I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD ALL THE SUDDEN MY CAR STOPPED AND WOULD NOT ENGAGE. APPARENTLY MY CLUTCH JUST RANDOMLY WENT OUT. I HAVE TO COMPLETELY REPLACE THE ENTIRE THING $1000. MAZDA SAID ITS A NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR AT 67000 MILES WE SHOULD NOT BE DOING A COMPLETE REPLACEMENT OF THE CLUTCH. IT SHOULD NOT JUST RANDOMLY GO OUT WITHOUT ANY WARNING. *TR

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 MAZDA 3. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE TPMS LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS EXPERIENCED MULTIPLE TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 51,850.
MY MELTING DASHBOARD IS GETTING PROGRESSIVELY WORSE. I PURCHASED MY MAZDA USED IN APRIL 2014 AND DIDN'T NOTICE THE DASHBOARD ISSUE (AT THE TIME I TEST DROVE IT WAS DUSK). OVER THE PAST YEAR, IT HAS GOTTEN SO BAD IT CANNOT BE CLEANED OR EVEN TOUCHED. I PARK MY MAZDA IN THE GARAGE OR IN THE SHADE/USE SUNSHADES AT WORK. IN THE MORNINGS OR AFTERNOONS WHEN DRIVING ON THE BUSY HIGHWAY, THE GLARE IS SO BAD I SOMETIMES HAVE TO LIFT MYSELF OUT OF THE SEAT IN ORDER TO SEE THROUGH A PATCH OF WINDOW THAT DOESN'T HAVE THE GLARE. THIS IS ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS AND THE FACT THAT MAZDA IS ALLOWING THIS TO GO ON IN LIGHT OF THE HUGE SAFETY ISSUE IS ABHORRENT, NOT TO MENTION ALL THE CONSUMER COMPLAINTS. GET WITH THE PROGRAM MAZDA BEFORE SOME GETS SERIOUSLY INJURED OR KILLED! *TR
ON 4/19/14, I HAD A BROKEN TPMS SENSOR WHICH NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THIS SENSOR WAS ON THE PASSENGER SIDE, FRONT TIRE. THEN AGAIN ON 6/2/14, I HAD THE SAME PROBLEM ON A DIFFERENT TIRE - THE DRIVER SIDE BACK TIRE. *TR
DRIVER SEAT IS LOOSE AND ROCKS. A PIECE OF METAL DETACHED AND IT LOOKS LIKE VERY CHEAP METAL AND POOR WELDING. *TR
I HAVE A 2010 MAZDA 3, BOUGHT BRAND NEW, OFF THE LOT IN 2010 AND THE DASHBOARD IS MELTING, CAUSING A SEVERE GLARE ON THE WINDSHIELD. THIS IS CAUSING ME A DRIVING HAZARD AS THE GLARE MAKES IT HARD TO SEE! THE DASH MATERIAL IS ALSO CRACKING AND MELTING AROUND THE AC VENTS. *TR
DASHBOARD IS MELTING AND CAUSING GLARE ON WINDSHIELD. CONTINUES TO GET PROGRESSIVELY WORSE WITH THE HEAT. VISIBILITY GETTING WORSE AS WELL. *TR
THE FRONT DRIVER'S SEAT SHOULD BE FASTENED TO THE SLIDE ADJUSTER WITH FOUR PUSH NUTS (TWO PER SIDE), BUT EARLIER VIN NUMBERS ARE MISSING PUSH NUTS EITHER FROM WEAR OR BECAUSE MAZDA DID NOT INCLUDE THEM IN THE ORIGINAL DESIGN. BECAUSE THE PUSH NUTS ARE MISSING, THE SEAT FREELY ROCKS BACK AND FORTH. THE ROCKING CAN BE SO EXTREME THAT THE ENTIRE SEAT ROTATES BACKWARDS ONTO THE REAR BENCH. THIS IS EXTREMELY UNSAFE FOR AT LEAST TWO REASONS: 1) IF THE AIRBAG WERE TO DEPLOY IN AN ACCIDENT, THE FORCE WOULD KNOCK THE DRIVER AND SEAT BACKWARD RATHER THAN ABSORB THE IMPACT OF THE DRIVER'S BODY; AND 2) IF THE SEAT SUDDENLY ROCKED BACKWARD WHILE DRIVING, THE DRIVER COULD LOSE CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. MAZDA DESCRIBES THE ISSUE IN TSB 09-049/10, BUT PURPORTS THAT THE ISSUE MERELY PRODUCES A "RATTLE NOISE." BUT THE SEAT DOESN'T JUST RATTLE, IT ALSO HINGES ALL THE WAY INTO THE BACK SEAT AS DESCRIBED ABOVE. *TR
