Today at 1/27/25 630 pm my vehicle caught fire.i was told that the vehicle was subject to the Active Curve System (Recall 18V272) and Fuel Pump (Recall 23V010).
As we were driving 50mph, the car stalled and lost all power. The dashboard lights all lit up and the car wouldn't start. I don't get unnerved easily and it was fairly intense not being able to move your car out of traffic. After about 5 mins, the car would start again only to stop a minute or so later. After taking the car to the dealer, the issue stemmed from the fuel pump electronics board getting wet in the spare tire wheel well where water was accumulating. This was part of the recall and the dealer installed a drain and replaced the board. HOWEVER, this issue again happened nearly one year later in our next rainy season. After taking it to the dealer, they said WE would need to replace the electronics board ourselves. We asked about the recall and they said they fixed the issue by installing the drain plug and there was nothing else they could do for us. Even the service adjuster was upset and very sympathetic to our plight as the car was obviously not fixed. Even though the drain plug was installed, the water was still acumulating in the wheel well. It seems apparent to me, and several others who have complained about the same issue, that the recall fix has not addressed the main issue of why the water is coming in and why it's still not draining. Unfortunately we're going to have to fork over 1200 to have it fixed. My ask to the NHTSA is that this issue be readdressed with Mercedes. I would like them to be notified that the recall does not address the underlying issues and the solution they provided does not fix the problem. I appreciate your time in considering this.
It seems that this vehicle was not included in a brake booster recall which included this model from 2005 through 2015. The brakes are not working properly, and brake fluid has entered the master brake cylinder damaging the seal. It is extremely unsafe to operate this vehicle in this condition. Somehow, this vehicle was not included in the recall, but definitely should have been.
Driver side airbag malfunction without notice .serious bodily injury incase of an accident.
The contact owns a 2014 Mercedes-Benz ML350. The contact stated that upon starting the vehicle, the blind spot warning light illuminated. The contact was unable to identify if another vehicle was nearby. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who determined that the blind spot detection system was inoperative. The local dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was approximately 170,001.
I purchased a used Mercedes-Benz from Freehold Mitsubishi in early 2024. Within hours, serious safety issues appeared, including a check engine light, cylinder misfire, EVAP leak, traction control failure, and blind spot assist malfunction. The vehicle’s ECM and wiring harness were later found damaged due to oil leaks and electrical shorts. Despite multiple repair attempts, the vehicle was returned in worse condition and remains unsafe to drive. I am reporting these issues due to their potential risk to vehicle safety.
I purchased four brand new "GoodYear" tires with this location in February 2024. Within two months of this purchase, I experienced two flat tires in which both times I had to pay $87 and some change. Addtionally, within a year, two of the tires became bald, indicating premature wear. Tragically, this month, the bald tires contributed to a car accident, resulting in damages of my vehicle and loss of time from work. This incident has caused significant distress and has raised serious concerns about the quality of the tires and the services provided from this location. I have attempted to resolve this matter directly with the service center and cooperate office. To this day, no adequate response has been addressed to resolve my concerns. I'm glad to live to be able to tell my story and advocate for others!!! Tire Size 255/50R19`
Vehicle failed oil consumption test. Vehicle has been leaking and/or losing oil for months despite the issue being alleged fixed under NHTSA recall 18V272. The issue is ongoing and Mercedes Jacksonville is claiming the oil leak is from another issue not covered under warranty or recall order. I do not believe they are unrelated and they have not been able to identify the exact issue.
I purchased a new vehicle from the dealer in 2014 in 2019 the wood grain trim cracked. I had this replaced by the dealer in 2019. Now again, in 2024, the same issue the wood grain has cracked. This should not be happening every few years.
The contact owns a 2014 Mercedes-Benz ML350. The contact stated while the vehicle was idling in the driveway, the vehicle stalled. The contact stated that AAA added fuel to the vehicle, and the vehicle was able to restart and operated as needed. The contact stated that the vehicle was taken to the dealer for the recall repair of NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V955000 (Fuel System, Diesel, Fuel System, Gasoline), and the dealer installed a water drain plug on the vehicle. The contact stated that the check engine warning light was later intermittently illuminated. The vehicle was taken to Complete Performance, where it was diagnosed with fuel pressure failure. The contact replaced the gas cap; however, the failure persisted. Additionally, the contact stated while driving 45 MPH, the vehicle stalled while there was sufficient fuel in the fuel tank. The contact was able to pull over to the side of the road. The vehicle was able to restart after fuel was added to the vehicle. An unknown dealer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the fuel pump was not previously replaced during the recall repair of NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V955000( Fuel System, Diesel, Fuel System, Gasoline). The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 60,000.
