I buckle the seat belt and it just comes unbuckled spontaneously when I’m driving. I check to see if the seat belt is secure by pulling on it. It seems secure but still unbuckles. I usually have to redo my seatbelt every 5 minutes. I do not feel like it will keep me safe in a collision
My husband had purchased 4 brand new COOPER TIRES EVOLUTION H/T M+S size P235 / 65 R 18 a number of years ago. My husband has since passed away. I cannot find my sales receipt due to the fact my husband had paid for the tires in question. I do not know what he did with the sales receipt. I have a few good-faith efforts and attempts to bring this matter to COOPER TIRES but each and every time I got the same reply from them "NO we cannot help you. We will not be able to warranty your tires for you......we need a sales receipt......" I had my good friend take my vehicle to a local tire dealer and installer recommended by COOPER TIRES and this tire dealer found that: (1) all 4 COOPER TIRES on my vehicle look and are brand new (2) tire tread depth on all 4 COOPER TIRES on my vehicle are 8/32 " (3) three COOPER TIRES on my vehicle show a DOT date code of 2017 and one COOPER TIRE on my car shows a DOT date code of 3817 (4) all four COOPER TIRES on my vehicle have numerous cracks on the sidewall of the tires which is a manufacture defective and COOPER TIRES should replace all 4 tires on my car (5) the right-rear COOPER tire on my vehicle is leaking air from the sidewall due to the cracks. (6) COOPER TIRES should under the law include my tires under their national recall list because the COOPER TIRES on my vehicle have the same (1) make and model tire (2) the exact same size tire (3) all 4 COOPER TIRES on vehicle were made in the same factory as the rest of the recall tires (4) three of the COOPER TIRES on my vehicle have an issue with the date code (see recall NHTSA Campaign Number: 21T014000 for more info). I could go on and on but I think you get the idea. Also, I will hold COOPER TIRES legally liable if I get into a car accident due to its manufacture defective COOPER tires. The exact dates my good friend has contacted COOPER TIRES are: (1) May 01, 2024 (four times); (2) May 02, 2024 (three times). I asked for a call back but nobody returned my call.
If you set cruise control while driving under 45 mph the engine shuts off.
It happens every time I drive this vehicle. The ignition is lose, so the key jiggles and if their is too much bumping or shaking the key slightly moves and the seat and interior lights come on now I’ve tried Combat the issue with keeping the lights off on the interior and thought maybe I could turn off the seat function still haven’t figured that out yet
I was driving on the expressway and my truck just shut off. The car panel Illuminati to a check engine light and a wrench. I had to put on my caution light and make it to the shoulder. That was scary. I sat for 10 minutes before it started back up. I've taken it to the dealership and all they did was guess what the problem could be. They said it might be the fuel pump or something electric or the computer. That's not doing me any good, because I'm still having this problem.
HAD TO REPLACE TRANSMISSION COMPLETELY AT 137,000 MILES. THERE'S BEEN A LOT OF COMPLAINTS ABOUT THESE TRANSMISSIONS AT THIS MILEAGE AND FORD SHOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR SOME OF THE COST. THIS IS RIDICULOUS.
The contact owns a 2007 Mercury Mountaineer. The contact stated that after shifting the transmission from park(P) to reverse(R), the vehicle failed to respond. The contact removed and reinserted the fob key in the ignition to correct the failure. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who diagnosed that an unknown transmission part needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The mechanic instructed the contact to pull the park release lever each time to shift the vehicle out of park (P). The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and advised the contact to file a complaint with the NHTSA Hotline. The failure mileage was approximately 78,000.
1ST WHILE DRIVING THE DRIVER'S SEAT CONTINUES TO MOVE BACK N FORTH FROM WAY BACK TO UP CLOSE DRIVING THIS VEHICLE WHILE THIS SEAT MOVES IS VERY DANGEROUS EVERYTIME I LOCK THE DOORS THEY UNLOCK N ONLY LOCK WHEN OFF
I AM RECEIVING FALSE READINGS AS TO THE ACTIVATION OF THE AIR BAGS. THIS HAPPENS WHEN I AM STARTING THE VEHICLE AND ALSO WHEN I AM OPERATING THE VEHICLE ON THE HIGHWAY. I CAN TURN THE VEHICLE OFF AND RESTART IT, AND SOMETIMES THE INDICATOR WORKS PROPERLY AND SOMETIMES IT DOES NOT. I EXPERIENCE THE SAME PROBLEM SOMETIMES WHEN THE PASSENGER SEAT IS OCCUPIED. MY CONCERN IS THE FACT I DON'T KNOW IF MY AIRBAG IS OPERATIONAL OR NOT. I CONTACTED MY LOCAL DEALER AND WAS INFORMED I WOULD BE CHARGED $99 TO JUST HAVE IT CHECKED. I HAVE NOT DONE SO.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURES OCCURRED PERIODICALLY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING OR REPAIRS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 207,000.