STICKY SUBSTANCE ON THE DASHBOARD HAS AFFECTED MY VISION WHILE I DRIVE DUE TO A HEATED CAR AND EXCESSIVE SUN GLARE. I PURCHASED A SUN VISOR WHICH IS NOW MELTING ONTO MY DASHBOARD. AT THE SLIGHTEST TOUCH A STICKY, GOOEY, TAR SUBSTANCE THAT BECOMES HOT RUBS OFF ONTO MY HAND.WHEN DRIVING, THE MELTING SUBSTANCE REFLECTS OFF THE GLASS AND MAKES IT HARD FOR ME TO SEE WHILE DRIVING. IN SUMMARY, MY DASHBOARD IS MELTING. . *TR

CONDENSATION FORMS IN HEADLIGHT HOUSING CAUSING HID MODULE TO SHORT CIRCUIT AND HEADLIGHT TO FAIL. SAFETY CONCERN REGARDING VISIBILITY COULD LEAD TO ACCIDENT. MANUFACTURER REFUSES TO TAKE BLAME FOR FAULTY CONSTRUCTION LEADING TO MALFUNCTION RESULTING IN CONSUMER HAVING TO PAY FULL COST OF HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY AND NEW HID MODULE. *TR
ONE OF THE ARMS THAT ATTACH ON THE DRIVERS SEAT BROKE IN HALF WHILE DRIVING. WHICH NOW CAUSES A ROCKING MOTION IN THE SEAT
I OWN A 2010 MAZDA 3. WITHIN THE LAST YEAR, THE DASH HAS STARTED TO MELT. I'VE CONTACTED MAZDA AND BECAUSE IT'S OUT OF WARRANTY, THEY WERE UNABLE TO HELP IN ANYWAY. THE CAR IS ONLY 4 YEARS OLD! *TR
THE DASHBOARD IN MY MAZDA 3 IS "MELTING". THE DASHBOARD IS STICKY, TACKY TO THE TOUCH AND DEFORMING. THE CAR IS 4.5 YEARS OLD AND THE DEALERSHIP WILL NOT COVER THE ISSUE UNDER THE EXTENDED WARRANTY, MY FACTORY WARRANTY EXPIRED LAST YEAR. THIS IS CLEARLY A MANUFACTURING DEFECT.THE DASHBOARD HAS BECOME SHINY IN THE AFFECTED AREA DUE TO THE "MELTING" AND IS REFLECTING THE SUNLIGHT INTO MY EYES DURING DRIVING IN SUNNY WEATHER AND IS BECOMING A SAFETY ISSUE. *JS
THE DASH HAS A GOO / HAS MELTED FROM HEAT SMELLS AND HAS CAUSED A SHINE THAT CAUSES DIFFICULTY TO SEE AS DRIVING. *TR
REAR TIRE WAS FLAT IN THE MORNING. COULD NOT FIND VISIBLE DAMAGE. PUMPED IT UP TO 32 PSI AND BY NEXT MORNING IT WAS 20 PSI. THREE DAYS LATER, A FRONT TIRE WAS FLAT. NO NOTICEABLE DAMAGE, BUT DID NOTICE A CRACKED TIRE STEM ON A THIRD TIRE. WENT TO A TIRE DEALER TO GET REPAIRS. WAS INFORMED THAT THREE OF MY FOUR TIRE PRESSURE MONITOR SENSORS WERE LEAKING. HAD ALL FOUR REPLACED AT MY EXPENSE. I DO NOT BELIEVE THIS IS A SAFETY IMPROVEMENT OVER NOT HAVING THE SENSORS WHICH ARE NOW REQUIRED BY LAW. *TR
INTERIOR DASHBOARD MELTING CAUSING BLINDING GLARE AND STICKINESS TO ANYTHING PLACED ON TOP OF IT. *TR
