TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 NISSAN ALTIMA. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE LOW-BEAM HEADLIGHTS FAILED TO PRODUCE ADEQUATE LIGHTING. THE AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT WAS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT CALLED DEACON JONES NISSAN (3305 MCLAIN ST, GOLDSBORO, NC 27534, (919)734-2411). THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED HOWEVER, NO FURTHER ASSISTANCE WAS PROVIDED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 116,000. *BF
The low beam headlights are so dim that it is near impossible to drive at night. There is no haze on the exterior part of the headlight. I have tried replacing the bulbs but it did not improve the visibility. I first noticed it summer of 2020, but it has gotten much worse over time.
The contact owns a 2013 Nissan Altima. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, the headlights were significantly dim, affecting the driver’s visibility of the roadway. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact stated that sometimes she drove with the high beams activated to make the roadway more visible, even though it was distracting to oncoming drivers. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who inspected the vehicle and diagnosed that the headlights needed to be replaced under Nissan Lawsuit Settlement Service Campaign Number: PC861. However, the dealer informed the contact that the parts for repair were not yet available. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the dealer. The failure mileage was approximately 60,000.
TRANSMISSION WILL NOT SHIFT INTO GEAR. *TR
CAR STALLED IN MIDDLE OF ROAD WHILE TURNING LEFT. STARTED AGAIN, BUT DIED WHEN PUT IN GEAR. PUSHED IT OUT OF THE ROAD AFTER TRAFFIC CLEARED. ATTEMPTED TO DRIVE IN FOR REPAIRS NEXT DAY, BUT IT SPUTTERED AND DIED HALFWAY THERE. HAD IT TOWED TO DEALER. DEALER SAYS $4300.00 FOR TRANSMISSION REPLACEMENT. DEALER SAID HE WAS UNAWARE OF THIS PARTICULAR PROBLEM AND THAT THE 3 OUTSTANDING RECALLS WERE FOR MINOR SAFETY ADJUSTMENTS. CLEARLY LYING TO ME GIVEN THE WEALTH OF DATA REGARDING SIMILAR TRANSMISSION FAILURES FOR THIS MODEL/YEAR I HAVE FOUND ONLINE. AT NO POINT WAS THERE A WARNING/HAZARD/ENGINE LIGHT ON. VERY VERY DANGEROUS DEFECT AND SHOULD BE SUBJECT TO RECALL. *TR

SAFETY RISK IF THE DRIVER INADVERTENTLY RELEASES THE PRIMARY HOOD LATCH (EX. WHILE REFUELING) OR THE HOOD IS NOT CLOSED PROPERLY, THE SECONDARY HOOD LATCH MAY NOT HOLD THE HOOD CLOSED WHILE THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION. THE HOOD MAY OPEN WITHOUT WARNING AND OBSTRUCT THE DRIVER S FORWARD VIEW, AND MAY INCREASE THE RISK OF CRASH. REMEDY A REMEDY PLAN IS CURRENTLY UNDER DEVELOPMENT. The contact owns a 2013 Nissan Altima. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 20V315000 (Latches/Locks/Linkages) however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The dealer had been notified of the recall however, the contact was informed repeatedly that parts were not yet available. The manufacturer had not been notified of the issue. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The contact had not experienced a failure. Parts distribution disconnect.
