MY CAR CUT OFF BYSELF AND IT TAKE LONG TIME CRANK UP.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 NISSAN ALTIMA. THE CONTACT STATED THE VEHICLE FAILED TO START. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE CAM SENSOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 134,000.
TAKATA RECALL I WAS IN A AN ACCIDENT AS A PASSENGER, WE STRUCK A TREE HEAD ON AND THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG FAILED TO DEPLOY I WAS PARTIALLY EJECTED THROUGH THE WINDSHIELD AND SUFFERED LIFE THREATENING INJURIES AS RESULT.
THE FLOOR PANEL UNDER THE DRIVERS SIDE HAS RUSTED OUT AND NEED TO BE REPLACED OR REPAIRED.
CAR BURNING 3 QUARTS OF OIL WEEKLY, RESULTED IN CATALYTIC CONVERTER CODE, REPLACE CONVERTER, STILL BURNING ACCESSIVE OIL WITH SMOKE BELLOWING FROM TAIL PIPE. HAVE SEEN PREVIOUS RECALLS WHILE SEARCHING FOR A SOLUTION FOR THE SAME MAKE OF MY CAR. BOUGHT USED AFRAID THE ENGINE IS GOING TO BLOW.
CHECK ENGINE LIGHT KEEPS COMING ON, STATING LOW FUEL SENSOE OUT. $1200.00 WORHT OF WORK, REPLACED THE FUEL PUMP AND SENSOR. NOW THEY ARE STATING IT IS THE WIRING HARNESS ON FUEL PUMP SHORTING OUT. PART IS ON NATIONAL RECALL.
THE VEHICLE THREW A CODE FOR THE CAMSHAFT SENSOR HAD THAT REPLACED THEN THE VEHICLE THREW A CODE FOR THE CRANKSHAFT SENSOR. MIDAS REPLACED TWO OF THEM STILL COULD NOT CLEAR THE CODE. THE VEHICLE WILL START IN DRIVE BUT IT WILL SPUTTER WHILE STOPPED LIKE IT IS GOING TO STALL. WHEN SLOWING DOWN OR COMING TO A STOP THE CAR WILL SHUT OFF AND IS VERY DIFFICULT TO GET STARTED AGAIN.
MY 2009 NISSAN ALTIMA'S ELECTRONIC STEERING COLUMN LOCK MALFUNCTIONED AND MY GIRLFRIEND AND I WERE STRANDED IN THE MIDDLE OF A SNOW STORM. WE HAD TO CALL TRIPLE A TO HAVE THE CAR TOWED AFTER WAITING FOR 2 HOURS IN BELOW FREEZING TEMPERATURES. THERE WAS NO INDICATION THAT THIS WOULD HAPPEN IN THE YEARS LEADING UP TO WHEN IT OCCURRED. THE CAR WAS STATIONARY WHEN THIS HAPPENED. WE THEN PAID $1191.50 TO HAVE THIS FIXED AND ENDED UP MISSING A DAY OF WORK. IN FURTHER READING, I FOUND OUT THAT THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM AND THAT THERE WAS A PERIOD OF TIME WHERE OWNERS COULD HAVE THIS FIXED. NEITHER THE DEALER THAT I BOUGHT THE CAR FROM OR THE DEALER THAT SERVICES THE CAR INFORMED ME OF THIS ISSUE.
I WAS LEAVING A NAIL SALON PARKING LOT AND A TRUCK RAMMED INTO THE FRONT OF MY CAR POLICE WERE CALLED I GOT HIT PRETTY GOOD NO AIRBAG DEPLOYED I HIT MY FAVE ON THE WHEEL ARE OTHER PEOPLE HAVING THIS PROBLEM IN ACCIDENTS
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 NISSAN ALTIMA. WHILE DRIVING 10 MPH THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE FAILURE RECURRED MULTIPLE TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE CAM SENSORS FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 83,000. UPDATED 05/05/17*LJ THE CONSUMER STATED THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED, BUT DID NOT OFFER ANY ASSISTANCE. EXTREME RUST OF FLOORBOARDS. ON BOTH PASSENGER AND DRIVER SIDE OF VEHICLE, A 12"X24" AREA OF THE FLOORS ARE COMPLETELY GONE, WITH ONLY THE VEHICLE CARPET REMAINING. THIS IS MAJOR, WIDESPREAD SAFETY HAZARD ACROSS THE NISSAN PRODUCT LINE IN EARLY 2000S MODEL YEAR VEHICLES AND HAS BEEN WIDELY REPORTED ONLINE, IN PRINT, AND ON TV. IT'S A TRAVESTY THAT NHTSA HAS FAILED TO GIVE THIS ISSUE THE ATTENTION IT DESERVES AND FORCE NISSAN TO DO THE RIGHT THING IN ISSUING A RECALL. SO MANY OF THESE VEHICLES ARE STILL ON THE ROAD! THERE IS NO RUST ANYWHERE ELSE ON OUR VEHICLE; CLEARLY THIS IS A MANUFACTURING OR DESIGN FLAW. WE NOTICED THE RUST FOR THE FIRST TIME SEVERAL MONTHS AGO WHEN WE WERE IN FOR AN OIL CHANGE.