CLUTCH FAILURE WHILE DRIVING RESULTING IN DIFFICULTY STEERING AND LOSS OF CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. AS THE CARE HAD A LOW MILEAGE AND IS NEW YOU ARE NOT EXPECTING THIS KIND OF PROBLEM. NEED TO INVESTIGATE WHY THESE CLUTCHES ARE FAILING, SPECIFICALLY IN THE 2010 MODEL. *TR
MORE THAN A YEAR AGO, I STARTED TO NOTICE THAT MY DASHBOARD STARTED TO MELT. THE TOXIC FUMES STARTED AFFECTING MY ALLERGIES AND NOW I'M SUFFERING FROM SEVERE SINUSITIS. *TR
DASHBOARD IS VERY SHINY. STARTED TO REFLECT OF WINDSHIELD AND CAUSE A GLARE. VERY STICKY AND IS LITERALLY MELTING. HAS A CONSTANT SHINE CAN NO LONGER CLEAN IT AND GLARE IS GETTING WORSE AND DANGEROUS AT THIS POINT. *JS

I'M WRITING THIS COMPLAINT TO OFFICIALLY DETAIL, IN WRITING, THAT MAZDA HAS REFUSED TO ACKNOWLEDGE THE FACT THAT THE DASHBOARD ON MY 2010 MAZDA3 HAS MELTED! I BROUGHT THIS ISSUE TO THEIR ATTENTION THIS PAST APRIL, 2014, WHEN I HAD MY CAR AT MY LOCAL SHOP FOR OTHER REPAIR ISSUES. MY ADVISOR CALLED LATER THAT AFTERNOON TO SAY THAT HIS MANAGER STATED THAT BECAUSE MY CAR WAS "OUT OF WARRANTY", IT WAS MY RESPONSIBILITY TO REPLACE THE DASHBOARD AT A COST OF APPROXIMATELY $1000 OUT OF POCKET! THEY WERE NOT ACCOMMODATING AT ALL. THIS IS COMPLETELY LUDICROUS! CARS SHOULD NOT MELT! MY DASHBOARD IS TOTALLY RUINED! I CAN NEVER AGAIN EVEN WIPE IT OFF AS IT HAS LITERALLY TURNED INTO THE CONSISTENCY OF FLYPAPER! THE MELTED, STICKY, MESS GETS ON/RUINS EVERYTHING IT TOUCHES! AND, THIS ISN'T EVEN THE WORST PART! THE GLARE THAT RADIATES OFF OF MY WINDSHIELD AT CERTAIN TIMES OF THE DAY IS HORRIFIC! DRIVING IS A TOTAL SAFETY HAZARD!! I AM AFRAID TO DRIVE MY CAR! IT'S SO DANGEROUS! I HAVE PICTURES I CAN SEND IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO SEE THEM! I FIND THIS TO BE COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE! WARRANTY OR NOT, THIS IS A BLATANT DEFECT IN THE MANUFACTURING OF THIS CAR! MY LOCAL NEWS CHANNEL HAS DONE AN INVESTIGATION ON THIS ISSUE AND THE LAST I HEARD, LAWYERS ARE GETTING INVOLVED AND THEY HAD MENTIONED A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT AGAINST MAZDA, LEXUS, AND NISSAN. SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE. THIS IS NOT A RARE INCIDENT! THIS IS A HUGE, PREVALENT PROBLEM! NOT TO MENTION, THE VALUE OF MY CAR IS NOW IN THE TOILET! IF I WENT TO TRADE IT IN OR SELL IT, EVEN THOUGH IT ONLY HAS 59,000 MILES, I WOULD TAKE A HUGE HIT ON WHAT I WOULD GET FOR IT! THIS IS A DEFECT! MAZDA NEEDS TO BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE AND THEY NEED TO BE FORCED TO REPLACE ALL OF THESE DEFECTS (USING NEW, UPDATED DASHBOARD MATERIAL SO IT DOESN'T HAPPEN AGAIN), AT NO COST TO THE CONSUMER, BEFORE SOMEONE GETS KILLED BECAUSE OF THE GLARE ISSUE CAUSED BY THIS! *TR
WHEN MY VEHICLE WAS ABOUT 4 YEARS OLD MY DASHBOARD STARTED TO MELT COMPLETELY. IT LEAVES A GLARE ACROSS MY WHOLE WINDSHIELD OBSTRUCTING MY VIEW.
