TAKATA RECALL NEITHER THE MANUFACTURER NOR THE DEALER HAVE GOTTEN IN TOUCH WITH ME TO REPLACE MY AIRBAG.
TL* TAKATA RECALL. THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 MERCURY MILAN. WHEN THE CONTACT DEPRESSED THE BRAKE PEDAL, THE PEDAL HAD TO BE PUMPED BECAUSE THE BRAKE SYSTEM FAILED TO ENGAGE TO STOP THE VEHICLE. AS A RESULT, THE VEHICLE SLID FORWARD AND THE CONTACT HAD TO APPLY EXTREME FORCE TO THE BRAKE PEDAL TO STOP THE VEHICLE. THE VIN WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V384000 (AIR BAGS). THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN ANY BRAKE RECALLS OR NHTSA ACTION NUMBER: PE16017 (SERVICE BRAKES, SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE.

TAKATA RECALL : I HAVE BEEN DRIVING AROUND FOR YEARS WITH THESE DANGEROUS AIR BAGS IN MY CAR. THE PARTS ARE STILL NOT AVAILABLE FOR THE RECALL AND NOW TAKATA IS GOING BANKRUPT, I AM AFRAID THEY WILL NEVER GET REPLACED. THIS IS AN UNREASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME TO WAIT FOR A VERY SERIOUS RECALL AND AN UNFAIR POSITION TO PUT PEOPLE IN. I AM AFRAID TO BRING PASSENGERS INTO MY CAR BECAUSE GOD FORBID SOMETHING SHOULD HAPPEN. SO I HAVE A CAR THAT I CANNOT PUT ANYONE INTO? THIS ISN'T RIGHT! "TAKATA RECALL" RECEIVED A LETTER FROM FORD DATED MARCH, 2017 SAYING WHEN PARTS BECOME AVAILABLE FOR SAFETY RECALL # LISTED IN THE LETTER FORD WOULD NOTIFY ME BY LETTER. THE DEALERSHIP SAYS PARTS HAVE NOT BEEN RECEIVED AS OF OCTOBER. 25, 2017 PROX. THE SERVICE REP SAYS OUT OF FORD'S CONTROL. NO DAMAGE YET
I GOT A AIRBAG RECALL LETTER IN JULY-2016. SINCE THAN I HAD CONTACTED THE DEALERS (NORTH PARK LINCOLN, RED MCCOMBS FORD, MAC HAIK'S SOUTHWAY FORD ) SEVERAL TIMES BUT ALL THE TIME I HEAR THAT "PARTS ARE NOT AVAILABLE". IT HAS MORE THAN A YEAR AND STILL NOT SURE WHEN MY CAR'S AIRBAG WILL BE FIXED.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 MERCURY MILAN. ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS, WHILE DRIVING IN INCLEMENT WEATHER, THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED, BUT FAILED TO STOP THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE BRAKE PEDAL TRAVELED TO THE FLOORBOARD. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS INTERMITTENT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO LINCOLN OF TROY (LOCATED AT 1950 W MAPLE RD, TROY, MI 48084, (833) 895-1682) TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE ABS TEST AND BRAKE TEST SHOWED NO ABNORMALITY. ADDITIONALLY, NO DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES WERE RETRIEVED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE BRAKE ROTORS AND BRAKE PADS WERE REPLACED; HOWEVER, THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS SOFT AND SPONGY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND PROVIDED CASE NUMBER: CAS-16448413. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 61,220. THE CONSUMER STATED THE WORK WAS DONE AFTER 11/16/2018 INCIDENT DATE. *TR
I RECEIVED A LETTER IN 2016, 1 YEAR AGO. I WENT TO FORD DEALER TO SEE IF THEY HAVE COME IN (THE NEW ONES) THEY SAID NO ON BACK ORDER FOREVER. THE NOTICE WAS IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE NATIONAL TRAFFIC AND MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY ACT. RECALL NOTICE 16S26. NO ONE HAS W EVER CALLED ME, THIS CAUSES NERVOUSNESS, PANIC ATTACKS AND MORE . WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?
