THERE'S BEEN SEVERAL COMPLAINTS ON THE ELECTRONIC STEERING LOCK (ESL) GOING BAD. I EXPERIENCED THIS DANGER EXACT FAILURE. THE CAR JUST HIT 80,000 MILES AND THIS FAILURE HAPPENED. WHEN THERE ESL LOCKS, YOU CANNOT TURN ON THE CAR TO DO ANYTHING. I HAPPENED TO BE OUT OF TOWN AND I HAD TO GET MY CAR TOWED HOME WHICH COSTED ME OVER $400 AND DIVER THE STEERING WAS LOCKED THEY HAD TO USE SPECIAL DOLLIES TO TOW MY CAR. THE DEALERSHIP WAS GOING TO CHARGE ME $2200 TO DO THE REPAIR WHICH IS UNHEARD OF AND IT'S RIDICULOUS. THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED AND STATIONARITY. PUT THE KEY IN THE IGNITION AND NOTHING HAPPENS. I THOUGHT THE ISSUE WAS WITH THE IGNITION BUT IT'S THE STEERING LOCK SINCE IT WILL NOT UNLOCK. THE ISSUE APPEARS TO BE WITH THE MOTOR INSIDE OF THE UNIT FAILING.
NO REMEDY FOR AIRBAG RECALL.
MY VEHICLE WAS RECALLED FOR THE TAKATA AIRBAGS AND I HAVE BEEN TOLD BY MBZUSA IT WILL BE OVER A YEAR BEFORE THEY HAVE THE PARTS AVAILABLE TO FIX. TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE.
THERE ARE SMALL CRACKS THAT HAVE DEVELOPED IN THE TOP OF THE FUEL SENDING UNIT. THIS ALLOWS FUEL TO LEAK OUT OF THE TOP OF THE FUEL PUMP AND POOL IN THE CENTER OF THE PUMP WHERE THERE ARE A NUMBER OF ELECTRICAL WIRES THAT ARE SUBMERGED IN FUEL. THIS IS A POTENTIALLY DEADLY PROBLEM AS THERE IS A REAL POTENTIAL FOR IGNITION OF THE LEAKED FUEL WHICH IS RIGHT UNDERNEATH THE DRIVERS SIDE PASSENGER SEAT WHERE MY 5 YEAR OLD'S CHILD SEAT IS LOCATED. THERE IS ALSO AN EXTREMELY STRONG ODOR OF GAS INSIDE THE CAR WHICH IS STRONG ENOUGH TO CAUSE LIGHT HEADEDNESS AND POSSIBLE SYNCOPE. THIS IS AN EXTREMELY DANGEROUS SITUATION. THE NTSB OPENED UP AN INVESTIGATION OF THIS ISSUE THE NATIONAL HIGHWAY TRAFFIC SAFETY ADMINISTRATION OPENED A PROBE IN JANUARY 2012 AFTER RECEIVING 20 REPORTS IN 2003-2006 E55 AMG VEHICLES AND EXPANDED THE PROBE LAST YEAR INTO ALL 2003-2008 E-CLASS VEHICLES. OWNERS SAID THEY REPORTED A STRONG ODOR OF GASOLINE FUEL BOTH INSIDE AND OUTSIDE OF THEIR VEHICLE, PARTICULARLY AFTER REFILLING THE FUEL TANK. MANY COMPLAINTS SAID THE ODOR SUBSIDED AFTER DRIVING SOME DISTANCE THEREBY LOWERING THE FUEL LEVEL IN THE TANK. OTHER OWNERS REPORTED THEY WOULD ONLY FILL THE GAS TANK TO ABOUT THREE-QUARTERS FULL TO AVOID THE ODOR. SOME OWNERS SAID FUEL LEAKED FROM THE FUEL FILTER/SENDER, LOCATED ON THE TOP OF THE FUEL TANK ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE, AND COLLECTED ON TOP OF THE TANK. THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE BUT THERE ARE OTHER MODELS AND YEAR MODELS THAT ARE AFFECTED AND DID NOT FALL UNDER THE MERCEDES RECALL CAMPAIGN.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER HAD EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 MERCEDES-BENZ C250. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE TAIL LIGHTS FAILED TO ILLUMINATE, INCLUDING THE TURN SIGNALS AND BRAKE LIGHTS. THE CONTACT ATTEMPTED TO REPLACE THE TAIL LIGHT BULBS HIMSELF AND FOUND THAT THE TAIL LAMP ASSEMBLY HAD PARTIALLY MELTED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO MERCEDES-BENZ EURO MOTOR CARS (7020 ARLINGTON ROAD, BETHESDA, MD 20814, 301-986-8800) WHERE THE TAIL LAMP HOLDERS AND REAR WIRING AND BULBS WERE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V177000 (EXTERIOR LIGHTING). THE MANUFACTURER PROVIDED PARTIAL REIMBURSEMENT FOR THE REPAIR. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 85,000. *BF CONSUMER STATED IT SHOULD BE COVERED AS THE C250 IS THE SAME CAR AS THE C300 INCLUDED IN THIS RECALL. THE DIFFERENCE IS THE ENGINE SIZE AND YEAR (2012 VS 2011).*JB

TWO YRS AGO RECEIVED LETTER STATING TAKATA AIRBAG ON FRONT PAX SIDE IS DEFECTIVE. HOWEVER, TIMELINE TO REPAIR IS CONTINOUSLY BEING PUSHED BACK EACK YEAR!

