I HAVE NOW HAD TWO TPMS VALVE STEMS SNAP OFF WHILE NEEDING TO INFLATE MY TIRES. BOTH CRACKED IN HALF AT THE THREADED PART OR THE STEM. COST IS $150 EACH TO REPLACE. MAZDA CORPORATE SAYS THIS IS "NORMAL". I HAVE DRIVEN 500,000 IN MY LIFE AND NEVER HAD A VALVE STEM CRACK OFF. THIS CAR HAS HAD TWO. FORUMS ARE LITTERED WITH THIS ISSUE. PEOPLE COMPLAINING OF FAILURE WHILE DRIVING AND TIRES GOING FLAT ON THE HIGHWAY. WILL SOMEONE NEED TO DIE FOR MAZDA TO CHANGE THESE DANGEROUS MONITORS? *TR
I WAS DRIVING TO WORK. ROAD WAS WET. VEHICLE GETS IN FRONT OF ME AND I HAD TO TURN QUICK TO AVOID HITTING THIS VEHICLE. I LOST CONTROL, LUCKILY NO ONE WAS INJURED. I KNOW DSC IS NOT SUPPOSED TO REPLACE A SAFE DRIVER, BUT IN AN EMERGENCY SITUATION LIKE THIS IT SHOULD OF AT LEAST HELPED ME OUT. IT TURNED COMPLETELY OFF. THE DSC LIGHT CAME ON PERMANENTLY AS WELL AS THE ABS LIGHT AND THE BRAKE LIGHT. AFTER TURNING THE VEHICLE OFF THEN BACK ON THE LIGHTS CAME OFF. WHEN I TOOK THE CAR TO THE MAZDA DEALER AND WAS COMPLETELY IGNORED BY THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT AS TO THE SYSTEM HAVING ANY PROBLEM AT ALL. SO I DECIDE TO GO TO AN EMPTY PARKING LOT AND TRIED TO REPEAT THE SAME EMERGENCY SITUATION I WAS AND INDEED THE SYSTEM FAILED AGAIN. I WENT BACK TO THE MAZDA DEALER AND SHOWED THEM, AND APPARENTLY THE ONLY SOLUTION TO THEM IS REPLACE THE DSC MODULE. THIS WOULD OF BEEN SUFICIENT FOR ME IF THE SYSTEM WASN'T $700, AND SINCE MY VEHICLE HAS 50000 MILES ON IT AND I NO LONGER HAVE THEIR INITIAL WARRANTY EFFECTIVE, THEN IT'S A MUST STRIVE SITUATION. THE ONLY REASON I'M COMPLAINING IS BECAUSE OF THE POOR QUALITY OF THIS SYSTEM, THE HAZARDOUS SITUATION IT COULD COMPROMISE MAZDA DRIVERS AND OTHERS AROUND THEM, AND THE FACT THAT MAZDA IS IGNORING THIS DESPITE THOUSANDS OF CUSTOMERS COMPLAINING.
THE DASHBOARD IS MELTING AWAY, VERY STICKY AND VERY SHINY CAUSING THE SUN TO IMPAIR VISION AS I'M DRIVING. *TR
PARKED CAR AFTER SHORT DRIVE. WHEN RESTARTED CATASTROPHIC POWER STEERING FAILURE VERY SIMILAR IN SYMPTOMS OF THE RECALL FOR MODELS AS LATE AS 2009. WOULD NOT BE SURPRISED TO FIND A 2009 PART IN THE CAR. THE CAR IS NOT DRIVABLE EXCEPT BY PERSON WITH AMPLE UPPER BODY STRENGTH TO MAN-HANDLE STEERING AND IS A SIGNIFICANT SAFETY HAZARD. *JB
DASHBOARD ABOVE INDICATION PANEL IS STICKY/TACKY AND LIGHT REFLECTING OFF OF THIS SECTION IS VISIBLE ON THE WINDSHIELD JUST BELOW EYE LEVEL.