MULTIPLE TIMES WHILE TRYING TO BRAKE IT TAKES LONGER THAN IT SHOULD. IF BRAKING OVER MAN HOLE COVERS, IT WILL FEEL LIKE THE BRAKES ARE SKIDDING. TWO TIMES I HAVE BEEN IN ACCIDENTS WHERE I HAD PLENTY OF BRAKING SPACE AND HAD THE BRAKE TO THE FLOOR BUT STILL DID NOT HAVE TIME TO STOP. BOTH TIMES WERE ON HIGHWAYS
SOFT BRAKE PEDAL, PEDAL GOES MOST OF THE WAY TO FLOOR TO STOP. REPLACED MASTER CYLINDER AND PADS. INFORMED THAT HYDRAULIC CONTROL UNIT WAS BAD AS WELL(COST OF AN ADDITIONAL $1300.00). CONCERNED ABOUT THE COST OF REPAIR AND STORIES OF OTHERS THAT HAD REPEATED FAILURES OF THE HCU. FORD SHOULD REPLACE UNIT FOR FREE AFTER THE FIRST OCCURRENCE. I WILL PAY FOR THE REPAIR ONCE, BUT DON'T WANT TO BE BLEED REPEATEDLY.
THE ABS SYSTEM ISN'T WORKING PROPERLY, AND THE BRAKES ARE VERY SPONGY, MAKING IT UNSAFE TO DRIVE THE CAR. THIS STARTED WHEN I WAS BRAKING AT 40 MPH AND HIT A MILD BUMP IN THE ROAD TRIGGERING THE ABS TO ACTIVATE BRIEFLY. THE BRAKES HAVE BEEN INCONSISTENTLY SPONGY EVER SINCE, AND NOT CONSISTENTLY SPONGY RENDERING THE BRAKES UNPREDICTABLE AS WELL AS INTERMITTENTLY UNRESPONSIVE. THE BRAKE FLUID IS FINE, THE MASTER CYLINDER IS NOT LEAKING, AND THE BRAKE PADS AND CALIPERS ARE FUNCTIONING PROPERLY. THIS APPEARS TO BE AN ABS PUMP/ACTUATOR ISSUE.
TL* TAKATA RECALL. THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 MERCURY MILAN. WHILE DRIVING 40 MPH, THE VEHICLE SHOOK, SPUTTERED, AND LOST ALL POWER. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS ABLE TO RESTART, BUT WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED WITH A FAULTY COIL PACK THAT NEEDED REPLACEMENT. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE INDEPENDENT MECHANIC REPLACED THREE COIL PACKS; HOWEVER, WHEN THE MECHANIC ATTEMPTED TO START THE VEHICLE, THE COIL PACKS EXPLODED AND THE VEHICLE SHUT OFF AGAIN. THE INDEPENDENT MECHANIC INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE REPAIRS WERE TOO LARGE OF A JOB FOR HIM AND SUGGESTED THE VEHICLE BE TAKEN TO A DEALER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING OR REPAIRS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V384000 (AIR BAGS); HOWEVER, THE PARTS TO DO THE REPAIR WERE UNAVAILABLE. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 MERCURY MILAN. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH, THE BRAKES FAILED AND THE BRAKE PEDAL BECAME STUCK TO THE FLOORBOARD. IMMEDIATELY, THE CONTACT PLACED THE VEHICLE INTO NEUTRAL AND COASTED TO A NEARBY PARKING LOT. THE CONTACT RESTARTED THE VEHICLE AND DEPRESSED THE BRAKE PEDAL SEVERAL TIMES IN AN ATTEMPT TO CORRECT THE RECURRING FAILURE. TOWNE FORD (3535 SOUTHWESTERN BLVD, ORCHARD PARK, NEW YORK 14127, (716) 662-6500) WAS CONTACTED AND STATED THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL ON THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 98,000.