EXCESSIVE OIL CONSUMPTION ENGINE DAMAGE CAN OCCUR AND IN EXTREME CASES RESULT IN AN ENGINE FIRE. I HAVE TO REPLACED ENGINE AND I STILL HAVING ISSUES SPED OVER $5000 IN REPAIRS. *TR
DELAYED ACCELERATION AT FIRST BUT NOW HAS TROUBLE GETTING IN THIRD AND WILL NOT GO INTO FOURTH. CAR SHAKES AND MAKES LOUD NOISES WITH ANY ACCELERATION. RIDES ROUGH AND BURNS OIL. PROBLEM STARTED IN MOTION CROSSING A LARGE BRIDGE.
THERE HAS BEEN A RECALL FOR THE CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR FOR SOME 2006 NISSAN ALTIMA'S. MY CAR HAS CONTINUALLY NOT BEEN INCLUDED IN THIS LIST BUT I HAVE HAD PROBLEMS WITH THIS EQUIPMENT. 2 YEARS AGO I REPLACED THAT SENSOR AND RESET THE CRANKSHAFT POS AND REPROGRAMED THE ECM. NOW AGAIN MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND IT IS THE SAME SENSOR THAT IS CAUSING THE PROBLEM AND YET I AM STILL NOT ON THE RECALL LIST FOR THIS DEFECT. I AM SURE THAT OTHER INDIVIDUALS HAVE EXPERIENCED THE SAME THING. MY CAR ALSO CONSUMES OIL AT AN IRREGULAR PACE, WHICH IS ANOTHER RECALL, YET MY CAR IS NOT ON THAT RECALL EITHER.
THE CAR ALTERNATES RPMS ON COOL OR ALREADY RUNNING ENGINE, IT DOESN'T SEEM TO BE A FACTOR. THE ENGINE STALLS AND/OR COMPLETELY SHUTS OFF REGARDLESS OF SPEED, ACCELERATION OF DECELERATION STATUS, JUST STARTED OR ALREADY RUNNING ENGINE. ON OCCASION, IT TAKES A FEW CRANKS TO EVEN START THE ENGINE. SOMETIMES IT DOESN'T START AT ALL. THERE IS NO CLEAR PATTERN TO THESE EVENTS AND THEY ARE COMPLETELY RANDOM. THE PROBLEM HAS BEEN OCCURRING FOR OVER HALF A YEAR ALREADY
IT HAS RECENTLY COME TO MY ATTENTION THAT THE FLOOR PANS OF MY CAR HAVE RUSTED THROUGH TO THE POINT WHERE MY FOOT COULD GO THROUGH THE FLOOR PAN. AFTER TAKING MY CAR TO GET A SAFETY INSPECTION IN THE COMMONWEALTH OF VIRGINIA, MY CAR HAS FAILED INSPECTION AND CANNOT PASS UNTIL THESE HAZARDOUS HOLES ARE FIXED ON BOTH DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDE. THIS IS A MANUFACTURING ISSUE DUE TO THE NUMBER OF COMPLAINTS THAT HAVE BEEN FILED IN REGARDS TO THIS MATTER. OWNERS OF THESE VEHICLES SHOULD NOT BE HELD RESPONSIBLE OF THIS ISSUE. AGAIN, THIS IS A REOCCURRING ISSUE AMONG NISSAN ALTIMAS, SPECIFICALLY THE YEARS 2002-2006. I AM NOW REQUIRED TO PAY AT LEAST $500 TO REPAIR AN ISSUE THAT IS OUT OF MY CONTROL. THERE IS NO WAY THAT I CAN STOP RUST FROM OCCURRING. THESE CARS SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED TO BE DRIVEN BECAUSE EXHAUST FUMES CAN ENTER THE VEHICLE AS WELL AS A FOOT GOING THROUGH THE HOLES. IT IS UNETHICAL OF NISSAN TO ALLOW THESE VEHICLES TO STILL BE DRIVEN KNOWING THAT THIS IS A REOCCURRING ISSUE.
