TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 MAZDA 3. AT TIMES, WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER AND THE VEHICLE SEIZED AND HAD TO BE RESTARTED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC, BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THERE WAS AN UNKNOWN RECALL ASSOCIATED WITH THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 106,000.
I WAS SITTING DOWN IN THE CAR (DRIVER'S SEAT) AND ADJUSTED MY POSITION SLIGHTLY AND HEARD A LOUD POP AND THE SEATBACK MOVED BACKWARDS AWAY FROM THE STEERING WHEEL. THE SEAT ITSELF HAD NOTICEABLE FREEDOM TO MOVE UP AND DOWN AT THE LEFT CORNER. UPON EXAMINATION, THE BRACKET THAT IS WELDED TO THE SUPPORT BRACE ON THE FORWARD LEFT SIDE OF THE SEAT HAD FAILED AT THE WELD LOCATIONS (2). THIS BRACKET IS PINNED TO THE RAIL AND KEEPS THE SEAT BOTTOM ATTACHED TO THE TRACK. MAZDA MUST RECAL THESE SEATS. THEY DO HAVE A FIX TO REPAIR WITHOUT SEAT REPLACEMENT. MAZDA IS AWARE OF THE PROBLEM. BUT IS CHARGING FOR THE FIX. RECALL TIME.
DASHBOARD IS MELTING CREATING HORRIBLE GLARE IN LINE OF VISION OCCLUDING ONCOMING CARS. I HAVE PICTURES OF HOW TERRIBLE THE GLARE OF THE DASHBOARD REFLECTION IS CREATING WHILE DRIVING. I FEEL LIKE THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD AND SOMEONE WILL FAIL TO SEE AN ONCOMING CAR OR CHILD CROSSING THE STREET DUE TO THIS DEFECT. *TR
MY DASHBOARD IS MELTING. IT PRODUCES A TERRIBLE GLARE WHEN THE SUN IS OUT AND MAKES IT HARD TO SEE OUT OF THE WINDSHIELD.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 MAZDA 3. WHILE DRIVING 65 MPH, THE REAR PASSENGER SIDE TIRE EXPLODED. THE TIRE WAS REPLACED WITH A SPARE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE MECHANIC STATED THAT THE TPMS SENSOR WAS CORRODED AND THE NUT WAS FRACTURED. THE TIRE WAS REPLACED AND THE SENSOR WAS REPLACED WITH REGULAR VALVE STEMS. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE DASHBOARD WAS MELTING, WHICH CAUSED A GLARE FROM THE SUN. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES. DRIVER SIDE SEAT SEPARATED FROM FRONT SEAT SLIDE ADJUSTER. DRIVER SEAT "ROCKED" BACK AND NOW THE CAR IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS TO OPERATE. THE ENTIRE SEAT FLIPS BACKWARDS UPON ACCELERATION.
UPON ACCELERATING FROM A FULL STOP, THE LEFT-FRONT MOUNTING BRACKET OF THE DRIVER'S SEAT BROKE AT THE WELD POINT. THIS RESULTED IN INSTABILITY AND SIGNIFICANT ROCKING IN THE DRIVER'S SEAT WHEN ACCELERATING, BRAKING, AND TURNING. THE SEAT INSTABILITY COULD SIGNIFICANTLY IMPACT THE SAFETY OF THE DRIVER DURING AN ACCIDENT, RENDERING SAFETY MECHANISMS SUCH AS THE SEAT BELT AND AIRBAGS INEFFECTIVE. AS THE MOUNT BROKE UNDER NORMAL SEAT USAGE AND DRIVING CONDITIONS WITH NO PREVIOUS VEHICLE ACCIDENTS, I AM DOUBTFUL WHETHER THE MOUNTING BRACKET IS SUFFICIENT TO WITHSTAND THE IMPACT OF A CRASH.
