I HAVE A CRACK LIKE A Y LONG PASSENGER-SIDE DASHBOARD ANDMY AIRBAG SENSOR LIGHTS HAS BEEN GOING ON AND OFF ON DIFFERENT TIMES
I WAS DRIVING TO WORK TODAY AND SIMILAR TO THE PREVIOUS POSTS, MY POWER STEERING LIGHT LIT UP AND STEERING ASSIST FAILED. 4 TIMES IN THE 4 MILE TRIP. *JS
WHILE DRIVING, MY FRONT DRIVER SEAT BROKE LOOSE FROM THE LEFT RAIL. AFTER INSPECTING THE SEAT, I NOTICED IT BROKE OFF THE PART THAT IS WELDED TO THE RAIL. THIS COULD HAVE EASILY CAUSED AN ACCIDENT. I'VE ALREADY SEEN MULTIPLE OTHER RELATED INCIDENTS REPORTED. I'M GOING TO THE MAZDA DEALER TOMORROW AND SEE WHEAT THEY WILL DO. PS. I'M 180 POUNDS, SO IT SEEMS THIS SEAT WAS POORLY WELDED. *JS
THERE IS A HAIRLINE CRACK IN MY 2010 MAZDA 3 DASHBOARD. IT IS DIRECTLY OVER THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG AND I FEEL THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE. I LIVE IN BUFFALO AND THE CRACK IS WORSE IN THE WINTER. I SPOKE WITH MAZDA AND SAID THIS WOULD BE EXPENSIVE TO REPAIR, HOWEVER, I HAVE CHECKED ONLINE AND MANY OTHER DRIVERS OF MAZDA'S HAVE HAD THIS ISSUE. I WOULD LIKE TO GET THIS FIXED, HOWEVER, I AM A GRADUATE STUDENT AND CANNOT AFFORD THIS. I WOULD LIKE TO MAKE SURE THIS IS ONLY COSMETIC AND NOT A SAFETY CONCERN. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 MAZDA 3. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THERE WAS AN ELECTRICAL SHORT OR MALFUNCTION IN WHICH THE GAUGES, SENSORS, AND WARNING LAMPS FLICKERED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE CONTACT ALSO NOTICED THE RADIO WAS SHORTING INTERMITTENTLY. LATER, THE VEHICLE HESITATED AND STALLED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC AND THE TECHNICIAN WAS NOT ABLE TO REPLICATE OR DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT CONTINUED TO EXPERIENCE THE FAILURES AND THE VEHICLE STALLED MORE THAN FIVE TIMES WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE EACH TIME. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNAVAILABLE.
HAVE A 2010 MAZDA3 2.5S 5 DOOR AND THE DRIVER SEAT ROCKS AND JOLTS. HAVE FOUND FORUMS AND THREADS ABOUT IT, ALL RELATED ISSUES TO WELDING. TRIED TAKING IT TO DEALER TO ASK THEIR OPINION AND NOT HELPFUL. SHOWED HIM THE ISSUE AND HE DID INDEED REALIZE IT WAS ROCKING TOO MUCH AND PROBABLY NOT SAFE. INFORMED THAT IT WAS NOT UNDER WARRANTY AND TO REPLACE THE SEAT IT WOULD BE $700+. I FEEL THAT THERE ARE ENOUGH CASES AND QUESTIONS OUT THERE REGARDING THE DRIVER SEATS BECOMING LOOSE THAT MAZDA SHOULD REPLACE OR FIX THE WELD ISSUES AT THEIR EXPENSE. PLEASE LOOK CLOSER INTO THIS ISSUE BECAUSE I FEAR THAT IT WILL EVENTUALLY FAIL COMPLETELY AND CAUSE SERIOUS INJURY. *JS
DRIVER'S SIDE SEAT IS BECOMING LOOSE AND "CLUNKING" UPON CORNERING AND ACCELERATION. A POST TO A MAZDA GROUP, AS WELL AS GOOGLE SEARCHES RESULTS IN HUNDREDS OF COMPLAINS OF THE SEAT TRACKS BREAKING AND THIS BEING A "COMMON FIX". THIS SHOULD BE A HUGE SAFETY CONCERN THAT COULD CAUSE AN ACCIDENT, OR CAUSE FURTHER INJURY IN THE CASE OF AN ACCIDENT. *TR
SAT IN DRIVERS SEAT HEARD AND FELT A SNAP UNDER DRIVERS SEAT. BROKEN WELD ON SEAT BRACE. *TR
