MY 03 LINCOLN NAVIGATOR HAS BEEN HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE POWER RUNNING BOARDS ON THE DRIVER SIDE. AFTER CAR IS STARTED THE RUNNING BOARD REMAINS DEPLOYED AND WILL NOT RETURN TO THE "IN" POSITION UNTIL VEHICLE HAS EXCEEDED MORE THAN 5MPH. THE RUNNING BOARD WILL GO IN AND OUT EVERY TIME THE VEHICLE COMES TO A STOP. THE PROBLEMS TEMPS TO BE WORST ON HOT DAYS. I HAVE NOT DONE ANYTHING TO FIX THE PROBLEM YET, BUT AFTER RESEARCHING AND READING SOME BLOGS ABOUT LINCOLN'S 03 NAVIGATOR I SAW THAT THERE IS A LOT OF OTHER NAVIGATOR OWNERS THAT ARE OR HAD EXPERIENCED THE SAME PROBLEM. WHEN THE RUNNING BOARD DOES NOT GO IN, IT MAKES THE AIR SUSPENSION NOT INFLATE AS IT SHOULD. THIS MAKES THE VEHICLE FEEL LIKE IF IT IS HEAVIER THAN IT IS AND AT TIME MAKING IT HARD TO HANDLE ON THE ROAD. WITH THIS I HAVE NOTICED THAT SINCE THE SUSPENSION IS NOT RUNNING OK THE CAR FEELS LIKE IF ITS DRAGGING, WHICH PUTS EXTRA STRESS ON THE TIRES, WEARING OUT THE TIRES FASTER THAN IT SHOULD. *TR
A POPPING SOUND CAME FROM BENEATH THE HOOD OF MY 2003 LINCOLN NAVIGATOR. AFTER TAKING THE CAR TO MY LOCAL FORD DEALERSHIP SERVICE CENTER, I LEARNED THAT A SPARK PLUG EJECTED AND DAMAGED THE CYLINDER HEAD. THE DEALERSHIP IS RECOMMENDING A NEW ENGINE FOR $7,5000 OR REPLACING THE CYLINDER HEAD FOR $4,200. MY VEHICLE IS STILL COVERED BY AN EXTENDED WARRANTY THROUGH GE CAPITAL. HOWEVER, THEY REFUSE TO REPAIR THE CYLINDER HEAD (EVEN THOUGH FULLY COVERED BY THE WARRANTY) BECAUSE THE DAMAGE WAS CAUSED BY A SPARK PLUG, WHICH IS NOT COVERED. *TR
CAN YOU CHECK OUT 03 LINCOLN NAVIGATOR AIR SUSPENSION BECAUSE MY KEEPS FAILING COMPRESSOR AND HEIGHT SENSOR CAUSING ROUGH RIDES CHECKED ONLINE SEEMS LIKE ALOT OF PEOPLE HAVE SAME PROBLEM LIKE ME TOO. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 LINCOLN NAVIGATOR. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DRIVER'S SEAT FAILED TO ADJUST AND COULD NOT BE MOVED FORWARD. THE METAL BAR FOR THE DRIVER'S SEAT FRACTURED AND THE SEAT BECAME LOCKED IN PLACE, WHICH WAS ABNORMALLY FAR FROM THE STEERING WHEEL. AS A RESULT, THE CONTACT WAS UNABLE TO REACH THE STEERING WHEEL OR THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO ADVISED THAT THE METAL BAR ADJUSTER FOR THE DRIVER'S SEAT FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 81,000.