THE FLOORBOARDS ARE RUSTED OUT BELOW THE FRONT DRIVER AND FRONT PASSENGER FEET. MY MECHANIC TOLD ME IT WON'T BE LONG BEFORE I'LL HAVE TWO LARGE HOLES. SURFACE RUST OR WHEEL ARCH RUST IS ONE THING, BUT STRUCTURAL ROTTING FOR A CAR THAT'S 10 YEARS OLD IS EXCESSIVE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 NISSAN ALTIMA. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH AND VEERING LEFT, THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE WAS IMPACTED ON THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE BY AN ONCOMING VEHICLE. THE AIR BAGS HAD NOT DEPLOYED. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE CONTACT WAS INJURED AND RECEIVED MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A TOW YARD. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 93,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 NISSAN ALTIMA. WHILE DRIVING 20 MPH, THE CONTACT HEARD A NOISE UNDER HIS FEET AND NOTICED THAT THE DRIVER'S SIDE FLOOR BOARD WAS RUSTED OUT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE ISSUE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 110,000.
BOTH FLOOR PANELS RUSTED OUT. MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE. COST MORE TO FIX THAN WHAT THE CAR IS WORTH. I STILL OWE $4000 ON THE CAR AND IT'S NOW WORTH NOTHING. NISSAN DOING NOTHING ABOUT IT.
I HAVE AN 6" WIDE X 15" LONG HOLE IN THE PASSENGER SIDE OF MY CAR. (IN THE FLOOR BOARD) MY FRIEND ALMOST PUT HER FOOT THROUGH IT. I AM A WIDOW AND THE MECHANIC DISCOVERED IT WHEN DOING AN OIL CHANGE. TRADE IN VALUE BAD AND SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE. DEALER SENT ME TO NISSAN AND THEY GAVE ME A CASE #, BUT QUESTIONING WHY THERE WASN'T A RECALL.
"TAKATA RECALL" AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION: WHILE DRIVING, IT SHUTTERS WHEN SHIFTING FROM 1ST TO 2ND GEAR (APROX 20 MPH). SOUNDS AND FEELS AWFUL! PARKED IT, AND HAVEN'T DRIVEN IT SINCE.
DURING A RECENT OIL CHANGE, MY MECHANIC BROUGHT TO MY ATTENTION THAT THE FRONT SEAT FLOOR BOARDS WERE RUSTING ON BOTH THE DRIVERS AND PASSENGER SIDES. THE RUSTING AREAS LOOK ALMOST IDENTICAL. I RESEARCHED THIS ON THE INTERNET TO FIND THAT THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH 2002-2006 NISSAN ALTIMAS. THERE APPARENTLY HAVE BEEN A FEW CLASS ACTION LAWSUITS FILED AND SEVERAL TELEVISION REPORTS ON THE MATTER. I HAVE CALLED NISSAN; HOWEVER, THEY CLAIM IT IS NOT A DEFECT. I DISCUSSED WITH A NEIGHBOR RECENTLY WHO ALSO OWNS A NISSAN ALTIMA BUILT IN THAT TIMEFRAME AND FOUND OUT THAT HE TOO RECENTLY DISCOVERED THE RUSTING FLOOR BOARD ISSUE. NISSAN TOLD ME THAT I LIVED IN A SALT STATE AND DID NOT KNOW HOW I MAINTAINED MY VEHICLE; HOWEVER, GIVEN THE HUNDREDS AND PROBABLY THOUSANDS OF COMPLAINTS FILED, IT IS NEARLY IMPOSSIBLE FOR THIS ISSUE TO BE DUE TO OWNER NEGLIGENCE. MY HOPE WAS THAT MY 15 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER WOULD BE ABLE TO HAVE THIS CAR ONCE SHE GETS HER LICENSE, BUT NOW I'M FACED WITH SPENDING THOUSANDS TO EITHER FIX THE ISSUE (WHICH MAY NOT BE FIXABLE GIVEN THAT RUST AREAS GROW) OR TO BUY ANOTHER VEHICLE. THERE IS CURRENTLY A HOLE THROUGH MY FLOOR BOARD AND IT IS A SAFETY CONCERN TO ME, ESPECIALLY IF MY DAUGHTER IS BEHIND THE WHEEL.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 NISSAN ALTIMA. WHILE INSPECTING THE VEHICLE, THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT ONE OF THE WHEELS WAS POINTED INWARD. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE SUBFRAME WAS CRACKED, CORRODED, AND WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 06V046000 (SUSPENSION). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
CRANKSHAFT SENSOR IS BAD CAUSING THE CAR TO STALL AT ANY TIME - EVEN AT HIGH SPEEDS. IT HAS HAPPENED WHILE DRIVING SLOWLY THROUGH A NEIGHBORHOOD AS WELL AS ON AN INTERSTATE CAUSING THE CAR TO BE DIFFICULT TO STEER TO GET OFF THE ROAD. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS! CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME AND COMPUTER SAYS THAT ITS THE CRANKSHAFT/CAMSHAFT SENSOR THAT NEEDS REPLACING.
