I WAS TOTALLY SHOCKED TO FIND HOLES RUSTED THROUGH THE FLOORS OF OUR CAR. AS I RESEARCHED I HAVE FOUND THIS A HUGE PROBLEM, EVEN COVERED BY MAJOR TV NETWORKS. ...I REACHED OUT TO NISSAN AND THEY SAID THEY WOULDN'T DO ANYTHING.
TAKATA WHEN THE AIRBAG DEPLOY WHICH ALMOST CAUSED MY LIFE. I HAVE 20 SOME FRACTURED RIBS AND SPINE FRACTURES AS WELL. ALSO MY FOOTPEDAL SPEED UP WITHOUT MY KNOWLEDGE AND WAS STUCK. MY DTE SAID 180 MILES, WITH ALMOST A HALF TANK OF GAS, CAR STOPPED ON ME ON FREEWAY, NO WARNING LIGHT OF LOW FUEL. CAR STOPPED AND AN ACCIDENT OCCURRED BECAUSE OF THIS PROBLEM. THE DTE OR GAS GAUGE DOES NOT READ ACCURATELY. PLEASE I NEED HELP
I WAS DRIVING ON A HIGHWAY AT ABOUT 45 MPH, WHEN MY CAR'S ENGINE SHUT DOWN. I PANICKED AND HAD TO COAST OVER A LANE TO GET TO THE HIGHWAY SHOULDER. MY CAR WOULD NOT RESTART AND I HAD TO CALL FOR TOWING. THE MECHANIC SAID IT WAS A BAD CAM SHAFT SENSOR. I HAVE REPLACED THIS SENSOR AT LEAST 4 TIMES ON THIS VEHICLE. IT CLEARLY IS A DEFECT BY THE MAKER. NISSAN SAID IT WAS NOT COVERED BY THEIR RECALL, YET SO MANY NISSANS ARE STILL HAVING HE SAME ISSUE.

THE CONTACT CALLED LANDERS NISSAN (LOCATED AT 371 GOODMAN RD E, SOUTHAVEN, MS 38671, (662) 349-5557) AND WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO STATED THAT THE VALVE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT ASSOCIATED THE FAILURE WITH NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 06V223000 (ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 110,000.
AFTER THE ENGINE HAS STARTED IT MAY SHUT DOWN RANDOMLY WHILE DRIVING. IF THE CAR IS SHUT DOWN FOR ANY REASON IT WILL NOT START BACK UP FOR SEVERAL HOURS. THIS IS EXACTLY THE SAME AS A PREVIOUS RECALL ON THE CAR FROM NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 07V527000. IT HAS SHUT DOWN TWICE NOW WHILE DRIVING AT LESS THEN 40 MILES AN HOUR.
EXCESS ENGINE OIL CONSUMPTION RECALL #06V223000 - I TOOK MY VEHICLE TO AN AUTOMOTIVE REPAIR SHOP BECAUSE MY VEHICLE RAN OUT OF OIL ON 3 SEPARATE OCCASIONS AND THE LOW OIL LIGHT DID NOT COME ON TO LET ME KNOW THAT THERE WAS AN ISSUE. DURING EACH OCCASION, I PULLED OVER BECAUSE I HEARD A LOUD "KNOCKING' SOUND COMING FROM THE ENGINE AS I WAS DRIVING AND BECAME WORRIED. EACH TIME THE ISSUE OCCURRED BEFORE THE 3 MONTH/3,000 MILE SCHEDULED OIL CHANGE. THE MECHANIC LOCATED AN EXTERNAL OIL LEAK ON THE 1ST OCCASION AND REPAIRED THE EXTERNAL LEAK. MY CAR WAS INSPECTED TO SEE IF THERE WERE ANY OTHER EXTERNAL OIL LEAKS WHEN THE PROBLEM OF RUNNING OUT OF OIL CONTINUED TO OCCUR; HOWEVER, NO ADDITIONAL EXTERNAL LEAKS WERE LOCATED. MY MECHANIC RECOMMENDED THAT I CONTACT NISSAN REGARDING THE EXCESSIVE OIL CONSUMPTION. I WAS ADVISED BY A NISSAN REPRESENTATIVE THAT THEY HAVE ALREADY FIXED THE EXCESSIVE OIL CONSUMPTION ISSUE FOR MY VIN AND THAT THEY WOULD NOT INSPECT OR REPAIR THAT ISSUE AGAIN WITHOUT ME PAYING A LOCAL NISSAN DEALER.
