The contact owns a 2008 Mazda Mazda6. The contact stated that while the vehicle was parked, there was fuel leaking from the fuel tank. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed with a leaking fuel tank. The contact was informed that the fuel tank needed to be replaced. The dealer added a protective coating. The failure reoccurred. The contact stated that an abnormal fuel odor was on the interior of the vehicle, and fuel was leaking onto the ground. The dealer was contacted and made aware of the failure. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 08V412000 (Fuel system, Gasoline); however, the part to do the recall repair was unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure; however, the contact was informed that the part needed to be purchased to complete the repair. The failure mileage was 235,000. Parts distribution disconnect.
The front subframe totally rusted out and the wheel disconnected. I purchased this car in 2009, but it was a 2008 vehicle. Apparently there was a recall on this part for the 2009 through 2018 vehicles but it did not include the 2008, which had the exact same problem. My car was kept in the garage its entire life and the last 10 years, I was retired and did not even drive it in the snow. The car only has 79,000 miles. Even if my car was not included in the recall, you would think the manufacturer would have notified me of the flaw and the danger. I sold this car to my nephew in February of this year and he was deriving it when the wheel fell off and separated from the subframe. He could have been killed. Had I know the issues with this vehicle, I would never have sold it to him and would have just traded it in. I believe that we are owed some type of compensation from the dealer for this. Fortunately he was not driving on a highway when this happened. We have a quote of $1400 to replace this part and weld it back on.
The front frame is rusted out to the point it is unsafe. This is the same issue for the 2009 2010 models.
TRANSMISSION SLIPS AND SHIFTS VERY HARD FROM 1ST TO 2ND IN THE COLD WEATHER.
DRIVING 2008 MAZDA 6 WHEN THE AT LIGHT CAME ON AND THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION SLIPPED FROM GEAR REENGAGED VERY HARSHLY INTO THIRD GEAR. THE 5 SPEED AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION DROPPED 4TH AND 5TH GEAR AFTER RE-ENGAGING.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 MAZDA 6. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 50 MPH, THE STEERING WHEEL INDEPENDENTLY VEERED TO THE RIGHT. THE DRIVER WAS UNABLE TO TURN THE STEERING WHEEL BACK INTO PLACE AND CRASHED INTO A GUARDRAIL. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED AND THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED. THE DEALER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 106,000.
I CALLED DEALER 3 TIMES TO HAVE MY AIRBAGS REPLACED (FINAL RECALL 1317F). THIS WAS OVER THE COURSE OF 6 MONTHS. THEY NEVER CALL ME BACK. THE THIRD TIME I CALLED (ON 8/24/2017) I WAS TOLD THEY WOULD CALL ME BACK (AGAIN) IN ONE MONTH. THEY STILL HAVE NEVER CALLED ME BACK.

THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED AND MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 158,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.

FROM LETTER JULY 2016 NHSTA 16V-354, I HAVE BEEN INSTRUCTED TO NOT DRIVE THE CAR WITH ANYONE IN THE PASSENGER SEAT. THIS IS NOT POSSIBLE DUE TO CARPOOLING AND BUSINESS USES OF THE CAR, AND I AM GRAVELY CONCERNED. MY LOCAL MAZDA DEALERSHIP, MATT CASTRUCCI IN CENTERVILLE, OH, WOULD NOT PROVIDE A LOANER CAR, WHICH I NEED TO WORK.

