REAR WINDOW EXPLODED SHATTERING THE GLASS COMPLETELY. OCCURRED ONCE THE ENGINE WAS OFF WHILE PARKED.
THE VEHICLE ENGAGED IN INVOLUNTARY ACCELERATION (IN REVERSE) FROM STATIONARY POSITION RIGHT AFTER SHIFTING GEARS FROM PARKING 'P' TO REVERSE 'R' AND DISENGAGING THE PARKING BRAKE. THE BRAKES WERE BEING APPLIED DURING THIS GEAR CHANGE. THE CAR STARTED MOVING IN REVERSE AS SOON AS THE DRIVER LET OFF THE BRAKES. THE DRIVER THEN REAPPLIED THE BRAKES BUT THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED INSTEAD OF BREAKING. MORE PRESSURE WAS APPLIED TO THE BRAKES BUT THAT INCREASED THE SPEED INSTEAD OF REDUCING IT. THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED FROM 0 MPH TO APPROXIMATELY 50 MPH AND TRAVELED ABOUT 100 FEET IN REVERSE. THE DRIVER WAS MANEUVERING THE VEHICLE WITH THE STEERING WHEEL WHILE SIMULTANEOUSLY APPLYING PRESSURE TO THE BREAKS. THE DRIVER MANAGED TO STEER THE VEHICLE UP A SMALL GRASSY HILL OF ABOUT 15 DEGREES IN SLOPE UNTIL THE VEHICLE HIT A RESIDENTIAL CONCRETE WALL WITH THE BACK OF THE VEHICLE. AT THE MOMENT OF IMPACT, THE VEHICLE BOUNCED BACK AND THE ACCELERATION DISAPPEARED WITH THE ENGINE STILL ON. THE VEHICLE THEN SLOWLY ROLLED DOWN THE HILL UNTIL IT HIT A PARKED CAR. AT THAT MOMENT, THE CAR STOPPED AND REMAINED STATIONARY. THE ENGINE WAS THEN TURNED OFF. THE IMPACT CAUSED DAMAGE TO THE BACK OF THE VEHICLE AND TO THE RESIDENTIAL CONCRETE WALL. THE DRIVER'S SEAT WAS ALSO DAMAGED. IT BECAME LOOSE WITH THE IMPACT AND WAS EJECTED BACKWARDS TOWARDS THE BACK SEAT WITH THE DRIVER STILL ON IT. THERE WERE NO PHYSICAL INJURIES TO THE OCCUPANTS OTHER THAN WHIPLASH. A FIRMWARE DEFECT OF THE ELECTRONIC THROTTLE SYSTEM IS SUSPECTED.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE REAR AIR SUSPENSION HAD FAILED CAUSING THE REAR END TO BOUNCE UP AND DOWN AND WHILE DRIVING A CLANKING NOISE WAS PRESENT COMING FROM THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE WHEEL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE FRONT SUSPENSION ARM WAS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AND THE REAR SUSPENSION AIR BAGS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE BUT NO ASSISTANCE WAS OFFERED. THE LOCAL DEALER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 150,000.

THE BACK AIR BAGS ARE NOT EVEN 3 MONTHS I PIT IN THE FRONT.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 LINCOLN NAVIGATOR. WHILE DRIVING 70 MPH, EXTRA FORCE WAS REQUIRED TO TURN THE STEERING WHEEL RIGHT AND LEFT, AND THE TRACTION CONTROL WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO BRILL'S AUTO SALES (388 SOUTHAMPTON RD, WESTFIELD, MA 01085, (413) 568-9487) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE STEERING SHAFT AND DRIVE AXLE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT HE REPAIRED THE 4 WHEEL DRIVE ACTUATOR HIMSELF. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT COMPLETELY REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN A RECALL. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 163,000.
