WHILE DRIVING 20MPH PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG DEPLOYED WITHOUT WARNING, CAUSING INJURIES TO PASSENGER IN SEAT. TS...*AK
WHEN TRYING TO APPLY BRAKES THE BRAKE PEDAL WILL GO TO THE FLOOR CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO HAVE EXTENDED STOPPING DISTANCE. DEALER NOTIFIED. TS
WHEN VEHICLE WAS PUT INTO REVERSE, VEHICLE ACCELERATED FORWARD INTO A WALL. CONTACTED DEALER. *MR
THE TRANSMISSION SLIPPED. *MR THERE WAS A LOUD NOISE COMING FROM UNDER THE HOOD, THE TRANSMISSION LEAKED FLUID, AND WOULD NOT ENGAGE WHEN WARM. THE TECHNICIAN RESEALED THE TAILSHAFT PLUG. THE LUG NUTS WERE LOOSE SINCE THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASES. THE VEHICLE WOULD CUT OFF WHILE DRIVING. THERE WERE RATTLE NOISES COMING FROM THE CHASSIS WHEN GOING OVER BUMPS. THE LIGHT HAD COME ON, AND THE TEMPERATURE WOULD DROP BY ITSELF. SCC *NLM
GAS SHUT OFF VALUE IN TRUNK PREVENTS CAR FROM STARTING FROM TIME TO TIME, DEALER STATES UNKNOWN WHY? THIS HAS OCCURRED SINCE IPURCHASED VEHICLE AT LEAST 1O TIMES AND REPORTED SAME TO DEALER.
WHEEL LUGS: STUDS BROKE OFF AT THE HUB, VEHICLE WAS BEEN DRIVEN ON A EXTENDED CHARTER AS THIS VEHICLE IS A LIMOUSINE. THE VEHICLE HAD BEEN DRIVEN OVER THE WEEKEND ON NUMEROUS TRIPS AS THE CLIENT HAD THE VEHICLE ON CHARTER FOR 2 DAYS. THE DRIVER NOTICE THAT THE STEERING WHEEL STARTED TO SHIMMY EVEN AT LOW SPEEDS. WE HAVE HAD THE SAME SCENARIO HAPPEN ON ANOTHER VEHICLE BEFORE. THE NUTS ON THE STUDS ARE TREADED AS THOUGH THE WHEEL WOULD STILL BE TIGHT ON THE HUB. NO SIGN OF THE VEHICLE BEING TAMPERED WITH.*AK
CONSUMER STATES WAS BACKING OUT OF DRIVEWAY. PUT VEHICLE IN REVERSE AND CAR SUDDENLY ACCELERATED REARWARD ACROSS THE STREET AND COLLIDED W/ANOTHER VEHICLE. NLM. CONSUMER STATES THE THE EXHAUST PIPE AND MUFFLER WERE REPLACED , THE FRONT AND REAR SUSPENSION WAS ALIGNED.*JG
THE VEHICLE CONTAINED A SEVERE MALFUNCTION FLAW IN THE VEHICLE. *AK *JB
THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY ACCELERATED WHEN THE CONSUMER ATTEMPTED TO BACK OUT OF THE DRIVEWAY AND STRUCK A PARKED VEHICLE. THIS INCIDENT HAPPENED A DAY AFTER THE VEHICLE RECEIVED A 5 THOUSAND MILE CHECK UP. THE DEALER COULD NOT DUPLICATE. REFER TO ODI #8020090 MR SCC *JB