The contact owns a 2014 Mercedes-Benz ML350. The contact stated that while driving at 35 MPH and accelerating above 40 MPH, the vehicle failed to accelerate above 40 MPH before it lost automotive power. The vehicle was driven back to the residence. The vehicle was diagnosed by the dealer, and the failure was associated with NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V955000 (FUEL SYSTEM, DIESEL, FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE); however, the VIN was not associated with the recall repair. The vehicle was repaired out of pocket. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 115,000.
The contact owns a 2014 Mercedes-Benz ML350. The contact had received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V955000 (Fuel System, Diesel, Fuel System, Gasoline). The vehicle was taken to a dealer and the recall repair was performed. Soon after the recall repair, while the contact's wife was driving 25 MPH, the vehicle stalled. The contact was unaware if any warning lights had illuminated during the failure. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic where it was discovered that there was moisture in the spare tire wheel well. The moisture damaged the fuel pump control unit which was linked to the recall. The contact attempted to reach the manufacturer but was unsuccessful. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer but was not repaired and remained in dealer possession. The failure mileage was unknown.
ML350 engine stalled while driving on an expressway and would not turn back on. ML350 needed to be towed where it was determined that water accumulated in the spare tire wheel well, leading to the fuel pump short circuiting. This is directly related to NHTSA campaign 22V955000. That recall repair was completed prior to this incident. Per the technician, the recall repair installed a water drain plug to prevent the water accumulation. This repair effectively failed - the drain plugs malfunctioned and were not allowing water to drain. MBUSA deny’s responsibility for the failing drain plug - stating that the trunk weatherstripping is the root cause, not the failing drain plug. This is an unacceptable response and worth of the recall being expanded. The fuel pump control unit can still short out if MBUSA’s poor excuse of a recall fix fails as it did with mine.
I purchased my car used at the Mercedes dealership in Tyler Texas June 2023. I took all my savings and paid cash and was told that the car was impeccable shape and there were no current issues and all the service records were up to date. November 2023 is when everything started happening and my engine light came on. It was revealed to me by a service tech that I was sold the vehicle with an existing major oil leak /seals broke. Etc. SEE Attached invoices. I have endured driving down the road and my car just giving out and losing power steering. The car has been sputtering and there have been misfires, fauled fuel injectors, coils, s and spark plugs, oil leaks, fuel pump leaking gasoline in the engine and smoke coming from the hood. I thought my car was going to start on fire it smelled like a hot electrical wires and gasoline. My nerves are frayed from this car because of how many times it has broke down. I have missed work because of the car, I'm behind on my home bills, I missed my airline flight to see my sick father, I have had to pay for rental cars, all due to this vehicle. I am very concerned for my safety in this vehicle and I would like the vehicle fixed at the expense of Mercedes or my money back. Thank you, [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
I bought my vehicle into Mercedes Benz for a recall related to water collection in spare tire well which can cause a fuel pump control malfunction, NHTSA recall # 22V955. A few days ago, my vehicle could not start and I found water in my spare tire well. My OBD scanner tells me it is related to the fuel pump. I informed Mercedes Benz and they would not fix it. Obviously the work performed did not correct the recall. I'm writing here hoping I can get connected to the right channel to get this resolved as my vehicle is currently unusable. Thanks.
Blind spot assists and turn signals go out without warning. This model should have been included in the previous recall for timing. Having the same issues as other recalled cars.