I WAS MAKING A LEFT TURN AND I HEARD A POP AND PULLED OVER AND AS I PUT IT IN PARK MY TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT CAME ON SO I WENT OUT TO INSPECT WHAT HAPPENED, CHECKED THE FRONT NORMAL, WHEN TO THE REAR NOTICED MY DRIVER SIDE WHEEL IS TURNED IN, WENT UNDER THE CAR TO LOOK AND NOTICED MY REAR LOWER CONTROL ARM RUSTED AND SNAPPED OFF THE BOLT THAT CONNECTS IT TO THE BODY. *TR
CANT GET CAR TO GO FROM PUT TO DRIVE ALWAYS GOTTA KEEP RESTARTING I THINK ITS SHIFT LOCK I KEEP PUTTING FOOT ON BRAKE AND HAVE TOO DO IT 3 OR 4 TIMES VERY STRESSFUL. *TR
YOU CAN NOT USE REGULAR LIGHTS TO SEE WITH THIS CAR AT NIGHT. YOU MAY GET A GOOD FOOT OF LIGHTING IN FRONT OF THE CAR. VERY DANGEROUS. YOU COULD BE DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY AND BE SURPRISED BY A CURB OR GOING DOWN A STREET AT NIGHT WITH NO LIGHTING AROUND YOU AND HIT SOMETHING BC YOU CAN'T SEE ANYTHING. THE BRIGHTS WORK WONDERS BUT I CAN'T JUST GO AROUND BLINDING PEOPLE... *TR
CAN'T SHIFT OUT OF PARK. MULTIPLE NISSAN VEHICLES OF THIS EXACT MODEL YEAR HAVE THE SAME ISSUE. OVER 500+ COMPLAINTS HAVE BEEN MADE ABOUT THE SHIFT LEVER GETTING STUCK IN PARK, AND THE ISSUE IS DUE TO A WEAK PLASTIC BIT THAT BREAKS ON THE INSIDE OF THE CENTER CONSOLE. THIS WOULD BE A MAJOR ISSUE FOR SOMEONE TRYING TO MOVE THEIR CAR WHEN STUCK IN TRAFFIC AFTER PUTTING IN PARK, ONLY TO REALIZE THEY CAN'T TAKE IT OUT OF PARK. I CONTACTED MY LOCAL NISSAN DEALER, TO WHICH QUOTED ME 400$ FOR THE REPAIR COSTS AND THEN LET ME KNOW OF MULTIPLE PEOPLE WHO HAVE CALLED WITH THE SAME COMPLAINT. THIS TYPICALLY HAPPENS AROUND 75,000 MILES. THIS CAN BE A MAJOR SAFETY CONCERN, AND SHOULD BE RECALLED DUE TO THE NUMBER OF ISSUES THAT OWNERS HAVE HAD WITH THE EXACT MODEL.
HAVE BEEN WAITING OVER 6 MONTHS FOR RESOLUTION REPAIR TO THE HOOD LATCH, I AM LOOSING INCOME WAITING ON RECALL REPAIR
REAR STEERING LINE RUSTED SEPARATED FROM THE CAR FRAME. CAR WAS BACKING OUT OF THE DRIVEWAY WHEN IT BROKE FREE FROM THE FRAME. THIS WAS ON RECALL IN THE SALT STATES AND I LIVE IN MICHIGAN BUT THEY STATED MY VIN WAS ORIGINALLY SOLD IN CALIFORNIA BUT I HAVE OWNED IT SINCE 2014 IN MICHIGAN. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 NISSAN ALTIMA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE HEADLIGHTS WERE EXTREMELY DIM AND PRESENTED A DRIVING HAZARD WHILE DRIVING AT NIGHT OR IN LOW LIGHT CONDITIONS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO PETRO NISSAN (6248 US-98, HATTIESBURG, MS 39402, (601) 450-1470) HOWEVER, THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT UNDER RECALL. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED HOWEVER, THERE WAS NO RESPONSE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 80,000.
THE HEADLIGHTS ON MY 2013 NISSAN ALTIMA ARE VERY DIM. HAD THE BULBS REPLACED BUT HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM.
INITIALLY, THE VEHICLE TREMBLED AND CUT OFF AT TRAFFIC LIGHT. MECHANIC DISCOVERED THAT IT THREW A CODE WITH FLUID PRESSURE SENSOR ISSUE IN TRANSMISSION. REPLACED TRANSMISSION WITH USED ONE...SAME CODE. REPLACED THAT ONE WITH REBUILT TRANSMISSION, THROWING THE SAME CODE. IF TRYING TO ENTER ROAD, IT MAY FEEL STRONG ENOUGH TO ENTER HIGHWAY, THEN LOSSES THROTTLE RESPONSE. IT MAY CONTINUE WITH ABOUT 20 MPH SPEED. THEN AGAIN, IT MAY START OFF ALRIGHT AND BECOMES OBVIOUS AT SOME SPEEDS THAT THE RPM IS GREATER THAN IT SHOULD BE FOR THE SPEED VEHICLE IS MOVING. NISSAN DEALERSHIP HAS HAD VEHICLE FOR WELL OVER 2 WEEKS AND HAVE NO ANSWERS. ASKED THEM TO CHECK ELECTRICAL AND THE COMPUTER, STILL NO ANSWERS AND HARDLY ANY COMMUNICATIONS AT ALL. IT IS WELL DOCUMENTED THAT THE CVT TRANSMISSIONS ARE A SERIOUS PROBLEM WITH THESE VEHICLES, BUT AFTER THE ISSUES EXPERIENCED, THIS COULD BE A POSSIBLE COMPUTER ISSUE. EITHER WAY IT IS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION AND A LOT OF MONEY SPENT WITH NO RESULTS. *TR
