I WENT INTO MY DEALERSHIP FOR AN OIL CHANGE SATURDAY 9/7/19 AND AFTER I LEFT WITHIN A FEW HOURS A "TRANSMISSION SERVICE REQUIRED" ALERT CAME ON THE CAR BEGINS TO STUTTER AS I ACCELERATE AT A CERTAIN LEVEL AND THEN LATER THE ENGINE LIGHT. I COULD NOT GO BACK THE SAME DAY BECAUSE THEY HAD CLOSED.SUNDAY I HAD MY NEIGHBORHOOD MECHANIC RUN THE SCANNER ON THE CAR AND THE CODE ABOUT A TRANSMISSION PRESSURE SWITCH SENSOR WAS READING. MONDAY MORNING I CALL THEM AS SOON AS THE SERVICE CENTER OPENS AND THEY TELL ME TO BRING IT IN. WHEN I BRING IT IN, I WAIT ABOUT AN HOUR OR SO AND THEY COME TELL ME I NEED A NEW TRANSMISSION, WE HAVE ORDERED THE PART THAT WILL COME IN ON WEDNESDAY. I LEAVE TO GO BACK TO WORK WHICH WAS ABOUT 40 MILES AWAY FROM THE DEALERSHIP AND THE CAR COMPLETELY STALLS AS IM MAKING A U-TURN TO MY JOB'S PARKING LOT.
MY NAME IS [XXX], E-MAIL ADDRESS IS [XXX]. I WAS AT THE VICTORY MITSUBISHI DEALER FOR SERVICE ON 7/20/19. I COMPLAINT ABOUT HESITATION AND REDUCE POWER WHEN ACCELERATING. I TOLD THEM ABOUT THE NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V563000 AND MITSUBISHII RECALL NUMBER SR-16-006 ON THIS SAFETY ISSUE, THEY REFUSED TO ENTERTAIN THIS POTENTIAL RISK BECAUSE MMNA DID NOT LIST MY VIN NUMBER AS POSSIBLE VEHICLE COVERED BY THIS RECALL. THEY INSTEAD OFFERED TO CHARGE ME THE THROTTLE BODY CLEANING AND CHANGE THE TRANSMISSION FLUID. I PAID FOR THE TRANSMISSION FUEL CHANGE AT APPROXIMATELY 26.600 MILES IN ADVANCE OF THE MAINTENANCE SCHEDULE. THE CAR IS STILL HESITATING AT VARIOUS TEMPERATURES. I NEED THIS FIXED!! AND I WOULD LIKE AN APOLOGY FROM THE FACTORY TRAINED SERVICE TECHNICIAN THAT DID NOT LISTEN TO MY COMPLAINT! TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 MITSUBISHI OUTLANDER. WHILE THE CONTACT'S HUSBAND WAS DRIVING 45 MPH, HE HEARD AN ABNORMAL NOISE AND THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO DECELERATE. WHEN THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO ACCELERATE. THE CONTACT MANAGED TO PULL THE VEHICLE OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD BEFORE THE ENGINE SHUT OFF. THE CONTACT WAITED A COUPLE OF MINUTES BEFORE RESTARTING THE VEHICLE AND THEN DROVE HOME. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT ASSOCIATED THE FAILURE WITH NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V563000 (POWER TRAIN). THE CONTACT CALLED MARK MITSUBISHI PHOENIX (LOCATED AT 1901 E BELL RD, PHOENIX, AZ 85022, (602) 888-2840) AND AN APPOINTMENT WAS SCHEDULED FOR JULY 20, 2019. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 53,000.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED AS OF YET. A DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE MANUFACTURER HAD NOT BEEN INFORMED OF FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