AIR SUSPENSION WILL NOT PUMP UP, RIPPED OFF OIL FILTER CAR BOTTOMS OUT AND VEHICLES LOSE CONTROL
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 LINCOLN NAVIGATOR. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY, STRONG FUMES ENTERED INTO THE CABIN OF THE VEHICLE. IN ADDITION, FUEL LEAKED ONTO THE GROUND WHEN THE FUEL TANK WAS BEING FILLED. SANDERSON FORD IN GLENDALE, ARIZONA WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THE PLASTIC PIECE THAT THE FILLER HOSE WAS CONNECTED TO HAD FRACTURED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 112,000.
ON 12-3-17 GRANT COUNTY SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT OFFICERS RESPONDED TO A CALL IN SWAYZEE, IN REFERENCE AN UNRESPONSIVE TODDLER. A 20 MONTH OLD WHO HAD FALLEN ASLEEP IN THE THIRD ROW OF A 2004 LINCOLN NAVIGATOR. THE PARENTS HAD GONE TO SWEETSER TO HELP A RELATIVE MOVE. UPON ARRIVING AT SWEETSER, THE MOTHER TOLD THE FATHER SHE WAS TAKING "THE BABY" OUT TO CHANGE HER DIAPER. THE FATHER TOOK THAT TO MEAN THEIR 20 MONTH OLD; HOWEVER THE MOTHER MEANT THE 8 MONTH OLD THAT SHE WAS BABYSITTING. THE FATHER DID NOT KNOW HIS 20 MONTH OLD HAD FALLEN ASLEEP IN THE THIRD ROW SEAT. HE LOADED ITEMS IN A TRAILER AND HAD THREE OTHER ITEMS TO FIT. HE PUSHED THE BUTTONS LOCATED IN THE BACK OF THE VEHICLE TO FOLD DOWN THE AUTOMATIC THIRD ROW SEATS. THE SEATS FOLDED COMPLETELY DOWN AND HE LOADED THE ITEMS IN THE VEHICLE. THEY DROVE TO SWAYZEE WHERE THEY REALIZED THEIR 20 MONTH OLD WAS NOT AROUND. THE MOTHER REMEMBERED HER BEING IN THE THIRD ROW SEAT. THE FATHER REMOVED THE ITEMS AND RAISED THE SEATS WHERE HE LOCATED THE 20 MONTH OLD UNRESPONSIVE. AUTOPSY SHOWED SHE DIED OF SUFFOCATION DUE TO COMPRESSION ON THE CHEST. REENACTMENTS WERE VIDEOTAPED AND PHOTOGRAPHED USING A CPR DOLL 2 INCHES SHORTER THAN THE 20 MONTH OLD, THE SEATS FOLDED DOWN FLAT ALL THREE TIMES THESE WERE CONDUCTED. OUR CONCERN WITH THE VEHICLE IS THE FACT THERE WAS NO SENSORS THAT KEPT THE SEATS FROM COMPLETELY FOLDING WITH THE CHILD ON THE SEAT.
AIR SUSPENSION WILL NOT INFLATE ON TIME WHEN DRIVING AWAY. FRONT AIR. BAG SUSPENSION DEFLATES COMPLETELY EVERY TIME VEHICLE IS TURNED OFF. I NOW HAVE TO BUY MY FRONT WHEEL WELL COVERS DUE TO THIS PROBLEM....CAR WAS IN MOTION WHEN THIS HAPPENED ON A CITY STREET.

THE VEHICLE TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE SUSPENSION FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
VEHICLE WAS PARKED IN A PARKING LOT, DRIVER WAS TEXTING. STEERING WHEEL AIRBAG DEPLOYED FOR NO REASON. NO BUMPS, NO ACCIDENTS. UPON CHANGING AIRBAG, FOUND STEERING WHEEL AIRBAG WIRING HAD CHAFED AGAINST THE HORN MOUNT RING, AND GROUNDED OUT, CAUSING THE DEPLOYMENT.