VEHICLE WAS BEING DROVE DOWN MAJOR HIGHWAY WHEN ALL OF THE SUDDEN IT LOSES ALL POWER, GET OFF HIGHWAY ON EDGE PUT IT IN PARK, TURN KEY COMPLETELY OFF AND TRY TO RESTART CAR FAILS TO START CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON AND STAYS. GET CODE PULLED SHOWS CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR A. GET THE CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR REPLACED AND CODE CLEARED. HEAD HOME WITH CAR, DOES SAME EXACT THING THAT HAPPENED WHILE ON THE HIGHWAY IN TOWN. HAVE HAD EVERYTHING ELSE LOOKED AT AND NO ONE KNOWS WHAT TO DO TO FIX THE PROBLEM. CAR ACTS AS IF IT'S HARD TO START EVER SINCE THIS HAPPENED. DEFINITELY WON'T BE TAKING IT OUT OF TOWN UNTIL SOMETHING IS DONE. CAR WILL SIT AND CRANK AND CRANK THEN EVENTUALLY DECIDES TO START. STARTER ISN'T ISSUE IT WAS PREVIOUSLY REPLACED NOT EVEN 2 MONTHS AGO DUE TO IT GOING OUT.
NEWLY PURCHASED USED CAR....A SLIGHT HESITATION AND THEN SUDDEN SURGE TYPE FEEL UNDER LIGHT ACCELERATION AT LOW SPEEDS.
DAMAGA MOTOR MOUNTS IT KEEP GETING DAMAGE
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 NISSAN ALTIMA. APPROXIMATELY ONE WEEK AGO, THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG INDICATOR WAS ILLUMINATED, WHICH WAS A SAFETY CONCERN. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER (LITHIA NISSAN OF FRESNO, 5580 N BLACKSTONE AVE, FRESNO, CA 93710) WHERE IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE CONTACT WOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE DEALER REFERRED THE CONTACT TO THE MANUFACTURER. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS OVER A DECADE OLD; THEREFORE, THEY WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO ASSIST WITH THE REPAIR. THERE WERE NO RECALLS ASSOCIATED WITH THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 131,500.
THE CAR SOMETIMES SMOKE AFTER YOU CRANK IT UP WE HAD THE VALUE COVER AND GASKETS REPLACED AND IT STILL DOING IT. THESES CARS AFTER THEY GET A CERTAIN AMOUNT OF MILES THEY DO THIS. THE MECHANIC TOLD US IT IS THE RINGS IN THE ENGINE THAT HAS WENT BAD.
CAR WAS SPUTTERING AT INTERSECTIONS AND HARD TO START. TOOK TO MECHANIC TWICE & HE COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG; SAID HE THOUGHT IT MIGHT BE A RECALL PROBLEM; SAY WHERE THERE WAS A PROBLEM WITH THE WIRING HARNESS ON FULL PUMP SHORTING OUT; PART IS ON NATIONAL RECALL; SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT REMAINED ON

WHILE DRIVING 60 MPH, THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE CRASHED INTO THE REAR OF A SEMI-TRUCK DURING INCLEMENT WEATHER AFTER DEPRESSING THE BRAKE PEDAL WHICH FAILED TO RESPOND. THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A YARD AND DESTROYED FROM THE IMPACT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INSPECTED AND DIAGNOSED BY A REPAIR FACILITY OR DEALER. THE DRIVER SUSTAINED NECK PAINS AND WHIPLASH, WHICH REQUIRED MEDICAL TREATMENT. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE CRASH. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE. *TT *TR