WHEN DRIVING YOU FEEL THAT SUDDENLY THE VEHICLE STARTS JERKING, AND WHEN GOING ON AN UPHILL THE VEHICLE LOOSES POWER, SLOWS DOWN AND MAY EVEN STOP COMPLETELY. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS SPECIALLY IF YOU DRIVING IN THE MIDDLE OF THE FREEWAY; THE CARS BEHIND YOU CAN HIT YOU AT FULL SPEED WHICH IN WORST CASE IT COULD BE FATAL. IT STARTED HAPPENING WHEN MY CAR HAD ABOUT 110K MILES AND WHEN I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER THEY TOLD ME IT WAS NOT COVERED UNDER THE WARRANTY DUE TO THE MILEAGE AND THEY GAVE ME AN ESTIMATE OF ABOUT $8,000 TO REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION. *TR
VEHICLE STALLED ON CITY ROAD, WAS ABLE TO RESTART. AND PULL INTO PARKING LOT WHEN IT STALLED AGAIN, ALL WARNING LIGHTS WERE ILLUMINATED IN VEHICLE. WAS NOT ABLE TO RESTART THIS TIME, VEHICLE WAS COMPLETELY DEAD.COULD NOT MOVE SHIFTER TO ANY POSITION, STUCK IN PARK VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO MITSUBISHI DEALERSHIP. VEHICLE WAS AT DEALERSHIP FOR 7 DAYS, DEALERSHIP SAID IT WAS A BAD RELAY THAT PREVENTED COMMUNICATION WITH COMPUTER.
THE DOORS DO NOT LOCK AUTOMATICALLY AFTER REACHING A CERTAIN SPEED, THE DRIVER MUST ALWAYS LOCK THE DOORS MANUALLY, THERE IS NO SETTING TO HAVE THEM LOCK AFTER DRIVING, IF YOU DO LOCK THEM MANUALLY THEY WILL UNLOCK, SOMETIMES WHILE IN MOTION.
EMERGENCY BRAKE DOES NOT ENGAGE DUE TO ACTUATOR LEVER ON CALIPER BEING STUCK. THERE IS AN OPEN RECALL FOR THIS ISSUE WITH VEHICLES MATCHING MY MAKE, MODEL AND YEAR BUT MY VEHICLE DOES NOT SEEM TO BE INCLUDED IN SAID RECALL. THIS ISSUE WAS NOTICED WHEN THE EMERGENCY BRAKE WAS LIFTED BUT THE VEHICLE CONTINUED TO BE ABLE TO ROLL WHILE IN MY DRIVEWAY.
WHEN IT RAINS OR AFTER CAR WASH GAS FILL COMPARTMENT IS FULL OF WATER. THERE IS NO DRAIN IN THERE AND THE WATER SLOSHES AROUND UNTIL IT FINALLY EVAPORATES. WORRIED ABOUT WATER ENTERING FULL TANK. WHEN DRIVING THE DOORS DON'T LOCK AUTOMATICALLY, I HAD SOMEONE(STRANGE R) WALK UP TO MY CAR AND OPEN THE DOOR WHILE AT STOP LIGHT. I JUST KNEW THE DOORS LOCK AUTOMATICALLY AS MY PAST SATURN, CHEVY, FORD CAR PURCHASES. I ASK MITSUBISHI DEALERSHIP AND THEY SPECIFIED THAT MY YEAR MODEL WASN'T BUILT WITH AUTO LOCKS. ALSO, THE DOOR PANELS DOOLIGHT UP AT NIGHT WHEN DRIVING, MAYBE IT'S AN ELECTRIC MATTER TOO.

MY ENGINE HAS GOTTEN LOUDER AND VIBRATES AT LIGHTS. WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER THEY CLAIM NO CODES BUT IT IS LOUDER AND TICKING AND HAS LOST MORE POWER TO THE ENGINE THAN BEFORE. THE CAR HESITATES AND SMELLS HOT LIKE A PART IS HOT

HESITATIONS DURING ACCELERATION, ENGINE STALLS, ELECTRICAL DOESNT WORK PROBERLY LIKE USB
WHEN DRIVING THE HEATER WILL SHUT OFF AS THE ENGINE LOOSES POWER AND THEN START BACK UP AND THE POWER WILL PICK BACK UP. IT IS NOT DUE TO HAVING THE HEAT FEATURE ON AUTO I DO NOT USE THAT FEATURE.
