BRAKES WENT TO THE FLOOR AND I SLID THROUGH A STOP SIGN. MY HUSBAND INFORMS ME THE BRAKES HAVE BEEN LIKE THIS FOR MONTHS. I USUALLY DON'T DRIVE THIS CAR, BUT I DID THAT DAY, AND WILL NOT DRIVE IT NOW, IT IS NOT SAFE. OUR MECHANIC IS STUMPED; BLED THE BRAKES, AND REPLACED EVERYTHING. STILL GOING TO THE FLOOR.

TAKATA RECALL I WAS NOTIFIED IN THE FALL OF 2016 THAT MY VEHICLE HAS TAKATA AIRBAG INFLATORS THAT HAVE BEEN RECALLED. I CALLED MY LOCAL FORD DEALER ( KLABEN FORD IN KENT, OHIO) TO SCHEDULE A REPAIR. I WAS TOLD THAT PARTS ARE NOT AVAILABLE & I WOULD BE NOTIFIED WHEN PARTS ARE AVAILABLE. I CALLED KLABEN FORD ON 10/25/2017 AND WAS TOLD AGAIN PARTS ARE NOT AVAILABLE. WHY AFTER 1 YEAR FORD CAN'T FIND REPLACEMENT PARTS? I BELIEVE FORD HAS NO INTENTION OF REPLACING THE INFLATORS. WHAT ACTION CAN BE TAKEN TO GET FORD TO HONOR THE RECALL?

TAKATA RECALL: SINCE THE AIRBAG RECALL I HAVE CONTINUED CONTACT MY LOCAL DEALER REGARDING THE AVAILABILITY OF REPLACEMENT AIRBAGS. IT HAS BEEN RECENTLY BROUGHT TO MY ATTENTION THAT TAKATA CONTINUES TO DELIVER AIRBAGS TO ALL LARGER DEALERSHIPS NATIONWIDE. THE DEALERSHIP IN MY AREA HAVE PLACED THE ORDER TWICE FOR A REPLACEMENT BUT THE MANUFACTURES CONTINUE TO DECLINE THE ORDER. MY LAST CHECK WITH THE DEALERSHIP WAS OCTOBER 8, 2018 AND I WAS ASKED TO PLEASE CONTINUE CHECKING. AT MY LAST CONTACT I WAS INFORMED TO PLEASE CHECK AGAIN IN NOVEMBER WHICH IS DRAWING CLOSER TO THE END OF THE MONTH. MY DUE DILIGENCE IS RUNNING OUT AND I HAVE NO COMPLAINT WITH MY DEALERSHIP AND UNDERSTAND THAT TAKATA HAS MUCH WORK LEFT TO COMPLETE. ALL LIVES MATTER WHEN IT COMES TO REMAINING SAFE ON THE ROAD DURING TRAVELS. THE WAIT PERIOD NEEDS TO COME TO AN END AS IT HAS BEEN FAR TO LONG TO HAVE ISSUES CORRECTED. WHEN I RECEIVED THE FIRST RECALL NOTICE I DID NOT HESITATE TO CONTACT TO DEALER. IT SEEMS THAT THE RECALL ISSUE NEEDS TO BE HANDLED IN A MORE EFFICIENT AND EFFECTIVE MANNER. SAFETY IS ALWAYS A CONCERN.

WHILE DRIVING ON A CITY STREET AND BRAKING TO STOP AND SLOW DOWN, BRAKE PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR. WAS ABLE TO BRING THE VEHICLE SAFELY TO A STOP WITHOUT ACCIDENT. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A NEARBY DEALER WHO CHECKED THE BRAKES FOR AIR IN THE LINE AND THEN DETERMINED THAT THE MASTER CYLINDER WAS DEFECTIVE AND NEEDED REPLACED. MASTER CYLINDER WAS REPLACED AND CORRECTED THE PROBLEM. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ABS HYDRAULIC CONTROL UNIT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. BRAKE PEDAL SWITCH WOULD MALFUNCTION AND CAR WOULD LOCK IN PARK AND HAD TO REPLACE 2016 COST - I DON'T HAVE THIS RECEIPT HANDY AT THIS TIME. TODAY REPLACED THROTTLE AND AN IGNITION COIL THIS DATE. CAR WOULD STOP ACCELERATING WHEN IN MOTION WHEN DRIVING IN A STRAIGHT LINE AND LOOSE POWER AND HAVE TO PULL OVER AND SHUT OFF AND RESTART AND THEN MORE TIME TO START. REPAIRED TODAY COST OVER $1100.

