On [XXX] I went out and started my car and it said. Power steering was my function so I turned it off and tried it again. And it said the same thing. Power steering malfunction read the owner's menu which I did is said if you can steal it. Drive it to the nearest dealership. You can't park it Well, it was already parked in my driveway. So on June 13th. I had a toll to Feldmann Import in Bloomington MN I hate to think of what would happen if I was driving. Could it cause an accident? They confirmed that it was a problem with the stirring call at first I thought it was a leak. Turns it off that This is electrical steroid. The electronics on this during column went out. The report said it was no can message was received from the unit in 68. VS steering control unit. There was no warning that the power Stern was going to go out. I did have a engine light on, but that was due because of my. Rare radar's being out. That's the best way I can explain it. Rear brake lines rusted out on top of rear subframe which is rusting out and caused immediate brake failure . Our lives and the lives of other were at risk because we were driving on highway and suddenly brakes went to floor and had complete loss of brakes There were no prior warnings no way to prevent this ...i see there is a recall on the subframe but not on the brake lines even though ive now read of this happening to many people
Panoramic Sunroof bonding and bolts loose causing constant horrific cracking/clanking sounds due to shifting of glass. Possible frame and airbag damage, possible glass falling, possible injury/accident/death. Can cause issues with airbags deploying and water leaks. Mercedes mechanic said it's the worst case/noise he has heard in any Mercedes. Same make/year/model has been recalled in other plants. Also, walnut trim has faded tremendously.
The sub frame of this car is being replaced under a warranty extension due to severe rusting and separation creating an extremely unsafe driving condition. It was determined during inspection the rear brake lines were also corroded. This is also due to environmental exposure and substandard materials of construction. Many E classes of the W212 and prior have this concern but Mercedes is not covering the brake lines as part of this warranty. In fact they are charging up to $4000 to replace with the subframe already removed!! This is highly concerning as this is a safety concern that must be covered.
What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? -- sure -- the hard brake line popped open when I used the stop-hold function at a stop light, twice... How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? - brakes had to be pumped the (short - close) drive home Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? -- independent service Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? -- no Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? -- not prior to the failure, right when it popped was when i got the "check your low brake fluid" msg
I had a brake line blowout in my 2015 Benz E350 rear brake line blowout. The rear lines were complete rusted out.
I was driving the car and when applied the breaks noticed that they weren’t working. It was close to be an accident with the car in front of mine, but I was able to maneuver the car. When I stopped noticed that the break fluid container was almost empty and the fluid was leaking under the car. I brought the car to the Mercedes Benz dealership and they said that it was “normal corrosion” that caused the break lines to be totally rusted and leak. They also mentioned that “it was pretty common to happen in those cars during summer”. I had no option but to pay several thousand dollars for the replacement of the rusted and corroded brake lines. It is clear that Mercedes Benz doesn’t care about the safety of the passengers, and even worse, profiting from a defect in the materials that they use for the brake lines. Someone should make Mercedes-Benz recall the cars affected and replace the defective brake lines, free of cost for the owner. Passenger’s safety is not a business!
crankcase ventilation valve continues to fail. I have had it replaced twice in 3 months.
The contact owns a 2015 Mercedes-Benz E400. The contact stated that while the vehicle was parked, the steering wheel material was peeling off. Additionally, the driver’s and passenger’s side window buttons were peeling. The contact stated that the dashboard was bubbling. The vehicle had not been diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline. The failure mileage was approximately 76,000.
The contact owns a 2015 Mercedes-Benz E350. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, the vehicle made abnormally loud cracking sounds. The contact stated that the failure mostly occurred while turning, driving over a bump in the roadway, and while driving on a steep roadway. An independent mechanic inspected the vehicle and determined that the abnormal sound was coming from the sunroof. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact related the failure to an unknown recall. The dealer and the manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 112,000.
Cluster showed inoperative malfunction on the interstate and car accelerator faulted to 2 mph. A Tractor trailer came close to hitting me. Pulled over. Police escorted off and was towed to dealer. They first installed a new gas pedal but did not work. Now they said it is the harness electrical wiring tans the plug connector to the accelerator pedal that needs replacement. There is a bulletin on this with model year 2016-2019 only. They should include 2015 model as well. Very dangerous that could be fatal or seriously injured. This I happened to. 2015 Mercedes E Class.
The contact owns a 2015 Mercedes-Benz E350 equipped with General Tires, Tire Line: Altimax RT43, Tire Size: 245/45/17, DOT Number: 838RWC094518. The contact stated that while driving approximately 30 MPH and making a left turn, the front passenger’s side tire suddenly experienced a blowout. The cause of the failure was not determined. The tire was replaced at the local dealer. The contact later discovered that the rear passenger’s side tire had experienced outer sidewall bubbling. The manufacturer was notified of the failures, but no assistance was offered. The failure mileage was 25,000.
Electric power steering assist failure. Causing power steering to fail making steering very difficult, raising the chance for a crash.