HAD SMOKE IN PASSENGER AREA OF CAR. DEALERSHIP STATES IT WAS INSTRUMENT CLUSTER, BUT HAS BEEN UNABLE TO FIND AN INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FOR VEHICLE TO THIS DATE AND STATES THEY ARE "BACKORDERED:. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 LINCOLN NAVIGATOR. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH THE FRONT AND REAR SUSPENSION FAILED AND CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO BOUNCE ABNORMALLY. WHILE TURNING THE STEERING WHEEL HE COULD FEEL THE BODY OF THE TRUCK TOUCH THE TIRE. THE ABS LIGHTS ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENTAL PANEL PRIOR TO THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS INSPECTED AND REPAIRED IN APRIL 2008 AND HAD NOT BEEN INSPECTED FOR THE CURRENT FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 140,000. MY WIFE DROVE OUR 2003 LINCOLN NAVIGATOR TO WORK AND ALL WAS FINE, WHEN SHE WENT OUT TO GO TO LUNCH SHE STARTED THE VEHICLE AND PRESSED THE BRAKE PEDAL AND IT WENT ALMOST ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR. THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS NORMALLY MUSHY, BUT THIS IS UNSAFE AND SHE ASKED ME TO TAKE IT FOR THE REST OF THE DAY. I CHECKED IT OUT AND THE PEDAL, ALTHOUGH IT GOES ALMOST TO THE FLOOR NOW, STILL APPLIES BRAKES, JUST AT A MUCH GREATER DISTANCE THAN WHAT HAS BEEN NORMAL. THIS CONDITION IS EXTREMELY UNSAFE, IF THIS HAD OCCURRED DURING DRIVING AN ACCIDENT WOULD MOST SURELY HAVE OCCURRED, POSSIBLY SERIOUS. I HAVE A FRIEND AT WORK WHO SAID HER HUSBAND WAS HAVING THE EXACT SAME ISSUE WITH THEIR 2005 LINCOLN NAVIGATOR. THE DEALERSHIP REPLACED THE MASTER CYLINDER AND IT DIDN'T FIX IT, AFTER MUCH COMPLAINING THE DEALERSHIP REPLACED ALL THE COMPONENTS OF THE BRAKE SYSTEM BECAUSE THEY DIDN'T KNOW WHAT THE PROBLEM WAS, THIS HAS SEEMED TO FIX IT FOR THE LAST 3 MONTHS. I READ ON THE FOLLOWING SITE SIMILAR COMPLAINTS, BUT BOTH OURS AND MY FRIENDS OCCURS AT ALL SPEEDS NOT JUST BELOW 30 MPH BUT MUCH HIGHER, AS SOME OF THE FORUM HAVE REPORTED. I BOUGHT A USED 2003 LINCOLN NAVIGATOR WITH A BIG 5.4-LITER V-8 ENGINE FROM WITTMEIER FORD IN CHICO, CA. IN 2004. THE NAVIGATOR LOOKED LIKE A GREAT DEAL. THE PRICE WAS $43,000. THE NAVIGATOR HAD ONLY 23,000 MILES ON THE ODOMETER. BUT THE GREAT DEAL BLEW UP IN MY FACE WHEN THE USED LINCOLN NAVIGATOR SPIT A SPARK PLUG AT 81,000 MILES. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AS THE TRUCK BEGAN TO LOSE POWER. AS WE DROVE THE CAR IT CONTINUED TO BACK FIRE. THE IGNITION PACK FOR THAT PLUG WAS SHREDDED. I CALLED WITTMEIER SERVICE AND THEY SAID THEY KNEW NOTHING OF THE PROBLEM. THE THREADS IN THE NUMBER 3 SPARK PLUG HOLE IN THE NAVIGATOR WERE STRIPPED. WE NEEDED TO RE-THREAD THE NUMBER 3 SPARK PLUG HOLE AND REPLACE THE IGNITION PACK. I READ ON THE INTERNET WHERE THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM AND IT WILL LIKELY HAPPEN AGAIN. I BELIEVE FORD SHOULD TAKE CARE OF THIS PROBLEM. *TR