DASHBOARD MELTING. GLARE ON WINSHIELD
MY DASHBOARD IS MELTING. WHEN I RUB MY FINGER ON IT BLACK RESIDUE EASILY COMES OFF. IF YOU PRESS DOWN WITH YOUR FINGER IT IS VERY EASY TO TAKE CHUNKS OFF WITH YOUR NAIL. THE GOOEY DASHBOARD IS SHINY WHICH EMITS A REFLECTION ON THE WINDSHIELD WHICH THEN IN TURN IMPAIRS MY VISION. THIS CAN BE VERY DANGEROUS AS ONE DRIVES. WHEN ONE GOES INTO THE CAR IT EMITS AN ODOR SIMILAR TO A PLASTIC FORK THAT HAS BEEN LEFT IN A DISHWASHER. INHALING TOXINS IS NOT SOMETHING I WANT AS PART OF MY DAILY LIFE.
MY DASHBOARD IS MELTING. MY CAR ISN'T EVEN FIVE YEARS OLD AND THE DASHBOARD HAS BASICALLY MELTED TO A POINT WHERE I HAVE TO REPLACE IT. THERE ARE ISSUES ALL OVER ABOUT THIS ON CERTAIN VEHICLES AND AS FAR AS I UNDERSTAND MAZDA WILL NOT PLACE A RECALL, BUT SAYS I HAVE TO PAY $1500 TO FIX IT BECAUSE THE GLARE OF THE MELTING REFLECTS OFF MY WINDSHIELD WHEN I DRIVE WHICH CAUSES A HAZARD.
THE DRIVERS SEAT MADE A POPPING SOUND AND NOW ROCKS BACK AND FORTH LIKE A ROCKING CHAIR. I LOOKED UNDERNEATH THE SEAT AND DISCOVERED THAT A WELD ON THE LEFT SIDE OF THE SEAT IS BROKEN. I WENT ON LINE AND DISCOVERED DOZENS OF COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS WELD BREAKING. IT EVEN APPEARS AS A PROBLEM ON A CAR REVIEW SITE. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE, AND EITHER A DESIGN FLAW OR POOR WORKMANSHIP. MAZDA SHOULD BE MADE TO FIX IT.
I PURCHASED MY 2010 MAZDA 3 IN AUGUST OF 2009. SINCE THAT TIME I HAVE NOTICED THE DASHBOARD FEELING STICKY. IT HAS NOW PROGRESSED TO ALMOST MELTING WHICH CAUSES A HORRIBLE GLARE ON THE WINDSHIELD WHICH IMPACTS MY ABILITY TO SEE EFFECTIVELY WHEN DRIVING ON SUNNY DAYS.
THE DASHBOARD IS CRACKING ON THE PASSENGER SIDE AND MELTING ON THE DRIVERS SIDE.
DESIGN FLAW OF HEADLIGHT HAS CAUSED CONDENSATION TO FORM IN HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY CAUSING XENON BULB TO SHORT CIRCUIT AND BLOW ON DRIVER'S SIDE HEADLIGHT.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 MAZDA 3. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING SYSTEM FAILED. THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE SENSOR WAS CORRODED AND THE TIRE VALVE WAS DISINTEGRATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE CONTACT WAS CONCERNED THAT THE FAILURE MIGHT RECUR AND REQUESTED RUBBER VALVES INSTEAD OF THE ALUMINUM VALVES; HOWEVER, THE DEALER DID NOT HONOR THE REQUEST. I CURRENTLY HAVE A 2010 MAZDA 3. I HAVE NOTICED FOR ABOUT THE PAST 2 YEARS THAT I AM GETTING THIS STICKY RESIDUE ON MY DASHBOARD AND NOW IT SEEMS TO BE GETTING WORSE AND WORSE!! IT DOES NOT LOOK GOOD. THIS SHOULD BE CONSIDERED A RECALL BECAUSE HAD I KNOW THE DASH WOULD START MELTING I WOULD HAVE NEVER PURCHASED MY VEHICLE IN THE FIRST PLACE BUT OF COURSE A DEALERSHIP WILL NOT TELL ITS CUSTOMERS THESE THINGS BECAUSE THEY JUST WANT TO MAKE THERE SELL. SUCH A RIP OFF!