See attached document for complaint
Traveling on my way home from Arizona and as my back was hurting turned on heated seats…I also had air conditioning running due to dogs in back seat…I started noticing what felt like a pinching sensation where my butt and legs meet…Stopped thr car at next rest area and noticed butt really hurt when I slid out of car…felt back there and area and hurt like heck..got into my Rv that a friend was driving and looked at it!! 2nd degree blisters/burns from heated seats!! I thought “what the heck?”as I didn’t have any marks on the seat!! Clearly the temperature spiked and causes the burns!’ I looked it up and see that MB has had a long history of this…and major litigation. But no recall!! I have pictures!! (But for obvious reasons can’t send here) I had a miserable ride home and the pain continues! It is embarrassing but I want to make sure other unsuspecting people don’t have this happen! Plus, I want it fixed…!
I am writing in regards to my 2014 ML 350 Suv. The check engine light came on and upon taking it to the mercedes dealership, I was told the issue is that the camshaft adjusters have failed and need to be replaced. The cost quoted is over $11,000 to repair. Upon further investigation I found reports on multiple lawsuits for the Mercedes C series for the same year (2012-2014) that resulted also in a recall whereby customers were given a recall to replace at no charge the camshaft adjusters up to 120k miles. My car only has 83k and I am told by two independent mechanics that the camshaft adjuster should not be failing like this and that this has been an ongoing issue with Mercedes. The safety issue is that I am told by independent mechanics that what could happen over time is that I could be driving and the entire engine/power just shuts off. This could even happen at high speeds on the highway. The mercedes dealer tells me there is no safety issues that could result from camshaft adjuster problems which doesn't appear to be true as per the other independent mechanics. I request further investigation into this issue because as per the independent mechanics its the "same engine" as the 2012-2014 that are under the recall . I'm requesting a recall on this for my car that Mercedes pays for. This should not be failing especially in a car with only 83k on it . If the C series 2012-2014 received recall on this part then I also think my ML 350 should be covered. Mercedes customer service tells me they cannot pay for the repair, they said I could file complaint for recall through NHTSA Thank you .
Known defect with timing issues that give code P0016. All cars should be part of this recall regardless of mileage on a known defect. This repair is extremely expensive and wouldn’t be needed if built correctly.

The turn indicators stop working suddenly and randomly giving inaccurate/false indication to the driver of the vehicle that indicators are turned on and no indication of turn signal to the other drivers that can be hazardous especially at the 4 way stop signs where other drivers are assuming that vehicle is going straight where as the vehicle is intending to turn left but it is doing it without the indicator due to sudden failure of turn signal indicators and during lane changing. The hazard warning continues to work just fine and the turn indicator functions return to normal after turning the ignition off and back on. The occurrence of turn indicator failure is quiet often and has no set pattern.
The contact owns a 2014 Mercedes-Benz ML350. The contact stated that while at a stop light, the vehicle lost motive and electric power and stalled without warning. The contact restarted the vehicle, but the vehicle failed to remain running. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic and the contact was informed that water had intruded into the rear of the vehicle causing electrical failures. The vehicle was not repaired because the Insurance Company deemed the vehicle a total loss. The manufacturer was contacted but offered no assistance. The failure mileage was 60,000. The contact stated that the interior of the vehicle has to be dried out first in order to assess the damage to the electrical system. The contact noted the failure mileage was 60379.
The contact owns a 2014 Mercedes-Benz ML63 AMG. The contact stated that the vehicle was experiencing front suspension, coolant, and oil leak failures. The contact stated that the front suspension unexpectedly lowered while the vehicle was parked or while driving. The message "Active Curve System Malfunction" was displayed. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, where unknown repairs were performed. Additionally, the contact noticed a coolant leak in the garage, where the vehicle was parked. The vehicle was taken to two certified independent mechanics, where unknown repairs were performed; however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where the seals were inspected and corrected, and it was diagnosed that the front left cylinder and the lower and upper radiator hoses were leaking. Additionally, a leak was found at the firewall connection. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer, where the same assessment was made, and the vehicle was repaired; however, the failure persisted. The contact stated while at a complete stop at the red traffic light, the vehicle stalled and failed to restart. The vehicle was pushed into a parking lot with assistance. A warning light for key fob battery drainage was illuminated. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic, where the failure was related to an unknown recall, and the contact was referred to the dealer. The contact stated that the dealer had previously completed the repair of NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V955000 (Fuel System, Diesel, Fuel System, Gasoline); however, the recall repair had failed to fix the vehicle. The vehicle recently stalled and was towed to the dealer, where it remained. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, and the case was escalated to an Executive. The failure mileage was approximately 100,000.
