MY ELECTRICAL POWER STEERING STOP WORKING WHILE I WAS DRIVING. ON DASH"POWER STEERING MALFUNCTION-CHECK USER'S MANUAL" I WAS ABOUT GET CRASH, LUCKLY . PULLED OVER SAFELY. BARELY CAN TURN THE POWER STEERING. I TRY TO DRIVE NEXT DAY,STILL NOT WORKING.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 MERCEDES-BENZ E350. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE SPEAKERS IN THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE MADE AN ABNORMAL NOISE AND THEN BEGAN TO SMOKE. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THERE WERE NO INJURIES AND A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER (MERCEDES-BENZ OF SOUTH ORLANDO, 4301 MILLENIA BLVD, ORLANDO, FL 32839, 888-398-3936) WHERE DIAGNOSTIC TESTING FOUND NO FAILURES. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE, BUT NO FURTHER ASSISTANCE WAS PROVIDED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 51,968.
THE PASSENGER SEAT HAD BEEN MOVED FORWARD USING THE LEVER OR HANDLE ON THE UPPER SEAT BACK SIDE TO MOVE THE SEAT FORWARD TO ENABLE A WOMAN WHJO HAD RECENTLY HAD BILATERAL KNEE REPLACEMENT SURGERY TO BE SEATED IN THE BACK SEAT. WHEN THE SEAT BACK WAS ERETURNED TO ITS UPRIGHT POSITION IT MOVED BACK FORCEFULLY INTO THIS WOMAN'S KNEES AND DID NOT STOP UNTIL HER HUSBAND REACHED THE SEAT BACK LEVER RLELEASED IT AND MOVED THE SEAT FORWARD. THIS CAUSED HER PAIN SHE SCREAMED AND FLAILED ABOUT WITH HER ARMS DAMAGING A REAR WIND SCREEN IN THE CAR. THE CAR WAS NOT IN MOTION. IT WAS STATIONARY IN MY DRIVEWAY. THERE IS NO SAFETY SENSOR. THERE COULD HAVE BEEN A TERRIBLE OUTCOME IF HER HUSBAND HAD BEEN SLOWER OR IF THERE HAD BEEN A SMALL CHILD OR A PET IN THE WRONG PLACE.
THE MB-TEX UPHOLSTERY HAS A 10 INCH TEAR ALONG THE "SEAM" OF THE UPHOLSTERY ON THE DRIVER'S SEAT NEAR THE CENTER OF THE SEAT. ON FURTHER RESEARCH, THIS IS AN EXTREMELY COMMON PROBLEM RELATED TO MERCEDES WITH MB-TEX (NOT SIMPLY THIS YEAR AND MODEL).
ACCORDING TO TAKATA, IN THE EVENT OF AN INFLATOR EXPLOSION, METAL FRAGMENTS COULD PASS THROUGH THE AIR BAG CUSHION MATERIAL, WHICH MAY RESULT IN INJURY OR DEATH TO VEHICLE OCCUPANTS. HOWEVER, A REMEDY IS NOT YET AVAILABLE? STILL??? I HAVE BEEN WAITING SINCE 2017!
I RECEIVED A LETTER OVER 2 YEARS AGO AND HAVE CALLED MB REPEATEDLY ABOUT THE REPAIR. THEY SAY IT HASN'T BEEN RESOLVED YET BUT ONCE THEY DO THEY WILL LET OWNERS KNOW. AS BEST I CAN TELL THE ISSUE IS NOT REPLACING THE FAULTY AIRBAG BECAUSE THEY DON'T WANT TO OUTLAY THE COST. BMW TRIED THIS WITH ANOTHER CAR I OWNED AND AFTER SEVERAL CALLS THEY FINALLY SENT A REPLACEMENT TO THE DEALER AND REPLACED IT,. HOW IS IT MB CAN KEEP GOING ON ALMOST 3 YEARS WITHOUT DOING ANYTHING? IF MY CHILD GETS HURT DUE TO THIS I WOULD BE FORCED TO PURSUE LITIGATION. IT SEEMS LIKE THEY ARE JUST DRAGGING THEIR FEET.
