Hello i am a 2nd owner of a Mazda 2007 6. And the man i brought car from said it always did it to him as well.i would explain it as in stopping or speeding up the dashboard lights flicker or goes off, the engine gets real loud and car jerks and shakes and loses power check engine light comes on and AT.and Cars dyes in reverse a few times on me. Auto lots said that it is common and known for electrical problems and engine issues and pieces called camshafts position actuator and transmission range sensor and gears. And the man owned before me has replaced them multiple times. Its dangerous to be driving specially on interstate and car stalls or lose so much power that i only get about 20 miles an hour
I HAVE AN AUTOMATIC 07 MAZDA 6 S GRAND TOURING THAT IS HAVING A PROBLEM WITH THE TRANSMISSION JERKING. THE CAR ONLY HAS 100K MILES ON IT. THE JERK NORMALLY HAPPENS BETWEEN GEARS 4-6.
ENGINE CRADLE SUBFRAME RUSTING/RUSTED OUT PREMATURELY. HOLDS ENGINE IN PLACE. STATIONARY.
THE CAR HAS VERY SERIOUS ISSUES WITH THE TRANSMISSION. WHEN DRIVING IT JERKS VIOLENTLY WHEN SWITCHING GEARS FROM 2ND TO 3RD GEAR AND SOME TIMES TO THE 4TH GEAR. THE DASHBOARD SOME TIMES SHOWS THE CAR HAS SWITCHED TO THE 3RD GEAR WHILE THE CAR IS STILL REVVING ABNORMALLY HIGH IN 2ND GEAR. THE TRANSMISSION HAS SOME VERY SERIOUS AND POTENTIALLY DEADLY ISSUES. THIS ISSUES TEND TO OCCUR FREQUENTLY WHEN ACCELERATING FROM A STOP. (THE CAR'S ACCELERATION IS VERY WEAK, I DON'T KNOW IF THIS IS RELATED TO THE ISSUE OR NOT )
FOR IT HAVING SO FEW MILES 60K AND HAVING BEEN SERVICED WITH SYNTHETIC TRANSMISSION OIL, THIS CAR SHIFT HARD FROM FIRST AND SECOND AT REGULAR TEMPERATURE. ON COLD STARTS CAR SHIFT HARDER AND AT TIMES TURNS OFF OR LOSSES POWER.
I HAVE A MANUAL TRANSMISSION AND THERE IS A CLUNK NOISE FROM 2ND TO 3RD GEAR AT HIGH SPEEDS ALL THE TIME AND SEEMS TO BE GETTING WORSE. THE TRANSMISSION IN MY 2007 MAZDA 6I VE STARTED SHIFTING HARD AND SLIPPING. THE TRANSMISSION, AFTER CHANGING TRANSMISSION FLUID BY DEALERSHIP, HAS NOW GOTTEN WORSE. 2ND AND 4TH GEAR DO NOT WORK. 2ND GEAR IS SKIPPED AND THE TRANSMISSION IS SLIPPED INTO 3RD, AND GOING INTO 4TH, THE TRANSMISSION FAILS TO SHIFT INTO 5TH, AS 4TH GEAR DOESN'T DO ANYTHING BUT REV CONSTANTLY, LIKE IT IS IN NEUTRAL. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 MAZDA SPEED6. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FIREWALL WAS STARTING TO SEPARATE AND THE CLUTCH BECAME DIFFICULT TO ENGAGE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER. THE TECHNICIAN WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 90,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 91,000. UPDATED 9/12/14*CN THE CONSUMER STATED THE MANUFATURER DENIED ASSISTANCE DUE TO THE VEHICLE BEING OUT OF WARRANTY. UPDATED 1/26/15 *JS
LOUD CLUNK IN THE DRIVE TRAIN. TOOK IT IN AND FOUND THE TRANSFER CASE HAD LEAKED ENOUGH OIL FOR LARGE PARTS TO BE DISLODGED. LOOKED AND FOUND THERE WAS A TSB ON THE ISSUE BUT WAS NEVER NOTIFIED. IN SEARCHING THE INTERNET, I HAVE FOUND NUMEROUS PEOPLE WHO HAVE EXPERIENCED THE SAME ISSUE. MAZDA IS AWARE OF THIS ISSUE BUT DOES NOT CONTACT THE OWNERS OF THE CAR. THE RESULTING REPAIR IS VERY EXPENSIVE AND, I FEEL THERE IS A CHANCE OF TRANSFER CASE LOCK UP AND POSSIBLE LOSS OF CONTROL. *TR
