TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 NISSAN ALTIMA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS THE GEAR SHIFTER SEIZED WHILE IN THE PARK POSITION. THE DRIVER WAS UNABLE TO IMMEDIATELY SHIFT OUT OF THE PARK POSITION TO THE DRIVE POSITION. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DETERMINED. THE LOCAL DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT YET NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 180,000.
The contact owns a 2013 Nissan Altima. The contact stated that while driving approximately 35 MPH, the hood inadvertently opened. The contact lost control of the vehicle but was able to pull over, close the hood, and continued driving. There were no warning lights illuminated. Additionally, while driving, the headlights failed to produce adequate lighting. The contact used the high beam headlights while driving. The contact stated that it was difficult to see people and objects on the roadway. The local dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact stated the failure was related to NHTSA Campaign Number: 20V315000 (Latches/Locks/Linkages). The manufacturer was contacted but no additional assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 100,000.
DRIVING OUR VEHICLE PER USUAL, NO CRASHES, SAFELY MADE IT FROM POINT A TO B. THE NEXT MORNING, THE SENSOR FOR AIR BAGS COMES ON. IT CONTINUES TO STAY THERE WITH NO EXPLANATION FROM GOOGLE OTHER THAN THE SENSOR BEING AN ISSUE.
WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD, APPROXIMATELY 3 MILES INTO MY DRIVE, I STOPPED AT A STOP LIGHT. WHEN I TRIED TO ACCELERATE, MY CAR WOULD NOT MOVE. AFTER 2-3 SECONDS IT DECIDED TO ACCELERATE. ABOUT ANOTHER HALF MILE DOWN THE ROAD AT THE NEXT STOP LIGHT, IT DID IT AGAIN. EACH TIME, I WAS ALMOST REAR ENDED BY CARS BEHIND ME TRYING TO GET TO THE INTERSTATE. THE CAR IS NOW AT THE DEALERSHIP BEING LOOKED AT.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 25 MPH, A POPPING SOUND WAS PRESENT COMING FROM THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE, AND THE VEHICLE WAS NOT STABLE WHILE DRIVING. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE REAR PASSENGER'S SIDE CONTROL ARM HAD FRACTURED DUE TO RUSTING AND CORROSION. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT YET REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER AND LOCAL DEALER NISSAN 112, LOCATED AT 730 MEDFORD AVE, PATCHOGUE, NY 11772, WERE NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 115,000.
A CLUNKY NOISE STARTED/NOTICED IN RIGHT REAR WHEN DRIVEN OVER BUMPS (E.G. POT HOLES, DIPS IN ROADS, OR ENTRY PARKING LOT CURBS). TOOK OUR 2013 NISSAN ALTIMA INTO AUTO SHOP TO HAVE INSPECTED, WHICH WE HAD LEARNED THE REAR LOWER LINKS ARE RUSTED, AND THE RIGHT SIDE IS CRACKED. WE WERE TOLD IT IS STRONGLY RECOMMENDED TO NOT BE DRIVING THE VEHICLE FOR SAFETY CONCERNS. WE WERE THEN INFORMED THERE IS A RECALL FOR THIS EXACT ISSUE ON OUR VEHICLE FOR THE SAME YEAR, MAKE AND MODEL. THIS WAS QUITE ALARMING TO LEARN OF THIS RECALL, AND TO KNOW IT IS NOT SAFE TO BE DRIVING THE VEHICLE. WE IMMEDIATELY TOOK OUR VEHICLE TO GANDRUD NISSAN, GREEN BAY WI ONLY TO LEARN THIS SPECIFIC RECALL CAMPAIGN FOR 2013 ALTIMA SEDAN; REAR LOWER LINK (REFERENCE # NTB19-082B, DATE OF ISSUE: DECEMBER 6, 2019, CLASSIFICATION# RA19-002B, CAMPAIGN ID# P9324) DID NOT APPLY TO OUR VIN#. TO LEARN THERE IS A RECALL FOR THE EXACT PROBLEM ON THE EXACT YEAR AND MODEL OF OUR NISSAN ALTIMA WHERE OUR SAFETY IS COMPRISED IF DRIVEN, THEN TO BE TOLD IT DOESN'T APPLY IS VERY ASININE. THIS IS A KNOWN SAFETY DEFECT ON 2013 NISSAN ALTIMAS AND IT SHOULD NOT APPLY ONLY TO A SELECT FEW AS OBVIOUSLY IT IS A PROBLEM AND A VALID SAFETY/DEFECT HERE AND SHOULD BE ADDRESSED ACROSS THE BOARD FOR NOT ONLY MY FAMILY'S SAFETY FOR ALL WHOM OWN A 2013 NISSAN ALTIMA AND OTHERS TRAVELING ON THE ROAD/INTERSTATES.
