I got letter after letter and I called explained my situation and someone was going to call me back Everytime with information for my Mazda 6 2007 to be towed to get repairs and a loaner car till return of my mazda that is under a do not drive . No one ever calls me back..please I don't want metal schrapnal in my face ory passenger my husband is heart patient we need my car can't be without here in sallisaw ok. Now what do we do .
10/31/2023 my daughter was in a car accident driving this vehicle identified by the VIN above. The car was totaled. Airbags did not deploy.
Takata recall. The contact's wife owns a 2007 Mazda Mazda6. The vehicle owner received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 17V474000 (Air Bags) however, the part to do the recall repair was unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. Parts distribution disconnect.
I'M STUCK IN MY VEHICLE BECAUSE NO AMOUNT OF PRESSURE WILL RELEASE THE SWITCH LEVER. LUCKILY THIS WASN'T A TRAFFIC STOP BECAUSE THIS WOULD HAVE MADE THINGS COMPLICATED IF NOT DEADLY, NOT EVEN CONSIDERING THE HIGH POSSIBILITY THAT I WOULD NEED TO EXIT THE CAR IMMEDIATELY SHOULD I BE IN A ACCIDENT.
TAKATA RECALL. FOR THE PAST YEAR THE AIRBAG LIGHT HAS BEEN COMING ON. IT SEEMS TO OCCUR AT WARMER TEMPERATURES AND GOES AWAY AND COLDER TEMPERATURES. THE CODE THAT COMES BACK IS B2234 AND THIS IS ASSOCIATED WITH THE DRIVER'S AIRBAG. I BELIEVE THIS HAS OCCURRED BECAUSE OF THE REPLACEMENT OF THE DRIVER'S SIDE AIRBAG REPLACEMENT THAT WAS DONE ON MY VEHICLE DUE TO THE TAKATA RECALL.

THE CONTACT WAS UNABLE TO DETERMINE WHEN THE VEHICLE WOULD BE REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND COULD NOT PROVIDE AN ESTIMATED DATE FOR WHEN THE VEHICLE WOULD RECEIVE THE RECALL REPAIR. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH IN SEVERE WEATHER, THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY TURNED SIDEWAYS AND CRASHED INTO THE CEMENT BARRIER IN THE CENTER OF THE ROAD. THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED AND THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 135,000. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.
TAKATA RECALL. TOOK MY MAZDA TO A CERTIFIED MAZDA DEALERSHIP TO REPLACE THE DEFECTED AIR BAGS BUT THE AIRBAG LIGHT STILL STAYS ON MAKING ME CONCERNED THAT THE PROBLEM WITH MY AIRBAGS HAS NOT BEEN FIXED. I HAVE A 4 MONTH OLD THAT RIDES IN THIS VEHICLE AND I AM CONCERNED FOR HER SAFETY.
TAKATA RECALL - MY COMPLAINT IS WITH THE LOCAL MAZDA DEALER. I RECEIVED THE RECALL NOTICE AND FOLLOWED THE INSTRUCTIONS TO SET UP AN APPOINTMENT. WHEN I ARRIVED FOR THE APPOINTMENT I WAS TOLD THAT THE WORK COULD NOT BE PERFORMED BECAUSE THE PARTS NECESSARY WERE NOT ORDERED. IN MY OPINION THE DEALERSHIP HANDLED THIS APPOINTMENT AND THE FOLLOW UP POORLY. THE REPAIR HAS NOT YET BEEN ACCOMPLISHED DUE TO MY BUSY SCHEDULE AND THE LACK OF COMMUNICATION ON BEHALF OF THE DEALERSHIP. I AM NOT SURE WHAT IS CONSIDERED A "REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME" BUT IN MY OPINION THIS SHOULD HAVE BEEN TAKEN CARE OF WEEKS AGO. AS OF TODAY I HAVE AN APPOINTMENT SCHEDULED FOR WEDNESDAY FEBRUARY 22ND.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE AIR BAG WARNING INDICATOR HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH THE RECALL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS INVALID. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 227,000.

TAKATA RECALL THIS RECALL HAS BEEN IN EFFECT SINCE JUNE 2015 AND IS STILL UNRESOLVED. I RECEIVE NOTIFICATIONS OF THE RECALL OFTEN BUT THE PARTS ARE STILL UNAVAILABLE. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE. I DO NOT THINK THAT THIS IS BEING HANDLED IN A TIMELY MANNER.