After a weekend of incessant rain, while driving a short distance (10 minutes) , this low-mileage, well-maintained 8 year old SUV suddenly stalled, Engine appeared to have powered down and the yellow Engine light came up and pressing gas pedal didn't do anything. I was fortunately able to press the Power button once frantically and re-start it once more and pull over to the side but the car refused to power on thereafter. After investigations by the shops, it appears there was water leaking "through" the body of the vehicle and into the area below the interior of the car, short circuiting Fuel Driver and stalling the car (which they subsequently repaired after draining the water and replacing/re-programming the fuel pump driver) before handing it off for the leak identification work. The car was subsequently taken to a specialist shop to figure out the leak, and they are unable to identify any reasonable source of the water leak and insurance is so far claiming this is "wear and tear". In the course of the testing, the *same* issue happened again and the car stalled while driven by the shop personnel and they could hear the sound of water inside the cabin all the way up to the front. They are unable to identify the source(s) of the leak and at this point, the car has been unusable for over 4 weeks as Insurance continues to push back and the shop can't do the additional work to identify the source in the body without insurance approval. I made attempts to contact the manufacturer but their only available contact is their Customer Support (no email/chat option) who refused to discuss this as it didn't pertain to them directly and re-directed me to talk to my own insurance company. I even reached out via Twitter but got no response. This expensive luxury SUV is not just unreliable at this point but *dangerous* where there are mysterious water leaks under natural conditions like rain leading to car stalling while in motion.
The contact owns a 2014 Mercedes-Benz ML350. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, the vehicle hesitated while accelerating and sometimes sputtered before accelerating. The contact stated that there was water inside the spare tire wheel well. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer to be repaired under NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V955000 (Fuel System, Gasoline, Fuel System, Diesel). During the recall repair the water drainage plug was installed but the fuel pump was not replaced even though the vehicle had experienced the failure listed in the recall. The manufacturer was notified of the issue but no assistance was offered. The failure mileage was 185,000.
The seals on oil cooler fail which causes leaks Oil dropping on roadway or oil leaking in engine compartment can cause a fire.
55,000 Miles now Engine shuts off while driving and steering wheel locks engine light comes on, we have had this problem starting at about 30,000 miles. They first said it was sensors which we replaced several times thousands of dollars later still have problem. It is currently at dealer for a month now and they told us we need a whole engine harness replaced for $11,000 but can't be sure this is the problem. Has anyone else had these problems please contact me [XXX]. [XXX] IL INFORMATION Redacted PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).
The oil fuel line is leaking on the engine this is currently a recall on my year and model suv
Campaign no. 2012070002 SB-10048279-4718 Same solenoid leaking issue onto wiring harness for my 2014 Mercedes ML350 need this to be initiated because mercedes is at fault for not fixing this issue in 2006-2012 now still issue in 2014.
The contact owns a 2014 Mercedes-Benz ML350. The contact stated while his wife driving 75 MPH, the steering malfunction warning light was illuminated and the steering wheel was difficult to turn at slower speeds. The driver was able to park on the side road for 20 minutes before restarting the vehicle to drive to her destination. The contact called the local dealer and was informed to replace the battery. The contact took the vehicle to the local dealer and had the battery replaced. The vehicle was repaired but experienced the failure for a second time. The contact called the local dealer and made them aware of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 20,000.
Other that other 2014 ml350 have a recall for oil leaking from the reserve. Seems like my vehicle is affected by this issue as well, oil leak when low
After driving the car, the right/left turn signal switch fails to work (no signal is given both in the panel of the car and the external turn signal lights do not flash). However, the emergency flashers still work. I have searched the issue and found many occurrences on the Internet. Such a common issue should be a manufacturing quality issue and deserves a recall.