THE AIRBAG LIGHT FOR THE PASSENGER SIDE STAYS ON WHICH MEANS THE AIRBAG ON THE PASSENGER SIDE WILL NOT DEPLOY BECAUSE IT'S NOT DETECTING ANY WEIGHT. EVEN WHEN SOMEONE SITS IN IT IT DOESN'T DETECT WEIGHT. THE TIRES ARE CONSTANTLY LOSING AIR.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 40 MPH ON A WINDY DAY, THE HOOD ERRONEOUSLY OPENED CRASHING INTO THE FRONT WINDSHIELD AND SEVERELY DAMAGING THE HOOD AND THE ROOF OF THE VEHICLE. DURING THE INCIDENT, THE DRIVER SUSTAINED A BRUISED RIGHT LEG AND CONTACT FROM GLASS PIECES. THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN TO THE CONTACT'S RESIDENCE AND LATER TOWED TO THE LOCAL DEALER COLLINS NISSAN (4142 BARDSTOWN RD, LOUISVILLE, KY) WHERE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DETERMINED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VIN SEARCH INDICATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS INCLUDED NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V029000 (STRUCTURE). THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE HAD EXPERIENCED THE SAME FAILURE LISTED IN THE RECALL. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND A CASE WAS OPENED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 190,000.
THE VEHICLE GEAR SHIFT WOULD NOT MOVE FROM THE PARK (P) POSITION WHILE DEPRESSING THE BRAKE PEDAL. APPARENTLY THIS IS A KNOWN SHIFT LOCK ISSUE BASED ON SIMILAR COMPLAINTS ON THE NHTSA WEBSITE AS WELL AS NISSAN OWNER TESTIMONIES. THE FAULT AS IT WAS EXPLAINED BY A NISSAN TECHNICIAN WAS THE SHIFTER SHORTS-OUT THE SHIFT LOCK SOLENOID WHICH ENGAGES THE UNLOCK FOR THE SHIFTER WHEN THE BRAKE PEDAL IS DEPRESSED. COST TO REPAIR THE ISSUE IS ROUGHLY $800 BY REPLACING THE SHIFT HANDLE ASSEMBLY AND THIS "REPAIR" IS DUE TO A FAILURE OF A LOW COST SOLENOID SWITCH. THE CONSUMER SHOULD NOT BE ACCOUNTABLE OF FAULTY DESIGN. ACCORDING TO NISSAN, THIS IS NOT A SAFETY OR DESIGN ISSUE, BUT WEAR AND TEAR OF THE VEHICLE. HOPEFULLY NHTSA WILL REVIEW THE FACTS OF THESE COMMON OCCURRENCES AND DETERMINE IF IT IS INDEED WORTHY OF RECALL REPAIR.
HEADLIGHTS VERY DIM, CANT SEE AT NIGHT UNLESS YOU USE THE BRIGHTS, VERY DANGEROUS, AND PASSENGER AIRBAG REMAINS OFF, COMMON PROBLEM ON A 2013 NISSAN ALTIMA.
REPLACED THE BATTERY AND NOW BRAKE LIGHT AND CHECK ENGINE LIKE IS ON AND WON'T START. BRAKES ARE HARD. CAR WAS PARKED FOR 2 DAYS AND CAME OUT TO A DEAD BATTERY. REPLACED BATTERY AND THE COPPER BATTERY CONNECTOR. WENT TO START IT AND THEN ALL THESE OTHER ISSUES HAPPENED. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER HAD BEEN INFORMED OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VIN WAS NOT UNDER RECALL. THE CONTACT RELATED THE FAILURE TO AN UNKNOWN RECALL. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 133,000. *DT
VEHICLE WOULD NOT ACCELERATE WHEN DRIVING, STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT AND WHEN THE LIGHT TURNED GREEN THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT LONGER MOVE. HAD TO TURN THE VEHICLE OFF AND RESTART TO GET IT TO MOVE AND EVEN THEN IT TOOK A SECOND FOR IT TO START MOVING. NO WARNING LIGHTS WERE GIVEN AND NO PREVIOUS ISSUES. TOOK IT TO GET A DIAGNOSTIC CHECK AND WAS TOLD THAT THOSE VEHICLES HAVE SHOWN TRANSMISSION ISSUES. CALLED NISSAN AND THEY TOLD ME THEY WERE UNABLE TO ASSIST. *TR
DRIVING AT NIGHT IS A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE WITH MY 2013 NISSAN ALTIMA SV. WITH THE LOW BEAMS ON YOU CANNOT SEE THE ROAD AHEAD OR ANY OBSTACLES THAT MIGHT BE AHEAD. THESE HEADLIGHT SHOULD BE A RECALL. HORRIBLE DESIGN. *TR
THE TRANSMISSION IN MY VEHICLE SHUDDERS BETWEEN 1000 AND 2000 RPM. ALSO, IT WILL DO THE SAME SHUDDER AT HIGHWAY SPEED SUDDEN ACCELERATION. WORSE THE WARMER THE TRANSMISSION GETS.
