THE CONTACT CALLED SOUTHGATE LINCOLN (16800 FORT ST, SOUTHGATE, MI 48195; 734-285-8800) WHO STATED THAT THE PARTS FOR THE REPAIR WERE UNAVAILABLE AND DID NOT KNOW WHEN THEY WOULD ARRIVE. I RECEIVED A RECALL LETTER IN JULY 2016, CALLED THE DEALER, AIRBAGS UNAVAILABLE. CALLED THE DEALER AGAIN DECEMBER 2016, SAME RESULT. RECEIVED A POSTCARD NOVEMBER, 2017. CONTACTED THE DEALER AGAIN, " I WAS TOLD TO WAIT UNTIL I RECEIVED ANOTHER LETTER FROM FORD MOTOR COMPANY IN A BROWN ENVELOPE!!! I NEED ACTION, NOW! THIS IS MY ONLY FORM OF TRANSPORTATION,
PARTS ARE NOT AVAILABLE TO REPLACE DEFECTIVE AIR BAGS.

IN JULY 2016 I RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE, DEALERS CONTACTED THEN DID NOT HAVE PARTS. SUBSEQUENT CONTACTS WITH BOTH DEALERS AND LINCOLN HAVE FAILED TO GET THE DEFECTIVE PARTS REPLACED.
TAKATA RECALL: RECEIVED A NOTICE VIA MAIL IN REGARDS TO THIS RECALL. TRIED TO CALL THE PHONE NUMBERS LISTED FOR CLAIMS (FREE AIRBAG REPLACEMENT) AND GOT NOWHERE. IT'S A PRERECORDED MESSAGE THAT GIVES YOU NO OPTION TO SPEAK TO ANYONE ABOUT HAVING YOUR AIRBAGS REPLACED.
TAKATA RECALL WE RECEIVED NOTICE THAT THE PASSENGER FRONT AIRBAG IS ON RECALL. I CALLED TO GET IT FIXED, AND THE DEALERSHIP DOES NOT HAVE THE REPLACEMENT. I BELIEVE THIS HAS BEEN UNDER RECALL FOR OVER A YEAR NOW. IT NEEDS TO BE FIXED ASAP AS MY CHILDREN ARE USING THIS CAR! I DO NOT UNDERSTAND HOW IT HAS TAKEN ALL THE TIME WITHOUT A REPLACEMENT.

MY VEHICLE HAS AN AIR BAG THAT IS LISTED AS A POSSIBLE DEFECTIVE UNIT. FORD AND LINCOLN HAVE NOT CONTACTED ME ABOUT A REPLACEMENT, AND I HAVE TRAVELED TO MY DEALER, CARRIAGE FORD, CLARKSVILLE IN 47130, AND THEY TELL ME IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO OBTAIN ONE OF THE REPLACEMENT DEVICES, AND THERE IS NO ANTICIPATED DELIVERY DATE FOR THESE.

TAKATA RECALL: SEVERAL DEALERSHIPS HAVE DENIED FIXING THE AIRBAGS BASED ON THE RECALLS I HAVE RECEIVED. THEY INFORMED ME THAT UNTIL I RECEIVE A LETTER STATING THIS RECALL NEEDS TO BE FIXED FROM NHTSA THEY WILL NOT FIX IT OR I WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE PAYMENT.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 LINCOLN ZEPHYR. WHILE DRIVING 70 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE DEALER (ALL STAR FORD, 2586 RANGE PARK DR, DENHAM SPRINGS, LA 70726, (225) 490-7649) WAS CONTACTED AND CONFIRMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN A RECALL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED AND THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND CONFIRMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN A RECALL. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 130,000.

DEALERSHIP (HAWK FORD OF OAK LAWN) STILL DOES ALLOW TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT FOR RECALL. THEY KEEP SAYING THEY DO NOT HAVE THE PARTS. HAVE BEEN CALLING FOR OVER 6 MONTHS TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT.

I CONTACTED THE LOCAL FORD DEALERSHIP IN CHATHAM AND THEY HAVE NOT RECEIVED A NOTICE OR REPLACEMENT PART FROM LINCOLN MOTOR COMPANY, AS OF NOV., 2017. I WANT TO GET THIS AIRBAG REPLACED, BUT THE FORD DEALERSHIP IS SAYING THEY CAN'T GET THE AIRBAG REPLACEMENT PART.

OUR FAMILY HAS ENDURED ALMOST 1 1/2 YEARS OF MENTAL STRESS WORRYING ABOUT GETTING INTO A SIMPLE FENDER BENDER BECAUSE IT COULD POTENTIALLY CAUSE SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH AS RESULT OF A LIFESAVING DEVICE THAT COULD IN FACT KILL THE DRIVER AND/OR PASSENGERS. EVEN THE INSURANCE COMPANIES WOULD NOT ASSIST IN PAYING FOR A RENTAL VEHICLE AS A PROACTIVE APPROACH TO AVOID A POTENTIAL CATASTROPHIC EVENT. TAKATA RECALL FOR PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG. THE AIRBAG LIGHT IS ILLUMINATING ON THE DASHBOARD NOW. I CALLED DEALERSHIP AND THEY ARE TELLING ME THAT THE PARTS FOR THE FIX WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE UNTIL NEXT YEAR SOMETIME. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE AS THIS IS A SERIOUS RECALL. I AM AFRAID TO DRIVE MY CAR.
WHEN ACCELERATING THE VEHICLE HESITATES ,MAKES A LOUD CLUNKING NOISE AND WHINES LIKE THE GEAR IS STUCK SHIFTS VERY HARD WHICH CAUSES THE THE VEHICLE TO LOSE POWER CAUSING SPEED TO GO TO A CRAWL, WHICH IS VERY VERY DANGEROUS IN ANY TRAFFIC ESPECIALLY, WHEN I M ON THE HIGHWAY AND IN INTERSTATE TRAFFIC.