ENTERED THE VEHICLE TO GO TO WORK. SAT DOWN IN THE DRIVER'S SEAT, IMMEDIATELY HEARD A POP AND THE SEAT BECAME UNSTEADY (WOBBLY). AFTER WORK I LOOKED AT THE BOTTOM OF THE SEAT AND SAW THAT A WELD BROKE LOOSE FROM A BAR THAT STABILIZES THE SEAT. IT IS VERY DISCONCERTING TO THE DRIVER WHILE OPERATING THE VEHICLE AND MAY CONTRIBUTE TO THE POSSIBILITY OF FUTURE CRASHES. THE SAFETY OF THE SEAT DURING A CRASH SCENARIO IS COMPROMISED. *TR
TIRE PRESSURE GAUGE BROKE OFF, RESULTING IN SUDDEN LOSS OF TIRE PRESSURE AND THE NEED TO SUDDENLY SLOW AND PULL OVER. AFTER TAKING IT INTO BE SERVICED, THE MAZDA DEALER SAYS ALL FOUR ARE CORRODED, AND NEED TO BE REPLACED. AT 4 YEARS AND LESS THAN 40,000 MILES, THIS SEEMS CLEARLY LIKE A POTENTIAL SAFETY PROBLEM WITH THE CAR IN GENERAL. *TR
MY MAZDA3 DASHBOARD IS MELTING. I HAVE NEVER USED ANY CHEMICAL SUBSTANCES TO CLEAN THE INTERIOR OF MY CAR. I LIVE IN SOUTH FLORIDA AND I'VE RECENTLY BEEN USING A SUNSHADE PROTECTOR BUT THAT DOESN'T NOT SEEM TO BE HELPING. THE GLARE FROM THE DASHBOARD AFFECTS MY VISION OF THE ROAD. I CONSTANTLY HAVE TO CLEAN MY WINDSHIELD WITH MILD DISH SOAP BECAUSE THE RESIDUE TRANSFER FROM MY SUNSHADE ONTO MY WINDSHIELD. THE COST OF REPLACING MY DASHBOARD IS NOT INCLUDED IN MY EXTENDED WARRANTY PACKAGE. I HAVE COMPLAINED TO MY MAZDA DEALER ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS, BUT I WAS TOLD THAT I WOULD HAVE TO PAY $1,200.00 TO REPLACE THIS PROBLEM. IS THERE ANYTHING THAT CAN BE DONE? *TR
THE DASHBOARD ON MY 2010 MAZDA 3 BEGAN MELTING AT THE BEGINNING OF THE YEAR. OVER TIME, MORE OF THE DASHBOARD HAS BECOME STICKY AND SHINY. SOMETIMES THE SHININESS IS SO REFLECTIVE THAT IT MAKES IT DIFFICULT FOR ME TO SEE WHEN I AM DRIVING ON A SUNNY DAY. THE VEHICLE RESIDES IN HAWAII AND IS KEPT IN A GARAGE WHEN NOT IN USE. *TR
DRIVER SEAT IS LOOSE AND MOVES DURING BRAKING OR TURNING A CORNER. THIS CAN MAKE IT HARD TO CONTROL THE VEHICLE. IF THIS WOULD BREAK LOOSE DURING A CRASH HOW WOULD THIS EFFECT AIR BAG OPERATION. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 MAZDA MAZDA3. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 20 MPH, SHE HEARD AN UNUSUAL NOISE OUTSIDE OF THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS MANEUVERED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD TO INSPECT THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT NOTICED THE DRIVER'S SIDE REAR TIRE PRESSURE MONITOR SENSOR WAS FAULTY AND CAUSED THE TIRE TO DEFLATE. THE TIRE WAS REPLACED WITH A SPARE TIRE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER FOR REPAIR. THE CONTACT WANTED TO INCLUDE THAT IF SHE WERE TRAVELING AT GREATS SPEEDS THE FAILURE COULD HAVE BEEN HAZARDOUS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE PROBLEM. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 15,850.
