CONCERNED THAT 'PARTS ARE UNAVAILABLE' ON THE TAKATA RECALL. WHEN WILL I BE ABLE TO GET THIS REPAIR MADE?
P0002 FUEL VOLUME REGULATOR CONTROL CIRCUIT RANGE/PERFORMANCE LIMP MODE UPON ACCELERATION
THE MERCEDES DEALERSHIP (VALENCIA) IS NOT WANTING TO CHANGE MY AIR BAGS BECAUSE I HAVE TO WAIT FOR MY YEAR. DRIVING MAKES ME FEEL UNSAFE WITH MY CHILDREN I HAVE BEEN HAVING OTHER ISSUES WITH MY CAR DUE TO THIS.
THE CAR WAS STATIONARY AND WHEN TRYING TO START THE STEERING WAS LOCKED AND IGNITION WOULD NOT START. THE CAR HAD THE STEERING LOCKED AND ELECTRONIC IGNITION SWITCH SPONTANEOUSLY CORRUPTED AND REQUIRED REPLACEMENT.
WE PURCHASED THE VEHICLE IN NOVEMBER 4, 2019 WITH THE UNDERSTANDING THE RECALL FOR THE AIRBAGS WAS INCOMPLETE. THE RECALL DATE IS JANUARY 18,2019. WE ARE DRIVING THE VEHICLE DAILY AND CONCERNED ABOUT THE AIRBAG RECALL WITH NO ACTION.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO MERCEDES-BENZ OF VALENCIA (23355 VALENCIA BLVD, SANTA CLARITA, CA 91355, (661) 753-5555) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE CAMSHAFT AND ENGINE SENSOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO THE LOCAL DEALER. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 75,000.

THE OTHER VEHICLE CRASHED INTO THE PASSENGER SIDE DOOR. THE AIR BAGS TO BOTH PASSENGER AND DRIVER'S SIDE DOORS DID NOT DEPLOY. THERE WERE NO INJURIES AND A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS ABLE TO BE DRIVEN FROM THE SCENE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC AND IT TOOK TWO MONTHS TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE WITH THE PASSENGER SIDE DOOR NEEDING TO BE REPLACED. THE DEALER AND THE MANUFACTURER HAD NOT BEEN CONTACTED YET. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 65,000. INVALID VIN.