LOW BEAMS TOO LOW WITH NEW BULBS. DEALER SAYS I NEED NEW HOUSING
NOTICED THAT THE AIRBAG INDICATOR LIGHT HAS BEEN STAYING ON NO MATTER IF SOMEONE IS IN THE PASSENGER SEAT OR NOT. GOING TO HAVE IT CHECKED OUT BY THE DEALERSHIP WHO MAY CHARGE ME TO RUN A DIAGNOSTIC TEST.
Known issue of cvt transmission needs replaced... original owners did not receive notification and was denied warranty when presented the issue
PART ERODED AND CAUSED WHEEL TO FALL OFF WHILE DRIVING IN MOTION
PARTS OF THE SUSPENSION CORRODED AND WHEEL CAME OFF WHILE MY PREGNANT DAUGHTER WAS DRIVING
MY REARWARD CONTROL ARM BROKE ON A BUSY STREET WHILE I WAS DRIVING TO WORK. I WAS UNABLE TO CONTROL THE VEHICLE STEERING AT 30MPH AFTERWARDS. I WAS LUCKY THAT A MECHANIC SHOP WAS AT THE VERY NEXT CORNER. THE MECHANIC LOOKED UNDERNEATH THE CAR AND SAID "UNBELIEVABLE, YOU'RE LUCKY TO BE.... WE'RE GLAD YOU WASN'T ON THE HIGHWAY!) THEN HE JUST SHOOK HIS HEAD, IN DISBELIEF AT THE RUST, BECAUSE THE CONTROL ARM AND THE LINKAGE WAS HELD TOGETHER BY RUST. HE FURTHER ADDED THIS CAR 7 YEARS YOUNG WITH 72,000 MILES, THAT SHOULDN'T HAVE HAPPENED. LASTLY, THAT WAS A VERY SCARY SITUATION, NOT HAVING CONTROL OF YOUR VEHICLE WHEN YOU ARE FACED WITH SEMI TRUCKS IN FRONT AND BEHIND YOU AND YOU'RE NOT ABLE TO PULLOVER YOUR VEHICLE TO SAFETY. IT WAS A BAD EXPERIENCE, THAT HOPEFULLY, NO ONE ELSE HAVE TO ENCOUNTER.
WHEN TURN SIGNAL IS AUTOMATICALLY CANCELLED AS THE STEERING WHEEL IS STRAIGHTENED, SOMETIMES (NOT ALWAYS) IT ACTUATES THE 'LANE CHANGE' THREE-FLASH SIGNAL IN THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION. FOR EXAMPLE, AFTER MAKING A LEFT TURN, THE SIGNAL CANCELS AND SIGNALS THREE FLASHES IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION. THIS HAPPENS WHEN TURNING IN EITHER DIRECTION. IT HAS HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES BUT DOES NOT HAPPEN AT EVERY TURN. I FEEL IT MAY BE A MALFUNCTION OF THE TURN SIGNAL ARM.
THE CAR STARTS JERKING WHEN GETTING UP TO SPEED IF YOU ACCELERATE SLOWLY.
THE LOWER CONTROL ARM CORRODED FROM ROAD SALT. THE CONTROL ARMED SNAPPED FROM THE BUSHING WHILE I WAS DRIVING!!. THE CONTROL ARM COMPLETELY SNAPPED FROM THE BUSHING. THERE IS A SERVICE CAMPAIGN FOR THIS, BUT NISSAN CLAIMS MY VIN DOES NOT FALL UNTO THIS KNOWN PROBLEM. MY VEHICLE IS IN NH, AND HAS BEEN IN THIS STATE THAT USES ROAD SALT SINCE DAY ONE. I HAVE NO IDEA WHY MY VEHICLE DOES IS NOT COVERED UNDER THE SERVICE CAMPAIGN. I AM IN ONE OF THE 22 STATES THAT IS DESIGNATED AS A SALT STATE AND IS MENTIONED IN THE SERVICE CAMPAIGN BULLETIN. THIS IS A REAL SAFETY CONCERN. I WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 40 MPH WHEN THE CONTROL ARM SNAPPED. MY VEHICLE SPUN 180 DEGREES. IF THIS HAPPENED ON THE HIGHWAY AT A HIGHER RATE OF SPEED, THINGS WOULD HAVE BEEN WORSE.