THE MOTOR STARTED MAKING NOISE A WEEK OR SO AGO. THE TIMING CHAIN HAS BECOME LOOSE DUE TO FAULTY PARTS INSTALLED MY NISSAN. THE GUIDES FOR THE CHAIN BREAK WHICH CAUSES THE TENSIONERS TO FAIL AND THEN THE CHAIN GETS LOOSE AND BOUNCES AROUND THE HOUSING. NISSAN HAS KNOWN ABOUT THE PROBLEM AND TRIED TO HIDE IT AND SHOULD BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE AND FORCED TO REPAIR THEIR FAULTY WORK.
MY 2006 NISSAN ALTIMA'S VIN NUMBER IS NOT ELIGIBLE FOR RECALL ANNOUNCED IN 2007 THAT DEALS WITH THE CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR BEING OVERHEATED, WHICH CAUSES THE CAR TO CUT OFF WHEN TRAVELING AT LOW SPEEDS OR WHEN STOPPED AT STOPLIGHTS OR STOP SIGNS. I FIRST EXPERIENCED THIS PROBLEM IN THE BEGINNING OF AUGUST AND IT HAS CONTINUED EVER SINCE. I EXPERIENCE THIS PROBLEM DAILY WITH MY CAR AND IT HAS CAUSED ME TO ALMOST GET INTO ACCIDENTS MULTIPLE TIMES, BUT FOR SOME REASON THE VIN NUMBER ON MY CAR ISN'T ELIGIBLE FOR THE RECALL THAT FIXED THE PROBLEM. WHEN I AM DRIVING AND STOPPED AT A STOP SIGN OR STOPLIGHT IMMEDIATELY MY CARS ENGINE TEMPERATURE GAUGE DROPS BELOW COLD, THEN THE CAR BEGINS TO RATTLE, THEN AFTER A FEW SECONDS THE CAR WILL CUT OFF. IT ALSO HAPPENS WHEN I TRAVEL AT LOW SPEEDS, SUCH AS 10MPH, WHICH HAS CAUSED TO ALMOST GET INTO ACCIDENTS A MULTITUDE OF TIMES. THE PROBLEM OCCURS ON ANY ROAD AS LONG AS I'M STOPPED OR GOING BELOW 10MPH. THE PROBLEM OCCURS EVERYDAY NOW AND AT EVERY STOP I MAKE AND IT IS VERY DANGEROUS. SINCE NISSAN KNOWS OF THIS ISSUE IN CARS OF THE SAME YEAR AND MODEL, I WOULD LIKE MY VIN NUMBER TO BE INCLUDED IN THE LIST OF THOSE THAT CAN PARTICIPATE IN THE RECALL. I HAVE HAD MANY MECHANICS LOOK AT THE CAR BUT NONE OF THEM KNOW HOW TO FIX IT.