THE DASHBOARD IS MELTING. IT IS WORSE ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE AND CONTINUES ACROSS THE WHOLE DASHBOARD. IT IS CAUSING A NOXIOUS FUMES AND A GLARE THAT AT TIMES GOES ACROSS THE LOWER PART OF THE WINDSHIELD. THE GLARE IS WORSE IN THE MORNING AS THE SUN RISES AND ON SUNNY DAYS. THE GLARE CHANGES AS YOU DRIVE AND MAKES THE ROAD APPEAR AS IF SOMETHING IS IN FRONT OF YOU ON THE ROAD. THE GLARE CAN BE FROM 5 INCHES DIRECTLY IN YOUR LINE OF SIGHT TO GOING ACROSS AT LEAST 2/3 OF YOUR VIEWING LINE THROUGH THE WINDSHIELD-CAUSING IT TO LOOK AS IF SOMEONE HAS THROWN SLICK OIL OR A SILVER SHEET OF METAL IN THE ROAD. HAVE SWERVED QUITE A FEW TIMES (DEPENDING ON THE DIRECTION I AM DRIVING), CAN'T SEE WHEN PEOPLE STEP OFF OF A CURB, AS THE GLARE COMES IN THE SOON AND CAN BE THERE FROM THE START OF YOUR DRIVE OR APPEAR OUT OF THE BLUE AS YOU CHANGE DIRECTIONS OR PARK. YOU CAN'T HELP TO RESPOND TO THE GLARE WHEN IT APPEARS-ESPECIALLY WHEN ON UNFAMILIAR ROADS. THE SMELL IS OF BURNING PLASTIC. I LIVE IN FLORIDA ANY DAY OVER 80 DEGREES IN THE SHADE OR WHEN PARKED DIRECTLY IN THE SUN CAUSES THE DASHBOARD TO EMIT A NOXIOUS SMELL, GET SOFT AND GOOEY. BUGS, INSECT DROPPINGS, DUST, AND LINT GET STUCK IN THE DASHBOARD AND CAUSE GLARE. I DRIVE AT LEAST 3 HOUR/DAY MINIMUM. THE SMELL CAUSES A HEADACHE/SORE THROAT/NAUSEA. I CAN'T PUT A VISOR TO BLOCK THE SUN-IT GETS STUCK IN THE MELTING DASH AND THE VISOR. WHEN YOU REMOVE THE VISOR IT SPLATTERS "GOO/PLASTIC" ONTO THE WINDSHIELD, WHICH CAN ONLY BE REMOVED WITH A RAZOR. RISKING GETTING THE HOT GOO ON YOUR HAND/ARM/FACE. YOU CANNOT WIPE AWAY ANY OF THE MELTING PART AS IT IS REALLY STICKY AND THE DASHBOARD ONLY CONTINUES TO MELT. I SELL REAL ESTATE AND NO LONGER TAKE CUSTOMERS INTO MY CAR NOT ALLOWING ME TO DO BUSINESS THE WAY MOST SALES PEOPLE DO, BECAUSE CLIENTS COMPLAIN OF THE SMELL/FEELING SICK.
WHILE PREPARING TO DRIVE MY 2010 MAZDA 3, I GOT IN TO ADJUST THE DRIVERS SEAT. AS I WAS ADJUSTING I HEARD A LOUD POP FROM THE FRONT LEFT SIDE OF THE DRIVERS SEAT. I GOT OUT OF THE CAR AND REALIZED THE SEAT HAD A LOT OF PLAY IN IT. I TOOK THE SEAT OUT TO FIND OUT WHAT THE PROBLEM WAS, I NOTICED THAT THE WELD POINT THAT SECURED THE SEAT TO THE CROSS BAR UNDER THE SEAT, SHEARED OFF CLEANLY, POINTING TO A BAD WELD. THIS IS DEFINITELY A SAFETY HAZARD AND I WOULD LIKE TO BE ABLE TO PREVENT ANY FUTURE ACCIDENTS OR WORSE. BASED ON THE WELD POINTS ON THE PASSENGER SEAT AND THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE DRIVERS SEAT, I CAN'T IMAGINE THAT THIS PART WOULD HAVE EVER FAILED, BUT IT HAS AND ON NUMEROUS MAZDA 3 MODELS. THERE ARE AT LEAST 25 COMPLAINTS ON THIS SITE ALONE. CAN SOMEONE DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS? $700 TO FIX IS OUTRAGEOUS AND THAT "ESTIMATE" WAS FROM 3 DIFFERENT LOCATIONS.
