TAKATA RECALL-IT HAS BEEN OVER A YEAR SINCE THE RECALL WAS ISSUED. I'M TOLD THAT DRIVING MY CAR PUTS ME AND MY FAMILY AT RUSH, BUT FORD STILL HASN'T GOTTEN ANYTHING DONE.
NOTHING HAS HAPPENED AS YET (MY VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT). BUT I AM CONCERNED WITH FORD COMPANY'S SLOW PROCESSING OF THIS RECALL OF TAKATA FRONTAL AIRBAGS. I RECEIVED MY FIRST RECALL NOTICE IN JULY OF 2016 AND HAVE CONTACTED FORD DEALERS IN 3 STATES OVER THE PAST YEAR. "PARTS NOT YET AVAILABLE" IS THE CONSISTENT RESPONSE. NOW THAT TK HOLDINGS AND ITS PARENT COMPANY TAKATA HAVE FILED FOR BANKRUPTCY IN SEVERAL COUNTRIES, I AM CONCERNED THAT THE REPLACEMENT WILL NOT TAKE PLACE AT ALL, AND THAT MY FAMILY MAY UNDERGO SERIOUS INJURY SHOULD THE BAGS MALFUNCTION IN THE EVENT OF AN IMPACT. I WOULD ASK THAT ANY PRESSURE POSSIBLE BE PLACED ON THE COMPANIES INVOLVED TO ENSURE THAT THE RECALL AND REPLACEMENT OF THIS CRITICAL SAFETY FEATURE IS HONORED AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.
TAKATA RECALL. I RECEIVED A LETTER FROM FORD IN JULY 2016 NOTIFYING ME OF THE RECALL. I HAVE CONTACTED MY DEALER SEVERAL TIMES IN THE LAST YEAR AND HALF AND THEY HAVE NEVER HAD A REPLACEMENT BAG AVAILABLE, CITING THE PARTS HAVE NOT YET BEEN AVAILABLE TO THEM. THIS IS AN EXTREMELY LONG WAIT FOR A DEADLY RECALL AND WOULD LIKE TO GET THIS TAKEN CARE OF AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.

TAKATA RECALL. HAVE MADE MULTIPLE ATTEMPTS TO REPLACE THE DEFECTIVE AIRBAGS BUT NONE OF THE DEALERSHIPS HAVE THE REPAIR KIT.
TAKATA RECALL, I HAVE RECEIVED THE NOTICE 2 YEARS AGO AND YET NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE IN ORDER TO FIX THE PROBLEM. I AM AFRAID TO HAVE SOMEONE SITTING UP FRONT, AND WHEN WILL THIS BE DONE? HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO GET THIS FIXED.? OTHER CARS WERE DONE, BUT NOT MERCURY'S, WHY?? THE ONE PORTION OF THE AIRBAG COMPARTMENT IS RAISED UP A LITTLE. I M WORRIED A GOOD BUMP WILL SET IT OFF.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 MERCURY MILAN. WHILE DEPRESSING THE BRAKE PEDAL TO STOP THE VEHICLE, THE PEDAL TRAVELED TO THE FLOOR AND THE BRAKING DISTANCE INCREASED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE HYDRAULIC CONTROL UNIT WAS FAULTY AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. TAKATA RECALL I TRIED CALLING SEVERAL LINCOLN DEALERSHIPS TO HAVE THE AIRBAG INFLATORS REPAIRED BUT NONE OF THE DEALERSHIPS HAVE RECEIVED THE PARTS NEEDED AND HAVE BEEN WAITING SINCE JUNE 2016. I CAN'T SELL THE VEHICLE WHICH ONLY HAS 29,000 MILES ON IT BECAUSE OF THEIR FAILURE TO SUPPLY THE REPAIR PARTS NEEDED. I CAN'T DRIVE THE CAR BECAUSE I'M AFRAID TO!

TAKATA RECALL 16V384. A RECALL WAS ISSUED IN JUNE 2016 FOR MY VEHICLE REGARDING A POTENTIALLY DEFECTIVE AIRBAG INFLATOR THAT COULD RUPTURE, CREATING A RISK OF PERSONAL INJURY OF DEATH. AS OF NOVEMBER 2017, NO REPAIR HAS BEEN MADE AVAILABLE, WHICH IS UNACCEPTABLE.