WENT OUT TO MY CAR ( PARKED) AND NOTICED SOMETHING HANGING FROM UNDERNEATH DRIVERS SIDE. A LARGE MASS OF RUSTED FLOOR BOARD WAS HANGING TO THE GROUND. I TOUCHED IT AND IT FELL OFF, ABOUT A FOOT LONG AND JUST AS WIDE.LAID ON GROUND TO SEE UNDER CAR AND THE DRIVERS SIDE FLOOR BOARD IS RUSTED OUT.HAS BEEN FOR REGULAR OIL CHANGES AND THE MECHANIC HAS NOT MENTIONED THIS.I DISCUSSED WITH MECHANIC AND HE NOTIFIED ME THAT HE HAS SEEN THIS BEFORE AND I SHOULDN'T ALLOW MY TEEN DAUGHTER TO DRIVE HER CAR BECAUSE IT IS UNSAFE.I THEN CHECKED ON THE INTERNET TO FIND OUT THAT THIS WAS HAPPENING ALL NISSAN ALTIMA'S FROM 2002-2006. YET, NISSAN HAS NOT TAKEN RESPONSIBILITY FOR THIS IN A RECALL . IS NISSAN WAITING FOR MY DAUGHTERS FOOT TO GO THROUGH THE FLOOR AND CRASH AND DIE BEFORE THEY DO THE RIGHT THING. THIS IS CLEARLY A SAFETY ISSUE. SOMEONE NEEDS TO STEP IN OR STEP UP TO RESOLVE THIS BEFORE SOMEONE DIES. SO THE CAR REMAINS PARKED.QUESTION 'WOULD THEY LET THERE TEEN DRIVE THIS CAR "? REMEMBER THE DRIVERS SEAT IS ALSO ATTACHED TO THIS AREA WILL IT STAND UP TO A CRASH OR GIVE WAY THROWING DRIVER THROUGH FRONT WINDOW ? TAKING PICTURES OF DAMAGE TO DOCUMENT. THANKS

UPON FURTHER INSPECTION, A HOLE WAS LOCATED ON THE FRONT DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDE FLOORBOARDS. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND ADVISED THE CONTACT TO TAKE THE VEHICLE TO A NISSAN DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 113,000.
ALL INCIDENTS IN PARKING LOTS DURING MANUVERING INTO OR OUT OF PARKING SPACES. THROTTLE GOES WIDEOPEN, CAR LURCHES FORWARD OR BACKWARD, COMPLETELY OUT OF DRIVER CONTROL FOR APPROX. 10 TO 15 SECONDS.
I WAS INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT ON DECEMBER 2,2017 AND THE AIR BAGS NEVER INFLATE. IT WAS A BIG COLLISION AND THEY DIDN'T FUNCTION LIKE THEY WERE SUPPOSED TO. I WAS ON A CITY STREET WHEN THE ACCIDENT OCCURRED MAKING A LEFT TURN.
TOOK MY CAR FOR INSPECTION WAS INFORMED THE FLOORBOARDS ARE ROTTED AND CANNOT PASS INSPECTION UNTIL THEY ARE REPLACED.
MY 2006 NISSAN ALTIMA 2.5L BASE CONSUMES APPROX. 1 QUART OF OIL EVERY 200 MILES, THERE ARE NO LEAKS SO I AM ASSUMING IT IS BURNING OIL I HAVE CHECKED VARIOUS SITES INCLUDING NISSAN,NHTSA AND IT SHOWS NO OPEN RECALLS, MY CAR ONLY HAS 139000 MILES, I HAVE OWNED VARIOUS MAKES OF AUTO OVER MY 47 YRS OF DRIVING AND NEVER RAN INTO A PROBLEM LIKE THIS!
ENGINE INTERMITTENTLY SHUTS OFF WHEN CAR IS IDLING (STATIONARY) AT RED LIGHTS (CITY STREET). ENGINE HAS DONE THIS EVERY 6-7 DAYS FOR THE LAST THREE WEEKS. THIS HAS HAPPENED AFTER A 1-2 MILE DRIVE AS WELL AS A 35-40 MILE DRIVE. THERE WERE NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHTS.
I HAPPENED TO LOOK UNDER VEHICLE AND NOTICED THAT MY DRIVERS SIDE FLOOR BOARD IS COMPLETELY RUSTED OUT. THIS IS A DESIGN FLAW AND I HAVE SERIOUS SAFETY CONCERNS WITH THIS. A WHOLE NEW FLOOR PAN WILL BE NEEDED TO HOPEFULLY FIX THIS. HAD I NOT SEEN THIS, I COULD HAVE BEEN SERIOUSLY INJURED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS RELATED TO NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 06V223000 (ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING); HOWEVER, THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 154,000.