MY DASHBOARD IS MELTING AS IT GETS HOTTER HERE, I HAVE FOUND OTHERS WITH THIS ISSUE ON LINE AND THERE ARE CLASS ACTION SUITS BUT I REALLY JUST WANT MINE REPLACED BY MAZDA BEFORE I EVER BUY OUT NEXT ONE, IF THEY DO NOT FIX IT WE WILL BUY ANOTHER MAKERS VEHICLE FOR OUR NEXT CAR. IT'S REALLY STICKY AND NASTY AND WILL GLARE IN THE SUNSHINE .
THE INSIDE PANEL OF THE DRIVER, WITH HEAT GETS STICKY AND PREVENT THE DISPLAY BRIGHTER THAN THE SUN
THE DASHBOARD ON MY 2010 MAZDA 3 IS MELTING. IT APPEARS TO BE VERY STICKY AND REFLECTIVE. IT HAPPENED ABOUT A WEEK AGO AND IS SPREADING QUICKLY. I HAVE NOT SPILLED ANYTHING ON IT, I HAVE NOT USED ANY HARSH CHEMICALS TO CLEAN THE DASH, AND I KEEP THE CAR IN GENERAL AS CLEAN AS I CAN. WHEN I AM DRIVING INTO THE SUN THERE IS A GLARE/REFLECTION ON THE WINDSHIELD THAT I HAVE A HARD TIME SEEING THROUGH. I AM UNABLE TO CLEAN IT BECAUSE IT IS SO STICKY. IF THE AFFECTED AREA KEEPS SPREADING, THEN THE GLARE ON WINDSHIELD WILL BECOME LARGER AND LARGER. I DO NOT WANT THE GLARE TO BECOME SO BIG I CAN'T SEE CARS SLOWING DOWN IN FRONT OF ME OR ANYTHING ELSE OF THAT NATURE. THE DEALERSHIPS WILL NOT DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT. IN MY MIND THIS IS A DEFECTIVE PART AND SHOULD BE REPLACED.
I PURCHASED A 2010 MAZDA 3 IN 2009. THIS YEAR (2015), AROUND APRIL/MAY, BEFORE THE SUMMER HEAT EVEN GOT BAD, I NOTICED THE DASHBOARD WAS STICKY. SINCE THEN, IT HAS PRETTY MUCH COMPLETELY MELTED. THE DASHBOARD IS EXTREMELY STICKY AND SOFT WHEN YOU TOUCH IT, ALMOST HAS A PUTTY CONSISTENCY, BUT THAT IS NOT THE MAIN ISSUE. THE SAFETY ISSUE IS MY MAIN CONCERN. THERE IS A HORRIBLE GLARE THE SHINE FROM THE DASHBOARD CREATES ON THE FRONT WINDSHIELD. IT IS ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO SEE OUT OF THE FRONT WINDSHIELD WHEN THE SUN IS OUT BECAUSE OF THIS GLARE. A DASHBOARD COVER IS NOT AN OPTION BECAUSE OF HOW STICKY THE DASHBOARD IS; A COVER WILL DEFINITELY GET STUCK TO THE DASH AND DESTROY IT. I HAVE DONE SOME RESEARCH ONLINE AND THERE ARE HUNDREDS OF CLAIMS FOR MELTING DASHBOARDS FOR MODELS BETWEEN 2009 AND 2011. THIS IS SUCH A SERIOUS SAFETY HAZARD, IT IS DIFFICULT TO UNDERSTAND WHY THE MANUFACTURER HAS NOT BEEN FORCED TO RECALL THESE FAULTY PARTS.