TAKATA RECALL, OVER A YEAR AGO I DID HAVE A AIRBAG RECALL FOR MY INFLATOR , WHICH WAS FOR MY MAZDA 6 2007, I DID HAVE ONE OF THEM REPLACED, NOT SURE IF IT WAS THE PASSENGER SIDE OR THE DRIVER SIDE NOW, BUT ONLY ONE WAS REPLACED AT THE TIME BECAUSE THAT WAS ALL THAT WAS RECALLED AT THAT TIME, THE DEALER TOLD ME I WOULD HAVE TO WAIT FOR THE OTHER SIDE TO BE RECALL, SO WHAT IF I HAD A ACCIDENT IN THE MEANTIME? THE OTHER AIRBAG WOULDN'T WORK, BECAUSE IT HADN'T BEEN REPLACED? NOT VERY GOOD! THE DEALER DIDN'T SEEM TO THRILLED WITH THE WHOLE INFLATOR RECALL THING AND DIDN'T HAVE VERY GOOD THINGS TO SAY ABOUT IT, WHICH MADE ME WORRY ABOUT IF THE DARN THING WOULD WORK AT ALL! WELL NOT TOO LONG AFTER I GOT THE SECOND RECALL NOTE FOR THE OTHER SIDE INFLATOR TO BE FIXED I WAS IN A CAR ACCIDENT! GREAT! WELL, I WAS HIT FROM BEHIND AT 70MPH, THE CAR WAS HIT ON THE RIGHT SIDE AND I WAS THROWN INTO A SPIN, NOW, I WAS NOT HIT IN THE FRONT, NOR DID I ACTUALLY HIT DEAD ON IN THE FRONT OF ANYTHING! BUT MY WINDSHIELD WAS CRACKED. MY RIGHT SIDE AIRBAG DID DEPLOY AND SAVE ME FROM A MASSIVE HEAD INJURY! THE CAR DID AS IT WAS DESIGNED TO DO IN A BACKEND COLLISION, IT FOLDED UP, THE BACK END TOOK THE BLUNT OF THE 70MPH FORCE, AND SAVED ME! I WALKED OUT OF THE CAR! BUT THE CAR WAS TOTALED! MY ONLY QUESTION AND IT WAS A QUESTION OF A FEW OTHER PEOPLE... WAS WHY DID NOT THE FRONT END AIR BAD DEPLOY? WAS IT NOT SUPPOSED TO? BECAUSE IT HAD NOT BEEN IT HIT HARD ENOUGH? OR BECAUSE IT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED? NOT SURE? ALL I CAN SAY IS THAT THANK GOODNESS IN A WAY I GOT HIT FROM BEHIND AND NOT IN THE FRONT, BECAUSE I AM NOT SO SURE IF I COULD OF DEPENDED ON THE FRONT AIRBAGS WORKING CORRECTLY! SO MY ACCIDENT MAY HAVE HAD A TOTALLY DIFFERENT OUTCOME!

THE DRIVER SUSTAINED HEAD, BACK, NECK, AND ARM INJURIES, WHICH REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED AND NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 120,000.

AND, THEY SUGGEST NO ONE RIDE OR SIT IN THE PASSENGER SEAT WHILE DRIVING. ARE YOU SERIOUS? I APPRECIATE THE LATE SAFETY NOTICE AND THEIR LIABILITY COVERAGE BY BURYING THAT STATEMENT ON THE BACK PAGE OF A BUSINESS LETTER, HOWEVER, WHAT ABOUT OFFERING US CONSUMERS OPTIONS? 1. DISABLE THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG AT OUR CHOICE AND THEIR EXPENSE UNTIL A REPLACEMENT PART CAN BE INSTALLED AT THEIR EXPENSE? 2. SUBSIDIZING THE COST OF A SAFE RENTAL CAR UNTIL OURS IS SAFE TO DRIVE? 3. PAYING US FULL VALUE ON OUR USED VEHICLE IN EXCHANGE FOR THE SALE OF ANOTHER VEHICLE THAT IS SAFE TO DRIVE. I HAVE CALLED THE DEALER SHIP AND NONE OF THESE OR ANY OPTIONS ARE AVAILABLE TO THE CONSUMER. THE CAR IS RENDERED USELESS AND OF ZERO VALUE AT THE MOMENT. MOREOVER, IF ANYONE SITS IN THE PASSENGER SEAT AND WE GET IN A REAL ACCIDENT, THE RUN THE RISK OF MORE INJURY, PAIN, AND SUFFERING DUE TO THE AIRBAG THAN THE ACCIDENT. IF YOU LOOK AT THE NUMBERS, I BELIEVE WEARING YOUR SEATBELT PROPERLY PROVIDES THE HIGHEST PERCENTAGE OF SAFETY IN AN IMPACT. IT SOUNDS TO ME LIKE THIS AIRBAG IS A DEFECTIVE PART THAT CAN CAUSE HURT EITHER INSIDE OR OUTSIDE OF AN ACCIDENT. IT NEEDS TO BE REMOVED AND DISABLED FROM THE VEHICLE RIGHT AWAY. AT THE VERY LEAST, THIS NOTICE SHOULD SAY, BRING IT IN AND WE'LL REMOVE IT OR DISABLE IT ASAP.