VEHICLE WITH CONTINUED ISSUE WITH MELTING DASHBOARD. REQUIRES VERY FREQUENT CLEANING OF THE INSIDE OF THE WINDSHIELD DUE TO THE SUBSTANCE BUILD-UP FROM THE DAILY HEATING IN THE FLORIDA CLIMATE. DURING THE DAY THE GLARE FROM THE SUN REFLECTS BACK ONTO THE WINDSHIELD CAUSING IT TO BE VERY DIFFICULT TO SEE. POLARIZED SUNGLASSES SEEMS TO MINIMIZE THE ISSUE. AT NIGHT, CERTAIN LIGHTING ALSO HIGHLIGHTS THE PROBLEMS ESPECIALLY WHEN SUNGLASSES ARE NOT APPROPRIATE. ON DECEMBER 8TH JUST AFTER SUNDOWN A VEHICLE BEGAN TO MAKE A LEFT TURN INTO MY RIGHT OF WAY AT AN INTERSECTION. THE STAR BURSTING FROM THE WINDSHIELD MADE IT IMPOSSIBLE TO SEE THAT THEY WERE TURNING IN FROM OF ME LEADING TO AN IMPACT. I BELIEVE THAT THIS DASHBOARD ISSUE PLAYED A VERY SIGNIFICANT ISSUE CONTRIBUTING TO THIS CRASH. THE FAULT WAS OBVIOUSLY THE OTHER DRIVER BUT DUE TO THE CIRCUMSTANCES I WAS UNABLE TO REACT QUICKLY. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A DEALER BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 59,537.
THE HOUSING UNIT OF ONE HEADLIGHT BEGAIN RETAINING MOISTURE AND CONDENSATION AND SUBSEQUENTLY BEGAN SHORTING OUT. THE DEALER INFORMED ME THAT THE COMPLETE HOUSING UNIT WILL NEED TO BE REPLACED, AND IT IS AT A SUBSTANTIAL COST. NOW, THE SECOND HEADLIGHT IS DOING THE SAME.
THE TOP OF THE DASHBOARD IS MELTING. THE SHEEN IS CREATING A DANGEROUS REFLECTING GLARE OFF THE WINDSHIELD.
DRIVER SEAT BROKE WHILE DRIVING, VERY LOOSE AFTER. UPON INSPECTION FOUND THAT A METAL BRACKET ON LEFT RAIL BROKE (SPLIT IN HALF). *TR
MY DASHBOARD (ON THE DRIVER SIDE AND MIDDLE) APPEARS TO BE MELTING (AND STICKY) AND IS CAUSING A SIGNIFICANT GLARE ON MY WINDSHIELD REDUCING MY VISIBILITY. I AM EXPERIENCING A LOT OF DIFFICULTY SEEING OUT OF MY WINDSHEILD SINCE IT IS ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO SEE OUT OF IT AT TIMES DUE TO THE GLARE. *TR
THE GLUE IS MELTS ON MY DASHBOARD CAUSING A GLARE ON THE WINDOW. IT MAKES IT DIFFICULT FOR ME TO SEE WHEN I'M DRIVING ON A SUNNY DAY. THE DASHBOARD IS VERY STICKY. *TR
TAKATA RECALL RELATED ACCIDENT HAPPENED 10/31/2014. THERE WAS NO AIRBAG RECALL AT THIS TIME. I WAS HIT ON THE DRIVERS SIDE CLASSIC T-BANE ACCIDENT. THE AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT CAUSED MORE DAMAGE THAN THE FORCE OF THE ACTUAL ACCIDENT. THE SIDE CURTAIN AIRBAG DEPLOYED. THE OTHER DRIVER WAS TRAVELING 20-30 MPH AT IMPACT. I WAS UNCONCIOUS FOR APPROX 30 SECONDS TO 1MIN AND I COULDN'T REMEMBER MY ADDRESS FOR THE FIRST 15-20 MINUTES AFTER THE ACCIDENT. POLICE WERE NOTIFIED AND SHOWED TO THE SCENE. I WAS UNABLE TO HEAR THE REST OF THE DAY FROM MY L EAR ( WHICH I WAS TOLD BY THE ER PROVIDER IS NORMAL FOR THE AIRBAG GOING OFF IS LIKE A CONCUSSION GRENADE) AND HAD MUFFLED HEARING THE NEXT 4-5 DAYS. I ALSO HAD A COLD WET FEELING DOWN THE L SIDE OF MY FACE ( LIKE THERE WAS BLOOD RUNNING DOWN MY FACE, BUT THERE WAS NO LACERATION.) THE ER REFERRED ME TO FOLLOW UP WITH A PCP. I SAW A PROVIDER WHEN I COULD AFTERWARD AS I COULDN'T OPEN MY MOUTH FOR 5-7 DAYS AFTER THE DAY OF THE ACCIDENT. I WAS REFERRED TO ENT TO FOLLOW UP CONCERNING POSSIBLE BROKEN JAW/FACIAL FRACTURES BREAKS. I STILL HAVE COMPLICATIONS WITH MY JAW AND FACIAL NUMBNESS ON THE L SIDE. I WAS TOLD THIS WILL NEVER GO AWAY AND IS UNABLE TO BE OPERATED ON.