LAST WEEK I HAD A CATASTROPHIC FAILURE OF A REAR CONTROL ARM WHILE DRIVING 50 MILES AN HOUR COSTING ME 700 DOLLARS IN REPAIR WITH A USED PART AS AN EMERGENCY FIX. REAR PASSENGER SIDE. TODAY AFTER HAVING BY CAR BACK THE DRIVERS SIDE REAR CONTROL ARM SNAPPED THIS TIME WHILE DRIVING ON A ROAD IN TOWN AT 25 MILES AN HOUR. THESE CARS ARE CERTAIN TO GET SOMEONE KILLED IF NISSAN DOESN'T ADDRESS THEM. I AM FURIOUS AND SCARED TO DRIVE THIS VEHICLE. I KNOW THOUSANDS OF COMPLAINTS HAVE BEEN MADE. I NEED SOMETHING DONE ABOUT THIS.
THE FRONT LOW BEAM REGULAR HEADLIGHTS ARE WAY TOO DIM NOW, THERE'S BARELY ANY ILLUMINATION. MY WIFE WAS JUST PULLED OVER LAST NIGHT AS THE OFFICER THOUGHT SHE HAD HER LIGHTS OFF. IT'S BEEN THIS WAY FOR A WHILE AND SO MANY PEOPLE ONLINE ARE REPORTING THE SAME PROBLEM. THE BULBS THEMSELVES ARE JUST FINE. IT APPEARS TO BE THE REFLECTIVE COATING IN THE PROJECTOR HOUSING THAT BURNS OFF AND THEN IT BASICALLY STOPS PROJECTING ANY LIGHT OUT. VERY DANGEROUS AND NOW GETTING PULLED OVER. THE LOW BEAMS ON THIS VEHICLE ARE EXTREMELY UNSAFE. IF THERE WAS TO BE A CHILD OR AN ANIMAL DARTING IN FRONT OF ME, THEY WOULD BE DONE. I DO NOT UNDERSTAND WHY THERE IS NO RECALL ON THIS SINCE IT IS A SAFETY ISSUE. I REPLACED BULBS BUT IT DIDNT MAKE A DIFFERENCE.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE ATTEMPTING TO SHIFT GEARS, THERE WAS A LAG IN BETWEEN WHEN THE VEHICLE RESPONDED AND THE RPM AT THE TIME THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTED TO THE NEXT GEAR. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WITH THE VEHICLE ON CRUISE CONTROL THE VEHICLE REVVED UP WITH THE TRANSMISSION SLIPPING. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE MAKING A LEFT TURN AT APPROXIMATELY 10 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS PUSH TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. ADDITIONALLY, WHILE DRIVING, THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED TO THE FLOORBOARD HOWEVER, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO RESPOND. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO BE DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 96,045.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO SHEEHY NISSAN OF MANASSAS LOCATED AT (9010 LIBERIA AVE, MANASSAS, VA 20110). THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT BOTH HEADLAMP ASSEMBLY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED DUE TO THE PROJECTOR BOWL FADING. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 74,254.
DRIVER AND PASSENGER AIRBAG LIGHTS STAY ON NO MATTER IF SOMEONE IS OCCUPYING EITHER SEAT.