THE CAR HAS A SHUTTER, JERKING, HIGH RPM, LOSS OF POWER, DRIVING THE CAR DOWN THE ROAD AND IT ALL OF A SUDDEN BLASTED UP TO ALMOST 7000 RPMS AND VIOLENTLY JERKING AND SHUTTERING WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY AT 75- 80 MILES PER HOUR ALMOST CAUSING ME TO CRASH THE CAR, IT THEN LOST POWER WITH ME PRESSING MY GAS PEDAL ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR, IT'S A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE AND NISSAN NEEDS TO FIX THIS BEFORE PEOPLE GET SERIOUSLY HURT OR EVEN DIE.
AIRBAG LIGHT CAME ON ON THE DASHBOARD AND IS STAYING ON. WHEN AN ADULT PASSENGARE SITS IN THE PASSENGER SEAT, THE PASSENGER AIRBAG LIGHT DOES NOT TURN OFF. THIS HAPPENED ABOUT A MONTH AGO. I HAVE READ SEVERAL RECALLS FOR AIRBAG SENSOR ISSUE BUT MY CAR IS NOT LISTED. DEALERSHIP IS TELLS ME THAT THERE IS NO RECALL FOR THE ISSUE AND THAT I HAVE TO PAY TO HAVE IT DIAGNOSED AND FIXED. CAR CURRENTLY CANNOT PASS STATED INSPECTION DUE TO THIS.
DRIVING ON HIGHWAY, ABSOLUTELY NO WARNING AT ALL, HOOD FLIES OPEN SUDDENLY SLAMMING INTO WINDSHIELD WHILE DRIVING!!! AFTER SCREAMING OF COURSE, TRIED TO KEEP VEHICLE STRAIGHT, SLOWED, PULLED OVER TO RIGHT TO SAFETY. UNBELIEVABLY NO OTHER VEHICLES HIT/INVOLVED, NO CRASH - MY VEHICLE HAS DAMAGE TO HOOD, ROOF, BOTH FRONT FENDERS, INTERIOR OVERHEAD CONTROLS DROPPED OUT OF THE CEILING. NISSAN NOT YET COMMITTING TO PAYING FOR IT 100% !!!!!! EVEN THOUGH A RECALL ON THIS ITEM WAS ISSUED 1 MONTH AGO, AND I FOUND ARTICLES ON THIS PROBLEM WITH THE CAR GOING BACK TO 2014 - AND NISSAN DEALERSHIP JUST HAD MY CAR 4 MONTHS AGO (MARCH) WORKING ON ANOTHER DIFFERENT RECALL !!!!
ON ONE DAY I WAS DRIVING MY VEHICLE DOWN THE STREET HEADING TOWARDS THE FREEWAY. I WAS GOING TO TAKE THE STREETS BUT THE FREEWAY IS ALWAYS THE FASTEST OPTION. I GOT ON THE FREEWAY WITH NO PROBLEM AND STARTED TO INCREASE SPEED. AS I SPED UP, I STARTED TO FEEL MY CAR SHUTTER. I CONTINUED WITH MY DRIVE AND THOUGHT NOTHING OF IT. IM HEADING TOWARDS MY EXIT AND I START TO STOP MY CAR, AND ALL OF A SUDDEN MY CAR COMES TO A COMPLETE TURN OFF WHILE EXITING THE FREEWAY. I ALMOST HIT TWO CARS AND ALMOST GOT REAR ENDED. AT FIRST I DIDN'T KNOW WHAT TO DO BECAUSE I WAS IN FEAR OF MY SAFETY. I LOOKED DOWN AT THE DASHBOARD OF MY CAR TO SEE WHAT IT COULD POSSIBLY BE AND NO WARNING LIGHTS OR CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS DISPLAYED. I WAS STILL IN SHOCK BECAUSE I COULD HAVE BEEN INVOLVED IN A MAJOR ACCIDENT OR EVEN DEAD. I PUT THE CAR IN PARK AND THEN TURNED THE CAR OFF. I TURNED THE CAR BACK ON AND IT STARTED PERFECTLY NORMAL LIKE NOTHING HAD HAPPENED. WITH A LOT OF TRAFFIC AND ABOUT 3 CARS HONKING AT ME, I THEN PUT THE CAR IN DRIVE AGAIN AND SHORTLY DOWN THE STREET A COUPLE BLOCKS AWAY THE CAR DOES IT AGAIN TO ME, THIS TIME ALMOST CAUSING ANOTHER ACCIDENT. I WAS SO TERRIFIED I HAD MY CAR TOWED TO A MECHANIC WHERE HE SAID THIS PROBLEM IS COMMON WITH NISSAN ALTIMA TRANSMISSIONS PARTICULARLY THE 2013 MODELS. I REACHED OUT TO THE CORPORATE OFFICE AND I WAS ADVISED THAT I HAVE NO WARRANTY OR COVERAGE TO FIX THIS PROBLEM. THIS IS VERY SERIOUS AND SAD BECAUSE THE MAKERS OF THIS VEHICLE COULD HAVE TAKEN MY LIFE. I PUT MY TRUST AND MONEY INTO A VEHICLE TO FIND OUT IT HAS PROBLEMS THAT NISSAN ARE WELL AWARE OF AND WILL NOT BOTHER FIXING. THE CAR ONLY HAS AROUND 80,000 AND I'M STILL PAYING IT OFF. IM JUST STILL IN SHOCK BECAUSE I COULD HAVE BEEN SERIOUSLY HURT.