THE DASHBOARD ON THIS VEHICLE IS MELTING. I PURCHASED IT USED IN APRIL AND NOTICED ABOUT 1 MONTH LATER THAT THE DASH WAS STICKY. OVER THE LAST FEW MONTHS, IT HAS GOTTEN PROGRESSIVELY WORSE ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE TO THE POINT THAT THE GLARE CAUSES VISIBILITY ISSUES FOR THE DRIVER. *TR
FRONT DASH HAS MELTED CAUSING A DANGEROUS GLARE ON THE WINDSHIELD. CONCERNED ABOUT TOXICITY INSIDE CAR DUE TO MELTING.
I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AND HEARD/FELT A CLUNK AND THE DRIVER SEAT TILTED BACK A FEW INCHES AND BECAME UNSTABLE. THE SEAT NOW MOVES FREELY UP AND DOWN AND IS NOT CURRENTLY SAFE TO DRIVE. THIS WAS A RESULT OF WELD ON THE SEAT BRACKET BREAKING AND THE SEAT LOSING ITS SUPPORT. I LOOKED ONLINE AND FOUND OVER 100 COMPLAINTS FOR THE SAME ISSUE. *TR
THE DASHBOARD IN THE CAR IS MELTING - TO THE POINT THAT THE GLARE IS AFFECTING THE VIEW. *TR

THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THERE WAS A STICKY SUBSTANCE ACCUMULATING AS THE FAILURE WAS BECAME PROGRESSIVELY WORSE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 63,000.
THE DASHBOARD ON MY 2010 MAZDA 3 HAS BEGAN MELTING. THE DASHBOARD HAS BECOME STICKY AND SHINY. SOMETIMES THE SHININESS IS SO REFLECTIVE THAT IT MAKES IT DIFFICULT FOR ME TO SEE WHEN I AM DRIVING ON A SUNNY DAY. THERE ARE CHUNKS OF THE DASH THAT COME OFF LIKE CHEWING GUM. THE DASH GETS ON EVERYTHING LIKE STICKY BLACK TAR. I CAN ONLY IMAGINE THAT THERE ARE DANGEROUS TOXINS BEING RELEASED INTO THE AIR TO BREATHE WHILE DRIVING KNOWING THAT THIS SYNTHETIC MATERIAL HAS NOW BROKEN DOWN AND BEGUN TO DETERIORATE. THE CAR IS ONLY FOUR YEARS OLD AND WELL CARED FOR. WHO IS TO BLAME FOR MY LOSS OF VALUE FROM A POORLY MADE PRODUCT. *TR

MY DASHBOARD IS MELTING WITH THE CONSISTENCY OF PEANUT BUTTER. I HAVE BROUGHT THE CAR TO MAZDA AND THEY WILL NOT STAND BEHIND THEIR CAR. *TR
MY 2010 MAZDA3'S DASH HAS MELTED! IT STARTED ABOUT A YEAR AGO AND IS CAUSING ME TO HAVE TO LOOK FOR ANOTHER VEHICLE IF I CAN'T GET THIS FIXED SOON. IT IS RIDICULOUS THAT A CAR MANUFACTURER CAN'T FIX THIS PROBLEM OR EVEN MAKE A CAR THAT DOESN'T MELT IN THE SUN. I WAS GOING TO GET ANOTHER MAZDA BUT NOW THAT THIS HAPPENED I DOUBT IT! THERE IS A HORRIBLE GLARE AND I CAN'T SEE WHEN THE SUN IS OUT! PLUS THERE IS LINT AND BUGS STUCK ALL IN IT LIKE A GLUE TRAP! AM I IN THE TWIGHTLIGHT ZONE? AND READING ALL OF THE MAZDA EXPERIENCES WITH OTHERS I AM DISCOURAGED.