I RECEIVED NOTIFICATION IN FEBRUARY AND MARCH ABOUT FAULT AIRBAGS IN MY VEHICLE. AFTER MULTIPLE CALLS TO A DEALER, THEY STILL DO NOT HAVE PARTS AVAILABLE AND IT IS NOW MAY. I HAVE BEEN DRIVER A CAR WITH FAULTY AIRBAGS FOR MONTHS AND NO ONE HAS HELPED REMEDY THE SITUATION.
I RECEIVED A LETTER FOR A RECALL BACK IN 2015 AND WHENEVER I CONTACTED OAK LAWN MAZDA 6750 WEST 95TH ST OAK LAWN ILL 60453 THEY WOULD TELL ME THEY NEVER RECEIVED THE PART TO REPLACE THE RE-CALL PART,. TODAY MARCH 24 2016 I HAVE TRIED TO CONTACT OAK LAWN MAZADA AT THE NUMBER 888 927 3597 ON THE SAFETY RECALL NOTICE AND THE PHONE NUMBER RINGS AND THEN GOES BUSY THERFORE I AM NOT EVEN ABLE TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT TO TAKE MY CAR IN TO BE SERVICE FOR THIS RE CALL. WHAT TYPE OF SERVICE IS THIS FROM THE MAZADA CORPORATION THIS MAKES NOT SENSE THAT YOU ARE NOT ABLE TO CONTACT THE DEALERSHIP.
TAKATA RECALL: I AM MAKING A COMPLAINT THAT PUTNAM MAZADA IN BURLINGAME CA WILL NOT REPAIR MY AIRBAG UNTIL APRIL 12 AT THE EARLIEST. THIS UNACCEPTABLE. THEY STATE THAT MAZDA DOES NOT MAKE THE PARTS AVAILABLE TO KEEP ON SIGHT AND THEY MUST SPECIAL ORDER THEM. THIS POTENTIALLY PUTS ME IN CONTINUING DANGER FROM THEIR DEFECTIVE PART.

DECEMBER 14, 2015 AROUND 6:40PM I WAS DRIVING HOME FROM WORK ON HIGHWAY 275E AT APPROXIMATELY 70 MPH APPROACHING THE 71N EXIT RAMP . CAR AND DRIVER'S SEAT HEATER HAD BEEN RUNNING ABOUT 8 - 10 MINUTES. I SMELLED A BURNING SMELL. I WAS WEARING JEANS. WHEN LOOKING AROUND TO FIGURE OUT WHERE SMELL WAS COMING FROM, MY LEFT LEG CAME IN CONTACT WITH SEAT, I FELT A "BITE" SENSATION ON THE BACK OF MY LEG - IMMEDIATELY I THOUGHT PERHAPS MY SEAT WAS WAS ON FIRE. I DIDN'T SEE ANY ACTUALLY FLAMES, SO I TURNED OFF SEAT HEATER, AND OPENED THE WINDOWS - HOPING TO COOL OFF THE INTERIOR OF THE CAR TO PREVENT ANY SMOLDERING IN THE SEAT TO ADVANCE TO A FIRE (SOUNDS A STUPID NOW, BUT AT THE TIME IT SEEMED TO MAKE SENSE). CONTINUE DRIVING WITH ONE HAND, WINDOWS DOWN, AND FANNING SEAT WITH THE OTHER. WITH THE WINDOWS DOWN, THE SMOKE/BURNING SMELL DISSIPATED. BY THE TIME I GOT HOME (ABOUT ANOTHER 10-15 MINUTE DRIVE FROM THE INITIAL OCCURRENCE), THE SEAT HAD COOLED. I OBSERVED A BURN SPOT ON DRIVER'S SEAT WHERE I FELT THE "BITE" ON THE BACK OF MY LEG. I ALSO THOUGHT MY JEANS WERE BURNT; HOWEVER, THAT TURNED OUT TO BE TRANSFER FROM THE BURNT MATERIAL FROM THE SEAT - I WAS ABLE TO SCRATCH MOST OF IT OFF WITH FINGERNAIL. ALSO, MY SKIN WAS NOT INJURED. I WILL BE CONTACTING MY LOCAL MAZDA DEALERSHIP TODAY.

I WAS NOTIFIED IN FEBRUARY OF 2015 THAT THEY WERE RECALLING THE AIR BAGS. I GOT ANOTHER LETTER IN THE MAIL IN AUGUST, NOTIFYING ME THAT I WILL BE NOTIFIED ABOUT WHEN TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT TO GET THEM REPAIRED. NO ONE HAS GOTTEN BACK TO ME AND I'M STILL DRIVING WITH THE FAULTY AIR BAGS.
RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIN NUMBERS 15V-345 AND 15V-382, HOWEVER, THE PARTS TO DO THE REPAIRS WERE UNAVAILABLE AT TWO LOCAL MAZDA SERVICE CENTERS AND ARE NOT ORDERABLE FROM MAZDAUSA. THE SERVICE CENTERS ARE NOT ABLE TO REACH MAZDAUSA AND GET ANY ESTIMATES ON WHEN THE PARTS MAY BECOME AVAILABLE FOR ORDERING.
I RECEIVED THE SAFETY RECALL LETTER DATED 07/2015 FOR THE DRIVER AIR BAG INFLATOR INTERIM REPAIR- SAFETY RECALL 7914J NHTSA CAMPAIGN NO. 15V-345 & 15V-382. I WENT TO MAZDA DEALERSHIP TO HAVE REPAIR DONE, I WAS TOLD THAT PART HAD TO BE ORDERED AND WAS TOLD THAT PART WOULD BE IN ON OCTOBER 1ST, ON OCTOBER 2ND I WENT TO GET MY CAR REPAIRED AND WAS TOLD THAT PART WAS NEVER ORDERED AND THAT WAS JUST A "PROMPT" LETTER, AND NOT TO WORRY ABOUT IT. BUT I AM SENDING THIS COMPLAINT BECAUSE I AM VERY CONCERN. I WOULD LIKE FOR SOMETHING TO BE DONE ABOUT GETTING MY CAR FIXED....THANKS