CAR RAN ROUGH & HESITATED/SURGED UPON ACCELERATION. APPARENTLY THIS IS A COMMON FORD PROBLEM INVOLVING PREMATURE SPARK PLUG BREAK DOWN IN THE FORD TRITON ENGINE SEE FORD SPARK PLUG CLASS ACTION SETTLEMENT. SHULTZ FORD IN NANUET NY DIAGNOSED THE PROBLEM AS FAULTY PLUGS, THERE WAS ALSO A RISK OF BREAKING PLUGS UPON REMOVAL. I HAD THEM DO THE REPAIRS AT A COST OF $788. LATER I FOUND THAT THERE WAS A SETTLEMENT, HOWEVER MY CAR WAS NOT INCLUDED EVEN THOUGH IT HAD THE SAME ENGINE AS THE CARS/TRUCKS/ SUV'S THAT WERE INCLUDED IN THE SETTLEMENT. FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE SAID THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO RE: REIMBURSING ME FOR THE REPAIR EXPENSE AS MY SUV WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE SETTLEMENT. THEY SUGGESTED I FILE THIS COMPLAINT. CAN I GET SOME SATISFACTION?

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC AND IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION FAILED. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. INTERMITTENTLY, THE SEAT MOVES TO THE 'EASY EGRESS' POSITION WHILE THE CAR IS IN MOTION. THE DOME LIGHT COMES ON, AS IT WOULD IF YOU WERE GETTING OUT OF THE CAR. FROM READING THE MANY SIMILAR COMPLAINTS, I AGREE THAT IT HAPPENS WHEN BRAKING OR TURNING AND IT HAPPENS AT ALL SPEEDS. THIS STARTED HAPPENING ABOUT ONE MONTH AGO. NO ACCIDENT YET BUT IT'S VERY JARRING AND DANGEROUS.
I HAD TO REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION AND SOME OTHER RELATED PARTS IN MY VEHICLE AND I WAS INFORMED BY A DEALERSHIP THAT THERE WAS A "SILENT RECALL" ON THIS TRANSMISSION AND THAT EVEN THOUGH FORD MOTOR COMPANY WAS AWARE OF THE ISSUES AS EARLY AS 2000 THEY CONTINUE TO INSTALL THEM IN VEHICLES. IF YOU LOOK ONLINE YOU WILL SEE QUITE A NUMBER OF COMPLAINTS ON THIS TRANSMISSION. I FEEL SINCE FORD KNOWINGLY KEPT USING THESE TRANSMISSIONS AND WAS WELL AWARE OF THEIR POSSIBLE FAILURE WHEN THEY REACHED 130,000 MILES THAT THEY SHOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR AT LEAST A PORTION OF HE COSTS IF INDEED, NOT ALL OF THE COST OF REPLACEMENT. WHAT HAPPENS WHEN A CAR COMPANY PUTS OUT A SILENT RECALL? DO I HAVE ANY RIGHTS? I HAVE ALREADY SENT A CERTIFIED LETTER TO FORD MOTOR CUSTOMER RELATIONS IN DEARBORN, MI AND I HAVE A SIGNED RECEIPT THAT THEY ACCEPTED MY LETTER BUT THEY HAVE NOT BOTHERED TO CONTACT ME AT ALL. WHAT ARE MY OPTIONS AND IS THIS SOMETHING YOU CAN HELP ME WITH? THE FIRST TIME THIS TRANSMISSION CAUSED A PROBLEM WAS WHEN WE WERE IN 5 PM TRAFFIC ON A ROAD WITH A SPEED LIMIT OF 55 MILES AN HOUR AND THE CAR JUST STOPPED LEAVING MY FAMILY IN THE MIDDLE OF A BUSY TWO LANE ROAD WHICH WAS VERY DANGEROUS. WE WERE FINALLY ABLE TO GET THE VEHICLE TO THE SHOULDER. I CAN FORWARD MY BILLS AND COPIES OF ONLINE CONVERSATIONS REGARDING THE FAILURE OF THESE TRANSMISSIONS.
