To whom this may,I been having problems with check engine light keep coming on,I'm paying alot of money on this car,it could be that recall hose on back order causing that check engine light to come on,please HELP!!!!!!
TAKATA RECALL" 2006 MERCEDES BENZ C230 I WAS DRIVING HOME AND MY CAR STARTED MISFIRING REALLY BAD, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND STARTED FLICKERING AND STAYED ON AND THE LIGHTS IN THE CAR ON THE DASH AND ON THE RADIO STARTED TO FLICKER ON AND OFF AND THEN THE CAR JUST WAS LIMP IT WOULDN'T EVEN PICK UP SPEED IT WAS SLOWING DOWN ON THE FREEWAY WITH VERY BUSY TRAFFIC .I WAS SCARED FOR MY LIFE AND MY FRIEND THAT WE WERE GOING TO COME TO A COMPLETE STOP IN RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC . I TRIED TO HURRY HOME BUT IT WAS WOULD NOT PICK UP SPEED IT KEEP GOING SLOWER AND SLOWER AND WHEN WE HAD TO SLOW DOWN OR STOP DUE TO TRAFFIC IT ACTUALLY TURNED COMPLETELY OFF TWICE AND I WAS SO SCARED THAT AN ACCEIDENT WOULD HAPPEN IT WAS MISFIRING AND JUST A TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE THIS SHOULD BE SOME KIND OF RECALL OR SOMETHING THEY NEED TO LOOK INTO IT ABC FIX IT BEFORE SOMEONE GETS HURT OR WORSE .
STARTED VEHICLE AND WHEN IN MOTION, I TURNED THE STEERING WHEEL, THE VEHICLE SHUDDERED AND MADE A LOUD GRINDING NOISE. CHECKED STEERING FLUID, AND IT WAS BELOW THE MINIMUM FLUID LEVEL. REFILLED STEERING FLUID RESERVOIR TO PROPER LEVELS AND VEHICLE NO LONGER MADE ANY NOISES OR STRUGGLED TO TURN THE STEERING WHEEL. SEVERAL DAYS LATER THE NOISE AND DIFFICULTY STEERING RETURNED WHEN IN MOTION AND TURNING THE STEERING WHEEL. CHECK STEERING FLUID RESERVOIR AND IT WAS BELOW THE MINIMUM FILL REQUIREMENT. INSPECTED BELOW THE VEHICLE AND THERE WAS A LOT OF STEERING FLUID COVERING PASSENGER SIDE SUSPENSION SYSTEM AND SLOWLY DRIPPING FROM THAT AREA. POSSIBLE LEAK FROM PRESSURE HOSE. CONTACTED MULTIPLE MERCEDES-BENZ DEALERSHIPS FOR PART # 209-466-00-81 PRESSURE HOSE AND IT WAS NOT AVAILABLE. IT IS ON WORLD WIDE BACK ORDER WITH NO TENTATIVE DATE FOR REPLACEMENT. I'M NOW UNABLE TO DRIVE VEHICLE DUE TO AN UNAVAILABLE PART WITH NO DATE ON WHEN I COULD DRIVE DRIVE THE VEHICLE. THE LEAK SEEMS TO BE DRIPPING ONTO THE FRONT SWAY BAR WITH ABOUT A DROP PER MINUTE. SEE IMAGE ATTACHED.
MY FIRST INCIDENCE WAS DRIVING AND THE STEERING WOULD ALL OF A SUDDEN GET STIFF LIKE IT NEEDED POWER STEERING FLUID OR SOMETHING. CHECK IT WASN'T THE FLUID (THIS HAPPENED A FEW MONTH AGO I THOUGHT HMMM PROBABLY JUST SOMETHING FREAKY) THEN 1/8/16 RIDING DOWN THE BUSY INTERSTATE HIGHWAY THE CAR ACCELERATION JUST LEFT. I PRESSED THE ACCELERATOR TO THE FLOOR BUT NO SPEED. IT WAS EXTREMELY SCARY. I HAD THE CAR CHECKED OUT...IT'S THE CLASSIC PROBLEM I NEVER HEARD OF UNTIL TODAY. ( INTAKE MANIFOLD TUMBLE FLAP) SOME PLASTIC JUNK ON AN EXPENSIVE CAR. IF I WANTED A JUNK CAR I WOULD'VE WENT TO THE "JUNK YARD" PAID LIKE 250. AND BE DONE WITH IT. I'M VERY DISAPPOINTED AND ANGRY. I'M GLAD MY KIDS WASN'T IN THE CAR AND IT WASN'T A HORRIFIC OUTCOME. NOW I CAN'T DO ANYTHING WITH THE CAR RIGHT NOW BECAUSE IT'S EXPENSIVE TO REPAIR FOR SUCH A CHEAP PIECE THAT SHOULDN'T HAVE NEVER BEEN ON IT AND BECAUSE #1 I'M ON A FIXED INCOME #2 I STILL HAVE TO PAY FOR IT. BUT WHAT DOES MB CARE ABOUT THAT....ITS JUST A PRODUCT TO THEM, A MONEY MAKER.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 MERCEDES C230. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE POWER STEERING AND POWER BRAKES WERE INOPERABLE. THE DEALER REPAIRED THE VEHICLE BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE BUT DENIED ANY ASSISTANCE WITH REPAIRS. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 82,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 86,000. UPDATED 09/27/11 *BF UPDATED 2/23/12 *CN
THIS CAR PULLS TO THE RIGHT AND NEARLY CHANGED LANES AND ALMOST HIT ANOTHER CAR DURING A SPLIT SECOND OF LOOKING AT THE GAS GAUGE AND NOT DOWN THE ROAD. I TOOK THE CAR INTO MZB WITH THE COMPLAINT. THEY SAID IT WAS MY DRIVING HABIT. LATER THEY SAID IT WAS THE CURVE OF THE ROAD. STILL LATER THEY SAID IT WAS THE TIRES NOT INFLATED. AS I CONTINUED TO ASK FOR HELP ON THIS ISSUE AND SEVERAL TIMES BRINGING IT BACK TO THE DEALER THEY FINALLY SAID THAT A MZB REP WILL GO WITH ME ON A TEST RIDE. DURING THE TEST RIDE I STATED THAT AT ANY MOMENT YOU ASK I WILL LET GO OF THE STEERING WHEEL AND THE CAR WILL TURN TO THE RIGHT. AFTER SEVERAL OF THESE DEMONSTRATIONS TO HIM HE THEN HELD THE WHEEL HIMSELF AND FELT THE PULL. HE AGREED WITH ME THAT THERE WAS A PROBLEM. UPON RETURNING TO THE DEALERSHIP THEY MET IN A MEETING WITHOUT ME AND BEGAN TO DO THIS AND THAT WITH THE CAR ON THE RACK. I ASKED WHAT ARE YOU DOING? THEY TOLD ME MINOR ADJUSTMENTS. LATER THE CAR WAS RELEASED TO ME AND IN FACT THE PROBLEM WAS BETTER HOWEVER NOT CORRECTED. THIS CAR HAS A TERRIBLE PROBLEM AND DOES NOT RUN DOWN THE ROAD STRAIGHT SINCE I BOUGHT IT NEW. I DRIVE IT NOW THE WAY IT IS BECAUSE I AM TIRED OF MZB AND THEIR TACTICS. THE CAR WAS RETURNED TO MZB 12 TIMES IN THE FIRST YEAR OF OWNERSHIP FOR REPAIRS. PLEASE HELP IF POSSIBLE. *TR
