I HAVE NOTICED THAT MY VEHICLE MAKES A FUNNY WHINING SOUNDS AS I INCREASE MY SPEED. THIS INCLUDES GETTING UP TO HIGHWAY SPEEDS. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO THE SHOP AND THEY CANNOT TELL WHERE IT IS COMING FROM. THEY JUST TOLD ME TO TURN UP THE RADIO TO IGNORE IT. THEY ALSO SUGGESTED THAT I CONTACT THE DEALERSHIP TO SEE IF THERE ARE ANY OTHER COMPLAINTS. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 MERCURY MILAN. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE ENTERING A PARKING SPACE, THE POWER STEERING FAILED WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE EXHIBITED A BURNING RUBBER ODOR WHEN THE FAILURE OCCURRED. THE STEERING WHEEL BECAME INCREASINGLY STIFF AND THERE WAS A LOUD, ABNORMAL NOISE FROM THE ENGINE. THE VEHICLE THEN ABNORMALLY ACCELERATED. THE CONTACT WAS UNABLE TO CONTROL THE VEHICLE WITHOUT STEERING AND CRASHED INTO A TREE. THE CONTACT WAS UNINJURED. A POLICE REPORT WAS AVAILABLE. SHE THEN ATTEMPTED TO POWER THE VEHICLE OFF BUT TO NO AVAIL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THE CONTACT WAS AWAITING DIAGNOSIS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 53,000. UPDATED 12/20/11 *CN
MY CAR HAS ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS LOST BRAKE PRESSURE AFTER GOING OVER A BUMP OR SOME HARD ROAD CONDITIONS. THE FIRST TIME IT HAPPENED I HAD MY BRAKES CHANGED BECAUSE I THOUGHT THEY WERE NOT GOOD. THE SHOP, FIRESTONE (LOS ANGELES, CA) MADE SEVERAL ATTEMPTS TO GET RID OF THE SOFTNESS AND GOING TO THE FLOOR HALF WAY, BUT NOT UNTIL THEY BLED THE BRAKES FOR THE 2ND TIME DID IT SEEMS TO WORK. SECOND TIME I WAS IN MEXICO AND THE BRAKES WERE GREAT - THEN I WENT OVER A LARGE SPEED BUMP AND MY BRAKES ALL OF A SUDDEN WENT COMPLETELY SOFT. I TOOK IT TO A SHOP AND THEY SAID THE BRAKES WERE FINE. THEY BLEED THE BRAKES AND THINGS SEEMED GOOD AGAIN. THE THIRD TIME IT HAPPENED I WENT OVER A POTHOLE AND AGAIN THE BRAKES WENT FROM GOOD TO TOTALLY SOFT AGAIN. I TOOK THE CAR TO MARINA FORD DEALERSHIP AND THEY TOLD ME THAT IT WAS THE HYDRAULIC CONTROL UNIT AND TOLD ME THAT IT WOULD BE A $1,600 REPAIR. I WAS SHOCKED AND TOLD THEM I THINK THERE IS SOMETHING TERRIBLY WRONG WITH THIS UNIT BECAUSE I HAVE GONE THROUGH A LOT OF TROUBLE WITH THESE CARS BRAKES. THEY SAID THEY CAN FIX IT, BUT I DIDN'T HAVE $1,600 AT THE TIME TO SPEND. SO I BLEED THE BRAKES MYSELF AND CHANGED THE ROTORS AND PADS MYSELF. AFTER THREE TIMES BLEEDING ALL FOUR BRAKE LINES - IT SEEMED GOOD AGAIN, BUT WHEN I AM AT A LONG LIGHT THE BRAKES START TO GO DOWN TO ABOUT HALF WAY AND THE CAR STARTS SLOWING MOVING UNTIL I PUMP THE BRAKES. I REALLY THINK FORD SHOULD REPLACE THIS. IT IS DANGEROUS AND IT IS THEIR ERROR