IN LAST 6 MONTHS MY DASHBOARD IS MELTING! I HAVE NOTICED IT WAS GETTING SHINY AND STICKY AS IF SOMEONE HAD POURED GLUE ON IT. I HAVE TRIED TO USE NUMEROUS DIFFERENT CLEANERS AND NOTHING HAPPENS. THE SURFACE IS SO SHINY IT IS CAUSING GLARE WHEN I DRIVE OR MT TEENAGERS DRIVE THE CAR. THIS IS UNSAFE. NOW I AM RESEARCHING AND FIND NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS ABOUT SAME ISSUE. IS THIS ALSO AFFECTING MY AIRBAG? *TR
THE DASHBOARD IS MELTING!! IT APPEARS THAT IT IS DETERIORATING CAUSING VISIBILITY ISSUES. IT IS BECOMING STICKY AND APPARENTLY IS A MANUFACTURER DEFECT. AS THE SUN GLARES DOWN ON THE WINDSHIELD, THE SUNS' RAYS BOUNCE OFF THE SHINY DASHBOARD CAUSING ME TO LOSE VISION IN TRAFFIC. THE MAZDA DEALER IS NOT WANTING TO REPLACE IT STATING IT IS OUT OF WARRANTY. THEY WANT ME TO PAY OVER $400 FOR THE LABOR AND 50% OF THE PART. I EVEN CALLED THE MAZDA HQ AND THEY REFUSE TO COVER THE DAMAGE, STATING THEY COULD DO NOTHING BETTER THAN THE OFFER THE DEALERSHIP GAVE ME. I REQUESTED TO SPEAK TO HIGHER UP MANAGEMENT AT CORPORATE BUT WAS TOLD BY THE REPRESENTATIVE THAT NOBODY COULD ASSIST ME FURTHER. THIS IS SO ABSURD!!! PLEASE HELP BEFORE I HAVE AN ACCIDENT. *TR
MY DASHBOARD IS MELTING. THE GLARE GETS SO BAD I CAN'T SEE OUT OF THE WINDSHIELD. *TR
THIS VEHICLE HAD WHAT IS BEING REFERRED TO AS A "MELTING DASHBOARD". THE MATERIAL HAS A DEFECT WHICH CAUSES IT TO BECOME SOFT AND STICKY, RESULTING IN A SHINY SURFACE THAT CAUSES A DANGEROUS GLARE. VISIBILITY BECOMES IMPAIRED, USUALLY BECAUSE OF A REFLECTION ON THE WINDSHIELD. MY UNDERSTANDING IS THAT THIS OCCURS MOST FREQUENTLY IN REGIONS WITH HIGH TEMPERATURE AND HUMIDITY. MAZDA INSPECTED MY VEHICLE AND VERIFIED THAT MINE WAS AFFECTED BY THIS CONDITION. THEY REFUSED TO REPAIR IT UNDER WARRANTY BECAUSE IT HAD RECENTLY EXPIRED. AS A GOODWILL GESTURE, THEY SUPPLIED THE REPLACEMENT PART AND I PAID FOR LABOR. THIS IS A DEFECTIVE PART. IT SHOULD BE RECALLED. TOYOTA AND LEXUS HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM WITH CERTAIN MODEL YEARS AND ARE REPLACING THEIRS AT NO COST TO THE OWNER. *TR