MAZDA 3 2010 DASH IS MELTING. I HAVE BEEN NOTICING A GLARE OVER THE LAST FEW MONTHS FROM THE DASH TO THE WINDSHIELD THAT IN SUNNY CONDITIONS WAS MAKING IT DIFFICULT TO SEE THROUGH THE GLARE. I THOUGHT IT WAS POTENTIALLY SOME ADHESIVE LEAKING OUT OF THE SEAM OF THE DASH. IT WAS GETTING WORSE OVER TIME SO THIS WEEKEND I ATTEMPTED TO CLEAN OFF THE SUBSTANCE. I FOUND THAT IT WAS NOT A SUBSTANCE BUT THE DASH HAD BECOME SOFT AND STICKY. IT WAS NOT ABLE TO BE CLEANED OFF. I HAVE USED A SUNSHADE SINCE I OWNED THE CAR (OCT 2009). I HAVE LIVED IN SOUTH FLORIDA SINCE 1985 AND HAVE OWNED MULTIPLE CARS. I LEARNED THE HARD WAY THAT YOU MUST SHADE YOUR DASH TO PREVENT IT FROM BEING DAMAGED. HOWEVER, OVER THE LAST 30 YEARS, NO DASH HAS MELTED AND CAUSED A DANGEROUS GLARE THAT IS A SAFETY HAZARD. *TR
THE ABS & DSC (DYNAMIC STABILITY CONTROL) INSTRUMENT PANEL WARNING LIGHTS CAME ON. I HAVE HAD THE CAR TESTED AT A REPAIR SHOP AND TWO SEPARATE COMPUTER READOUTS SHOW CODES C0020, U0140 & U0140 (RELATED TO THE ABS HYDRAULIC UNIT). THE SHOP PROVIDED SERVICE BULLETIN NO. 04-002/13, LAST ISSUED: 7/17/2013 RELATED TO THIS PROBLEM. I UNDERSTAND I MAY NOT HAVE FUNCTIONAL ABS OR DSC BUT THE BRAKES, WHILE NOT HAVING ABS, STILL FUNCTION. I WAS ADVISED THIS MAY BE A VERY EXPENSIVE REPAIR BUT SINCE IT IS A SAFETY RELATED ISSUE, MAZDA MAY FIX THE PROBLEM AT NO CHARGE. I WOULD ARGUE THAT NOT HAVING ABS OR DSC IS MOST CERTAINLY A SAFETY ISSUE AND I SHOULD HAVE RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE. PLEASE ADVISE. *TR

THE DASHBOARD ON MY CAR STARTED MELTING ON THE DRIVER SIDE BUT NOW THE ENTIRE DASH IS MELTED AND SHINY. I CAN'T SEE TO DRIVE WHEN THE SUN IS OUT. THE REFECTION OBSCURES MY VISION AND IS VERY UNSAFE. I TALKED TO MAZDA DEALERSHIP AND THEY WILL NOT DO ANYTHING. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 MAZDA 3. WHILE DRIVING IN WARM WEATHER CONDITIONS, THE DASHBOARD CHANGED FROM MATTE TO GLOSSY. AS A RESULT, THE DASHBOARD MELTED AND CAUSED A GLARE THAT OBSTRUCTED THE VIEW OUT OF THE FRONT WINDSHIELD. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 50,000.