LOW BEAM HEADLIGHT BULBS HAVE BURNED OUT FOR THE 2ND TIME SINCE I HAVE BOUGHT THIS CAR IN 1 YEARS TIME. LAST TIME WAS SEPTEMBER 2018 AND NOW AGAIN DECEMBER 2018. THERE IS NO WATER OR CONDENSATION INSIDE OF THE ASSEMBLY. JUST REPLACING BOTH BULBS AND THEY WILL WORK AGAIN, BUT FOR HOW LONG?
ANYTIME WHEN I'M DRIVING MY VEHICLE I HAVE TO CONTINUOUSLY RELEASE MY FOOT OFF THE GAS PEDAL FOR IT TO ATTEMPT TO SHIFT INTO THE NEXT GEAR OTHERWISE IT CONTINUES TO REV UP THE RPMS. ALSO I PARKED MY CAR TURNED IT OFF AND AS I WAS GETTING OUT OF THE VEHICLE IT THE VEHICLE MADE A SOUND AS IT WAS TRYING TO START BUT WAS STRUGGLING. THEN IT STOPPED. WHILE DRIVING, WHEN YOU TAKE YOUR FOOT OFF YOUR ACCELERATOR, THE TRANSMISSION MAKES A ROARING NOISE TRYING TO SLOW DOWN THE CAR. TOOK IT INTO THE DEALERSHIP SERVICE FOR THEM TO LOOK AT IT. THEY SAID THAT ITS THE TRANSMISSION AND THEY HAVE SEEN ALOT OF OUTLANDERS WITH MY YEAR COMING IN HAVING TO GET THE ENTIRE TRANSMISSION REPLACED. THEY ARE SURPRISED THAT THERE HASN'T BEEN A RECALL ON THE ISSUE SINCE ITS HAPPENED SO FREQUENT WITH THE 2016 OUTLANDERS
DRIVE 2016 MITSUBISHI OUTLANDER SPORT. OCT 2018 STARTED EXPERIENCING PROBLEMS WITH THE FUEL GAUGE SENDER BEHAVING ERRATICALLY. FILL WITH GAS AND MAY SHOW FULL TANK OR 3/4 TANK, WITHIN LESS THAN MILE THE MILES UNTLL NEXT FILL WILL JUMP UP. WHILE DRIVING IT WILL JUMP ALL OVER THE PLACE - IN LESS THAN BLOCK IT WENT FROM 390 TO 440. HAS BEEN AS HIGH AS 460. THE LAST TIME I TOOK IT IN I WENT OVER 300 MILES WITH THE FUEL GAUGE SHOWING 3/4 FULL. HAS A 16 GALLON TANK SO ON 4 GALLONS I WOULD HAVE AVERAGED ABOUT 75 MILES TO THE GALLON. HAVE INCLUDED CHART OF ONE FILL UP SHOWING THE MILEAGE AND WHAT THE FUEL GAUGE SHOWS FOR MILES TO NEXT FILL. HAVE ALSO INCLUDED SOME PICTURES TO SHOW DIFFERENCES. SOME INSTANCES I PARK THE CAR AND IT WILL SHOW THE MILES TO FILL AND WHEN I START IT AGAIN THAT WILL HAVE RISEN BY 10'S OR DROPPED BY 10'S. DRIVE 7 MILES ONE WAY TO WORK AND IT HAS GIVEN AS MANY ARE 6 DIFFERENT READINGS DURING THE DRIVE. HAS BEEN ONE YEAR AND STILL NO FIX AND AM AFRAID OF WHAT WILL HAPPEN NEXT. THIS HAPPENS AT ALL DIFFERENT TIMES - DRIVING ON HIGHWAY, CITY STREETS, TURNING, STRAIGHT. NO CONSISTENCY, JUST HAPPENS. HAVE TAKEN IT TO THE DEALER SEVERAL TIMES - THEY KEPT IT TWICE FOR A WEEK EACH TIME - AND THEY SAY THERE IS NOTHING WRONG. ALSO CALLED MITSUBISHI AND THEY SAY DEALER CONTACTED THEM AND THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE VEHICLE. AT WITS END ON WHAT TO DO WITH IT. ANY HELP??? VEHICLE HAD JUST OVER 20,000 MILES WHEN BEGAN - CURRENTLY HAVE JUST OVER 24,000. THANK YOU

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO CHERRY HILL MITSUBISHI (1805 MARLTON PIKE W, CHERRY HILL, NJ 08002, 856-471-1057) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TAILGATE STRUTS WERE INOPERABLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO NHTSA. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 77,035.