CAR ONLY HAS 120,000 AND STARTED TO BOUNCE, AND LOWER DURING DRIVING. GOT DIAGNOSED, WITH DETACHED AIR LINKAGE WHICH WERE THE FRONT, PAID $430, 2 MONTHS AFTER THE MOTER STOPPED COMPLETELY, REPLACED MOTOR, NEARLY$600, INSTALLED AND DIDN'T WORK, RELAY WAS THE OTHER PROBLEM, CHANGED RELAY, WORKED FOR A WEEK, AND STOPPED COMLETELY! BOUGHT ANOTHER ONE, TRIED TO INSTALL IT BUT IS NOT WORKING, ANOTHER $100 DOWN THE DRAIN! MY ONLY OPTION IS COIL SPRING CONVERSTION, TO STOP WITH ALL THE ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS! LINCOLN SHOULD TAKE MORE CONSIDERATION IN SUSPENSION, TO MAKE THE CAR SAFE AND DRIVEABLE!
I WAS DRIVING DOWN A COUNTY ROAD WHEN THE SIDE AIRBAGS DEPLOYED WITH NO COLLISION OR FAST BRAKING. I WAS APPROACHING A STOP SIGN AND WAS COASTING AND HAD NOT APPLIED THE BRAKES WHEN IT OCCURRED.
MY 2004 LINCOLN NAVIGATOR DROPPED DOWN ON THE DRIVERS SIDE FRONT. I TOOK IT TO A MECANIC AND HE SAID IT WAS THE HEIGHT SENSOR IN THE MEANWHILE WHILE THEY ORDERED THE PART AND A WEEK LATER IT GOT TO THE SHOP I DROVE IT AND OF COURSE WITH ALL THE BUMPING AROUND THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE DROPPED NOW THE LINCOLN REALLY BOUNCES I TOOK IT TO THE SHOP TO GET THE SENSOR INSTALLED WENT BACK TO PICK IT THEY TELL ME THAT WASNT THE PROBLEM NOW MY PUMP DONT WORK AND MY FRONT END IS REALLY LOW. NOW IM STUCK WITH NO SUSPENSION AND SOMETHING MORE THAN LIKELY IS GOING TO HAPPEN EITHER A BLOWN TIRE BECAUSE OF THE RUBBING ON THE TIRE WALL OR A CAR ACCIDENT. THIS IS MY DAILY DRIVER BACK AND FORTH TO WORK I ALSO AM AFRAID TO TAKE MY THREE CHILDREN ANYWHERE BECAUSE OF THIS. IM AND EMPLOYEE OF GM SOMEONE NEEDS TO DO A RECALL THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE TO THE DRIVER AND OTHER DRIVERS AS WELL.
I HAVE A 2004 LINCOLN NAVIGATOR AND WHEN IT GETS TOO COLD THE AIRBAGS HAVE BUSTED ON ME AND THE COMPRESSOR. I HAVE OWNED THIS VEHICLE FOR 2 YEARS AND 2 YEARS IN A ROW EACH WINTER MY SUSPENSION HAS FAILED. MY WHEELS ARE RIDING RIGHT UNDER MY TIRE WALL AND IT IS GOING TO CAUSE ME TO HAVE AN ACCIDENT OR CAUSE FURTHER DAMAGE. AT $1000 TO FIX THESE THEY SHOULD LAST LONGER THAN 1 YEAR. WHEN TEMPERATURES DROP NEAR OR BELOW FREEZING, THE AIR SUSPENSION SPRINGS STOP FUNCTIONING AT ALL. THE VALVE THAT HOLDS THE AIR IN THE AIR BAGS GETS FROST ON IT AND CAN'T CLOSE ANYMORE. THIS CAUSES THE SUSPENSION TO RIDE ON THE RUBBER STOPS. THE TIRES RUB IN THE FENDER WELLS. THE VEHICLE WILL EVENTUALLY RUB THE TIRE TO A TIRE FAILURE. THIS WILL CAUSE THE DRIVER TO LOSE CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE AND POSSIBLY CRASH. *TR
