The contact stated that while depressing the brake pedal, there was an extensive amount of time between depressing the brake pedal and when the vehicle would come to a stop. Occasionally, the contact had to pump the brake pedal to assist while stopping the vehicle. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V904000 (Service Brakes, Hydraulic,) and the vehicle was repaired; however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who diagnosed the vehicle and determined that the HCU had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The vehicle was taken to another dealer, Ray Skillman Ford (1250 US 31 S, Greenwood, IN 46143), who confirmed the diagnosis. The vehicle was not repaired because the vehicle was no longer covered under the recall. The manufacturer was informed of the failure, and a case was opened. The failure mileage was approximately 166,230.
I have a safety recall I did a yr ago at ford dealership in hazelwood at Saint Louis mo I’m reporting them because they never fixed my recall I waited for my part for a while and I believe they never put it on now my ABS is getting worse and I need a recall to be fixed right
The contact owns a 2006 Mercury Milan. The contact stated while his 16-year-old daughter was driving in traffic and was making a complete stop while she was depressing on the brake pedal, the vehicle failed to stop. The contact stated that his daughter desperately depressed on the brake pedal and felt the brake pedal travel the floorboard but failed to respond causing her to strike the hitch of the vehicle in front of her causing front damage to the vehicle. No major injuries were reported and no police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to the dealer and the contact explained to the dealer that the vehicle experienced the same failure as recall NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V904000 (Service Brakes, Hydraulic), the dealer stated that the VIN was not included in the recall and that there was no failure with the brakes. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure was approximate 150.000.

WHILE DRIVING MY 2006 MERCURY MILAN ON 65MPH HIGHWAY ENGINE STARTED SOUNDING LIKE IT WAS REVING UP. THE SPEED OF THE VEHICLE SLOWED DOWN DRASTICALLY. A SMALL WARNING LIGHT THAT LOOK LIKE A WRENCH CAME ON. AFTER SHUTTING ENGINE OFF I RESTARTED VEHICLE AND MADE IT HOME WITH LIGHT OFF. NOW EACH TIME I START TO DRIVE ANYWHERE WRENCH LIGHT COMES BACK ON AND ENGINE SEEMS TO REV UP AND UNABLE TO INCREASE SPEED. VEHICLE IS ALSO IDLING FAST. I'VE NOTED PER ONINE CONVERSATION THIS IS A COMMON COMPLAINT WITH MERCURY MILAN VEHICLES. UNCERTAIN IF THIS IS RECURRING ISSUE AS I'VE OWNED CAR LESS THAN 30DAYS.

MY CAR DID NOT STOP WHEN BRAKE WAS APPLIED RESULTING IN A CRASH INTO THE CAR THAT WAS IN FRONT OF ME. BOTH CARS WERE GETTING READY TO ENTER THE MAIN ROAD FROM A SIDE STREET. STARTED CAR FOR A DRIVE AFTER OIL CHANGE/ DISCONNECT BATTERY FOR TERMINAL CLEANING AND RECONNECT. UPON ACCELERATION, COULD NOT GET CAR TO SHIFT UNLESS LET OFF GAS. SHIFTS HARD, DID NOT SHIFT 3 AND 4 GEAR UNTIL ACCELERATION OF AT LEAST 55 MPH, THEN 70 IN 4TH GEAR. ON HIGHWAY SEEMED TO WANT TO SLOW DOWN. UPON PARKING, LET IT IDLE. CAR FLASHED ENGINE LIGHT, WRENCH AND CURVY ROAD. IDLING WAS ROUGH, AS IF VACUUM WAS NOT WORKING. TURNED CAR OFF AND THEN ON. WRENCH DISAPPEARED AND CURVY ROAD BUT ENGINE LIGHT ON. CHECKED CODES. ONLY THREW ONE CODE NOT RELATED TO PROBLEM. UNABLE TO DRIVE THIS WAY. SO MANY COMPLAINTS BUT NO RECALLS. NEVER BUYING A FORD AGAIN. LOOKS LIKE TIME FOR FOREIGN CAR.

