WHILE MY FATHER WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AT HIGHWAY SPEED THE PASSENGER FRONT SIDE AIRBAG DEPLOYED WITH NO WARNING OR IMPACT. THE DEPLOYMENT OF THE AIRBAG AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS WITHOUT A CRASH OR IMPACT STARTLED THE DRIVER WHICH CAUSED HIM TO CROSS INTO THE LANE NEXT TO HIM. THIS COULD HAVE BEEN SERIOUS HAD ANOTHER CAR BEEN BESIDE OF HIM. SERIOUS INJURY OR EVEN DEATH COULD BE CAUSED IF THE CONDITIONS ARE RIGHT. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2001 LINCOLN TOWN CAR. WHILE DRIVING 5 MPH, THE SIDE AIR BAGS ON THE PASSENGER SIDE SEAT DEPLOYED. THERE WAS NO IMPACT OR CRASH. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER AND THEY STATED THAT THE AIR BAG SENSOR DEACTIVATED AND CAUSED THE AIR BAG TO DEPLOY. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 00V412000 (AIR BAGS:FRONTAL:SENSOR/CONTROL MODULE). THE PURCHASE DATE WAS UNKNOWN. TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2001 LINCOLN TOWN CAR. WHILE DRIVING 40 MPH, THE SIDE AIR BAG DEPLOYED FOR NO APPARENT REASON. AS A RESULT, THE CONTACT'S WIFE WAS PUSHED ACROSS THE FRONT SEAT. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS PREVIOUSLY REPAIRED UNDER NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 00V270000 (AIR BAGS). THE AIR BAGS WERE REPAIRED AT THE COST OF $800. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 89,000. UPDATED 03/11/08. *LJ

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2001 LINCOLN TOWN CAR. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS FAILED INTERMITTENTLY. AS OF SEPTEMBER 24, 2007, THE DEALER HAD NOT INSPECTED THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT HER VIN WAS EXCLUDED FROM NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 01V258000 (VISIBILITY:WINDSHIELD WIPER/WASHER:MOTOR). THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 82,800 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 83,000.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2001 LINCOLN TOWN CAR EXECUTIVE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DRIVERS SIDE DOOR HANDLE DOES NOT RETURN TO ITS FULLY CLOSED POSITION AND WOULD NOT REMAIN CLOSED, CAUSING THE DOOR TO OPEN WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION. THE FAILURE WAS SIMILAR TO NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 08V058000 (LATCHES/ LOCKS/ LINKAGES DOORS, LATCH). THE MANUFACTURER WAS AWARE OF THE FAILURE; HOWEVER THEY INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT HER MODEL WAS NOT INVOLVED IN THE PREVIOUS RECALL AND TO TAKE THE VEHICLE TO A LOCAL DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED NOR WAS A DIAGNOSTIC TEST DONE DUE TO THE COST. THE CURRENT MILEAGES WERE APPROXIMATELY 84,000 AND THE FAILURE MILEAGES WERE APPROXIMATELY 70,000.
