TAKATA RECALL - IT HAS BEEN OVER 30 DAYS SINCE THE RECALL AND FORD HAS NOT CONTACTED ME FOR THE CORRECTION OF THIS RECALL NHTSA 16V-384
THE PASSENGER FRONT AIR BAG COVER ON THE DASH IS LIFTING UP ON THE LEFT SIDE AND HAS BEEN LIKE THIS FOR A WHILE. IT LOOKS A LITTLE HIGHER. WE HAVE BEEN TRYING TO HAVE THIS AIR BAG FIXED SINCE THE INITIAL RECALL IN JULY 2016. WE ARE IN OUR MID EIGHTIES AND RELY ON THIS VEHICLE FOR MANY DR. APPOINTMENTS & HOSPITAL VISITS FOR OURSELVES. THERE IS NO REASON WE HAVE TO RIDE AROUND LIVING IN FEAR THAT OUR AIRBAGS CAN'T BE FIXED. THIS NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED IMMEDIATELY!!! PLEASE HAVE SOMEONE CONTACT US AS SOON AS POSSIBLE!!!WE ARE TIRED OF EXCUSES FROM THE FORD COMPANY! I'M SURE THEY KNEW ABOUT THIS ISSUE FOR A LONG TIME EVEN BEFORE THE PUBLIC KNEW. TAKATA RECALL, I RECEIVED A LETTER ON JULY 2016 FROM FORD ABOUT A RECALL ON MY VEHICLE FOR THE AIRBAG. I HAVE BEEN WAITING PATIENTLY TO BE NOTIFY THAT THE PARTS ARE AVAILABLE. ALSO BACK IN 2011, THE SUMMERS WERE VERY HOT. WHEN I WALKED TO MY CAR AFTER WORK.. I NOTICED THE DASHBOARD ON THE PASSENGER SIDE WAS BUBBLED UP, DOWN BY THE BOTTOM HALF OF WHERE THE AIRBAG IS. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE I GET MY OIL CHANGES AND OTHER UP KEEPS ON THE VEHICLE AND THEY TOLD ME TO CONTACT FORD . FORD SAID TO ME THAT MY CAR WAS NO LONGER UNDER WARRANTY AND THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID , THEY COULD TRY TO FIX IT BUT THEY COULDN'T GUARANTEE THAT IT WOULD WORK. THEY SAID IT WOULD COST ABOUT $300.00 BECAUSE THEY WOULD HAVE TO TAKE THE GLOVE BOX OUT AND DEACTIVATE THE AIRBAG AND CROSS ARE FINGERS THAT IT HOLDS ONCE THEY BASICALLY GLUE IT. WELL, WHEN I GOT THIS RECALL, IT PUT ME TO THINKING IF THIS RECALL HAD ANYTHING TO DO WITH THIS BUBBLING UP LIKE IT DID. I TAKE VERY GOOD CARE OF MY VEHICLES AND GET PRETTY GOOD TRADE-INS FOR THEM , NOW BECAUSE OF THIS MANUFACTURE DEFECT OR POSSIBILITY HAVING TO DO WITH THE RECALL. THE TRADE-IN WILL BE DOCKED BECAUSE OF THIS DEFECT THAT I HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH. PEOPLE THAT RIDE ON THE PASSENGER SIDE ASK ME IF THE AIRBAG WILL ERUPT WHILE THEY ARE SITTING THERE. I TELL THEM , THAT I WAS INFORMED THAT IT PROBABLY WOULDN'T. (ENCOURAGING WORDS, RIGHT). I'M SENDING YOU THE LETTER I RECEIVED ABOUT THE RECALL BACK ON JULY 2016, THAT I'M STILL WAITING ON AND ALSO PICTURES OF MY DASHBOARD WHERE THE AIRBAG IS,. TAKATA RECALL - I RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE FROM FORD MOTOR COMPANY FOR THE PASSENGER FRONTAL AIRBAG INFLATOR, DATED JULY 2016. IT HAS BEEN OVER 1 YEAR NOW AND I HAVE NOT RECEIVED ANY FOLLOW-UP INFORMATION REGARDING REPLACEMENT OF THIS PIECE, AND THE NHTSA WEBSITE STATES THAT THERE IS STILL NO REMEDY AVAILABLE. THIS FLAWED PIECE OF EQUIPMENT IS POTENTIALLY DEADLY, SHOULD IT RUPTURE, AND IT IS UNACCEPTABLE THAT IT HAS BEEN OVER 1 YEAR AND STILL "NO REMEDY IS AVAILABLE". PLEASE LET ME KNOW WHEN I CAN EXPECT A REPLACEMENT PIECE FOR THIS TO BE AVAILABLE AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. THANK YOU.
TAKATA INFLATORS- I HAVE CONTACTED ADVANTAGE FORD ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS SINCE RECEIVING A RECALL NOTICE IN JULY 2016. EACH TIME I HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT REPLACEMENT PARTS ARE NOT AVAILABLE. LAST WEEK I WAS TOLD THAT I COULD CALL FORD HEADQUARTERS OR MERCURY HEADQUARTERS BUT THEY DIDN'T IT WOULD HELP. THIS CAR IS NOW MORE THAN 10 YEARS OLD AND IS SITUATED IN FLORIDA WITH HOT WEATHER YEAR ROUND. I AM SCARED EACH TIME I DRIVE IT THAT I OR MY PASSENGER WILL BE INJURED BY THIS UNSAFE AIRBAG SITUATION. IT SEEMS THAT SOMEONE SHOULD BE ABLE TO APPLY PRESSURE ON TAKATA TO PROVIDE REPLACEMENT PARTS OR AT THE VERY LEAST HAVE THE CAR MANUFACTURERS PRODUCE THE REPLACEMENT PARTS AND GO AFTER TAKATA FOR EXPENSES.

