WE HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR 2(TW0) YEARS SINCE RECEIVING A LETTER THAT OUR PASSENGER SEAT AIRBAG NEEDED REPLACEMENT AND NOW WE ARE HEARING THAT IT WILL BE ANOTHER YEAR BEFORE THE FIX WILL BE AVAILABLE. THIS IS MOVING TOO SLOW AND IT IS A SAFETY ISSUE. NO ONE HAS RIDDING IN THAT SEAT FOR 2W0 YEARS. MY WIFE IS TIRED OF RIDING IN THE BACK SEAT!!

TAKATA RECALL - WHEN PURCHASING THIS VEHICLE, I WAS INFORMED BY THE CARMAX DEALSHIP THAT THERE WERE OPEN RECALLS ON THE VEHICLE. THEY BRIEFLY EXPLAINED THAT ONE OF THE RECALLS WAS A DEFECTIVE PART, INVOLVING THE AIRBAG, COULD CAUSE SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH. THIS WAS A HUGE CONCERN TO ME, AS I WAS PURCHASING A MERCEDES-BENZ BECAUSE IT WAS AN EXTREMELY SAFE CAR. I EXPRESSED MY CONCERN IMMEDIATELY TO THE DEALERSHIP, WHO TOLD ME NOT TO WORRY AND THAT I COULD TAKE THE CAR DIRECTLY THE AN AUTHORIZED MERCEDES-BENZ DEALERSHIP TO HAVE PARTS REPLACED AND THAT THE ISSUE WOULD BE RESOLVED. AFTER SIGNING THE PAPERS TO PURCHASE THE VEHICLE, I CONTACTED SEVERAL AUTHORIZED DEALERSHIPS WITH ATTEMPTS TO HAVE THE RECALL REMEDIED. UNFORTUNATELY, I HAD NO LUCK IN DOING SO, AS EACH OF THE DEALERSHIPS INFORMED ME THAT THERE WAS NO REMEDY AT THIS TIME. I CONTINUED TO CALL EACH MONTH TO ATTEMPT TO HAVE THE PARTS REPLACED WITHOUT ANY LUCK. KNOWING THAT THERE WAS DEFECTIVE PARTS IN MY CAR AND THAT IT COULD CASE SERIOUS DEATH OR INJURY TO SOMEONE REALLY UPSET ME. I USE MY CAR FOR WORK AND AT TIMES, I AM RESPONSIBLE FOR TRANSPORTING CLIENTS. DUE TO THIS OPEN RECALL, MY CAR HAS BEEN DEEMED UNSUITABLE BY THE COMPANY I WORK FOR AND NOW I HAVE LOST A GREAT DEAL OF MONEY, SPECIFICALLY DUE TO THIS RECALL. I BOUGHT THE CERTIFIED CAR AT 50K AND AT 70K MILES, RIGHT AFTER THE WARRANTY ENDED - CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND THE DEALERSHIP SAID IT WILL COST $8K DUE TO CAMSHAFTS TO REPAIR!! THEY EVEN SUGGESTED THAT I SHOULD CONSIDER TRADING THE CAR IN! KEEP IN MIND I STILL OWE $28K SO THAT OPTION IS OUT! SINCE THEN THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT STILL ON EVEN AFTER I GOT IT REPAIRED AT A LOCAL/AFFORDABLE MECHANIC AND IT'S ABOUT 110K MILEAGE AND THE ENGINE IS RATTLING AS IT RUNS. THIS IS MY 3RD BENZ AND THE FIRST 2 FAILED DUE TO THE TRANSMISSION FAILURE. I JUST CAN'T BELIEVE THESE GERMAN CARS CAUSE SO MANY PROBLEMS AND SO COSTLY TO REPAIR. WHAT HAPPEN TO YOU PAY FOR WHAT YOU GET!!! TODAY, WHILE I WAS DRIVING THE CAR JUST SLOWLY STOP AND THE ENGINE CUT OFF! AAA CAME TO CHECK AND IT'S NOT THE BATTERY SO WILL NEED TO GET TOWED. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE FAILURE OCCURRED PERIODICALLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKING TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE DETERMINED. MERCEDES-BENZ OF ALEXANDRIA (200 S PICKETT ST, ALEXANDRIA, VA 22304 (703) 341-2100) AND MERCEDES-BENZ OF ANNAPOLIS (324 6TH ST, ANNAPOLIS, MD 21403 (888) 261-7620) WERE CONTACTED AND INFORMED THE CONTACT TO BRING THE VEHICLE IN FOR A DIAGNOSTIC TEST. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER FOR A DIAGNOSTIC TEST OR REPAIRS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 135,000.