TAKATA RECALL..THERE HAS BEEN A RECALL ISSUED SINCE 2017 FOR THE DRIVER AIRBAG BUT REMEDY HAS BEEN DONE..THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS AND LIFE THREATENING..
THE INNER DRIVER DOOR HANDLE MECHANISM FAILED LEAVING ME TRAPPED IN THE VEHICLE. THIS IS VERY UNSAFE. THE CAR HAS 61K MILES. THIS IS A DESIGN FLAW ISSUE, NOT WEAR AND TEAR.
THE FRONT DRIVER SEAT THE STARTED TO RIP
CAR WAS BEING DRIVEN AT APPROXIMATELY 60 MPH ON THE COURTNEY CAMPBELL CAUSEWAY HIGHWAY, ON A STRAIGHTAWAY, THAT CONNECTS CLEARWATER TO TAMPA, FLORIDA. SUDDENLY THE (CLOSED) SUNROOF SPONTANEOUSLY EXPLODED, CAUSING A VERY LOUD NOISE AND SHATTERED GLASS TO FALL DOWN INTO THE PASSENGER COMPARTMENT. MY WIFE, WHO WAS DRIVING MANAGED TO MAINTAIN CONTROL OF THE CAR AND PULL TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. GIVEN THE CAR'S SPEED AND SURROUNDING TRAFFIC (MORNING RUSH HOUR) IT IS UNBELIEVABLE THAT THE SUNROOF EXPLOSION DID NOT CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. THE POLICE WERE CALLED AND ARRIVED ON SCENE. NO POLICE REPORT WAS FILED, AS THERE WAS NO ACCIDENT AND NO INJURY. THE CAR WAS TAKEN TO MERCEDES BENZ OF TAMPA BAY. THEY TOOK PICTURES AND GAVE US A LOANER CAR AND SAID THAT THEY WOULD MAKE A DETERMINATION AS TO WHO WOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE REPAIR. THE INCIDENT OCCURRED ON 5/1/2019 AT ROUGHLY 7:45 AM. IT WAS NOT UNTIL FRIDAY, 5/3/2019 THAT WE HEARD FROM THE SERVICE CONSULTANT, INDICATING THAT THE CAR WAS OUT OF WARRANTY AND THEREFORE THE REPAIR WAS OUR RESPONSIBILITY. IT TOOK THE DEALERSHIP OVER 2.5 DAYS TO MAKE THAT DETERMINATION ... SEEMS LIKE THAT DETERMINATION COULD HAVE BEEN MADE IN ABOUT 5 MINUTES. COULD IT BE THAT MERCEDES BENZ USA WAS INVOLVED IN EVALUATING THE RESULTING LIABILITY IF THEY WERE TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY? GIVEN THAT THERE WAS NO IDENTIFIABLE CAUSE FOR THE EXPLODING SUNROOF, IT IS EVIDENT TO ME THAT IT'S A MANUFACTURERS DEFECT THAT COULD EASILY HAVE CAUSED AN ACCIDENT AND SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH, AND YET MERCEDES BENZ ASSUMES NO RESPONSIBILITY. A COST TO REPAIR/REPLACE THE SUNROOF GLASS WAS PROVIDED VERBALLY (OVER $1,700.00). THIS SPONTANEOUS EXPLOSION OF A SUNROOF IS APPARENTLY SOMETHING THAT HAS OCCURRED IN THE PAST WITH MERCEDES BENZ, AS WELL AS OTHER CAR MANUFACTURERS. THIS COULD HAVE A CATASTROPHIC OUTCOME ... ANY TIME IT HAPPENS.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 MERCEDES-BENZ C300. WHILE THE CONTACT'S SON WAS DRIVING 40 MPH, ANOTHER VEHICLE CRASHED INTO THE FRONT END OF THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE. THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. THERE WERE NO INJURIES SUSTAINED. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A TOW LOT. THE CONTACT CALLED AN UNKNOWN DEALER TO NOTIFY THEM ABOUT THE AIR BAG FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. IN JUNE OF 2018 WE HAD TO HAVE CAM SHAFT WORK DONE ON OUR CAR WHICH WAS SLIGHTLY OVER THE MANUFACTURE WARRANTY. THIS TOOK TWO TRIPS TO THE SHOP AND ABOUT $10,000 IN REPAIRS BECAUSE THE ONE SIDE FAILED THEN WITHIN A FEW WEEKS THE OTHER SIDE FAILED. I HAVE READ ON THE WEB MANY PEOPLE HAVE HAD THE SAME ISSUE AND IT BEGINS RIGHT AFTER THE WARRANTY GOES OUT. NOW THERE IS AN ISSUE WITH THE TIMING CHAIN WHICH I READ SHOULD HAVE BEEN REPLACED WHEN THE CAM SHAFT WORK WAS DONE. ALL THESE ISSUES WITH THE SAME MODEL AND THERE HAS BEEN NO RECALL. MERCEDES TOLD US IT IS A PROBLEM WITH THE C250 AND IT WILL PROBABLY HAVE TO BE DONE AGAIN AFTER ANOTHER 50,000 MILES. I DON'T UNDERSTAND IF THEY ARE AWARE OF THIS ISSUE WHY THEY HAVE NOT CORRECTED IT. IT COSTS ABOUT $5000 EACH TIME!
FRONT RIGHT MALFUNCTION
THE AIRBAG LIGHT CAME ON. DASH BOARD DISPLAYS LEFT AIRBAG MALFUNCTION, HORN NO LONGER WORKS, DISPLAY CAN NOT BE CLEARED. STEERING MAKE LOTS OF OF CLICKING SOUND WHEN TURNED ON EITHER DIRECTION. TOOK THE CAR TO THE MERCEDES DEALERSHIP FOR DIAGNOSIS. THE INITIAL RESPONSE WAS THAT THE STEERING MODULE FAILED AND MY ASSESSMENT WAS IT IS PROBABLY DUE TO RECALL NO GROUND WIRE RECALL NUMBER 17V627000.. UPON FURTHER INQUIRY THE DEALER TOLD ME THAT THE STEERING MODULE BROKE AND CAME APART. I SUSPECT THIS EITHER DUE TO DEFECTIVE STEERING MODULE OR RECALL # 17V252000 STEERING BOLT. I HAD COMMUNICATED THIS ISSUE TO MBUSA VIA EMAILS AND SEVERAL PHONE CALLS. THEY STILL HAVEN'T AGREED TO COVER THE COST OF THE REPAIR. AFTER SEVERAL CALLS TO THE DEALER, THEY FINALLY SHARED THE PICTURE OF THE STEERING MODULE AS YOU CAN SEE IT ATTACHED. OTHER OWNERS HAVE REPORTED THE SAME PROBLEM. PLEASE SEE PICTURE OF INSTALLED AND NEW MODULE