I BELIEVE. IT IS A LEMON PART. THEY TOLD ME THAT SOME BRAKE FLUID GETS STUCK IN THE HCU AFTER A PERCEIVED ABS EVENT. THEN IT SHOULD COME BACK THROUGH THE UNIT AGAIN, BUT IT DOESN'T AND GET STUCK IN THERE AND THAT IS WHY THE BRAKES ARE SOFT. THIS SOUNDS TO ME LIKE A FAULTY PART, BUT THEY WON'T FIX IT UNLESS I GIVE THEM $1,600! I CAN'T CHANGE IT MYSELF, IT REQUIRES THAT THERE IS A COMPUTER RESET AND ONLY FORD HAS THAT. *TR
12/12/2010--THE TRANSMISSION IS SLIPPING AS I LEFT MY GRANDSON BIRTHDAY ,I BOUGHT THE CAR LAST MONTH IT ONLY HAS 19,800 MILES ON IT. *TR
LESS THAN 30000, MILES AIR CONDITIONING WENT OUT AND WAS CHARGED TO REPAIR IT, AIR BAG SENSOR LIGHT COMES AND GOES BUT NEVER FIXED OR REPAIRED. WAS IN A 30 MILE A HOUR HEAD ACCIDENT, AND AIR BAGS NEVER DEPLOYED......DRIVER WINDOW MOTOR OUT 2 TIMES...BATTERY WENT OUT AFTER 2 YEARS AND WAS CHARGED 140 TO REPLACE A 80 DOLLAR BATTERY.... TRADE IT OFF NOW OR DEAL WITH THESE ISSUES! *TR
MY MERCURY MILAN, I STARTED NOTICING MULTIPLE PROBLEMS OF MY AIR BAG BACK IN 2010, THAT AS I FIRST START THE CAR, THAT THE AIR BAG LIGHT ON THE CONTROL PANEL WOULD BE ON, AFTER ABOUT 15-20 MINUTES IT WOULD THEN GO OFF, BUT NOW ON ALL THE TIME DUE TO A MODULE UNDER THE PASSENGER SEAT. THE 2ND PROBLEM IS OF MY TRANSMISSION, WHILE IN TRAFFIC, ALOT OF STOPPING AND STARTING, I NOTICED MY TRANSMISSION SEEMS TO SLIP OUT AS IF I'M IN NEUTRAL, I'VE SEEN THERE WAS A RECALL OR TALK OF IT FOR THIS PROBLEM OF SOME OF THE NEWER MODELS, BUT THE YEAR FOR 2007, THERE IS NOTHING FOR IT, SO THIS PROBLEM STARTED WELL BEFORE THE YEARS THAT WERE LISTED, THIS CONCERNS ME AS IF I NEEDED TO MOVE OUT OF THE WAY FOR SOME ODD REASON, SPECIALLY WHILE HAVING FAMILY IN THE CAR, THERE'D BE NOW WAY OF DOING SO QUICKLY IF DESIRED, AND WOULD ABSORB AN IMPACT OF ANY .SO THE 2 ITEMS LISTED CONCERNS ME AS A CONSUMER FOR "SAFETY REASON" SPECIALLY WHEN DRIVING MY CHILDREN OR GRANDCHILDREN WITH ME. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 MERCURY MILAN. THE CONTACT STATED HE NOTICED THE REAR PASSENGER TIRE WAS FLAT AND UPON FURTHER INSPECTION, FOUND THAT THE VALVE STEM WAS CRACKED. THE VALVE STEMS ON EACH TIRE WERE CRACKED AND THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A LOCAL TIRE FACILITY WHERE THE VALVE STEMS WERE REPLACED ACCORDINGLY. THE FAILURE WAS 35,801 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE IS 65,000 UPDATED 08/11/10. *LJ UPDATED 08/17/10.*JB
THE PASSENGER SIDE FRONT DOOR FLEW OPEN WHILE DRIVING. THE DOOR WAS IN LOCKED POSITION AND OPENED WHILE GOING AROUND A CURVE IN THE ROAD. PASSENGER WAS WEARING SEATBELT SO NO INJURY OCCURRED. ATTEMPTS WERE MADE TO CLOSE DOOR, HOWEVER IT OPENED UNDER SLIGHTEST OF PRESSURE, EVEN WHEN LOCKED. DOOR WAS TIED CLOSED WITH ROPE AND TAKEN TO DEALERSHIP FOR REPAIR. THE LATCH ASSEMBLY ON THE DOOR WAS FOUND TO BE BROKEN AND REPLACED. *TR