MY 2001 LINCOLN TOWN CAR HAS HAD TWO FAILURES OF SEAT BELT ITEMS, SPECIFICALLY THE 1W1Z-5461202-AAB BUCKLE (MADE IN MEXICO). THE FAILURE STARTS AS AN INTERMITTENT PROBLEM WHERE THE BUCKLE WILL NOT ACCEPT THE INSERT TO KEEP US IN OUR SEATS. BOTH BUCKLES FAILED IN THE SAME MANNER. *TR
ON BUSY INTERSTATE HIGHWAY AT HIGHWAY SPEED, ENGINE SUDDENLY QUIT WITH NO WARNING. SUBSEQUENT INVESTIGATION BY MECHANIC REVEALED FAILURE OF ELECTRIC FUEL PUMP IN FUEL TANK. REMOVED AND REPLACED ELECTRIC FUEL PUMP. *TR

SHE DEPRESSED THE BRAKE PEDAL, BUT NOTHING HAPPENED. THE CONSUMER CRASHED INTO HER DEN. THE INVESTIGATOR FROM HER INSURANCE COMPANY WAS UNABLE TO IDENTIFY THE CAUSE OF FAILURE. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED AN INJURY TO HER KNEE. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THE MILEAGE ON THE VEHICLE WAS 68,000. UPDATED 05/23/07. *JB
CERTAIN 2001 LINCOLN TOWN CARS HAVE BEEN RECALLED FOR THE FOLLOWING FAILURES, AMONG OTHERS (1) WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR FAILURE, AND (2) SEAT BELT FAILURE TO LATCH. I CONTACTED FORD MOTORS BUT THEY TOLD ME MY CAR WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL EVEN THOUGH I WAS EXPERIENCING THE SAME IDENTICAL PROBLEMS THESE TWO RECALLS WERE ISSUED FOR. MY WIPER MOTOR HAS FAILED AND THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT BELT WILL NOT LOCK. *TR
LAST WED., NOV. 8TH., 2006 MY LINCOLN TOWNCAR CARTIER DIED. WHEN THE TOW TRUCK CAME, HE POPPED OPEN THE HOOD AND NOTICED THAT A FUSE HAD POPPED UP. HE PUSHED IT DOWN AND THE CAR STRTED. THAT SAME AFTERNOON, IT HAPPENED AGAIN, AND I WAS ABLE TO FIX IT THE SAME WAY. I HAD THE CAR CHECKED FOR ELECTRICAL DEFECTS, AS WELL AS FUSE PROBLEMS AND THERE WERE NONE. LITHIA IN RENO SAID THAT THE TERMINALS WERE LOOSE UNDER THE FUSE BOX, REQUIRING A NEW ONE TOTAL COST: $1900.00 I AM VERY DISTRESSED ABOUT THIS. THIS IS A LUXURY CAR AND IT SHOULDN'T BE HAPPENING. I AM AFRAID IT WILL HAPPEN AGAIN. I FEEL THAT IT IS A MANUFACTURER'S DEFECT AND THEY SHOULD PAY THE EXPENSE. I HAVE ALREADY SPENT OVER $100. OF MY OWN MONEY. *NM

DT*: THE CONTACT STATED WHILE TRAVELING 20 MPH, THE VEHICLE'S PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG DEPLOYED WITH NO ACCIDENT INVOLVED. THE AIRBAG LIGHT WAS NOT ILLUMINATED AND THERE WAS NO BRAKING PRIOR TO DEPLOYMENT. THE SERVICE DEALER COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH THE AIRBAG.
COMMENTS: OUR 2001 LINCOLN TOWN CAR'S DRIVERS SIDE CURTAIN AIR BAG DEPLOYED UNINTENDED ON AUGUST 18TH, AT 7:00 PM WHILE WE WERE DRIVING ON A HIGHWAY. THERE WAS NO ACCIDENT, NO PRIMARY OR SECONDARY IMPACT, NO DEBRIS ON THE ROAD, NO POTHOLES, NO LOGS, ROCKS, TREES, COWS, OR OTHER DEBRIS FREQUENTLY ATTRIBUTED TO AN UNINTENDED DEPLOYMENT. THE FORD DEALERSHIP SERVICE MANAGER STATES THAT THERE IS AN IMPACT MARK UNDER THE BODY DIRECTLY UNDER THE AIR-BAG SENSOR BUT WE WERE DRIVING ON A PAVED ROADWAY AND NOTHING ON THE ROAD, AND