FOR A COUPLE OF MONTHS WHEN I PUT MY 2014 E350 SPORT IN PARK IT WOULD JERK FORWARD. NEVER REALLY THOUGHT ABOUT IT BEING A PROBLEM. I WAS DRIVING MY CAR INTO MY NEIGHBORS DRIVEWAY AND WENT TO TURN AROUND AND JUST AS I WENT TO PUT THE CAR IN REVERSE, THE CAR PROPELLED FORWARD DIRECTLY INTO HER TREE. IF THE TREE HAD NOT BEEN THERE MY CAR WOULD HAVE WENT INTO THE FRONT OF HER HOUSE. I AM THANKFUL THAT I AM JUST SHAKEN UP AND A LITTLE SORE. I AM ALSO THANKFUL THAT I WAS THE ONLY ONE IN THE CAR DURING THIS FREAK EVENT AND THAT IF HAPPENED WHERE IT DID BECAUSE THE 2 OTHER TIMES THAT I WAS IN MY CAR THAT DAY IS WAS IN HEAVY TRAFFIC AND I WOULD HAVE DONE MAJOR DAMAGE TO MYSELF AND POSSIBLY SOMEONE ELSE. AT FIRST I BELIEVE MY SHOE GOT CAUGHT ON THE ACCELERATOR, BUT THERE IS NO POSSIBLE WAY THIS COULD BE THE ISSUE AS I WAS APPLYING IT TO THE BRAKE WHEN THE CAR PROPELLED FORWARD. FOR AS HARD AS I HIT THE TREE THE AIRBAG DID NOT DEPLOY. I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE MY CAR BACK HOME WITH ALL THE COOLANT LEAKING FROM IT. *TR
TIRE BRAND : CONTINENTAL TIRE LINE: CONTIPROCONTACT TIRE SIZE: 245/40R18 97V COMPONENT:SIDEWALL DOT NUMBER : HW2PN1H61314 SIDEWALL BLOWOUT IN DRIVEWAY WITHOUT HITTING ANYWHERE IN NORMAL TEMPERATURE. THREAD IS STILL IN GOOD CONDITION, UNDER 5,000 MILES DRIVEN. THERE ARE NO NAILS OR ANY ISSUES. IT JUST GOT BLOWOUT. CAR WAS PARKED IN DRIVEWAY AT 3.45 PM AND BLOWOUT HAPPENED AT 7.30 PM. OUTSIDE TEMPERATURE WAS AROUND 83F.
I'M CURRENTLY DRIVING A 2104 E350 4MATIC WITH ABOUT 20,000MILES ON IT, THE FRONT PASSENGER WHEEL CRACKED FROM THE INSIDE. UPON FURTHER RESEARCH IT SEEMS THAT THE WHEELS CRACKING ON THE MERCEDES IS A KNOWN ISSUE AND A CLASS ACTION LAW SUITE HAS BEEN FILED IN NY FOR THE SAME. AFTER CONTACTING CUSTOMER SERVICE, THEY SAID THEY DON'T HAVE THIS ISSUE IN THE DATABASE AND THEY WOULD NOT GIVE ME AN ESCALATION LINE OR ANYONE THAT'S WILLING TO LOOK INTO THIS ISSUE TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THE PROBLEM AND TAKE CARE OF.
JULY 23RD 2016 MY TIRE HAD A LEAK FROM UNKNOWN REASON , HAD IT REPLACED AND HAD A LEAK AGAIN ON SAME WHEEL ON AUGUST 5TH 2016 SAME TYPE OF LEAK , CONTINENTAL CONTIPROCONTACT SIZE 245/40/18 97V SIZE
WHILE DRIVING THE AIR PRESSURE NOTIFICATION LIT UP ON THE DASHBOARD. WITHIN 10 MINUTES I WAS IN MY DRIVEWAY I GLANCED AT THE TIRES TO SEE IF THEY ARE LOW (ONLY 3 LBS DIFFERENCE WAS LIT UP ON THE FRONT RIGHT TIRE) AND NOTICED ON THE FRONT LEFT TIRE THAT A BUBBLE ON THE SIDEWALL THAT HAD SUDDENLY APPEARED WHICH WAS NOT THERE EARLIER IN THE DAY.
THE POWER STEERING STOPPED FUNCTIONING SUDDENLY WHILE DRIVING AND I WAS UNABLE TO MAKE A TURN EXCEPT BY SUBSTANTIAL MANUAL FORCE. FORTUNATELY I WAS NOT ON A HIGHWAY AND AT 20/25 MPH ABLE TO PULL IMMEDIATELY OFF THE ROAD. THE DEALER REPAIRED IT AND SAID THAT IT WAS A COMPUTER SYSTEM ISSUE AND THAT THEY WERE AWARE OF IT BUT HAD NOT NOTIFIED CUSTOMERS. AND APPARENTLY THEY HAVEN'T DONE SO YET OR NOTIFIED THE NTSB BECAUSE NOTHING SHOWS ON THIS WEBSITE. THE OCCURRED OVER 6 MONTHS AGO SO I AM SHOCKED THAT IT HASN'T BEEN DEALT WITH.