TAKATA RECALL, I RECEIVED THE RECALL FOR THE FIRST TIME IN JULY 2015. MAZDA GAVE ME AN APPOINTMENT FOR SEPT.9,2015 I WENT AND AFTER BEING THERE THE WHOLE DAY. I WAS TOLD THAT THEY HAD TO CHANGE MY AIRBAG AND THEY ORDER THE PART.. THEY TOLD ME TO GO IN SEPT 12 IN ORDER TO FIX THE AIRBAG, AFTER SPENDING THE WHOLE DAY THERE THEY ORDERED THE WRONG ITEM SO I HAD TO LEAVE THE PLACE WITHOUT THE CORRECT AIRBAG. I CALLED ONE LAST TIME IN NOVEMBER AND THEY TOLD ME THAT THEY HAVEN'T RECEIVED THE AIRBAG, THAT THEY WILL CALL ME WHEN THEY GET IT THIS WEEK I RECEIVED ANOTHER SAFETY RECALL SAYING FINAL REPAIR-SAFETY RECALL 8215F WILL I GET MY AIRBAG REPLACED FINALLY?
THIS IS THE THIRD TIME I HAVE SENT TO YOU INFORMATION THAT MY CAR AIR BAG HAS NOT BEEN REPAIRED. I RECEIVED NOTICE IN AUGUST 2015 AND MADE AN APPOINTMENT TO REPAIR THE AIRBAG. I WENT TO THE MAZDA DEALER AND WAS TO.D THE REPAIR IS NOT POSSIBLE AS NO PART EXIST TO REPAIR THE CAR. I CALLED MAZA AND THEY SAID TO LET YOU KNOW. I THEN SENT TO YOU A COMPLAINT IN SEPTEMBER. I RECEIVED A LITTLE POST CARD FROM YOU THIS MONTH AND RETURNED THE POST CARD TO YOU AND LET YOU KNOW THAT MY CAR IS. IT REPAIRED. HOW CAN YOU HELP ME GET MY MAZDA FIXED?

I REVIEWED MY PAST COMP,AIN'T 10786122. I DID CALL MAZDA THE MANUFACTURER TO COMP,AS. THAT THE AIRBAG HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED AND NO PARTS ARE AVAILABLE AUGUST 2015. YOUR INFORMATION IS NOT CORRECT AS I DID CALL MAZDA AUGUST 2015. I WAS TOLD BY THE CORPORATE OFFICE TO FILE A COMPLAINT,AIN'T WITH YOU AND I DID. I HAVE FILE A COMPLAINT,AIN'T TODAY AND CALLED MAZDA TODAY. I HAVE ASKS THAT THE CAR BE REPLACED, REPAIRED OR REFUNDED. I WAS TOLD THAT THEY WILL CONTACT TH DEALER. WHILE STOPPED FOR A TRAFFIC LIGHT I WAS IMPACTED FROM A VEHICLE BEHIND MY VEHICLE. THE IMPACT FROM THE CRASH DID NOT CAUSE THE AIRBAGS TO DEPLOY. THAT BEING SAID, I AM STILL WAITING ON MAZDA TO TELL ME WHEN THEY WILL HAVE THE PARTS TO REPLACE THE AIRBAG DUE TO THE MASS RECALL. I GOT VERY LUCKY THIS TIME, BUT I AM NOT TERRIFIED ABOUT WHAT CAN HAPPEN NOW.