WHILE DRIVING MY SEAT WILL RANDOMLY MOVE BACK AND FORTH AS IF I TOOK THE KEYS OUT. THOUGHT SOMETHING WAS WRONG WITH MY TRANSMISSION BUT AFTER HAVING THE GARAGE PUT TRANSMISSION FLUID IN IT STILL FEELS LIKE THE TRANSMISSION IS MESSED UP EVEN THOUGH THE GARAGE SAYS THE TRANSMISSION IS FINE.
CAN'T REGISTER MY VEHICLE BECAUSE I'M TOLD THAT THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER IS NOT LEGAL FOR USE IN CALIFORNIA, AND IT IS NOT AVAILABLE AFTER AN EXTENSIVE NATION WIDE SEARCH OF DIFFERENT CATALYTIC CONVERTER MANUFACTURERS. HOW OR CAN YOU HELP ME TO RESOLVE THIS MATTER.
WHILE DRIVING MY CHILDREN TO SCHOOL THIS MORNING MY SEAT ADJUSTED ITSELF A COUPLE OF TIMES SO THAT I HAD A DIFFICULT TIME REACHING THE PEDALS UNTIL I COULD GET IT BACK TO THE PROPER POSITION. THIS HAS HAPPENED BEFORE BUT I THOUGHT IT WAS A "FLUKE". TODAY, WHEN I PICKED MY KIDS UP AND DROVE HOME IT HAPPENED 7 TIMES IN 3 MILES AND ALMOST CAUSED ME TO HIT A PEDESTRIAN. THIS HAPPENED ON A CITY STREET. I WAS UNABLE TO ISOLATE A "TRIGGER" TO THE MOVEMENT. ONE TIME I WAS GOING ABOUT 30 ON A STREET, ANOTHER TIME I WAS SLOWING DOWN TO A STOP SIGN AT A BUSY INTERSECTION.
MY 2007 MERCURY MOUNTAINEER NEVER HAD ANY PROBLEMS UNTIL RECENTLY, THOUGHT IT WAS THE TRANSMISSION BECAUSE OF THE WAY IT DROVE. TOOK IT TO THE MECHANIC AND GOT TRANSMISSION FLUID PUT IN BUT THE PROBLEMS REMAINED THE SAME AND WAS TOLD THE TRANSMISSION WAS FINE. MY THERMOSTAT HOUSING UNIT WAS LEAKING (THIS IS VERY COMMON WITH THESE CARS AND VERY DANGEROUS, NEEDS IMMEDIATE ATTENTION!) AND HAD CAUSED VERY EXPENSIVE WIRING ISSUES. ALMOST ACTS EXACTLY LIKE THE TRANSMISSION IS GOING OUT - RPM'S ARE WAY TOO HIGH, THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT ACCELERATE IN THE MIDDLE OF CITY TRAFFIC, THE CAR JUMPED AT A STOPLIGHT AND CAUSED ME TO HIT THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME, AND IT DOESN'T SHIFT PROPERLY. PROBLEMS OCCURRED OUT OF NOWHERE AND ARE TOO DANGEROUS TO BE IGNORED BUT VERY EXPENSIVE TO BE FIXED. ITS VERY COMMON AND SHOULD BE RECALLED BEFORE SOMEONE GETS SERIOUSLY INJURED!!!!
UPON DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY THE INSIDE DOME LIGHTS CAME ON AND MY SEAT STARTED ADJUSTING ITSELF BACK AND FORTH WHILE DRIVING.
