My car was involved with an accident regarding a pothole and had an immediate loss of electronic power steering upon impact. Upon inspection by multiple certified technicians and adjusters, they noticed corrosion around the same bolts related to a recall for the same vehicle, but a different model/lot production: 15S14/19S26. This was a known corrosion defect, which is allegedly now causing the same issue with this model vehicle, causing extremely dangerous driving conditions which could lead to potential major incidents such as these. This now makes me question every vehicle from Ford Lincoln, or steering component related assembly recalls from corrosion when hitting any kind of potholes or larger contact areas.

The electronic parking brake engages on its own and locks causing the rear tire to lock while driving which then causes friction and the tire to smoke heavily which could cause fire or bad accident. I have replaced caliper, caliper actuator, rotor, brake pad, wheel speed sensor, wheel bearing and nothing has fixed the issue
While driving vehicle the engine shut down for no apparent reason. Light came on said do not attempt to drive, not safe. Was able to get car to a safe area. Was able to restart and get the car home. Brought the car to the dealer, said battery was dead, found water in the truck where the battery is located

Back up camera not working Glitch and black screen
I noticed that Ford issued recalls for select 2015 vehicles in May for issues with the backup camera. I have a 2015 Lincoln MKZ that just started experiencing the same issues that were mentioned in the May 2025 Ford backup camera recall. My camera will work for the first few seconds while in reverse, then the screen will go black. It has happened all 4 times I have driven my car today and put it in reverse. I occasionally receive a message on my display screen to "contact my dealership." I have 3 children [XXX] , [XXX] and [XXX]) and it is extremely scary to back out of my driveway with the possibility that one of them could be back there and I would not be able to see them. I would be more than happy to provide my vehicle for inspection. I have not had time to take the vehicle into the dealership but I am hoping to do that within the next week. I did not receive any warning messages and no warning lights appeared. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
The contact owns a 2015 Lincoln MKZ. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed into the garage, the steering column made a grinding sound while turning off the vehicle. The contact was unable to adjust the steering wheel up and down into position. An unknown dealer and a secondary dealer, Keller Ford (1073 Cadillac Ln, Hanford, CA 93230), were made aware of the failure, but the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 92,000.
Steering assist fault
In the middle of June 2024 (about [XXX]), my wife was driving her car, and pressed the horn button to warn a driver who had pulled out right in front of her. The horn failed to sound, and has not worked since then when pursuing the horn button. The horns themselves do sound when pressing the key fob to locate the car. Pressing the horn button has never worked since the time of this report, and several instances have occurred with other drivers needing to be forewarned of hazards. The problem has been verified by the husband, but not yet by the dealer, police or insurance representative. Sincerely, [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
Water is leaking in through my trunk due to a flaw manufacturing design
The catalytic converters(2) failed and need replacement. My mechanic diagnosed the problem and agrees with the scan code that was reported, a P0430. The check engine light is constantly lit and cannot be turned off with this fault code, according to my mechanic erasing the code will just bring it back shortly, and I have witnessed this. I have a document from Ford Motor Co. that shows my car, Lincoln MKZ, the build date from 2013-2015(1/24/2015), the Assembly plant of Hermosillo, saying that the dealer should replace the cats at no charge to the customer. Yet the dealer and FoMoCo say my cars VIN is not in the range for this repair. Why?

The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and advised the contact to file a complaint with the NHTSA Hotline. The failure mileage was approximately 99,200.
I tried to start my car this morning. It would not start. There was a loud popping noise, the headlights started flashing and a red box popped up on the control panel with the words brake failure. It was fine yesterday. There is a recall on the brake hoses. I called the dealership I bought the car from, Oxmoor Ford, Louisville, Ky and they said they don’t service Lincoln products anymore and referred me to Bill Collins Ford. I called them this morning and they haven’t called me back. I do have AAA, so I can have the car towed to the dealership. I need my car, what do I do?
