WHILE TRAVELING AT 30 MPH, ANOTHER VEHICLE TRAVELING AT 25 MPH CROSSED THE PATH OF THE CONSUMER'S VEHICLE, WHICH FORCED THE CONSUMER TO HIT THE VEHICLE HEAD ON. NONE OF AIRBAGS DEPLOYED. *TT *CB *JB
MITSUBISHI GALANT GTZ ONLY GETTING 11 MI/GALLON. CAR WAS INSPECTED BY DEALER AND THEY COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG. ALL MILES DRIVEN ARE HIGHWAY MILES. *JB
THE ENGINE STALLED, WHICH CAUSED THE STEERING WHEEL TO LOCK UP.*JB THE ENGINE STALLED, WHICH CAUSED THE STEERING WHEEL TO LOCK UP. THERE IS NO WARNING OR INDICATION IN WHICH TO LET YOU KNOW THAT THE VEHICLE IS ABOUT TO STALL. *MR
MITSUBISHI GALANT 2001 ES HAS SEVERE BRAKE SYSTEM FAILURE. BRAKE PADS THAT WERE INSTALLED BY MANUFACTURE ALWAYS WORN OUT WITHIN 1-1/2 YEAR OR 15000.*AK MITSUBISHI GALANT 2001 ES HAS A PROBLEM WITH ENGINE GASGET. MY CAR ENGINE GASGET WAS LEAK TWICE IN 2003.
COMPLAINT: REPEATED PROBLEMS WITH FRONT BRAKES. ROTORS HAVE NEEDED TO BE RESURFACED SEVERAL TIMES AND NOW ARE UNABLE TO BE RESURFACED AGAIN AND NEED TO BE REPLACED. CONTINUOUS VIBRATION OF BRAKE PEDAL AND IN STEERING WHEEL WHILE BRAKING. AT TIMES, ENTIRE CAR FEELS LIKE IT IS SHAKING (PASSENGERS NOTICE THE VIBRATIONS THROUGH THEIR FEET ON THE FLOORBOARD). WAS INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT IN NOVEMBER OF 2002 WHERE I FELT THAT IF THE BRAKES WERE OPERATING AS THEY SHOULD BE, I WOULD HAVE BEEN ABLE TO STOP IN TIME. DEALER HAS NOT BEEN CONTACTED, ALTHOUGH JUDGING BY THE SHEER NUMBER OF COMPLAINTS, I'M SURE THEY ARE AWARE OF THE BRAKING ISSUES WITH THE GALANT. PLEASE PROVIDE ME WITH MORE INFORMATION. I WOULD LOVE TO GET OUT OF THIS VEHICLE WITHOUT OWING MY FIRST-BORN, AS MY FIRST-BORN IS DUE IN NOVEMBER AND I NO LONGER FEEL COMFORTABLE DRIVING THIS VEHICLE WITH THE THOUGHT OF AN INFANT AS A PASSENGER.*AK
BRAKES & ROTORS CONSTANTLY HAVE TO BE REPLACED. CAR WAS IN AN ACCIDENT 3 TIMES HIT FROM THE FRONT AND AIRBAGS NEVER DEPLOYED. ENGINE HAS STALLED ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS. PROBLEM WITH HORN FUSE. HIGH BEAMS STOPPED WORKING. WHEN ACCELERATING, SOUNDS LIKE ENGINE IS HAVING PROBLEMS GETTING GAS. DOESN'T ACCELERATED TO WELL AT ALL SOMETIMES. *AK
WHILE DRIVING CONSUMER ATTEMPTED TO BLOW HORN TO AVOID A COLLISION. THE HORN DID NOT WORK. VEHICLE WAS CHECKED BY DEALER WHO COULD NOT DETERMINE CAUSE OF FAILURE. TS
THERE WERE NO DUAL AIRBAGS INSIDE OF VEHICLE WHEN HE PURCHASED IT. DEALERSHIP IS AWARE OF PROBLEM.*AK
WHILE TRAVELING ABOUT 35MPH ON A SIDE STREET ANOTHER VEHICLE VEERED IN FRONT OF CONSUMER'S VEHICLE, AND SHE HIT VEHICLE HEAD-ON. UPON IMPACT, DRIVER'S SIDE SEAT BELT BROKE, AND AIRBAGS DIDN'T GO OFF. DEALERSHIP WAS AWARE OF PROBLEM.*AK
THERE WAS A VIBRATION AND BRAKE PULSATION. THE FRONT ROTORS WERE INSPECTED AND WERE FOUND WARPED. THE DEALER REPLACED THE TWO FRONT TIRES TO ELIMINATE THE VIBRATION IN WHICH THE PROBLEM REMAINED. THE TIRES WERE CHANGED 11 TIMES IN LESS THAN A YEAR. THE VIBRATION REMAINED AND WAS MOST NOTICEABLE WHEN THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED OR ON BENDS AND REMAINED THROUGHOUT THE RANGE OF DRIVING SPEEDS. THE DRIVE TRAIN WAS THOUGHT TO BE THE PROBLEM PER CONRAD'S(SERVICE DEALER). THERE ALSO WERE DANGEROUS FUMES WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS STARTED INSIDE THE PASSENGER COMPARTMENT, THE FUEL GAUGE HAD BECOME INOPERATIVE, AND THERE WAS PREMATURE RUSTING IN THE SEAMS OF THE ENGINE. *SCC