I HAVE BEEN EXPERIENCING VERY POOR LIGHTING FROM MY 2013 NISSAN ALTIMA HEADLAMPS. IT IS VERY DIFFICULT TO SEE WHILE DRIVING AT NIGHT, LIGHTING IS TERRIBLE AND VERY UNSAFE. I HAVE MENTIONED TO DEALER MANY TIMES, AND THEY HAVE TOLD ME THERE IS NO CURRENT RECALL. I'M SHOCKED, AS I HAVE READ MANY COMPLAINTS ONLINE, AND THE NHTSB HAS NOT RECALLED THESE VEHICLES FOR SAFETY CONCERNS. WHY IS NISSAN DOING NOTHING???
HEAD LIGHTS JUST DIMMED UNABLE TO DRIVE AT NIGHT
DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD, HEAR A POP AND GET OUT TO LOOK, REAR PASSENGER CONTROL ARM CORRODED TO THE POINT IT IS BROKEN RIGHT OFF THE CENTER TO WHICH IT WAS ATTACHED.
PURCHASED MY CAR IN 2014 WITH 36000 MILES. AROUND 55,000 MILES THE GEAR SHIFTER COMPLETELY WENT OUT. NOW I'M AT 107,000 MILES AND MY CAR IS STALLING WHEN STOPPED. THE CAR IS NOT READING ANYTHING ON THE DIAGNOSTIC TESTS AT THE DEALERSHIP AND NO ONE IS ABLE TO TELL ME WHAT IS WRONG WITH THE CAR. I LIVE IN A HIGH TRAFFIC AREA SO THIS IS A VERY BIG DEAL.
WHEN PUSHING THE GAS ON THE HIGHWAY OR THE STREETS IT FEELS LIKE THE POWER OF THE CAR IS HOLDING BACK. FEELS LIKE THE GEARS ARE MESSING UP. AND THERE'S PROBLEM WITH CATALYST CONVERTER. IT'S ALWAYS SHOWING CHECK ENGINE LIGHT EVEN AFTER I HAVE TRIED OTHER SOLUTIONS ON FIXING THAT AND THE GAS ODOMETER IS NOT READING THE GAS LEVELS RIGHT EITHER. PLUS THE PASSENGER SEAT BUCKLE IS STUCK AND DOESN'T LATCH TO THE SEAT BELT FOR A HOLD FROM A CAR ACCIDENT. LIKE YOU HAVE TO REALLY PUSH HARD FOR THE SEAT BELT TO HOLD ON.
I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD ABOUT 35 MPH. WITHOUT WARNING, THE CAR STARTED TO SWAY AND I ALMOST LOST CONTROL. I PULLED OVER TO CHECK THE TIRES AND EVERYTHING LOOKED OK. I STARTED TO DRIVE AND AS I GOT UP TO 20 MPH IT STARTED TO SHAKE VIOLENTLY. THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION AND NEEDS IMMEDIATE ATTENTION.
THE LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS IN MY 2013 NISSAN ALTIMA ARE VERY DIM. I CHANGED THE HEAD LAMPS THINKING THAT MAYBE THE OLD LIGHTS HAD JUST AGED AND LOST BRIGHTNESS. THIS DID NOT MAKE A SIGNIFICANT CHANGE IN THE BRIGHTNESS. I RESEARCHED ON-LINE AND FOUND MULTIPLE REPORTS THAT FROM 2013-2015 PEOPLE WITH NISSAN ALTIMA'S HAD SIMILAR COMPLAINTS. THE PROBLEM WAS CONCERNING ENOUGH THAT DURING A ROUTINE MAINTENANCE OF MY VEHICLE I ASKED THE DEALER HOW MUCH IT WOULD COST TO REPLACE THE HEADLAMP ASSEMBLIES. IT WAS AROUND $1000. YIKES. RECENTLY I HAD A 'NEAR MISS' THAT I PARTIALLY ATTRIBUTE TO THE DIM HEADLAMPS. I WAS DRIVING ON A LOCAL 2 LANE ROAD. THERE WAS A CAR COMING IN THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION ABOUT 50 YARDS AWAY. SUDDENLY A CAR BEHIND THAT CAR PULLED DIRECTLY INTO MY LANE. TO AVOID A COLLISION I IMMEDIATELY PULLED THE WHEEL RIGHT AND WENT INTO A YARD. I THOUGHT MAYBE THE PERSON HAD A HEART ATTACK AND LOST CONTROL OF THE CAR BUT WHEN I LOOKED BACK THE