MY DASHBOARD BEGAN TO MELT, AND HAS CONTINUED TO DO SO SINCE. THE DASHBOARD IS STICKY AND COLLECTIONS DUST AND GRIM. THE MELTED MATERIAL HAS A GLOSSY SHINE WHICH REFLECTS A BRIGHT GLARE INTO THE DRIVERS EYES AND ONTO THE WINDSHIELD. IT IS COSMETICALLY UNATTRACTIVE AND CAUSES A DRIVING HAZARD WHEN OPERATING THE VEHICLE. *TR
THE FRONT DASH IN MY VEHICLE HAS BEEN MELTING AND KEEPS GETTING WORSE AS TIME GOES ON. WHEN I RUB A CLOTH ACROSS IT, THE FABRIC STICKS TO THE DASH. I'M VERY GOOD ABOUT USING A SUNSHIELD WHEN PARKED OUTSIDE, BUT THIS HAS NOT PREVENTED THE MELTING. *TR
THE DASHBOARD IS MELTING. IT CREATES A HORRIBLE TOXIC NAUTIOUS PLASTIC SMELL. THE MELTING OF THE DASH CREATES A VISUAL SAFETY ISSUE DUE TO THE INTENSE REFLECTIVE GLARE IT CREATES FROM ITS NOW SMOOTH SURFACE. THE GLARE BOUNCES OFF THE DASH THEN REFLECTS AN INTENSE GLARE OFF THE WINDSHIELD MAKING THE WINDSHIELD DIFFICULT TO SEE THROUGH.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 MAZDA, MAZDA3. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE HAVING THE VEHICLE SERVICED, THE TECHNICIAN ADVISED THAT THE MOTOR MOUNT WAS CRACKED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. ALSO, THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE TIRE WENT FLAT WITH THE ILLUMINATION OF THE TIRE SENSOR WARNING LIGHT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A PRIVATE MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TIRE SENSORS WERE CORRODED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 76,000.
DASHBOARD IS MELTING, STICKY AND CRACKING. WHILE DRIVING DURING THE DAY WHEN THE SUN IS OUT, IT CREATES A GLARE RIGHT AT EYE LEVEL CAUSING UNSAFE VISIBILITY ISSUES. IT IS ALSO A STICKY MESS, WHICH CAUSES DUST, DEAD BUGS AND HAIR TO STICK TO MY DASHBOARD. *TR
VEHICLE LOST POWER MULTIPLE TIMES SHUDDERING ON THE ROAD. FAULTY WIRING HARNESS WAS DISCOVERED BY THE DEALERSHIP. THIS ISSUE WAS PRESENT ON PREVIOUSLY PRODUCED MAZDA 3S FOR THE YEAR BUT THE DEALERSHIP STATED THAT THIS PARTICULAR VIN DIDN'T FALL INTO THE PRODUCTION NUMBERS FOR THE RECALL. THIS ISSUE SEEMS TO BE PRESENT ON MORE CARS THAN JUST THE 25,000 THAT WERE RECALLED IN 2009. *TR
VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED NEW. THE DASHBOARD IS MELTING. IT IS STICKY TO THE TOUCH AND SHINY. THE SHINY AREAS REFLECT SUNLIGHT AND CAUSE DIFFICULTY SEEING OUT OF THE WINDSHIELD. THIS SHOULD BE REPLACED BY THE MANUFACTURER AS IT IS AN OBVIOUS MATERIAL DEFECT! *TR
FOR ABOUT A YEAR NOW I HAVE BEEN NOTICING THAT MY DASHBOARD HAS BEEN MELTING. IT HAS GOTTEN SUCCESSIVELY WORSE TO THE POINT NOW THAT THE MELTING DASHBOARD IS REFLECTING ON THE WINDSHIELD. THE REFLECTION HAS GOTTEN SO BAD DURING THE DAY WHEN THE SUN IS OUT THAT THE VISIBILITY IS GREATLY IMPAIRED. MY SON WAS DRIVING THE CAR THE OTHER DAY AND HE TOLD ME HE COULD NOT SEE OUT BECAUSE OF THE GLARE. THAT IS THE POINT WHERE I DECIDED TO CONTACT THE MANUFACTURER. IT SEEMS THAT THEY WILL PAY FOR THE PART BUT THEY ARE ASKING ME TO PAY $170.00 FOR THE LABOR. THIS IS HAPPENING THROUGH NO FAULT OF MY OWN. IT IS A SAFETY RISK FOR WHOEVER IS DRIVING THE CAR AND SHOULD THEREFORE BE COVERED COMPLETELY BY THE MANUFACTURER BEFORE THERE IS LIVES LOST THROUGH THIS. *TR