THE DASHBOARD STARTED BECOMING STICKY IN EARLY 2015 AND BECAME WORSE AS THE WEATHER BECAME HOTTER. THE AFFECTED AREA IS NOW AROUND 36 INCHES BY 8 INCHES WITH THE WORST PART BEING AROUND 20 INCHES BY 4 INCHES. THE AFFECTED AREA IS STICKY AND VERY SHINY. THIS SHINE REFLECTS ONTO THE WIND SHIELD, MAKING IT VERY HARD TO SEE ON SUNNY DAYS.
The dashboard in my 2010 Mazda 3 has melted significantly throughout the years. It has become hazardous and tough to operate this vehicle. The dashboard is glossy, sticky, and believe a slight odor. I tried to slow its deterioration by using a sunshade when parked. It not only did not help, the dashboard just ruined each shade with a sticky, tar-like, black residue. No dealership has offered to help me without trying to charge me the total price of replacement, plus their labor costs. I regularly check to see if there has been a new recall, but there has not. I can not sell this car without feeling guilty for endangering others. I am unlikely to return to Mazda as a paying customer since they shy away from treating my family like one. I hope this issue is fixed adequately for me and anyone else suffering from this issue.

DASHBOARD MELTED COMPLETELY, I AM NOT ABLE TO OPERATE THE VEHICLE FROM THE HOURS OF 10AM - 4:30PM BECAUSE IT'S IMPOSSIBLE TO SEE THE ROAD, THE WINDSHIELD LOOKS COMPLETELY WHITE FROM THE GLARE IN THE DASHBOARD, CONTACTED DEALERSHIP WHERE I BOUGHT THE CAR SEVERAL TIMES AND THEY DON'T WANT TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR IT. THIS IS AN ACCIDENT WAITING TO HAPPEN AND MAZDA DOESN'T DO ANYTHING!!!!! IMPOSSIBLE TO OPERATE VEHICLE AT REGULAR HOURS!!
I HAVE A 2010 MAZDA3 I-SPORT MODEL. AFTER COMING BACK FROM A TWO WEEK VACATION, I FOUND MY DASHBOARD TO BECOME STICKY AND, WHILE UNDER DIRECT SUNLIGHT, WILL EMIT A GLARE ONTO THE WINDSHIELD THAT GREATLY REDUCES VISIBILITY. IT APPEARS AS IF IT IS MELTING. THE PROBLEM IS MOST APPARENT CLOSE TO THE WINDSHIELD, BUT HAS SPREAD A GREAT DEAL ACROSS THE DASHBOARD ON THE DRIVER SIDE. IT CANNOT BE CLEANED. *TR
MELTING DASHBOARD AND WINDSHIELD GLARE
I WAS DRIVING HOME IN A CITY STREET, AT A SPEED OF ABOUT 30MPH. SUDDENLY, WHILE ON A CURVE, I LOST POWER STEERING! THE STEERING WHEEL BECAME VERY RIGID AND THE CAR ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO CONTROL. I WAS ABLE TO AVOID A COLLISION BY SHEER ARM STRENGTH. I NEVER REGAINED POWER STEERING. *TR
THE DASHBOARD IS DETERIORATING AND IS TURNING SOFT AND GOOEY. IT CAN EASILY BE GOUGED BY A FINGERNAIL.