PERSON HAD SWERVED BACK INTO THE CORRECT LANE. I THOUGHT MAYBE MY LIGHTS WERE OFF BUT I CHECKED AND THEY WERE ON. I'VE BEEN DRIVING FOR 35 YEARS AND HAVE NEVER HAD SOMETHING LIKE THIS HAPPEN BEFORE. COULD HAVE BEEN SOMEBODY TEXTING AND DRIVING? I WOULD BE INTERESTED TO KNOW IF THE 2013 NISSAN ALTIMA HAS A HIGHER NIGHT TIME DRIVING ACCIDENT RATE COMPARED TO OTHER SEDANS. REGARDLESS I THINK THESE HEADLAMPS ARE UNSAFE. I'M GOING TO TRY TO FIND A REPLACEMENT HEADLAMP AND DO THE REPAIR MYSELF AS I CAN'T READILY AFFORD THE $1000. THIS IS THE FIRST TIME I HAVE EVER ENTERED A COMPLAINT. *TR
VEHICLE LOST POWER WITHOUT WARNING WHEN STOPPING AT TRAFFIC LIGHTS, INTERSECTIONS, STOP SIGNS OR WHENEVER THE BRAKE WAS USED TO COME TO A COMPLETE STOP. ENGINE COMPLETELY DIES BUT WILL START AGAIN BUT CANNOT BE USED TO PROPEL THE VEHICLE FORWARD OR IN REVERSE. A TRANSMISSION SPECIALIST (AAMCO) DIAGNOSED THE PROBLEM AND STATED THAT IT WAS THE TRANSMISSION.
I RECEIVED A SERVICE RECALL NOTICE IN THE MAIL FROM NISSAN TOWARD THE END OF 2019 REGARDING THE REAR LOWER LINK ON OUR 2013 ALTIMA. I SCHEDULED AN APPOINTMENT AND TOOK THE CAR IN FOR REPAIR AT THE LOCAL DEALERSHIP. I RECEIVED A CALL FROM THE SERVICE TECHNICIAN ALERTING ME THAT IN ORDER TO GAIN ACCESS TO THE REAR LOWER LINK AND PERFORM THE REPAIR, THEY WOULD HAVE TO FIRST REMOVE BOLTS, NUTS, AND OTHER PARTS, WHICH COULD INADVERTENTLY BECOME DAMAGED. THE TECHNICIAN WENT ON TO SAY THESE PARTS WERE NOT COVERED AND THAT I WAS RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL ASSOCIATED COSTS. I ALSO LEARNED THE FRAME AND SUSPENSION HAD EXCESSIVE CORROSION, WHICH WAS SUPRISING. WE BOUGHT THE CAR FROM A PREVIOUS OWNER IN DELAWARE, AND IT WAS ONLY IN THE NORTHERN CLIMATE FOR LESS THAN 2 YEARS, AND DOWN IN FLORIDA SINCE. I CONTACTED THE ESCALATION HOTLINE AT NISSAN AND REQUESTED ASSISTANCE TO COVER THESE COSTS. MY REQUEST WAS DENIED. MY BELIEF IS THAT NISSAN PRODUCED THE 2013 ALTIMA WITH INFERIOR PARTS AND COMPONENTS, AND SHOULD BE ON THE HOOK FOR ALL COSTS IN ORDER TO COMPLETE THIS SERVICE RECALL. FAILURE TO COMPLETE THIS REPAIR COULD JEAPARDISE OUR ABILITY TO CONTROL THE VEHICLE AND OVERALL SAFETY. CAN YOU PLEASE ASSIST?

HEAD LIGHT LOW BEAMS ARE DANGEROUSLY DIM. CAN'T SEE BEYOND 100 FEET. I MUST DRIVE WITH HIGH BEAMS ON OR CAN'T SEE. LIKE HAVING A SMALL FLASHLIGHT FOR HEAD LIGHTS. VERY DANGEROUS EASILY CAN SEE AN ACCIDENT (CRASH) COMING SOON ESPECIALLY IN RAIN AT NIGHT. THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THE 2013 ALTIMA. NISSAN HAS NOT RECALLED YET FORD DID IN 2012 FOR THE SAME PROBLEM. SOMONE IS GOING TO DIE. DELALER QUOTED $1200 TO REPLACE ENTIRE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY. THIS DEFINITELY MUST BE RECALLED.
THE SUPPLEMENTAL AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT CAME ON AND WILL NOT TURN OFF. THE LIGHT HAS BEEN CLEARED BY A MECHANIC, HOWEVER, IT CAME BACK ON AND STAYS ON.
