TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 LINCOLN MKZ. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE WHEELS ON THE VEHICLE WERE LEAKING AIR. THE CONTACT DROVE TO BILL KNIGHT LINCOLN VOLVO (4111 S MEMORIAL DR, TULSA, OK 74145) FOUR TIMES. THE DEALER SANDED DOWN THE CORROSION ON THE INTERIOR OF THE RIM AND MOUNTED IT BACK ON THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE OCCURRED FOR APPROXIMATELY FOUR YEARS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 83,000.
GOT IN MY CAR PUT IT IN REVERSE AND LOST POWER STEERING. FORD SAID ONLY SOME MKZ HYBIRDS ARE RECALLED BUT MINE ISN'T ON THE LIST. EVIDENTLY FROM WHAT I READ ALL OF THEM SHOULD BE RECALLED. MY CAR ONLY HAS 76,000 MILES ON IT SOME PEOPLE WAS A LOT LESS. I WAS LUCKY I WASN'T DRIVING AT THE TIME. WE LIVE ON A FIXED INCOME AND CAN'T AFFORD THE COST TO GET IT FIXED AT THE DEALERSHIP WHO WILL CHARGE A FORTUNE. I BOUGHT THIS CAR A MONTH AGO USED AND NOW AM OUT THE MONEY I PAID FOR IT. I PAID CASH.

TAKATA NOTICE AND DASHBOARD WHERE AIRBAGS ARE.FASH IS SPLITTING AND DEALER SAID CAN'T BE FIXED. HAVE TO ORDER AND PAY FOR A NEW DASH. I RECEIVED A CLASS ACTION NOTICE ABOUT AIRBAGS. DEALER CHECKED AND NO RECALLS I CONCERNED
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 LINCOLN MKZ. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS APPLIED AND TRAVELED TO THE FLOORBOARD WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO CRAFT HYUNDAI (2625 LAKESIDE DR, LYNCHBURG, VA 24501, (434) 455-7060) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE CALIPERS, FRONT BRAKE PADS, MASTER CYLINDER, AND BRAKE HYDRAULIC CONTROL NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO STATED THAT THE PARTS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AGAIN. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO NHTSA. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 92,000.
CAR IN QUESTION: 2011 LINCOLN MKZ HYBRID, 90,379 MILES DRIVING ON A HIGHWAY, WRENCH LIGHT COMES ON, CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON, NO POWER FROM THE ENGINE WHEN APPLYING A THROTTLE. DUE TO A VEHICLE BEING A HYBRID, COAST ON BATTERY POWER TO A SHOULDER. THROTTLE BODY HAD TO BE REPLACED. THERE WAS A RECALL FOR A FORD FUSION AND A MERCURY MILAN FOR THE SAME PROBLEM, BUT NO RECALL FOR A LINCOLN MKZ AND NO RECALL FOR A HYBRID. ALTHOUGH THEY USE EXACTLY THE SAME PART NUMBER FOR A THROTTLE BODY.
