PROBLEM: MASTER CYLINDER LEAKING INTO THE BRAKE BOOSTER. I WAS FORTUNATE TO HAVE IT DISCOVERED DURING A ROUTINE OIL CHANGE APPOINTMENT PRIOR TO ANY BRAKE PROBLEMS ON THE ROAD. WHEN I GOT HOME, I DID AN INTERNET SEARCH TO SEE IF THERE WAS ANY INFORMATION ON THIS ISSUE. IN DOING SO, I DISCOVERED THAT THE NHTSA HAD RECEIVED SEVERAL COMPLAINTS AND WAS INVESTIGATING IT. ALSO, THERE HAD BEEN A RECALL OF 2007 NISSAN SENTRAS DUE TO THE SAME COMPONENT. THIS IS A SAFETY CONCERN AS WELL AS A COSTLY REPAIR JOB SO PLEASE ADD MY COMPLAINT TO YOUR FILE. THANKS. *TT
07 NISSAN ALTIMA SEDAN FACTORY REAR SWAY BAR SNAPPED UNEXPECTEDLY. *TR
2007 NISSAN ALTIMA WITH BROKEN REAR SWAY BAR. THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD AND I HAVE HAD NO SUCCESS THROUGH THE DEALER OR NISSAN CORPORATE TO RESOLVE. *TR
THE FIRST INSTANCE OF AN ISSUE WAS THE BRAKE LIGHT WOULD BLINK ON AND OFF IN MY CAR. I WAS TOLD AT THE DEALERSHIP THAT I SIMPLY NEEDED TO CHANGE MY BRAKE PADS. AFTER I CHANGED MY BRAKE PADS, THE PROBLEM WENT AWAY TEMPORARILY. THE DEALERSHIP THEN TOLD ME THAT I WAS SIMPLY LOW ON BRAKE FLUID AND THEY TOPPED THE FLUID OFF. THE LIGHT WENT AWAY TEMPORARILY AGAIN. THEN I STARTED TO NOTICE THAT MY BRAKE PEDAL STARTED STICKING WHEN IT WAS PRESSED. I WAS THEN TOLD AT THE DEALERSHIP THAT MY BREAK BOOSTER WAS BAD AND IT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. I LEFT MY CAR AT THE DEALERSHIP FOR REPAIR. AN HOUR LATER I WAS CALLED BY THE DEALERSHIP AND TOLD THAT THEY DISCOVERED MY BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER WAS LEAKING AND IT ALSO NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THIS IS A DANGEROUS ISSUE WITH THE VEHICLE AND IT NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED. I HAVE READ SEVERAL OTHER COMPLAINTS OF NISSAN ALTIMA OWNERS HAVING THIS ISSUE. *TR
STARTING IN 2011 EVERY ONCE IN A WHILE THE CRUISE CONTROL LIGHTS STARTED BLINKING WHICH DISABLED THE ABILITY TO USE THE CRUISE CONTROL. THE VEHICLE HAD TO BE TURNED OFF AND RESTARTED TO RESET THE LIGHTS AND BE ABLE TO USE CRUISE CONTROL. THIS BECAME MORE FREQUENT AS TIME WENT ON. NOW IN 2013 THE CRUISE CONTROL LIGHTS BLINK 99.99% OF THE TIME AND CANNOT BE RESET BY TURNING VEHICLE OFF. THE CRUISE CONTROL NOW DOES NOT WORK AT ALL EVEN ON THE RARE OCCASION WHEN THE LIGHT IS NOT BLINKING. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 NISSAN ALTIMA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 50 MPH, THE ENGINE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE FAILURE RECURRED SPORADICALLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER FOR DIAGNOSIS. THE DEALER ADVISED THE CONTACT THAT THE TRANSMISSION WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. IN ADDITION, THE TECHNICIAN INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE INCORRECT OIL DIPSTICK WAS INSTALLED IN THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THERE WAS A TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN ASSOCIATED WITH THE FAILURE UNDER NHTSA ITEM NUMBER: 10030088 (POWER TRAIN: AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION). THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 118,000.