TAKATA RECALL
WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY, I ATTEMPTED A HEAVY ACCELERATION TO GET THE CAR UP TO TRAFFIC SPEED. TWO TIMES IN THE PAST 60 DAYS, THE CAR SERIOUSLY MALFUNCTIONED WITH MULTIPLE DASHBOARD INDICATOR LIGHTS AND THE MAIN TEXT "PRE SAFE FUNCTIONS LIMITED" ACCOMPANIED BY A TOTAL LOSS OF SPEED CONTROL. THE ACCELERATOR BECAME 100% UNRESPONSIVE AND I HAD TO COAST TO AN EMERGENCY LANE. THERE WAS SIGNIFICANT DANGER IN BOTH INSTANCES AS I HAD TO CROSS MULTIPLE LANES OF TRAFFIC WITH NO POWER TO GET TO SAFETY. THE WEATHER WAS CLEAR AND THE EXTERNAL SENSORS WERE NOT OBSTRUCTED BY DIRT OR SNOW- WHICH HAS PREVIOUSLY CAUSED THE PRE-SAFE FUNCTIONS LIMITED MESSAGE. I BELIEVE THAT THE MULTIPLE ERRORS INDICATED ON THE DASHBOARD ARE ALL ERRONEOUS TO THE CORE ISSUE OF A SUDDEN AND TOTAL LOSS OF POWER UPON HEAVY ACCELERATION. THE RESOLUTION WAS TO SHIFT THE CAR INTO PARK, PUSH THE IGNITION BUTTON AS IF TURNING THE VEHICLE OFF, WAIT AND RESTART. THE CAR OPERATES NORMALLY UPON RESTART. NOTE THAT THE ENGINE APPEARED TO ALREADY BE OFF PRIOR TO SHIFTING INTO PARK. IT IS AS IF THE HEAVY ACCELERATION KILLED THE ENGINE. THIS ISSUE HAS POTENTIAL FATAL CONSEQUENCES IF THE DRIVER IS UNABLE TO GET THE CAR OUT OF THE LANE OF HIGH SPEED TRAFFIC-- AS I WAS IN. A LESS EXPERIENCED OR PANICKED DRIVER COULD EASILY FAIL TO HANDLE THE SITUATION AND GET REAR ENDED AT HIGH SPEED AS THE CAR CAN ONLY BE RESET BY GETTING IT INTO PARK AND RESTARTED. SIMILAR BLOG POSTS ONLINE REPORT THE SAME WITH OTHER MERCEDES VEHICLES. I HAVE HAD THE CAR FOR FOUR MONTHS AND IT HAS HAPPENED TWICE. SEEMS LIKE A SOFTWARE/ELECTRONIC ISSUE CAUSING THE MECHANICAL ISSUE TO ME. VERY DANGEROUS.

THE CONTACT RECEIVED A RECALL NOTIFICATION FOR NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 19V010000 (AIR BAGS) AND STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE. MERCEDES-BENZ OF DELRAY (1001 LINTON BLVD, DELRAY BEACH, FL 33444) CONFIRMED THAT PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE TO PERFORM THE RECALL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE ISSUE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 MERCEDES BENZ E350. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT 65 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED. IN ADDITION, THE CONTACT NOTICED THE VEHICLE HAD BEEN LEAKING FUEL. THE VEHICLE HAD TO BE TOWED TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS INFORMED THAT THE FAILURE WAS RELATED TO NHTSA CAMPAIGN 15V792000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE). THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED UNDER THE RECALL. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 11,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 MERCEDES-BENZ E350. WHILE DRIVING 40 MPH, THE CONTACT REAR ENDED THE PRECEDING VEHICLE. THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. THE CAR HAS A ECO SYSTEM WHICH MAKES THE ENGINE STOP WHEN YOU COME AT COMPLETE STOP TO SAVE FUEL. WHEN THE INCIDENT HAPPENED, THE CAR STARTED WITH A HUGE JERK AS IF THE GEAR BOX IS BROKEN. NOW IT IS GIVING TWO DIFFERENCE MESSAGES: 1. AUXILIARY BATTERY MALFUNCTION 2. PRE-SAFE FUNCTIONS LIMITED (SEE OPERATOR'S MANUAL) THE CAR IS JURKING HEAVILY. I TOOK IT TO MERCEDES DEALER IN PLEASANTON, CA. THE SERVICE AGENT ASKED