CAR HAS TROUBLE STARTING. STALLS AT LOW SPEEDS AND AT RED LIGHTS. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS ON, WITH CODES FOR THE CRANKSHAFT POS SENSOR AND THE SPEED SENSOR. REPLACING THE CRANKSHAFT SENSOR DOESN'T DO ANYTHING - PROBLEM PERSISTS, CODE STAYS ON.
DRIVER'S SIDE FLOOR RUSTING OUT~YOU CAN SEE UNDERNEATH THE CAR THRU THE GAS LATCH AREA. I JUST NOTICED IT WHEN I GOT IN AND THE FLOOR FELT FLEXIBLE, WHEN I LOOKED, THE FLOOR'S GONE NEAR THE LEFT REAR SIDE OF THE DRIVER'S AREA.
WAS TOLD NEED TO REPLACE CRANK AND CAM SENSOR. FOUND ARTICLE ON WEBSITE OF A RECALL. WHY IS IT ONLY CERTAIN CARS. WHY IS MY CAR NOT ELIGIBLE? NISSAN DEALER SAID WOULD COST $825.00 PLUS TAX THAT'S INSANE. PLEASE HELP ME!

2006 NISSAN ALTIMA, THE UNDER BODY RUSTING AND HOLE IN UNDERBODY OF PASSENGER AND DRIVER SIDE. JUST NOTICED SINCE I SAW SOMETHING HANGING FROM MY CAR.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2006 NISSAN ALTIMA. THE OWNER STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS OPERATED BY HER DAUGHTER'S BOYFRIEND WITH THE DAUGHTER IN THE VEHICLE AS A PASSENGER. WHILE TRAVELING 35 MPH, THE DRIVER MADE A TURN AND COLLIDED INTO A GUARDRAIL. THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE DRIVER SUSTAINED SUBSTANTIAL BRUISING TO THE LEFT KNEE AND REQUIRED X-RAYS. THE PASSENGER SUSTAINED A CUT TO THE FRONT OF THE FOREHEAD FROM HITTING AND SHATTERING THE WINDSHIELD, WHICH REQUIRED X-RAYS AND AN MRI. THE PASSENGER ALSO SUSTAINED INTERNAL BRUISING AND WHIPLASH TO THE NECK AND SPINE. THE POLICE HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO A POLICE IMPOUND TOWING LOT. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT IT WAS NOT THEIR CONCERN AND NOTHING COULD BE DONE TO ASSIST. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED OR MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 154,000.
AFTER A ROUTINE SERVICE CALL FOR OIL CHANGE, ROTATE AND CHECK TIRES, ETC., I WAS ADVISED BY THE MECHANIC BOTH FLOOR BOARDS WERE IN NEED OF REPAIR. HIS ADVISE WAS TO DRIVE CAREFULLY AND NOT GO OVER BIG BUMPS. I TOOK IT TO A REPAIR SHOP AND IMMEDIATELY THE OWNER KNEW EXACTLY WHAT THE PROBLEM WAS. HE THE OWNER HAD ALREADY FIXED AT LEAST 4 ALTIMAS SAME YEAR. HE SAID THE STEEL WAS THIN AND RUSTED QUICK. MY CAR WAS ALMOST ALL THE WAY THROUGH THE FLOORS. STEEL IS, IN FACT MADE MUCH BETTER AND VERY LITTLE RUST SHOWS ON CARS. MINE CAR HAS NO RUST (EXCEPT FLOOR BOARDS IN FRONT) IT HAS BEEN FIXED $500.