THE TRANSMISSION SHIFT INTERLOCK HAS FAILED - EFFECTIVELY LEAVING THE VEHICLE STUCK IN PARK WHILE MANEUVERING THE VEHICLE FROM A STOPPED POSITION AND ATTEMPTING TO MOVE FORWARD. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED. LUCKILY, IT WAS NOT IN AN EMERGENCY SITUATION WHERE WE NEEDED TO MOVE RIGHT AWAY AS INDICATED BY A PREVIOUS POSTER. FOR SOME REASON, THE TRANSISTOR IN THE TRANSMISSION SHIFT INTERLOCK FAILS, EFFECTIVELY LEAVING THE VEHICLE IN PARK. AS THERE IS NOT A SAFETY OVERRIDE SWITCH THAT IS HANDY, OR A SLOT TO PUT A KEY IN THE CONSOLE TO OVERRIDE THE INTERLOCK - YOU ARE BASICALLY STRANDED. PER THE OWNERS MANUAL, YOU HAVE TO REMOVE A PORTION OF THE CONSOLE WITH A SCREWDRIVER (POTENTIALLY DAMAGING IT) AND MANUALLY PUSH A LEVER - IN ORDER TO MOVE THE VEHICLE. THIS IS RATHER DANGEROUS, AND I AM NOW ON MY THIRD ONE - THERE ARE NO MODIFICATIONS TO THIS VEHICLE. *TR
MY AIR SUSPENSION WENT OUT THE FIRST TIME IN MARCH OF 2008, IT JUST QUIT WORKING. I THEN PAID $500 TO GET IT REPLACED. THEN AGAIN IN 2011 IT WENT OUT 2 DIFFERENT TIME, IN WHICH THIS TIME I HAD THE COMPRESSOR REBUILT. AND AGAIN IT WENT OUT OF MAY OF 2012. THIS TIME I HAVE NOT HAD IT REPLACED, I ONLY DRIVE THE SUV WHEN I HAVE TO. THERE ARE SO MANY PROBLEMS WITH THE AIR SUSPENSIONS ON THE 2003 LINCOLN NAVIGATOR THAT FORD SHOULD MAKE THE PART GOOD. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 LINCOLN NAVIGATOR. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING 35 MPH WHEN HE DISCOVERED THAT THE HEADLIGHTS WERE ABNORMALLY BRIGHT. THE CONTACT WAS UNABLE TO ADJUST THE LAMPS AND THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THEY WERE UNABLE TO PROVIDE ANY ASSISTANCE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED WHO ALSO OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 112,000.
SEVERAL ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS WITH THE VEHICLE SINCE PURCHASE. TOOK BACK TO DEALER WHO EXPLAINED THERE WAS NOT A PROBLEM. RECENTLY, AIR SUSPENSION SYSTEM FAILED. I CHANGED FUSES WITH NO RELIEF. HAD SEARCHED FOR MECHANIC OTHER THAN DEALER TO LOOK AT VEHICLE BUT NO MECHANIC WILL LOOK AT OR SERVICE BECAUSE THEY SAY THAT THERE IS ALWAYS A PROBLEM WITH THE AIR SUSPENSION ON NAVIGATORS AND I WOULD NOT FIND ANY MECHANIC WHO WOULD TOUCH IT. TODAY MY VEHICLE IS SITTING IN FRONT OF THE HOUSE BECAUSE OF THE AIR SUSPENSION PROBLEM. I DON'T TRUST THE DEALER AS THEY ARE ALWAYS TRYING TO GET ME TO PURCHASE A NEW CAR FROM THEM AND WHEN I DON'T THEY OVERCHARGE ME FOR REPAIRS. *TR

ALSO, A "CHECK THE SUSPENSION" MESSAGE ILLUMINATED INDICATING THAT THE REAR SHOCKS FAILED TO WORK. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER, WHO INDICATED THAT THE PASSENGER SIDE RUNNING BOARD SWITCH NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER SEVERAL TIMES; HOWEVER, THE TECHNICIAN WAS NOT ABLE TO REPLICATE AND DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 55,000.