MY 2013 NISSAN ALTIMA IS INOPERABLE DUE TO A BROKEN CORRODED REAR WHEEL SUSPENSION LINK. THE LOWER ARM BROKE WHILE I WAS DRIVING THE VEHICLE. I IMMEDIATELY NOTICED THAT THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE STARTED TO SLIDE ALMOST LIKE I WAS DRIVING IN ICEY CONDITIONS, HOWEVER THE ROADS WERE CLEAR. THE ANTI SKID SENSOR ALSO LIT UP ON THE VEHICLE CONTROL PANEL. ONCE I PULLED OVER AND LOOKED UNDER THE VEHICLE, I COULD SEE THE REAR WHEEL ARM WAS BROKEN, CAUSING THE TIRE TO LEAN HEAVILY TO THE SIDE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A REPAIR SHOP IN WHICH I WAS INFORMED ABOUT THE RECALL P9324. I WAS TOLD TO CONTACT A LOCAL NISSAN REPAIR SHOP TO GET THE REPAIRS FIXED UNDER THE RECALL. I FOLLOWED THE RECOMMENDATION AND CONTACTED THE LOCAL NISSAN REPAIR SHOP. AFTER TALKING WITH A TECHNICIAN, HE CONFIRMED THEIR WAD A RECALL AND I MADE ARRANGEMENTS FOR THE VEHICLE TO BE TOWED THERE. SINCE THEN I WAS TOLD BY THE SAME SHOP THAT MY VEHICLE IS NOT A VEHICLE THAT FALLS UNDER THE RECALL. I RESEARCHED THE RECALL AND FOUND THAT NISSAN IS CAMPAIGNING TO ALERT 2013 NISSAN ALTIMA OWNERS LOCATED IN COLD WEATHER STATES OF THE MALFUNCTIONING PART DO TO CORROSION FROM SALT USED IN SNOW REMOVAL. I LIVE IN MINNESOTA AND PURCHASED THE VEHICLE IN MINNESOTA. THE EXACT PART THE NISSAN IS CAMPAIGNING TO BE REPLACED HAS BROKEN DUE TO CORROSION, HOWEVER, NISSAN REFUSES TO COVER THE REPAIR COSTS AND CLAIMS MY VEHICLE DOESN'T FALL UNDER THE RECALL. I DO BELIEVE THIS BROKEN PART CAUSES A SAFETY RISK AS IT OCCURED WHILE I WAS DRIVING ON A CITY STREET. THE DAMAGE AFFECTED MY ABILITY TO CONTROL THE VEHICLE AS THE REAR END WAS SWERVING DUE TO THE TIRE BECOMING DETACHED FROM ITS ORIGINAL POSITION.

THE CONTACT STATED SHE WAS TRANSPORTED BY THE AMBULANCE TO THE HOSPITAL FOR BACK AND NECK INJURIES. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A TOW LOT WHERE IT WAS DEEMED A TOTAL LOST. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED BY A DEALER OR INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. HOWEVER, OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE VEHICLES LOW BEAM LIGHTS ARE DANGEROUSLY DEM AND HARD TO SEE WITH THEM ON. THEY HAVE GOTTEN WORSE OVER TIME AND PUTTING IN NEW EXPENSIVE HEADLIGHT HAVE NOT HELPED. THE TRANSMISSION STILL SOMETIMES IN A HIGHER RMP. I HAVE TO TAP ON THE BRAKE TO GET IT UNSTUCK IN THAT RPM.
THE FOLLOWING HAS BEEN AN ON-GOING SITUATION. I HAVE TO USE THE HIGH BEAM HEADLIGHTS AT NIGHT BECAUSE THE LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS DO NOT PROVIDE SUFFICIENT ILLUMINATION OF THE ROAD TO DRIVE SAFELY. I KNOW THAT DRIVING USING HIGH BEAMS WITH ON-COMING TRAFFIC IS NOT A SOLUTION, BUT NEITHER IS DRIVING WITHOUT PROPER ILLUMINATION OF HIGHWAY IN FRONT OF YOU. I HAVE RESEARCHED THE PROBLEM AND FOUND MANY OTHER NISSAN ALTIMA OWNERS REPORTING THE SAME PROBLEM WITH NO APPARENT SOLUTION DESPITE REPLACING THE HEADLIGHT BULBS, CHANGING TO HID OR LED BULBS, ETC.