FOR THE PAST 6-8 MONTHS MY VEHICLE HAS SPORADICALLY STALLED/STOPPED FOR NO APPARENT REASON. WHEN IT STOPS LIKE THIS IT CAN OCCUR ON THE HIGHWAY OR SURFACE STREETS WITHOUT NOTICE. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO THE LINCOLN DEALER TWO TIMES WITH THE LAST TIME BEING TOLD IT WAS A TRANSMISSION PROBLEM, WHICH I WAS SKEPTICAL, BECAUSE OF NO PREVIOUS PROBLEMS. I HAVE REQUESTED ASSISTANCE FROM FORD MOTOR WHO ESSENTIALLY DISMISSED WITHOUT ANY LIABILITY DUE TO THE CAR BEING OUT OF WARRANTY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE MECHANIC FOR INSPECTION, WHO ADVISED THE CONTACT THAT THE FRONT SUSPENSION SENSOR FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS THEN TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR REPAIR, WHO REPLACED THE FRONT SUSPENSION SENSOR HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED WHILE THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING 55 MPH. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER, WHO ADVISED THAT THE AIR COMPRESSOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 90,100 AND THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 91,000.
HI I OWN A 2004 LINCOLN NAVIGATOR FOR 6 MONTHS AFTER THE 3RD MONTH MY AIR SUSPENCION WENT OUT THE FRONT OF MY TRUCK IS SO LOW IT TOUCH THE TIRES WHEN I DRIVE THE TRUCK BOUNCE SO MUCH MY BACK AND HEAD HURTS I HATE TO DRIVE IT BUT IS THE ONLY CAR I HAVE AND NO MONEY TO FIX MY KIDS DONT LIKE TO DRIVE IN IT AND IM SCARE TO TAKE MY 7 MONTH OLD BABY ANY WERE BECAUSE I AM SCARED THAT SHE WILL GET HURT FROM ALL THE BOUNCING!!!! FORD HAS FAILED TO INSTALL INSULATION ON THE UNDERSIDE OF THE LINCOLN NAVIGATOR HOOD THEREFORE THE HEAT HAS CAUSED THE HOOD PAINT AND CLEAR COAT TO BUBBLE AND PEEL. MY HOOD HAS AS MANY SPOTS ON IT AS A HORMONAL TEENAGE BOY HAS ON HIS FACE. THIS ISSUE HAS CAUSED INJURY TO THE VALUE OF MY CAR AND MY PRIDE IN OWNING THIS VEHICLE. MANY LAWSUITS HAVE BEEN FILED AND SUCCESSFULLY WON THROUGH SEVERAL STATES, A NATIONWIDE RECALL NEEDS TO HAPPEN FOR THIS ISSUE. *TR