THIS LINCOLN TOWN CAR HAS BEEN STRETCHED 120 INCHES. MAY 2002 STOCKTON LINCOLN DIAGNOSED SYSTEM AND PUT DYE IN AND COULD NOT FIND LEAK. TO TOP IT OFF THEY WANTED 392.00 PAYMENT FOR THIS.AGAIN IN OCTOBER 2002 I WENT BACK IN WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. AT THAT TIME THEY FOUND 19700A4 COMPRESSOR ASSEMBLY-AIR CONDITIONER REMOVE AND INSTALLED OR REPLACED (19V703/19703) MILEAGE AT THAT TIME WAS 8952. NOW APRIL 2003, MILEAGE 13,200 THE A/C IS OUT AGAIN. THE SAME AS BEFORE. THE DRIVERS COMPARTMENT GETS SO HOT I HAVE TO ROLL THE WINDOW DOWN. FROM OCTOBER TO NOW I DID NOT NEED TO USE THE A/C DUE TO IT BEING WINTER. WHEN I TURN THE A/C ON IT BECOMES A SANA IN THE DRIVERS COMPARTMENT. I OWN ANOTHER LINCOLN TOWN CAR (NOT STRETCHED) AND KNOW QUITE WELL HOW TO OPERATE THE A/C - HEATER. I HAVE HAD NOTHING BUT PROBLEMS WITH THE A/C AND HEATER SINCE I PURCHASED THIS LINCOLN TOWN CAR. HELP.....
WHILE DRIVING 75MPH, VEHICLE RAN OVER A PEICE OF TIRE DEBRIS IN THE ROAD. RUBBER HIT SOMETHING UNDER VEHICLE WHICH CAUSED DRIVER'S SIDE AIRBAG TO DEPLOY AND CAUSE DAMAGE TO PANEL OF VEHICLE. MANUFACTURER SAYS IT'S DRIVER FAULT.*AK *TT
CONSUMER STATES THAT THE VEHICLE HAS EXPERIENCED SUDDEN ACCELERATION ON SIX OCCASIONS, THE ONLY WAY TO GET THE VEHICLE TO STOP IS BY HEAVY BRAKE PRESSURE AND TURNING OFF THE IGNITION, ON ONE OCCASION THE REAR WHEELS LOCKED UP. *SLC

AIR BAG LIGHT STAYED ILLUMINATED AFTER REPAIRED FOR THIRD TIME. DEALER WAS NOTIFIED, AND REPAIRED A LOOSE WIRE TO AIR BAG SENSOR.*AK CONSUMER BROUGHT VEHICLE IN FOR REPAIR REGARDING ILLUMINATION PROBLEM. THE NEXT DAY THE LIGHT ILLUMINATED AGAIN. VEHICLE WAS TAKEN IN AGAIN FOR REPAIRS ONLY FOR THE LIGHT TO ILLUMINATE DAYS LATER. CONSUEMR IS AFRAID TO DRIVE VEHICLE AND IS REQUESTING REIMBURSEMENT OF MONIES PAID FOR THE VEHICLE. ALSO THE BACK OF THE DRIVERS SEAT WILL NOT STAY SINCE HAVING IT REPAIRED. *JG
AFTER STARTING VEHICLE CONSUMER SHIFTED TO REVERSE, SUDDENLY VEHICLE ACCELERATED ON ITS OWN. VEHICLE CAME TO A STOP WHEN IT HIT A FIRE HYDRANT. DAMAGE WAS $ 3000.00. ON 28, MAY 2002 ,ALSO AT FIRST START, CONSUMER SHIFTED TO REVERSE AND VEHICLE ACCELERATED ON IT'S OWN. CONSUMER BRAKED, BUT WAS UNABLE TO STOP VEHICLE. VEHICLE CAME TO STOP WHEN IT HIT A FENCE. DAMAGE WAS $ 6700.00. NO INJURIES.*AK

DRIVER IS 363LBS, BUT HAS DRIVEN TOWN CARS AT THIS WEIGHT FOR 4 YEARS. NO PREVIOUS PROBLEMS WITH DRIVERS SEATS IN EARLIER 2000,1999,1998, OR 1997 MODELS. *AK
REFLECTION OF DEFROSTER RAIL ON FRONT WINDSHIELD IS MAKING IT DIFFICULT FOR CONSUMER TO SEE WHILE DRIVING, AND COULD CAUSE AND ACCIDENT. CAUSE UNKNOWN. DEALER NOTIFIED. REFLECTION WILL OCCUR ON ERRATIC BASIS BECAUSE OF THE SUN AND THE SHADE (NO PROBLEM AT NIGHT) *AK *SCC