TAKATA RECALL" I RECEIVED A RECALL A YEAR AGO THIS MONTH REGARDING THE AIRBAG SITUATION. THE DEALERSHIP IS NOT CONCERNED AND HAS NOT RECEIVED ANYTHING TO REPLACE IT. THE SEAL ON MY DASH HAS OPENED UP EXPOSING SOME FOAM. I AM CONCERNED FOR ANYONE TO SIT IN THAT SEAT. I WANT TO KNOW WHEN THIS MATTER WILL BE RESOLVED. IT IS RIDICULOUS THAT THEY HAVE NOT BOTHERED TO FIX THIS CONSIDERING IT IS DANGEROUS. FORD NEEDS TO STEP UP. I WANT SOME ANSWERS!!!
I WAS INFORMED OF THE AIRBAG RECALL (CAUSING SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH) OVER A YEAR AGO. I HAVE CALLED MY FORD LINCOLN MERCURY DEALERSHIP, WHERE I BOUGHT MY CAR, EVERY FEW MONTHS FOR AN UPDATE ON WHETHER THE PARTS ARE ESTIMATED TO ARRIVE. I HAVE NEVER BEEN GIVEN AN ESTIMATE ON WHEN THE PARTS WILL ARRIVE AND HAVE NEVER BEEN PROVIDED WITH A SOLUTION TO MY ISSUE. I WOULD LIKE TO GET THIS FIXED BEFORE IT HURTS OR KILLS ME OR ANYONE ELSE THAT MAY BE IN MY VEHICLE. I HAVE RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF THE TAKATA RECALL FROM FORD MOTOR CO. UNFORTUNATELY THE 2007 MERCURY MILAN IS USED TO CARRY CHILDREN IN THE FRONT AND REAR SEATS. HOWEVER, THE RECALL NOTIFICATION STATES EXPLICITLY NOT TO ALLOW PASSENGERS TO USE THE FRONT SEAT. THIS MAKES THE CAR UNUSABLE. FORD NEEDS TO PROVIDE A CAR OR MEANS TO RENT ANOTHER VEHICLE UNTIL THE DEFECTIVE AND UNSAFE AIR BAG HAS BEEN REPAIRED. THERE ARE NO OTHER MEANS OF TRANSPORTATION AVAILABLE AND THIS VEHICLE IS NECESSARY TO TRANSPORT CHILDREN IN AFFECTED SEAT. WHICH FORD MOTOR CO. HAS INSTUCTED NOT TO USE.

FOLLOWING AN ABS EVENT, THE BRAKES FAIL IMMEDIATELY. THE BRAKE PEDAL GOES COMPLETELY TO THE FLOOR. IT IS TERRIFYING AND HIGHLY DANGEROUS. IT HAS HAPPENED FOR YEARS BUT ONLY OCCASIONALLY, BUT WHEN IT DOES YOU FIND YOURSELF IN A LIFE AND DEATH SITUATION. FOLLOWING AN INCIDENT THE BRAKES START TO WORK AGAIN. I BROUGHT IT TO THE ATTENTION OF MY LOCAL DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID, THAT THEY COULDN'T DUPLICATE THE SITUATION. LOOK AROUND THE INTERNET AND THERE ARE MANY PEOPLE WHO HAVE EXPERIENCED THIS PROBLEM, BOTH ON MERCURY MILANS AND ON FORD FUSIONS. THE PROBLEM SEEMS TO BE A FAULTY HCU (HYDROLIC CONTROL UNIT)

WHILE DRIVING MY FRONT AIRBAG LIGHT CAME ON. I TOOK IT TO DEALERSHIP AND THEY STATE THE CLOCK SPRING IS FAULTY AND NEEDS TO BE REPLACED FOR $355.25.
WHILE DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE MY CAR LOST THE ABILITY TO TRAVEL AT A SAFE AND ACCEPTABLE SPEED. THE CARS MAXIMUM SPEED WAS 30 MPH ON AN INTERSTATE THAT HAS A REQUIRED SPEED OF 55MPH. I WAS FORCED TO PULL OVER ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND HAVE THE CAR TOWED. THIS IS A GRAVE SAFETY CONCERN, ESPECIALLY SINCE FORD MOTOR COMPANY KNOWS EXACTLY WHAT THE PROBLEM ORIGINATES FROM. THE CAR WAS THEN TAKEN TO A REPAIR SHOP THAT FOUND THE PROBLEM TO BE A DEFECTIVE THROTTLE BODY. FORD WILL REPLACE THROTTLE BODIES IN 2009 AND UP MERCURY MILAN'S BUT NOT THE 2007. THE CARS HAVE THE EXACT SAME THROTTLE BODIES! IT IS NEGLIGENT ON FORD MOTOR COMPANIES PART TO NOT OFFER TO REPLACE ALL THROTTLE BODIES IN AFFECTED AUTOMOBILES.
