REF. PREVIOUS COMPLAINT NO. 11104176 - RECALLED SINCE JULY 2016. APRIL 1018 SUPPLIED RENTAL CAR - SAID MY AUTO COULD NOT BE DRIVEN UNTIL REPAIRED. I WANT MY CAR REPAIRED. SEEMS OVER 2 YEARS SHOULD BE ENOUGH TIME. I DON'T LIKE THE RENTAL - I WANT MY CAR BACK. OFFERED TO SELL TO THEM - BUT THEY WOULD RATHER WASTE MONEY ON RENTAL RATHER THAN SATISFY A CUSTOMER.
SAFETY RECALL NOTICE 16S26 / NHTSA RECALL 16V-384 - DATED JULY 2016 OR ALMOST TWO YEARS AGO AT WHICH TIME NOTIFIED NOT SAFE FOR ANYONE TO SIT IN PASSENGER SEAT DUE TO POSSIBLE DEPLOYMENT OF THAT AIR BAG WHICH COULD CAUSE SERIOUS INJURY OR EVEN DEATH. WE NEED TO USE THE PASSENGER SEAT. ANY IDEA WHEN THIS WILL BE REMEDIED?
TAKATA RECALL. I RECEIVED A LETTER IN JULY 2016 THAT MY PASSENGER AIRBAG WAS ON RECALL. THE LETTER STATED:" A RUPTURED INFLATOR MAY RESULT IN METAL FRAGMENTS STRIKING VEHICLE OCCUPANTS CAUSING SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH." IT IS NOW SEPT. 21, 2016 AND I HAVE BEEN CALLING LINCOLN COMPANY ASKING WHEN WILL MY AIRBAG PART BE AVAILABLE. IT WAS LEARNED THAT LINCOLN IS "IN THE DEVELOPMENT STAGE" TO PRODUCE THE PART! NOT ONLY DO THEY NOT HAVE A PART, THEY HAVE NOT EVEN DEVELOPED THE PART YET!!" I SPOKE TO THREE DIFFERENT PEOPLE AT LINCOLN CUSTOMER SERVICE AND A SUPERVISOR ABOUT THIS SITUATION. THEY ALL STATED THEY HAVE NO IDEA WHEN A PART WOULD BE AVAILABLE, EVEN THOUGH I AM IN FLORIDA ZONE A FOR THE MOST SERIOUS CASE OF INFLATOR MALFUNCTION. SINCE RECEIVING THE LETTER, I HAVE NOT ALLOWED ANYONE TO SIT IN THE FRONT SEAT PASSENGER SEAT.....AND WILL NOT UNTIL THIS MATTER IS FIXED. HENCE, I HAVE NOT HAD THE USE/ENJOYMENT/COMFORT OF THE AUTOMOBILE THAT I PURCHASED. THIS IS VERY UNACCEPTABLE. THE WORST PART OF THIS TO ME IS THAT THE THREE PEOPLE I SPOKE TO AT LINCOLN SAID, "IT IS SAFE TO DRIVE THE CAR AND USE THAT SEAT, SINCE THE LETTER DID NOT INDICATE A LOANER CAR WOULD BE ISSUED." HOW IN THE WORLD CAN ANYONE GET A LETTER LIKE THIS AND THEN THE COMPANY SAY THE LIKES OF "OH DON'T WORRY."???? THEIR LOGIC IS TOTALLY INSANE AND ILLOGICAL. UNFORTUNATELY, I UNDERSTAND THAT OVER 50 MILLION CARS+ ARE ON RECALL FOR THIS MATTER AND IT IS A NIGHTMARE FOR THE CAR COMPANIES. HOWEVER, I CAN NOT WORRY ABOUT THEM, I HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT MY GRANDSON, OR ANY OTHER PASSENGERS! HOW LONG WILL I HAVE TO MAKE PEOPLE SIT IN THE BACKSEAT OF MY CAR?????

TAKATA RECALL. MY CAR WAS MANUFACTURED AT THE END OF 2010 AND IS NOW SIX YEARS OLD. I LIVE IN FLORIDA AND THE CAR HAS BEEN IN FLORIDA SINCE NEW IN CONDITIONS OF HIGH HEAT AND HUMIDITY. WITH THIS RECALL ISSUED IN JUNE 2016, I STILL HAVE NO WORD FROM LINCOLN OR FORD MOTOR COMPANY ON WHEN THIS WILL BE FIXED. PLEASE ASSIST. UPDATED 11/06/2017*JS
I HAD HEARD A WHEEZING NOISE IN THE FRONT END SO I TOOK THE CAR TO MY MECHANIC. HE WAS UNABLE TO FIND A PROBLEM. A WEEK AFTER WHILE DRIVING THE CAR I WAS DRIVING AND AS I TURNED THE CAR COMPLETELY SHUT DOWN. TWO DAYS LATER IT BEGAN TO NOT DRIVE PROPERLY I TOOK THE CAR BACK TO THE MECHANIC AND SAID I HAD A BAD SENSOR BUT THE WATER PUMP WAS GOING BAD. HE STATED IT SHOULDN'T GO BAD IN THIS NEWER OF A CAR. MY CAR HAS BEEN UNDRIVABLE EVER SINCE. I'VE CALLED AROUND TO GET IT FIXED AS THOUGH IT SEEMS NOBODY HAS THE PROPER TOOLS TO FIX THIS ISSUE DUE TO THE FACT THE WHOLE ENGINE NEEDS TO BE REMOVED TO FIX THE PROBLEM.

TAKATA RECALL. I WAS NOTIFIED 22 MONTHS AGO ABOUT THE PASSENGER AIR BAG. LINCOLN HAS DONE NOTHING AND CONTINUES TO DELAY REPLACING THE AIRBAG. MEANWHILE, HONDA AND TOYOTA HAVE HELPED THEIR CUSTOMERS. HOW CAN THEY GET BY WITH THIS? I THINK THEY SHOULD BE REQUIRED TO MAKE THE RECALLS BEFORE SELLING NEW CARS.
AT 110K MILES THE LINCOLN DEALER TOLD ME THAT IT APPEARS THAT MY FRONT COIL SPRINGS HAVE CORRODED AND BROKE ON BOTH SIDES. HE SAID IT DOES NOT APPEAR TO BE RELATED TO ANY TYPE OF IMPACT (MY VEHICLE IS ACCIDENT FREE) AND APPEARS TO HAVE HAPPENED RECENTLY. THIS SAFETY ISSUE ON MY 5 YEAR OLD CAR SHOULD BE COVERED BY FORD.

WE PURCHASED THE VEHICLE ON THE TEST-DRIVE REQUESTED THAT THE DEALERSHIP ADDRESS THE FRONT-END NOISE. HAVE TAKEN THE VEHICLE 3 SEPARATE TIMES FOR REPAIR OF THE FRONT-END NOISE. AFTER 3RD TIME AT REPAIR BY DEALER, DISCOVERED THE 'NOISE' WAS THE RIGHT FRONT STRUT AND BALL JOINT FAILURE. THE DEALERSHIP WE PURCHASED VEHICLE DID NOT CONSIDER THIS A SAFETY ISSUE. YOU COULD TAKE THE RIGHT-FRONT TIRE AND SHAKE FROM SIDE-TO-SIDE WITH ALL TIRES ON THE GROUND. WE HAVE HAD TO SPEND OVER $2000 AND HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO DRIVE A NEW CAR BEFORE THE 30 TAG EXPIRED.

THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,000.