I have previously filed complaint on this vehicle with no satisfaction. I have a Lincoln 2015 MKZ. This vehicle has a low front end clearance which I believe to be a serious safety concern. The front bumper is only 7 1/2 inches off the ground. Most cars are at least 9 plus inches off the ground. This car can not traverse any type of graded driveway or access road. The front bumper constantly hits the ground which inevitably can and has caused damage to the vehicle. I.E. damage to wheels, radiator, lights, engine not to mention the bumper itself. I have contacted Lincoln and they are indifferent to my complaint. This should have been rectified years ago but was ignored by Lincoln. The company probably should have provided all owners of record of a Lincoln MKZ with a factory authorized lift kit which could have raised the bumper at least 1 1/2 inches. I have contacted Lincoln several times but they ignore my complaints. I believe there should be a recall to rectify this problem. This is certainly a potentially dangerous situation. Your assistance is greatly appreciated.
The contact owns a 2015 Lincoln MKZ. The contact stated that after entering the vehicle, the driver’s side door failed to close securely. The contact held the door closed while driving. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who referred the contact to the dealer for assistance. The contact called the local dealer who was unable to determine the cause of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and informed the contact to follow the instructions from the dealer. The failure mileage was approximately 72,000.
I drove my 2015 Lincoln MKZ in to my driveway which is not steep grade and the front bumper hit the drive way and ripped the bumper. This car has very low front end. I called Lincoln up and complained about this low bumper problem. Lincoln customer service just blew me off. They acted like I was first person ever to complain. When I told them that You Tube Video has this problem listed they ignored me. This would not be a big deal if the bumper was 2 piece and all that had to be replaced was a bumper guard but the replacemrnt bumper covers the whole front end. Replacement bumper runs between $500 - $700. Labor to replace bumper runs from $500 - $1000 depending on shop. This is outrageous. Lincoln knew of this problem for years and did nothing to fix the problem. The least Lincoln should do is replace the bumper at no charge and provide me with discounted installation charge. What can I do? I covered the crack with tape so it would not spread but this looks terrible!
The contact owns a 2015 Lincoln MKZ. The contract stated that on several occasions, while the brake pedal was depressed, the brake pedal remained on the floorboard. Driver side brake line ruptured for the second time.Almost got into an accident.Had to run off the road to keep from hitting another vehicle. This is a very serious situation.Needs to be a recall on this brake line.I see other MKZ owners having same issue.
2105 LINCOLN MKZ. CONSUMER WRITES REGARDING BRAKE PEDAL STOP BUMPER SAFETY RECALL. CONSUMER IS REQUESTING TO BE REINBURSED FOR PAYING FOR - RECALL RELATED REPAIR. TS THE CONSUMER STATED PRIOR TO RECEIVING THE RECALL NOTICE, THE VEHICLE EXPERIENCED BRAKE PEDAL STOP BUMPER FAILURE. THE CONSUMER REQUESTED TO BE REIMBURSED FOR THE REPAIRS MADE IN RELATION TO THE SAFETY RECALL.
While driving, the right front brake hose ruptured, releasing a large amount of brake fluid, dropping the brake pedal to the floor and causing a sudden loss of braking power. I have the faulty hose in my possession. I was not able to brake while driving out of the mountains in Tennessee. My wife and I consider ourselves lucky to be alive. Had it happened minutes earlier, we would not be here to tell you about it or to show you the faulty part. The faulty hose was inspected and replaced by an auto mechanic. I advised our local Lincoln dealer/service and I also spoke to the Lincoln Concierge service about what should be considered an ongoing safety hazard. I am hoping to show it to you and anyone else that may be familiar with an identical issue regarding the Ford Edge/MKX version of the same brake hoses. There was no warning at all prior to the sudden loss of brakes.

Right rear shock assembly failed. Car has less than 45,000 miles. Ford claims they are not shipping this part.poor build quality. Afraid to drive the car very far. Poor response from Ford
Driving on the highway with the cruise control on and the vehicle will slam the brakes on for no reason. Usually coming up on an overpass or a shadow in the road. Have to hit the gas pedal to disengage/override the system. Have taken the vehicle to the dealership to has checked out. Nothing was found wrong.
Lincoln dealer advised during an unrelated servicing of my 2015 MKZ that the lug nuts were swollen and presented a danger and major problem with the definite hazard of not bring able to remove a flat tire on the roadside with the standard tire wrench. I see that my situation is not unique and repeated many times over based on reported cases. I believe that a Ford/Lincoln recall is the proper outcome to reimburse yhose already impacted and s replacement for those owners unknowing of the dangers involved.