2012 MERCEDES BENZ C300 - REAR TAIL LIGHT TAIL LIGHT FAILURE, FOUND BURN MARKS IN THE VEHICLE BULB ASSEMBLY (BULB PANEL) AND BURNED WIRES IT HAS A COMPLETE LOSS OF TAIL LIGHT LAMPS FUNCTION.
MY DRIVERS SIDE DOOR HANDLE ON THE INSIDE DOES NOT WORK. I NEVER HAD ANY PROBLEMS PRIOR TO THIS. I DROVE TO MY APPOINTMENT, GOT OUT OF MY CAR NORMALLY. UPON RETURNING TO MY CAR I NOTICED MY DOOR HANDLE LOOKED LOOSE, THEN COULD NO LONGER OPEN MY DOOR FROM THE INSIDE. I HAVE TO ROLL DOWN MY WINDOW IN ORDER TO OPEN MY DOOR ON THE OUTSIDE, WHICH IS EXTREMELY IRRITATING. THE COST TO REPAIR IS OVER $1,000 WHICH I DO NOT BELIEVE IS MY RESPONSIBILITY TO PAY FAR. I AM SCARED TO HAVE MY KIDS IN MY, IN CASE AN ACCIDENT DOES OCCUR AND I CANNOT EXIT THE VEHICLE. AFTER SEARCHING THIS PROBLEM I HAVE LEARNED THAT IT IS EXTREMELY COMMON IN THESE MODELS. THIS IS OBVIOUSLY ON MERCEDES TO RECALL FOR YOUR VALUED CUSTOMERS SAFETY.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO MERCEDES-BENZ OF COVINGTON (LOCATED AT 8080 WESTSHORE DRIVE, COVINGTON, LA 70433, (985) 900-1212) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE CAMSHAFT GEAR-SPROCKET AND EXHAUST CAM ADJUSTER NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 115,000. *TT
CAM SHAFT ADJUSTERS WENT OUT AND HAD TO BE REPAIRED FOR NORMAL USE AND DRIVERS SIDE DOOR HANDLE BROKE ON THE INSIDE AND NEEDS TO BE REPLACED DUE TO REGULAR USE.
TAKATA RECALL- NOTIFIED IN MARCH 2017 OF THE RECALL, STILL NOT FIXED. UNACCEPTABLE IF THIS IS A "RISK OF SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH". 18 MONTHS IS NOT A "REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME". DOUBT WE CAN SELL CAR EITHER. SEEMS LIKE A LAWSUIT WAITING TO HAPPEN. WHAT IS THE WAY FORWARD?
"TAKATA RECALL" I HAVE BEEN WAITING MY LOCAL DEALER OF MERCEDES BENZ TO REPLACE THE AIR BAGS WITH THERE EXCUSE THAT THEY DO NOT HAVE THE PARTS AVAILABLE. ITS BEEN OVER A YEAR. I HAVE CALLED THEM TODAY AND THEY HAVE THE SAME EXCUSE. MAKE ME BELIEVE THAT THEY ARE WAITING ME TO CHANGE OR SALE THE CAR TO THEN NOT HAVE THE RESPONSIBILITY TO REPLACE THE EQUIPMENT. I USE THE CAR ON A DAILY BASIS.
STEERING WHEEL LOCK AFTER VEHICLE IS SHUT DOWN. WHEN YOU RETURN TO THE VEHICLE INSERT THE KEY THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER, SPEEDO, STEERING WHEEL IS UNRESPONSIVE WHICH WILL NOT ALLOW YOU TO TURN THE ENGINE. THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL IT'S A ELECTRONIC STEERING LOCK THAT FAILS ON SEVERAL MERCEDES BENZ CAUSING THE OWNER TO TOW THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR A 2,000 DOLLAR REPAIR. IT HAPPENS SEVERAL TIMES BEFORE IT COMPLETELY FAILS.
"TAKATA RECALL" I AM A 72 YEAR OLD DISABLED VET WITH MANY HEALTH ISSUES. WE ARE EXTREMELY AFRAID TO USE THIS VEHICLE HAS EXPERIENCED THE DAMAGE THAT DEFECTIVE AIR BAGS CAN CAUSE. WE CAN NOT SELL THIS VEHICLE BECAUSE OF THE DAMAGE IT COULD CAUSE TO A POTENTIAL BUYER. OUR LOCAL DEALERSHIP HAS WARNED THAT A REPLACEMENT PART IS YEARS AWAY FROM ARRIVING IN EL PASO. SO OUR VEHICLE ONLY HAS ACCRUED ONLY 11,108 MILES DUE TO OUR FEARS AND WE CAN'T SELL IT.