DASHBOARD MELTING CAUSING INTENSE GLARE ON WINDSHIELD MAKING IT HARD TO SEE DRIVERS IN FRONT OF ME AND TRAFFIC LIGHTS AS WELL. *TR
DRIVERS SEAT BROKE FROM FRAME RAILS. FIRST THE PLASTIC PUSH PIN SCEWS THAT ATTACHES POWER SEAT TO HEIGHT ADJUSTMENT RAILS SNAPPED, COLLAPSING ONE SIDE OF DRIVERS SEAT. THEN THE FRAME RAIL ON THAT SIDE SNAPPED INTO PIECES. WHEN TRAFFIC LIGHT TURNED GREEN, I STARTED FORWARD AND SEAT COLLAPSED ON MY LEFT SIDE, THEN I HEARD A POP AND SEAT FLIPPED BACK, ALMOST CAUSING ME TO CRASH. WHEN I TOOK CAR TO MAZDA SERVICE, THE TECHS SHOWED ME DOZENS OF MAZDA CARS IN SERVICE BAYS WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. I WAS TOLD THIS GOES BACK TO 2002. MAZDA JAPAN STATES: WE ACKNOWLEDGE THE PROBLEM, BUT MAZDA SEATS ARE NOT MADE FOR LARGE AMERICAN BODIES, BUT FOR THE AVERAGE SMALLER, LIGHTER AND DELICATE JAPANESE PERSON. IN FEB,2017, MAZDA ISSUED A RECALL ON SOME CARS FOR THE SEAT FRAME COLLAPSING, BUT MY CAR AND MOST OTHER MAZDA CARS ARE NOT INCLUDED IN THIS RECALL. PLEASE CHECK OUT ANY MAZDA SERVICE DEPT. AND ASK FOR RECORDS OF SNAPPED FRONT SEAT FRAMES AND SEAT FRAME SCREWS POPPING OUT , COLLAPSING THE SEATS. PLEASE REQUIRE MAZDA WELD IN NEW FRAME RAILS AND INSTALL CORRECT NUMBER OF SEAT ATTACHMENT SCREWS, AND OR REPLACE SEATS ASSEMBLIES WITH ONES THAT DON'T BREAK FROM NORMAL USAGE. WITHOUT A RECALL MAZDA CHARGES OVER $1100 TO REPLACE POWER SEAT FRAME, WITH NO GUARANTEE THE REPLACEMENT FRAME WONT BREAK WHEN YOU SEAT IN CAR THE FIRST TIME BECAUSE THAT'S HOW MAZDA BUILDS THE SEAT FRAMES! THAT'S TRAGIC.

THE TIRE PRESSURE LIGHT WAS ILLUMINATED; HOWEVER, IT FUNCTIONED AS DESIGNED AND WAS NOT RELATED TO THE FAILURE. IN ADDITION, WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE SUN ROOF FAILED TO CLOSE, THE VEHICLE VIBRATED AND VEERED TO THE RIGHT NUMEROUS TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO CONFIRMED THAT THE INTERNAL SOFTWARE MALFUNCTIONED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. WHEN PULLING INTO DESTINATION HOTEL PARKING SPOT AND WITH RIGHT FOOT ON BRAKE, ENGINE REVVED DRAMATICALLY. APPLIED BOTH FEET TO BREAK. AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION. CHANGED GEARS TO N, R & P, BUT ENGINE CONTINUED TO REV. TURNED ENGINE OFF. SMOKE GENERATED FROM ENGINE ENTERED CABIN. DID NOT USE CAR UNTIL NEXT DAY. RETURNING HOME NEXT DAY USED CRUISE CONTROL AND EXITED FREEWAY FOR BREAK. SLOWING DOWN FOR STOP LIGHT WITH CAR AHEAD AND FOOT ON BRAKE WHEN ENGINE REVVED AGAIN AS BEFORE. SHIFTED CAR INTO NEUTRAL AND TURNED OFF CAR THEN BACK ON. DROVE CAR TO DEALER ON WAY HOME WITHOUT ANOTHER INCIDENT. THIS DEALER IS WHERE WE PURCHASED THE CARE AND ALL WORK EXCEPT TIRES/ALIGNMENT AND BATTERY OCCURRED. THEY EXAMINED AND INSPECTED THE CAR AND KEPT IT FOR THE NEXT 10 DAYS LOGGING 200 MILES WITHOUT A RECURRENCE OF THE UNINTENDED ACCELERATION. *TR