TAKATA RECALL FORD HAS NOW WARNED US BY MAIL THAT WE SHOULD NOT ALLOW ANYONE TO SIT IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT OF THIS VEHICLE. THEY HAVE ALSO ADVISED THAT REPAIRS WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE UNTIL SPRING 2018 AND THAT THOSE REPAIRS WILL BE MADE IN A PRIORITY ORDER DETERMINED BY THE NHTSA. THIS IS TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE. SINCE THE REMEDY PARTS HAVE ALREADY BEEN DELAYED ONCE, IT IS POSSIBLE THAT THIS CAR COULD BE UNSAFE FOR A FRONT SEAT PASSENGER FOR A VERY LONG TIME. SINCE THIS IS THE SECOND OF OUR CARS NOW CONSIDERED UNSAFE FOR FRONT SEAT PASSENGERS, WE ARE VERY UPSET. SOMETHING MORE HAS TO BE DONE TO GET THESE REPAIRS COMPLETED IN A MORE TIMELY MANNER. ALSO, WE PLANNED TO SELL THIS CAR IN THE NEXT YEAR. NO ONE WILL WANT TO PURCHASE A VEHICLE WITH AN UNUSABLE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT, SO WE NOW HAVE A VEHICLE WITH NO RESALE VALUE. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 MERCURY MILAN. WHILE DRIVING AT AN UNKNOWN SPEED OVER A BUMP, THE BRAKE PEDAL HAD TO BE ENGAGED WITH FORCE TO STOP THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE RECURRED NUMEROUS TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION AND THE TECHNICIAN ADVISED THAT THE ABS PUMP NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 54,000.
RECENTLY, IF THE A BUMP IN THE ROAD IS HIT WHILE BRAKING, THE BRAKES WILL "GO OUT" AND MUST BE PUSHED TO THE FLOOR BEFORE THE CAR WILL STOP. THIS GREATLY INCREASES STOPPING DISTANCE AND POSES SIGNIFICANT SAFETY CONCERNS. AFTER THIS OCCURS, THE BRAKES RETURN TO NORMAL AFTER BEING "PUMPED UP". THIS HAS OCCURRED 6-7 TIMES OVER THE PAST FEW MONTHS AND IS BECOMING MUCH MORE FREQUENT. I READ VERY SIMILAR ACCOUNTS IN THE COMPLAINTS SECTION BUT I DO NOT SEE WHERE AN INVESTIGATION HAS BEEN OPENED REGARDING THIS. IT APPEARS THAT MULTIPLE PEOPLE HAVE HAD THEIR MASTER CYLINDERS REPLACED WITHOUT RESOLUTION OF THE PROBLEM. THE CONSENSUS SEEMS TO BE A MALFUNCTION OF THE ABS WHICH IS A VERY COSTLY REPAIR.
SEVERAL FACTORS:9 MONTHS AFTER PURCHASING NEW, ACCELERATOR STUCK AND WAS NOT PART OF THE FLOOR MAT RECALL, DEALER BRUSHED ME OFF. IN OCT/NOV 2015 BRAKING SYSTEM FAILED, MASTERCYLINDER HAD A CRACK IN IT AND FLUID WAS EMPTY, THIS WAS AT 62,000 MILES. YESTERDAY BRAKES FAILED AGAIN, SHOES/PADS WORN OUT, HUB/ROTOR DENTED, BEARINGS REPLACED, AND WAS TOLD NOT TO DRIVE UNTIL REPAIRED, 64,000 MILES CURRENTLY ON CAR. ALSO, THE INTERIOR CONTROLS ON THE DASH ARE STARTING TO COME LOOSE FROM DASH. I WORRY ABOUT MY SAFETY EVERY TIME A DRIVE THIS CAR. THE OUTSIDE LOOKS GREAT. I AM THE ORIGINAL ONE -OWNER. VERY UPSET TO BE SPENDING SO MUCH ON A LOW MILEAGE CAR. I HAVE ALL MY RECEIPTS FOR WORK PERFORMED. INFORMED CORP. FORD YESTERDAY AND GOT A I'M SORRY FROM DOROTHY. IN OCT .2015 I HAD TO SLAM ON BRAKES FOR EMERGENCY STOP. AFTER CONTINUING ON THE NEXT TIME I APPLIED BRAKES, THE PEDAL WENT TO FLOOR. I PUMPED PEDAL TILL I HAD BRAKES BUT NEXT TIME PEDAL WENT BACK TO FLOOR. AFTER GETTING TO MY STOP I SHUT ENGINE OFF AND CAR SIT FOR APPROX. 20 MINUTES. RESTARTED AND BRAKES WORKED NORMALLY TILL MAY 15, 2016. CAR WAS DRIVEN ON FREEWAY TILL I EXITIED. PEDAL THEN WENT ALMOST TO FLOOR, NOT SLOWING. I QUICKLY HAD TO PUMP PEDAL TO STOP CAR. DROVE TO CLOSEST FORD DEALER AND EXPLAINED MY DELIMA. BRAKE FLUID LEVEL WAS CHECKED AND FOUND NORMAL. SERVICE DEPT. WAS CLOSED SO I RESTARTED CAR AND BRAKE PEDAL OPERATELY NORMALLY. CAR HAS 81000 MILES. NO DOUBT THIS WILL HAPPEN AGAIN. NO CLUE WHY ???

IF THE BRAKES ARE EVER HIT SUDDENLY, THE BRAKE PEDAL GOES ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR THE NEXT TIME IT IS USED. BRAKING HAPPENS BUT ONLY WHEN THE PEDAL NEARLY REACHES THE FLOOR. THIS CHANGE IN PEDAL LOCATION WITH NO WARNING IS VERY DANGEROUS. THE BRAKE WILL RE-SET AFTER SOME TIME, RANGING FROM A FEW DAYS TO UP TO A MONTH. I HAD THE BRAKES SERVIED (ALL WHEELS). MY MECHANIC TESTED THE ABS SENSOR AND SAID THAT WAS NOT THE PROBLEM. HE WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM.

I HAVE BEEN IN CONTACT WITH SEVERAL FORD DEALERSHIPS AND THEY WILL NOT EVEN TALK TO ME ABOUT IT I WAS IN CONTACT WITH THE CUSTOMER SERVICE THROUGH FORD AND WAS TOLD A SUPERVISOR WOULD CONTACT ME AND I NEVER HEARD ANYTHING FROM THEM. THIS THIS IS OUR ONLY FAMILY CAR AND THERE IS 4 OF US WE CANNOT RIDE IN THIS CAR SAFELY. I DO NOT FEEL SAFE RIDING THIS CAR.

BRAKES ARE VERY SPONGY IN ALL ACTIONS. THE BRAKES HAVE BEEN BLED, HAVE NEW BRAKE PADS AND THERE ARE NO LEAKS IN THE SYSTEM. I HAVE READ OTHER MERCURY MILANS AND FORD FOCUS HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM, BRAKE PEDAL GOING TOO LOW TO THE FLOOR BOARD. I FEEL THAT THIS COULD DEVELOP INTO A FUTURE SAFETY PROBLEM.