Instrument Cluster malfunction. Battery drained and replaced. 2.5 weeks later, the new battery drained. After the vehicle was jumpstarted, the instrument cluster remained on with SOS inoperable showing on the panel. The instrument cluster will not turn off, even after the vehicle has been turned off. So it continues to drain the battery. Mercedes has diagnosed the vehicle with a bad instrument cluster and says that it needs to be replaced. There were no warning signs before the malfunction. I drove it and parked it. Then two days later the battery was dead. 10.19.21 - took vehicle to Mercedes for a regular schedule B service 10.21.21 - vehicle battery was dead after trying to crank it. 10.22.21 - Mercedes sent tow truck to bring it back to them. The battery was replaced on 10.25.21 and I picked up the vehicle. 11.10.21 - Vehicle NEW battery was dead again. Mercedes sent tow truck. The tow truck driver jumpstarted the vehicle and couldn't get the vehicle into neutral. Then the SOS inoperable message appeared. Vehicle was towed to Mercedes and diagnosed the next day (11.11.21) with a bad instrument cluster. Apparently there are no new instrument clusters available in the world, according to Mercedes, they are on backorder. And I cannot get a loaner vehicle. So they'd like for me to be without a vehicle for the foreseeable future.
[XXX] obtained his vehicle from Saint Clair Shores Michigan Mercedes-Benz dealership. The dealership performed recall services, checked tires and brakes. Vehicle was inspected by dealership and released to owner. Owner drove vehicle approximately 20 minutes and tire flew off vehicle onto roadway, resulting in accident. The incident happened in Clinton Township Michigan No reported injuries. Safety equipment worked on vehicle and prevented any significant injuries. INFORMATION Redacted PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).
3 electrical related issues within a few months. 1. Blind spot and Lane Departure warning come on and off while driving. 2. Blind spot yellow light comes on the side mirrors while applying break 3. This week the turn signal periodically stop working and each time have to stop kill engine and start engine again to reset but reset only last for a while.
IN MY NEIGHBORHOOD APPROACHING A STOP SIGN ABOUT 20 YARDS AWAY. THE CAR ALL OF A SUDDEN ACCELERATED AT A HIGH RATE OF SPEED. I WAS GOING TOO FAST TO MAKE THE RIGHT TURN AND THE BRAKES DID NOT STOP THE CAR. I ENDED UP RUNNING THROUGH THE STOP SIGN UP AN INCLINE AND INTO THE WOODS HITTING MULTIPLE TREES BEFORE COMING TO A STOP. THIS CAUSED OVER $18,000 DAMAGE TO THE VEHICLE (NOT INCLUDING DAMAGE TO THE UNDER CARRIAGE). NOT ONLY WAS THIS PRETTY FRIGHTENING BUT WHAT COULD HAVE HAPPENED IF I WASN'T IN MY NEIGHBORHOOD WHEN THIS TOOK PLACE COULD HAVE KILLED SOMEBODY. IT REALLY SHOOK ME UP. THANK GOODNESS THERE WERE NO KIDS AT THE BUS STOP. I WAS ALSO SURPRISED THAT THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THE INSURANCE COMPANY TOTALED THE CAR SO NO ONE REALLY SEEMS TOO CONCERNED ABOUT THE CAUSE OF THE UNINTENDED ACCELERATION THAT TOTALED MY CAR WHILE DRIVING IN MY OWN NEIGHBORHOOD! THIS SHOULD NOT HAVE HAPPENED. I HOPE SOMEONE WILL CARE ENOUGH TO TRY AND DETERMINE WHAT HAPPENED SO THIS DOESN'T HAPPEN TO SOMEONE ELSE.
2014 ML350 TRANSMISSION FAILURE AT 105,000 MILES HAD PROBLEMS WITH TRANSMISSION SINCE 75,000 MILES. BOUGHT NEW.
Every time I turn on my AC it’s stink though Mercedes is recalling AC with mildew in it.. It’s been 3 years, I’ve waited..
RIGHT PASSENGER TURBO FAILED AFTER 50,000 MILES SEVERAL THOUSAND DOLLARS TO FIX
The contact owns a 2014 Mercedes- ML 350. The contact stated the panoramic roof tracking was shaking and moving slowly. There were no warning indicator lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer but the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was approximately 59,000.
REAR TAILGATE OPENED WITHOUT BEING OPERATED AS I WAS ENTERING GARAGE. REAR WINDOW HIT GARAGE TRIM AND BROKE. THIS HAD HAPPENED BEFORE DRIVING DOWN THE STREET.