I HAVE AN ALERT ON MY VEHICLE THAT STATES, MALFUNCTION AIRBAG.
INTERIOR DOOR LATCH SPONTANEOUSLY BROKE. I HAD DRIVEN MY CAR TO WORK THAT MORNING AND GOTTEN OUT OF THE CAR TO GO INTO MY OFFICE BUILDING. THERE WAS NO SIGN OF ANY ISSUE WITH THE LATCH. LATER THAT AFTERNOON, I LEFT WORK AND MADE A STOP SOMEWHERE. WHEN I WENT TO GET OUT OF THE CARE THE LATCH JUST FLOPPED. THERE WAS NO SPRING ACTION AND I COULD NOT GET OUT OF THE CAR UNTIL I ROLLED DOWN THE WINDOW AND OPENED THE DOOR FROM THE OUTSIDE. ACCORDING TO FORUMS ON MBWORLD.COM DATING AS FAR BACK AS 2012, THIS IS A COMMON ISSUE FOR C-CLASS AND OTHER MB MODELS THIS COULD DEFINITELY BE A SAFETY ISSUE IN THE EVENT AN ACCIDENT OR IN ANOTHER LIFE THREATENING SITUATION. ACCORDING TO THE MERCEDES BENZ SERVICE ADVISOR IN MY AREA, THE COST TO REPAIR THIS ISSUE IS UPWARDS OF $1300 BECAUSE THEY HAVE TO REPLACE THE ENTIRE DOOR PANEL. IF THIS IS HAPPENING TO SO MANY OF THESE VEHICLES THROUGH NO FAULT OF THE OWNER, SHOULDN'T THERE BE A RECALL ISSUED FOR THIS? WHY ARE THEY ACCEPTING PARTS THAT THEY KNOW TO BE DEFECTIVE?

TAKATA RECALL: MERCEDES HAS HAD THIS OPEN RECALL ON MY VEHICLE FOR A LONG TIME, I AM LOOSING INCOME NOT BEING ABLE TO RENT OUT MY VEHICLE. I HAVE ASKED MERCEDES FOR COMPENSATION OR HELP WITH NO AVAIL.
ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON , THE CAR HESITATED TO TURN ON AT TIMES, SOMETIMES HAD TO PRESS THE GAS PEDAL TO HAVE VEHICLE TURN ON. TOOK IT TO LOCAL BENZ SHOPS THAT CLAIMED TO WORK ON BENZ, THEY SAID THEIR COMPUTER COULD NOT DETERMINE THE CODE. SO TOOK IT TO THE DEALER IN FORT MYERS, FL. WAS TOLD IT WAS THE TIMING CHAIN AND THE 2 CAM SHAFTS. WAS QUOTED $5032. SO HAD TO OTHER CHOICE THAN TO HAVE THEM REPAIRED. ONLY RECEIVED THE MANAGERS DISCOUNT OF $150 (WOW). I READ THAT MANY OTHER OWNERS HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM AND THEY WILL NOT RECALL . THEY HAVE RECALLED OLDER MODELS LIKE 2006 FOR THIS SAME TYPE OF ISSUE. BUT OF COURSE SEEMS THAT MERCEDES BENZ HAS NO PRESTIGE. ALSO NOTE THIS CAR ONLY HAS 41,000 MILES IN MINT SHAPE TAKE GOOD CARE OF IT. VERY , VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH MERCEDES BENZ, DON'T GET STUCK BUYING A VEHICLE THAT IS NOT DEPENDABLE. THIS MODEL HAS TOO MANY ISSUES.

WHILE STARTING ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. WOULD NOT GO AWAY. TOOK TO MERC DEALER,TOLD CAMSHAFT FAILURE. REPLACEMENT COST 5865 DOLLARS. CAR SERVICED AT DEALERSHIP AS PER RECOMMENDATIONS. SEVERAL BLOGS REPORT SIMILAR ISSUE BY DIFFERENT CUSTOMERS. SIMILAR ISSUE IN E 350 ON 2006 MODEL. MERC SEEMS TO AWARE OF THIS ISSUE.