DASHBOARD MELTING. THE DASHBOARD HAS MELTED. IT CAUSES A SEVERE GLARE ON THE WINDSHIELD THAT MAKES IT DIFFICULT TO DRIVE AT TIME. HAVE HAD TO COVER UP WHEN THIS OCCURS.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 MAZDA3. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 50 MPH, THE REAR PASSENGER'S SIDE TIRE WENT FLAT WITH THE ILLUMINATION OF THE TIRE SENSOR WARNING LIGHT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR DIAGNOSIS WHERE IT WAS STATED THAT THE TIRE SENSORS WERE CORRODED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED AND THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 65,000.
WITHIN 2 DAYS OF DRIVING, MY MAZDA 3 HAD TWO SEPARATE INCIDENTS, WHERE THE VALVES OF THE TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING SYSTEM (TPMS) FAILED, ON TWO SEPARATE TIRES. ON MONDAY, JULY 18, 2013 WHILE TRAVELING AT HIGHWAY SPEED ON RT. 25 IN BOURNE, MA, THE TIRE PRESSURE WARNING LIGHT CAME ON. I STOPPED AT THE NEAREST GAS STATION. THE DRIVER'S FRONT TIRE WAS VERY FLAT. WHEN I ATTEMPTED TO FILL IT WITH AIR, THE VALVE PUSHED INTO THE TIRE. LUCKILY, I WAS AT A GAS STATION AND THEY WERE ABLE TO REPAIR THE TIRE WITH "STANDARD" (NON-TPMS) VALVE AND I WAS ON MY WAY. AS I WAS ON VACATION. I PARKED THE CAR FOR A WEEK. WHEN I RETURNED TO MY CAR (JULY 22), I DROVE THE CAR FOR ABOUT 50 MILES. I STOPPED TO HAVE LUNCH AND NOTICED THAT THE DRIVER'S SIDE REAR TIRE WAS VERY FLAT. WHEN I ATTEMPTED TO PUT AIR INTO THE VALVE, IT TOO PUSHED INTO THE TIRE. THAT IS TWO TPMS VALVES THAT FAILED IN TWO DAYS OF DRIVING. I CALLED MAZDA CUSTOMER SERVICE (800-222-5500, EXT. 6) EXPLAINED THE SITUATION TO JOSE (EXT. 1180). HE WAS SYMPATHETIC, BUT WOULD NOT COMMIT TO MAZDA REPAIRING THE TPMS VALVE AT NO COST TO ME. I AM HAVING MY MECHANIC PUT IN NON-TPMS VALVES IN THE REMAINING TWO TIRES ON THE CAR, AS I FEEL THEY ARE A REAL SAFETY HAZARD. I WILL NOT DRIVE THE CAR UNTIL IT IS REPAIRED. I WENT ON TO THE INTERNET AND THERE ARE NUMEROUS INSTANCES OF VALVE FAILURES ON MAZDA3 CARS (HTTP://CARPROBLEMZOO.COM/MAZDA/MAZDA3/TIRE-PRESSURE-MONITORING-SYSTEM-PROBLEMS.PHP). I PLAN TO TAKE THE FAILED COMPONENTS TO WELLSLEY MAZDA, IN WELLSLEY MA WHERE THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED, FOR EVALUATION. I DO NOT TRUST THE RELIABILITY OF THE TMPS SYSTEM IN MY MAZDA3, AND APPARENTLY THERE ARE OTHERS WHO FEEL THE SAME. THE FAILURE OF THE TPMS VALVES IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE AND ONE THAT THE NHTSA SHOULD CONSIDER INVESTIGATING. TIRE FAILURE AT HIGHWAY SPEED CAN LEAD TO VERY SERIOUS ACCIDENTS.