WHILE DRIVING NORTH ON AR HWY 9 A FEW MILES SOUTH OF MALVERN, ARKANSAS WITH MY WIFE IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT AND MY SON IN THE SECOND ROW DIRECTLY BEHIND ME, A LOUD BANG OCCURRED. IN THE NEXT MOMENTS I REALIZED THE SIDE CURTAIN AIR BAGS DEPLOYED ON BOTH SIDES OF THE VEHICLE, A SMELL LIKE FIREWORKS BECAME IMMEDIATELY APPARENT, AND THE DRIVER'S SIDE SUN VISOR WAS DESTROYED AND HANGING DOWN DIRECTLY IN FRONT OF ME AT AN ANGLE. I WAS ABLE TO MAINTAIN CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE AND STAY IN MY LANE OF THE TWO-LANE HIGHWAY AND SLOWED DOWN. AFTER SHORTLY REALIZING WHAT HAPPENED, I LOOKED FOR A PLACE TO PULL OVER, DID SO, AND TOOK MY POCKET KNIFE AND CUT AWAY THE SIDE CURTAIN AIRBAGS TO BE ABLE TO SEE OUT OF THE SIDE WINDOWS AND CONTINUE OUR TRIP NORTH. I FOUND THE DRIVER'S VISOR VANITY MIRROR HAD SHATTERED IN PIECES IN MY LAP AND ON THE FLOOR, ALONG WITH OTHER PARTS FROM THE VISOR WHICH NOW HUNG DOWN AT A STEEP ANGLE. BOTH THE DRIVER'S SIDE AND PASSENGER SIDE FRONT SEAT BELTS WERE DAMAGED, AND THE DRIVER'S SEAT BELT UPPER ANCHOR WOULD NO LONGER STAY LOCKED IN POSITION, SAGGING TO ITS LOWEST POSITION BY GRAVITY. LATER THAT DAY I DISCOVERED THAT THE MAP LIGHTS AND PASSENGER SIDE VISOR VANITY MIRROR LIGHT NO LONGER WORKED. I TOOK THE CAR TO THE LOCAL FORD DEALER NEAR WHERE I WAS STAYING, WHO TOLD ME THAT IT (AIR BAG SYSTEM) WAS NO LONGER COVERED BY WARRANTY. I THEN MADE AN APPOINTMENT WITH MY HOMETOWN DEALER TO FURTHER RESOLVE THE ISSUE, AND ALSO INSTIGATED A CASE WITH THE LINCOLN CUSTOMER RELATIONSHIP CENTER TO SEE IF THEY WOULD HELP. *TR
JAN 2012 AIR SUSPENSION LIGHT CAME ON AFTER BEING IN BELOW 30 DEGREES ON A TRIP. CAR WAS BOUNCING AND COULD NOT CONTROL IT PROPERLY. REPLACED AIR SHOCK ON REAR. NOV 2013 - SAME TEMPS AND SAME LIGHT AND CONTROL PROBLEM. AFTER THE CAR REACHED A WARMER TEMP.(SOUTH FOR 3 HOURS) IT NO LONGER BOUNCED AND WAS BACK TO NORMAL. SERVICE SHOP COULD NOT FIND A PROBLEM. DEC 2013 ANOTHER TRIP UP NORTH AND SAME THING.AND SAME SERVICE FIND. NOTHING. JAN 2014 IN A WARMER TEMP. LIGHT CAME ON AND BOUNCE CAME BACK. SERVICE SHOP SAID IT LOOKS LIKE THE COMPRESSOR IS GOING BAD. THIS PROBLEM SEEMS TO ME IS A SAFETY PROBLEM AND SHOULD BE RECALLED AND REPAIRED BY FORD (LINCOLN). IT IS DANGEROUS AND CERTAINLY MAKES THE CAR UNCONTROLLABLE. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INSPECTED BY A DEALER NOR HAD IT BEEN REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 80,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 LINCOLN NAVIGATOR. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING 65 MPH WHEN THE ENGINE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE DEALER CONFIRMED THERE WAS AN ENGINE MISFIRE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 54,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 75,000.