I OWN A 2007 NISSAN ALTIMA. I NOTICED A PIECE OF METAL HANGING FROM UNDER THE CAR CLOSE TO THE REAR DRIVER SIDE TIRE. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER LAST TUESDAY AFTERNOON AND THEY SAID THE SWAY BAR WAS BROKE. THE CAR HAS NOT BEEN UNDER ANY ABUSE. I AM THE ONLY ONE WHO HAS EVER DRIVEN THIS CAR. BECAUSE OF THE BROKEN SWAY BAR IT CAUSE THE BALL LINKAGE JOINTS TO WEAR AND THE SHOCKS TO LEAK. IT COST ME $ 794.13 TO HAVE THIS REPLACED AND REPAIRED. I AM VERY UNHAPPY WITH NISSAN BECAUSE THIS IS A WELL KNOWN PRODUCT DEFECT AND A SAFETY DEVICE THAT HAS FAILED AND SHOULD BE RECALLED. I FEEL THAT THE CAR MAY HAVE REACTED POORLY IN AN EMERGENCY SITUATION. I WOULD APPRECIATE ANY AND ALL THE ASSISTANCE IN GETTING A RECALL, BULLETIN OR SPECIAL POLICY TO REIMBURSE THIS COST TO ME. I WALKED OUT OF MY HOUSE AND MY WINDSHIELD WAS CRACKED ON THE PASSENGER SIDE. THE CRACK BEGINS AT THE PASSENGER SIDE MOLDING OF THE WINDOW AND SPREADS ALL THE WAY TO THE MIDDLE OF THE WINDOW. ABOUT AN HOUR BEFORE, THERE WAS NOTHING ON MY WINDOW. SINCE THIS OCCURRED TO PRESENT, I HAVE SEEN ABOUT 3 OTHER NISSAN ALTIMA'S AND ONE BRAND NEW NISSAN MAXIMA, WITH THE SAME PROBLEM AND THE OWNERS HAVE ALSO STATED IT CRACKED OUT OF NOWHERE. I WAS ALSO ABLE TO FIND SEVERAL COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE SAME PROBLEM ONLINE. *TR
2007 NISSAN ALTIMA, BROKEN SWAY BAR, THIS VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN ABUSED, BUT THE SWAY BAR HAS BEEN BROKEN. I WILL NEED TO REPLACE THIS SWAY BAR ASAP. THIS WAS NOTICED 5/30/11. *TR
THE "BRAKE" LIGHT ON MY 2007 ALTIMA HAD BEEN COMING ON BRIEFLY THEN GOING OFF AGAIN FOR EXTENDED PERIODS FOR ABOUT THREE OR FOUR MONTHS. I HAD THE CAR AT THE DEALERSHIP FOR A TRANSMISSION ISSUE AT 40,000 MILES AND MENTIONED THE "BRAKE" LIGHT ISSUE AS AN ASIDE. DEALER THEN INSPECTED AND SAID THERE WAS AN INTERNAL LEAK INSIDE OF THE BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER AND THAT IT WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED AT A COST OF $460.00 I AGREED TO THE REPLACEMENT BECAUSE DEALER SAID THAT BRAKE FAILURE COULD OCCUR IF NOT REPLACED. MY RESEARCH INDICATED THAT OTHERS WERE HAVING A SIMILAR ISSUE WITH THE FAULTY BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER WITH THIS MAKE AND MODEL. *TR

I OWN 2 SUNSHINE KIDS RADIAN XSTL CAR SEATS. BOTH SEATS WERE PURCHASED AT THE SAME TIME AND ARE INSTALLED NEXT TO THE WINDOW SEATS IN MY 2007 NISSAN ALTIMA. BOTH SUPERLATCH BELTS LOOSEN THEMSELVES WHEN ATTACHED TO THE LATCH SYSTEM IN THE CAR. I AM APPALLED! MY CHILDREN HAVE NOT BEEN SAFELY SECURED DUE TO THIS! I HAVE INSTALLED AND UNINSTALLED BOTH SEATS MANY TIMES AND MAKE SURE THE SEATS ARE INSTALLED SECURELY EACH TIME. I HAVE A 2007 NISSAN