I WAS DRIVING HOME ON A BUSY CITY STREET WHEN I STOP AT A STOP LIGHT TO TURN RIGHT. WHEN I WENT TO ACCELERATE MY MERCURY MOUNTAINEER WHEN IN TO LIMP MODE. AS I INSPECTED THE SUV FOR PROBLEMS I NOTICED THE MY ENGINE/TRANSMISSION WIRE HARNESS WAS BRITTLE AND EXPOSING BARE WIRE AND THAT THE WIRES WERE TOUCHING EACH OTHERS CAUSE THEM TO SHORT OFF THE VEHICLE COMPUTER SYSTEM AND FRYING ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS. IT ALSO CAUSED THE TRANSMISSION TO MALFUNCTION AND SHIFT WRONG WHICH IN TURN CAUSING THE TORQUE CONVERTER TO FAIL AND DESTROY THE TRANSMISSION.
TRANSMISSION WOULD NOT SHIFT OUT OF LOW GEAR
PASSENGER SEATBELT LOCKS WILL NOT UNLOCK UNLESS YOU UNBUCKEL THE BELT IT JUST KEEPS GETTING TIGHTER HAVE A PROBLEM WHERE THE YOU PUSH DOWN ON GAS IT WON'T DO ANYTHING FOR A MOMENT THEN JOLT FORWARD AN THE MAIN PROBLEM IT WITH THE ELECTRIC IF YOU BARLEY TOUCH THE IGNITION SWITCH OR CONTROLS FOR THE SEAT THE SEAT MOVES THE IGNITION ALSO NOT ONLY MOVES THE SEAT BUT A COUPLE TIMES IT HAS SHUT THE CAR OFF AND ONCE LOCKED US IN THE CAR HAD TO PUT THE KEYS IN AND START TO GET IT TO UNLOCK AND ONCE LOCKED US OUT WITH KEYS STILL IN IGNITION SWITCH

WHEN DRIVING THE VEHICLE AT ANY SPEED THE SEAT MOVES ALL THE WAY BACK AND THE INTERIOR LIGHTS COME ON. THIS ALSO HAPPENS WHEN YOU BRAKE OR GO OVER A BUMP. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS TO SOMEONE OF MY SIZE BECAUSE WHEN THE SEAT GOES ALL THE WAY BACK I CAN NO LONGER TOUCH THE PEDALS. THIS IS HAPPENING VERY OFTEN AND I HAVE GOOGLED IT AND I CAN SEE THAT A LOT OF OTHER PEOPLE WHO OWN THIS YEAR MAKE AND MODEL ARE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEMS WITH THEIR VEHICLE. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO SEVERAL MECHANICS AND FORD DEALERS AND NOBODY SEEMS TO BE ABLE TO FIGURE OUT WHAT IS WRONG WITH IT.
THE REAR HATCH HINGE ON THE GLASS BROKE WHEN OPENING. IT ALMOST HIT ME IN THE HEAD
A REPAIR SHOP TOLD ME THAT MY ENGINE WAS LEAKING COOLANT THAT COULD MAKE THE ENGINE RUN HOT AND FAIL. AFTER DOING SOME ONLINE RESEARCH, I FOUND THAT THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THESE VEHICLES AS FORD USED A CHEAP PLASTIC PART WHICH EASILY CRACKS AND ALLOWS COOLANT TO LEAK. THE LEAK ALSO AFFECTS OTHER PARTS OF THE ENGINE CAUSE THEM TO PERFORM IMPROPERLY. FORD IS AWARE OF THIS PROBLEM BUT HAS FAILED TO ISSUE A RECALL DESPITE THEIR KNOWLEDGE AND THE RISKS TO THE CONSUMER.
THE DRIVERS SEAT, WILL, WITHOUT WARNING, WHILE DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE, AUTOMATICALLY START MOVING BACKWARDS TO IT'S DEFAULT POSITION. SOMETIMES THE INTERIOR LIGHT WILL COME ON SIMULTANEOUSLY. IN A PANIC, SO FAR, I HAVE BEEN ABLE TO STOP THE BACKWARD MOVEMENT BY GRABBING THE SEAT POSITION BUTTON AND FORCING IT TO MOVE BACK UP TO THE PRESET POSITION WHERE I HAVE BEEN ABLE TO GET MY FEET BACK ON THE PEDALS. THIS HAS OCCURRED MULTIPLE TIMES WHILE DRIVING FULL SPEED ON INTERSTATES, ON SIDE STREETS AND FRONTAGE ROADS AND EVERYTIME WITHOUT WARNING. ONE TIME, WHILE SITTING AT A STOP SIGN, I COULD NOT CATCH IT QUICKLY ENOUGH AND IT MOVED SO FAR BACK THAT MY FEET COULD NOT REACH ANY OF THE PEDALS! LUCKILY THAT TIME I WAS SITTING STILL. THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING FOR THREE YEARS.
