TAKATA RECALL. I HAVEN'T HAD A PROBLEM YET BUT I AM CONCERNED AS TAKATA HAS FILED BANKRUPTCY--WILL MY AIRBAGS GET FIXED BEFORE I NEED THEM?
NOTHING HAPPENED EXCEPT WE HAVE A RECALL ON THE AIRBAG.WE GOT THE LETTER IN MARCH 0F 2017. WHEN WE CALLED THE DEALER TODAY ON 11-6-17 THEY STATED WE HAD TO WAIT FOR THE 2ND LETTER SAYING PARTS ARE AVAILABLE. SO WHERE IS OUR 2ND LETTER SO WE CAN GET THIS FIXED. I FEEL WE SHOULD HAVE RECEIVED THIS BY NOW.

CHECKED AGAIN 6 MONTHS LATER, AND AGAIN WHEN I RECEIVED THE LEGAL NOTICE REGARDING TAKATA'S FIING OF BANKRUPTCY. DEALER STILL DOES NOT HAVE PARTS, AND HAS NO IDEA WHEN THEY MIGHT BE AVAILABLE.

TAKATA RECALL . I AM UNABLE TO GET AN INSPECTION STICKER FOR THIS CAR BECAUSE OF THE AIRBAG AND FORD SAYS THERE IS NO REMEDY? THIS WILL FORCE ME TO JUNK THIS CAR SINCE IN MA THE AIRBAG IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND I WILL BE UNABLE TO GET AN INSPECTION STICKER SO I WILL HAVE TO JUNK IT, NOT USE IT OR SELL IT AT A VERY TERRIBLE PRICE DUE TO FORDS NOT HAVING A REMEDY.

I RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE ON MY AIR BAG FOR THE PASSENGER FRONTAL AIRBAG INFLATOR COULD RUPTURE IF THE VEHICLE IS INVOLVED IN A CRASH WHERE THE SUPPLEMENTAL FRONTAL AIRBAGS ARE DESIGNED TO DEPLOY. THIS DEFECT REPORT IS IN RESPONSE TO TAKATA DIRS 16E-042, 16E-043, 16E-044.. JUST LAST WEEK MY AIR BAG LIGHT CAME ON AND WHEN I RECEIVED THIS RECALL I AM WORRIED ABOUT THE AIR BAG BEING DEFECTIVE. I CALLED THE DENVER, CO DEALER AND THEY TELL ME THEY DON'T HAVE THE PARTS YET. THE RECALL WAS AS OF JUNE 2017. I AM CONCERNED DRIVING A CAR WITH A DEFECTIVE AIR BAG. THE DENVER DEALER TELLS ME THEY DON'T HAVE THE PART AND THE PARTS ARE BEING SENT OUT TO HIGH HUMIDITY AREAS FIRST AND DENVER WITH BE LAST. THE DENVER DEALER DIDN'T HAVE A ESTIMATED TIME WHEN THEY WOULD RECEIVE THE PARTS. THEY SAID THE MOTOR VEHICLE DEPARTMENT WOULD BE SENDING OUT A NOTICE EVENTUALLY. VERY CONCERNING.
I RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE ON THE AIR BAGS ON MY 2008 LINCOLN MKZ AND I CALLED THE DENVER, CO DEALER AND HE SAYS THEY DON'T HAVE THE PARTS IN TO FIX THAT YET. MY LIGHT FOR MY AIR BAGS JUST CAME ON LAST WEEK AND THE RECALL WAS IN JUNE 2017. WHEN I ASK THE DENVER DEALER WHEN THE PARTS WILL BE AVAILABLE TO FIX MY CAR HE SAID HE DIDN'T KNOW THE PART WOULD GO TO HIGH HUMIDITY AREAS FIRST. RECALL 16V384, FAULTY TANAKA AIR BAGS. CALLED SCHUMACHER LINCOLN IN DELRAY, FLORIDA (844-653-8366), BUT THEY DID NOT HAVE THE REPLACEMENT PART AND COULD NOT DO THE WORK.
TAKATA RECALL - 06/01/2016 - NOTIFIED VEHICLE IS INVOLVED IN RECALL. 10/20/2017 - NO DEALERSHIPS I SPOKE TO HAVE PARTS AND DON'T KNOW WHEN REPLACEMENT PARTS WILL BE AVAILABLE. AUTO NATION LINCOLN IN CLEARWATER FL STATED THEY HAVE NOT REPLACED RECALLED AIRBAGS IN 2 YRS. I LIVE IN SEMINOLE, FL - ITS HOT, HUMID AND MY CAR IS ALMOST 10 YRS OLD.