Rear subframe assembly prematurely rust causing failure of the assembly requiring replacement. If not found could cause failure while driving resulting in an accident.
My 2015 E350 with only 40,000 miles was diagnosed to have a rotted and detached rear sub frame . Seems to be a common problem because of defective metal used by the manufacturer. There seems to be a lot of others with same issue I found on the internet . While Mercedes’ Benz has no recall as of yet. While driving on the highway , while at 50 to 60 mph. The car would sway and feel like it was sliding . After hitting the brakes the car would pull drastically to one side . After inspection at my Mercedes Benz dealership they told me that it is completely rotted and broke apart, this is a life safety accident since it could disconnect and hit gas tank and rip apart brake lines. The rear axle would shift and possibly fall out. While driving this car it put my family in complete danger . There were no signs , warning lights etc . That could have made me aware of the severe situation.
The rear subframe of the car (MB E350, 2015 with 81,000 miles) is completely rusted/corroded through creating an unsafe situation where the car pulled left on braking with resultant loss of control of the vehicle as it spun out. The brake lines are adjacent and are also currently being inspected by MB Open Road Service [XXX] in Bridgewater, NJ. It is a miracle we (my three grandchildren, my husband, and/or I) were not involved in a tragic accident. This manufacturing component failure has been widely reported in the USA and worldwide for years with recalls in other countries, but not yet in the USA. I also reported this by phone to MBUSA, but have yet to receive any information or confirmation of the issue in writing. As you can see from the photo (courtesy of Denson's Auto Repair who has seen this issue before), the subframe is completely corroded through. There were no warning lights and I get my vehicle serviced at the dealer every year. The vehicle was thoroughly inspected in January of 2022 for an A type service and no mention was made to me at that time about this dangerous corrosion. This is a material failure and not simply a result of harsh NJ winters with salted roads. I have never seen subframe corrosion failure in any of my cars with far more years and miles on them. The contact owns a 2015 Mercedes-Benz E350. The contact stated while the vehicle was receiving routine maintenance, the mechanic noticed that the subframe was rusted. The dealer stated that the subframe needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was contacted, and the manufacturer stated that the vehicle was not under recall and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline to file a complaint. The failure mileage was 55,000.
Went on a 2000 miles road trip and my blind spot monitoring systems and then my turn signals stopped working.
Purchased new 2015 MB e400 in 12/2014 MB issued a bulliten in 12/15 (1 year later) indicating that the engines may experience a problem with the timing belt harness which may cause engine failure. We have the exact same issue now at 69k miles and MB refuses to acknowledge the issue claiming i need a new engine. I cannot use the car for fear of engine failure which may cause death or serious injury
Headliner bubble up and coming loose thus creating a safety issue because abstract both front and mostly rear visibility while driving. Have this vehicle bought 2 months ago and have develop this condition, making hard to see and drive thus is a serious driving hazard. Contact Mercedes Benz dealer refuses to address the issue as safety hazard and did not repair or replace headliner at my cost of $1,652 plus labor etc. Vehicle has Vehicle dealer various private warranties but according to them it is a cosmetic issue not a safety one. I strongly disagree with them since I can not see mostly from my rearview window back and even the front window have to hold one the liner to move the vehicle (can not drive while holding the liner) Please advice if any service bulletin of this type of issue are affected.