NO LIGHT OR WARNING ALARM IF TAILGATE IS OPEN. YOU MAY DRIVE CAR WITH NO LIGHT ON DASHBOARD INDICATING THAT TAILGATE IS OPEN. MAY CRASH TAILGATE AND BREAK THE GLASS IF DRIVE INTO A GARAGE. DROVE CAR INTO GARAGE TO PARK AND CRASHED THE TAILGATE.
TAILGATE OPENS WITHOUT BEING ACTIVATED. WHEN BACKING OF GARAGE TAILGATE CAME OPEN AND HIT GARAGEDOOR OPENING, CAUSING SHEETMETAL TO BEND. THIS HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES.
CAR ENGINE LIGHT ON. TOOK TO SERVICE CENTER. REQUIRED SOFTWARE UPGRADE. COST $275. CAR HAS 26K MILES. THIS SHOULD NOT BE AN EXPENSE TO BUYER BUT SHOULD BE A WARRANTY ISSUE. VERY UNHAPPY WITH MERCEDES-BENZ AND UNLIKELY TO PURCHASE YOU VEHICLE IN THE FUTURE. ALSO, NO OBVIOUS INSTRUCTION FOR CHECKING OIL LEVEL. ANOTHER RUSE BY MERCEDES-BENZ TO WRING ADDITIONAL $$ OUT IF CONSUMERS.
SUNROOF EXPLODING - WAS DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY AT AROUND 70MPH WHEN I HEARD A LOUD BANG. I COULD TELL IT CAME FROM ABOVE AND COULD TELL THE SUNROOF HAD SHATTERED. I CAME TO A SAFE STOP TO INSPECT AND MY SUSPICIONS WERE PROVEN RIGHT. IT HAPPENED SUDDENLY WITHOUT ANY WARNING. THERE WERE NO TRUCKS NEAR ME. NEITHER WAS I DRIVING UNDER AN OVERPASS. THERE WAS NO IMPACT FROM ANYTHING. I HAVE ATTACHED A PHOTO OF THE DAMAGE. I CALLED THE DEALER (MERCEDES BENZ OF HOUSTON NORTH) AND THEY HAVE TOLD ME THAT THEY WERE SORRY TO HEAR THAT AND THAT I WOULD HAVE TO PAY $200 JUST TO GET MY CAR INSPECTED (NOT EVEN REPAIRED). VERY FRUSTRATED AT THE MOMENT.
APRIL 12TH 20018 I GOT IN MY BENZ AND STARTED IT AND ALL THE LIGHTS ON THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER LIGHT UP AND SHOULD GO OF AFTER A FEW SECONDS BUT THE LIGHTS DID NOT GO OF SO I PUT THE CAR IN DRIVE AND THE EMERGENCY BRAKE WILL NOT RELEASE SO I HAD TO PUSH REALLY HARD ON THE BRAKE TO STOP THE CAR I TURNED IT OF AND WAITED A FEW SECONDS AND STRATED IT AGAIN SO THAI CAN REVERSE IT BACK IN THE PARK SPOT HOWEVER WHEN I PUT THE SUN IN REVERSE IT STARTED GOING FORWARD AND ALL THE LIGHTS ARE STILL ON AND THE EMERGENCY BRAKE STILL WILL NOT RELEASE SO I KEEP PUSHING REALLY HARD ON THE BRAKES AND PUT THE SUN IN PARK AND CALL MERCEDES OF SARASOTA FL FOR THE SECOND TIME AFTER A SCARE LIKE THIS MERCEDES SAID THAT THE SUN WAS FINE . WELL AT THIS POINT I WAS FORCED TO GET RID OF MY 4 YEAR OLD SUV BECAUSE I DO NOT TRUST DRIVING IT NO MORE AN SUV THAT I FULLY PAID FOR AND WAS NOT EXPECTING TO HAD TO GET RID OF IT SO SOON .
THE POWER TILT STEERING WHEEL IS LOCKED IN THE UPMOST POSITION WHICH MAKES DRIVING UNCOMFORTABLE AND UNSAFE. I GOOGLED THIS PROBLEM AND THERE ARE HUNDREDS OF MERCEDES BENZ THAT HAVE THIS PROBLEM, NOT JUST THE ML350.
