FORD IS RECALLING 123,632 MY 2007-2008 EXPEDITION AND LINCOLN NAVIGATOR VEHICLES. THE DOOR HANDLE HOUSING EMBOSSMENT RETAINING THE BOTTOM OF THE INTERIOR DOOR HANDLE SPRING ON ALL SIDE DOORS MAY FRACTURE DURING NORMAL CUSTOMER USAGE. THIS CAN RESULT IN INSUFFICIENT SPRING FORCE TO RETURN THE HANDLE TO THE FULLY CLOSED POSITION. THE HANDLE MAY BE LOOSE CAUSING A RATTLE OR NOISE AND THE HANDLE MAY NOT RETURN TO THE FULLY CLOSED POSITION. THIS CONDITION MAY ALSO PROVIDE A DELAYED RESISTANCE WHEN ACTUATING THE HANDLE PRIOR TO OPENING THE DOOR.
Remedy Status
DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE INTERIOR HANDLE SPRING ON ALL SIDE DOORS. THE RECALL BEGAN ON MARCH 5, 2008. OWNERS MAY CONTACT FORD AT 1-800-392-3673.
FORD IS RECALLING 57,199 MY 2006-2007 E-150, E-250, E-350, AND MY 2007 EXPEDITION AND LINCOLN NAVIGATOR VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH 5.4L ENGINES. THE FUEL RAIL CROSS-OVER HOSE MAY CONTAIN WEAK AREAS. AS A RESULT, THE HOSE MAY CRACK, WHICH COULD CAUSE A FUEL ODOR AND/OR FUEL LEAK.
Remedy Status
DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE FUEL RAIL ASSEMBLY. THE RECALL BEGAN ON MARCH 3, 2008. OWNERS MAY CONTACT FORD AT 1-800-392-3673.
The contact owns a 2007 Lincoln Navigator. The contact stated while driving 35 MPH, there was an abnormal sound coming from the engine compartment, prompting the contact to pull over to the shoulder of the roadway. The vehicle was towed to the residence. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, who diagnosed a failure with the rocker arms, finding that the engine lacked adequate compression, resulting in damage to the engine. The contact was informed that the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure reoccurred. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but provided no assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 75,000.
DRIVER'S DOOR LATCH WILL NOT OPEN FROM INSIDE THE VEHICLE
TAKATA RECALL. AT A SLOW SPEED, WITH THE FOOT ON THE BRAKE, VEHICLE ACCELERATES. SPEED IS GENERALLY UNDER 10 MPH AND HAS HAPPENED DURING TURNING...EITHER LEFT OR RIGHT. SPECIFICALLY: IT HAPPENED ONCE TURNING LEFT INTO A PARKING SPOT; IT HAPPENED MAKING A SLOW RIGHT HAND TURN ON A STREET; IT HAPPENED AGAIN DURING A LEFT HAND TURN INTO A PARKING GARAGE. WE TOOK IT TO A SHOP AND THE MECHANIC DROVE IT. IT HAPPENED TO HIM AS WELL, BUT I DON'T HAVE THE SPECIFICS FOR THE ONE INCIDENT, BUT HE ALSO EXPERIENCED THE BRAKES NOT ENGAGING NORMALLY TO THE POINT WHERE HE HAD TO PUSH EXTREMELY HARD ON THE BRAKE TO STOP THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE IS STILL WITH THE MECHANIC. I'M NOT SURE IF HE'S FINDING THE EXACT CAUSE OF THE PROBLEM. THE MASTER CYLINDER HAS BEEN REPLACE SO FAR, BUT 3 OF THE 5 OR 6 INCIDENTS OCCURRED AFTERWARDS. WE DID CONTACT THE LOCAL LINCOLN DEALERSHIP SERVICE DEPARTMENT AND THEY TOLD US THEY HAVE NEVER HEARD OF A SIMILAR INCIDENT. WE JUST PURCHASED THE VEHICLE SECOND HAND AND HAVE ONLY OWNED IT FOR 2 WEEKS. IT STARTED THE DAY AFTER PURCHASE. IT'S DANGEROUS AND WE DON'T KNOW WHERE TO TURN SINCE WE BOUGHT THE VEHICLE "AS IS". WILL FOLLOW UP WITH THE MECHANIC TOMORROW, 05/13/2019.