The contact owns a 2016 Mitsubishi Outlander. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, the brakes made a loud sound whenever the brake pedal was depressed. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed with the rear rotors needing to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The contact stated that two years later, the failure recurred. The vehicle was then taken to a local dealer where it was diagnosed with the rotors and the brakes needing to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure and referred the contact to a local dealer. The failure mileage was approximately 26,907.

I PURCHASED A 2016 MITSUBISHI OUTLANDER IN 9/2015 FROM LARRY J MITSUBISHI. IN AUGUST OF 2016, WE RECEIVED A LETTER ABOUT A RECALL(SR−16−006 ON THE TRANSMISSION. THE ISSUE IS A MAJOR SAFETY HAZARD THAT CAN CAUSE A CRASH IN THE MIDDLE OF HIGHWAY USE, INTERSECTION OR HEAVY FLOWING TRAFFIC. UPON THE RECALL, WE TOOK VEHICLE TO LARRY J IN 9/2016 TO HAVE A THE PROPOSED FIX TO RE FLASH THE SOFTWARE. VEHICLE DROVE GREAT UNTIL 08/2017, WITH HESITATION AND SLUGGISH ACCELERATION. WE TOOK VEHICLE TO SAME DEALERSHIP TO HAVE IT INSPECTED ON 08/10/2017. IN SPEAKING WITH SERVICE ADVISOR, THE TRANSMISSION WAS HAVING THE SAME ISSUE AND PERFORMED FIX, RE FLASH, AS NOTED IN THE RECALL BULLETIN. WE THEN DROVE VEHICLE ON 08/12/2017 TO MILLEDGEVILLE, GA(4 HOURS FROM HOME) AND BEGAN NOTICING HESITATION AND ACCELERATION ISSUES WHEN ARRIVING ABOUT AN HOUR FROM OUR DESTINATION. UPON LEAVING THAT EVENING TO HEAD BACK TO CHARLOTTE(4 HOURS FROM HOME) THE VEHICLE TOOK A LONG TIME TO PICK UP SPEED AT LIGHTS AND INTERSECTIONS. ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND I WAS ABLE TO PULL INTO AUTO ZONE AND CAPTURE ERROR CODES. WE CHECKED INTO HOTEL AND PLANNED TO LEAVE IN THE MORNING. THE NEXT MORNING, DROVE NOT IN 1/8 OF A MILE AND VEHICLE STALLED OUT AT AN INTERSECTION AND HAD TO BE PUSHED OFF THE ROAD. THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION WHEN YOU ARE DRIVING 70MPH AND HAVE TO SLOW DOWN AND CANNOT PICK BACK UP AND SEE 16-WHEELER AND LARGE SUV'S COMING BEHIND YOU OR GOING 45 MPH AND THE VEHICLE JUST STALLS IN THE MIDDLE OF THE INTERSECTION. TO MAKE MATTERS WORSE, MITSUBISHI CORPORATION IS OF ANY HELP WHEN SEEING ANY REIMBURSEMENT FROM OUT OF POCKET EXPENSES. I HAVE DOCUMENTS ON A WORD DOCUMENT WITH PHOTOS, REPAIR ORDERS, RECEIPTS ETC.