ME IF I BOUGHT THE VEHICLE FROM THEM. I TOLD THAT I DID BY AN S550 FROM THEM BUT NOT THIS ONE SINCE THEY DIDN'T HAVE THE SPECIFIC FEATURE WHICH I NEEDED HENCE I WENT TO SAN JOSE MERCEDES BENZ WHO HAD THE VEHICLE WHICH HAD ALL THE FEATURES OF MY CHOICE. SHE THEN TOLD ME THAT IT IS PRETTY SAFE TO DRIVE AND THAT THEY DON'T HAVE TIME AND SLOT TO CHECK THE VEHICLE AND I HAVE TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT TO GET IT CHECKED. I TOLD THEM THAT "AS LONG AS IT IS SAFE TO DRIVE, I AM NOT WORRIED, HOWEVER, TO ME IT IS QUITE UNSAFE". DUE TO THIS ISSUE, I WAS PARKING THE CAR IN A PARKING LOT OF 76 GAS STATION, THE CAR ENGINE STOPPED WHEN I APPLIED THE BREAK IN THE PARKING LOT. I WANTED TO PARK IT RIGHT SO AS I PULL MY FEET FROM THE BREAK, THE CAR JURKED AND HIT THE FRONT GUARD FROM RIGHT SIDE TO THE FRONT PARKING (CONCRETE STOPPER) STOPPER. I HAVE TO SHOW IT TO THE DEALER DURING MY APPOINTMENT ON WEDNESDAY.
I WAS TRAVELING ON HIGHWAY 26 AT APPROXIMATELY 60 MPH GETTING READY TO MERGE ONTO HIGHWAY 526, WHEN THE ENTIRE DIGITAL WARNING PANEL LIT UP AND THEN WENT DEAD, WITH THE ENGINE INOPERABLE LIGHT COMING ON AND ASKING ME TO REFER TO THE OWNERS MANUAL. ALL POWER WAS CUT FROM THE GAS PEDAL AND I WAS LUCKY ENOUGH TO BE ABLE TO COAST TO A VERY SMALL STRIP OF MEDIAN WITHOUT BEING HIT BY ANY OTHER VEHICLES. THIS IS A VERY HEAVILY TRAFFICKED AREA AND CHARLESTON BEING A PORT CITY I WAS VERY FORTUNATE THAT THE TRUCKS THAT WERE AROUND ME WERE ABLE TO AVOID HITTING ME. IF I HAD BEEN IN ANOTHER SITUATION, SUCH AS PULLING OUT INTO TRAFFIC OR TRYING TO CROSS OVER A TWO LANE HIGHWAY THE RESULTS COULD HAVE BEEN CATASTROPHIC TO SAY THE LEAST. I HAVE BEEN TOLD BY THE DEALER THAT THERE WAS A BULLETIN ISSUED INVOLVING THE THROTTLE VALVE ACTUATOR, TOPIC # LI54.18-P-058597, VERSION 9. THEY HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO TELL ME WHY THIS HAPPENED IN THE FIRST PLACE, CANNOT GUARANTEE IT WILL HAPPEN AGAIN AND I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHY THERE WAS NOT A RECALL FOR THIS PARTICULAR POTENTIALLY LIFE THREATENING ISSUE? WHILE DRIVING ON A SIDE STREET LOOKING FOR AN ADDRESS, A WARNING MESSAGE APPEARED SOMETHING LIKE "LANE GUIDANCE SYSTEM INOPERATIVE". SUBSEQUENTLY, THE ENGINE LOST POWER AND WOULD NOT MOVE THE VEHICLE MORE THAN ABOUT 3 MPH. WE PULLED OFF TO THE SIDE, NOT KNOWING WHAT TO DO. I SHUT OFF THE ENGINE AND RESTARTED IT AND IT APPEARED TO WORK NORMALLY FOR THE REST OF THE TRIP HOME. WE WONDER WHAT WOULD HAVE HAPPENED IF WE HAD BEEN IN A MIDDLE LANE ON A FREEWAY WHEN THIS HAPPENED. I PLAN ON CONTACTING THE DEALER TODAY FOR MORE INFORMATION AND TO HAVE THEM INSPECT THE CAR. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 MERCEDES BENZ E350 EQUIPPED WITH CONTINENTAL CONTIPROCONTACT TIRES, SIZE: 245/40R18. WHILE DRIVING AT 20 MPH OVER A POTHOLE, THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE TIRE BLEW OUT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE THE TIRE WAS REPLACED. THE CONTACT REPLACED THE OTHER THREE TIRES ON SEPARATE OCCASIONS FOR THE SAME FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE DOT NUMBER WAS UNKNOWN. THE APPROXIMATE VEHICLE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 6,000 AND THE TIRE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 5,000.
