I RECIEVED A RECALL NOTICE FOR TAKATA AIRBAGS IN FEBRUARY OF 2019. MERCEDES SAYS THAT YOU GUYS ARE THE HOLDUP WITH REPLACEMENT PARTS. AS THE LETTER STATES THAT I AM BASICALLY USING MY VEHICLE AT MY OWN RISK UNTIL REPLACEMENT HAS BEEN MADE, I WANT A RECORD OF MY UNHAPPINESS AND FEAR. MY LOVED ONES RIDE IN THIS CAR WITH ME AND I FEEL AS THOUGH I AM PUTTING THEM AT UNNECESSARY RISK. UNACCEPTABLE.

RECALL INFORMATION: PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG SUMMARY: MERCEDES-BENZ USA IS RECALLING CERTAIN MY 2010-2017 C-CLASS, GLK-CLASS, SLS-CLASS AND E-CLASS COUPE MERCEDES-BENZ VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH PASSENGER-SIDE FRONTAL AIRBAGS AFFECTED BY THE DEFECT DECISION OF TK HOLDINGS, INC. (TAKATA). UNDER CERTAIN CIRCUMSTANCES DURING A CRASH THAT NECESSITATES FRONTAL AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT, THE DEFECT IN YOUR PASSENGER-SIDE FRONTAL AIRBAG INFLATOR MAY CAUSE THE INFLATOR TO EXPLODE. A PASSENGER-SIDE INFLATOR EXPLOSION DURING DEPLOYMENT COULD RESULT IN METAL FRAGMENTS STRIKING THE FRONT PASSENGER OR OTHER OCCUPANTS, POSSIBLY CAUSING SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH. SAFETY RISK: ACCORDING TO TAKATA, IN THE EVENT OF AN INFLATOR EXPLOSION, METAL FRAGMENTS COULD PASS THROUGH THE AIR BAG CUSHION MATERIAL, WHICH MAY RESULT IN INJURY OR DEATH TO VEHICLE OCCUPANTS. ACCORDING TO MERCEDES-BENZ'S RECALL WEBSITE SPECIFICALLY FOR TAKATA AIRBAG RECALLS (HTTPS://WWW.MBUSA.COM/EN/RECALL/TAKATA-RECALLS), THE PARTS FOR MY VEHICLE WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE UNTIL AUGUST 2020. THE RECALL WAS REPORTED ON JAN 18, 2019. THIS TIME FRAME OF ALMOST 2 YEARS IS UNACCEPTABLE.
A RECALL NOTICE WAS ISSUED A YEAR AGO FOR THIS VEHICLE DUE TO THE TAKATA AIRBAG RECALL. MERCEDES STILL HAS NO INFORMATION AS TO WHEN A FIX FOR THIS ISSUE WILL BE AVAILABLE. I DO NOT FEEL SAFE DRIVING THIS CAR WITH A PASSENGER IN THE FRONT SEAT UNTIL THE AIRBAG IS REPLACED. THERE DOES NOT SEEM TO BE ANY SENSE OF EMERGENCY ON THE PART OF MERCEDES TO RECTIFY THIS SITUATION.

THE RECALL ON MY VEHICLE'S AIRBAG WAS ANNOUNCED OVER A YEAR AGO, AND THE PARTS ARE STILL NOT AVAILABLE. SINCE THE ISSUE COULD LEAD TO FATAL INJURY, I DON'T BELIEVE THAT THIS IS BEING HANDLED IN A TIMELY MANNER, ESPECIALLY SINCE A REMEDY IS STILL NOT AVAILABLE.
I RECIEVED A RECALL ON MY VEHICLE FOR ELECTRICAL GROUNDING AND INADVERTANT AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT. HOWEVER DESPITE MULTIPLE CALLS TO THE LOCAL MERCEDES BENZ SERVICE CENTER FOR THE LAST PAST ONE MONTH, I WAS TOLD THE "PART" WAS NOT AVAILABLE AND THAT THEY WERE WAITING FOR IT FROM THE COMPANY. I FEEL ONE MONTH IS QUITE A LONG TIME TO GET A"PART" WHICH IS O A RECAL SAFETY ISSUE. I WONDER IF YOU COULD PLEASE DO THE NEEDFUL