THE REAR DIFFERENTIAL BOLTS HAVE SHEARED OFF ON THE FRONT REAR DIFFERENTIAL MOUNT AND CAUSES A LOUD THUMPING NOISE WHEN SHIFTING. *TR
WHILE TRAVERSING AN INTERSECTION MY MAZDA 6'S IDLE CLIMBED TO 3000 RPM WITHOUT SHIFTING. IN ORDER NOT TO STRESS THE ENGINE I WAS FORCED TO DRIVE AT A MAXIMUM OF 15 MPH AND BEING ON A HIGHWAY WITH NO PARKING OR EMERGENCY SHOULDER I WAS FRIGHTENED THAT I WOULD BECOME INVOLVED IN OR CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. I WAS FORTUNATE ENOUGH THAT NEITHER OCCURRED AND I WAS ABLE TO GET TO SAFETY. UPON INVESTIGATING I DISCOVERED THAT THIS PROBLEM IS NOT COVERED UNDER ANY SORT OF MANUFACTURERS WARRANTY AND IS THE SUBJECT MATTER OF MANY ONLINE DISCUSSION FORUMS. IT APPEARS THAT THIS PROBLEM IS ALL TOO COMMON. I BELIEVE THAT IT IS IN THE INTEREST OF CIVIC DUTY FOR THE MANUFACTURER TO BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR THE REPLACEMENT OF A PART THAT IS DEFECTIVE AND COULD POTENTIALLY POSE A GREAT TRAFFIC SAFETY RISK. *TR
I STARTED HEARING NOISE THAT SOUNDED LIKE I HAD RAN OVER A BUMP IN THE ROAD, THEN I NOTICED WHEN MY CAR SWITCHED GEARS IT STARTED TO SOUND LIKE A LOUD THUMP. THIS WAS UNBELIEVABLE TO ME AS MY CAR ONLY HAD 28K MILES ON IT. I TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALER AND THEY COULDN'T FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH IT. HOWEVER, WHEN I TOOK THEM DRIVING AND ACCELERATED AND THE CAR CHANGED GEARS, SURE ENOUGH..THUD! THE SERVICE MANAGER SAID TURN AROUND CAREFULLY AND GET BACK TO THE DEALER BECAUSE THIS CAR IS DANGEROUS TO DRIVE BECAUSE IT'S SLIPPING OUT OF GEAR. THEY HAD MY CAR FOR 6 WEEKS TRYING TO GET A GOOD TRANSMISSION FROM MAZDA TO PUT IN MY CAR. NOW IT'S 3 YEARS LATER AND MY CAR HAS 82K MILES ON IT. I HAD A BROKEN MOTOR MOUNT TWO WEEKS AGO AND THERE HAS BEEN A NOISE IN THE FRONT WHEELS THAT I HAVE BEEN TOLD IS THE STRUT MOUNTS BUT THEY CAN'T SEEM TO HEAR IT. MY DAUGHTER AND I TOOK A DAY TRIP THIS WEEK AND THE DAY WE GOT HOME I WAS RUNNING SOME ERRANDS. ONE PLACE IN PARTICULAR IS VERY HARD TO GET OUT OF AND INTO THE FLOW OF TRAFFIC AND YOU HAVE TO ACCELERATE VERY QUICKLY. WHEN I DID, MY HEART DROPPED BECAUSE WHAT DID I HEAR BUT THE FAMILIAR THUD! YES, MY TRANSMISSION WAS SLIPPING AGAIN AND MY CAR IS SITTING IN THE SHOP AS I WRITE THIS WAITING ON ANOTHER TRANSMISSION. I DON'T THINK MY TRANSMISSION WILL EVER GO OUT OF WARRANTY BECAUSE THEY HAVE TO KEEP REPLACING IT. I JUST PRAY IT DOESN'T TAKE 6 WEEKS FOR THEM TO RECEIVE ONE THAT THEY CONSIDER GOOD ENOUGH QUALITY TO INSTALL INTO MY CAR AGAIN. *TR
THE OTHER DAY I WAS DRIVING AND I WAS TRYING TO SPEED UP TO GET ON THE INTERSTATE RAMP. MY CAR ACTED LIKE IT DIDN'T WANT TO SHIFT OUT OF 3RD GEAR AND WOULDN'T ACCELERATE MUCH. IT THEN SHIFTED INTO 4TH GEAR AND THERE WAS A VERY LOUD THUD AND THE CAR JERKED. THE THUD AND JERK HAVE BEGUN TO HAPPEN ALMOST EVERY TIME THE CAR SHIFTS FROM 3RD TO 4TH GEAR. *TR