TIRE VALVES FAILED ON MY 2007 MERCURY MILAN. HAD TO REPLACE 2 TIRES AND AVOIDED FURTHER TIRE DAMAGE WHEN I HAD REMAINING TIRE VALVES REPLACED DUE TO UNDER-INFLATED TIRES. SOMEONE AT FORD IS AWARE OF THIS SITUATION BUT APPARENTLY NOT THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE OR DEALERS. I BELIEVE THE NHTSA HAS BEE AWARE OF THIS SINCE 2008. YOU MIGHT WANT TO FOLLOW UP BEFORE WE HAVE ANOTHER EXPLORER/FIRESTONE TYPE CRISIS. *TR
CAR ALWAYS SHIFTED HARD AT 2500 RPM'S. BUT GOT PROGRESSIVELY WORSE. TOOK TO WAYNE LINCOLN MERCURY (WHERE I HAD PURCHASED THE CAR NEW) THEY TESTED THE CAR AND SAID NOTHING WAS WRONG. BROUGHT CAR BACK AT ABOUT 53,000 MILES WITH SAME COMPLAINT THEY SAID IT WAS A MOTOR MOUNT. HAD IT CHECKED AT LOCAL GARAGE THEY SAID MOTOR MOUNT WAS FINE.POWER TRAIN WARNING LIGHT CAME ON TRANS STARTED TO SLIP TRANS FLUID ALMOST BLACK.CAR HAD EXTENDED WARRANTY BUT DEALER REFUSED TO HONOR BECAUSE CAR DIDN'T HAVE 70,000 MILE SERVICING DONE. TOOK TO LOCAL TRANS SHOP TRANSMISSION COMPLETELY REBUILT CAR WAS FINE FOR TWO WEEKS. POWER TRAIN LIGHT CAME ON TRANS STARTED TO SLIP BROUGHT CAR BACK. THEY REBUILT TRANS AGAIN. POWER TRAIN LIGHT ON AGAIN CAR JERKED IN REVERSE,BACK TO TRANNY SHOP SAID IT WAS SLIPPING AGAIN. SHOP DIDN'T WANT TO TAKE CHANCE WITH CURRENT TRANSMISSION REBUILT ANOTHER TRANS AND INSTALLED IN CAR. WEEK LATER SAME PROBLEM CAR IN SHOP AGAIN.HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR SIX MONTHS.CAN'T DRIVE CAR AT ALL. *KB
BLOWOUT OF REAR TIRE ON DRIVER'S SIDE. WE HAD EXITED THE NEW YORK STATE THRUWAY ABOUT 10 MINUTES PRIOR AND LUCKILY THE BLOWOUT OCCURRED ON A BACK ROAD WHICH WAS NOT HEAVILY TRAVELED. THE MECHANIC SENT BY AAA TO CHANGE THE TIRE ADVISED THE TIRE WAS DEFECTIVE. MY VEHICLE IS A 2007 MERCURY MILAN PURCHASED IN 05/2007 AND AT THAT TIME HAD SLIGHTLY LESS THAN 20,000 MILES SO IT IS STILL UNDER WARRANTY. I TOOK THE TIRE TO THE FORD DEALERSHIP WHERE I PURCHASED THE CAR AND THEY TOOK PHOTOS OF THE TIRE AND SENT THEM OVER THE INTERNET TO RECEIVE APPROVAL TO REPLACE THE TIRE. FORD DENIED THE REQUEST. I CONTACTED A LOCAL MICHELIN DEALER AND WAS ADVISED IF FORD HAD DENIED REPLACEMENT, THERE WAS NOTHING THAT COULD BE DONE. SINCE FORD WOULD NOT HONOR THE WARRANTY, I PURCHASED A NEW TIRE FROM THE MECHANIC WHO HAS DONE ALL MY AUTO REPAIRS FOR ALMOST 20 YEARS. HE ALSO INDICATED THE TIRE WAS DEFINITELY DEFECTIVE. *TR