TAKATA AIRBAG RECALL - I'M BEING TOLD THAT NO PASSENGERS ARE SAFE IN THE FRONT SEAT OF MY CAR UNTIL "FURTHER NOTICE". THIS CAR HAS BEEN IN THE RECALL PROCESS FOR OVER 2 YEARS AND NOW THERE IS NO END IN SIGHT. I CANNOT DRIVE SAFELY, I CANNOT SELL THE CAR AS IT CARRYS A LIABILITY. TAKA RECALL AND THROTTLE BODY WHEN DRIVING THE CAR AT NORMAL SPEED THAN I COME TO A STOP THE CAR WILL NOT EXCEL ANY FASTER THAN 2 OR 3 MILES PER HOUR. OR DRIVING ON HWY IT SLOWS DOWN TO THE SPEED OF 2 OR 3 MILES. CANT USE THE SPEED CONTROL BECAUSE IT PUTS IT INTO THE 2 OR 3 MILES. IF YOU STOP AND TURN OFF CAR IT RESETS IT SELF AND RUNS NORMAL TILL IT DOES IT AGAIN.
TAKATA RECALL - DASH DAMAGE TO AIRBAG AREA WAS NOT REPAIRED AND IS GETTING WORSE BY THE DAY. PLEASE NOTE THAT THE DATE SHOWN BELOW IS THE DATE THAT I EMAILED SUTTON FORD IN MATTESON, ILLINOIS... PICTURES OF THE DASH... IT WAS DAMAGED BEFORE THEY REPLACED THE AIRBAG AND STILL DAMAGED WHEN WE PICKED IT UP... WE WERE TOLD THAT FORD WOULD NOT COVER THE COSTS FOR THE DASH REPAIR WHICH IS CLEARLY CAUSED BY THE AIRBAG.

THE AIR BAG LIGHT WOULD COME ON AND STAY ON FOR A FEW MINUTES. THEN IT WOULD GO OFF. I RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE FOR THE AIRBAGS. I HAD NO IDEA WE HAVE BEEN DRIVING AN UNSAFE CAR FOR 2 YEARS THIS HAPPENED WHILE THE CAR IS MOTION AND WHILE ON IN TOWN STREETS

I AM RETIRED AND ON A FIXED INCOME AND HAD NOT PLANNED TO BUY A CAR. EVEN THOUGH MY CAR IS A 2006, IT STILL DRIVES WELL, HAS NEW TIRES AND A NEW BATTERY. NOW, I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO WITH IT. I DON'T WANT TO SELL IT AND RISK INJURY TO ANOTHER PERSON OR FAMILY. I FEEL LIKE I HAVE BEEN MISTREATED. WAS NOTIFIED BY FORD MOTOR CO 7 MONTHS AGO THAT THERE WAS A SAFETY HAZARD WITH THE AIRBAG SYSTEM AND I WOULD BE NOTIFIED WHEN THE PART WOULD BE AVAILABLE. RECEIVED A 2ND NOTICE RECENTLY TO CONTACT THE DEALER AND NOW THE DEALER SAYS THEY CANNOT ORDER PARTS UNTIL THE TAKATA (AIR BAG MANUFACTURER) BANKRUPTCY IS RESOLVED, POSSIBLY IN THE SPRING OF 2018. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE!!

RECEIVED NASTY FEDEX LETTER FROM FORD TO TAKE IT UP WITH AUTO BETTER BUSINESS IF I HAD A PROBLEM. NOW I RECEIVE LETTER FROM FORD DON'T LET ANYONE RIDE IN PASSENGER SEAT. I HAVEN'T DONE THAT SINCE THE FIRST LETTER. THIS IS A SAFETY VIOLATION. WE NEED A CLASS ACTION SUIT AGAINST FORD.

I'VE CALLED MULTIPLE DEALERSHIPS AND EACH TIME I'VE BEEN TOLD THAT THE PARTS ARE ON BACK ORDER. I'VE READ WHAT CAN HAPPEN IF THE AIRBAG DEPLOYS (E.G., SERIOUS INJURY, DEATH) AND I HAVE TO DRIVE THE CAR EVERY DAY TO WORK, ETC. I HAVE TWO SMALL CHILDREN SO EVERYDAY I PUT MY LIFE AND MY CHILDREN'S LIVES IN JEOPARDY. IT'S A TICKING TIME BOMB, BUT IT ISN'T THEIR LIVES WHO ARE AT STAKE SO THEY DON'T CARE. TO SAY IT'S COMPLETELY FRUSTRATING IS AN UNDERSTATEMENT.
TAKATA RECALL NOW IM BEING TOLD THAT NO PASSENGERS ARE SAFE IN THE FRONT SEAT OF MY CAR UNTIL "FURTHER NOTICE". THIS CAR HAS BEEN IN THE RECALL PROCESS FOR QUITE SOME TIME AND NOW THERE IS NO END IN SIGHT. THIS NEW NOTICE RENDERS MY CAR VALUELESS ON THE OPEN MARKET. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE AND WAS NOT ABLE TO CONFIRM WHEN THE PARTS WERE TO BECOME AVAILABLE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.

TAKATA RECALL: IN DECEMBER 2017 I RECEIVED A LETTER FROM FORD CONSUMER DIVISION ADVISING ME TO NOT LET ANYONE SIT IN THE PASSENGER SIDE SEAT BECAUSE IN CASE OF AN ACCIDENT IT COULD INJURE OR KILL THEM. BUT NO FIX IS AVAILABLE AT THIS TIME.