WATER APPEARS TO HAVE LEAKED INTO THE INTERIOR FUSE BOX , DAMAGING MANY ITEMS AND WIRES UNDER FUSE BOX , WIRES ARE SITTING IN WATER, CAUSING CORRUPTION AND LOSS OF LIGHTS AND OTHER FUNCTIONS
WAS DRIVING CAR SHUT OFF...BOUGHT NEW BATTERY INSTANTLY, THEN REPLACED CRANKSHAFT SENSOR BECAUSE AFTER CAR SHUTOFF IT WOULDNT START BACK UP...
MY 2007 LINCOLN NAVIGATOR MAY NEED RAIL CROSS-OVER HOSE BECAUSE IT CONTAINS WEAK AREAS. THE HOSE MAY CRACK, WHICH COULD CAUSE A FUEL ODOR AND/OR FUEL LEAK. THIS IS WHAT I'M SMELLING OUTSIDE OF MY TRUCK.
THE A/C STOPS BLOWING AND FUNCTIONING. RECALL # TSB-08-9-1 FROM 10-23-2008 STATES THIS EXACT ISSUE. WHEN A/C IS SELECTED THE BLOWER MOTOR AUTOMATICALLY GOES TO HIGH.
RUNNING BOARD ON DRIVER SIDE DOES NOT RETRACT AFTER CLOSING THE DOORS. IT REMAINS DEPLOYED. HAVE TO USE MY FOOT TO ASSIST IT TO CLOSE.....OFTEN. TRIED USING WD-40 TO LUBRICATE THE HINGES BUT THIS ONLY SERVES AS A TEMPORARY FIX. ISSUES RETURNS SHORTLY THEREAFTER.
HYDRAULIC STRUTS (LIFT SUPPORT) FOR BOTH FRONT HOOD AND POWER LIFTGATE COMPLETELY FAIL AND CANNOT STAY OPEN.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 LINCOLN NAVIGATOR. WHILE STARTING THE VEHICLE AND DEPRESSING THE BRAKE PEDAL, THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY ACCELERATED AND THE RPMS INCREASED. THE CONTACT HAD TO SHIFT THE VEHICLE INTO NEUTRAL FOR THE RPMS TO DECREASE. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THIS WAS THE SECOND TIME THE FAILURE OCCURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE ISSUE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 110,000.
MY DRIVER SIDE DOOR LATCH IS BROKEN.....I CANT GET OUT OF MY CAR...AND CANT REALLY FIGURE OUT HOW TO FIX
MY CAR WAS PARKED IN MY DRIVEWAY. I OPENED THE BACK HATCH TO ALLOW MY CHILDREN TO LOAD THEIR VIOLINS IN THE BACK BEFORE TAKING THEM TO SCHOOL. THE HATCH SUDDENLY CAME DOWN QUICKLY ON ITS OWN, SLAMMING DOWN. IT HIT MY SON'S ARM JUST AS HE PULLED AWAY FROM THE CAR. IT COULD HAVE CAUSED HIM GREAT BODILY HARM. EVERY TIME I PUSH THE REMOTE TO OPEN THE HATCH IT OPENS COMPLETELY THEN SLAMS BACK DOWN.

THE TECHNICIAN STATED THAT THE FUEL TANK FAILED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 120,000.