I BOUGHT MY 2007 MERCURY MILAN PREMIERE IN NOV OF 2007. I HAVE NOT HAD ANY REAL PROBLEMS UNTIL ABOUT 3 WEEKS AGO. ON A FRIDAY WE WERE DRIVING TO MY KIDS DOCTORS AND NOTICED THAT THE GEARS WERE SLIPPING A LITTLE BIT. ON THE WAY BACK IT GOT WORSE. SO WE TOOK IT IN TO A FRIENDS TRANSMISSION SHOP AND HE HAD TOLD US THAT THE TRANNY WAS GONE, BAD HISTORY. SO HE HAD MY CAR FOR 8 DAYS PUTTING A REBUILT TRANNY IN IT. WE GOT IT BACK ON THE 8TH NIGHT AND STARTED DRIVING HOME AND NOTICED THAT IT WAS NOT SHIFTING PROPERLY. SO WE TOOK IT BACK AND THE AXLE SEAL HAD GONE BAD. SO ANOTHER DAY AND A HALF OF MY CAR BEING IN THE SHOP. WE HAD THE CAR BACK FOR ALMOST A WEEK AND I WAS DRIVING IT TO THE STORE AND THE RPM'S WENT WAY UP TO 6500 AND WASN'T MOVING. SO I PULLED OVER. WAITED 3 HOURS TO BE TOWED. SO COME TO FIND OUT MY TRANNY IS OUT AGAIN AND THEY NOW HAVE HAD MY CAR FOR 5 DAYS. THEY ALSO TOLD ME THAT 3 OTHER MILANS HAVE BEEN IN FOR TRANNY WORK. I HAVE DISH OUT $1650 FOR A REBUILT TRANNY AND $480 FOR A RENTAL. I NOW HAVE A RENTAL BUT THANKFULLY THE TRANNY PLACE IS PAYING FOR IT. *TR
THE BEARING ON THE DRIVE LINE OF MY 2007 MILAN IS BAD AND THE CAR HAS ABOUT 29000 MILES. IT HAS BEEN OVER A MONTH SINCE I TOOK THE CAR TO A FORD DEALER TO GET FIXED. THE DEALER CAN'T GET THE REPLACEMENT PART FROM FORD. *TR
ON THE MORNING OF JANUARY 6, 09 MY WIFE STOPPED TO FILL HER CAR WITH GAS. AFTER THE CAR WAS FULL AND THE PUMP SHUT OFF SHE REMOVED THE NOZZLE FROM THE TANK AND WAS IMMEDIATELY SPRAYED WAS GAS. SHE WAS LUCKY THAT SHE WAS JUST A BLOCK FROM HOME AND WAS ABLE TO GET CLEANED UP WITHOUT GETTING HURT. THIS IS NOT THE FIRST OCCURRENCE OF GAS BLOWBACK WITH THIS CAR. *TR
SINCE NOVEMBER 2008, I'VE HAD TO BUY TWO NEW TIRES AND REPLACE THE VALVE STEMS ON THE OTHER TWO TIRES ON MY 2007 MERCURY MILAN. FAULTY VALVE STEMS COST ME $450 ON A CAR THAT WASN'T EVEN TWO YEARS OLD. THE MECHANICS WHO WORKED ON MY CAR ALL INFORMED ME OF THE BAD VALVE STEMS THAT WENT OUT IN 2007, SO WHY AS AN OWNER WAS I NEVER TOLD ABOUT THIS PROBLEM WHEN I PURCHASED THE CAR? ISN'T IT THE MANUFACTURER'S RESPONSIBILITY TO INFORM THE CUSTOMER OR BE PRO-ACTIVE AND REPLACE THE TIRES? *TR
THE 2006- 2012 MERCURY MILAN AND FORD FUSION ARE VERY LIKELY TO LOOSE POWER STEERING AND BRAKES. DUE TO THE THE WAY THE BELT TENSIONER IS MOUNTED ON THE ENGINE IS IT VERY COMMON THAT THE BOLT HOLDING THE PULLEY IN PLACE WILL SNAP CAUSING ACCESORIES TO SHUT OFF DUE TO THE BELT FALLING OFF, FORD WILL NOT TAKE CARE OF IT, MYSELF AND HUNDRED OF OTHERS ARE HAVING THIS ISSUE AS I WENT TO FORUMS ONLINE AND FOUND ALOT OF PEOPLE HAVE THE SAME ISSUE, THESE ARE VERY SAFE DEPENDABLE CARS UNTIL THIS STARTED HAPPEING TO ALL OF US, IF YOU ARE UNSURE AS TO IF YOU SHOULD BELIEVE, START A POLL WITH THE OWNERS OF VEHICLES MENTIONED AND OTHERS MADE BY FORD MOTORS, ITS FOUND TO BE VERY COMMON.