1. IT WAS ON I-15 HIGHWAY NORTH BOUND AROUND 9:44 AM, 2/1/2018. 2. THIS VEHICLE SUDDENLY LOST POWER AND APPLIED BRAKE BY ITSELF ! THAT RESULTED IN DRASTICALLY SPEED DROP IN A VERY SHORT TIME. I TRIED TO GAS IT AND I CAN FEEL ENGINE IS STILL RUNNING, BUT SPEED WAS KEPT DROPPING. 3. I ALMOST HIT BY THE CARS BEHIND ME DURING THE TIME I TRIED TO PULL OVER TO ROAD SIDE. 4. WHEN I FULLY STOPPED ON I-15 ROAD SIDE, ENGINE IS STILL RESPONSIVE (RPM CAN GO UP), BUT THE CAR CAN'T MOVE FORWARD. I TRIED TO RELEASE BRAKE WITH TRANSMISSION STILL IN "D", IT'S FUNNY THAT THIS VEHICLE STARTED TO MOVE BACKWARD (IT WAS A UPHILL SECTION). 5. FINALLY, I TURNED OFF ENGINE AND RESTARTED IT, THE CAR WAS RESTORED IN "NORMAL" STATE. JUST LIKE NOTHING HAPPENED. HOW IRONIC IT IS ! 6. THERE ARE NO WARNING/ERROR LIGHTS ON !!! 7. THIS CAR IS ALREADY IN DEALER FOR 2 WEEKS AND THEY STILL CAN'T FIND THE ROOT CAUSE. I STRONGLY BELIEVE THAT THERE COULD BE DESIGN FLAWS. THIS TIME ME AND THOSE DRIVERS BEHIND ME WERE JUST LUCKY, THERE WAS NOT A SERIOUS ACCIDENT HAPPENED. SOMETHING NEED TO BE DONE BEFORE SOMEONE IS KILLED BY THIS ISSUE. 8. I HAVE DASH CAM VIDEO STORED ON GOOGLE DRIVE. HERE IS THE LINK: HTTPS://DRIVE.GOOGLE.COM/FILE/D/1V67T9EQW3N_I2DTW_L-G7C-EXYBWDKHF/VIEW 9. SPEED UNIT ON VIDEO IS KMH, INSTEAD OF MPH. ALSO, THE TIME ZOOM OF DASH CAM IS NOT PROPERLY SET. THE TIME SHOWN ON THIS VIDEO IS ACTUALLY 16 HOURS AHEAD OF THE LOCAL TIME. BUT IT IS NOT A BIG DEAL HERE. 10. AT 42 SEC OF THIS VIDEO, YOU CAN SEE THE SPEED IS SUDDENLY DROPPED AND CAN ALSO HEAR TIRE SQUEEZING SOUND (CAR APPLIED BRAKE BY ITSELF). 11. THIS CAR CAN'T MOVE FORWARD BY THE ENGINE AT (1'52" ~ 1'55"), (2'34" ~ 2'37") AND (2'54" ~ 2'57"). 12. WITH TRANSMISSION IS STILL IN "D" AND BRAKE RELEASED, THE CAR MOVED BACKWARD BECAUSE IT WAS ON A UPHILL SECTION (2'23" ~ 2'30").
Power Sun ROOF is coming off the tracks of the roof which it is attach to. I feel this is an extreme safety hazard because I believe it will eventually come off my vehicle and cause a serious accident flying into another vehicle or even a pedestrian. This was fixed by Mercedes Benz [ BENZE BUSCH of NJ ] back in to 2018 and now it is doing it again.I Contacted the dealer again about this and they refuse to repair saying Vehicle is out of warranty.I also contacted Mercedes Benz corporate Headquarters and they refuse to acknowledge the problem.Obviously this is a defect in the vehicle. I researched that they have had similar problems with other vehicles SUN ROOF problems and they acknowledge those facts and repaired them. I previously filed a complaint with the NHTSA ID #11478665 but it seems that you didn't have all the facts. Please look into this matter again now that you do. Thank YOU