I HAVE A 2004 LINCOLN NAVIGATOR, WHICH I HAVE OWNED SINCE IT WAS NEW. WITH THE RECENT RECALL OF F-SERIES FOR DEFECTIVE AIRBAG CLOCKSPRINGS, I AM CONCERNED THAT MY NAVIGATOR WAS NOT INCLUDED. THE AIRBAG LIGHT CAME ON TWO DAYS AGO, I CYCLED THE IGNITION AND IT WENT OFF. TODAY IT CAME ON AGAIN AND STAYED ON THROUGH MANY ON/OFF CYCLES OF THE VEHICLE. I AM CONCERNED ABOUT INADVERTENT DEPLOYMENT ISSUES FROM A POSSIBLY DEFECTIVE CLOCKSPRING. PLEASE HELP. *TR

WE HAVE A 2004 LINCOLN NAVIGATOR ( THE SECOND WE HAVE OWNED) THE AIR SUSPENSION HAS NEVER WORKED AS WELL AS THE FIRST NAVIGATOR. THE RIDE WAS VERY GOOD FOR THE FIRST 50 THOUSAND MILES THEN WHEN IT WAS COLD IT WOULD TAKE A WHILE FOR THE AIR SUSPENSION TO WARM UP AND BEGIN TO WORK. IN ALABAMA IT DOES NOT GET THAT COLD THAT MANY DAYS BUT IT WAS VERY UNCOMFORTABLE ON THOSE DAYS. FINALLY THE SUSPENSION JUST STOPPED WORKING AND THE RIDE WAS TERRIBLE. TOOK TO THE DEALERSHIP AND PAID $98.00 FOR DIAGNOSIS. INDEED THE AIR SUSPENSION WAS LEAKING. COULD NOT GIVE US A FIRM PRICE SINCE THEY WOULD NOT KNOW FOR SURE IF ANY DAMAGE WAS DONE INSIDE THE SYSTEM. THE RANGE WAS FROM $1,200.00 TO OVER $4,000.00. IF I WANTED TO GAMBLE LIKE THAT I WILL GO TO THE CASINO. AFTER TALKING WITH SEVERAL MECHANICS THEIR RECOMMENDATION WAS TO INSTALL A REGULAR SUSPENSION WHICH COST US $850.00 INCLUDING INSTALLATION. CAR RIDES AS GOOD AS IT DID AND WE DO NOT HAVE TO EXPECT THE SUSPENSION TO GO OUT AGAIN. WE HAVE HEARD LOTS OF STORIES ABOUT THE SAME PROBLEM WE HAD AND HAVE HEARD A LOT OF PEOPLE THAT HAVE HAD TO REPLACE THE AIR SUSPENSION 2 TIMES BEFORE THEY GAVE UP. FORD KNOWS THIS IS A PROBLEM AND WILL NOT DO A RECALL. ONE MECHANIC TOLD US THAT THE AIR SUSPENSION IS THE SAME ONE THEY USE IN THE BIG FORD SUV AND THEY NEVER HAVE PROBLEMS WITH IT. FORD AND THE ENGINEERS NEED TO SOLVE THIS PROBLEM. AT THIS TIME WE WILL NOT PURCHASE A THIRD NAVIGATOR EVEN THROUGH I LOVE THE CAR. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 LINCOLN NAVIGATOR. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 15 MPH WHEN THE STEERING COLUMN LOCKED AND THEN THE STEERING WHEEL TURNED IN THE RIGHT POSITION WITHOUT WARNING. SUDDENLY, THERE WAS A LOSS OF STEERING CONTROL AND THE VEHICLE TRAVELED OVER A CURB UP AN EMBANKMENT. WHEN THE BRAKES WERE ENGAGED THE VEHICLE CAME TO A STOP. THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN FROM THE EMBANKMENT AND THE IDENTICAL FAILURE REOCURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A NEARBY INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR DIAGNOSIS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THEY WERE UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. THERE WERE UNRELATED REPAIRS PERFORMED ON THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 67,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE CONTACT HAD CONCERN OF THE POTENTIAL SAFETY HAZARD.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 LINCOLN NAVIGATOR. THE AIR SUSPENSION ON THE FRONT OF THE VEHICLE WAS NOT LIFTING UP PROPERLY IN ORDER FOR THE VEHICLE TO DRIVE WITHOUT ANY INCIDENT. ON COLD DAYS THE SUSPENSION DOES NOT ALLOW THE FRONT END TO LIFT UP; YET, THE VEHICLE HAD TO BE WARM OR THE TEMPERATURE OUTSIDE HAD TO BE WARM. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR INSPECTION WHICH WAS TAKEN TO THREE OTHER SERVICE STATIONS WHO PERFORMED A DIAGNOSTIC TEST ON THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CALLED AND STATED THAT THERE WERE NO RECALLS OR WARRANTIES STATING THAT SHE HAD TO PAY FOR THE REPAIRS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 132,500.