WHEN DEPRESSING THE BRAKES AND ENGAGING THE ABS THE PEDAL BECOMES SPONGY AND GOES TO THE FLOOR. SOMETIMES PUMPING THE BRAKE BRINGS UP THE PRESSURE AGAIN BUT NOT ALWAYS. I'VE HEARD IT COULD BE THE ABS MODULE GONE BAD.
PULLEY BOLT HAS BROKEN OFF 3 TIMES NOW WITHIN 1500 MILES OF DRIVING THE CAR.ONCE DRIVING ON A CITY STREET, ANOTHER TIME WHILE SITTING AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT AND THE 3RD WHILE ON THE HIGHWAY GOING AROUND A CURVE AT HIGHER SPEED. WHEN THE BOLT BREAKS, IT ALLOWS THE PULLEY TO BE THROWN AROUND, AND THE SERPENTINE BELT TO COME OFF, RESULTING IN LOSS OF CHARGING SYSTEM, A/C SYSTEM, AND POWER STEERING SYSTEM. THE IS A SAFETY CONCERN ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE TRAVELING AT HIGH SPEED OR TURNING A CORNER OR GOING AROUND A CURVE. MY DAUGHTER COULD HAVE HAD AN ACCIDENT IF SHE HAD LOST CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE WHILE TURNING AND HAVING NO POWER STEERING ALL OF THE SUDDEN. FORD MOTOR CO. KNOWS OF THIS PROBLEM WITH THE FUSION AND MILAN VEHICLES AND REFUSES TO DO A RECALL AND OR COME UP WITH A SOLUTION FOR THE THOUSANDS WHO DRIVE THESE VEHICLES DAILY. WE ARE ALSO INCURRING STEEP REPAIR BILLS TO REPLACE THE BOLTS AND PULLEYS AND BELTS THAT ARE BROKEN OR DAMAGED WHEN THE BOLT BENDS OR BREAKS OFF.
WHEN I APPLY MY BRAKE, THE PEDAL GOES TO THE FLOOR AND IS HARD TO STOP, AFTER STOPPING I WILL PUMP THEM AND GET PRESSURE BACK, BUT AS SOON AS I BRAKE AGAIN THE PEDAL GOES TO FLOOR AND IS HARD TO GET TO STOP.
TAKATA RECALL. I FIRST RECEIVED NOTICE OF THE RECALL IN JUNE 2016. I CHECKED AGAIN TODAY AND FOUND THAT THE RECALL NOTICE IS STILL THERE, BUT AS IN LAST SUMMER, THERE IS STILL NO REMEDY AVAILABLE. I SPOKE WITH A DEALER IN THE AREA AND THEY CONFIRMED THAT THERE ARE NO PARTS YET AVAILABLE AND THEY DON'T HAVE INFORMATION AVAILABLE WHEN THE PARTS WILL BE AVAILABLE. I RECOGNIZE THIS IS A SIZEABLE RECALL, BUT IT ALSO SEEMS THAT A YEAR IS A LONG TIME TO WAIT FOR REPAIR OF SUCH A POTENTIALLY HAZARDOUS PART.

JUST PURCHASED THIS CAR USED. 91, K MILES. BRAKES FAILED ON ME. I TURNED AROUND IN A PARKING LOT MAKING A SHARP LEFT TURN AND PULLED BACK OUT ONTO THE ROAD. I WAS ONLY ABOUT 20 YARDS FROM A STOP SIGN. WHEN I APPROACHED THE STOP SIGN, MY BREAKS WENT TO THE FLOOR AND WE WENT STRAIGHT THROUGH THE INTERSECTION, UNABLE TO STOP. I PUMPED THEM LIKE CRAZY AND WE SLOWED TO A STOP ABOUT 4 CAR LENGTHS FROM THE STOP SIGN.