MY CAR HAS AN ELECTRONIC TRUNK CLOSURE. WITH THIS FEATURE, WHEN SOMEONE KICKS THEIR FOOT UNDER THE REAR BUMPER OF THE CAR, THE TRUNK LID OPENS OR CLOSES AUTOMATICALLY, ASSUMING HE OR SHE HAS THE CAR FOB IN HIS OR HER POSSESSION. MY WIFE HAS HAD THE TRUNK LID CLOSE ON HER HEAD ON TWO OCCASIONS WHILE TAKING ITEMS OUR OF THE TRUNK. SHE INADVERTENTLY ENGAGED THE AUTOMATIC CLOSURE WHILE LEANING INTO THE TRUNK. THE FIRST TIME, THE TRUNK LID HIT THE BACK OF HER HEAD, THE SECOND TIME IT HIT HER FOREHEAD. IN EACH CASE FOR SEVERAL DAYS FOLLOWING THE ACCIDENT, SHE HAD HEADACHES AND SWELLING AT THE POINT OF CONTACT WITH A BLACK AND BLUE MARK ON HER FOREHEAD THE SECOND TIME. SHE TOOK MEDICATION TO RELIEVE THE HEADACHES AND APPLIED ICE PACKS TO REDUCE THE SWELLING OF HER HEAD. WHILE MY WIFE IS OK NOW, SHE COULD HAVE BEEN MORE SERIOUSLY HURT BY THIS POORLY DESIGNED CAR FEATURE. THIS REPRESENTS A SAFETY HAZARD IN THE AUTOMOBILE. *TR
E350 SPORT MODEL W/ 18 INCH AMG WHEELS AND LOW PROFILE TIRES. JAN 19 I HIT A POTHOLE ON A BUSY BRIDGE DURING RUSH HOUR. MY 5TH BLOWOUT OF A FRONT TIRE ON THE SAME CAR. NARROWLY MISSED HITTING A TRACTOR TRAILER AS MY CAR SWERVED AS THE TIRE RAPIDLY DEFLATED. TWO TIRES WERE REPLACED IN THIS INCIDENT BECAUSE A REAR TIRE HAD A SIDEWALL BUBBLE DEVELOP AFTER HITTING THE POTHOLE.. ONE AMG BENT RIM WAS REPLACED.THIS IS NOT A COMPLAINT REVOLVING AROUND THE COST. I HAVE A TIRE AND WHEEL WARRANTY THAT COVERS ME FOR THE COST OF THESE BLOWOUTS. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE. I MUST POINT OUT THAT WHILE CHANGING THE TIRE I WATCHED HUNDREDS OF VEHICLES HIT THE SAME POTHOLE AND NOT ONE GOT A BLOW OUT UNTIL ALONG COMES ANOTHER E350 WHO HIT THE POTHOLE AND BLEW OUT THE DRIVER SIDE FRONT AND REAR TIRES. I SUFFERED TWO BLOWOUTS WITH THE SAME TIRES ON MY PREVIOUS 2012 E350. THE TIRES IN QUESTION ARE CONTINENTAL CONTICONTACT PRO. I AM ONLY CONCERNED WITH MY SAFETY AND THE SAFETY OF OTHER MERCEDES E350 OWNERS AND OTHER DRIVERS WHO COULD BE INJURED OR KILLED BY A MERCEDES E350 LOSING CONTROL IN A BLOWOUT. MERCEDES BENZ USA CUSTOMER CARE WOULD NOT ACKNOWLEDGE ANY PROBLEM. IN MY HUMBLE OPINION THIS PROBLEM REPRESENTS A MAJOR SAFETY PROBLEM FOR THIS VEHICLE. MERCEDES BENZ IS BURYING THEIR HEAD IN THE SAND AND HOPING THE COMPLAINERS WILL JUST GO AWAY.IT WILL TAKE DEATHS, IF THEY HAVE NOT ALREADY OCCURRED, TO BRING THIS TO THE FOREFRONT. WAS DRIVING ON 95N AROUND 65 MPH WHEN VEHICLE LOSES POWER !!! I WAS IN THE LEFT HAND LANE AND TRAFFIC WAS FLOWING. IT WAS BY THE GRACE OF GOD THAT I MADE IT TO THE RIGHT SHOULDER WITHOUT CAUSING A MAJOR ACCIDENT FOR MYSELF AS WELL AS FOR OTHER VEHICLES. THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND THE ANTI SKID AND ANTI SKID OFF LIGHTS CAME ON ALSO IT SAID CONSULT OWNERS MANUAL. THE VEHICLE IS BRAND NEW AND I NEVER WANT TO DRIVE IT AGAIN!!!. AFTER I STOPPED I CUT THE VEHICLE OFF AND RESTARTED THE VEHICLE TO TRY AND GET HOME. ON THE WAY HOME IT DID IT THREE MORE TIMES. I COULD HAVE KILLED MYSELF AND MY DAUGHTER ALSO WHO EVER ELSE