WITHOUT WARNING THE VEHICLE STALLED WHILE THE CONSUMER WAS DRIVING AT AN UNDETERMINED SPEED. THE CONSUMER CONTACTED THE DEALER ON FOUR SEPARATE OCCASIONS AND THE PROBLEM STILL CONTINUED. *AK WHEN IDLING THE VEHICLE MADE A PRESSURE LIKE NOISE THAT WOULD GET LOUDER, THE LOW OIL INDICATOR LIGHT WOULD COME ON, THE VALVES HAD A TAPPING SOUND THAT WAS ABNORMAL, THERE WAS A METAL SCRAPING SOUND WHICH AS IF THE BOTTOM WAS GOING TO DROP OUT, THERE WERE EXHAUST NOISES ALONG WITH A POPPING SOUND, AND THERE WAS CONTINUOUS STALLING. *SC THE CONSUMER STATED THERE WAS AN ONGOING DISPUTE REGARDING THE ODOMETER READING. ALSO THE BRAKES AND DOOR LOCKED NEVER WORKED. *JB
THE RETRACTABLE POWER RUNNING BOARDS ON MY 2003 LINCOLN NAVIGATOR INTERMITTENTLY FAIL TO DEPLOY AND/OR RETRACT. AS A RESULT OF THE FAILURE TO DEPLOY, I FELL WHILE EXITING THE VEHICLE, HITTING MY HEAD ON THE GROUND, INJURING MY LOWER BACK (LUMBAR)IN TWO PLACES AND FRACTURING MY (THORACIC) SPINE AT T-12. I'VE RESEARCHED THIS ON LINE AND FOUND SEVERAL OTHERS VEHICLE OWNERS WHO HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM WITH THE RUNNING BOARDS. I'M TOLD THAT FORD HAS A SERVICE BULLETIN #17249 THAT DESCRIBES THE MALFUNCTION. FORD AND THE DEALER HAVE BEEN UNABLE OR UNWILLING TO REPAIR MY VEHICLE. I HAVE LEFT IT WITH THE DEALER FOR REPAIRS NUMEROUS TIMES, TWICE ONE OF THE RUNNING BOARDS WAS STUCK IN THE OUTER POSITION AT THE TIME IT WAS LEFT FOR REPAIR. I HAVE MET WITH THE FACTORY ENGINEER ON TWO OCCASIONS. I HAVE MADE NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS AND TELPHONE CALLS TO THE LINCOLN CUSTOMER SERVICEHOTLINE AND MET WITH SMITHTOWN LINCOLN MERCURY'S PREVIOUS AND CURRENT SERVICE MANAGERS. A DANGEROUS CONDITION EXISTS. HOPEFULLY YOU WILL TAKE AN INTEREST AND FORCE THEM TO TAKE WHATEVER ACTION IS REQUIRED TO CORRECT THE MALFUNCTION BEFORE OTHERS ALSO SUSTAIN SERIOUS INJURIES. *SC
THE DRIVER HAD A HARD TIME READING THE DASHBOARD PANEL. THE DEALER WAS AWARE OF THE PROBLEM. *AK THE LIGHTS ON THE DASH WERE TOO DIM TO READ IN BRIGHT SUNLIGHT AND VISIBLE IN THE SHADE. THIS PROBLEM CAUSED THE CONSUMER TO MISS THE "DOOR AJAR/TAILGATE" FOR THIRTY MINUTES WHICH ALLOWED EXHAUST FUMES TO ENTER THE VEHICLE. *SCC *JB
WHILE DRIVING VEHICLE LOWERS WITHOUT WARNING, CAUSING INADEQUATE SUSPENSION. *AK