WAS LEAVING STORE AND WHEN PULLED OUT ONTO ROAD, I WAS INVOLVED IN A CRASH! LEFT THE SCENE AND THEN WAS TAKEN BY PRIVATE VEHICLE TO LOCAL EMERGENCY ROOM AND FROM THERE, AIRLIFTED WITH BRAIN INJURY! WAS ALMOST ACROSS THE ROAD AND VEHICLE STALLED AND WOULDN'T ACCELERATE AND STALLED AND CAUSED A HORRIBLE ACCIDENT. THE VEHICLE THAT HIT ME GOT ME IN PASSENGER REAR AS HE WAS TRAVELING UP HIGHWAY AND THREW ME AND WENT AIR BORNE AND KNOCKED A TELEPHONE POLE IN HALF AND DONE DAMAGE TO FRONT AS WELL. AIR BAGS DIDN'T DEFLATE AT ALL. I AM MAKING ATTEMPT TO MAKE NISSAN AWARE AND OPPORTUNITY TO MAKE RIGHT. I HAVE RESEARCHED WHAT COULD CAUSE THIS AND RECALLS ARE EFFECTIVE WHILE I'M GOING TO STATE UNKNOWN TO CAUSE, AS THERE ARE SEVERAL REASONS ON FORUM AS TO WHAT COULD CAUSE THIS. A LOCAL AUTO SHOP HAS REPLACED THE CRANK POSITION SENSOR TWICE BUT THE SAME OBDII CODE APPEARED AGAIN. THE CAR WILL CRANK BUT NOT START FOR SEVERAL MINUTES. THIS PROBLEM (WHICH IS ASSOCIATED WITH A RECALL BUT NOT FOR OUR VIN) IS ALSO ASSOCIATED WITH THE ENGINE SHUTTING DOWN DURING VEHICLE OPERATION, POSSIBLY CAUSING CRASHES. THE NISSAN DEALER HAS CLAIMED THAT THERE IS NO REPAIR NOR RECALL THEY CAN DO. I SUSPECT THAT NISSAN IS FAILING TO REPORT THE EXTENT OF THE PROBLEM WHICH HAS BEEN WIDELY REPORTED IN OWNER INTEREST GROUPS ON THE INTERNET.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 NISSAN ALTIMA. WHILE DRIVING, THE ENGINE STALLED AND SHUT OFF. AS A RESULT, THE CONTACT WAITED A FEW MINUTES BEFORE RESTARTING THE VEHICLE. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC, BUT THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE DUPLICATED. THE LOCAL DEALER WAS CONTACTED AT 951-225-1309 AND ADVISED THE CONTACT TO CALL THE MANUFACTURER. THE MANUFACTURER FAILED TO ANSWER. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 141,595.
THE FLOOR BOARDS ARE RUSTING OUT FROM THE INSIDE ON BOTH SIDES OF THE CAR.

I HAVE 88,000 MILES ON MY NISSAN ALTIMA AT 30,000 MILES I CHANGED MY FIRST SET OF ROTORS, FOR A TOTAL OF 3 TIMES AND HERE WE GO AGAIN. I HAVE ALSO CHANGED THE PADS COUNTLESS TIMES. I WISH I HAD NEVER BOUGHT THIS VEHICLE.

MY CAR BRIEFLY STALLS WHEN I DRIVE HIGHWAY IN EVERYDAY. MECHANICS SAID IT IS CRANKSHAFT SENSOR ISSUE. I CHANGED IT WITH MY EXPENSE IN 2013 BUT SAME PROBLEM HAPPENS AGAIN. WHEN I CALL NISSAN, IT SAID MY CAR IS NOT UNDER RECALL.
ROTTED FLOOR BOARDS UNDER DRIVERS SEAT AND PASSENGER SEAT. VEHICLE FAILED INSPECTION ON APRIL 18, 2017. VEHICLE HAD JUST 101K MILES.
ON MY 2006 NISSAN ALTIMA, THERE HAS BEEN HUNDREDS AND HUNDREDS OF COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE RUST PROBLEM ON THE FRONT FLOORBOARDS. I HAVE A 16" BY 8" HOLE ON MY FRONT PASSENGER SIDE FLOORBOARD THAT I PUT MY FOOT INSIDE WHEN I WAS GETTING INSIDE MY CAR AND SLIGHTLY INJURED MY FOOT. THE ONLY THING HOLDING THIS HOLE IS THE CARPET THAT IS COVERING THE RUSTED OUT FLOOR PANEL. THIS IS A SUPER BIG SAFETY ISSUE THAT NEEDS TO BE RECALLED ON ALL NISSAN VEHICLES BEFORE ANY OTHER INJURIES OR COMPLAINTS TAKE PLACE. NISSAN WANTED TO CHARGE ME A $125 DIAGNOSIS FEE FOR SOMETHING YOU CAN PHYSICALLY SEE WITH YOUR OWN EYES.