I COULD NOT STOP THE CAR BY BRAKING, A CONCRETE BENCH HELD ME UP FROM CROSSING THE CURB AND GOING ON TO THE SIDEWALK. I AM NOT SURE IF IT WAS THE ACCELERATOR OR THE BRAKES . *AK

CONSUMER WAS PULLING INTO PARKING LOT AT HIS HOME AND VEHICLE SUDDENLY ACCELERATED, CAUSING VEHICLE TO RUN INTO CONSUMER'S HOUSE. NO INJURY WAS SUSTAINED.*AK *JB
VEHICLE STALLED WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH, MILEAGE WAS 154. DEALER COULD NOT FIND CAUSE. *AK *JB
WHILE DRIVING PASSENGER'S SIDE AIRBAG DEPLOYED AND INJURED PASSENGER. CONSUMER STATED THAT IF IT HAD BEEN ON DRIVER'S SIDE, AND CONSUMER WAS ON HIGHWAY, CONSUMER WOULD HAVE BEEN KNOCKED FROM STEERING WHEEL.THAT MAY HAVE BEEN A LIFE THREATENING SITUATION. CONSUMER TOOK VEHICLE TO DEALER, AND DEALER STATED THAT CONSUMER RAN OVER SOMETHING ON THE ROAD THAT TRIGGERED SENSORS FOR SIDE AIRBAG. VEHICLE HIT NOTHING. THIS WAS SECOND TOWN CAR THAT THAT CONSUMER HAS EXPERIENCED A LIFE THREATENING SITUATION. *AK VEHICLE PULLS TO THE LEFT. TRUNK WOULD NOT CLOSE PROPERLY DUE TO IT BEING OUT OF ADJUSTMENT. *SLC
AIR BAGS WILL NOT DEPLOY. AIR BAG LIGHTS HAD BEEN ON FOR A COUPLE DAYS. WHEN CONSUMER DRIVES VEHICLE AIRBAG LIGHT COMES ON. CONTACT DEALER, AND DEALER HAS VEHICLE IN SHOP TO DETERMINE CAUSE.*AK
ENGINE WILL SURGE INTERMITTENTLY CAUSING VEHICLE TO ACCELERATE. VEHICLE IS DIFFICULT TO STOP, INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH. DEALERSHIP HAS EXAMINED VEHICLE, AND COULD NOT DETERMINE CAUSE OF PROBLEM. PLEASE PROVIDE ANY ADDITIONAL INFORMATION/ATTACHMENTS.*AK
PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG DEPLOYED AT 70 MPH WITH NO IMPACT TO VEHICLE. LOST CONTROL OF VEHICLE TEMPORARILY AND CROSSED TRAFFIC TO OTHER SIDE OF ROAD. REGAINED CONTROL AFTER CROSSING BACK TO ORIGINAL LANE SHOULDER AND BRAKING HARD. VERY FRIGHTENING EXPERIENCE CONSIDERING THE NOISE, SURPRISE AND DUST FROM THE AIR BAG DEPLOYING. ONLY GOOD THING WAS THAT NO TRAFFIC WAS COMING IN OTHER LANE. *AK
WHILE DRIVING AT 15 MPH PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG DEPLOYED. DEALER CLAIMED THAT THE CONSUMER WAS AT FAULT, BUT REPAIRED THE PROBLEM ANYWAY. SEVERAL MONTHS LATER THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM OCCURRED A WHILE DRIVING ACROSS A GRAVEL ROAD. DEALER REFUSED TO REPAIR THE PROBLEM. *AK
SEVERE REFLECTION FROM DASHBOARD ON WINDSHIELD. PROBLEM HAS ALMOST CAUSED A VEHICLE CRASH DUE TO POOR VISIBILITY AND BLIND SPOT. DEALER WAS NOTIFIED, AND INFORMED CONSUMER THAT NOTHING COULD BE DONE ABOUT THIS SITUATION.*AKCONSUMER STATES AUTOMOBILE IS DANGEROUS WHILE OPERATING DURING DAY LIGHT DUE TO GLARE.*JB
THROTTLE JAMMED FULL OPEN ON START. CAR JUMPED WALK AND ALMOST HIT 3 PEDESTRIANS. *AK