ALTIMA 3.5SE WITH 38,000 MILES ON IT. I TOOK MY CAR TO CHANGE THE WINTER TIRES OUT AND THE MECHANIC INFORMED ME THAT MY REAR PASSENGER SIDE SWAY BAR WAS SNAPPED. I NEVER HIT ANYTHING AND THERE IS NO OTHER DAMAGE JUST SNAPPED IN 2. I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE USED WITH AN (NISSAN CERTIFIED) EXTENDED WARRANTY WITH APPROXIMATELY 25,000 MILES IN 2010. I HAVE HAD THE AUTOMATIC CVT TRANSMISSION REPLACED (UNDER WARRANTY---CVT REPLACED WITH NEW TRANSAXLE ASSEMBLY) ON THREE SEPARATE OCCASIONS BETWEEN 2011 AND 2013. IN EARLY 2013, ROSS NISSAN CLAIMED THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE TRANSMISSION AND DID NOT REPLACE IT, ONE MONTH LATER I TOOK IT TOO VALLEY HI NISSAN IN VICTORVILLE AND THEY TOLD ME THAT IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN REPLACED BY ROSS. THE PROBLEM IS AS FOLLOWS: THE CAR WHEN DRIVEN OVER LONG PERIODS OF TIME IN TRAFFIC (1 HOUR OR MORE), THE TRANSMISSION BEGINS TO WHINE,ESPECIALLY WHEN CLIMBING UP HILLS. ON OVER FIVE OCCASIONS THE CAR SPEED TOPPED OUT AT ABOUT 45-55 MPH ON THE FREEWAY AND COULD NOT GO FASTER ON STEEP INCLINES. I WOULD HAVE TO PULL THE CAR OVER TO THE SLOW LANE AS IT WOULD NOT ACCELERATE PAST THE 45-55 MPH UNTIL THE INCLINE IN THE FREEWAY LEVELED OFF. THIS HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES AND EACH TIME IT HAS HAPPENED, THE NISSAN DEALER WOULD EVALUATE IT AND STATE THAT THE TRANSMISSION WAS FAULTY. THE TRANSMISSION WERE REPLACED APPROXIMATELY AROUND 45K, 77K, 109K, IN DOING THE RESEARCH THE FOLLOWING BULLETINS SEEM TO MATCH THE PROBLEM THAT I'VE BEEN HAVING NTB-13-079 AND NTB-12-057 AND THE ONE MENTIONED BY THE DEALER WHICH I COULDN'T FIND ON THIS WEBSITE TSB-NTB10-143A. THEY ALL SEEM TO INDICATE A PROBLEM WITH THE FAIL SAFE FOR THE CVT TRANSMISSION FLUID PROTECTOR. I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY NISSAN WILL NOT REPLACE THIS ISSUE AS IT HAS HAPPENED ON SO MANY CARS. ALTHOUGH MY WARRANTY HAD EXPIRED, THE PROBLEM WAS NEVER SOLVED CORRECTLY. I DON'T TAKE THE CAR ON THE FREEWAY, BECAUSE I AM IN FEAR THAT I WILL BE RAMMED BY ANOTHER VEHICLE AS THE CAR WILL NOT ACCELERATE ON OCCASIONS WHEN THE CAR IS RUNNING TOO HOT. THE CAR/TRANSMISSION IS DEFECTIVE. *TR

AFTER DOING RESEARCH ON THE INTERNET I HAVE FOUND THAT THERE ARE MANY OTHER CONSUMERS WITH THE SAME EXACT PROBLEM - THEIR SWAY BAR JUST SNAPPED IN HALF TOO. I NOW HAVE TO PURCHASE THE EXPENSE CAR PART BECAUSE NISSAN WONT RECALL OR ADMIT TO HAVING THIS DEFAULT ON THE 2007 NISSAN ALTIMA. I ONLY HAVE 75,000 MILES ON MY CAR. *TR