THE DASHBOARD HAS BECOME VERY STICKY AND SHINY. IT REFLECTS BACK INTO MY FACE WHEN DRIVING AND IS VERY VERY DANGEROUS. IT HAS GOTTEN WORSE IN THE LAST FEW MONTHS AND APPEARS TO CONTINUE TO BE SHINY...UPDATED 10/27/15 *BF
AS WITH MOST OF THE COMPLAINTS ON HERE REGARDING THE 2010 MAZDA3, MY DASHBOARD IS MELTING CAUSING IT TO BE HIGHLY REFLECTIVE AND EMIT A NOXIOUS ODOR. THIS PROBLEM REDUCES VISIBILITY AND IS A MAJOR SAFETY DEFECT. FURTHER, THE NOXIOUS ODOR COULD BE HARMFUL AND COULD VERY WELL BE A SAFETY ISSUE OUTSIDE OF THE VISIBILITY ISSUE. MAZDA NEEDS TO STEP UP TO THE PLATE AND ISSUE A RECALL LIKE TOYOTA HAS ALREADY DONE FOR THE SAME ISSUE. AS OF RIGHT NOW, IT APPEARS THAT TOYOTA STANDS BY THEIR PRODUCT AND MAZDA DOES NOT.
MOISTURE HAS ENTERED BOTH HEAD LAMPS CAUSING FAILURE OF BULBS AND HID CONTROL UNITS. COMPLETE LIGHTING FAILURE WHILE DRIVING. *TR
I LEFT MY CAR IN THE PARKING LOT AT WORK, AND WHEN I CAME BACK THE DASHBOARD HAD MELTED. I LIVE IN SAN ANTONIO TX, AND IT WASN'T A PARTICULARLY HOT DAY BUT IT MELTED. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP, AND THEY TOLD ME THEY COULD NOT FIX IT BECAUSE THE WARRANTY HAD EXPIRED. IT CREATES A VERY BAD GLARE ON THE WINDSHIELD WHICH IN MY OPINION, AND MANY OTHER CASES THAT I HAVE HEARD FROM IS A SAFETY HAZARD. *TR

WHEN I BOUGHT MY MAZDA 3,, IT SEEMED LIKE A GREAT BUY MONTHS LATER THE DASH STARTED MELTING AWAY, I HAVE CALLED MAZDA AND THEY HAVE NEVER RETURNED MY CALLS OR FIXED THE PROBLEM. THIS CAN BE DANGEROUS AS ITS MELTING AND IS WELL OVER 100 DEGREES IN THE CAR, IF ONE OF MY NEPHEWS OR DAUGHTER WAS TO TOUCH IT, THEY COULD VERY WELL BE BURNED SERIOUSLY AS IT IS VERY STICKY AND GOOPY.

THE DASHBOARD IS MELTING CAUSING A REFLECTION ON THE FRONT WINDOW WHICH IS A DRIVING HAZARD AS THE REFLECTION ON THE WINDOW CAUSES LIMITED VISIBILITY WHILE DRIVING. THE DASHBOARD UNDER THE FRONT WINDSHIELD HAS STARTED TO MELT. THE RESULT IS A STICKY GUNK THAT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO WIPE OFF OR CLEAN. THIS ISSUE CAUSES FOR A SAFETY CONCERN BECAUSE DRIVING DURING THE DAY RESULTS IN GLARES FROM THE DEFECTED DASHBOARD. CAR IS NO LONGER UNDER WARRANTY, AND DON'T HAVE THE FINANCIAL MEANS TO REPLACE. *TR

OVER TIME THE DASHBOARD HAS GONE FROM A MATT BLACK RUBBER MATERIAL TO A VERY SHINY, STICKY, MELTING SURFACE, WHICH IS QUITE VISIBLE WHEN LOOKING FORWARD THROUGH THE WINDSHIELD. IT ADVERSELY EFFECTS THE VISIBILITY, ESPECIALLY WHEN DRIVING INTO THE SUN.

LUCKILY IT HAS NOT CAUSED ANY INJURIES OR DEATH DUE TO THE FACT THAT I WAS AWARE OF THE PROBLEM AND MORE DILIGENT OF OTHERS ON THE ROAD. *TR

THE CONTACT STATED THAT DRIVING AT 60 MPH, THE DASH BOARD WAS MELTING WHICH CREATED A GLARE THAT BLOCKED THE VISIBILITY OF THE DRIVER WHEN LIGHT REFLECTED OFF OF THE DASH BOARD. THE FAILURE RECURRED MULTIPLE TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 85,000.