WAS ON THE ROAD. ONCE I GOT HOME I WAS REALLY PISSED AFTER READING ABOUT ALL THE OTHER BENZ OWNERS THAT HAD THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM. DRIVING THE CAR AT 45 MPH AND THE DISPLAY MESSAGES COME ON THAT STATED, "PRE SAFE FUNCTIONS LIMITED, INOPERATIVE" IN ADDITION, THE ESP AND ABS WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE LOSES POWER AND HAS VERY LIMITED ACCELERATION. IT HAS OCCURRED TWICE, ONCE ON CITY ROAD AND ONCE ON HIGHWAY AT 55 MPH. SHUTTING AND RESTARTING THE CAR ELIMINATES THE PROBLEM FOR THE TIME BEING. IF THIS HAPPENS AGAIN AND I AM UNABLE TO PULL OVER SAFELY, IT WILL BE A LIFE-THREATENING EMERGENCY. I WILL BE REAR-ENDED AT HIGH SPEEDS BY TRAFFIC BEHIND ME. AFTER THE FIRST INCIDENT, I TOOK IT TO DEALER AND THEY ADJUSTED COMPUTER. THE SAME EXACT THING HAPPENED JUST 4 DAYS LATER. DRIVING ON HIGHWAY WHEN ABRUPTLY CAR SLOWED DOWN (LOST CRUISE CONTROL), HEARD AN INSTRUMENT SOUND AND NOTICED AMBER WARNING LIGHT ON INSTRUMENT PANEL "ACTIVE BLIND SPOT ASSIST INOPERATIVE", "ACTIVE LANE KEEPING ASSIST INOPERATIVE" "HISTRIONIC PLUS INOPERATIVE", "PRE-SAFE INOPERATIVE" - THESE WARNINGS CYCLED REPEATEDLY. LASTED 45-60 SECONDS, THEN EVERYTHING RETURNED TO NORMAL. INCIDENT HAS OCCURRED ON 5 SEPARATE OCCASIONS. HAVE HAD CAR LOOKED AT FOR THIS TWICE AND THEY CAN'T FIND ANYTHING WRONG TO EXPLAIN IT. *TR
CRUISING AT 65 MPH THE ESC LIGHTS CAME ON AND THE CAR LOST POWER. IT NO LONGER RESPONDED TO THE ACCELERATOR AND REQUIRED THAT YOU PULL OFF THE ROAD, COME TO A STOP, AND RESTART THE CAR. THIS SAME PROBLEM HAS HAPPENED 3 MORE TIMES ONCE AT 35 MPH ON A STRAIGHT ROAD; ONCE AT ABOUT 20 MPH MAKING A TURN AND AGAIN CRUISING ON AN EXPRESSWAY AT ~50 MPH. THIS IS AN EXTREMELY DANGEROUS DEFECT, SINCE A FAILURE OF THIS TYPE WHEN ENTERING A HIGHWAY OR TRYING TO OVERTAKE ANOTHER VEHICLE COULD CAUSE A HIGH SPEED ACCIDENT, RESULTING IN SERIOUS INJURIES OR FATALITIES. STARTED IGNITION, IDLE FOR ABOUT 3 MINS WARMING UP THE ENGINE. PREPED TO LEAVE TO CURRENT DESIGNATION. REVERSE, PULLING OUT TO THE RIGHT I TURN MY STEERING WHEEL ALL THE WAY TO THE RIGHT, CAR SHUTS OFF, ALL LIGHTS APPEAR ON THE DASH. TURN OFF AND RESTARTED. AND CONTINUE TO DRIVE IN REVERSE REPEATING THE STEERING TO THE RIGHT... CAR STALLS AGAIN.... I FINALLY MAKE IT HOME BECAUSE I WAS NOT SURE IF THE CAR WAS SAFE TO DRIVE. I PARKED, TURNED ALL THE WAY TO THE RIGHT MADE A WEIRD IDLE NOISE MAYBE 4X LOUDER THEN STANDARD BUT DEEPER. AND BOOM STALLS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE TRAVELING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE PASSENGER FRONT TIRE BLEW OUT. UPON INSPECTION, IT WAS FOUND THAT ALL OF THE TIRES HAD BLISTERS ON THE SIDEWALL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A PRIVATE MECHANIC WHO CONFIRMED THE FAILURE. THE TIRES WERE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE DOT NUMBERS WERE UNAVAILABLE. THE TIRE AND VEHICLE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 3,900.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 3,000.