NOTHING AROUND TO "RUN OVER". IF ANYTHING HAD BEEN RUN OVER PREVIOUSLY, THE AIRBAG SHOULD HAVE DEPLOYED THEN, AND NOT WAITED FOR AN UNDETERMINED PERIOD OF TIME. THE REACTION TO THE DEPLOYMENT HAD US IN THE RIGHT SIDE SHOULDER/DRAINAGE DITCH AS WE ASSUMED WE HAD BEEN HIT BY ANOTHER AUTOMOBILE (NONE IN SIGHT). A QUICK EXTERNAL EXAMINATION OF THE AUTO SHOWED NO IMPACT. WE HAD THE CAR IN THE DEALERSHIP RECENTLY TO HAVE AN AIRBAG WIRING HARNESS REPLACEMENT TO STOP A BLINKING AIRBAG LIGHT, THIS REPAIR BILLED TO OUR EXTENDED WARRANTY COMPANY (?). THE CURRENT REPAIRS ARE ALMOST $900.00, WHICH WE ARE HAVING TO PAY OURSELVES, FOR SOMETHING WHICH SHOULD BE A FORD SAFETY ISSUE. THE CAR SHOULD BE RETURNED TO US EARLY THIS WEEK (AUGUST 28-SEPT-1). WE HAVE NO ISSUE ABOUT THE WARRANTY AS THE CAR HAS 76,000 MILES, BUT THIS IS A SAFETY RELATED SITUATION THAT COULD HAVE POTENTIALLY CAUSED A SERIOUS ACCIDENT HAD THERE BEEN ANOTHER VEHICLE ALONG SIDE US AT THE TIME OF THE DEPLOYMENT. DT*: THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING 70MPH IN SMOOTH ROAD CONDITIONS, THE DRIVER'S SIDE CURTAIN AIR BAG DEPLOYED WITH NO PRIOR WARNING. THE CONTACT RECENTLY FILLED THE VEHICLE WITH GASOLINE 20 MILES PRIOR TO THE INCIDENT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION.
DT*: THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING 65MPH, THE BRAKES APPEARED SPONGY. UPON INSPECTION BY THE CONTACT, IT WAS DISCOVERED THE CLAMP THAT HOLDS THE BRAKE LINE TO THE STRUCTURE HAD RUSTED. AS A RESULT, THE BRAKE LINE BEGAN LEAKING. THE VEHICLE IS CURRENTLY AT THE DEALER FOR REPAIR.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2001 LINCOLN TOWN CAR. WITHIN 1,000 MILES OF PURCHASING THE VEHICLE, THE SEATS FAILED AND COULD NOT BE ADJUSTED FORWARD OR BACKWARDS. WHILE CHANGING THE OIL, THE DEALER FOUND THAT THE REAR SUSPENSION WAS FAILING AND THE STRUTS NEEDED REPLACING. IF THE VEHICLE WERE TO DRIVE OVER A POTHOLE, THE AXLE COULD FAIL. THE MANUFACTURER DID NOT OFFER ANY ASSISTANCE; HOWEVER, THE DEALER OFFERED TO REDUCE SOME OF THE $1,300 REPAIR COST. THE DEALER INFORMATION WAS UNKNOWN. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 30,180 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 26,000.
TL* - THE CONTACT OWNS A 2001 LINCOLN TOWN CAR. THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE WAS SITTING IN THE DRIVEWAY WHEN IT CAUGHT ON FIRE. THE VEHICLE HAD BEEN DRIVEN EARLIER IN THAT DAY, BUT HAD BEEN TURNED OFF PRIOR TO THE FIRE. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT WAS CALLED AND THEY WERE ABLE TO EXTINGUISH THE FIRE. DT*: THE CONTACT STATED THE CHROME ON THE INSIDE OF THE WHEELS IS PEELING CAUSING AIR TO ESCAPE. THE SUDDEN LOSS OF AIR RESULTED IN THREE OF THE TIRES BLOWING OUT OVER THE LAST TEN DAYS. THE TIRE DEALERSHIP DETERMINED ALL FOUR WHEELS WERE AFFECTED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. *NM