CAR WAS PURCHASED IN 2009 AND UP UNTIL LAST YEAR I HAD VERY FEW PROBLEMS AND WAS VERY HAPPY WITH THE CAR. HOWEVER, LAST YEAR I NOTICED MY DASHBOARD APPEARED TO BE VERY SHINY AND EXTREMELY STICKY. IT APPEARED AS THOUGH SOME TYPE OF GLUE HAD BEEN POURED ON IT. WHEN I TOUCHED THE DASHBOARD THE MELTED MATERIAL WOULD COME OFF ON MY FINGERS. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP WHO SAID THEY HAD NEVER SEEN ANYTHING LIKE IT. THEY ARRANGED TO HAVE THE MAZDA AREA REPRESENTATIVE COME AND LOOK AT IT. HE EXAMINED THE DASHBOARD AND TOLD ME HE HAS SEEN THIS BEFORE, MOSTLY IN STATES LIKE FLORIDA, THAT ARE BASICALLY HOT ALL YEAR. HE STATED IT WAS THE GLUE USED TO SECURE THE DASHBOARD WHICH WAS LEACHING UP. HE APPROVED THE DEALERSHIP TO REPLACE THE PART AT NO CHARGE, HOWEVER THE DEALERSHIP SAID IT WOULD COST $300.00 TO HAVE IT INSTALLED. IF THE PART WAS FAULTY WHY DO I NEED TO PAY TO HAVE THE NEW PART INSTALLED. I HAVE DONE NOTHING AND CONTINUE TO HAVE A DEFECTIVE DASHBOARD, MY CONCERN IS WILL THE AIRBAG WORK CORRECTLY INSIDE THIS DEFECTIVE DASHBOARD? I HAVE RECENTLY SEEN THE INVESTIGATIVE REPORT ON MY LOCAL NEWS CONCERNING THIS ISSUE. WITHOUT QUESTION THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE IN MY OPINION. *TR
WHILE CHECKING A CUSTOMER'S TIRE PRESSURE THE TPMS SENSOR BROKE CAUSING ALL AIR TO ESCAPE THE TIRE, IMMOBILIZING THE VEHICLE. WE HAD A NEW TPMS SENSOR INSTALLED AND THE TIRE REPAIRED FOR $81.41. *TR
THE DOCUMENTED DATE ABOVE (07/13/13) IS MY MOST RECENT INCIDENT WITH MY VALVE STEM/TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING SYSTEM FALLING OFF WHILE DRIVING. IN JUNE 2012 WITH ~34,000 MILES, WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY, MY FIRST VALVE STEM/TPMS FELL OUT, NOT BEING ABLE TO DRIVE ON THAT WHEEL (NO AIR), AND THE WHEEL COULD NO LONGER BE USED UNTIL I HAD A MAZDA DEALER REPLACE THE PART. THIS WAS A VERY DANGEROUS EXPERIENCE FOR MY TIRE TO SUDDENLY DEFLATE WHILE MOVING AT FAST SPEEDS. THIS WAS FIXED UNDER MY ALMOST TERMINATED WARRANTY. ONE MONTH LATER, THE VALVE STEM/TPMS ON ANOTHER WHEEL CAME OFF WHILE DRIVING AND THIS HAD TO BE REPLACED LIKE THE OTHER ONE. MOST RECENTLY, MY THIRD WHEEL TPMSENSOR WENT WHILE ALSO DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY, VIGILANTLY MAINTAINING CONTROL ON MY VEHICLE UNTIL I COULD PULL OFF THE HIGHWAY. THIS TREND SHOWS A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE/INADEQUATE PARTS USED DURING CONSTRUCTION. THERE IS NO PRESCRIBED CARE FOR THESE PARTS IN THE MAZDA OWNERS MANUAL NOR IS THERE ANYWAY TO KNOW THAT THESE WOULD MALFUNCTION UNTIL THEY DID. 