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. AN UNKNOWN DEALER WAS CONTACTED AND CONFIRMED THAT THE PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE FOR THE RECALL REMEDY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE AND WAS NOT ABLE TO CONFIRM WHEN THE PARTS WERE TO BECOME AVAILABLE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.
POWER LOSS WHEN ACCELERATING. I PULLED OUT IN TRAFFIC AND ACCELERATED BUT...I LOSS POWER AND ALMOST GOT RUN OVER FROM THE ONCOMING TRAFFIC!!! MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE. ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON! THIS IS A HORRIBLE ISSUE FOR ANYONE THAT HAS EXPERIENCED THIS PROBLEM. I'M HOPING THERE HASN'T BEEN ANY FATALITIES DO TO THIS PROBLEM.
THE STEERING WHEEL LOCKED COULD NOT START THE CAR. CAR WAS DRIVEN THEN TURNED OFF, WHEN YOU RETURN TO THE VEHICLE, IT WILL NOT TURN ON.EVERYTHING WAS UNRESPONSIVE,WHICH WONT TURN ON ENGINE. HAD TO TOW TO DEALERSHIP IT COST ME 1800.00. SO THEY SAID THE ELECTRICAL FOR CAR WAS BAD. THEN MY FUEL TANK LEAKED, THE COMPONETS TO THE FUEL TANK ALL WERE BAD, AND L COULD SMELL THE GAS IN MY CAR AND GARAGE. COST ME 805.00 TO REPAIR. LUCKY IT DID NOT BLOW UP
MY C250 STARTED MAKING A NOISE WHEN YOU FIRST START THE CAR. CHOKING AND HESITATIONS TO START, BUT YET WOULD START AFTER A MOMENT OR 2. THE NOISE WAS UNFAMILIAR. THIS NOISE WOULD CONTINUE THROUGH OUT THE DAY, AS LONG AS THE CAR SET FOR MORE THAN 15-20 MINUTES. I WOULD GO INTO THE STORE, TO SHOP COME BACK OUT TO THE CAR AN THE NOISE WOULD STILL BE THERE AFTER 15-20 MINUTES. I TOOK MY CAR TO THE MERCEDES BENZ DEALER IN HOUSTON, TEXAS NORTH. AFTER A $200 DIAGNOSE COST. THE CAM SHAFT ADJUSTER IS OUT. COSTING ANOTHER $4,575.68. MY CAR IS A 2012, WHICH I BROUGHT IN 2014 WITH LESS THAN 7,000 MILES. NOW IT IS 2019 WITH ONLY 87,885 MILES ON MY CAR, I DON'T KNOW WHAT THIS PART IS FOR OR WHY MY CAR NEEDS THIS. ALL I KNOW IT COST $4,575.68. WAY TO MUCH FOR SOMETHING I KNOW NOTHING ABOUT. CAN'T GET IN TOUCH WITH MANUFACTORY TO COMPLAIN AND MERCEDES HEADQUARTER HASN'T RETURN MY CALL. PLEASE GIVE ME ADVISE, AS TO WHAT TO DO WITH MY COMPLAINT.