EXACT SAME AS NHTSA ID # 10654146. THE "EASY EXIT" FEATURE ACTIVATED AT 65 MPH IN FREEWAY TRAFFIC. I AM 6' TALL AND WAS ABLE TO SLIDE SEAT FORWARD, BUT MY WIFE IS 5' TALL AND MAY HAVE HAD ISSUES REACHING THE PEDALS... THIS HAS SINCE HAPPENED ON 3 OTHER OCCASIONS ( 2 AT FREEWAY SPEED, AND ONCE PULLING INTO OUR DRIVEWAY). I WILL CONTACT DEALER, BUT WANTED SEARCH RECALLS FIRST. *TR

THE SAME AS OTHER COMPLAINTS EXCEPT IT IS AN ONGOING PROBLEM. EASY EXIT FEATURE ACTIVATES ON ITS OWN, DOME LIGHT COMES ON AT SLOW OR MODERATE SPEED, SUDDEN STOPS AND TURNING. SOMETIMES IT CORRECTS ITSELF AND SOMETIMES YOU HAVE TO MANUALLY ADJUST THE SEAT. VERY ANNOYING AND UNSAFE
PURCHASE 4 NEW TIRES MARCH 9, 2013 FROM OUR LOCAL MR. TIRE IN MARION OHIO. THEY STARTED GOING BAD THIS SUMMER. WENT TO MANAGER AND WAS TOLD YOU NEVER HAD THEN ROTATED AS TOLD. WE DID GO AFTER 6 MONTHS OF PURCHASE AND TOLD TO COME BACK NEXT DAY SINCE THEY WERE TOO BUSY THAT DAY. THEY WERE NOT NICE AND I CALLED TIRE COMPANY GITI TIRE AND WAS TOLD TO HAVE THE STORE CALL THEM WHICH MR. TIRE NEVER DID, MANY LIFE EVENTS HAVE HAPPENED SINCE THEN AND NEVER WENT BACK. THE TWO BACK TIRES NOW HAVE SHARP METAL COMING THRU AS FOUND BY MY SON WHEN I ALMOST WRECKED IN THE RAIN YESTERDAY. THE TWO FRONTS ARE GOING BALD. THE TIRES ARE RUNWAY ENDURO 816 - P235/65R18. THEY HAVE 18, 660 MILES ON THEM WITH A 40,000 MILE WARRANTY. I DO NOT HAVE THE MONEY TO REPLACE 4 NEW TIRES. *TR

THANK GOD I WASN'T ON THE HIGHWAY TRAVELING AT A HIGHER RATE OF SPEED WITH OTHER VEHICLES WHEN THIS OCCURRED. THE FIRST TIME THIS HAPPENED WAS APPROXIMATELY 3 MONTHS AGO (THE SEAT MOVES BACK, I MOVE THE SEAT UP & IT GOES BACK AGAIN, I MOVE IT UP AGAIN...UNTIL IT FINALLY STOPS). FIRST OFF WHEN I BOUGHT THE VEHICLE THE REAR WIPER DOES NOT WORK. SECONDLY WHEN YOU PUT THE VEHICLE IN REVERSE IT JOLTS BEFORE GOING INTO REVERSE. FINALLY IT ONLY LET'S YOU PUT SO MUCH OF FUEL INTO THE GAS TANK AT A TIME BEFORE STOPPING THE FUEL FLOW INTO THE GAS TANK. *JS
VEHICLE WILL NOT SHIFT OUT OF PARK. SHIFT IS LOCKED INTO PARK AND WILL NOT SHIFT TO ANY GEAR AND DEPRESSING LEVER BUTTON AND BRAKE WILL NOT RELEASE OUT OF PARK. I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE FROM HUNTINGTON FORD IN ROCHESTER HILL AND BOUGHT THE EXTENDED WARRANTY AND WAS TOLD BY FORDS SERVICE DEPARTMENT THIS IS NOT COVERED AND WOULD COST $500.00 JUST FOR THE PART. AFTER RESEARCHING THIS PROBLEM I HAVE NOTICED OTHER COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS ISSUE THAT THE CAR WILL NOT MOVE OUT OF PARK. DRIVER'S SEAT MOVED BACK, DOME LIGHTS ILLUMINATED (VEHICLES "EASY EXIT" FEATURE) WHILE DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. LUCKILY I AM TALL ENOUGH TO REACH THE PEDALS AND WHEEL WHILE THE SEAT WAS MOVED BACK, BUT MY WIFE IS ONLY 5' 4" AND WOULD HAVE A HARD TIME REACHING. THIS IS A SERIOUS ISSUE THAT HAS BEEN HAPPENING TO MANY OTHER MOUNTAINEERS AS EVIDENCED BY THE MANY REPORTS ON THE INTERNET. THE CAUSE IS ANY SLIGHT BUMPING OF THE IGNITION SWITCH OR THE STEERING COLUMN/WHEEL. *TR

THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS THE AUTOMATIC DRIVER'S SEAT WOULD MOVE INDEPENDENTLY AND THE INTERIOR LIGHTS ILLUMINATED INDEPENDENTLY. THIS FAILURE CONTINUED TO OCCUR FOR A MONTH. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 112,000.