IT SEEMS LIKE THIS IS A WIDESPREAD PROBLEM WITH OLDER ALTIMAS. APPARENTLY THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDE FORMS A RUST PROBLEM WHICH CAN CAUSE ONE TO FEEL UNSAFE DRIVING THE CAR. THE IMAGE I ATTACHED SHOWS THE FLOORBOARD NOT ONLY RUSTING BUT COMING OFF, AND I CAN PUSH ON THE BOTTOM OF THE CARPET FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY CAR. NISSAN KNEW OF THIS PROBLEM SINCE 2008 AND HAS NOT OFFERED ANY OBVIOUS STATEMENTS NOR RECALLS. THIS IS POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS AND IS AN EXPENSIVE REPAIR (FOR BOTH SIDE FLOORBOARD REPLACEMENT, IT CAN COST 3000)
I HAVE OWNED A 2006 NISSAN ALTIMA FOR THE LAST 6 YEARS THAT HAS 126,000 MILES ON IT. DURING A RECENT INSPECTION THE MECHANIC FOUND SEVERE RUSTING AND A SIGNIFICANT HOLE IN THE DRIVER'S SIDE FLOOR PAN; YOU COULD SEE THE INTERIOR CARPET FROM UNDERNEATH THE CAR. IT LOOKS LIKE THE FLOOR HAS BEEN ERODING FOR QUITE SOME TIME. AFTER SEARCHING FOR THIS ISSUE ONLINE, I LEARNED THAT THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH NISSAN ALTIMAS FROM 2002 TO 2006 RELATING TO A FAULTY DESIGN IN A DRAIN (THOSE WERE A NISSAN REPS OWN WORDS). I'M FRUSTRATED THAT THERE WERE NO RECALLS OR COMMUNICATIONS REGARDING THIS KNOWN ISSUE. I'D HOPE THAT NISSAN CAN BE COMPELLED TO BE TRANSPARENT AND FORTHCOMING WITH KNOWN ISSUES WHICH MAY BE A RISK TO CUSTOMERS' SAFETY.
THE FLOORBOARDS HAVE RUSTED RIGHT THROUGH TO THE OUTSIDE. THIS SHOULD NOT HAPPEN WITH NORMAL WEAR. WE HAVE JUST BEEN ALERTED TO THIS BY THE MECHANIC AND IT IS SO ADVANCED HE ADVISES WE DON'T USE THE CAR! REPAIRING IT IS PROBABLY MORE THAN THE CAR IS WORTH!

THE INDEPENDENT TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE FLOORBOARD NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 101,980.
WHEN DRIVING MY CAR CLOSE 65 MILES THERE IS LIKE A SMALL CUT OF OF POWER THEN THE ENGINE LIGHT TURNS ON , I PUT THE OBD SCANNER AND FOUND THAT THE EMC, ELECTRONIC CONTROL MODULE NEEDS REPROGRAMED, AND THE CPS CRANSHAFT POSITION SENSOR IS NOT WORKING PROPERLY... I READ THAT SOME NISSAN WHERE UNDER RECALL FOR THIS ISSUE BUT DEALER DO NOT WANT TO TAKE CARE OF MY VEHICLE BECAUSE THEY SAID IS NOT UNDER RECALL.I READ THAT THIS ISSUE COULD CAUSE AN ACCIDENT BECAUSE THE CAR CAN TURN OFF WHILE DRIVING.
EXCESSIVE RUSTING OF THE FLOORBOARDS. A GAPING HOLE IS IN THE FLOOR GOING THROUGH TO THE OUTSIDE OF THE CAR. THIS IS FRUSTRATING BECAUSE THIS CAR HAS BEEN GARAGE KEPT AT HOME AND AT WORK.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. PRIOR TO TAKING THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER, THE VEHICLE WAS REMEDIED PER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 07V527000(ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS INVALID. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 200,000.
FLOORBOARD RUSTING/ DRIVER SIDE FLOORBOARD COMPLETELY RUSTED OUT HOLE HOLE APPROXIMATE SIZE 24 INCH WIDTH X 36 INCH LENGTH
JUST LIKE WITH OTHER NISSAN RECALLS. MY CAN SHAFT POSITION SENSOR IS BAD AND IS CAUSING MY CAR TO DIE/QUIT IN THE MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC WHILE DRIVING IT
BETWEEN 3,000 MILE INTERVAL OIL CHANGES, THERE IS SIGNIFICANTLY AMOUNT OF OIL CONSUMPTION. THERE IS NO WHITE OR BLUE SMOKE THAT IS VISIBLE FROM THE MUFFLER, NO OIL LEAKS ARE VISIBLE AND NO BURNING ODOR. WHEN CHECKING OIL FLUID BETWEEN 3,000 MILE INTERVALS, HAVE NOTICED THE OIL FALLING BELOW MINIMUM LINE ON DIPSTICK. ON THAT SAME NOTE, THE DRIVE WAY DOES NOT SHOW ANY SIGNS OF OIL LEAK COMING FROM THE CAR.