THE DASHBOARD IS MELTING ON THE MOUND ABOVE THE STEERING WHEEL, IN DIRECT LINE OF VIEW OF ROAD AND CONTINUES TO SPREAD. STICKY GLUE TYPE TEXTURE THAT NEVER DRIES. UNABLE TO PUT A SUN BLOCKER IN THE VEHICLE TO CONTAIN THE SPREADING ISSUE AND WHILE DRIVING IT CREATES GLARE. *TR
DASHBOARD MELTED FROM HEAT, MADE THE DASHBOARD STICKY AND SHINY TO THE POINT WHERE VISIBILITY CAN BE AFFECTED IF THE SUN HITS IT THE RIGHT WAY MAKING IT DIFFICULT TO SEE SPOTS IN THE ROAD. POTENTIAL HAZARD TO HIT, PROPERTY, PETS, OR EVEN SMALL CHILDREN. IF THEY CAN RECALL MAZDA FOR SPIDERS IN THEIR ENGINES THEN WE SHOULD BE ABLE TO RECALL TO FIX THIS VISIBILITY HAZARD. *TR
I HAVE HAD MY VEHICLE FOR ALMOST 4 YRS.THE DASHBOARD STARTED TO MELT IN 2013. IT CREATES A SHINY REFLECTION ON THE FRONT GLASS WHICH BECOMES VERY IRRITATING UNABLE TO SEE CLEARLY. *TR
THE TIRE PRESSURE SENSORS BECAME CORRODED. ONE BROKE OFF DURING GETTING NEW TIRES INSTALLED, THE SECOND HAPPENED WHILE I WAS FILLING THE TIRE WITH AIR. IT JUST FELL APART IN MY HAND. *TR
2010 MAZDA 3. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO VEHICLE TIRES, SOFTNESS OF THE BRAKE AND RESURFACING ROTORS. *SMD THE CONSUMER STATED A VISUAL INSPECTION REVEALED THE TRANSMISSION FLUID NEEDED TO BE REPLACED, THE TIRES WERE WEARING UNEVENLY, AND THE VEHICLE PULLED TO THE LEFT. ALSO, THE BATTERY WAS REPLACED.
DASHBOARD COVER IS MELTING CAUSING EXTREME GLARE AND INABILITY TO DRIVE SAFELY.
POWER STEERING ASSIST LIGHT CAME ON AND STAYED ON. CAR WAS VERY HARD TO STEER. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 MAZDA, MAZDA3. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING 35 MPH WHEN THE POWER STEERING WARNING LAMP ILLUMINATED AS THE POWER STEERING ASSIST FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER FOR INSPECTION. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE POWER STEERING ASSIST MODULE WAS FAILING AND THAT THE FAILURE COULD RECUR SPORADICALLY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE INCIDENT. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 54,000.