Vehicle has turned of twice while driving. Had to coast to the side of the road. Very dangerous situation. No warning lights illuminated. Vehicle has an appt on Nov 1, 2021 for further inspection.
The contact owns a 2015 Lincoln MKZ. The contact stated that over the past year, she had replaced the battery on three separate occasions. The contact stated that on each occurrence, the vehicle failed to start up after multiple attempts and the vehicle had to be jumpstarted. The vehicle was started and driven to the dealer for the battery to be replaced. Recently, the contact was informed that the SSM rear gate trunk module may intermittently remain operational causing battery drainage. The dealer repaired the failure but could not guarantee that the repair would fix the vehicle. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred her to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The vehicle was repaired. The failure mileage was 29,236.
After reading about the numerous complaints about this vehicles transmission issues I have decided to come here. The PCM and TCM need to be changed in the vehicle. Causing rough shifts from 2nd to 3rd and 3rd to 4th which essentially will cause you to replace the transmission because of the damage it causes. Also constantly having drive control malfunction, check headlamp system messages popping up. There is also horrendous noise from the rear suspension any time you go over any type of anomaly in the road.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 LINCOLN MKZ. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT START. AFTER CHARGING THE BATTERY AND STARTING THE VEHICLE, THE VEHICLE DROVE ROUGH AND WOULD NOT PROPERLY ACCELERATE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE LOCAL DEALER FUTURE FORD LINCOLN OF CONCORD LOCATED AT 2285 DIAMOND BLVD, CONCORD, CA 94520 WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE ELECTRICAL HARNESS WAS FAULTY AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT YET REPAIRED. NO ADDITIONAL INFORMATION WAS AVAILABLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 62,000.
THE PROBLEM HAPPENING,AND AGAIN TODAY IS THAT THE AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT GOES ON AND THE AIR CONDITIONING STOPS WORKING AND THE POWER WINDOWS WON'T OPEN ON PASSENGER SIDE AND THE RADIO WON'T GO ON AND POWER DRIVERS SEAT MOVE BACK AND FORTH ON ITS OWN WHILE DRIVING!!!! PROBLEMS HAPPEN BOTH WHILE DRIVING AND IN STATIONARY POSITION. THIS HAS HAPPENED OCT 25. 2020. I FOUND OUT LL THIS AFTER STARTING THE VEHICLE.
MY 2015 MKZ STARTED HAVING PROBLEMS IN SEPTEMBER 2020 WHEN THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AS WELL AS THE INDICATOR FOR LOW ENGINE OIL PRESSURE, BOTH COMING ON WHEN THE CAR IS IN MOTION. WE PURCHASED THE EXTENDED WARRANTY WITH THE VEHICLE AND AFTER TAKING IT TO FORD AUTO NATION IN PANAMA CITY, THEY TOLD US IT WAS THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER. THEY DID NOT TEST WHY THE LOW ENGINE OIL PRESSURE INDICATOR LIGHT CAME ON, ONLY STATING IT WAS DUE TO THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER. I HAD TO CALL THEM TWICE TO EVEN GET AN UPDATE ON MY VEHICLE AS NO ONE WOULD CALL ME REGARDING THE ISSUES. WE THEN BROUGHT IT TO THE LOCAL MECHANIC WE USUALLY USE AND THEY STATED THE CAR HAD TWO EMISSION RECALLS/BULLETINS; ONE FOR THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER AND THE SECOND FOR THE POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE REPROGRAMMING ( WHICH I HAVE COPIES OF). AFTER TAKING IT BACK TO FORD AUTO NATION PANAMA CITY, THEY STATED THESE TWO RECALLS DID NOT APPLY TO MY VEHICLE AND WOULD NOT HELP US, EVEN AFTER GIVING THEM COPIES OF SUCH PAPERWORK. THEY STATED THAT JUST BECAUSE THE RECALLS/BULLETINS PULLED UP WITH MY VIN NUMBER, IT DID NOT MEAN THOSE WERE APPLICABLE TO MY VEHICLE. SINCE THE INCIDENT WITH FORD AUTO NATION PANAMA CITY, MY VEHICLE HAS BEEN TO THE LOCAL MECHANICS SHOP 3 TIMES FOR REPAIR TO THE OIL PRESSURE SWITCH, 2 DIFFERENT O2 SENSORS (FRONT LEFT AND BACK RIGHT) ALONG WITH CHANGING OUT OF SPARK PLUGS AS THE CORRECT ONES WERE NEVER INSTALLED AND A HUGE GAP WAS FOUND BETWEEN THEM ( I PURCHASED THIS CAR ONE YEAR AGO). THE CODES FOR THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ALL THREE TIMES HAVE SHOWN THE O2 SENSORS AND CATALYTIC CONVERTER. I WANT MY CAR REPAIRED PROPERLY AND MY FUNDS REIMBURSED AS THIS WOULD NOT HAVE HAPPENED IF FORD AUTO NATION PANAMA CITY WOULD HAVE REPAIRED MY VEHICLE PROPERLY WHEN WE PROVIDED THEM THE PAPERWORK REGARDING THE EMISSION RECALLS/BULLETINS.