PIN POINT INDENTATION BELOW PASSENGER SIDE WIPER DEVELOPED INTO A 15 INCH WINDSHIELD CRACK. LOCATION OF THE INDENTATION MADE IT IMPOSSIBLE FOR A STONE OR OBJECT TO HIT THE WINDSHIELD THAT FAR BELOW THE HOOD LINE. SUSPECT A DEFECTIVE WINDSHIELD WAS INSTALLED AT THE FACTORY. *TR
MY CLAIM # IS10691110 THE LANE CONTROL DOES NOT FUNCTION CONSISTANTLY. SOMETIMES WHEN YOU CROSS A LINE, THE REAR BRAKE ON THE OPPOSITE SIDE OF THE CAR AUTOMATICALLY APPLIES BRINGING THE CAR BACK TO THE CENTER OF THE LANE, OTHER TIMES IT DOESN'T. I DEMONSTRATED THIS TO THE MAINTENANCE MGR. WITH NO SATISFACTION. I'VE DISCUSSED WITH A CASE MGR ON SEVERAL TIMES, WITH NO SATISFACTION. I'VE WRITTEN THE PRES OF MERCEDES ON TWO OCCASSIONS, WHO REFERRED MY CONCERN BACK TO THE SAME CASE MGR. WHO SAYS IT IS FUNCTIONING AS DESIGNED,IN SPITE OF THE FACT I DEMONSTRATED TO THE DEALER MAINT. SUPERVISOR THAT IT DOESN'T.I ASKED FOR A REGIONAL PERSON TO RIDE WITH ME SO I COULD DEMONSTRATE THE INCONSISTANCY OF THE WAY IT FUNCTIONS. I WAS DENIED MY REQUEST. THIS IS THE 5TH TIRE WITHIN 7 MONTHS ALWAYS IN THE FRONT AND I HAVE REPLACED WITH NEW TRIES.I WENT TO MERCEDES SERVICE AND THERE WERE 9 OTHERS IN THE SERVICE AREA WITH SAME PROBLEM. VERY HOLE OR BUMP THE TIRE EXPLODES, CREATING A DANGEROUS CONDITION OF HAVING TO STOP ABRUPTLY ON A HIGHWAY WITH CARS AND TRUCKS. LAST TIME I WAS IN THE HOV LANE AND HAD TO CROSS THE ENTIRE HIGHWAY TO GET OFF ALMOST GETTING INTO AN ACCIDENT. IT IS TO THE POINT MY WIFE WILL NOT DRIVE THE CAR ANYMORE FOR FEAR OF BEING STUCK ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AT NIGHT OR ON THE HIGHWAY. IN OCTOBER OF 2013 I LEASED A 2014 MERCEDES E350. THE VEHICLE HAD BEEN PARKED OVERNIGHT AT MY HOME ON 12/25/13 AND UPON ENTERING THE VEHICLE ON 12/26/13, I NOTICED A LARGE CRACK EXTENDING APPROXIMATELY 15 INCHES FROM THE BOTTOM OF THE DRIVER'S SIDE WINDSHIELD WIPER AND UP TO THE CENTER PORTION OF THE WINDSHIELD. WHEN I PARKED THE VEHICLE AT MY HOME ON 12/25/13 THIS LARGE 15 INCH CRACK DID NOT EXIST. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE MERCEDES DEALERSHIP ON 12/27/13 AND WAS TOLD THE HUGE CRACK IN THE WINDSHIELD WAS CAUSED BY A SMALL IMPACT, ABOUT THE DIAMETER OF A PENCIL POINT JUST BELOW THE WINDSHIELD WIPER. THE EXTREMELY SMALL PENCIL POINT DIAMETER IMPACT CAUSED THE WINDSHIELD TO DEVELOP THE CRACK OVERNIGHT WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED AT MY HOME, SINCE THE LARGE CRACK DIDN'T EXIST WHEN I LAST EXITED MY VEHICLE AT MY HOME ON 12/25/13. I BELIEVE THAT IF SUCH A SMALL PENCIL POINT SIZED IMPACT AS ALLEGED BY THE DEALER, COULD CAUSE SUCH A LARGE CRACK TO DEVELOP OVERNIGHT WHILE MY VEHICLE WAS PARKED AT MY HOME, THE WINDSHIELD ITSELF IS DEFECTIVE AND THE WEAKNESS OF THE E350 WINDSHIELD POSES A SERIOUS SAFETY HAZARD. *TR