3 OUT OF 4 IS UNACCEPTABLE AND UNSAFE AND SHOULD SHOW A TREND. WHEN I CALLED MAZDA, THEY TOLD ME THAT THE COST OF THIS RECENT REPAIR WAS MINE BECAUSE THE VEHICLE, NOW AT ~55,000 MILES WAS NO LONGER UNDER WARRANTY. THESE PARTS WERE DYSFUNCTIONAL FROM THE BEGINNING AND SHOULD HAVE ALL BEEN REPLACED AT MY FIRST INCIDENT IF THIS WAS TO HAPPEN AGAIN, AND AGAIN. I AM NERVOUS THAT THIS COULD HAPPEN TO MY FOURTH WHEEL WHILE DRIVING, POTENTIALLY CAUSING AN ACCIDENT. *TR
ONLY OWNER OF A 2010 MAZDA 3. ISSUES WITH CAR SINCE PURCHASING. REPLACED TIRES IN WINTER OF 2012, FEW WEEKS LATER TIRE PRESSURE LIGHT CAME ON. FILLED TIRES WITH AIR. FEW WEEKS LATER, SAME OCCURRENCE. BROUGHT CAR TO THE PLACE WERE THE TIRES WERE PROFESSIONALLY INSTALLED. THE INSPECTED OVER ALL 4 TIRES AND FOUND THAT 2 OF THE 4 TIRE STEMS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. CALLED MAZDA CORP AND THEY STATED THE CAR NEEDED TO GO TO A DEALERSHIP TO BE DIAGNOSED. ( FOR LEAKING TIRE STEMS ). CALLED MY LOCAL MAZDA WHERE THE CAR WAS PURCHASED, THEY WERE GREAT AND SAID THEY WOULDN'T CHARGE A FEE TO DIAGNOSE LEAKING STEMS AS IT WAS OBVIOUS. THEY DID FIND THAT 2 OF THE 4 WERE BROKEN. 1 WAS ACTUALLY SNAPPED IN HALF. NO DRIVER ERROR NOTED, OR DAMAGE TO RIM. IF YOU GOOGLE THIS ISSUE THERE ARE OTHER COMPLAINTS OUT THERE REGARDING THIS, BUT MAZDA STILL WONT RECOGNIZE THIS AS A SAFETY ISSUE. MY QUESTION BEING... WHAT IF THE STEMS FAILED AT A HIGH RATE OF SPEED ???? *TR
NOTICED MOVEMENT/LOOSE DRIVERS SEAT, TOOK TO DEALER, SAID BASIC WARRANTY HAD EXPIRED, BUT MILEAGE LOW SO MAZDA MAY COVER. MAZDA COVERING PART, BUT NOT LABOR. THE SEAT IS LOOSE, BRACKET IS CRACKED THAT HOLDS SEAT. IS THIS A SAFETY ISSUE THAT SHOULD BE COVERED UNDER THE SAFETY WARRANTY? *TR
MELTING DASHBOARD - CAUSES AWFUL GLARE IN WINDOW AT TIMES OF DAY. *TR
TPMS ALERTED DRIVER TO LOW AIR PRESSURE IN A TIRE. CHECKED TIRE, PRESSURE LOW (SUBSEQUENTLY FOUND SCREW IN TIRE). ONCE AIR NOZZLE PLACE ON VALVE STEM, IT SNAPPED IN HALF AND ALL THE AIR IMMEDIATELY WENT OUT OF THE TIRE. OTHERS CHECKED AND ARE CORRODED AND BRITTLE. DEALER AND LOCAL AUTO MECHANIC BOTH STATED LIKELY TO HAPPEN AGAIN WITHOUT WARNING. MATERIALS USED IN THE VALVE STEM SHOULD BE CHANGED TO MAKE THEM FLEXIBLE, LIKE THE OLDER ONES WITHOUT THE MONITORING SYSTEM. REPLACED VALVE STEM WITH $5 STEM OF FLEXIBLE MATERIAL TO PREVENT SAFETY ISSUE IN THE FUTURE. *TR