The rear suspension feels like it’s loose and Mercedes Benz dealership says it’s nothing wrong I almost lost control of the car

ORIGINAL CONTINENTAL CONTI PRO CONTACT TIRES (245/40/18) FOR MERCEDES BENZ E350 WITH APPROX. 15,000 MILES ON THEM AND MY TIRE BLEW ON HIGHWAY. AND SIDE RIM OF TIRE HAS BIG CUT.IT WAS AT THE TIME OF TRAFFIC AT 5 PM AND I WAS VERY CLOSE TO HIT SIDEWALL OF HIGHWAY. LAST WEEK AGAIN I DISCOVERED THAT OTHER TWO TIRES CONTINENTAL CONTIPROCONTACT ON SAME CAR HAS A BUBBLE ON THE SIDEWALL. THE BUBBLE IS WITHIN A QUATER TO HALF OF AN INCH TO THE RIM. AFTER A DAY ONE TIRE WAS FLAT AND BIG CUT I SEE AT SAME PLACE WHERE BUBBLE WAS. I CALLED MERCEDEZ BENZ AS MY CAR IS STILL UNDER WARRANTY AND I WAS TOLD THAT IT HAS HAPPENED BECAUSE OF POTHOLE AND YOU HAVE TO REPLACE ALL THE 4 TIRES. I ONLY DRIVE CAR FOR WORK AND I NEVER HIT POTHOLE IT LOOKS LIKE THERE IS MANUFACTURING DEFECT WITH TIRE. I AM SORRY TO SAY THAT EVEN CAR IS UNDER WARRANTY MERCEDES IS NOT DOING ANYTHING AND THERE IS NO RECALL ON TIRE. I HAVE NOTICED MANY PEOPLE COMPLAINING ABOUT BUBBLE ISSUE WITH THE TIRE. CONTINENTAL TIRE SHOULD BE TAKING CARE OF THE TIRE AS IT ONLY HAS 15K MILES
I PURCHASED A PRE-CERTIFIED 2015 MERCEDES-BENZ E350 4MATIC SPORT WITH 19,550 MILES ON 3/9/18. WITHIN THE FIRST 175 MILES DRIVEN I HAVE EXPERIENCED A FLAT TIRE FROM COMPLETE SIDEWALL FAILURE IN ONE TIRE (WHICH WAS A NEWER, NON-ORIGINAL) AND TWO SIDEWALL BUBBLES ON TWO OF THE OTHER ORIGINAL TIRES. THE SIDEWALL FAILURE WAS DUE TO HITTING A SMALL POTHOLE WHILE THE BUBBLES SEEM TO HAVE BEEN CAUSED BY NORMAL DRIVING. THE TIRES ARE CONTIPROCONTACT 245/40R18 WHICH SEEM TO HAVE COMMON SIDEWALL ISSUES FROM THE COMPLAINTS. FOR SAFETY CONCERNS I HAVE ORDERED MICHELIN PILOT SPORT A/S 3+, SO WILL BE OUT AROUND $1,000 (PLUS THE $255 COST OF REPLACING THE FIRST BLOWN CONTIPROCONTACT, WHICH HAS ABOUT 50 MILES ON IT, BUT I DO NOT FEEL SAFE DRIVING ON IT).

SINCE WE HAVE HAD THIS VEHICLE (2017) WE HAD COME TO HEAR A LOUD CRACKING OF THE PANO ROOF WHEN TURNING (SAY FROM A GAS STATION OR SIDE SHOP) AND OVER THE YEARS IT HAS BECOME LOUDER AND LOUDER UNTIL IT IS CONSTANT. IT IS SUCH THAT WE HEAR IT ALL THE TIME IN WARM/HOT WEATHER (LIKE NOW, AT THE TIME OF REPORTING); DISCUSSIONS AND RESEARCH HAS TOLD US IT IS A SERIOUS PROBLEM IN THAT THE ROOF COULD GIVE WAY (ALBEIT, EXPLODE?). ARE THEIR ANY TSB BULLETINS ON THIS ISSUE? THANK YOU FOR YOUR CONSIDERATION OF THIS MATTER. COLLISION AVOIDANCE SYSTEM (PRESAFE PLUS) FAILED TO WARN (AS ADVERTISED BY MBUSA) OF AN IMMINENT REAR END COLLISION ON AN EXPRESSWAY. THE SYSTEM IS SUPPOSED TO PROVIDE AN AUDIBLE WARNING SIGNAL BASED ON THE RATE OF CHANGE OF THE CLOSING DISTANCE BETWEEN MB AND A VEHICLE IN FRONT. MOREOVER, IF THE DRIVER IGNORES THE WARNING SIGNAL, THE MB IS SUPPOSED TO APPLY BRAKES AUTOMATICALLY. NEITHER OF THESE TWO EVENTS TOOK PLACE, RESULTING IN A REAR END COLLISION. THE HIGHWAY BEFORE AND AT THE POINT OF COLLISION WAS STRAIGHT WITH NO CURVES. AFTER COLLISION DAMAGE REPAIR BY AN MB DEALERSHIP AND ASSURANCE FROM THE DEALER THAT THE SAFETY SYSTEMS WERE OPERATIONAL, I TESTED THE VEHICLE MULTIPLE TIMES BY DRIVING THE MB INTO A VARIETY OF LARGE BOXES THE FRONTS OF WHICH WERE COVERED WITH METALLIC FOIL. ALL TESTS FAILED TO PROVIDE BOTH AN AUDIBLE WARNING AS WELL AS AUTOMATIC BRAKING (SEE WWW.YOUTUBE.COM/WATCH?V=6_D9A_AXAV4 FOR ONE EXAMPLE OF TEST). MBUSA ADVERTISING IN 2015 TOUTED THESE SAFETY FEATURES ON TV AND YOUTUBE VIDEOS. WHAT WAS MISSING FROM THESE INFOMERCIALS IS INFORMATION ON THE RELIABILITY OF THESE "SAFETY" SYSTEMS (I.E., WHAT IS THE PROBABILITY THAT THE SYSTEM WILL FUNCTION AS ADVERTISED). I SUSPECT THAT THIS PROBABILITY IS QUITE LOW, AND IF SO, THIS FACT SHOULD HAVE BEEN PROVIDED TO THE CONSUMER. ALSO, IF MY EXPERIENCE WITH THE ACTUAL ACCIDENT AND MY ADDITIONAL TESTING IS ANY INDICATION OF RELIABILITY, MERC3DES BENZ VEHICLES INCORPORATING PRESAFE PLUS SHOULD BE SUBJECTED TO A NHTSA RECALL.