TRANSMISSION MAKES UNUSUALLY LOUD REVVING NOISE WHEN THE GAS ENGINE TAKES OVER FOR THE ELECTRIC MOTOR. IF YOU ARE ON AN ENTRANCE RAMP TO A FREEWAY AND APPLY 1/2 PEDDLE OR MORE TO MERGE ONTO FREEWAY, IT HAS A VERY NOISY REV (TRANS) NOISE. I HAVE BEEN APPRAISING CARS FOR 25YRS IN THE RETAIL AUTO BUSINESS AND I HAVE DRIVEN OTHER MKZ HYBRIDS AND THEY DON'T MAKE AS MUCH NOISE AS THIS CAR MAKES
SHIFTING FROM GEARS 1-2 AND 3-4 ARE HARD AND/OR DELAYED. SHIFTING FROM 1-2 IS SO HARD THAT YOU HAVE TO STIFFEN YOUR NECK MUSCLES TO PREVENT AN UNCOMFORTABLE HEAD AND NECK MOVEMENT. THE ONLY TIME THIS ISN'T EXPERIENCED IS WITH 80% OR MORE THROTTLE APPLIED. THE DEALER HAS REBUILT THE TRANSMISSION, REPLACED SOLENOID ASSEMBLIES, ETC AND THE PROBLEM COMES BACK. THE DEALER HAS LOOKED AT IT ONE MORE TIME AND SAYS THEY FIND NO ISSUE THAT LINCOLN'S WARRANTY PARAMETERS WILL ALLOW THEM TO FIX.
I JUST HAD MY STATE INSPECTION IN JAN. ON 3.28.20, I GOT INTO THE CAR, STARTED IT. I PLACED THE CAR IN REVERSE, PUSHED ON THE BRAKE PEDAL AS I PARK ON A SLIGHT INCLINE. I FELT A RESISTANCE AND THE PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR. THE VEHICLE DID STOP. UNSURE OF WHAT HAPPENED, I PUT IT IN PARK AND I APPLIED THE EMERGENCY BRAKE. AS I WAS PARTIALLY IN TRAFFIC PUT IT IN DRIVE TO GO FORWARD AND USED THE EMERGENCY BRAKE AGAIN, PUT IT IN PARK. TRIED BRAKE PEDAL AGAIN, IT PUMPED TO NOR MALFUNCTIONED POSITION. THINKING IT WAS A SYSTEM GLITCH, I TRIED AGAIN. WHEN I PUSHED THE BRAKE THIS TIME TO PLACE IT IN REVERSE, IT WENT TO THE FLOOR AGAIN. TURNED CAR OFF AND EXITED TO LOOK. SAW BRAKE FLUID ON THE GROUND AROUND THE FRONT PASSENGER TIRE. CALLED FOR A FLAT BED TOW. IT WENT TO PEP BOYS. THEY SAID THE FRONT PASSENGER BRAKE HOSE HAD BUBBLED AND SPLIT. I REQUESTED THEY CHECK ALL THE HOSES. THE FRONT DRIVER ALSO HAD A BUBBLE DEFECT. THEY REPLACED BOTH. I AM THANKFUL IT HAPPENED AS IT DID BECAUSE I GO DOWN A STEEP, DOWNHILL MOUNTAIN BACK ROAD TO GO HOME. THEY MADE THE REPAIRS AND CHECKED EVERYTHING IN THE SYSTEM, ALL ELSE IS WELL. THEY GAVE ME THE HOSES BECAUSE THEY SAID FOR THE MILEAGE AND AGE, THIS SHOULD NOT HAVE HAPPENED. NOTHING WAS NOTED AT THE TIME OF INSPECTION EITHER, AT THE SAME PLACE. I FOUND NO RECALL OR BULLETIN ON THIS. IT NEEDS INVESTIGATING BEFORE THERE IS A TRAGEDY.
DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEED IN THE MIDDLE LANE DURING HEAVY RAIN. SUDDENLY THE STEERING BECAME ALMOST RIGID. FORTUNATELY WE WERE ABLE TO GET TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD WITHOUT INCIDENT. THE CAR HAD RECENTLY BEEN RECALLED AND REPAIRED REGARDING THE BOLTS ON THE POWER STEERING ASSIST MODULE. OBVIOUSLY THERE REMAINS AN INHERENT DESIGN FLAW IN THE STEERING ASSIST FUNCTION, DISABLING STEERING CAPABILITY THAT COULD HAVE PROVEN FATAL. THE STEERING MODULE HAS BEEN REPLACED BUT WE HAVE LOST CONFIDENCE IN THE VEHICLE.
THE FUEL DOOR LATCH GETS LOOSE AND OPENS BY ITSELF. IT BECOMES A SAFETY CONCERN ESPECIALLY ON A HIGHWAY THE FUEL DOOR MIGHT COME OFF. WHEN REVIEWING THIS PROBLEM WE FOUND MANY FORD VEHICLES HAS THIS ISSUE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 LINCOLN MKZ. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DEPRESSING THE BRAKE PEDAL TO THE STOP THE VEHICLE, THE PEDAL EXTENDED TO THE FLOOR. WHILE INSPECTING THE VEHICLE, IT WAS DISCOVERED THAT BRAKE FLUID HAD LEAKED FROM THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE WHEEL. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE LOCAL DEALER HINES PARK LINCOLN LOCATED AT 40601 ANN ARBOR RD, PLYMOUTH, MI 48170, WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE BRAKE LINE HAD RUPTURED. THE BRAKE LINE WAS REPLACED AND THE FAILURE WAS REMEDIED. APPROXIMATELY 9 MONTHS LATER, THE VEHICLE EXPERIENCED THE SAME FAILURE ON THE FRONT PASSENGER'S SIDE BRAKE LINE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 70,000.
DRIVING HOME AT RUSH HOUR AND CAR SUDDENLY LOST ENGINE POWER, NO RESPONSE WHEN PUSHING ACCELERATOR, MULTIPLE DASH LIGHTS CAME IN. UNABLE TO TRAVEL MORE THEN 5-MPH.HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES IN THE FOLLOWING HOURS, TOWED TO DEALER.
WHILE DRIVING, SOMETIMES THE HORN COMPLETELY STOPS WORKING, AT THE SAME TIME THE HORN STOPS WORKING I CAN REMOVE MY SEATBELT OR HAVE A PASSENGER NOT WEARING A SEAT BELT AND THE SEAT BELT INDICATOR AND CHIME DOES NOT COME ON, I HAVE BUCKLED AND UNBUCKLED THE SEATBELT TO TRY TO GET THE INDICATOR TO COME ON AND NOTHING HAPPENS. I AM WORRIED THAT THE SEAT SENSORS OR SEAT BELT LATCH ARE DEFECTIVE ALSO THE HORN ISSUE MAY BE ANOTHER UNDERLYING PROBLEM.

PER OUR STANDARDS, WE COMPLETE A 150 POINT INSPECTION OF EVERY VEHICLE HOWEVER THIS WAS NOT THE CASE. I HAD SO MANY ISSUES FROM TRANSMISSION FAILURE, SPEAKERS NOT WORKING, SPEED ISSUES WITH CAR NOT ACCELERATING TO TIRES NOT BEING THE CORRECT ONES SO I WOULD SLIDE ON RAINING DAYS AND ALMOST CRASH ON 3 OCCASIONS.