APPARENTLY THERE HAVE BEEN A LOT OF ISSUES WITH THE THERMOSTAT HOUSING LEAKING FLUID INTO THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM CAUSING IT TO SHORT OUT. I WAS DRIVING, WENT TO TAKE OFF IN RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC AND THEY VEHICLE WOULDN'T GO BECAUSE THE LEAK AND RUINED A PART OF THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM AND THE GEARS WOULD SHIFT. IT WAS ALMOST LIKE THE TRANSMISSION HAD GONE OUT. I HAVE READ SEVERAL ACCOUNTS WHERE THIS HAS HAPPENED TO TONS OF <09 MOUNTAINEERS AND EXPLORERS. TSB 09-22-15 CAME OUT ABOUT THIS ISSUE. I WAS DRIVING WITH MY INFANT DAUGHTER AND WE COULD HAVE BEEN INJURED VERY BADLY. SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE ABOUT THIS. IT HAS BEEN IDENTIFIED AND APPARENLTY AFFECTS PEOPLE'S CARS AND THEIR ABILITY TO ACCELERATE. VERY DANGEROUS. *TR

I HIT A BUMP AND THE SEAT MOVED BACK AND THE DOME LIGHT TURNED ON. I AM 6 FOOT 1 AND EVEN FOR ME THE PEDALS ARE A REACH. IT HAS ALSO HAPPENED TO WIFE AND SHE IS MUCH SHORTER THAN ME AND CANNOT REACH THE PEDALS AT ALL. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS.

DISCOUNT TIRE COMPANY INFORMED ME THAT THEY HAD A TECHNICAL BULLETIN - WHEEL ADVISORY THAT SAID; "DO SERVICE THE MERCURY MOUNTAINEER 18" OE WHEELS (2005 AND NEWER) THEY FOUND IN TESTING THAT THE FRONT BEAD HUMP HAS A RIDGE ON THE BALCONY LEDGE WHICH CAN CAUSE BEAD DAMAGE WHEN MOUNTING. TESTS WERE CONDUCTED WHERE SEVERAL TYPES OF TIRES WERE MOUNTED AND INFLATED ON THE OE WHEELS. THE ONLY TIRE THEY WERE ABLE TO SEAT AT (50PSI) WAS THE ORIGINAL EQUIPMENT MICHELIN. AFTER MOUNTING AND FOUND THAT IT HAD A DAMAGED BEAD. DURING THE TEST, THEY WERE NOT ABLE TO GET A TIRE TO SEAT WITHOUT DAMAGING THE BEAD. THE RECOMMENDATION: DO NOT SERVICE THESE WHEELS. CENTRAL FLORIDA LINCOLN DEALER (FORMERLY CENTRAL FLORIDA LINCOLN MERCURY) DID NOT HAVE ANY SERVICE BULLETIN ON THIS PROBLEM. THE ONLY WAY I COULD GET NEW TIRES FOR MY MERCURY MOUNTAINEER WAS TO BUY NEW 17" WHEELS AND HAVE NEW TIRES MOUNTED ON THEM. *TR