TAKATA RECALL - MANUFACTURER RECALL NUMBER2018030010. THE RECALL WAS ISSUED ON 1/18/2017 BUT NOW IT'S JUNE 2019 AND THE RECALL STATUS IS STILL SHOWING "RECALL INCOMPLETE, REMEDY NOT YET AVAILABLE"... THIS IS JUST NOT ACCEPTABLE. PLEASE URGE MERCEDES TO TAKE ACTION RIGHT AWAY
BOUGHT CAR FROM MERCEDES LOT, USED WITH 70K MILES. DELIVERED IT WITH CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. SALESMAN CLAIMED IT WAS LOW WASHER FLUID. I SAID I WASNT GOING ANYWHERE IN A CAR WITH A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT AND HE NEEDED TO GET IT BACK TO SERVICE AND HAVE CODE RAN. AFTER DOING SO HE CLAIMED IT JUST NEEDED TO BE RESET SINCE LAST SERVICE SOME WORK HAD BEEN DONE(ANOTHER LIE). TOLD HIM I WAS RETEST DRIVING BEFORE ACCEPTING VEHICLE. TURNED OVER 3 TIMES, THEN STARTED. WHEN DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE THE THROTTLE BECAME UNRESPONSIVE AND DIED OUT WITH CARS SPEEDING UP BEHIND ME. FORCED MERCEDES TO PUT IT BACK IN SERVICE. IT WAS THE TIMING CHAIN AND CAM ADJUSTER ISSUE. THERES 100S OF PEOPLE NOTIFYING YOU OF THIS. MERCEDES KNOWS AND IS TRYING TO LIE TO CUSTOMERS AND STILL SELL THEM KNOWING THEY'RE DAMAGED AND DANGEROUS. FIX CAN BE UPWARDS OF $4000. A RECALL NEEDS TO BE MADE!!! PLEASE DO SOMETHING!

AIR BAG RECALL NOT REPAIRED AND CAN RESULT IN FATALITY
DEALERSHIP DIAGNOSED PROBLEM WITH CAMSHAFT ADJUSTERS. THIS HAPPENED 2 TIMES ALREADY ON THE SAME VEHICLE, AND IT IS VERY COSTLY TO FIX ($4000). FIRST TIME I HAD A RATTLING NOISE FROM ENGINE, AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON. FIRST TIME IT HAPPENED AT 46K MILES. SECOND TIME CAR HESITATES TO START, HAD LONG CRANKING, IT HAPPENED AT 69K MILES. IT IS A SYSTEMATIC, VERY COSTLY AND POTENTIALLY LIFE THREATENING PROBLEM.
RATTLING NOISE COMING FROM ENGINE AT STARTUP. DIAGNOSED AS DEFECTIVE CAM TIMING ADJUSTERS @ 65000 MILES. THIS APPARENTLY AN ON GOING PROBLEM WITH THIS PARTICULAR PART(S) AND CAUSES MAJOR ENGINE DAMAGE. REPAIR COSTS RANGE FROM $3000 - $5000 AND MORE IF THE ENGINE IS RUINED.
HELLO, THIS IS A FLAW IN THE MERCEDES M271 ENGINE. AFTER A CERTAIN AMOUNT OF MILAGE THE CAMSHAFT AND TIMING CHAIN HAVE BEEN MALFUNCTIONING IN MOST MERCEDES C250 CARS. THE DEALER IS ASKING $4400 FOR THE REPAIR, AND MERCEDES DID A RECALL ON IT YEARS AGO THE CAMSHAFT ADJUSTER SOLENOID IS VERY FAULTY AS IT HAPPENS TO MOST C250 VEHICLE OWNERS. EVER SINCE IT HAPPENED TO MY OWN CAR EVERY TIME I START IT SOUNDS LIKE ITS ABOUT TO BLOW UP. THE CHECK ENGINE STAYS ON EVERY DAY, SOMETIMES IT'LL GO IN LIMP MODE AND I WOULD CAREFULLY TAKE THE CAR OFF THE HIGHWAY.