DRIVER AND PASSENGER FLOOR PANELS RUSTED OUT. SAFETY ISSUE. CAR WILL NOT PASS INSPECTION. RESEARCH INDICATES THIS IS COMMON PROBLEM...WELL KNOWN TO NISSAN. NISSAN MANAGEMENT UNRESPONSIVE AND UNCOOPERATIVE.
AT AROUND 65K MY TRANSMISSION STARTED TO FAIL EVEN THOUGH I HAD REPLACED THE FLUID TWICE BY THAT MILEAGE AND TOOK IT TO THE DEALER I HAD AND EXTENDED WARRANTY BUT THE DEALER SAID IS WAS A BROKEN MOTOR MOUNT BUT IT WAS NOT TO TOO SOON AFTER THAT MY TRANSMISSION STARTED TO BANG ALOT AND KEEP READING ONLINE IT IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THIS PARTICULAR TRANSMISSION AND NOW AROUND 90K THE TRANSMISSION FINALLY FAILED.
I LOOKED UNDER MY CAR THIS EVENING AND FOUND A LARGE RUSTED OUT HOLE IN THE DRIVER'S SIDE FLOORBOARD. THE PASSENGER SIDE FLOORBOARD ALSO SEEMS TO BE RUSTING FROM THE INSIDE OUT.
PURCHASED THIS CAR USED FROM A DEALERSHIP 3 WEEKS AGO. WITHIN 1 WEEK THE CAR STALLED WHILE DRIVING. STARTED IT BACK UP WITH NO PROBLEMS. TOOK CAR ON A 750 MI. ROAD TRIP AND WHILE DRIVING 75MPH ON CRUISE CONTROL THE CAR BUCKED. AFTER REACHING OUR DESTINATION AND TURNING THE CAR OFF WE HAD TROUBLE RESTARTING IT. WHEN IT FINALLY STARTED THE SERVICE ENGINE SOON LIGHT CAME ON. TOOK IT TO A MECHANIC AND CODES CAME UP FOR THE CAM AND CRANK SHAFT SENSORS. REPLACED THESE SENSORS AND CLEARED CODES. DROVE CAR AWAY AND WITHIN 5MILES THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AGAIN AND AGAIN EXCESSIVE CRANKING WHEN TRYING TO START THE CAR. BROUGHT IT BACK TO MECHANIC AND THE BRAND NEW CAM SENSOR THAT WAS REPLACED LESS THAN 24HRS BEFORE TESTED OUT BAD. REPLACED SENSOR AGAIN AND CLEARED CODE AND CODE CAME UP FOR HIGH SPEED INPUT SENSOR ALONG WITH THE SAME CODES FOR CAM SHAFT AND CRANK SHAFT SENSORS. AGAIN TROUBLE STARTING VEHICLE. DROVE CAR 750MI. BACK HOME WITHOUT TURNING THE CAR OFF FOR FEAR OF NOT BEING ABLE TO START AGAIN. DEALING WITH A NISSAN DEALERSHIP TO TRY AND GET THIS FIXED. THIS ISSUE WAS UNDER RECALL BEFORE. THE BUCKING OF THE CAR WHILE DRIVING AT 75MPH WAS TERRIFYING AND SERIOUSLY DANGEROUS!