DEALERSHIP REPLACED MULTIPLE SETS OF SEAT BELT HEIGHT ADJUSTER AS WELL AS SEAT BELT ASSEMBLY. ISSUES RETURNS WITHIN A WEEK OF REPAIRS. HIGHLY CONCERNED WITH THE RELIABILITY OF THIS VEHICLE'S SAFETY EQUIPMENT. *TR
THE VEHICLE WAS SERVICED ON 11/27/13. ON 12/2/13 PULLING AWAY FROM A STOP SIGN THERE WAS A LOUD POP AND SUDDEN DROP TO THE CAR. AFTER GETTING OUT OF THE VEHICLE AND LOOKING TO SEE WHAT HAD HAPPENED WE NOTICED THAT THE WHEEL HAD DETACHED FROM THE CAR. POLICE WERE NOTIFIED RIGHT AWAY BECAUSE THE VEHICLE WAS STILL IN THE ROAD. MERCEDES BENZ EMBRACE WAS NOTIFIED DIRECTLY AFTERWARDS AND INFORMED AS TO WHAT HAD HAPPENED. THE TOW TRUCK DRIVER HAD TO TAKE A BOLT OUT OF EACH REMAINING WHEEL TO RE-ATTACH THE ONE THAT CAME OFF TO LOAD THE VEHICLE ONTO THE FLAT BED. FOUR LUG BOLTS WERE MISSING. WE DID FIND A PIECE OF A BROKEN BOLT LAYING ON THE GROUND NOT FAR FROM THE CAR. THE CAR WAS TOWED TO THE MERCEDES BENZ IN MEMPHIS. I THINK THIS IS A SERIOUS DEFECT AND SHOULD BE THOROUGHLY INVESTIGATED TO SAVE THE LIFE OF OTHER DRIVERS, HAD THIS HAPPENED TO ME ON THE INTERSTATE WERE I WOULD HAVE BEEN DRIVING AT THE SPEED OF 70 MPH ALL OF US SITTING IN THE CAR WOULD HAVE BEEN DEAD AND NO ONE WOULD HAVE BEEN ABLE TO FIND THE CAUSE. CAR EXHIBITS A ROUGH/UNPREDICTABLE SHIFTING AND ACCELERATION AT INTERMITTENT INTERVALS. ISSUE PRESENTS ITSELF AT RANDOM TIMES AND AT RANDOM SPEEDS SO IT IS DIFFICULT TO RECREATE AT WILL. ESPECIALLY DANGEROUS WHEN ATTEMPTING TO PASS OR AVOID HAZARDS AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS; WHEN YOU PRESS ON THE GAS SOMETIMES THERE IS A LONG DELAY BEFORE ACCELERATION BEGINS, AND THEN THE ACCELERATION IS MORE THAN EXPECTED FOR THE ACCELERATOR INPUT. OTHER TIMES THE CAR ACTS NORMALLY AND WILL RESPOND PROPERLY TO ACCELERATOR INPUTS. AT LOW SPEEDS SHIFTS FROM 3 TO 4 AND 4 TO 3 ARE SOMETIMES ABRUPT/ROUGH WHICH IS NOT CONSISTENT WITH A CAR OF THIS CALIBER. THE CAR ALSO HAD A REAR END SHAKE FROM NEW, SO DEALER REPLACED REAR TIRES, AND THEN WHEN SHAKING PERSISTED THEY REPLACED THE FRONT TIRES, BUT THERE IS STILL A NOTICEABLE REAR END SHAKE WHICH THE DEALER ATTRIBUTES TO "ROAD FEEL" DUE TO LOW PROFILE TIRES, BUT I'VE HAD AUTOMOBILES WITH LOW PROFILE TIRES AND I AM A MECHANICAL ENGINEER, SO I KNOW WHAT ROAD FEEL FROM A LOW PROFILE TIRE IS VS SHAKING WHICH WAS CLEARLY PRESENT OTHERWISE THEY WOULD NOT HAVE REPLACED ALL FOUR TIRES. CAR HAS BEEN IN AND OUT OF THE DEALER MULTIPLE TIMES, BUT THE SHAKING, AND TRANSMISSION ISSUES PERSIST. *TR