WHEN STARTING CAR, THERE IS AN AUDIBLE 3 SECOND ENGINE RATTLE BEFORE THE ENGINE FULLY ENGAGES. ONCE THE ENGINE IS RUNNING, THE VEHICLE APPEARS TO PERFORM NORMALLY. THE MECHANICS HAVE DIAGNOSED IT AS FAILING CAMSHAFT ADJUSTERS. THE REPAIR ALSO ENTAILS REPLACING THE TIMING CHAINS. REPAIRS TO COST JUST OVER $5,000. COMMENTARY FROM THE MECHANIC INDICATES THAT THIS IS A VERY COMMON FAILURE WITH THIS ENGINE WHICH TYPICALLY OCCURS JUST BEYOND THE WARRANTY EXPIRATION. ONLINE SEARCHES HAVE CONFIRMED HIS ASSERTION. MY VEHICLE HAS 80,000 MILES AND HAS NEVER MISSED A SERVICE. I HAVE EVERY RECEIPT OF EVERY SERVICE. A CRITICAL ENGINE COMPONENT SUCH AS THIS WITH SUCH A COSTLY REPAIR PROCEDURE SHOULD NOT BE THIS COMMON. IT IS THE RESULT OF A POOR DESIGN AND AT LEAST A PORTION OF THE REPAIR COSTS SHOULD FALL ON THE MANUFACTURER.
WHEN I'M DRIVING THE CAR SEEMS TO LOOSE POWER THEN IT ACCELERATES LIKE IT HIT TURBO POWER AND THE ENGINE LIGHT COMES UP. IT ONLY HAS 57000 MILES. WHEN I DRIVE IT ON ECO IT RUNS FINE AND WHEN I CHANGE TO S START GIVING PROBLEMS. THE CAR FEELS LIKE IT STALLS, ALMOST AS IF IT'S GETTING NO FUEL. MY MECHANIC ADVISE ME TO GET IN TOUCH WITH YOU AND SEE IF YOU CAN ADVISE ME ON WHAT TO DO WITH IT, BECAUSE IT SHOULDN'T BE HAPPENING. THE ACCELERATION ISSUES WITH THIS VEHICLE PRESENT AN IMMINENT THREAT TO SAFETY OF BOTH DRIVER AND OTHER VEHICLES.
AUTO ONLY HAS 56K MILES AND FUEL PUMP WENT OUT, AUTO STALLED IN CITY TRAFFIC 2 TIMES IN MOTION, NO WARNING ON ISSUE UNEXPECTED DUE TO LOW MILEAGE ON AUTO. NO ENGINE CODE TILL 200 MILES AFTER FIRST STALL, ENGINE LIGHT FINALLY CAME ON, THEN SECOND STALL HAPPENED. HAD CODE READ P008A TRIGGERED. TOOK TO PERSONAL MECHANIC FOR TESTING AND REPAIR. HAD THE SYSTEM TESTED FOR THE RELAY, THE FILTER AND IT WAS THE FUEL PUMP. FIRST OCCURRENCE 03/19/2019 SECOND OCCURRENCE 03/23/19.

GOT A DEFECTIVE AIR BAG RECALL FROM MERCEDES BENZ FOR MY CAR. WHEN I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP ( RMB OF ATLANTA, SANDY SPRINGS, GA ) TO GET IT FIXED IN MY AREA THEY SAID THAT THEY DO NOT HAVE THE PART TO FIX IT. I WILL HAVE TO WAIT TILL JAN, 2020 FOR THE AIR BAG TO BE FIXED. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE FROM A SAFETY & CUSTOMER VIEWPOINT. WHY HAS MERCEDES ISSUED THIS REPLACEMENT NOTICE WHEN THEIR DEALERS CANNOT FIX IT.
TAKATA RECALL. I FEAR FOR THE SAFETY OF MYSELF AND MY PASSANGERS WHILE I AM DRIVING MY CAR ON A DAILY BASIS. I HAVE BEEN CONTACTING MERCEDES DEALERS IN HOPES THAT I CAN BE HELPED AND MY CAR CAN HAVE IT'S AIRBAG REPLACED HOWEVER TO NO AVAIL. I WOULD LIKE TO BE PROVIDED WITH SOME OPTIONS BECAUSE AN ACCIDENT CAN HAPPEN AT ANY TIME AND I AM FEARFUL OF THE POSSIBILITY OF THE AIRBAG RUPTURING CAUSING GREATER DAMAGE. I WAS ALSO INFORMED THAT THE AIRBAG COULD RUPTURE IN AREAS WITH HIGH HEAT AND THAT IS VERY ALARMING CONSIDERING SUMMERS IN NYC GET VERY HOT AND HUMID THEREFORE INCREASING THE CHANCES OF THAT RUPTURE IN AN ACCIDENT.