THE AIR SUSPENSION SYSTEM HAS FAILED ON MY LUXURY 2004 LINCOLN NAVIGATOR (124,000 MILES). THIS APPEARS TO BE A COMMON FAILURE FOR THIS VEHICLE BASED UPON MY ONLINE RESEARCH. THERE ARE COMPANIES THAT SELL KITS TO REPLACE THE ENTIRE SYSTEM AS IT IS APPARENT THAT NOT FAILING IS NOT AN OPTION. PLEASE SEE THE STRUTMASTERS WEBSITE (HTTP://WWW.STRUTMASTERS.COM/). ACCORDING TO MY , DECEASED WIFE, THE PROBLEM STARTS ON JULY 14, 2010. THE CAR BECAME BOUNCY IN THE FRONT WHILE IN MOTION, WE ARE STILL UNDER EXTENDED WARRANTY ON AUTO MAINTENANCE. MY WIFE WENT TO THE DEALER FINDLAY LINCOLN HERE HIN SAHARA ST LAS VEGAS REGARDING THIS PROBLEM, SOMEHOW THEY WERE ABLE TO FIX THE PROBLEM BUT AFTER 2 WEEKS AGAIN THE BOUNCY PROBLEM STARTED TO APPEAR, AGAIN SHE WENT TO THE DEALER TO HAVE IT FIX, THE PROBLEM WAS AGAIN FIX AND AFTER 3 WEEKS THE PROBLEM AGAIN APPEAR AT THIS POINT MY WIFE HAS BEEN IN AND OUT OF THE HOSPITAL AND WAS NOT ABLE TO BRING THE CAR IN THE DEALERSHIP. WHEN I CAME HOME FROM HAWAII BECAUSE OF MY WIFE ILLNESS THE CAR WAS IN THE GARAGE AND ACCORDING TO MY SON THEY HAVE NOT USED IT BECAUSE OF THE CAR BOUNCE SO HARD THAT ITS DIFFICULT TO CONTROL THE WHEELS. SO ON OCT 13, 2010 I DRIVE IT TO THE DEALER 25 MILES DESPITE OF THE SUSPENSION PROBLEM, SINCE WE ARE NOT UNDER WARRANTY ANYMORE, I WAS CHARGE $912.40 FOR REPLACING AIR SUSPENSION COMPRESSOR, MILEAGE IS 45,076, ITS BEEN A YEAR NOW SINCE I HAVE THAT FIX AND NOW MY FRONT IS SO LOW THAT ITS ALMOST TOUCH MY FRONT TIRES AND WHEN I DRIVE IT IT FEELS THAT MY TIRES ARE UNEVEN LIKE RIDING ON A BIKE. I HAVE CANCELLED MY CAR INSURANCE BECAUSE I CANT DRIVE IT WITH THAT CONDITION AND DEALER WARRANTY IS EXPIRED AND THE MILEAGE IS 53,423. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE FAILURE RECURRED FOUR TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE AIR COMPRESSOR FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE WHO ADVISED THAT THEY WOULD CONTACT HIM BACK AT A LATER DATE. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 57,677 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 73,581.