ON 9/9/08 WE WERE TRAVELING TO THE AIRPORT WHEN OUR TIRE COMPLETELY DISINTEGRATED. WE HAD THAT TIRE REPLACED. ON 9/26/08 A SECOND TIRE WAS SEPARATING FROM THE SIDEWALL. IN LESS THAN 25000 MILES ON OUR VEHICLE WE ARE HAVING TO REPLACE A THIRD TIRE. THERE WAS NO DAMAGE BECAUSE WE CAUGHT IT IN TIME AND USED WISDOM. ONE TIRE IS AVAILABLE FOR INSPECTION IT IS AT THE DEALER AT THE MOMENT. THE OTHER TIRE WAS COMPLETELY SHREDDED AND WAS REPAIRED AT A DIFFERENT LOCATION. THE FIRST TIRE REPLACED WAS FLAT AND LEAKING AT THE SIDEWALL. IT WAS REPLACED SOME TIME AGO. *TR
I AM A VICTIM OF THE CHINESE VALVE STEM ISSUE WITH FORD VEHICLES. FORTUNATELY, I WAS TRAVELING AT A LOW SPEED WHEN THE TIRE WENT DOWN. I PUT ON THE SPARE AND DROVE HOME. WHEN I GOT HOME I NOTICED THE VALVE STEM WAS CRACKED. I PUT IN A NEW STEM, AND WENT TO INFLATE THE TIRE, ONLY TO FIND OUT THAT THERE WAS A HOLE IN THE SIDEWALL, SO THE TIRE WAS NO GOOD. TODAY I LOOKED AT THE REST OF THE WHEELS, AND INSPECTED THE REMAINING STEMS, ALL WERE CRACKED. THE CAR IS A 2007, AND WAS PLACED IN SERVICE ON MARCH 2007 IN SYRACUSE, NY, AND HAD 30,000 MILES ON IT, WITH THE ORIGINAL TIRES. I DO MOSTLY HIGHWAY DRIVING. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 MERCURY MILAN. ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS, THE TIRES WOULD LOSE COMPLETE AIR PRESSURE. THE FAILURE INCREASED THE RISK OF A CRASH. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER AND THEY STATED THAT THE VALVE STEMS WERE DEFECTIVE AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT HAS REPLACED ALL OF THE VALVE STEMS, EXCEPT FOR THE REAR DRIVER'S SIDE. THE MANUFACTURER DID NOT ASSIST. THE VALVE STEM INFORMATION WAS UNKNOWN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 5,000 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 12,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 MERCURY MILAN. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 50 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED AS THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER SENSOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 32,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 97,000.
HEAD ON COLLISION, AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. PASSENGER HAD HEAD INJURY WITH LOC.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 MERCURY MILAN. THE VEHICLE HAS MICHELIN P235/55R17 TIRES. ON THREE SEPARATE OCCASIONS, THE TIRES FLATTENED. THE VALVE STEMS WERE REPLACED ON EACH TIRE. THE DOT NUMBER WAS UNKNOWN. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 17,000 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 13,000.
I STARTED TO BACK UP OUT OF MY DRIVE WAY AND THE COIL SPRING ON THE FRONT DRIVERS SIDE SNAPPED AND WENT THROUGH THE TIRE. THAT SIDE OF THE CAR COLLAPSED AND DAMAGED THE FRONT END. THE CAR HAD TO BE TOWED TO THE REPAIR SHOP. I WAS TOLD THAT THIS FAILURE IS A COMMON OCCURRENCE WITH A FORD PRODUCT ESPECIALLY THE TAURUS. THIS PART IS BEING RECALLED ON THE TAURUS. THIS SAME EXACT PART IS NOT BEING RECALLED ON THE MERCURY. I HAD TO HAVE THE BOTH RIGHT AND LEFT FRONT COIL SPRINGS REPLACED ALONG WITH THE SWAY BARS AND BALL JOINTS. THE TIRE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE TOTAL COST CAME TO $1966.33. I AM VERY FORTUNATE THAT I WAS NOT ON THE HIGHWAY WHEN THIS HAPPENED. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 MERCURY MILAN. WHILE OPERATING THE VEHICLE AND DEPRESSING THE BRAKE PEDAL, THE ABS INDICATOR ILLUMINATED AND THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT IMMEDIATELY STOP. THE BRAKE PEDAL EXTENDED TO THE FLOOR AND THE BRAKING DISTANCE INCREASED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE ABS WAS FAULTY. THE ABS MODULE WAS REPLACED, BUT THE FAILURE CONTINUED. THE MODULE WAS REPLACED WITH THE MANUFACTURER'S UPDATED MODULE AND THE FAILURE WAS REMEDIED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 5,000.