WHILE DRIVING IN A PARKING LOT A CAR PULLED OUT IN FRONT OF MY 2003 NAVIGATOR AS I HIT THE BRAKES I FELT MY SUV DROP FROM THE FRONT. THE TIRE SKIDDED AND I HIT THE CAR THAT WAS PULLING OUT. I OWN A 2003 LINCOLN NAVIGATOR, OVER THE PAST TWO YEARS MY TRUCK HAS PRIMARILY SAT IN THE GARAGE, THE SUSPENSION WENT OUT TWO YEARS AGO, WE WERE TOLD THE COMPRESSOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED, WE DID THIS TO THE TUNE OF $599.00, AFTER THE COMPRESSOR WAS REPLACED MY TRUCK RAN OKAY, IT NEVER SEEMED QUITE THE SAME, AFTER ALMOST 5 MONTHS THE COMPRESSOR WENT OUT AGAIN, THIS TIME WE WERE TOLD IT NEEDED A NEW COMPRESSOR AND AIR BAGS AND WOULD COST APROX. $1,300.00 AND COULD COST MORE IF OTHER SUSPENSION ISSUES WERE DISCOVERED, WE CANNOT AFFORD TO HAVE REPAIRS DONE DUE TO SEVERAL REASONS FINANCIALLY, THIS IS MY ONLY VEHICLE AND IT CANNOT BE DRIVEN, THE BODY OF THE TRUCK SITS SO LOW, WE'VE BEEN TOLD IT LOOKS LIKE WE MAY HAVE AXEL DAMAGE FROM THE IMPROPER DISTRIBUTION OF BODY WEIGHT ON THE VEHICLE DUE TO THE SUSPENSION BEING OUT. OUR LOCAL LINCOLN DEALER (APROX. 20 MILES AWAY) SAID WE NEED TO BRING THE VEHICLE TO THEM TO HAVE IT LOOKED AT?, OUR TRUCK IS NOT DRIVABLE, I ATTEMPTED TO DRIVE IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND GOT ABOUT 2.5 BLOCKS FROM OUR HOME AND HAD TO TURN AROUND AND GO BACK HOME, THE VIOLENT BOUNCING AND ROCKING GIVES A WHIPPING MOVEMENT THAT CAUSED MY HEAD TO CONTINUOUSLY HIT THE HEAD REST VERY HARD, THIS CAUSING GREAT BACK AND NECK PAIN, NOT TO MENTION CAUSE FOR ALARM ON WHAT THIS UNSAFE DRIVING IS DOING TO THE VEHICLE...I AM SO DISAPPOINTED, I AM MAKING $500.00 A MONTH PAYMENTS ON A VEHICLE I CANNOT AND HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO DRIVE OVER THE PAST TWO YEARS. THE TRANSMISSION SHIFT INTERLOCK FAILED ON THIS 2003 LINCOLN NAVIGATOR. WHEN IT FAILED, IT COULD HAVE IMPACTED THE SAFETY OF BOTH ITS PASSENGERS AND THE PASSENGERS OF OTHERS AROUND IT, AS IT WAS IN AN INTERSECTION. *TR
BOUGHT A 2003 NAVIGATOR USED IN JANUARY OF 2007. EVER SINCE THEN, THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN EXPERIENCING ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS AS IN WINDOWS GO UP WHEN YOU PUSH DOWN, THE ELECTRONIC LIFTGATE DOESN'T ALWAYS WORK, THE REAR ELECTRONIC SEATS DON'T ALWAYS WORK, THE ODOMETER READS 0 MILES TO EMPTY WHEN I HAVE A FULL TANK, FRONT AIR SUSPENSION HAS GONE TWICE NOW DUE TO AN ELECTRONICALLY SENSOR, POWER LOCKS HAVEN'T WORKED. *TR
DT*: THE CONTACT STATED WHILE TRAVELING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE HESITATED. THE DEALERSHIP REBUILT THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION, BUT THIS DID NOT REPAIR THE PROBLEM. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THE GEAR SHIFTER ASSEMBLY WAS REPLACED. THEN THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION CONTROL VALVE WAS REPLACED. THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN DRIVEN SINCE THE LAST REPAIR WAS MADE. THE CONSUMER STATED THE VEHICLE STALLED BETWEEN 20 AND 40 MPH. THE DOOR LOCK SWITCH WAS INOPERATIVE, THE MIRRORS WOULD NOT RETURN TO THEIR ORIGNAL SETTING. UPDATED 10/27/06. *JB
VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED AT MARSHALL BROS IN NEW ORLEANS, VEHICLE WAS SOLD AS A CERTIFIED VEHICLE. VEHICLE HAD TO HAVE A NEW TRANSMISSION INSTALLED 2 MONTHS AFTER VEHICLE PURCHASED. VEHICLE WAS SOLD WITH THE PROBLEM KNOWN TO DEALERSHIP. WORKER AT LOCATION STATED THEY KNEW IT AND WHEN WE PURCHASED VEHICLE, THEY INSISTED ON US BUYING AN EXTENDED WARRANTY SINCE IT WAS USED. INSISTED TO THE POINT OF GIVING POLICY AT COST, THIS WAS DUE TO KNOWN PROBLEM, TRANSMISSION CASE AND UNIT WAS SO BADLY DAMAGED THAT IT COULD NOT HAVE BEEN MISSED. PREVIOUS OWNER CONTACTED AND STATED THEY TOLD DEALERSHIP OF PROBLEM. ALSO SINCE VEHICLE WAS OWNED ELECTRICAL SYSTEM HAS GONE HAYWIRE, BATTERY NOT CHARGING PERIODICALLY, ALARM AND LIGHTS OPERATING ON THEIR OWN,LIGHTS STAYING ON, COMING ON AT NIGHT, RADIO STAYING ON DEALERSHIP STATED THEY COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG WHEN BROUGHT IN FOR ISSUES, THEY KEPT VEHICLE FOR THREE DAYS. HAPPENED SEVERAL MORE TIMES, SAME STATEMENT BY DEALER. I RESEARCHED PROBLEM ON INTERNET AND DISCOVERED TSB'S ON SAME PROBLEMS, BUT NO RECALL. BUT TSBS HAVE EXISTED SINCE 2004, DEALER KNEW WINDSHIELD LEAKS INTO COMPUTER AND MOONROOF CAN LEAK CAUSING SAME PROBLEM, DEALERSHIP DIDN'T FIX ANYTHING, THEN WHEN OUT OF WARRANTY DEALERSHIP STATES KNOWN ISSUE AND FUSE PANEL NEEDS REPLACING AT COST OF $4,000 . THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL AFTER MY RESEARCH AND SINCE THE DEALERSHIPS ARE DOING EVERYTHING THEY CAN INCLUDING LYING AND SELLING VEHICLES WITH KNOWN PROBLEMS. BBB WAS CONTACTED AND IN PROCESS OF HAVING PRESS INVOLVED. PLEASE LOOK AT ALL COMPLAINTS ON ISSUE AND MAKE A RECALL NECESSARY. THIS IS A DANGEROUS PROBLEM, VEHICLES WRECKING, PUTTING DRIVERS IN DANGEROUS SITUATIONS. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 LINCOLN NAVIGATOR. THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE HATCH BACK DOOR WAS RUSTED . THE DEALER WAS AWARE OF THE FAILURE, BUT OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE BECAUSE THE VEHICLE WAS NO LONGER UNDER WARRANTY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS ALSO AWARE OF THE FAILURE. NO REPAIRS WERE PERFORMED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 35,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 83,000.
MY 2003 LINCOLN NAVIGATOR ULTIMATE @ 84,000 MILES BLEW 2 SPARK PLUGS THROUGH THE ALUMINUM HEAD OF THE 5.4 LITER TRITON ENGINE. IT IS MY UNDERSTANDING THAT THIS ALUMINUM HEAD HAS BEEN REDESIGNED BY FORD AND THAT THERE IS ALSO AN AFTER-MARKET FIX TO THIS INCREASING PROBLEM THAT RE-THREADS THE SPARK PLUGS, BUT THAT SAID FIX ALSO GETS FORCED THROUGH SAID INADEQUATELY ENGINEERED ALUMINUM HEAD. FOR REFUSES TO PAY FOR THE REPLACEMENT OF SAID HEAD AND SAID REPAIR IS ESTIMATED IN THE THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS. I REPLACED THE MELTED COIL AND BARELY WAS ABLE TO THREAD NEW PLUGS INTO PLACE, BUT I AM CONCERNED ABOUT BEING STRANDED SOMEWHERE IN MY CAR. I THINK THAT FORD SHOULD HAVE TO RECALL ALL OF THESE ENGINES AND REPLACE THE OLD HEADS WITH NEW, BETTER ENGINEERED HEADS. *JB