LOST OF REAR BRAKES DUE TO THE LACK OF A BRAKING SYSTEM WHERE WEAR INDICATORS (SENSORS OR LIGHT INDICATORS) WERE LEFT OFF MY 2004 LINCOLN NAVIGATOR BY THE MANUFACTURER. NO SENSORS ON THE OUTER REAR AND FRONT BRAKE PADS. HID HEADLAMP ASSEMBLY. I HAVE 2004 LINCOLN NAVIGATOR AND WHILE MY VEHICLE WAS UNDER THE MANUFACTURERS WARRANTY THEY REPLACED THE LEFT HID ASSEMBLY BUT THEY CLAIMED IT WAS NOT A RECALL. I AM SINCE OUT OF THE WARRANTY AND THE RH ASSEMBLY WENT OUT. NOW MY RESEARCH INDICATES THAT THE RECALL WAS ONLY TO YEARS 2003 IN THE NAVIGATOR, BUT TO 2006 IN THE EXPEDITION. THE ASSEMBLY IS THE SAME AS THE 2003 NAVIGATOR BUT THE "2004" IS NOT COVERED. WHY? *TR
FAULTY WIRING THAT GOES FROM THE BACK OF THE VEHICLE TO THE FUSE BOX. ALL THE ELECTRICAL STUFF QUIT WORKING IN ONE MOMENT. WHEN I TOOK IT IN TO GET LOOKED AT THE MECHANICS SAID THAT THE CAR WAS UNDRIVEABLE BECAUSE IT WOULD CATCH ON FIRE. *TR
I OWN A 2004 LINCOLN NAVIGATOR. I HAVE HAD PROBLEMS WITH THE AIR BAG SUSPENSION SYSTEM SINCE I HAVE OWNED MY VEHICLE. WHAT HAPPENS IS WHEN IT GETS COLD THE SYSTEM FAILS TO OPERATE CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO DROP DOWN ON THE TIRES. RIPPING THEM FROM UNDER THE VEHICLE, IT DESTROYS THE TIRES AND COULD VERY EASILY CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. I HAVE HAD TO REPLACE THE TIRES MANY TIMES DUE TO THIS ISSUE. THIS WINTER ALONE IT HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP AT LEASE 6 OR 7 TIMES. THIS SYSTEM IS NO LONGER IN USE ON THE NEW NAVIGATORS. FORD HAS ISSUED NO RECALLS AND WILL NOT ASSIST ME IN GETTING THIS ISSUE RESOLVED. THEY SAID UNLESS THEY ARE FORCED TO DEAL WITH THIS BY THE NHTSA , I CAN NO LONGER AFFORD TO SPENT THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS TO RESOLVE THIS ISSUE WHICH IS CLEARLY A MFG PROBLEM. WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY AT 70 MPH, THE SIDE AIRBAG CURTAINS IN OUR 2004 LINCOLN NAVIGATOR DEPLOYED FOR NO REASON. WE TOOK THE VEHICLE DIRECTLY TO THE FORD DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD THAT THE DIAGNOSTICS RAN ON IT SHOWED THAT WE HAD A COLLISION THAT CAUSED THE AIRBAGS TO DEPLOY. OUR INSURANCE ADJUSTER LOOKED AT THE VEHICLE AND FOUND THAT THERE WAS NO TYPE OF COLLISION TO HAVE CAUSED THE AIRBAGS TO DEPLOY. THE DEALERSHIP INSISTS THAT WE HIT SOMETHING AND CHOOSES NOT TO REPAIR IT. INSTEAD, WE WERE TOLD THAT WE HAD TO PAY FOR IT; $6,000.00. *TR

AIR COMPRESSOR WAS REPLACED, ONE OF THE SENSORS & A VALVE. SPENT OVER $1000 ON IT TRYING TO REPAIR AND NOTHING FIXES THE PROBLEM. THE NUMBER THREE SPARK PLUG ON THE PASSENGER SIDE OF MY 2004 LINCOLN NAVIGATOR BLEW OUT. THE CAR HAS 72000 MILE ON IT AND IS EXCELLENT CONDITION. THIS IS DEFECT, THERE SHOULD BE MORE THREADS HOLDING THE SPARK PLUG IN PACE, THIS CAR USES ALUMINUM CYLINDER HEADS, THE MANUFACTURES DESIGN DID NOT PUT ENOUGH THREADS IN PLACE FOR ALUMINUM TO HOLD THE PLUG OVER THE USABLE LIFE OF THE CAR AND ENGINE. *TR