UNEXPLAINED ACCELERATION WITHOUT WARNING
THE TRUCK STARTED ON FIRE AROUND THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT WHILE I WAS DRIVING ,I PULLED OVER RESCUED MY DOG RAN TO THE GRASS AREA AND WATCH IT BURN TO THE GROUND. THIS WAS JUNE 13,2015

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE FUEL PUMP NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 103,000. UPDATED 5/20/15*CN THE CONSUMER STATED THE MECHANIC ADVISED IF A SPARK WAS TO OCCUR THE VEHICLE COULD HAVE CAUGHT FIRE. UPDATED 9/17/2015*JS
DRIVER'S SIDE RETRACTABLE RUNNING BOARDS KEEPS GETTING STUCK IN OPEN POSITION AND KEEPS TRYING TO RETRACT WHILE DRIVING, AFTER RESEARCH FOUND OUT RUNNING BOARDS HAVE BEEN MALFUNCTIONING ON NAVIGATORS SINCE EARLY 2000. FORD MERCURY WILL NOT RECALL EVEN THOUGH THEY KNOW ITS A VEHICLE DEFECT. DRIVERS SEAT AND STEERING WHEEL WILL NOT STAY WHERE ITS SET WILL RESET IT SELF SOMETIMES WHILE DRIVING
ON FRIDAY, AUGUST 29, 2014 AT 1200 HOURS, I PARKED MY VEHICLE IN A MCDONALD'S PARKING LOT. I BACKED INTO A SPACE (THE DRIVEWAY WAS SLANTED DOWN TO THE MIDDLE OF THE PARKING LOT), MOVED THE GEAR SHIFTER TO PARK, GOT OUT OF THE VEHICLE. I WALKED IN FRONT OF THE VEHICLE, STOPPED TO WATCH TRAFFIC FOR A CLEARING TO CROSS THE PARKING LOT, AND THE VEHICLE BUMPED ME FROM BEHIND. IT WAS SLOWLY MOVING TOWARDS THE CENTER OF THE PARKING LOT. I JUMPED BACK IN THE VEHICLE AND APPLIED THE BRAKE TO STOP ITS FORWARD MOTION. I CHECKED THE GEAR SHIFTER WHICH INDICATED THAT IT WAS IN PARK. BUT, I WAS ABLE TO MOVE THE GEAR SHIFTER OUT OF PARK, PLACE IT IN REVERSE AND BACK THE VEHICLE IN THE PARKING SPACE, AND AGAIN PLACED THE GEAR SHIFTER IN PARK. AGAIN THE VEHICLE STARTED DRIFTING FORWARD. I TRIED SEVERAL MORE TIMES TO PLACE THE GEAR SHIFTER IN PARK. FINALLY, IT SEEMED TO HOLD. I WENT IN TO EAT MY LUNCH AND RETURNED TO MY VEHICLE. THE GEAR SHIFTER WOULD NOT COME OUT OF PARK. AFTER SEVERAL TRIES, IT FINALLY DID. I DROVE THE VEHICLE STRAIGHT HOME. I PLACED THE GEAR SHIFTER IN PARK NUMEROUS TIMES BEFORE IT WOULD HOLD AND THE VEHICLE STOPPED MOVING. EACH TIME THE GEAR SHIFTER INDICATED THAT IT WAS IN PARK. I APPLIED THE EMERGENCY BRAKE AND CONTACTED THE FORD DEALERSHIP, ALAN JAY FORD, 3201 US HWY 27 SEBRING, FL 33870, 888-448-1737, AND SPOKE TO [XXX] IN THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT. SINCE IT WAS THE LABOR DAY WEEKEND, THE FIRST AVAILABLE APPOINTMENT IS NEXT TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 2, 2014 AT 0800 HOURS. I HOPE TO BE ABLE TO GET THE GEAR SHIFTER OUT OF PARK AND INTO DRIVE TUESDAY MORNING FOR THIS APPOINTMENT. THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD. THE GEAR SHIFTER SHOWS ITSELF IN THE PARK POSITION BUT IS INTERMITTENTLY NOT HOLDING. THE VEHICLE MOVES ON ITS OWN AS IT DID IN THE MCDONALD'S PARKING LOT, BUMPING UP AGAINST MY BACK. WHILE MAKING A LEFT TURN THE ENGINE SHUT OFF AND BARLEY GOT THROUGH THE TURN WITHOUT GETTING HIT BY ON COMING TRAFFIC. VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO CLOSEST GARAGE AND CHECKED OUT. THE WIRES ON THE FUEL PUMP IN THE TANK WERE MELTED. CALLED LINCOLN AND THEY SAID THEY HAD NO RECALLS AND COULD NOT DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT, AT THAT TEMPERATURE DON'T KNOW WHY IT DIDN'T EXPLODE OR START A FIRE SINCE IT IS SITTING IN THE GAS TANK.. *TR
