The contact stated while driving 35 MPH, there was an abnormal sound coming from the engine compartment, prompting the contact to pull over to the shoulder of the roadway. The vehicle was towed to the residence. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, who diagnosed a failure with the rocker arms, finding that the engine lacked adequate compression, resulting in damage to the engine. The contact was informed that the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure reoccurred. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but provided no assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 75,000.

THE TECHNICIAN STATED THAT THE FUEL TANK FAILED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 120,000.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 LINCOLN NAVIGATOR. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED, THE CONTACT HEARD A POPPING NOISE FOLLOWED BY A LOUD EXPLOSION. HE NOTICED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS ON FIRE. HE THEN HEARD MORE POPPING SOUNDS AND NOTICED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS COMPLETELY ENGULFED IN FLAMES. THE FIRE DESTROYED THE VEHICLE AND MELTED THE SIDINGS OF THE HOUSE AND SHED. THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN INSPECTED TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THE FIRE. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 1,500. THE CONSUMER STATED BEFORE THE FIRE REMEMBERS THE CRUISE CONTROL WAS ACTING ERRATIC AND THE HEAT IN THE VEHICLE WAS NOT WORKING AT THE TIME.