I RECENTLY BOUGHT A 2007 NISSAN ALTIMA FROM A FRIEND, AFTER A MONTH OF DRIVING THE CAR WITH NO PROBLEM THE REAR SWAY BAR JUST SNAPPED IN HALF. I DID NOT HIT ANYTHING TO CAUSE THIS ACCIDENT. SO WHEN I ARRIVED BACK AT MY HOUSE I DID SOME SEARCHING ON THE INTERNET AND TO MY SURPRISE THIS SEEMS TO BE A SOMEWHAT WIDE SPREAD ISSUE WITH ALOT OF OTHERS OWNING MY SAME VEHICLE. I SPOKE TO MY LOCAL NISSAN DEALERS IN JACKSONVILLE FLORIDA WHO INFORMED ME THEY HAD NEVER HEARD OF SUCH A THING, AND HAD NEVER RECEIVED A VEHICLE IN FOR SERVICE WITH THIS ISSUE. SO THEN I CALLED NISSAN CONSUMER AFFAIRS DIRECTLY, WHO ALSO STATED THEY HAD NEVER HEARD OF THIS ISSUE, WHICH I FIND VERY HARD TO BELIEVE CONSIDERING A SIMPLE INTERNET SEARCH WILL REVEAL NUMEROUS PEOPLE HAVE HAD AND REPORTED THIS PROBLEM! I BELIEVE THIS IS DEFINITELY A PRODUCT DEFECT, AND NISSAN SHOULD ISSUE A RECALL IMMEDIATELY! *TR
THE BRAKE LIGHT SWITCH SYSTEM IS FAILING ON THE NISSAN ALTIMA. HYBRIDS AND 2.5S THE RESULT IS THAT YOU DRIVE THE CAR WITHOUT KNOWING THAT THE BRAKE LIGHTS ARE NOT WORKING. THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM BECAUSE ISSUED NTB10-139 REQUIRING REPLACMENT OF SWTICH AND HARNESS SUB ASSEMBLY. *TR

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 NISSAN ALTIMA. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING 2 MPH, THE RPMS STARTED TO INCREASE AND THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED WHILE THE TRYING TO PARK. THE CONTACT WAS APPLYING PRESSURE TO THE BRAKE PEDAL WHEN THIS OCCURRED CAUSING THE CONTACT TO CRASH INTO A POLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER. THE VEHICLE WAS INSPECTED BY AN ENGINEER FROM NISSAN WHO STATED THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE VEHICLE. THE ENGINEER ALSO STATED THE CONTACT MAY NOT HAVE HAD ENOUGH TIME TO STOP THE VEHICLE. NOTICED A KNOCKING NOISE TOWARDS THE REAR OF THE CAR. JUST ROTATED THE TIRES AND DISCOVERED THAT THE REAR SWAY BAR WAS BROKE IN HALF. WE HAVE 41000 MILES ON THE VEHICLE SO THIS SEEMS TO BE A DEFECT. I WILL HAVE IT REPAIRED AT MY EXPENSE. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 NISSAN ALTIMA SL. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVING ABNORMALLY ROUGH. LATER, HE DISCOVERED THAT THE REAR STABILIZER BAR WAS SEPARATED IN TWO PIECES. THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHERE HE WAS ADVISED THAT THE REAR STABILIZER BAR WOULD NEED REPLACING. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT YET REPAIRED BU THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO SECURE AN APPOINTMENT FOR REPAIRS. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 39,600 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 39,668. UPDATED 05/04/11 *BF UPDATED 05/09/11