TAKATA RECALL...WEISLEDER DEALER POINT PLEASANT NJ HAS NOT RECEIVED REPLACEMENT AIRBAGS IN OVER3 YEARS. ANSWER IS, NOTHING THEY CAN DO FOR US. WHAT IS YOUR ANSWE NOW THAT TAKATA HAS FILED FOR CHAPTER 11? NEVER THE LESS, I KEEP GETTING NOTICES IN THE MAIL.
2007 MERCURY MILAN PURCHASE NEW JULY 2007. CAR KEPT IN GARAGE MOST OF THE TIME. OCTOBER 2007 CAR WAS PARKED OUTSIDE IN RAIN. OWNER NOTICED THAT THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE FLOOR (FRONT AND BACK) CARPETS WERE SATURATED. NO WINDOWS OR DOORS WERE ACCIDENTALLY LEFT AJAR. OWNER KEPT CHECKING CAR AFTER CAR WASHES AND PASSENGER FLOOR WAS CONTINUALLY WET AFTER WASHING. CAR WENT BACK TO DEALERSHIP AND IT WAS DISCOVERED THAT THERE WAS A WELD BURN THROUGH UNDER COWL. THE BURN THROUGH WAS IN A VALLEY ALLOWING WATER HITTING THE OUTSIDE OF THE CAR TO TRAVEL INSIDE THE CAR BEHIND THE GLOVE COMPARTMENT AND INTO THE CAR. DEALER STUCK SILICONE ON THE SITE AND SAID "HERE YOU GO". CAR HAD LESS THAN 4000 MILES ON IT AT THAT TIME. OWNER WAS NOT SATISFIED. CARPETS WERE FINALLY REPLACED AND THERE WAS MOLD GROWING UNDERNEATH THE CARPET ON THE PASSENGER SIDE AND THERE IS VISUAL RUSTING IN THE SEAT TRACK AND THE DRIVER'S SEAT BRACKET ALSO HAD RUST FORMING. TL*THE CONTACT OWNED A 2007 MERCURY MILAN. ON OCTOBER 13, 2007, WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH, THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY ACCELERATED AND CRASHED INTO A VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE CONTINUED TO ACCELERATE ALTHOUGH THE CONTACTS FOOT WAS ON THE BRAKE PEDAL. THE VEHICLE CONTINUED TO ACCELERATE OVER THE MEDIAN CRASHING INTO ANOTHER VEHICLE. WHEN THE CONTACT DEPRESSED THE BRAKE PEDAL AGAINST THE MEDIAN, THE VEHICLE CAME TO A STOP. THE PASSENGERS NECK WAS BROKEN. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. TAKATA RECALL - DEALERS STATE THAT THE RECALL PARTS STILL AREN'T AVAILABLE. YET THEY SEEM TO STILL MAKE HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS OF AIRBAGS A YEAR, THEY HAVEN'T GOTTEN TO THEIR RESPONSIBILITIES.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 MERCURY MILAN. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE SUN VISOR IN HER VEHICLE WOULD BECOME UNLATCHED WHEN SHE ATTEMPTED TO PULL IT DOWN. THE VISOR BLOCKED HER ENTIRE VIEW. SHE TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER AND THEY STATED THAT ALL THE MILANS THEY INSPECTED WERE EXPERIENCING THE SAME FAILURE. THE DEALER STATED THAT NOTHING COULD BE DONE TO ASSIST. AFTER OBTAINING THE 2007 MERCURY MILAN I4 PREMIERE, I HAVE HAD TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS WITH THE 5-SPEED AUTOMATIC, INASMUCH THAT IT "JERKED" WHEN PUTTING IT INTO REVERSE AND WOULDN'T OPERATE BEYOND 3RD GEAR. AFTER TAKING IT INTO THE DEALER, COSTA MESA LINCOLN MERCURY, THE FIRST TIME THE PROBLEM APPEARED REMEDIED FOR A COUPLE OF DAYS, THEN RETURNED. I TOOK THE VEHICLE BACK INTO THE SAME DEALERS SERVICE, WHERE IT HAS BEEN FOR OVER A MONTH. I MADE MY SECOND AND THIRD PAYMENTS WHILE IT SAT IN SERVICE. AT THIS POINT, THE ENTIRE TRANSMISSION HAS BEEN REPLACED, THE CONTROLLER, SOLENOID, ETC. WHEN I PICKED IT UP THE SECOND TIME, I DIDN'T EVEN MAKE IT BACK TO THE FREEWAY WHEN THE SAME PROBLEM APPEARED AGAIN, SO I IMMEDIATELY RETURNED THE CAR A THIRD TIME TO SERVICE FOR THE SAME PROBLEM. PLEASE NOTE THAT I HAVE NO PROBLEM WITH THE DEALER, THIS IS A PROBLEM FROM THE FACTORY. THE DEALER HAD A FORD FACTORY SERVICE REP. OUT FOR THREE CONSECUTIVE DAYS, AND WHEN ASKED HOW TO FIX THE VEHICLE HE REPLIED, "REPLACE IT." THE DEALER IS SAYING THAT TO REPLACE IT WILL STILL TAKE ANOTHER 3 WEEKS OR SO. I FEEL THIS RIDICULOUS, BECAUSE THE CAR HAS BEEN AT THE DEALERS SERVICE DEPT. MORE THAN I HAVE HAD IT TO ENJOY, WHILE STILL BEING REQUIRED TO MAKE PAYMENTS. FORD/MERCURY HAD BETTER REMEDY THIS, TO MY SATISFACTION, QUICKLY! *JB
I HAVE A 2007 MERCURY MILAN AND I HAVE BEEN BOTHERED BY SLOW LEAKS IN THE TIRES SINCE I PURCHASED THE CAR IN MARCH 2007. THE TIRE PRESSURE DECREASES AT A SLOW RATE, CAUSING ME TO REFILL THE TIRES TO BRING THEM TO PROPER PRESSURE EVERY FEW DAYS. I SAW AN ARTICLE CONCERNING THE TIRE VALVES FOR THESE FORD PRODUCTS AND BELIEVE MY SITUATION IS THE SAME. *TR

THE LOCAL DEALER (BELLO FORD IN CONROY, TX) WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. IN ADDITION, THE RECALL NOTICE FOR NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V384000 (AIR BAGS) WAS RECEIVED IN JUNE OF 2016. AFTER CONTACTING THE SAME DEALER AND THE MANUFACTURER, THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE PARTS NEEDED TO REPAIR THE DEFECT WERE NOT YET AVAILABLE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.
WE HAVE NOT RECEIVED ANY FURTHER WORD TOWARD RESOLVING THIS COMPLAINT.
I WAS SENT A LETTER STATING THAT MY VEHICLE HAS BEEN RECALLED FOR A DEFECT IN THE AIRBAG. I CALLED A FEW MONTHS LATER AND ASKED WHEN IT QILL GWT FIXED AND WAS TOLD WHEN THE PART SHIPMENT COMES IN A WILL RECEIVE A LETTER OR A CALL STATNG WHEN TO BRING IT IN. IF THE PROBLEM WAS'T GOING TO BE FIXED WHEN I RECIEVED THE LETTER ONE SHOULDN'T HAVE BEEN SENT OUT. THIS PROCESS IS TAKING LONGER THAN IT SHOULD AND NEEDS TO BE FIXED SOON. WHO KNOWS WHEN AN ACCIDENT IS GOING TO HAPPEN WETHER ITS MY FAULT OR NOT, ME AND MY FAMILY ARE GOING TO BE SERIOUSLY HURT. THEN I WILL BE FORCED TO TAKE LEGAL ACTIONS.