CONSUMER STATES IS HAVING TROUBLE WITH FRONT AND BACK SUSPENSION. WHEN COMING OUT OF DRIVEWAY VEHICLE BOTTOMS' OUT. ALSO, WHILE DRIVING CAN FEEL EVERY BUMP. VEHICLE IS SUPPOSE TO BE DESIGNED TO ABSORB BUMPS. HE HAS TAKEN VEHICLE TO THE DEALER/MECHANIC 4 TIMES, AND EACH TIME THEY HAVE DONE MINOR REPAIRS. FINALLY CONSUMER WAS TOLD THAT THEY KNEW THE PROBLEM, BUT COULD NOT FIX IT. DEALER HAD CALLED THE ENGINEERS FROM THE LINCOLN MANUFACTURER TO TAKE A LOOK AT VEHICLE AND SEE IF THEY COULD REPAIR IT. *AK
I WAS DRIVING DOWN DRIVEWAY AND HIT THE MEMORY SEAT BUTTON MY MY NAVIAGATOR AND THE SEAT STARTED TO MOVE FORWARD AND KEPT GOING FORWARD UNTIL IT REACHED THE VERY FARTHEST IT COULD GO FORWARD. THE LIGHTS INSIDE WERE GOING CRAZY AND THE OUTSIDE MIRRORS KEPT GOING UP AND DOWN AND ACTING CRAZY. I TOOK THE VEHICLE IN ON 8/20 AND THEY FOUND 7 ELECTRICAL FAULTS WITH THE VEHICLE. ON AUGUST 25, 2003, FOUND OUT I HAD BEEN CARRYING TRIPLETS BUT LOST TWO AND AM NOW PREGNANT WITH ONE. DO NOT KNOW IF THAT WAS RELATED OR NOT. ON AUGUST 30TH THE BACK LIFTGATE IS SUPPOSED TO HAVE SENORS IN IT AND ALMOST SHUT AND TRAPPED ME IN IT. LUCKILY I GOT OUT UNHARMED. SCARED TO THINK WHAT MIGHT HAVE HAPPENED IF IT WERE ONE OF MY OTHER CHILDREN. THE VEHICLE IS CURRENTLY SITTING IN A BAY AT THE SERVICE DEPT. FORD TOLD THEM NOT TO WORK ON IT AND I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT IS GOING ON WITH IT.*AK
WHILE DRIVING AT 30-40 MPH CONSUMER FELT THAT VEHICLE ROSE IN THE REAR AND TILTED ON DRIVER'S SIDE. VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER, BUT THE CAUSE COULD NOT BE DETERMINED. ON ANOTHER OCCASION THE SAME THING OCCURRED, BUT THE TILT WAS ON THE PASSENGER'S SIDE, AND AGAIN THE DEALER COULD NOT FIND THE CAUSE. THE CONSUMER FELT THAT THE SUSPENSION WAS DEFECTIVE.*AK
ON 7/31 I HAD A TIRE PRESSURE SYSTEM FAULT ERROR AND TOOK IN FOR PROBLEM TO BE FIXED. ON 8/17 WHILE DRIVING VEHICLE I WAS SHOVED INTO STEERING WHEEL AS FAR UP AS IT WOULD GO AND MIRRORS WERE GOING CRAZY ON OUTSIDE. I 'M THREE MONTHS PREGNANT AND I ALREADY LOST 2 OF THE 3 TRIPLETS I FOUND OUT ON 8/25. NOT SURE IF THIS IS WHY OR NOT. ON TOP OF THAT HAD ANOTHER TIRE PRESSURE SYSTEM FAULT ERROR. THEY PUT ON MACHINE AND FOUND 7 ERROR CODES AND SAID THEY FIXED, IF IT HAPPENED AGAIN TO BRING IT BACK. ON 8/30 THE LIGHTS