MY PASSENGER BACK DOOR HANDLE BROKE OFF. IT IS VERY SELDOM THAT ANYONE RIDES IN MY BACK SEAT. I AM SINGLE AND HAVE NO CHILDREN SO THE HANDLE SHOULD NOT HAVE BROKEN. *TR
THE VEHICLE IS A 2006 4DR MERCURY MILAN. WHILE I ACCELERATE THERE IS A THUMPING SOUND WHICH MAKES THE VEHICLE JUMP. WHILE APPLYING THE BRAKES AT TIMES THERE IS A THUMP/JERK OF THE VEHICLE WHILE APPLYING THE BRAKES.
THE INSIDE FRONT PASSENGER DOOR HANDLE BROKE FROM UNDER THE DOOR PANEL AND BECAME INOPERABLE. THIS REQUIRED THE INSIDE DOOR HANDLE TO BE REPLACED ON OR ABOUT 10/2009. CAR WAS PURCHASED NEW IN OCT. 2006, HAD LESS THAN 30,000 MILES AND WAS RARELY OCCUPIED BY ANYONE OTHER THAN THE DRIVER I.E. THE FRONT PASSENGER DOOR WAS RARELY USED. SINCE THEN, BOTH INSIDE REAR DOOR HANDLES ARE BECOMING DIFFICULT TO OPERATE AND WILL MOST LIKELY REQUIRE REPLACEMENT IN THE VERY NEAR FUTURE. ON OR ABOUT 9/15/2014, THE FRONT INSIDE PASSENGER DOOR HANDLE WHICH WAS PREVIOUSLY REPLACED AGAIN BECAME INOPERABLE AND HAD TO BE REPLACED ON 10/2/2014. THE FRONT DRIVER INSIDE DOOR HANDLE BROKE AND BECAME INOPERABLE ON OR ABOUT 9/30/2014 AND WAS REPLACED ALSO ON 10/2/2014. THE HANDLES APPEAR TO BE OF VERY POOR QUALITY AND DO NOT HOLD UP AT ALL. IF THE REAR DOORS WERE USED MORE FREQUENTLY, IT WOULD BE NECESSARY TO REPLACE THEM ALSO AT THIS TIME. CURRENT CAR MILEAGE IS 92000 MILES. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 MERCURY MILAN. WHILE DRIVING 65 MPH, THE FUEL PUMP LIGHT ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL AND THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO LOSE POWER SIMULTANEOUSLY. THE CONTACT PUSHED THE FUEL RESET BUTTON AND THE VEHICLE WAS ABLE TO RESUME NORMAL OPERATION. THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN DIAGNOSED BY THE DEALER. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 51,000. WHAT IS WRONG? MY MILAGE IS ONLY 12.5 MPG AVERAGE AND NOT LIKE YOUR ADVERTISMENT SAID THIS MORNING 29 MPG! THIS IS GROSSLY MISLEADING. THANKS FOR YOUR PROMPT ANSWER AND HELP. *TR
INTERIOR DOOR HANDLES HAVE A TENDENCY TO SNAP, WITH NO INDICATION THAT THEY ARE WEAK OR FRAGILE. THIS HAS HAPPENED TO ME PERSONALLY TWICE AND TO OTHERS MANY TIME, ACCORDING TO ONLINE FORUMS FOR THIS VEHICLE. THERE IS NO AVAILABLE REPAIR BEYOND REPLACEMENT OF THE DOOR HANDLES. OBVIOUSLY, IN AN ACCIDENT THIS WOULD LIMIT ONE'S ABILITY TO SAFELY EXIT THE VEHICLE. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 MERCURY MILAN. THE VEHICLE HAS CONTINENTAL, SIZE P205/60R16 TIRES. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE SIDEWALLS WERE BULGING. THE TIRES WERE ROTATED, BUT HE WAS UNSURE WHICH TWO TIRES FAILED. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE TIRES WERE DEFECTIVE. THE DOT NUMBER WAS UNKNOWN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 11,000 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 26,000.