HAD COME TO A COMPLETE STOP. WAS WAITING TO MAKE A LEFT TURN, WITH FOOT ON BRAKES, AND VEHICLE STARTED TO RACE/RPMS WENT UP. VEHICLE SUDDENLY ACCELERATED. TOOK TO DEALERSHIP THE SAME DAY TO HAVE IT CHECKED. WAS INFORMED VEHICLE WOULD NEED TO BE LEFT FOR A FEW DAYS TO BE TEST DRIVEN. OWNER WAS PROVIDED A RENTAL. ONCE VEHICLE WAS TEST DRIVEN, MECHANIC COULD NOT LOCATE ANY PROBLEMS WITH ACCELERATION. *AK
VEHICLE JUMPS FORWARD AND WON'T STOP. ENGINE REVS UP REALLY HIGH RIGHT BEFORE THIS HAPPENS. *AK CONSUMER STATES THAT FIRST, THE BRAKES FAIL, THEN VEHICLE STOPS AND ENGINE REVS UP, THIRD THE WHEELS SPIN WITH NO MOVEMENT. *SLC
WHEN BRAKES WERE APPLIED UNDER NORMAL CONDITION PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR, RESULTING IN EXTENDED STOPPING DISTANCE. DEALER WAS INSPECTING VEHICLE.*AK WHEN THE VEHICLE STOPPED, THE REAR WHEELS STARTED TO SPIN AND SMOKE. DEALER SAYS THER IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE VEHICLE. *YH
CONSUMER RECEIVED RECALL NOTICE 00V-270 ON THE AIR BAGS, THE CONSUMER HAS NOT YET HAD RECALL REPAIRS COMPLETED DUE TO LACK OF PARTS. *SLC
WHILE RIDING OVER A DEAD DOG THE PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG EXPLODED.*MR AFTER CONTACTING THE DEALER THEY STATED THAT A SENSOR UNDERNEATH THE CAR OBVIOUSLY TRIGGERED THE EXPLOSION. THE CONSUMER HAD TO PAY A $500 DEDUCTIBLE FOR SEAT REPAIRS CAUSED IN THE INCIDENT, AND WAS REQUESTING TO BE REIMBURSED FOR THE DEDUCTIBLE PAID BECAUSE OF THE DEFECTIVE AIR BAG SYSTEM. *CB

CONSUMER STATES FROM START UP OF VEHICLE, AND WHEN DRIVING FORM 0-20 MPH THERE IS A THUMPING NOISE, CONSUMER WAS INFORMED BY DEALER THAT WITH THIS MODEL VEHICLE THE THUMP APPEARS WHEN THE ABS SENSOR IS KICKING IN, CONSUMER TOOK VEHICLE BACK INTO DEALERSHIP FOR THE THUMPS AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE ACCUMULATOR IN THE A/C NEEDED TO BE REPLACED, BUT WOULD NOT CORRECT THE PROBLEM 100%, THE THUMPS ARE STILL THERE.*JB
WITHOUT WARNING KEY IN IGNITION WOULD LOCK WHEN TURNING KEY. MECHANIC HAS REPAIRED PROBLEM SEVERAL TIMES; HOWEVER, MALFUNCTION STILL OCCURS.*AK