CAR WAS IN A REAR ENDE ACCIDENT. AIRBAGS DIDNT DEPLOY ON DRIVER OR PASSENGER SIDES.*AK
I PURCHASE A MITSUBISHI GALANT ON JULY 23, 2003. SINCE THEN I HAVE HAD 4 FRONT BRAKE CHANGE, ROTOR CUT 2 TIMES,REPLACE CALIPER, ABS / ANTI-LOCK SENSOR SENSOR REPLACE ONCE. WITH THAT BEEN THE MANGER AND ON GOING PROBLEMS I HAVE HAD AN ACCIDENT DUE TO BRAKE FAILURE. I ALSO NOTICE THAT THE STEERING WHEEL IS ALWAYS VIBRATING. *NLM
WHILE DRIVING AT 65MPH AND INVOLVED IN A FRONTAL COLLISION, AND NONE OF THE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED ON IMPACT. VEHICLE TOTALLED.*AK
VEHICLE WOULD STALL AT ANY GIVEN SPEED, VEHICLE BEEN TO DEALER ON TWO OCCASIONS AND PROBLEM REOCCURRED. FEEL FREE TO PROVIDE ANY FURTHER INFORMATION.*AK
I HAD ISSUES WITH MY DRIVER SIDE SEAT FOR YEARS AND CURRENTLY STILL AN ISSUE. I NEVER REALIZED THIS WAS A RECALL ISSUE. I HAD A NUMBER OF ISSUE/PROBLEMS WITH MY VEHICLE AND ALWAYS TOOK MY CAR TO THE MITSUBITSHI DEALER AND THEY TOO NEVER MENTIONED ANY RECALL REGARDING DRIVER SIDE SEAT. THE DRIVER'S SEAT IS NOT PROPERLY SECURE THE SEAT AND COULD INCREASE THE RISK OF DRIVER INJURY IN AN ACCIDENT.
ABS LIGHT AND TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT ILLUMINATES. STOPPING DISTANCE HAS INCREASED ALONG WITH BRAKE PEDAL VIBRATING WHEN BRAKES APPLIED. TWO FRONT ROTORS WERE WARPED AND GLAZED AND WILL BE REPLACED. BRAKES WILL BE SERVICED FOR FOURTH TIME WITHIN TWO MONTHS, AND THE PROBLEM HAS PROGRESSED. PLEASE PROVIDE MORE INFORMATION.*AK
ME AND MY WIFE WERE DRIVING ABOUT 45 MILES AN HOUR WHEN THE REAR END OF MY CAR STARTED SLIDING I TRY TO CORRECT THE FISH TALE BUT THE DRIVER REAR TIRE AND RIM FOLDED UNDER THE CAR WHICH CAUSE THE CAR TO FLIP SEVERAL TIMES NO AIRBAGS DEPLOYED THE CAR WAS SO CRUSHED I HAD TO DIG DOWN INTO THE DITCH TO FREE MYSELF FROM THE CAR UPON TAKING A CLOSER LOOK I REALIZED THE SWAY BAR HAD PULLED APART FROM BOTH SIDES OF THE REAR OF THE CAR ALSO THE MAIN SUPPORT OF THE REAR SUSPENSION HAD BROKEN IN TOO THEREFORE CAUSING THE CAR TO FLIP WE COULD HAVE EASILY DIED IN THIS CRASH AND 2 YEAR OLD AND OUR 6 MONTH OLD WOULD HAVE NO PARENTS. *NLM

ON JANUARY 30, 2002, I WAS IN A CAR ACCIDENT ON INTERSTATE 78 EXPRESS. I WAS GOING ABOUT 65-70 MILES PER HOUR IN THE RIGHT LANE. A CAR MERGING INTO TRAFFIC CROSSED OVER THE HAZARD LINES AND I SWERVED TO AVOID HITTING THE CAR. I WAS DRIVING A 2001 MITSUBISHI GALANT ES. MY CAR BEGIN TO SPIN AND I DROVE INTO THE GUARDRAIL, BUT MY AIRBAGS DID NOT INFLATE. MY ENTIRE FRONT END IS DAMAGED. MY INSURANCE COMPANY, SELECTIVE INSURANCE, CONSIDERS MY CAR TO BE A TOTAL LOSS.*AK
WHEN THE BRAKES ARE APPLIED AT ANY SPEED A VIOLENT VIBRATION CAN BE FELT IN STEERING WHEEL, DEALER HAS BEEN CONTACTED, BUT CANNOT LOCATE SOURCE OF PROBLEM. PLEASE PROVIDE FURTHER DETAILS. *AK
FRONT BRAKE ROTORS BECOME WARPED EVERY 5,000 TO 8,000...THIS IS THE THIRD SET OF ROTORS I HAVE GONE THROUGH SINCE 2002. THERE IS HEAVY VIBRATION IN THE STEERING WHEEL WHEN BRAKING. I CONSTANTLY HAVE TO KEEP HAVING THE ROTORS CUT. MITSUBISHI SAID THIS IS "NORMAL".