DASHBOARD AND VISOR'S MELTED OFF.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 MAZDA 3. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DASHBOARD HAD A STICKY RESIDUE OR FILM THAT WAS BUILDING UP. AS THE FAILURE PROGRESSED, THE DASHBOARD DETERIORATED. THE CONTACT ALSO EXPERIENCED A FAILURE WITH THE DRIVER'S SIDE SEAT BELT BUCKLE, WHICH WAS DIFFICULT TO UNBUCKLE. THE CONTACT HAD TO MAKE NUMEROUS ATTEMPTS TO UNLOCK THE BUCKLE. THE CIGARETTE LIGHTER DETERIORATED AND CAUSED THE CONTACT'S CHARGER TO BECOME STUCK AND UNABLE TO BE REMOVED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THERE WAS AN ELECTRICAL MALFUNCTION NEAR THE CONSOLE OF THE CIGARETTE LIGHTER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 65,000.
I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE EALRY 2010. AROUND 2013 MY DASHBOARD STARTED TO SHINE A BIT IN A SMALL SECTION BY THE DRIVER SIDE. I TOUCHED IT AND THE MATERIAL OF THE DASHBOARD WAS STICKY. NOW, 2016, THE WHOLE DASHBOARD IS STICKY AND SHINEY DUE TO WHAT I FOUND OUT WAS A MELTING DASHBOARD. THIS IS CAUSING A HORRIBLE REFLECTION ON MY WINDOW WHEN DRIVING, ESPECIALLY WHEN THE SUN HITS. EVEN AT NIGHT I HAVE TROUBLE SEEING PROPERLY. MY VISIBILITY DRIVING IS BEING AFFECTED AND IT IS NOT SAFE. ON TOP OF THAT, EVERYTHING STICKS TO MY DASHBOARD AND ENDS UP WITH BLACK GUNK ON IT. THE PICTURES I'VE ATTACHED DO NOT DO IT JUSTICE, IT'S WORSE THAN WHAT IT LOOKS IN THE PICTURES.
TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING SYSTEM SENSOR FAILED CAUSING THE TIRE TO BLOWOUT AND GO FLAT ON THE HIGHWAY. THE STEM OF THE SENSOR WAS CORRODED WHICH CAUSED THE INCIDENT. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 MAZDA3 . THE CONTACT STATED WHILE ATTEMPTING TO START THE VEHICLE IT FAILED TO START WITH THE ILLUMINATION OF ALL OF THE PANEL LIGHTS. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE DEALER STATED THE HARNESS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED AND THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 46,000. *TR
WAS DRIVING ON HIGHWAY AND RPM STARTED TO REV UP, COULDN'T SWITCH GEARS AND CLUTCH GAVE OUT FROM UNDERNEATH ME. LUCKILY WAS ABLE TO ROLL OFF THE HIGHWAY WHEN I NOTICED THE PROBLEM. OF COURSE ONE PROBLEM LEADS TO ANOTHER BATTERY THEN DIED AT THE SHOP, HAD TO REPLACE AS WELL, THIS COMES NOT EVEN A MONTH AFTER THE ROTORS FOR BRAKES HIT THE FAN. JUNE 9TH 2013, VEHICLE EXPERIENCED LOSS OF INFLATION PRESSURE IN PASSENGER FRONT TIRE WHILE DRIVING. DEALERSHIP CONFIRMED TPMS VALVE SEAL FAILURE WAS ROOT CAUSE OF AIR LOSS. CHECK OF OTHER TPM SENSORS CONFIRMED DRIVER SIDE FRONT SEAL WAS ALSO DEFECTIVE AND LEAKING SMALL AMOUNTS OF AIR. BOTH REPLACED UNDER WARRANTY WITH DEALER INDICATING THIS AS A KNOWN ISSUE. SEPTEMBER 16TH 2013 PASSENGER REAR TIRE EXPERIENCED AIRLOSS WHILE DRIVING VEHICLE. DEALER INVESTIGATION CONFIRMED TPM VALVE FAILURE. PART NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY OR DEALER GOODWILL. FAILURE OF SAFETY-CRITICAL PART AFTER ~3 YEARS OF FIELD EXPOSURE IS NOT ACCEPTABLE. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 MAZDA MAZDA 3. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 55 MPH, THE TIRE PRESSURE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT INSPECTED THE VEHICLE AND NOTICED THAT THE REAR PASSENGER'S SIDE VALVE STEM AND SENSOR WAS CORRODED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE THE VALVE STEM WAS REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,000. *TR
TOP FRONT DASHBOARD IS MELTING. THE MATERIAL IS NOW STICKY AND CAN'T BE CLEANED BECAUSE THE RAG/TOWEL STICKS. WHEN TOUCHED BLACK RESIDUE STICKS TO YOUR HANDS AND WHEN DRIVING THE SUN REFLECTS OFF THE SHINY STICKINESS AND CAUSES A DRIVING HAZARD ON THE WINDSHIELD. *JS
DRIVERS SEAT FEEL LOOSE AND WIGGLES. UNKNOWN HOW IT WOULD HOLD UP DURING A CRASH. *TR
THE DASH HAS BEEN MELTING FOR THE LAST 3 YEARS. IN THE SUMMER IT GETS SQUISHY AND HAS STARTED TO FALL APART. USING SUN SHIELD IS DIFFICULT BECAUSE THEY STICK TO THE DASH AND THE DASH MELTS TO THE COVER.
THE DASHBOARD, PARTICULARLY THE PART OVER THE STEERING WHEEL IS MELTING. IT IS STICKY AND SHINY, AND IT CREATES A HORRIBLE GLARE ON THE WINDSHIELD AT CERTAIN TIMES OF THE DAY.
MY TIRE PRESSURE LIGHT WAS ON, I STOPPED AT THE GAS STATION TO PUT SOME AIR IN AND AS I REMOVED THE PLASTIC VALVE CAP THE VALVE CRACKED AND BROKE OFF LEAVING ME WITH A FLAT TIRE. *TR
WITHIN THE LAST YEAR, THE HEAT FROM THE SUN HAS MELTED THE DASHBOARD. IT BECOMES STICKY AND FLAKING OFF. THE MAJOR ISSUE IS THE GLARE IT CAUSES ON THE WINDSHIELD WHEN DRIVING. *TR
THE DASHBOARD ON MY 2010 MAZDA 3 STARTED MELTING ABOUT TWO YEARS AGO BECOMING MORE STICKY AND REFLECTIVE OVER TIME TO POINT WHERE IT HAS A PLASTIC, CHEMICAL SMELL EMITTING FROM IT. MOREOVER, IT HAS BECOME ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO SEE OUT OF THE DRIVER SIDE WINDOW DUE TO THE SEVERE REFLECTION. THIS HAS PROGRESSIVELY WORSENED OVER THE PAST YEAR. I AM IN DISBELIEF THAT THE MANUFACTURER WOULD USE MATERIAL FOR A DASHBOARD THAT MELTS AND EMITS CHEMICALS. CLEARLY, MAZDA CHOSE TO USE INFERIOR MATERIALS FOR THE DASHBOARD. CONSIDERING THE PLETHORA OF COMPLAINTS AND STATEMENTS REGARDING THE SAFETY ISSUE OF LIMITED VISIBILITY DUE TO REFLECTION, IT IS VASTLY IRRESPONSIBLE THAT MAZDA HAS NOT ISSUED A RECALL TO CORRECT THIS PROBLEM. VEHICLE OWNERS SHOULD NOT BE LEFT TO SEEKING CLASS ACTION LAW SUITS TO MAKE MAZDA CORRECT THEIR MISTAKE.