EARLY THIS SUMMER THE FRONT PASSENGER DOOR OPEN/LOCK MECHANISM BROKE. THE DOOR CAN NOT BE LOCKED. IT CAN BE OPENED FROM INSIDE BUT WITH MORE FORCE THAN USUAL. A FEW MONTHS LATER THE VERY SAME PROBLEM OCCURRED WTH THE DRIVER SIDE, FRONT, MECHANISM. THIS SEEMS TO BE A DESIGN FLAW AND NOT A COINCIDENCE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 LINCOLN MKZ. UPON STARTING THE VEHICLE, THE STEERING FAULT WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS THEN SHIFTED INTO DRIVE AND THE STEERING WHEEL SEIZED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS SERVICED PER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V340000 (STEERING) AT CHERRY FORD (363 HARLEM AVE, PEOTONE, IL), BUT THE REMEDY FAILED TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE AS THE SYMPTOMS RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER, BUT THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE DUPLICATED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE RECALL REPAIR CORRECTED THE FAILURE. WE TOOK IT IN FOR THE POWER STEERING RECALL WE DISCOVERED WHEN WE LOST ALL POWER STEERING AND ALMOST CRASHED. THE DEALERSHIP IS FIXING IT FOR THE 5TH TIME IN 6 WEEKS AND IT WON'T FIX. WE KEEP DANGEROUSLY LOOSING POWER STEERING. WERE MINISTERS AND SERVE AT OUR OWN COSTS WE CAN'T AFFORD TO BE IN DANGER AND NOT BE ABLE TO TRUST OUR CAR. THEY WON'T STOP TRYING TO FIX WHAT CLEARLY THEY CAN'T FIX. WE FEEL THEY SHOULD REPLACE THE VEHICHLE. OUR POWER STEERING HAS NOW GONE OUT WHILE DRIVING 5 TIMES. IT'S DANGEROUS AND WE FEEL LINCOLN WHO INITIALLY SAID IT WASN'T ON RECALL WHEN WE CONTACTED THEM IS BEING IRRESPONSIBLE BY NOT PROTECTING US BY TAKING BACK THEIR DEFECTIVE AND DANGEROUS VEHICHLE THAT WE ARE STILL MAKING PAYMENTS ON. IT ONLY HAS 62,000 MILES ON IT THERE SHOULD BE NO REASON FOR THIS
THE PROBLEM IS, EVERY TIME THEY REPLACED THE PART THE NEW PART WAS NO GOOD EITHER AND BROKE BACK DOWN TAKING OUT OUR POWER STEERING OUT TIME AND TIME AGAIN AND 'INCREASING THE RISK OF ACCIDENT' LIKE THE RECALL LETTER TO FORD AND LINCOLN DEALERS SENT BY MICHAEL BERARDI SAID IT WOULD. I HAVE A COPY. THE RESPONSE AS CAN BE SEEN ENCLOSED REVISITED DAY ONE WHEN WE CALLED LINCOLN ABOUT THE RECALL, AND THEY TOLD US IT WASN'T UNDER RECALL. YOU DON'T KNOW YOUR OWN RECALL AND YOUR CALLING IT A WARRANTY. PART ONE OF THE RECALL REPROGRAMS THE POWER STEERING CONTROL MODULE IF IT IS THROWING A CODE. SECTION 2 THEN KICKS IN, AND IF IN THE NEXT 100,000 MILES THE MODULE GOES WRONG IT GETS REPLACED AT YOUR COST FOR PARTS, LABOR, ETC. YET, NOT ONLY WAS I TOLD NO GO PAY FOR IT MYSELF THE FIRST TIME, NOW AFTER THE 6TH BREAKDOWN AND MY PLEA FOR HELP THEY ANSWER AS CLUELESSLY AS THE FIRST. THEY ARE ALSO ADDRESSING A RECALL AS A WARRANTY. NOR COULD YOU EVEN FILL IN MY VEHICLE TYPE WHERE THAT WENT WHEN YOU HAD ALL THE INFO IT'S A LINCOLN MKZ HYBRID
DRIVERS FRONT DOOR LATCH DOES NOT RETURN TO LATCHED POSITION.