I CAN CLICK ON "OK" TO CLEAR THEM OUT BUT WITH THE AIRBAG RECALL AND NO RESOLUTION I AM FEARFUL OF A MALFUNCTION. I HAD MY CAR TO THE MERCEDES DEALER TWO TIMES AND WAS TOLD THEY WOULD NEED TO INVESTIGATE IT, AT MY EXPENSE, WHICH COULD BE ANYWHERE BETWEEN $500-$4500 DEPENDING ON WHAT THEY FIND. WITH A SAFETY ISSUE AT RISK I THINK THE RESPONSIBILITY IS ON MERCEDES TO INVESTIGATE AND CORRECT THIS AT NO EXPENSE TO ME. I WILL HAVE TO SELL THE CAR AND LOSE MONEY OVER IT. I KEEP WAITING FOR THE AIRBAGS IN RECALL TO COME IN AND HAVE BEEN LIVING WITH IT LIKE THIS FOR OVER A YEAR BUT I AM SEEING NO END IN SIGHT TO THE RECALL BEING RESOLVED ANYTIME SOON.

I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AT ABOUT 60MPH IN THE LEFT HAND LANE. I WAS ABOUT 7 CAR LENGTHS FROM THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME AS I HAD JUST MOVED INTO THAT LANE TO MOVE TO THE RAMP TO MOVE OFF THE HIGHWAY. THE VEHICLE IN FRONT OF ME BRAKED, AND WAS GOING AT A LOWER SPEED. I TRIED TO SLOW DOWN AND MY CAR DID NOT SLOW. I PRESSED MY BRAKE TO THE FLOOR AND MY CAR STILL WOULD NOT STOP. I WAS ABLE TO PULL TO THE SHOULDER AND THE CAR FINALLY CAME TO A STOP CLOSE TO THE RAMP, I THOUGHT IT WAS AN ISOLATED INCIDENT EXCEPT I SAW ON A WEBSITE, OTHERS HAD THE SAME PROBLEM.
TAKATA RECALL. I HAVE BEEN GETTING RECALL NOTICES (VIA MAIL AND EMAIL) ABOUT MY CAR'S AIRBAGS SINCE JANUARY 2018. I HAVE CONTACTED MY DEALERSHIP MULTIPLE TIMES ABOUT THE ISSUE, AND EACH TIME I AM TOLD THAT THERE ARE CURRENTLY NO MEANS WITH WHICH TO REPLACE THE DEFECTIVE, POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS AIRBAGS. THERE IS NO RECOURSE OFFERED AT ALL BY MERCEDES BENZ AT THE CURRENT TIME TO ADDRESS THIS ISSUE, WHICH MERCEDES BENZ ADMITS IS DANGEROUS. MY MOST RECENT CALLED WAS TODAY, WHEN I SPOKE TO A SERVICE ADVISER NAMED MOE AT MERCEDES BENZ OF BROOKLYN.

TAKATA RECALL: I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO GET A REMEDY TO THIS PROBLEM SINCE OCTOBER 2017. I WAS TOLD ON 27 OCTOBER BY THE DEALERSHIP (MERCEDES BENZ OF HUNT VALLEY: VICTORIA) THAT PARTS WOULD BE AVAILABLE IN EARLY JANUARY 2018. I WAITED UNTIL 31 JANUARY 2018 AND CONTACTED THE DEALERSHIP, SINCE THEY DIDN'T CONTACT ME. THEY THEN SAID THE RECALL WOULD BE REMEDIED IN MARCH 2018. I RECEIVED A LETTER IN APRIL, DIRECTING ME TO CALL THE DEALERSHIP TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT AND TO ENSURE THEY HAD PARTS AVAILABLE. WHEN I CALLED THEY CLAIMED MY VEHICLE WAS NOT ON THE RECALL LIST, AND I SHOULD DISREGARD. HOWEVER, WHEN I WENT TO THE NHTSA WEBSITE, MY VEHICLE IS ON THE LIST. PLEASE ASSIST ME IN RECONCILING THIS ISSUE. THIS IS VERY FRUSTRATING, AND I WANT TO GET THIS DEFECT REPAIRED. THANK YOU.