I WAS RECENTLY PULLING INTO A PARKING SPOT AND MY STEERING WHEEL MADE A LOUD POP AND GOT STUCK, THEN A LOUD CRACK AGAIN AND STARTED TO WORK. IT STILL CLICKS AND NOW MY PASSENGER AIRBAG LIGHT IS ON PERMANENTLY. I WENT TO THE DEALERSHIP IN OXNARD AND THEY SAID IT WOULD BE 175 TO CHECK ABOUT THE AIRBAGS EVEN THOUGH THERE IS A RECALL. THEY ALSO SAID THEY DON'T HAVE THE PARTS NEEDED TO MY STEERING WHEEL. I DO NOT FEEL SAFE AT ALL DRIVING THIS CAR. THE HORN DOESN'T WORK AND NEITHER DO ANY OF THE BUTTONS ON MY STEERING WHEEL.
THERE HAVE BEEN TWO RECALLS ON MY CAR THAT ARE SAID TO BE DANGEROUS AND EVEN DEADLY, YET MERCEDES HAS NOT HAD PARTS TO FIX MY CAR TO A SAFE CONDITION FOR MONTHS AND STATE IT WILL YEARS BEFORE THEY WILL HAVE THE PARTS (2020). THIS IS AN UNREASONABLY DANGEROUS SITUATION THEY HAVE PLACED ME IN AS A PAYING CUSTOMER AND IS A BREACH OF ACCEPTABLE STANDARDS. TWO RECALLS ARE CURRENTLY THREATENING MY LIFE AND THE LIFE OF ANY PASSENGER WHEN THE CAR IS UTILIZED, A SHORT IN THE STEERING COLUMN CAN CAUSE THE AIRBAG TO BLOW AT ANY TIME AND A DEFECTIVE AIRBAG ON PASSENGER SIDE CAN SEND SHRAPNEL FLYING THAT IS REPORTED TO BE A POSSIBLE CAUSE OF DEATH OR SERIOUS INJURY. I WAS STOPPED IN FRONT OF MY GARAGE (WAITING FOR THE DOOR TO GO UP). WHEN I LIGHTLY PRESSED ON THE GAS PEDAL TO PULL IN, THE ENGINE ROARED AND THE CAR SUDDENLY LEAPED FORWARD AT A VERY HIGH RATE OF SPEED, GOING THRU MY DETACHED GARAGE WALL. THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL STUCK AND I COULD NOT GET THE CAR TO STOP. I HAVE PULLED INTO THIS GARAGE THOUSANDS OF TIMES AND KNEW THIS WAS THE CAR. SLAMMING ON THE BRAKES COULD NOT STOP THE CAR BECAUSE IT WAS ACCELERATING TOO QUICKLY. HITTING THE BRICK FACADE OF THE CONDOMINIUM, BEYOND THE DETACHED GARAGE WAS THE ONLY THING THAT STOPPED THE CAR. NO AIRBAGS DEPLOYED, WHICH I THOUGHT THEY SHOULD HAVE BECAUSE OF THE IMPACT. EVEN THOUGH I ONLY TRAVELED APPROXIMATELY 30 FEET, THE CAR ACCELERATED SO QUICKLY, IT TOTALED THE CAR. THE CAR IS CURRENTLY UNDER RECALL AS OF NOVEMBER 2017, FOR A STEERING COLUMN ISSUE, WHICH INCLUDES IMPROPERLY GROUNDED COMPONENTS AND THE STEERING COLUMN CLOCK SPRING BEING BROKEN ISSUE RELATED TO THE AIRBAGS DEPLOYING WHILE DRIVING THE CAR. I HAVE TIRED SEVERAL TIMES TO HAVE THE CAR REPAIRED AND HAVE BEEN TOLD THE MERCEDES DEALERSHIP STILL DOES NOT HAVE THE PART. PER THE DEALERSHIP AND MERCEDES, I WAS ADVICED I WOULD RECEIVE A LETTER WHEN IT WAS AVAILABLE. I PURCHASED THE CAR USED AND HAVE SINCE FOUND OUT SINCE THIS IS THE THIRD RECALL ON THIS VEHICLE. I BELIEVE IT HAD TO BE SOMETHING WITH EITHER THE ACCELERATOR AUTOMATICALLY ENGAGING. IT WAS ALMOST LIKE THE CRUISE CONTROL QUICKED IN. SINCE IT IS UNDER RECALL FOR THE STEERING WHEEL RELATED ISSUE, I DON'T KNOW IF IT AFFECTED THE CRUISE CONTROL AND CAUSED THIS TO HAPPEN.