CAR LOST ALL POWER ON THE EXPRESS WAY. PULL OVER TO THE SIDE, AFTER A WHILE GOT ENGINE GOING AGAIN AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. CHECKED IT AT THE MECHANIC SHOP THE NEXT DAY AND ELECTRONIC THROTTLE BODY, SHOWED A MALFUNCTION OF A THROTTLE VALVE. WE WERE IN A VERY A DANGEROUS CIRCUMSTANCE. DANGEROUS POSITION WHEN THE CAR LOST POWER ON THE EXPRESS WAY.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 LINCOLN MKZ. WHILE OPERATING THE VEHICLE, THE LOW TIRE PRESSURE INDICATOR ILLUMINATED, WHICH MEANT THE AIR PRESSURE WAS LOW. UPON INSPECTION, IT WAS DISCOVERED THAT THE LIPS OF THE WHEEL RIMS WERE CORRODED AND DAMAGED, WHICH CAUSED AIR TO LEAK FROM THE TIRES. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DETERMINED. IRWIN LINCOLN MERCURY (4032 RT 9 SOUTH, FREEHOLD, NJ) AND THE MANUFACTURER WERE NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 73,000. *TT*JB
P0016 CODE CAME UP.. LINCOLN ADVISES REPAIR WILL BE OVER $5000.00 TO FIX AND I SHOULD TRADE IN AND GET NEW CAR. JUST MADE LAST PAYMENT AND CAR ONLY HAS 66, 000 MILES ON IT. P0016 IS PART OF CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT. WATER PUMP IS LEAKING ON TIMING CHAIN WHICH WILL EVENTUALLY SEIZE ENGINE.

TAKATA RECALL I HAVE GOT NOTICE THAT THE PASSENGER AIRBAG IS DANGEROUSLY DEFECTIVE AND MUST BE REPLACED., AND I SHOULD "CONTACT YOUR NEAREST DEALERSHIP IMMEDIATELY TO SCHEDULE A FREE REPAIR". MY LOCAL DEALER (SANTA MONICA FORD) DOES NOT HAVE THE PARTS, AND CAN NOT SAY WHEN THEY WILL BE AVAILABLE. THE NOTICE FROM TK HOLDINGS IMPLIES THAT ALL REPAIRS SHOULD BE COMPLETED BY 27 DECEMBER. WHEN WILL THE PARTS BE AVAILABLE?
TAKATA RECALL AM NOT ABLE TO SELL THIS CAR BECAUSE NO ONE FEELS IT IS SAFE TO DRIVE. THEREFORE, A $20,000 VEHICLE IS SITTING IN MY DRIVEWAY RUSTING AWAY !
TAKATA RECALL. WE PURCHASED THIS CAR NEW APR 11, 2011 FROM MACK HAIK LINCOLN IN GEORGETOWN TX. WE HAVE SINCE RECEIVED TWO SAFETY RECALL NOTICES BUT GET NO HELP FROM THE DEALER. OUR LAST RECALL NOTICE INCLUDED A WARNING NOT TO ALLOW PASSENGERS IN THE RIGHT FRONT SEAT.
THE PASSENGER SIDE DOOR COULD NOT BE OPENED FROM THE INSIDE. ONLY THE OUTSIDE DOOR HANDLE COULD OPEN IT SUCCESSFULLY. THE DEALER HAS ORDERED PARTS FOR A REPAIR. HE INDICATED THAT THERE IS NO RECALL ON THIS ISSUE, ALTHOUGH I RECALL A NOTIFICATION ABOUT DOOR PROBLEMS. SEVERAL YEARS AGO THE LEFT DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR HAD THE SAME PROBLEM AND REQUIRED A DEALER FIX. THIS APPARENT DEFECT IN DOOR DESIGN POSES A POTENTIALLY SERIOUS SAFETY RISK IF AN OCCUPANT NEEDS TO EXIT THE VEHICLE IN AN EMERGENCY. IT SEEMS HIGHLY UNLIKELY THAT BOTH DOORS WOULD MALFUNCTION (AT DIFFERENT TIMES) IF THERE WAS NOT SOME INHERENT DESIGN DEFECT. IN BOTH INSTANCES THE INABILITY TO EXIT THE VEHICLE VIA THE USUAL INSIDE DOOR MECHANISM OCCURRED WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER OR REPAIRED. A FIRE REPORT WAS NOT FILED AND THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 84,000.