TO DATE I HAVE NOT HEARD FROM FORD THAT REPLACEMENT AIRBAGS ARE AVAILABLE FOR THIS RECALL. MY LOCAL DEALER TELLS ME AIR BAGS ARE AVAILABLE FOR PURCHASE, BUT FORD HAS NOT RELEASED ANY FOR THE RECALL. AT WHAT POINT WILL NHSTA DO SOMETHING TO FORCE FORD TO COMPLETE THIS RECALL. IF THEY HAVE PARTS FOR SALE - WHY AREN'T THEY BEING USED FOR THIS RECALL? TAKATA AIRBAGS CAN BE LETHAL.

ALSO, WHILE DRIVING, THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT IMMEDIATELY ACCELERATE WHEN THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED AND THE TRANSMISSION WOULD SLIP WHEN SHIFTING GEARS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE WAS FAULTY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 84,000.

WHILE DRIVING 23 MPH, THE DRIVER'S AIR BAG INADVERTENTLY DEPLOYED WITHOUT WARNING WHEN THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED. AS A RESULT, THE CONTACT REAR ENDED THE PRECEDING VEHICLE. A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED SEVERAL BRUISES TO THE FACE, WHICH DID NOT REQUIRE MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN TO THE CONTACT'S RESIDENCE AND THEN TOWED TO THE SAME DEALER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. TAKATA RECALL NOTHING HAS HAPPENED (YET!), BUT I WISH TO FORMALLY COMPLAIN ABOUT FORD/MERCURY DRAGGING THEIR FEET ON FULFILLING THE DEMANDS OF THE AIRBAG RECALL WHICH WAS ISSUED A YEAR-AND-A-HALF AGO. THEY ARE STILL CLAIMING THAT WE (OWNERS) WILL BE NOTIFIED BY MAIL WHEN THE REMEDY/PART IS AVAILABLE, BUT THE DELAY IS BECAUSE THEY HAVE SPENT SO MUCH TIME AND EFFORT TRYING TO WEASEL OUT OF THEIR OBLIGATION, ASKING (AND RECENTLY BEING DENIED BY) THE NHTSA FOR A PASS, WHILE OTHER MANUFACTURERS LIKE NISSAN AND HONDA HAVE BEEN MUCH MORE CONCERNED WITH THE SAFETY OF VEHICLE OWNERS, AND PROACTIVE WITH THEIR RECALL OBLIGATIONS. I CANNOT AFFORD A NEW VEHICLE AND SO I HAVE TO LIVE WITH THE FACT THAT EVERY TIME MY FAMILY OR I USE THIS CAR, OUR VERY LIVES ARE AT RISK, BECAUSE FORD APPARENTLY FEELS THEIR BOTTOM LINE OUTWEIGHS THE POTENTIAL COST OF A FEW WRONGFUL DEATH SUITS.

IT'S THE THROTTLE CONTROL, KICKS DOWN TO 5MPH,ORANGE WRENCH STAYS LIT
THIS CAR WAS SOLD 3 YRS AGO FOR PARTS ONLY
WAS DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY AT 75 MPH WITH CRUISE CONTROL SET. THE WRENCH LIGHT AND TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT CAME ON , CRUISE CONTROL TURNED OFF AND LOST POWER AND SPEED. I HAD TO PULL OFF INTO THE DITCH TO AVOID AN ACCIDENT AND DRIVE DOWN THE SHOULDER TO A REST STOP. I TURNED OFF THE CAR AND LET IT SIT FOR FOR 5 MINUTES AND THE TURNED IT BACK ON AND IT RAN FINE. AFTER READING OTHER ISSUES LIKE MINE I'M THINKING IT MAY BE THE THROTTLE BODY OR TRACTION CONTROL SENSORS.
HAD TO HAVE VEHICLE TOWED TO REPAIR SHOP. STARTER WAS BURNED OUT, PART WAS REPLACED. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND CODES READ THROTTLE BODY. I HAVE VERY SUBTLE ISSUES WITH THE ACCELERATION OF MY VEHICLE, BUT THIS IS THE 2ND THROTTLE BODY CODE TO POP UP IN THE LAST TWO YEARS. I ASSUME THAT IT WILL SOON BE A PROBLEM. SEEMS TO BE A VERY COMMON ISSUE WITH FUSIONS/MILANS. THE ONLY THING MORE COMMON IS THE DOOR HANDLE BREAKING. FUNNY THING IS THAT I GOT A RECALL FOR THE FLOOR MAT THAT DOES NOT EVEN CAUSE PROBLEMS. PART SHOULD BE COVERED. GOING TO TRY CLEANING IT, HOPING FOR THE BEST.