I STARTED THE CAR AND WHEN I PUT IT INTO REVERSE IT SUDDENLY ACCELERATED AND HIT A NUMBER OF OBJECTS INCLUDING A SMALL TREE. I WAS FINALLY ABLE TO TURN THE CAR OFF. *JB

DT: 2001 LINCOLN TOWN CAR. THE CONTACT STATES THE REAR SUSPENSION COLLAPSED. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AT 75 MPH WHEN THE REAR SUSPENSION GAVE WAY. THERE HAD BEEN NO PROBLEMS WITH THE SUSPENSION PRIOR TO THIS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE LINCOLN DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAY IT IS NOT UNDER THE WARRANTY. THE DEALERSHIP STATES THERE IS AN AIR COMPRESSOR PUMP THAT OPERATES THE AIR SUSPENSION BAG AND THAT QUIT WORKING. WHEN IT DEFLATED, IT MADE THE SHOCKS LEAK ON THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE. THE SUSPENSION IS SO BAD AT THIS POINT, ON THE WAY HOME WHEN DRIVING OVER A BRIDGE, THE CONTACT'S HEAD ALMOST HIT THE TOP OF THE VEHICLE. THIS OCCURRED ON OCTOBER 16, 2005. *AK
DT: THE CONSUMER PURCHASED A USED 2001 LINCOLN TOWN CAR THAT HAS A PROBLEM WITH THE RIGHT FRONT PASSENGER SEAT. THE CONSUMER DOES NOT KNOW IF THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED WITH THIS PROBLEM OR NOT BECAUSE NO ONE HAD SAT IN THE PASSENGER SEAT UNTIL NOW. THERE IS A LOOSENESS THAT ALLOWS THE SEAT TO MOVE ABOUT FREELY WHILE BEING SEATED. THIS HAPPENS AT ITS OWN FREE WILL, NO POWER ASSIST OR MANUAL MOVEMENT NECESSARY. THE CONSUMER IS CONCERNED BECAUSE THERE IS A PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG. THE CONSUMER TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER. THE DEALER SAID THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO ABOUT THE SEAT, AND COULD NOT OFFER ANY EXPLANATION AS TO WHY THIS PROBLEM MAY HAVE OCCURRED. NO REPAIRS OR CORRECTIONS HAVE BEEN MADE ON THE VEHICLE AT THIS TIME. THE CONSUMER HAS NOT CONTACTED THE MANUFACTURER. *AK *NM
WHEN THE CAR IS STOPPED WITH MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE THE IDLE SPEED WILL SUDDENLY AND UNCONTROLLABLY JUMP TO A VERY HIGH RPM. IT IS DIFFICULT TO PREVENT THE CAR FROM SUDDENLY SURGING AHEAD. I HAVE DISCOVERED THAT THE ONLY WAY TO STOP IT IS TO TURN OFF THE IGNITION. IT HAS HAPPENED FOUR TIMES. THE FIRST TIME I WAS SO STARTLED, I WASN'T SURE WHAT HAD HAPPENED. I THOUGHT MAYBE I HAD ACCIDENTLY HIT THE GAS PEDAL AND JAMMED IT. THE SECOND TIME, I REALIZED IT WAS NONE OF MY DOING. I WAS TRAVELING IN BUFFALO NEW YORK AND TOOK THE CAR TO A LINCOLN DEALER THERE ON JUNE 7, 2004. THEY COULD FIND NOTHING WRONG. WHEN I DROVE BACK TO VIRGINIA, IT HAPPENED AGAIN. I TOOK THE CAR TO CHERNER LINCOLN DEALER IN ANNANDALE ON JUNE 15, 2004.THET SAID IT WAS A FAULTY IDLE CONTROL VALVE AND REPLACED IT. ON JUNE 19, 2005 IT HAPPENED AGAIN. I TOOK IT BACK TO CHERNER LINCOLN. THEY COULD NOT REPRODUCE THE PROBLEM AND SO THEY WILL NOT REPAIR THE CAR. IN ALL FOUR INCIDENTS I WAS FORTUNATE THAT THERE WAS NO ONE IN FRONT OF ME AND THAT NO DAMAGE WAS DONE. THIS IS A 2001 LINCOLN TOWN CAR WITH 32000 MILES.