TAKATA RECALL. WHEN CONTACTED AFTER 6 MONTHS OF WAITING, FORD DEALER SAID TAKATA HAD DECLARED BANKRUPTCY AND THEY WEREN'T FIXING THEM UNTIL THAT WAS FINISHED.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 LINCOLN MKZ. WHILE DRIVING 15 MPH, THE STEERING COLUMN SEIZED AND REQUIRED ADDITIONAL EFFORT TO OPERATE THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO NORM REEVES FORD SUPERSTORE (18900 STUDEBAKER RD, CERRITOS, CA), BUT THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE REPLICATED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE, BUT NO ASSISTANCE WAS OFFERED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 55,000.
RECEIVED LEGAL NOTICE FOR OWNERS OF VEHICLES WITH TAKATA AIRBAG INFLATOR RECALL. LOCAL FORD DEALER INFORMED ME THAT THE REPLACEMENT PART IS NOT AVAILABLE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 LINCOLN MKZ. WHILE THE CONTACT'S WIFE WAS DRIVING AND ATTEMPTING TO APPLY THE BRAKES, THE BRAKE PEDAL LOWERED SLOWLY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT HIS WIFE STRUCK A FLOWER POT ON A NEARBY LAWN AND HAD TO APPLY THE EMERGENCY BRAKE TO STOP THE VEHICLE. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TOWED. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO A CERTIFIED MECHANIC WHO REPAIRED THE MASTER CYLINDER, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE CONTACT RETURNED THE VEHICLE TO THE CERTIFIED MECHANIC WHO DISCOVERED A MECHANISM UNDER THE BRAKE PEDAL THAT PROHIBITED THE BRAKE PEDAL FROM BEING ABLE TO BE DEPRESSED APPROPRIATELY. THE MECHANISM WAS REMOVED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE; HOWEVER, THE CONTACT HAD NOT YET RECEIVED A RESPONSE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 40,000. THE CONSUMER STATED THERE WAS AN OBSTRUCTION ABOVE THE GAS AND BRAKE PEDALS. THE OBSTRUCTION PREVENT THE DRIVER FROM APPLYING THE NECESSARY PRESSURE TO THE PEDALS. A MECHANIC STATED THE FAILURE WAS DUE TO POOR RESPONSE TIMING OF THE VEHICLE'S MASTER CYLINDER. THE MASTER CYLINDER WAS REPLACED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED SEVERAL MORE TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS INVOLVED IN 2 ACCIDENTS DUE TO THE FAILURE.*JS *JS *JS
TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2011 LINCOLN MKZ. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING ABOUT 10 MPH, THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED OUT OF CONTROL AND CRASHED INTO A HOUSE. THERE WAS NO WARNING INDICATOR. ONLY THE DRIVER'S SIDE AIR BAG DEPLOYED. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE DRIVER SUSTAINED INJURIES THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE VEHICLE WAS TOTALED AND TOWED AWAY. THE DEALER WAS CONTACTED AT: HOLMAN FORD/LINCOLN/MERCURY, ROUTE 38 WEST, MAPLE SHADE, NJ, WHERE IT WAS STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS NOT A KNOWN ISSUE. MY WIFE GOT TO THE MALL AND TRIED TO GET OUT OF THE CAR AND THE DOOR WOULD NOT UNLATCH. SHE CALLED ME FRANTIC ASKING WHAT TO DO. SHE DID NOT DARE ASK A STRANGER, SO I TOLD HER TO WAIT AND I WOULD BE RIGHT THERE. SHE WAS VERY UPSET BY THE TIME I GOT THERE.-20 MIN. THE DOOR OPENED NORMALLY FROM THE OUTSIDE. IN A DIFFERENT CIRCUMSTANCE OR LOCATION THIS COULD HAVE BEEN A LIFE THREATENING EVENT. I BELIEVE THE DESIGN OR MATERIAL SHOULD BE CHANGED BEFORE SOMEONE IS INJURED OR WORSE KILLED.