WENT NUTS, THE BACK LIFTGATE ALMOST CRUSHED ME IN IT. LUCKILY, I GOT MY HEAD OUT FROM THE BOTTOM JUST IN TIME BEFORE GATE CLOSED. THE SENSORS/ELECTRICAL SYSTEM WERE NOT WORKING. THIS IS MAJOR TO ME, IF ONE OF MY CHILDREN HAD BEEN BACK THERE AND DIDN'T THINK FAST ENOUGH - I CRINGE TO THINK THAT THEY WOULD HAVE BEEN KILLED. I HAVE A CASE OPEN WITH FORD RIGHT NOW AS WE SPEAK. I'M SO SCARED TO GET THIS VEHICLE BACK BECAUSE THAT LIFT GATE COULD HAVE KILLED ME AND WHAT IF I GET THIS BACK AND THEY FIX THESE 5 ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS THEY ARE WORKING ON NOW AND THEN I FIND OUT THE HARD WAY THAT THERE ARE MORE. IT SEEMS THEY FIX ONE PROBLEM AND I HAVE MORE. IT'S LIKE ONE FIX AND IT TRIGGERS MORE. PLEASE ASSIST ME ANYWAY POSSIBLE. I RESEARCHED AND ACCORDING TO OHIO LAW THEY HAVE ONE OPPORTUNITY TO FIX THE LIFTGATE AND IF IT DOESN'T THEN IT IS A LEMON. HOWEVER, I'M AFRAID THEY AREN'T GOING TO BE ABLE TO FIX THE ELECTRICAL MESS IN THIS VEHICLE. ALL I WANT IS MY PURCHASE PRICE BACK. I'M PAYING OVER $1000 A MONTH ON THIS VEHICLE (WHICH IS MORE THAN MY RENT) AND THIS IS THE MOST EXPENSIVE CAR I HAVE EVER PURCHASED AND IT IS ALSO THE MOST DANGEROUS. PLEASE HELP. JULY 22, 2003 I PURCHASED A NEW 2003 LINCOLN NAVIGATOR, VIN# [XXX]. AFTER TWO DAYS, I NOTICED EXCESSIVE WIND NOISE COMING FROM SUN ROOF. ON THE THIRD DAY, THE SUSPENSION MALFUNCTIONED WARNING INDICATOR BEGAN BUZZING. SINCE THAT TIME, THE BODY OF THE NAVIGATOR BEGAN HITTING ALL FOUR TIRES WHILE DRIVING AND BOTTOMING OUT EVEN WHEN DRIVING OVER SMALL BUMPS. I ALMOST HAD AN ACCIDENT, DUE TO THE SUDDEN ROCKING OF THE BODY OF THE NAVIGATOR. I BROUGHT THE TRUCK BACK 3 TIMES FOR THE SAME PROBLEM SEPTEMBER 2ND. [XXX] STATED, I WILL NOT TRY TO FIX THE TRUCK AGAIN UNTIL, FORD ENGINEER [XXX] LOOKS AT THE PROBLEM.THE ENGINEER WILL ONLY BE AVAILABLE ON SEPTEMBER 11TH AND MY TRUCK WILL JUST HAVE TO SIT ON HIS LOT UNTIL THEN. NO OTHER SOLUTION WAS GIVEN TO ME. NO LOANER CAR,NO ALTERNATIVES. I DID SPEAK TO THE FORD REPRESENTATIVE, AFTER A MONTH OF COMPLAINING TO CUSTOMER RELATIONS AND ASKING FOR MEDIATION ABOUT THE LEMON LAW AND SUSPENSION OF MY TRUCK PAYMENTS UNTIL THE PROBLEM IS RESOLVED. I HAVE BEEN REFERRED FROM ONE PERSON TO THE NEXT STARTING WITH THE FORD FINANCE DEPARTMENT, TO FORD CUSTOMER RELATIONS, TO