I OWN A 2007 LINCOLN MKZ WITH MICHELIN ENERGY MXV4 TIRES DOT NUMBER B90A NNHX 0207 WHICH ARE ORIGINAL EQUIPMENT ON THE VEHICLE. DURING NORMAL OPERATION IN THE LAST 6 MONTHS I HAVE EXPERIENCED VALVE STEM FAILURES ON 3 OF THE 4 ORIGINAL TIRES LEADING TO A SEVERE AIR LEAK AND IN TWO INSTANCES DAMAGE TO THE SIDEWALL OF THE TIRE. IN EACH CASE THE DAMAGE WAS REPAIRED BY REPLACING THE TIRE AND/OR VALVE STEM AT A LINCOLN DEALERSHIP. THE DEALER, FORD MOTOR COMPANY, AND MICHELIN REFUSE TO ACKNOWLEDGE THAT THERE IS A PROBLEM. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 LINCOLN MKZ. WHILE DRIVING 30 MPH, THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL BECAME DEPRESSED WHEN THE CONTACT WAS DEPRESSING THE BRAKE PEDAL. THE FAILURE HAS OCCURRED ON SIX OCCASIONS. THE VEHICLE ROLLED OVER AND CRASHED IN A FIELD. THE WEATHER WAS NOT A FACTOR. THE CONTACT WAS CUT OUT OF THE VEHICLE AND SUSTAINED MINOR INJURIES. HE WAS HOSPITALIZED FOR OBSERVATION. THERE WERE NO OTHER VEHICLES INVOLVED. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THE DEALER DID NOT DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE PRIOR TO THE CRASH. THE CONTACT HAS A PHOTO OF THE CRASH FROM THE LOCAL NEWSPAPER. 1. DRIVING ON TWO LINE ROAD. TO AVOID HEAD ON COLLISION HAD TO DETER OFF ROAD AND HIT HUGE TREE AT 30 MPH 2. SEATBELT DID NOT RESTRAINT NOR DID AIRBAGS DEPLOY. CONSEQUENCES ARE PTSS, CHEST AND NECK TRAUMA, EXTREME ANXIETY 3. CAR IS STILL UNDER REPAIR. FORD MOTOR REFUSES TO CHECK REASONS FOR EQUIPMENT FAULT AND NEGLIGENCE. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 LINCOLN MKZ. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE ENGINE FAILED TO OPERATE ONCE THE IGNITION WAS STARTED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHERE THE BATTERY WAS REPLACED. THE FAILURE RECURRED THREE TIMES WITH THE REPLACEMENT OF THE BATTERY EACH TIME. IN ADDITION, THE FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE INFERIOR POWER DOOR LOCK FAILED TO UNLOCK. THE CONTACT HAD TO EXIT THE VEHICLE FROM THE FRONT PASSENGER'S SIDE DOOR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE DEFECT. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNAVAILABLE. UPDATED 08/06/13*LJ
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 LINCOLN MKZ. THE CONTACT STATED THAT AIR LEAKED FROM ALL FOUR WHEELS, SPECIFICALLY AROUND THE RIMS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE RIMS NEEDED TO BE SEALED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE CONTACT CHANGED ALL FOUR TIRES, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 104,101. UPDATED 10/26/16*LJ UPDATED 03/13/17.*JB
TAKATA RECALL. WE RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE MARCH 2017 AND THERE IS STILL NO NOTICE TO BRING IN THE CAR FOR THE FAULTY AIRBAG REPLACEMENT.
TL*- THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 LINCOLN MKZ, AND WAS CONCERNED BECAUSE THE VEHICLE FAILED TWO FRONTAL OFFSET TEST THAT WERE CONDUCTED BY THE INSURANCE INSTITUTION OF HIGHWAY SAFETY. THE CONTACT FEARED THAT THIS COULD BE A SAFETY ISSUE. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 1,000.*AK THE CONSUMER HAS PROVIDED A COPY OF INSURANCE INSTITUTE FOR HIGHWAY SAFETY TEST AND ASK THAT THE CAR BE BROUGHT UP TO CERTAIN SPECIFICATIONS PERTAINING TO THE REPORT.