ON 4/24/19, I CALLED THE CORAL GABLES MERCEDES DEALER AND WAS TOLD THE PARTS WERE NOT IN AND THAT I WOULD RECEIVE A LETTER WHEN THE PARTS ARRIVE. SINCE THIS IS A DEFECT THAT CAN CAUSE SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH, HOW CAN IT TAKE MONTHS FOR THE PARTS TO BE AVAILABLE AND FOR MY VEHICLE TO BE SERVICED?

I WAS TERRIFIED WHEN MY DAUGHTER TOTALED THE MKZ AND I SPECIFICALLY WANTED TO PURCHASE A VEHICLE WITH NO AIRBAG RECALL. TODAY 02/25/2019 I WAS INFORMED FOR THE FIRST TIME THAT THE MERCEDES BENZ I HAD PURCHASED HAD A TAKEDA AIRBAG RECALL. THAT RECALL GOES BACK TO 01/1990! HOW IS IT POSSIBLE THAT THE VIN # SEARCH STATED THIS VEHICLE HAD NO RECALLS WHEN I PURCHASED IT, THAT INFORMATION SHOULD HAVE BEEN TRANSPARENT AND DISCLOSED. THIS SHOULD BE A VIOLATION OF MY RIGHT, ESPECIALLY SINCE I SPECIFIED THAT I DID NOT WANT A VEHICLE WITH AN AIRBAG RECALL. NOW I AM IN DEBT FOR A VEHICLE THAT HAS A SERIOUS RECALL WITH NO RESOLUTION. AGAIN FEARFUL AND STRESSED BECAUSE IT WAS A GIFT FOR MY DAUGHTER. THIS NEEDS TO STOP. HUGE CORPORATIONS PREFERRING TO SETTLE INDIVIDUAL SERIOUS ACCIDENTS OR CASUALTIES INSTEAD OF FIXING THE ISSUE BECAUSE IT IS NOT COST EFFECTIVE. I WAS LIED TO INTENTIONALLY TO ENSURE A SALE OF THEIR VEHICLE WITHOUT DISCLOSING FULL INFORMATION.

AAA WAS ABLE TO RETRIEVE DATA FROM THE VEHICLE DATA RECORDER. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT A COMPREHENSIVE REPORT COULD BE ATTAINED BY EQUIPMENT THAT ONLY THE DEALER OR MANUFACTURER POSSESSED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THERE WAS NO DIAGNOSTIC CHECK OR INSPECTION PERFORMED ON THE VEHICLE. A DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED.