THROTTLE BODY MALFUNCTION
TAKATA RECALL NOTICE OF RECALL ON OUR 2007 MILAN WAS RECEIVED JULY 2016 AND DESPITE REPEATED ATTEMPTS AT LOCAL DEALERS TO MITIGATE THIS ISSUE, I AM TOLD THE PARTS REMAIN UNAVAILABLE AND TO CHECK BACK IN 3 MONTHS. THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR NEARLY A YEAR. BASED ON THE DESCRIPTION OF THE RECALL WE ARE DRIVING AN UNSAFE VEHICLE AS THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG COULD DEPLOY IN THE EVENT OF AN ACCIDENT, RUPTURE AND INJURE THE PERSON IN THE PASSENGER SEAT. UNTIL SUCH TIME AS OUR VEHICLE HAS RECEIVED REPLACEMENT AIRBAG(S) IN SATISFACTION OF THE RECALL NOTICE, I AM REQUESTING WE BE GIVEN A LOANER VEHICLE TO DRIVE WHILE WE AWAIT REPAIRS OF THE AIRBAG.
ANTI-LOCK BRAKE ISSUE IN FIVE MONTHS I HAVE HAD TO REPLACE TWO ABS MODULES/UNITS. I FIRST NOTICED MY BRAKES GETTING SPONGY IN LATE 2016, THAT'S WHEN THE FIRST ABS WAS REPLACED. ALTHOUGH THIS FIXED THE ISSUE FOR A COUPLE WEEKS, I THEN STARTED TO NOTICE THAT MY BRAKES WERE LOCKING, WHEN NOT APPLYING THE BRAKES. I RETURNED TO THE REPAIR SHOP WHICH LEAD TO NEW COMPONENTS ON MY BRAKES(PADS FRONT AND REAR, CALIPERS ROTORS.ETC.) BECAUSE OF THE WEAR. ALL WERE REPLACED. THEN THE SITUATION HAPPENED AGAIN WHEN MY TEENAGE SON WAS DRIVING. UNDER ACCELERATION, THE BRAKES STARTED APPLYING PRESSURE, WHICH THE ENGINE HAD TO COMPENSATE FOR. AFTER TAKING IT IN TO BE REPAIRED AGAIN, THAT IS WHEN THE SECOND ABS UNIT WAS REPLACED. THIS WAS AFTER THREE DAYS OF TROUBLE-SHOOTING. I FEEL THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUES, AND I HAVE SPENT AN EXHAUSTIVE AMOUNT OF MONEY ON THIS ONE ISSUE. I CAN ONLY ASSUME ALSO, THAT BECAUSE OF BRAKING, WHILE I WAS ACCELERATING, THERE WILL BE MORE ISSUES DOWN THE ROAD. PLEASE ADVISE. THANK YOU.
THROTTLE BODY MALFUNCTION AND ACCELERATION PROBLEMS
WHILE DRIVING ON APRIL 29, 2016 THE BRAKE PEDAL SUDDENLY WENT TO THE FLOOR WHEN ATTEMPTING TO BRAKE ON A CITY STREET. CAR WOULD STILL STOP , BUT NOT VERY SAFELY. TOOK CAR TO MECHANIC. MECHANIC BLED AND ADJUSTED BRAKES, CHARGING $35.00. ON 4/7/17 THE SAME THING HAPPENED. WILL TAKE BACK TO MECHANIC ALONG WITH ARTICLE FROM 12/27/16.

THE ANTI LOCK BRAKES CAME ON WHEN I WAS SLIDING IN SNOW . THEN MY BRAKES WENT SOFT . I HAD TO STOP AND PUT MY CAR IN PARK AND PUMP THE BRAKE PEDDLE TO GET THEM TO COME BACK UP. VERY SCARY THIS IS THE SECOND TIME IT HAS HAPPENED!