WHEN I GO TO PULL OUT IT WILL NOT ACCELERATE ALMOST COMING TO A DEAD STOP AND IT WILL NOT CHANGE GEARS IT WILL ALMOST RED LINE.. YOU HAVE TO LET OFF THE GAS TO GET IT TO CHANGE GEARS AND WHILE DRIVING ON AN INTERSTATE MY CAR JUST STOPPED ALSO WHEN YOU HIT YOUR BREAKS OR HIT A BUMP IN THE ROAD IT PULLS TO ONE SIDE. ALSO WHEN I FIRST PURCHASED MY CAR THE IGNITION WAS BROKEN ON THE INSIDE WHICH CAUSED MY KEY TO GET STUCK. AND TO THIS DAY I AM STILL HAVING PROBLEMS WITH MY CAR PLUS THE BEVELS ON MY DASH BOARD WAS BROKEN

THERE WERE NO INJURIES AND A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO SKYLAND AUTO GROUP (255 SMOKEY PARK HIGHWAY, ASHEVILLE, NC 28806 (828) 667-5213), BUT THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE REPLICATED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND DID NOT OFFER ANY ASSISTANCE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 27,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.
WITH JUST 2,000 MILES ON THE SUV, THE DRIVER'S SIDE LOW BEAM HEADLIGHT BURNED OUT. REPLACED IT. AT 20,000 MILES, BOTH LOW BEAMS BURNED OUT AT THE SAME TIME. REPLACED THEM. AT 30,000, BOTH LOW BEAMS BURNED OUT AGAIN, AT THE SAME TIME. REPLACED AND CONTACTED DEALER WITH, SO FAR, NO RESPONSE. I'VE OWNED ALMOST 10 VEHICLES OVER THE YEARS - INCLUDING HIDS AND HALOGENS - AND HAVE NEVER HAD HEADLIGHTS BURN OUT THIS QUICKLY OR AT EXACTLY THE SAME TIME.

THE SHIFTER ASSEMBLY CAME APART AFTER I SHIFTED FROM PARK TO DRIVE. PLASTIC PIECES AND INDICATOR COVERS POPPED OUT THROUGH THE CENTER CONSOLE AND WERE VISIBLE. WHILE I WAS DRIVING THE BUNCHED UP PLASTIC PIECES WOULD CAUSE MY VEHICLE TO GO INTO NEUTRAL, AND I WOULD HAVE TO HOLD MY SHIFTER IN DRIVE TO PREVENT IT FROM SLIPPING BACK INTO NEUTRAL . AT APPROXIMATELY 18,500 MILES I NOTICED THAT THERE WAS VIBRATION IN BOTH THE STEERING WHEEL AND BRAKE PEDAL WHEN BRAKING. BASED ON THE MILEAGE I FIGURED IT MUST BE SOMETHING WRONG OUTSIDE OF THE BRAKES - TOOK IT IN FOR SERVICE AT JEFF D'AMBROSIO AND WAS TOLD THAT I NEEDED FRONT ROTORS, BACK ROTORS AND BACK BRAKE PADS - AND THEY WOULD NOT BE COVERED UNDER THE WARRANTY. I TOOK IT TO SOMEONE ELSE TO SERVICE THE VEHICLE (KEPT THE PARTS) AND REPLACED THE FRONT BRAKES AND ROTORS AND WILL HAVE THE BACK DONE THIS WEEKEND - PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE. THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE BRAKES SHOWED UNEVEN WEAR WITH THE INNER BRAKE PAD WEARING AT AN ANGLE...THIS IS NOT NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR.