CONSUMER STATES HAS HAD PROBLEMS WITH THE HORN, IN ORDER TO STOP THE NOISE HE HAS TO OPEN THE HOOD AND UNPLUGGED, DEALER WILL FIX THE PROBLEM FOR $800 DOLLARS. TS CONSUMER IS AWARE THERE IS A TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN TO REPLACE THE HORN PAD ASSEMBLY. *TT
WHEN EVER VEHICLE IS IN REVERSE THERE IS A CLICKING NOISE. TOOK TO DEALER AND THE DEALER WANTS TO REPLACE THE FRONT DRIVESHAFT. PLEASE PROVIDE ANY FURTHER INFORMATION. TS
WHILE TRAVELING AT 50 MPH, THE VEHICLE WAS INVOLVED IN A FRONTAL COLLISION IN WHICH NONE OF THE AIRBAGS DEPLOYED. AIRBAG LIGHT HAS GONE ON AND OFF PRIOR TO ACCIDENT. PLEASE PROVIDE ANY FURTHER INFORMATION. TS

RIGHT REAR TIRE HIT HOLE OR BUMP IN PARKING. ACTIVATED ANTI-LOCK BRAKING FOR FIRST TIME SINCE BUYING CAR IN 2001. LOST STEERING CONTROL AT SAME TIME. COULDN'T TURN IT. STOPPED BEFORE ENTERING HIGHWAY. PUT CAR IN PARK; THEN DRIVE AND SLOWLY TOOK OFF. STEERING RETURNED TO NORMAL. DANGEROUS SITUATION IF I WAS IN TRAFFIC OR MEETING ANOTHER VEHICLE WHILE ATTEMPTING TO EXIT PARKING LOCK. FAINT ODOR OF FUEL. NO OBVIOUS LEAK ON GROUND. *TR

MANUFACTURER STATED THAT DRIVEN IN RAIN AND FLOODING CAUSED WATER TO ENTER TRANSMISSION. CONSUMER INDICATED THAT EHICLE WAS PARKED , AND WAS NOT SUBJECT TO WET CONDITIONS DURING RECENT FLOODING. FRONT END SUSPENSION IS VIBRATING AND PULSATING WHEN CONSUMER IS DRIVING VEHICLE. THIS CAN HAPPEN AT ANY TIME. CONTACTED DEALER, AND THE DEALER IS NOT WILLING TO DO ANYTHING.*AK
AIRBAG LIGHT IS ON ALL THE TIME, NOT TAKEN TO DEALER YET.*AK
DRIVER'S SEATBELT BECAME DETACHED FROM SIDE OF VEHICLE, WAS REPLACED UNDER WARRANTY. *AK
WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY VEHICLE JUST STOPPED, WAS CAUSED BY A DEFECT IN TRANSMISSION *AK
WHILE PULLING OUT OF A PARKING SPACE AND UPON SHIFTING GEAR INTO DRIVE ENGINE SUDDENLY ACCELERATED AND CAUSED VEHICLE TO HIT A WALL. DEALER / MANUFACTURER WERE NOT CONTACTED AT THIS TIME. FEEL FREE TO PROVIDE ANY FURTHER DETAILS ON THIS MATTER. *AK