MY C250 HAS ONLY 62,000 MILES. LAST MONTH, IGNITION COIL BROKE, SO I SPENT ABOUT $300 TO REPAIR THAT. ONLY 2 DAYS AFTER I FIXED THE PROBLEM, THE ENGINE INTAKE AND EXHAUST CAM SHAFT ADJUSTERS, TIMING CHAIN TENSIONER BROKE. TOTAL REPAIR COST OF ABOUT $4,000. HOW CAN A VEHICLE THAT HAS ONLY 62,000 MILES HAVE ALL THOSE MAJOR MECHANICAL PROBLEMS? I KNOW I PURCHASED A LEMON. I CALLED AND TALKED TO BENZ CUSTOMER SERVICE REP IN NEW YORK AREA. ORIGINALLY HE TOLD ME THAT HE SURE MADE IT SOUND LIKE THEY BENZ WILL PAY FOR A BIG CHUNK OF TOTAL REPAIR BILL. AND PROMISED TO ME THAT HE WILL GET BACK TO ME WITH AN ANSWER WITHIN FEW DAYS. I CALLED HIM MANY TIMES AND MY WIFE CALLED HIM AS WELL. NEVER A REPLY FOR OVER A MONTH. OUT OF FRUSTRATION, I TRIED TO FIND HIS SUPERVISOR. ONLY AFTER I TRY TO TALK TO HIS SUPERVISOR, THE CUSTOMER REP CALLED ME UP AND OFFER 10% OF REPAIR COST. HE BLAME ME FOR NOT TAKING MY BENZ TO FOR ALL MECHANICAL ISSUES DURING POSSESSION OF MY VEHICLE. THAT IS THE REASON WHY BENZ OFFERED TO PAY FOR 10% OF REPAIR COST. SO I TOLD HIM. BENZ SALESMAN NEVER MENTIONED THAT TO ME. IF IN FACT, I HAD TO TAKE MY VEHICLE TO BENZ DEALERSHIP FOR ANY REPAIRS TO GET BETTER SERVICE DISCOUNT, I WOULD HAVE TAKEN IT TO BENZ DEALERSHIP. THEY NEVER MENTION NO SUCH THING, AND NOW MAKING EXCUSE TO BLAME ME FOR THEM SELLING ME A LEMON. I AM SO DISAPPOINTED BY QUALITY AND CUSTOMER SERVICE OF MERCEDES BENZ COMPANY.

WE HAVE RECEIVED AN EMAIL ONLY FROM THE NHTSA TO FILE THIS COMPLAINT. BOTH MERCEDES-BENZ USA AND THE NHTSA ARE LIABLE IN NOT PREFORMING THE NECESSARY REPAIRS IN A TIMELY MANNER. BASED ON THE INFORMATION IN THE RECALL THAT THIS SAFETY FEATURE IN OUR VEHICLE WILL "POSSIBLY CAUSE SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH." THIS VEHICLE SHOULD BE RECALLED IMMEDIATELY AND REPAIRED WITHING A WEEK OF SENDING OUT THE RECALL NOTICE. AFTER ONLY 75K MILES MY MB HAS A FAILING PART THAT IS WELL KNOWN AMONGST ALL MB DEALERSHIPS. THE CAM SHAFT ADJUSTMENT UNITS BOTH INTAKE AND EXHAUST HAVE FAILED, CAUSING ME TO UNDERTAKE REPAIRS IN EXCESS OF $3K. FOR SUCH A NEWER VEHICLE THIS IS UNCONSCIONABLE AND MANY DEALERSHIPS AROUND THE PHOENIX AREA HAVE KNOWN ABOUT THIS ISSUE FOR AWHILE AND HAVE EXPRESSED SHOCK THAT THIS HASN'T BEEN A RECALL ISSUE YET. I KNEW THERE WAS AN ISSUE WITH MY MB WHEN I STARTED IT UP AND THERE WAS A RATTLING NOISE COMING FROM THE ENGINE PORTION OF THE VEHICLE. EACH SHOP AND DEALERSHIP I'VE TAKEN IT TO HAVE NOTED IT AND HAVE STATED THAT REPAIRS RANGE FROM $3K TO $4.8K. SIMPLY UNACCEPTABLE. I AM HOPING THE NHTSA WILL INVESTIGATE AND RECALL THIS CAR FOR THIS ISSUE AS IT IS A WELL-KNOWN ISSUE AND NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED.