WHILE DRIVING IN SUB-ZERO TEMPERATURES ENGINE SOUNDED HORRIBLE CALLED FOR A TOW TO VILLAGE FORD KEPT VEHICLE FOR 3 WEEKS THEN SAID NEED NEW ENGINE BUT WARRANTY VOIDED BECAUSE ENGINE SEVERELY DEPRIVED OF OIL. SERVICE TECH SAID NOT CORRECT BECAUSE THERE WAS OIL IN IT ASKED FOR MY OIL CHANGE RECEIPTS I HAD 4 RECEIPTS 2 FROM OIL CHANGE SHOP AND 2 FROM MY BROTHER FORD WOULD NOT ACCEPT OIL CHANGES DONE BY MY BROTHER ALLOWING THEM TO SAY THAT I DID NOT CHANGE OIL ENOUGH NOT MAINTAINING THE VEHICLE PROPERLY VOIDED MY WARRANTY SOUTHGATE LM SAID I NEEDED NEW ENGINE AND DAMAGE WAS CAUSED BY A CAMSHAFT SEIZING INSIDE THE ENGINE DUE TO THE VEHICLE ENGINE TIMING BEING OFF OIL IN THE VEHICLE APPEARS VERY DIRTY AND UNFORTUNATELY IS THE CULPRIT OF THE TIMING BEING OFF I DID CHANGE THE OIL BUT FORD CHOSE NOT TO RECOGNIZE TWO OF MY CHANGES THERE WAS NEVER ANY INDICATOR LIGHTS ON MY DASHBOARD SUCH AS A CHECK ENGINE OR AN OIL LAMP INDICATION TO WARN THAT THE OIL IS LOW OR THAT THE ENGINE IS HAVING TROUBLE (AS IN TROUBLE GETTING OIL) CAR HAS BEEN IN A FORD SHOP FOR NEARLY 6 WEEKS BY THE TIME I GET IT BACK SOUTHGATE LINCOLN MERCURY WILL REPLACE THE ENTIRE ENGINE AND ALL ASSOCIATED PARTS FOR WHICH I WILL BE CHARGED $6000 00 MEANWHILE I HAVE NO ASSURANCE THAT THIS WILL NOT HAPPEN AGAIN SINCE THERE WAS NO EARLY INDICATION OF TROUBLE I HAVE NEVER BEEN TOLD BY FORD NOR DO I SEE IT IN ANY OF THEIR PAPERWORK THAT THEY WILL NOT COUNT AN OIL CHANGE AS VALID IF IT IS NOT DONE AT A SERVICE SHOP THIS ENGINE FAILURE CAUSED A LARGE RISK TO ME AND MY THREE CHILDREN BECAUSE WITH THE RECORD-BREAKING COLD TEMPERATURES WE COULD HAVE SUFFERED HYPOTHERMIA OR FROSTBITE VERY QUICKLY HAD I NOT STOPPED THE CAR IN A SUBDIVISION WHERE WE TOOK SHELTER IN A HOME WE COULD HAVE SUFFERED CATASTROPHIC HARM HAD I PULLED OUT INTO ONCOMING TRAFFIC AT THE TIME THE ENGINE STARTED TO SOUND BAD AND LOSE POWER. *JB
THE CARS STUMBLES WHEN YOU ACCELERATE EVERY TIME. I HAVE TAKEN BACK TO DEALER TWICE. THEY SAY THIS IS THE WAY THE CAR SHOULD ACT. I DISAGREE VERY MUCH. I HAVE ALMOST HAD THREE WRECKS DUE TO POOR ACCELERATION. *NM
I BOUGHT THE CAR 4000 MILES AGO AND NOTICED THE PROBLEM AS SOON AS I DROVE THE CAR. THE CAR HESITATES WHEN YOU ACCELERATE FROM 0. MY WIFE HAS COMPLAINED TO ME EVERY DAY. PLASTIC HEADLIGHT LENSES THAT DETERIORATE/CLOUD AND REDUCE LIGHT PASSING THROUGH THE LENS. RESULTING IN REDUCED VISIBILITY DURING NIGHT TIME DRIVING. ARE MANUFACTURERS REQUIRED TO HAVE LIFE OF VEHICLE LENS? WHAT HAPPENED TO GLASS LENSES? NO RECALLS FOR CLOUDED LENSES? VERY COSTLY TO REPLACE OR REPAIR.