MY CAR IS 2003 LINCOLN NAVIGATOR. ONE OF THE 2ND ROW SEAT (BEHIND THE DRIVER SIDE) HAS A DEFECTIVE SEAT BELT (THE CONNECTOR IS IN THE WRONG DIRECTION, SO I NEED TO TWIST THE SEAT BELT IN ORDER TO SECURE THE SEAT BELT). I HAVE BROUGHT MY CAR TO THE DEALER (STILL UNDER WARRANTY) AND THE DEALER STATED THAT IT IS NORMAL AND IT IS ON OTHER NAVIGATOR TOO. THE DEALER REFUSED TO FIX THE TWISTED SEAT BELT. *JB

THE BOARD HAS NOT DEPLOYED SINCE THIS INCIDENT. TAKEN THE VEHICLE IN FOR REPAIR AND PARTS (MOTOR) ARE NOT COVERED BY EXTENDED WARRANTY. SAME PROBLEM HAPPENED AROUND 40K MILES. DRIVING ON INTERSTATE; CRUISE CONTROL SET AT 70 MPH; ENGINE REVVED TO FULL SPEED AND COULD NOT BE DISENGAGED BY THE OFF OR BY CHANGING SPEED OF CRUISE; BRAKING WOULD SLOW THE VEHICLE TEMPORARILY; WAS ONLY ABLE TO STOP THE VEHICLE BY BRAKING WHICH DID NOT STOP THE VEHICLE BUT SLOWED IT SOMEWHAT AND THEN I PUT THE VEHICLE IN NEUTRAL AND TURNED OFF THE IGNITION. THE SUNROOF OF MY 2003 LINCOLN NAVIGATOR HAS A DEFECT IN THAT IN HEAVY RAIN THE TRACKS OF THE SUN ROOF FILL WITH WATER AND OVERFLOW INTO THE HEADLINER (INTERIOR) AND LEAK INTO THE CAR FROM VARIOUS LOCATIONS SUCH AS THE DVD PLAYER. THIS HAS HAPPENED 2 TIMES SINCE OWNERSHIP. WAS TOLD BY THE LINCOLN DEALER THAT IT WAS A DEFECT IN DESIGN AND THEY COULD NOT FIX IT. THEY SAID THEY WOULD REPAIR ANY DAMAGE CAUSED BY THE PROBLEM, BUT ONLY IF THE CAR WAS STILL "IN WARRANTY". THERE SEEMS TO BE A PROBLEM WITH THE DRAIN HOLES IN THE SUNROOF THAT DOES NOT ALLOW FOR PROPER DRAINING. I HAVE TALKED TO ONE OTHER OWNER OF AN FORD EXPEDITION AND FOUND HE HAD THE SAME PROBLEM. HE WAS ALSO TOLD IT WAS A DESIGN FLAW IN THE SUNROOF. I THINK FORD WAS AWARE OF THIS PROBLEM AND SHOULD HAVE ADVISED ME AND ALL OTHERS BEFORE WE PURCHASED THE CAR. EVERYTIME IT RAINS HEAVY THE RAIN LEAKS INTO THE VEHICLE AND I AM AFRAID IT WILL CAUSE AN ELECTRICAL SHORT AND FIRE IN THE CAR. THE WATER TRAVELS DOWN THE HEADLINER INTO THE DASHBOARD AREA AND ALSO THE DVD AS STATED ABOVE. IF YOU CAN LOOK INTO THIS PROBLEM AND SEE HOW MANY PEOPLE ARE EFFECTIVE BY THIS I WOULD APPRCIATE IT. THE ORIGINAL WINDSHIELD WIPER LEFT A BLACK SMEAR ON THE WINDOW WHEN IT RAINED WHICH MADE IT DIFFICULT TO SEE. THE FRONT DOOR MOLDING WARPED. THE CONSUMER NO LONGER WASN'T THE VEHICLE AND HAS REQUESTED A REFUND. *NM
AFTER PURCHASING A 2003 NAVIGATOR WITH POWER RUNNING BOARDS, I NOTICED THAT THE RUNNING BOARDS DO NOT ALWAYS DEPLOY (IE; MOVE OUT) WHEN A DOOR IS OPENED. I HAVE WORKED WITH MY LOCAL DEALER TO GET THE MATTER RESOLVED AND THE MANUFACTURER CONTINUES TO EXTEND THE DATE THAT THEY PROMISE THERE WILL BE A FIX. I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR MORE THAN A YEAR. THE FIRST FIX DATE WAS OCT'03, THEN NOV'03,THEN DEC '03 AND NOW DEC '04. THIS CAN BE A SERIOUS SAFETY PROBLEM IS SOMEONE WAS TO OPEN THE DOOR AND TRY TO STEP OUT OF THE VEHICLE WITH NOTHING TO STEP ON TO -- ESPECIALLY IF YOU FACTOR IN THE HEIGHT OF THE VEHICLE. LINCOLN HAS MOST DEFINATELY DROPPED THE BALL ON THIS ONE AND SEEMS TO NOT VIEW THE MATTER AS A HIGH PRIORITY. I CALLED THE LINCOLN CUSTOMER HOTLINE AND THEY HAVE NOT BEEN HELPFUL, NOR HAVE THEY BEEN ABLE TO GET BACK TO ME WITH ANY ANSWER.