DT: THE CONTACT OWNS A 2001 LINCOLN TOWN CAR. WHILE DRIVING THE PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED WITH OUT AN ACCIDENT. SHE TOOK VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP, AND THEY NOTICED SCRAP MARKS UNDER THE CAR, AND SAID THAT WAS THE CAUSE OF AIR BAG DEPLOYING. BUT SHE DID NOT HIT ANYTHING AND SHE CANNOT UNDERSTAND HOW THAT WOULD MAKE THE AIR BAGS DEPLOY.*AK
I WAS PROCEEDING SOUTH ON INTERSTATE 71 HALFWAY BETWEEN CLEVELAND AND COLUMBUS, AT 55 MPH. THE ROAD WAS DRY. ALL OF A SUDDEN, THE CAR STARTED DRIFTING TOWARDS THE RIGHT. WHEN I TURNED THE WHEEL TOWARDS THE LEFT, THERE WAS NO IMMEDIATE RESPONSE. WHEN THE CAR RESPONDED, IT STARTED DRIFTING TOWARDS THE LEFT. I HAD NO STEERING CONTROL OF MY CAR FOR ABOUT 10 SECONDS. FORTUNATELY, I WAS ABLE TO STRAIGHTEN THE WHEELS, AND REGAIN CONTROL. I HAD MY MECHANIC INSPECT MY CAR, AND HE DETERMINED THAT THE POWER STEERING PUMP AND ITS ASSOCIATED ELECTRONIC CONTROL SWITCH HAD TO BE REPLACED, AS THEIR MALFUNCTION CAUSED MY LOSS OF STEERING CONTROL. I'VE SINCE HAD THOSE PARTS REPLACED. I NO LONGER HAVE THE OLD PARTS.
DT: WITHOUT WARNING THE PASSENGER'S SIDE AIR BAG DEPLOYED. SHE WAS JUST DRIVING AT NORMAL SPEED AND IN CLEAR WEATHER. DEALER AND MANUFACTURER SAID THAT THE CAR WAS TOO OLD, AND THEY WILL NOT DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT.*AK
WHILE DRIVING ON A GRAVEL ROAD AT APPROXIMATELY 10 MPH, AIRBAG FROM THE SIDE OF FRONT PASSENGER SEAT DEPLOYED. THERE WAS NO WARNING. WE HEARD A LOUD EXPLOSION, FOLLOWED BY SMOKE AND A FOUL ODOR. MY DAUGHTER, WHO WAS SITTING IN THE SEAT WAS SCREAMING IN PAIN. I IMMEDIATELY STOPPED THE CAR AND EXITED THE VEHICLE TO ATTEND TO HER INJURIES. AT FIRST WE THOUGHT SHE HAD BEEN SHOT. SHE HAD BURNS, CUTS, AND BRUISING ON HER BACK AND RIGHT SIDE. WE BOTH HAD TROUBLE BREATHING. WE FOUND A POLICE OFFICER AND HE TOLD US TO SEEK MEDICAL ATTENTION. WHICH WE DID. WE CONTACTED LINCOLN/FORD WHILE ON OUR WAY TO THE EMERGENCY ROOM. WE WERE DIRECTED FROM A RECORDING TO CONTACT LOCAL DEALERSHIP WITH ANY COMPLAINTS. WE CONTACTED THE CAVENAUGH LINCOLN DEALERSHIP IN JONESBORO, ARKANSAS. THEY EVEN NOTED ON THE WORK ORDER THAT I THOUGHT THERE WAS SOME KIND ON FACTORY DEFECT AND I WANTED THEM TO VERIFY OR DENY THIS. THEY IN RETURN CHARGED ME $103.00 FOR ESTIMATE THEY MADE OF THE REPAIRS. TO THIS DATE WE ARE STILL WORKING WITH OUR INSURANCE COMPANY TO SEE WHAT KIND IF ANY CHANGES OR REPAIRS THE MOTOR COMPANY ARE WILLING TO MAKE. *NM