MY DASHBOARD IS GETTING STICKY AND ITS STARTING TO, WHAT THEY CALL, "MELTING". AS THE SUN SHINES ON THIS STICKY AREA, THE GLARE IS GETTING WORSE BY THE DAY. I SAW ONLINE THAT THERE IS A CLASS ACTION SUIT AGAINST TOYOTA AND MAZDA FOR THIS SAME EXACT REASON. *TR
THERE ARE (3) EXISTING NHTSA REPORTS ON THIS THAT I AM AWARE OF: 10037949. 10037655 & 10052155. PURCHASED A 2010 MAZDA 3 OFF A DEALERS LOT 1.5 WEEKS AGO. THE FOLLOWING DAY WHILE DRIVING THE LEFT HEAD LIGHT WAS OUT. THERE WAS CONDENSATE IN THE LENS. THE CAR HAS HID LIGHTS. TO ACCESS THE BULB THE CAR BUMPER ETC. HAD TO BE REMOVED. LOCAL SHOP REPLACED BOTH BULBS AND BALLAST. COST $1,200 +. THREE DAYS LATER THE SAME BULB WENT OUT. SHOP IS NOW REPLACING THE LENS AND BALLAST (AGAIN). $1,898. AFTER CHECKING ON THE INTERNET WE FOUND THAT IT A COMMON PROBLEM FOR THIS CAR'S HEADLIGHT LENS TO LEAK. SOME PEOPLE REPORTED MULTIPLE FAILURES WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. MAZDA HAS 3 SERVICE BULLETINS ON THIS PROBLEM FOR THIS YEAR CAR. 09-003-13, 09-005-11, & 09-057-10. *TR
THE DASHBOARD OF OUR 2010 MAZDA 3 IS MELTING. *JS
THE DASH HAS BECOME A HIGHLY REFLECTIVE MESS. THE DASH SEEMS TO BE MELTING AS IT IS STICKY TO THE TOUCH AND HAS DEVELOPED A HIGH SHINE WHICH IS HIGHLY REFLECTIVE IN THE WINDSHIELD. ANYTHING AFFECTING THE ABILITY TO SEE OUT THE WINDSHIELD HAS TO BE A SAFETY ISSUE. THIS SEEMS TO BE A KNOWN ISSUE OF THE MANUFACTURER, DEALERS, AND PEOPLE FILING CLASS ACTION LAW SUITS BUT NO MOVEMENT FROM NHTSA. *TR
THE TOP OF THE DASHBOARD IS MELTING AND CONTINUES TO GROW IN SIZE. IT IS TURNING INTO A TAR-LIKE SUBSTANCE THAT COMES OFF TO THE TOUCH AND IS QUITE STICKY. THE GLARE THAT IT PRODUCES IS BECOMING A SAFETY CONCERN. JUST TODAY I ALMOST REAR-ENDED A VEHICLE THAT I COULD NOT SEE WHEN IT STOPPED. *TR
I WAS SITTING DOWN IN THE CAR (DRIVER'S SEAT) AND ADJUSTED MY POSITION SLIGHTLY AND HEARD A LOUD POP AND THE SEATBACK MOVED BACKWARDS AWAY FROM THE STEERING WHEEL. THE SEAT ITSELF HAD NOTICEABLE FREEDOM TO MOVE UP AND DOWN AT THE LEFT CORNER. UPON EXAMINATION, THE BRACKET THAT IS WELDED TO THE SUPPORT BRACE ON THE FORWARD LEFT SIDE OF THE SEAT HAD FAILED AT THE WELD LOCATIONS (2). THIS BRACKET IS PINNED TO THE RAIL AND KEEPS THE SEAT BOTTOM ATTACHED TO THE TRACK. THIS IS DEFINITELY A SAFETY HAZARD AND I WONDER WHAT UNNECESSARY INJURIES I OR MY WIFE MAY HAVE SUFFERED HAD THIS PART FAILED DURING AN ACCIDENT. I CAN'T IMAGINE THAT THIS PART WOULD EVER BE EXPECTED TO FAIL. *TR
THE VALVE STEMS ON THE WHEELS ARE CORRODING AND ONE COMPLETELY FELL OFF WHILE ATTEMPTING TO TAKE A CAP OFF OF IT TO ADD AIR. THESE COULD POTENTIALLY RESULT IN RAPID AIR LOSS FROM THE TIRES AND AN ACCIDENT. I WAS LUCKY THAT IT HAPPENED WHEN I WASN'T DRIVING. *TR