RPR COST REDUCED TO $1145 DUE TO INADEQUATE DIAGNOSIS & 10 DAY WAIT FOR RETURN OF WRONG PARTS AND DEALER SUBLETS, PRIOR ELECTRICAL FAILURE OF DRIVER DOOR LATCH & LOCKING MECHANISM AT 39K MILES BOTH OCCURRENCES AFTER 5 YEAR WARRANTY BUT SUBSTANTIALY PRIOR TO 50K MILE WARRANTY. CARUSO LINCOLN DEALER WAS ABLE TO GET WARRANTY REPAIR DONE ON DOOR PROBLEM. I DID NOT EVEN ATTEMPT WARRANTY REPAIR ON SEAT PROBLEM PREFERRING TO PAY AND PAY OFF VEHICLE ASAP AND RID MYSELF OF IT.

I, AS WELL AS MY MECHANIC, WANT TO KNOW WHY LINCOLN GETS OUT OF TAKING CARE OF THEIR DEFECTIVE TAILLIGHT ISSUE ON VEHICLES THAT HAVE SALVAGE TITLES? IT WOULD BE ONE THING IF THE LIGHTS WERE DAMAGED OR DESTROYED IN THE ACCIDENT - BUT IF A CAR HAS BEEN BACK ON THE ROAD FOR YEARS, YET MEETS THE OTHER CRITERIA - WHY SHOULD I HAVE TO PAY FOR TAILLIGHTS THAT WENT OUT AT 60,000 MILES? IT'S A SAFETY ISSUE. THIS ISN'T A WINDOW SWITCH, IT'S SOMETHING I CAN BE TICKETED FOR OR CAN CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. PLEASE EXPLAIN TO ME WHY THIS SAFETY ISSUE IS OPTIONAL FOR THE LINCOLN COMPANY. THE FRONT DRIVERS DOOR WILL NO LONGER OPEN FROM THE INSIDE. THIS STARTED ON SEPTEMBER 30, 2016 WHILE I WAS ON A ROAD TRIP. I THOUGHT MAYBE IT WAS A FUSE OR ELECTRICAL PROBLEM. I STARTED ROLLING THE WINDOW DOWN TO OPEN THE DOOR FROM THE OUTSIDE. WE WENT TO THE FORD DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD THE PART WAS BACK ORDERED BY MORE THAN 700 PARTS. IF WE HOLD TWO PARTS OF THE HANDLE AT THE SAME TIME WE CAN GET THE DOOR OPEN. I HAVE CARPAL TUNNEL AND THAT IS SOMETIMES DIFFICULT. WHEN I ASKED ABOUT A RECALL I WAS TOLD NOT YET BUT THE PROBLEM HAS BEEN CORRECTED IN LATER MODELS. IF IT IS EVER RECALLED WE WILL GET OUR REPAIR MONEY BACK. IT HAS BEEN SEVERAL WEEKS AND WE ARE STILL WAITING FOR THE PART. IF I AM IN AN ACCIDENT OR NEED TO GET OUT OF THE CAR IN A HURRY THIS IS DEFINITELY A SAFETY HAZARD. WHAT IF I LOSE POWER AND CANNOT GET THE WINDOW DOWN. I CAN NOT VALET PARK. I WAS TOLD AND WELL AS SAW IT ON THE INTERNET THAT THIS IS A WIDESPREAD PROBLEM WITH THE MKZS AND FORD FUSIONS. THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD.
JUST OVER 5 YR WARRANTY AND ONLY 39K MILES OF 50K WARRANTY, WHEN PARKED, DRIVER'S DOOR LOCKING SYSTEM STOPPED WORKING PREVENTING DRIVER FROM OPENING DOOR TO EXIT WITHOUT ROLLING DOWN WINDOW WITH EXTREME DIFFICULTY AND/OR INABILITY IN PULLING OUTSIDE DOOR HANDLE. TO EXIT IN NML CASE OR IN CASE OF COLLISION. LINCOLN SVC REP STATES IT IS A NORMAL OCCURRENCE AND WILL COST $480.00 PLUS TO REPAIR BECAUSE IT IS JUST OUTSIDE OF THE 5 YEAR.WARRANTY.