BOTH HEADLIGHTS SHORTED OUT AT THE SAME TIME. ONE MINUTE THEY WORKED AND THE NEXT THE DID NOT. HAD TO WAIT TO MOVE CAR AND TAKE TO DEALERSHIP TILL DAY LIGHT SINCE THIS HAPPENED IN THE DARK. LUCKILY WE HAD STOPPED SO THEY DID NOT FAIL WHILE DRIVING. FOUND OUT UPON INSPECTION THIS IS A PROBLEM DUE TO THE MOISTURE THE HEADLAMP CASE ALLOWS INSIDE. WE HAD COMPLAINED ABOUT THIS MOISTURE PREVIOUSLY BACK IN 2011 AND 2012. WE HAD BEEN INFORMED IT WAS A DEFECT JUST AS WE HAD BEEN TOLD WITH OUR 2004 MAZDA 3. INTERESTING ENOUGH WE FIND OUT THAT IN THE 11 TIMES OUR VEHICLE WAS SERVICED AT GALPIN MAZDA IN 2012 THERE HAD BEEN A SERVICE BULLETINS ON THIS EXACT ISSUE AND RECOMMENDED TO REPLACE THE DEFECTIVE HEADLAMPS. GALPIN DID NOTHING. NEVER EVEN MENTIONED ANYTHING BUT SIMPLY RESPONDED WITH " ITS A KNOWN DEFECT." SERVICE BULLETIN #SB-09-003-13. ANOTHER SERVICE BULLETIN #09-005-11, AND ANOTHER #SB-09-057-10. UPON SPEAKING TO OTHER MAZDA MECHANICS, WE LEARNED THIS HAS BEEN AN ONGOING ISSUE. WE HAD EXPERIENCED IT FOR YEARS WITH OUR 2004 AS STATED PREVIOUSLY BUT NEVER REALIZED IT WAS THE INSIDE CONDENSATION CAUSING THE BULB TO BLOW. THE FACT THAT MAZDA KNOWINGLY CONTINUED MANUFACTURING THESE DEFECTIVE HEADLAMP CASINGS AND NEVER RECALLED THEM IS UNACCEPTABLE. WHAT IF WE HAD BEEN DRIVING WHEN THEY FAILED? AS IT WAS WE HAVE SPENT 2 MONTHS NOW DEALING WITH BOTH MAZDA AND GALPIN, WHO BOTH WANT TO WASH THEIR HANDS OF ANY WRONG DOING. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE. MAZDA KNOWS IT. DEALERS KNOW IT, YET IT IS ALLOWED TO CONTINUE. THE COST TO REPLACE THE PARTS NOW ARE OVER 3 THOUSAND DOLLARS. WE ARE SUPPOSED TO PAY FOR THEIR CONSTANT AND KNOWING ERRORS. THAT IS NOT ACCEPTABLE AND THEY NEED TO BE STOPPED AND MADE TO FIX THIS PROBLEM BEFORE SOMEBODY DIES IN AN ACCIDENT WITH THEM FAILING. *TR
CONDENSATION FORMED INSIDE DRIVERS HEADLIGHT CAUSING A FAILURE OF THE DRIVERS SIDE HID (XENON) HEADLIGHT AND BALLAST. EXISTING TSB (NHTSA REFERENCE #10037655 TSB REFERENCE #SB-09-057-10) FOR THIS CONDITION. THIS NEEDS TO BE UPGRADED TO A RECALL SO MAZDA CANNOT REFUSE REPAIR DUE TO OUT OF WARRANTY VEHICLES FOR TIME/MILEAGE. THIS IS A KNOWN DEFECT AS SHOWN IN THE ABOVE REFERENCED TSB AND MAZDA IS REFUSING TO FIX WHEN VEHICLE IS OUT OF THE 3YR/36,000 MILE WARRANTY. CORPORATE MAZDA HAS BEEN IN CONTACT WITH LOCAL DEALERSHIP WHICH HAS VERIFIED THAT HID LAMP/BALLAST FAILURE WAS DIRECTLY CAUSED WITH CONDENSATION FROM ABOVE REFERENCED TSB. AFTER VERIFICATION FROM LOCAL DEALERSHIP, MAZDA CORPORATE (800-222-5500) REFUSES TO ASSIST WITH GETTING VEHICLE FIXED AND OPERATING CORRECTLY AND SAFELY. *TR
BOUGHT THIS CAR USED IN JUNE 2013, AND NOTICED IN NOVEMBER OF 2013 IT STARTED TO BECOME STICKY ON THE DASHBOARD AS IF IT IS MELTING.. DIDNT REALLY BECOME AN ISSUE UNTIL IT BEGAN TO GLARE INTO MY WINDSHIELD CAUSING ME TO BE UNABLE TO SEE. I CANNOT CLEAN, OR TOUCH ANY PART OF THE DASHBOARD BECAUSE IT IS SO MELTED AND STICKY IT STICKS TO MY HANDS IF I DO. IT IS IN MY DIRECT VIEW OF WHERE I SHOULD BE LOOKING TOWARDS THE ROAD. HUGE ISSUE THAT NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED. *TR