CAR WILL SLOW CRANK RANDOMLY, IT DOES IT COMPLETELY INTERMITTENT, EVEN WHEN ITS COLD OR HOT, THE FUEL PUMP WORKS PERFECTLY, THE STARTER IS NEW, IT HAS NEW CRANK AND CAM SENSORS, THE BATTERY AND ALTERNATOR ARE IN WORKING FINE, THE SPARK PLUGS AND IGNITION COILS ARE BRAND NEW, IT HAS BEEN DOING THIS SINCE I FIRST BOUGHT IT, IT HAD 148,000 MILES, SOMETIMES I HAD TO PUSH THE KEY TWICE OR MORE, THE ENGINE WILL CRANK WITH THE STARTER BUT WILL SIMPLY NOT TURN ON, AFTER I DO IT TWICE OR MORE THEN IT STARTS, I HAVE TRIED EVERY TRICK IN THE BOOK TO SEE IF IT STOPS HAPPENING RANDOMLY, I JUST WANT THIS CAR TO WORK FINE OR JUST NOT WORK AT ALL, I DONT LIKE THIS GAME. I HAVE HAD OVER THREE PROFESSIONAL MECHANICS TAKE A LOOK AT IT AND NOBODY KNOWS WHAT IT IS, IT JUST DOES IT WHENEVER IT WANTS. NO MATTER THE WEATHER OR ENGINE TEMPERATURE OR VOLTAGE OR FUEL PRESSURE,
EXTREME RUST AND CORROSION OF THE DRIVER'S SIDE FLOOR PANEL AND FRAME. RUSTED AREA IS ABOUT 3' X 1'. RUST HAS EXPOSED THE INSULATION UNDER THE CARPET; THERE IS NO METAL REMAINING IN A 4" X 6" AREA. METAL AROUND THIS IS VERY THIN. I AM CONCERNED THAT TOO MUCH PRESSURE FROM MY FOOT WILL CAUSE LARGER AREA TO COLLAPSE. ESTIMATE TO REPAIR AT A BODY SHOP IS ABOUT $1,400. I HAVE DRIVEN MANY CARS LONGER THAN THIS AND HAVE NEVER HAD A FRAME OR UNDERSIDE RUST LIKE THIS. IT IS SURELY A DEFECT IN MANUFACTURING AND A POSSIBLE SAFETY ISSUE IF MY FEET GO THROUGH THE HOLE OR A PIECE OF ROAD DEBRIS PENETRATES THE CARPET.
"TAKING RECALL"I GOT A 2006 NISSAN ALTIMA WHEN I LOOK UNDER THE COVER I SAW THE CONNECTORS THAT GOES TO SPARK PLUG MELTED BY OVER HEAT (SMALL FIRE)MY ENGINE CONTROL MODULE SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON IT READ SENSOR ONE TIME CRANKSHAFT NEXT TIME UP AND DOWN STREAM SENSOR LOT OF DIFFERENT READINGS WHICH IS NOT SAFE FOR ROAD WHICH MAY LEAD TO ACCIDENT.
THE FLOORBOARDS ARE RUSTING. PIECES HAVE BEEN FALLING FROM BOTH THE PASSENGER AND DRIVER'S SIDE.
NISSAN MECHANIC THE 5 SPEED AUTO IN THE 3.5L ALTIMA IS COMPLETEY DIFFERENT AND IS KNOWN TO HAVE VALVE BODY ISSUES FROM THE BUSHES DISTORTING IN THE SOLENOIDS AND CAUSING THEM TO HAND UP AND CAUSE HARD SHIFTS

TRAVELING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS OF 65-70 MPH, THE LEFT REAR TIRE(ECOPIA EP422 A/S P215/60R 16) RUPTURED ON THE INTERIOR SIDEWALL/SUSPENSION SIDE LEAVING A GAPPING HOLE 3X8 INCHES FROM THE TIRE RIM TOWARD THE TREADS. NO VISIBLE DAMAGE FROM SHARP OR FOREIGN OBJECT WAS VISIBLE WHERE TIRE RUPTURED. THE BRIDGESTONE TIRE HAD ONLY 9000 MILES, VERY GOOD TREADS(MORE THAN 4/32")ROTATED ON PRESCRIBED MILAGE INTERVALS FROM DATE OF PURCHASE(4/29/2014) AND JUST BEFORE THIS EXTENDED ROAD TRIP, ALONG WITH TIRE PRESSURE CHECKED WITH 29 PSI~NITROGEN. TIN#OBX8E2813 DATE OF TIRE FAILURE~7/11/2016. FORTUNATELY, ABLE TO CONTROL VEHICLE COMING TO A SAFE STOP ON THE FREEWAY SHOULDER. TIRE NO LONGER PRODUCED BY BRIDGESTONE, THEREFORE TWO NEW MATCHING TIRES WERE PURCHASED TO REPLACE THE OPPOSITE, GOOD TIRE AND THE FAILED TIRE.
