While I was driving check engine light, service wrench light came on also. The vehicle began to idle surge at stop light and when parked. Throttle response was reduced to minimal operation .Ran the codes code came up P2119 throttle body fault. Once vehicle cools down the light may shut off but does come back on while driving.

TAKATA INFLATORS : I PICKED UP MY 2010 MERCURY MILAN AFTER BEING ADVISED OF THE RECALL AND WAS TOLD MY VEHICLE COULD NOT BE DRIVEN I RECEIVED A CALL TODAY AFTER 2 MONTHS STATING MY CAR WAS READY AS I ARRIVED TO THE DEALERSHIP I RETURNED THE RENTAL AND TRIED TO START MY OWN CAR AND COULD NOT THE VEHICLE WAS JUMPED AND I LEFT DEALER TURNED INTO TRAFFIC AND COULD NOT ACCELERATE AS THE CAR WAS SEIZED UP INTO 2ND GEAR THE BELTS HAVE POSSIBLE DRY ROT BRAKES HAVE CORROSION FROM THE CAR BEING STATIONARY ALL THE TIME WAITING ON PARTS. I RETURNED TO THE DEALER WHERE I WAS TOLD MANY CARS ARE HAVING NUMEROUS ISSUES AND THEY COULD NOT HELP ME AND I WAS THEN LEFT TO DRIVE MY UNSAFE VEHICLE HOME

AT 71,000 MILES VEHICLE DEVELOPED FAILURE OF ELECTRONIC THROTTLE BODY. THIS LEAD TO CAR ENTERING "LIMP HOME" MODE. OCCURRED IN BUSY TRAFFIC EXPOSING PASSENGERS TO POTENTIAL RISK - NO INJURY OCCURRED. FORD HAS ACKNOWLEDGED ETB DEFECTS IN 2010 MILAN VIA THEIR CUSTOMER SATISFACTION PROGRAM 13NO3. HOWEVER THIS PROGRAM DOES NOT APPLY TO HYBRIDS. EVENT BEING REPORTED TO LEND CREDENCE TO POTENTIAL THAT ISSUE ALSO EXTENDS TO HYBRID MODEL(S).
ENGINE GOES TO 4000 AT HIGHWAY SPEED AND TRANSMISSION SLIPS WHILE DRIVING AT 70 ON INTERSTATE. WON'T SHIFT UNLESS THROTTLE IS BACKED WAY OFF. AT LOW SPEED ON 2-1 DOWNSHIFT, IT BANGS INTO GEAR JERKING YOU OUT OF THE SEAT AND CAUSING POSSIBLE LOSS OF CONTROL. ONLY DOES IT ON SLIGHT INCLINES. 2010 MILAN HYBRID LOST POWER ON TWO OCCASIONS IN HEAVY FAST INTERSTATE TRAFFIC. SAFE TO PULLOVER LIGHT ILLUMINATED, MAX SPEED OF 5MPH , DEALER REPLACED 12V BATTERY FIRST TIME. 4 TO SIX MONTHS LATER, SAME DANGEROUS SCENARIO AND ONE MORE TIME TRYING TO GET VEHICLE TO A DEALER.THE DEALER SAID IT WAS A DEFECTIVE ELECTRONIC THROTTLE BODY. THE ONLY RECALL WAS ON MODELS AFTER 2010 BEGINNING IN 2011. THE 2010 WERE NEVER RECALLED ALTHOUGH NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS. 54000 MILES ON VEHICLE.
WHILE MERGING INTO TRAFFIC ON THE INTERSTATE, MY CAR (2010 MERCURY MILAN HYBRID) SUDDENLY LOST POWER AND DISPLAYED THE "CHECK ENGINE LIGHT" AS WELL AS THE "WRENCH SYMBOL LIGHT". I ACTIVATED MY EMERGENCY LIGHTS AND EXITED THE INTERSTATE AT THE NEXT EXIT. AFTER TURNING OFF THE CAR AND WAITING FOR 5 MINUTES, I RESTARTED THE CAR. ONLY THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS STILL DISPLAYED. AFTER TESTING THE POWER OF THE CAR IN THE PARKING LOT AND IT SEEMED OKAY, WE WENT BACK ON THE INTERSTATE TO RETURN TO OUR HOTEL. AFTER RESEARCHING THE PROBLEM ON THE INTERNET AND FINDING MULTIPLE INCIDENTS SIMILAR TO OUR PROBLEM, WE LOOKED FOR AN AREA FORD DEALER TO REPAIR THE CAR (WE WERE ON VACATION OVER 500 MILES FROM HOME.) THE NEXT DAY WHILE DRIVING TO THE FORD DEALER FOR REPAIR, THE CAR DID THE SAME THING - WHILE MERGING INTO TRAFFIC ON AN INTERSTATE, THE CAR LOST POWER AND WOULD NOT ACCELERATE AND DISPLAYED THE WRENCH SYMBOL. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT HAD NEVER GONE OFF SINCE ILLUMINATING THE DAY BEFORE. AFTER STOPPING THE CAR ALONG THE INTERSTATE AND TURNING IT OFF AND BACK ON, THE CAR HAD ADEQUATE POWER FOR THE REMAINING TRIP TO THE FORD DEALER. THE DIAGNOSIS AT THE DEALER WAS A FAULTY THROTTLE BODY FAILURE. THE SERVICE MANAGER SAID MY CAR'S VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN FORD'S CUSTOMER SATISFACTION PROGRAM 13N03 EVEN THOUGH IT WAS SIMILAR AGE/MODEL OF THE OTHER CARS IN THE PROGRAM. I BELIEVE MY CAR SHOULD BE INCLUDED IN THIS PROGRAM. THE SITUATION CAUSED BY THE THROTTLE BODY FAILURE COULD LEAD TO SEVERE INJURY OR DEATH WHILE DRIVING ON AN INTERSTATE.

WAS DRIVING DOWN THE INTERSTATE AT 65 MPH, VEHICLE SUDDENLY LOST ACCELERATION AND ENGINE AND THROTTLE/POWER TRAIN INDICATOR LIGHTS ILLUMINATED ON THE DASH. HAD TO PULL OFF ON THE SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY. I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY AND THEN MY GAS PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR AND HAD NO POWER. I PULLED OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND WHEN I LIFTED THE HOOD THE WHOLE ENGINE WAS SHAKING. I SHUT OFF THE CAR. LET IT SIT FOR A COUPLE OF MINUTES AND IT STARTED UP SLOWLY. RAN FOR ABOUT 10 MILES AND DID IT AGAIN AT 35 MPH. PULLED OVER SHUT OFF CAR AND WAITED(AS A POLICE OFFICER PULLED UP TO MY CAR). STARTED THE CAR AGAIN AND MADE IT TO OUR CAMPSITE. WE WERE 3 HOURS FROM HOME. I WENT ONLINE AND FOUND ALL OF THESE PROBLEMS WITH THIS CAR. I ENDED UP AT O REILLY AUTO PARTS AND FIXED THE THROTTLE BODY IN THE PARKING LOT. HAS BEEN RUNNING SLIGHTLY ROUGH SINCE THIS HAPPENED. THEN THIS MORNING(3 WEEKS LATER) I STARTED THE CAR AND THE RADIO AND INFO ON IT DOES NOT WORK. STILL WORKING ON THIS PROBLEM. ANY THOUGHT WOULD BE HELPFUL. I THINK IT IS TIME TO GET RID OF THE MERCURY AND GO BACK TO CHEVY.