PLEASE ALSO NOTE I HAD MY MAZDA 3I FOR ONLY A LITTLE OVER 2 YEARS AT THAT TIME. WITHIN THE LAST YEAR, I HAVE ALREADY HAD TO REPLACE TWO OF THOSE TIRES DUE TO LEAKS/BLOWOUTS. UPON TAKING MY CAR BACK TO THE SELF-SAME FIRESTONE DEALERSHIP IN WEST LONG BRANCH, NJ FOR CLOSER INSPECTION, ED GONZALEZ, THE MANAGER, INDICATED TO ME THAT THE TIRE VALVE STEM ON THE TIRE MOST RECENTLY "DECEASED"' (LEFT REAR) HAD ACTUALLY FALLEN OUT OF THE TIRE AND INTO THE WHEEL WELL WITHOUT EVER BEING TOUCHED BY ANYONE PREVIOUSLY (I HAVE PHOTOS OF DEFECTIVE STEMS. UPON CLOSER INSPECTION, THE TIRE VALVE STEM IN THE RIGHT REAR TIRE IS ALSO DEFECTIVE TO THE EYE. I HAVE BOTH DEFECTIVE STEMS AND [XXX] WILL ATTEST-IN WRITING-TO THE FACT THAT THEY ARE BOTH DEFECTIVE-AND THE ORIGINAL, FACTORY-INSTALLED TIRE VALVE STEMS THAT I RECEIVED ON MY MAZDA 3I IN FEBRUARY, 2010. BLACK 2010 MAZDA 3, PURCHASED USED IN DECEMBER 2011; ABOUT A YEAR AND A HALF LATER THE DASH STARTED GETTING STICKY AND NOW IT IS LITERALLY MELTING. I HAVE NEVER USED ANY CLEANING PRODUCTS ON THE INTERIOR OF THE CAR AND WHEN I DO CLEAN THE INSIDE OF MY CAR, I USE A SOFT TOWEL. NOW I CANT EVEN CLEAN MY DASHBOARD, DUE TO THE STICKINESS AND POSSIBILITY OF RUINING IT EVEN MORE. THE DASH CAUSES A SEVERE GLARE WHILE DRIVING AND I FEEL THIS LACK OF VISIBILITY IS A HAZARD TO THE OPERATOR OF THE VEHICLE, PASSENGERS, OTHER DRIVERS, AND PEDESTRIANS. *TR
DASHBOARD BEGAN GETTING STICKY, AND NOW IT IS A GOOEY SHINY MESS. THERE IS A REFLECTION IN MY WINDSHIELD, AND IT CAUSES A GLARE THAT DECREASES THE VISIBILITY. THE DASHBOARD IS ALSO SOFT WHERE IT HAS NOT GOTTEN SO BAD. I KNOW THAT THERE ARE OTHER OWNERS WITH THE SAME ISSUE. THERE NEEDS TO BE A RECALL OR SOME OTHER FORM OF REMEDY. *TR
CHECKING TIRE PRESSURE IN DRIVEWAY AND TPMS SENSOR - TIRE VALVE CRACKED AND FAILED IN 3 OF 4 TIRES/WHEELS. TWO TODAY, AND THE FIRST APPROX. 3 MONTHS AGO. IMAGINE WHAT COULD HAPPEN IF ONE OF THESE VALVES FAILED WHILE . DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE SEAT BRACKET HAD FRACTURED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,000 AND THE CURRENT THE VEHICLE WAS 86,000.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE SEAT BECAME SEPARATED FROM THE BASE DUE TO DEFECTIVE WELDING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 81,160.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER AND IT WAS FOUND THAT THE INSIDE OF THE VALVE STEMS HAD RUSTED. THE DEALER DETERMINED THAT THE VALVE STEM NEEDED TO BE REPLACED WITH A RUBBER STEM INSTEAD OF A METAL ONE TO PREVENT RUST. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 27,000. *TR