I BOUGHT THIS CAR BRAND NEW WHEN IT WAS RELEASED IN LATE DECEMBER 2006, ALMOST 2 YEARS LATER, I HAD INFORMED MY TECH WHEN I WOULD BRING MY CAR IN FOR SCHEDULED OIL CHANGES THAT I HEAR A SLIGHT NOISE COMING FROM UNDER THE CAR AND SOMETIMES A VIBRATION, OVER THESE NEXT FEW MONTHS AND YEAS I HAVE BEEN TOLD IT WAS EITHER A BEND IN MY RIM, NEEDING NEW TIRES, TO HAVING EXHAUST LEAKS OR ALIGNMENT NEEDED. SO I WOULD TAKE IT TO ANOTHER SHOP AND THEY WOULD TELL ME DIFFERENT OR IF THEY CONFIRMED I WOULD GET THE SERVICE DONE AT A LICENSED MECHANIC. OVER TIME THE NOISE GREW LOUDER AND LOUDER AND DISMISSED EACH TIME I BOUGHT THE CAR IN FOR SERVICE. UNTIL RECENTLY I FIGURED OUT THAT THE NOISE WOULD ONLY BE HEARD AND PRESENT AFTER HIGHWAY DRIVING FOR 45MIN OR MORE. SO I REPRODUCED THE CONDITIONS BEFORE I TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTICS THEN THE ADVISED ME THAT THERE WAS SEVER RUST TAKING PLACE INSIDE THE TRANSMISSION. THE TECH PRECEDED TO TELL ME THAT MAY HAVE STARTED WHEN MY CAR WAS IN AN ACCIDENT 3 YEARS AGO IN 2008. I CONTACTED THE BODYSHOP THAT DID THE REPAIRS THE PROVIDED PAPERWORK PROVING THAT MY TRANSMISSION WAS NEVER EFFECTED OR TOUCHED AS PART OF THE ACCIDENT. THE TRANSMISSION IS STILL UNDER WARRANTY, AND I EVEN HAVE PAPERWORK FROM THE SAME NISSAN DEALERSHIP THAT SHOWS THAT NISSAN DID A MULTIPOINT INSPECTION WHERE THEY INSPECTED THE TRANSMISSION AND ITS FLUID JUST 8 MONTHS PRIOR AND FOUND IT TO BE IN GOOD CONDITION N NO PRESENCE OF RUST OR FLUID ISSUES. NISSAN IS REFUSING TO OWN UP TO THE MALFUNCTIONING OF THERE CVT TRANSMISSION AND COST FOR REPLACEMENT. *TR

I WAS WALKING UP TO MY CAR WHEN I SAW SOMETHING DANGLING NEAR THE REAR DRIVER SIDE WHEEL. IT TURNED OUT TO BE THE REAR SWAY BAR HAD BROKEN INTO TWO PIECES. MY MECHANIC FRIEND INSISTED TO REMOVE IT RIGHT AWAY AS IT WOULD BE TOO DANGEROUS TO DRIVE. WHEN WE REMOVED IT, THERE WAS INDICATION OF RUSTING INSIDE THE SWAY BAR. NISSAN DEALERS WOULD NOT REPLACE IT UNDER WARRANTY AS MY CAR HAD EXCEEDED 60,000 MILES. I AM NOW SEARCHING FOR NEW SWAY BAR TO REPLACE IT. *TR

MY BRAKE LIGHT HAS BEEN GOING ON AND OFF FOR A COUPLE OF YEARS NOW ON MY 2007 NISSAN ALTIMA. I HAVE THE CAR 3 YEARS NOW AND THE DEALERSHIP ADDRESSED THE ISSUE BY RESETTING THE ALARM AND TOPPING OFF THE BRAKE FLUID. NOW, THEY TELL ME THAT I NEED TO PAY $560 TO REPLACE THE MASTER CYLINDER BRAKE AND IF I DON'T IT WILL FAIL AND I COULD BE INVOLVED IN A FATAL CRASH DEPENDING ON WHERE I AM AT WHEN IT HAPPENS. OF COURSE MY CAR IS JUST OUT OF WARRANTY. I SEE MANY COMPLAINTS ON THIS AND THE NISSAN SENTRA WAS RECALLED. WHY NOT THE NISSAN ALTIMA. IT'S ALMOST LIKE THEY ARE GAMBLING WITH OUR LIVES AND TAKING CARE OF THE SITUATION ONLY AFTER THE WARRANTY HAS RUN OUT. TOYOTA APPARENTLY WAS NOT THE ONLY ONE WITH A BRAKE ISSUE!! *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 NISSAN ALTIMA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT ACCELERATE PAST APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH. THE FAILURE OCCURRED MULTIPLE TIMES. THE ENGINE COOLING ASSEMBLY ON THE NISSAN ALTIMA FROM 2007-2012 AFTER THEY REACH A CERTAIN AMOUNT OF MILEAGE THEY BEGIN TO START LEAKING OIL. IT STARTS OFF WITH JUST A COUPLE OF DRIPS AND OVER TIME IT PROGRESSIVELY GETS WORSE. THERE ARE A NUMEROUS NUMBER OF INDIVIDUALS ONLINE ASKING IF OTHERS WITH THE SAME TYPE OF VEHICLE ARE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM. SO OBVIOUSLY THERE IS A FAULTY PART THAT WAS INSTALLED ON THESE VEHICLES THAT NISSAN IS AVOIDING THE REAL SIGNIFICANCE OF THE ISSUE. WHICH CAN CAUSE YOUR VEHICLE TO LOSE ALL THE ENGINE OIL WITHOUT REALIZING IT AND DAMAGING YOUR ENGINE. I AM ONE OF THOSE INDIVIDUALS HAVING THE SAME ISSUE ON MY VEHICLE, WANTING NISSAN TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THESE COSTS. THE REPLACEMENT OF THE ENGINE OIL COOLING ASSEMBLY IS QUITE COSTLY. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO PASSENGER AIR BAG SENSOR WARNING LIGHT ISSUES. *SMD THE CONSUMER STATED HE TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER, FOR A SCHEDULED SERVICE VISIT, AS WELL AS FOR A BLINKING PASSENGER AIR BAG LIGHT. THE DEALER INFORMED THE CONSUMER, THE SEAT CUSHION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AND IT WOULD COST $ 1693.55. THE CONSUMER DECLINED THE REPLACEMENT. THROUGH RESEARCH, THE CONSUMER DISCOVERED HIS MAKE, MODEL AND YEAR WAS SUBJECT TO A RECALL CAMPAIGN ON NOVEMBER 8, 2008. HOWEVER, HE WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE RECALL CAMPAIGN BULLETIN. NISSAN NORTH AMERICA, INFORMED THE CONSUMER HIS VEHICLE IDENTIFICATION NUMBER, DID NOT FALL WITHIN THE RANGE OF THE AFFECTED VEHICLES. THE CONSUMER REFERENCED RECALL # 08V521000. *JB

THE FAILURE CONTINUED AND THE DRIVER BEGAN TO NOTICE THAT THE ENGINE WAS CONSUMING OIL AT A VERY RAPID RATE. THE CONTACT EXPRESSED CONCERNS OVER A POSSIBLE FIRE OR THE ENGINE STALLING. VIA INTERNET RESEARCH SEEMS TO BE AN ISSUE CONSTANT WITH NISSAN ALTIMAS. IS IT A SAFETY ISSUE? OBVIOUSLY. I HAVE PUSH BUTTON START. WHEN I PUSH THE BUTTON IT WILL CLICK AS IF THE BATTERY IS DEAD (NEW BATTERY) AND THEN NOTHING. I PUSH 7 TO 16 MORE TIMES AND THEN THE CAR STARTS. IT MAY DO THAT SEVERAL DAYS IN A ROW, SEVERAL TIMES ON ONE DAY, OR NOT FOR SEVERAL WEEKS. I TOOK IT TO MY MECHANIC (NOT NISSAN) AND THE DIAGNOSTIC TEST SHOWED NOTHING WRONG. MECHANIC THOUGHT MAYBE IT COULD BE A STARTER BEGINNING TO GO BAD BUT THERE WAS NOTHING TO POINT TO THE STARTER. HE CALLED IT A "GHOST" PROBLEM BECAUSE IT COMES AND GOES. IT SEEMS TO ME THAT THE PROBLEM IS THE IGNITION SWITCH. ONCE IT CATCHES, THE CAR RUNS JUST FINE. I BELIEVE MY ISSUE IS RELATED TO THE PRESENT NISSAN RECALL ALTHOUGH MY CAR IS NOT PART OF THE GROUP.