THE SELLING DEALER GENERAL MANAGER, [XXX] OF DAMICO LINCOLN MERCURY, TO [XXX] SERVICE MANAGER OF SENTRY SOUTH LINCOLN MERCURY, AND ENDING WITH [XXX]SERVICE MANAGER OF OWEN MOTORS. THE TRUCK IS A LEMON AS THE LAW STATES, IT HAS HAD THREE REPAIR ATTEMPTS, TWENTY-FIVE DAYS AT REPAIR SHOP, NEW VEHICLE, (THIRTY DAYS OLD). TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETINS FOR 2003 LINCOLN NAVIGATOR AIR SUSPENSION- REPEAT COMPRESSOR DRIER FAILURES HAS BEEN ISSUED SINCE MAY/03 TO LINCOLN SERVICE DEPARTMENTS. THESE REMAINING DEFECTS SUBSTANTIALLY IMPAIR THE USE, MARKET VALUE OR SAFETY OF MY VEHICLE. I AM HEREBY ALLOWING YOU ONE FINAL REPAIR OPPORTUNITY. 2003 LINCOLN NAVIGATOR - LOOSE FRONT DOOR TRIM PANELS - RATTLES OCCURS AT SPEEDS GREATER THAT 50 MPH. DEALER INSPECTED PANELS, BUT INSISTED THAT LOOSE PANELS WERE NORMAL CONDITIONS. SYMPTOM IDENTICAL TO NHTSA COMPLAINT NUMBER 10005562. *AK
2003 LINCOLN NAVIGATOR ULTRA HIGH SPEED WHEEL SHIMMY. ORIGINAL WHEELS REPLACED BY DEALER DUE TO OUT OF ROUND DEFECT. WHEELS REBALANCEDW.HEEL SHIMMY REDUCED BUT NOT ELIMINATED.*AK
EXCESSIVE WIND AND ROAD NOISE IN CAB OF LINCOLN NAVIGATOR. *AK
CONSUMER STATES SWITCH WHICH CONTROL THE SIDE MIRRORS ARE NOT WORKING PROPERLY. DEALER HAS REPLACED 4 TIMES THE MODULE ,AND STILL RECURRING THE PROBLEM. *AK
WHILE SLOWLY BACKING UP AFTER A PARALLEL PARK, THE PASSENGER AIR BAG SUDDENLY DEPLOYED. THERE WAS NO CRASH NOR CONTACT WITH ANYTHING.*AK
2003 LINCOLN NAVIGATOR--- WITHIN THE FIRST 60 DAYS (5000 MILES) OF OWNERSHIP THE REAR END WAS TERMED TO BE DEFECTIVE AND A COMPLETE NEW ASSEMBLY HAD TO BE INSTALLED. AT 12,000 MILES THE REAR END AGAIN HAS STARTED MAKING THE SAME SOUNDS AS BEFORE. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE IT WAS PURCHASED AND I WAS TOLD THAT FORD WAS AWARE OF THE PROBLEM AND NOTHING WAS DONE TO REPAIR IT. *LA
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 LINCOLN NAVIGATOR. WHENEVER THE BRAKE WERE APPLIED THE VEHICLE WOULD VIBRATE AND SHAKE EXCESSIVELY. THERE WERE SEVERAL ELECTRICAL FAILURES TO INCLUDE THE ELECTRONIC CLUSTER IN THE ODOMETER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND ADVISED HER TO TAKE THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER TO HAVE THE FAILURES REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 30,000.