CLUTCH PEDAL IS DIFFICULT TO OPERATE. WHEN RELEASING THE CLUTCH, THE HEIGHT OF THE PEDAL, WHERE THE CLUTCH ENGAGES THE ENGINE IS HIGHER THAN OTHER VEHICLES MAKING A SMOOTH ENGAGEMENT DIFFICULT. THIS IS THE VERBATIM ISSUE DOCUMENTED ON NHTSA TSB 05-003/07 FOR MY VEHICLE. HOWEVER, MY VIN NUMBER IS HIGHER THAN THOSE COVERED UNDER THE RECALL AND THE ISSUE STILL EXISTS. PLEASE EXPLAIN WHY MY VEHICLE IS NOT COVERED OR PRODUCE A TSB COVERING THE VEHICLES WITH VINS HIGHER THAN [XXX]. TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 MAZDA, MAZDA 6. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHENEVER HE WOULD PRESS THE CLUTCH PEDAL TO CHANGE GEARS, HE WOULD HEAR AN ABNORMAL CLICKING NOISE. THE FAILURE BEGAN TO WORSEN TO THE POINT THAT THE CLUTCH PEDAL WOULD NOT RETURN TO POSITION ONCE IT WAS DEPRESSED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHERE THE DEALER ADVISED THE SLAY CYLINDER WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT REPLACED THE CYLINDER ON HIS OWN HOWEVER THE ORIGINAL FAILURE PERSISTED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DIFFERENT AUTHORIZED DEALER WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THE FIREWALL WAS CRACKED AND WAS CAUSING THE FAILURES. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT SERVICED FOR THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 43,518.

THERE IS A REAR "CLUNK" NOISE COMING FROM THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE. THIS IS STARTING TO SHOW UP QUITE OFTEN AROUND MY 24,000 MILE MARK. AFTER SEARCHING FOR OTHERS THAT HAVE HAD THIS PROBLEM, IT IS COMMON FOR THE REAR DIFFERENTIAL MOUNTING BRACKET SCREWS TO BACK OUT, GET SHEERED OFF, AND HAVE THE MOUNTING BRACKET BREAK CAUSING A FAILURE IN THE REAR DIFFERENTIAL THUS MAKING THE VEHICLE NOT DRIVABLE. *JB
WHILE ON VACATION, 6/23/07, WITH APPROX. 400 MI ON MY 2007 MAZDA 6, I INITIALLY NOTICED SOME STEAM COMING FROM THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT AND A DISTINCT ODOR. SHORTLY THEREAFTER, MY CAR WOULD NOT SHIFT OUT OF FIRST GEAR AND MY AT INDICATOR LIGHT APPEARED. I IMMEDIATELY PULLED THE VEHICLE OVER AND NOTICED A POOL OF TRANSMISSION FLUID LEAKING UNDER THE VEHICLE. I THEN CONTACTED THE DEALER. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE NEAREST MAZDA DEALER. I WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE'S TRANSMISSION HAD A DEFECTIVE SEAL THAT LED TO THE TORQUE CONVERTER AND THEREFORE, LEAKED ALL TRANSMISSION FLUID. THE CAR WOULD NOW NEED A NEW TRANSMISSION INSTALLED. AT APPROXIMATELY 3000 MI ON THE VEHICLE, I NOTICED A HIGH PITCHED WHINE WHEN ACCELERATING AND DECELERATING. IN ADDITION, THERE SEEMED TO BE A LAG IN SHIFTING. I CONTACTED THE DEALER TO INVESTIGATE THE PROBLEM AND BROUGHT THE VEHICLE IN ON 9/6/07. I WAS NOTIFIED THAT 2 COMPONENTS IN THE DIFFERENTIAL FAILED; A DIFFERENTIAL SEAL AND A SOLENOID VALVE. MAZDA INSTALLED THE TWO COMPONENTS. THE SEAL WAS REPAIRED BUT THE SOLENOID VALVE INSTALL WAS UNSUCCESSFUL. THE DEALER CONTACTED THE MANUFACTURER AND WAS INSTRUCTED TO INSTALL ANOTHER NEW TRANSMISSION. AS OF 9/18/07, THE DEALER SHOULD HAVE COMPLETED THE INSTALL TODAY AND WILL CONTACT ME WITH THE RESULTS. *JB