ABS FAILURE, LIGHT CAME ON IN EARLY 2015. PROBLEMS W/GARDEN CITY MAZDA DEALER & SERVICE W/SHOTTY BUSINESS PRACTICES, SO NEVER WENT BACK TO ANY MAZDA DEALER FOR SERVICE. DID ALL THE REQUIRED SERVICE SINCE PURCHASED NEW IN 2010 UNTIL NOW. HAVE BEEN IN CONTACT W/MAZDA JAPAN, USA, & STEVENSON MAZDA IN JACKSONVILLE, NC WHERE MY DAUGHTER DRIVES SAID MAZDA EVERYDAY W/HER SONS, 4 MONTHS & 2.5 YEARS OLD. THE ABS SYSTEM LIGHT INDICATES A FAULTY SYSTEM & THIS VEHICLE HAS BEEN DETERMINED TO HAVE THE FAULTY PART. MAZDA JAPAN/USA SAID THEY WOULD PAY 50% OF PART COST & STEVENSON MAZDA IN JACKSONVILLE, NC WOULD PAY 50% TOTAL COST=$600 OF $1200. FAMILY TIRE & AUTO SERVICE, WHO ALERTED US OF PROBLEM ON 12/28/2015 (OUTSIDE OF WARRANTY) WOULD REPAIR FOR $800. SINCE THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD , DISABLES ABS SYSTEM, IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN A RECALL NOT A TBS & ALL CONSUMERS WOULD HAVE BEEN NOTIFIED!!! AFTER 3 YEARS OF NORMAL COMMUTER USE, THE DASHBOARD IN FRONT OF THE DRIVER SEAT HAS BECOME EXCESSIVELY SHINY. IT IS THE TOP HUMP OF THE DASHBOARD CLOSEST TO THE WINDSHIELD. THE SHINE REFLECTS A GLARE ONTO THE WINDSHIELD DIRECTLY IN THE DRIVER'S FIELD OF VISION. THE GLARE IS SOMETIMES SO BAD THAT IT HINDERS THE ABILITY TO SEE OTHER VEHICLES DIRECTLY IN FRONT OF THE CAR. THE SHINE IS UNABLE TO BE WIPED CLEAN AND LEAVES A STICKY BLACK RESIDUE WHEN TOUCHED. IT APPEARS THAT THE DASHBOARD UPHOLSTERY MATERIAL AND/OR ADHESIVE IS DEFECTIVE. *TR

THE DASH BOARD IS MELTING WHICH IS CAUSING A REFLECTION INTO THE WINDSHIELD MAKING IT DIFFICULT TO SEE WHILE DRIVING.
MELTING DASHBOARD!!!! MY MAZDA'S DASHBOARD HAS BEEN INSANELY STICKY AND MELTING OVER THE LAST 8 MONTHS. PIECES OF MY DASHBOARD HAVE BEEN RUINED SIMPLY BY TOUCHING THE STICKY RESIDUE OR BY MY SUN VISOR GETTING STUCK TO IT. WHEN I TAKE MY CAR TO THE CAR WASH, THEY CAN'T WIPE THE DASH BECAUSE THE TOWEL GETS STUCK TO THE STICKY RESIDUE. THE GLARE IS SO BAD WHEN THE SUN IS DIRECTLY HITTING MY CAR THAT I HAVE TO PUT MY HEAD TO THE COMPLETE LEFT OR RIGHT OF MY CAR WHILE DRIVING IN ORDER TO SEE. I FEAR THAT I WILL GET IN AN ACCIDENT BECAUSE OF HOW DANGEROUS THE GLARE IS! I FEEL LIKE I CAN'T DRIVE MY CAR DURING THE DAY ANYMORE. I REFUSE TO GET A DASH BOARD COVER BECAUSE THAT WILL TOO ALSO COMPLETELY STICK TO MY REGULAR DASH AND I WILL NEVER BE ABLE TO TAKE IT OFF BECAUSE IT'LL COMPLETELY RUIN THE CAR AND DEVALUE IT IF I EVER TRY TO SELL IT IN THE NEAR FUTURE. SO DISAPPOINTED IN MAZDA, THIS IS MY SECOND MAZDA AND DEFINITELY MY LAST. CHEAP. THIS NEEDS TO BE FIXED, IT IS A DANGEROUS HAZARD.