EXCESSIVE WIND NOISE IN CAB. REPORTED AT LEAST THREE TIMES TO DEALER. ON THIRD COMPLAINT, TOLD BY DEALER THAT "THIS IS A CHARACTERISTIC OF THIS TRUCK".*AK
I PURCHASED MY VEHICLE BRAND NEW IN JANUARY OF 2003. I HAVE HAD NUMEROUS PROBLEMS WITH THE VEHICLE SINCE DAY 1.THE ENTIRE COMPUTER HAD TO BE CHANGED. THE TRUCK STALLED ON ME AT HIGHWAY SPEED. IT TOOK OVER 2 1/2 WEEKS TO GET MY VEHICLE BACK.HERE IS A LIST OF THE OTHER PROBLEMS I HAVE HAD. THE REAR VENT MOTORS HAVE BEEN CHANGED . I HAD MY WINDOWS STUCK OPEN WITH HALF OF MY ELECTICAL SYSTEM OUT FOR OVER FOUR DAYS DUE TO THE PROBLEM. THE SIDE VIEW MIRROR MOTOR HAD TO BE CHANGED. THE POWER RUNNING BOARDS HAVE NEVER WORKED PROPERLY AND THE DEALER CAN'T FIND THE PROBLEM. ALL FOUR WHEELS HAD TO BE CHANGED DUE TO PEELING. A NEW ALTERNATOR HAD TO BE INSTALLED WHICH LEFT MY VEHICLE DEAD WITHOUT WARNING. THE CD CHANGER HAD TO BE REPLACED. THE ENTIRE NAVIGATION SYSTEM HAD TO BE REPLACED. THE COIL HAD TO BE CHANGED THREE TIMES. WHICH ONCE AGAIN DIED AT HIGHWAY SPEED ON ME. I WAS NEARLY HIT BY A SEMI TRUCK FROM BEHIND. I THOUGHT FOR SURE THAT MY FAMILY AND I WERE GOING TO BE SERIOUSLY INJURED. IT IS AT THE DEALER RIGHT NOW GETTING LOOKED AT. TWICE WHILE BEING AT THE DEALER FOR SERVICE, MY VEHICLE WAS HIT NEEDING REPAIR. THE LIST GOES ON. AS YOU CAN SAY MY VEHICLE IS AT THE DEALER MORE THAN IT IS AT HOME, WHERE IT SHOULD BE. MOST OF THE PROBLEMS TIE MY VEHICLE DOWN FOR MORE THAN A WEEK. I AM FED UP AND TIRED OF ALL THE PROBLEMS. I DON'T FEEL COMFORTABLE DRIVING SUCH AN UNSAFE VEHICLE. I KNOW IT WILL STALL AGAIN ON ME. HOPEFULLY THERE WILL BE NO INJURIES OR FATALITIES DUE TO SUCH AN UNRELIABLE VEHICLE.*AK
RATTLES IN BOTH FRONT DOOR TRIM PANELS - OCCURS AT SPEEDS GREATER THAN 45-50 MPH. HAVE HAD VEHICLE UNSUCCESSFULLY IN FOR REPAIRS FOUR TIMES. HAVE REPLACED DOOR PANELS WITHOUT RESOLUTION OF PROBLEM. LATEST SERVICE DATE IS LISTED BELOW.

CONSUMER STATES WHILE DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS THE TRUCK COMPLETELY SHUT DOWN. CAUSE IS UNKNOWN. CONSUMER WAS ABLE TO RESTART. TOOK TO LINCOLN THEY STATED A FUSE HAD BLOWN DUE TO A ROD THAT HAD BEEN INSTALLED BENEATH ARM REST. CONSUMER STATES FUSE SHORTED OUT. PLEASE PROVIDE ANY FURTHER INFORMATION. NLM

PASSENGER SIDE MIRROR DOES NOT WORK PROPERLY, RADIO COVER HAS MARKS ON IT WHERE IT RETRACT INTO THE DASH, KICK PLATE INSIDE OF THE DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR IS BROKEN, ALL FOUR DOORS EXTERNAL PATTERNS ARE LOOSE, AND THE FRONT CONSOLE LOCK IS BROKEN.*MR THE DOOR AJAR LIGHT ILLUMINATED CONTINUALLY AFTER BEING REPAIRED THREE TIMES. *NM
OWNER OF SUV RETURNED CONTINENTIAL TIRES (255-70R-17, DOT UNKNOWN) THAT WERE PART OF RECALL. AFTER INSPECTION ONLY 2 TIRES WERE OFFERED AT PRO-RATED PRICE. TIRE MERCHANT WANTED TO REPLACE WITH SAME RECALLED CONTINENTIAL TIRES. THIS IS THE SECOND SET OF CONTINENTAL TIRES THAT HAVE BEEN PRO-RATED FOR VEHICLE. TIRES ARE DEFECTIVE AND CONSUMER IS REQUESTING TOTAL REPLACEMENT FOR ALL FIVE TIRES. *TT
WHILE TRAVELING AT 40 MPH, CONSUMER STATED THE SUNROOF BROKE AND HIT THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER IN THEIR HEADS.*JB