WHILE I WAS DRIVING OUR 2001 LINCOLN TOWN CAR SOUTH ON I95 NORTH OF BALTIMORE, THE LEFT FRONT TIRE PASSED OVER A PIECE OF DEBRIS WHICH TRIGGERED ONLY THE DRIVER'S SIDE AIR BAG. FORTUNATELY, I DIDN'T LOOSE CONTROL. HOWEVER, I APPEAR TO HAVE SUSTAINED SOME "MODERATE ,PERMANENT" HEARING LOSS IN MY LEFT EAR BETWEEN 250-1800 HERTZ. I HAVE BEEN UNDER A DOCTOR'S CARE SINCE THE EVENT AND HAVE TAKEN 5 HEARING TESTS WITHOUT ANY SIGNS OF HEALING OF THE INNER EAR. LOCAL LINCOLN DEALERS INDICATE THAT THEY ARE NOT AUTHORIZED TO DO THE REPAIRS UNDER THE WARRENTY GUIDELINES AND REFUSED TO FIX THE AIR BAG/SEAT EVEN THOUGH THE CAR IS STILL UNDER FACTORY WARRENTY. THEY DIRECTED ME TO MY INSURANCE (GEICO) .I ASKED THEM ABOUT HAVING THEM READ OUT THE "BLACK BOX" HIDDEN ANALOG AND PRE-EVEN DATA-THEY RESPONDED THAT THEY DO NOT HAVE THE SOFTWARE TO READ THIS DATA. INDEPENDENT COMPANIES QUOTE $300 TO READ OUT THE PRE-EVENT DATA IN THE WASHINGTON DC AREA. I HAVE YET TO HAVE THE REPAIRS DONE -WHICH ARE BEING COVERED BY GEICO . I AM VERY CONCERNED ABOUT A DEALER'S INABILITY TO ASSURE ME THAT THE SYSTEM IS NOT DEFECTIVE AFTER THE REPAIR. I AM AWARE OF THE ODI EFFORTS/ANALYSIS RELATED TO THE TENDENCY OF THIS TO HAPPEN WITH THIS MODEL (BEFORE FORD MODIFIED THE SENSOR LOCATION AND SOFTWARE IN LATER PRODUCTIONS) AND I WOULD LIKE TO DISCUSS ODI'S APPROACH IN EVALUATING THAT THIS CAR HAS NO KNOW SAFETY DEFECTS IN SPITE OF THE LARGE NUMBER OF NON-SIDE ACCIDENTS TRIGGERING THE SIDE AIR BAG.*AK

AT 4,644 MILES RIGHT REAR TIRE TREAD TOTALLY SEPARATED WHILE IN ROUTE WITH CLIENT ON FREEWAY CAUSING LOSS OF CONTROL OF VEHICLE, BLOWOUT, AND EXTENSIVE DAMAGE (APPROX $4,000.00) TO LIVERY VEHICLE. YOKOHAMA TIRE CORP ASKED FOR TIRE AND DENIED LIABILITY ALTHOUGH OFFERED "GOOD WILL" OFFER OF $2,000 WITHIN DAYS. PRODUCT LIABILITY MANAGER ANNE STOTT INDICATED A ROAD HAZARD CAUSED SEPARATION, NOT DEFECT, AND SAID A ROCK THE SIZE OF HER HAND COULD HAVE CAUSED THIS. HUSBAND KEVIN BURNS IS ONLY DRIVER OF VEHICLE AND NEVER RECALLED ANY SUCH HAZARD OR INCIDENT. HIS DRIVING RECORD IS IMPECCABLE (OVER 35 YEARS, PROFESSIONAL DRIVER TOTAL OF 12 YEARS) AND KEVIN TAKES EXCEPTIONAL CARE OF HIS VEHICLES. IF ONLY A ROCK LIKE MS. STOTT SAID DID THIS WE FEEL THERE IS A SERIOUS LACK OF QUALITY CONTROL IN MANUFACTURER'S STANDARDS. THERE ARE OTHER SUCH COMPLAINTS IN FILE. CONSUMER DID EVERYTHING TO REMEDY THE PROBLEM, BUT PROBLEM ON VEHICLE STILL EXISTS. THE DEALER TOLD THE CONSUMER THAT THEY HAVE ALREADY DONE EVERYTHING IN THEIR POWER, AND IT'S NOW UP TO THE FORD SERVICE ENGINEER TO TAKE ON THE ISSUE. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE WIRING HARNESS WAS DEFECTIVE AND THEY MADE THE REPLACEMENT. APPROXIMATELY TWO MONTHS LATER THE AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE DEALER STATED THAT WIRING HARNESS SHOULD BE REPLACED. THE DEALER MADE THE REPLACEMENT HOWEVER THE AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED AGAIN APPROXIMATELY ONE MONTH LATER.