BOTH FRONT DOORS HAVE A PROBLEM THE HANDLE ON THE DRIVER DOOR BROKE U CANNOT OPEN THE DOOR FROM THE INSIDE. THEN TODAY THE PASSENGER DOOR WANT STAY CLOSE.
TAKATA RECALL. GOT RECALL NOTICE IN THE MAIL FOR A FAULTY AIRBAG. WENT TO DEALERSHIP WHERE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED, AND LISTED AS A DEALERSHIP CAPABLE OF FIXING THE ISSUE ON THE TAKATA RECALL WEBSITE, AND THEY INFORMED ME THEY DIDN'T NOR WERE THEY GOING TO HAVE THE REPLACEMENT PARTS IN STOCK ANY TIME SOON. I WANT THIS ISSUE FIXED, FREE OF CHARGE, BEFORE AN ACCIDENT OCCURS.

AFTER AN ABS BRAKING EVENT THE BRAKE PEDAL IS NOW SOFT AND SPONGY AND EXHIBITS EXCESSIVE TRAVEL. BRAKES STILL FUNCTION EFFECTIVELY. BRAKES WILL "PUMP UP" HARDER WITH AN ADDITIONAL PEDAL STROKE.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD EFFECTIVELY STOP; HOWEVER, THERE WERE GRAVE CONCERNS THAT EVENTUALLY THE BRAKES WOULD TOTALLY FAIL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE MASTER CYLINDER, BRAKE CALIPERS, AND ROTORS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS INTERMITTENT. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 120,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
WHEN ABS ENGAGES, THE BRAKE PEDAL BECOMES REALLY SQUISHY, AND HAS TO BE PUSHED TO THE FLOOR IN ORDER TO STOP THE VEHICLE. DOESN'T FEEL LIKE IT WOULD BE ABLE TO STOP IN EMERGENCY SITUATION. HAS BEEN HAPPENING FOR YEARS, BUT HASN'T BEEN AN ISSUE IN DRY CALIFORNIA. NOTE CALIFORNIA IS WET, AND IT HAPPENS ALL THE TIME. ABS SEEMS OVERLY EAGER TO ENGAGE, AND THIS CONDITION TAKES DAYS BEFORE BRAKE PEDAL SEEMS NORMAL AGAIN.
TIRE PRESSURE GOES DOWN QUICKLY. I SET TIRE PRESSURE AND WITHIN 2 DAYS THE TIRE PRESSURE WARNING LIGHT COMES ON. VEHICLE BECOMES UN STABLE AT SPEED AND IS DIFFICULT TO CONTROL. I WAS DRIVING AND IT WAS DIFFICULT TO CONTROL THE DIRECTION OF THE VEHICLE ALL OF A SUDDEN. THE TIRES WON'T HOLD A SEAL AND HAVE CONTINUALLY SMALL AIR LEAKS. I HAVE TO KEEP FILLING MY TIRES WITH AIR EVERY WEEK OR SO. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO 3 DIFFERENT TIRE PLACES AND ALL SAY THE SAME THING THING, THE TIRES ARE GOOD, WHEELS ARE NOT BENT, AND THAT IT IS A KNOWN ISSUE WITH MY CAR THAT THE CHROME ERODES OFF AND IT WILL NOT HOLD A SEAL. EVERY SINGLE PLACE HAS SAID THE SAME THING AND I CONTINUE TO HAVE THE SAME EXPERIENCE. THEY WILL CLEAN OFF THE RIM AND RESEAL IT AND SAY AS LONG AS THE CHROME WHEELS KEEP ERODING IT WILL CONTINUE AND IT IS SO TRUE!
WAS DRIVING ON A NON-HIGHWAY ROAD ABOUT 45MPH WHEN I WAS COMING UP TO A STOP LIGHT. MY BRAKES FELT LIKE THEY COMPLETELY JUST GAVE OUT! PEDAL WENT STRAIGHT TO THE FLOOR, THERE WAS NO FIRMNESS OR RESISTANCE ON THE BRAKE PEDAL. I HAD TO SWERVE AND ALMOST ENDED UP IN ON COMING TRAFFIC. EXCESSIVE BRAKE PEDAL TRAVEL OR SOFT PEDAL WHICH REQUIRES GREATER FOOT FORCE TO INSURE SAFE STOPPING. THIS OCCURS WHEN THE CAR IS IN MOTION.
SOFT AND LONG TRAVEL BRAKE PEDDLE, OCCASIONALLY PEDDLE WILL TRAVEL ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR. SCARY STOPPING. INTERMITTENT PEDDLE TRAVEL. SOMETIMES CORRECTED WITH HEAVY PUMPING. NEVER KNOW WHICH BRAKE PEDDLE WILL OCCUR. SPONGY PEDDLE FEEL CAN OCCUR ON STOPPING AND CAN ALSO BE FELT WHEN IN PARK OR COMING TO A STOP. WIFE CRASHED INTO GARAGE.