I OWN A 2013 NISSAN ALTIMA PURCHASED FROM MY FRIEND WHO ORIGINALLY PURCHASED IT FROM A NISSAN DEALERSHIP. THE CAR'S SHOWN TRANSMISSION ISSUES 12TH JULY 2020 WHEN I WAS ABOUT TO STOP FOR A SIGNAL. THE CAR WAS SHUDDERING BEFORE COMING TO A FULL STOP. INITIALLY I THOUGHT IT WAS A BRAKE ISSUE, NAIVELY THINKING GIVEN THAT I EXPERIENCED IT WHEN COMING TO A STOP. BUT WHEN I PRESSED GAS AFTER SIGNAL TURNED GREEN, THE CAR DID NOT ACCELERATE AS IT WOULD DO NORMALLY. I RODE THE VEHICLE FOR ANOTHER 5 MILES THE NEXT DAY AND THE PROBLEM CONTINUED TO GET WORSENED. UPON RESEARCHING AND FINDING THAT IT IS A TRANSMISSION ISSUE, I SCHEDULED AN APPOINTMENT WITH NISSAN DEALERSHIP FOR JULY 15TH MORNING. THE CAR DID NOT GO IN REVERSE AT THE BEGINNING AND I HAD TO CHANGE THE PARKING GEAR BEFORE I TRIED TO REVERSE AGAIN. THIS TIME IT SLOWLY MOVED. WHEN MOVING FORWARD IN ROADS, THE CAR WAS NOT ABLE TO GO BEYOND 20 MPH AND THE RPM WOULD GO UP AND DOWN WHEN PRESSING GAS. I BARELY MANAGED TO REACH THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY ASSESSED THE VEHICLE TO HAVE TRANSMISSION ISSUES. THEY TOLD THAT THE TRANSMISSION NEEDS TO BE REPLACED.
THE LOW BEAM LIGHTS ARE ON BUT BASICALLY NON EXISTENT. A FEW TIMES I'VE EVEN PULLED OVER TO CHECK IF THEY BOTH WERE OFF/BURNED OUT... THEY WEREN'T. I HAVE REPLACED BULBS WITH NO CHANGE TO THE BRIGHTNESS I DO OR DO NOT GET. ONLY OPTION CURRENTLY IS TO DRIVE IN THE DARK WITH HIGH BEAMS, POTENTIALLY BLINDING ON COMING TRAFFIC THEN!!! THIS ISSUE IS THE SAME WHETHER DRIVING OR STATIONARY AND HAS BEEN ONGOING WITH NO REMEDY FOUND YET.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH, THE REAR PASSENGER SIDE SUSPENSION ARM FRACTURED CAUSING THE DRIVER TO LOSE CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DETERMINED THE REAR SUSPENSION ARM FAILED DUE TO RUSTING AND CORROSION. THE PASSENGER'S SIDE REAR ARM WAS REPLACED AND THE FAILURE WAS REMEDIED. THE CONTACT INDICATED THAT THE DRIVER SIDE REAR ARM WAS ALSO CORRODED AND RUSTED BUT NOT REPLACED. COUNTRY NISSAN (40 RUSSELL STREET, HADLEY, MA 01035) AND THE MANUFACTURER WERE NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 106,000.
THE AIR BAG LIGHT ACTIVATED AND THE ENGINE RPM DROPPED WHILE DRIVING. THE ENGINE ACCELERATOR LOST POWER, THEN PICKED UP SPEED AFTER PUSHING ON THE ACCELERATOR.
SUGGESTED THAT I REPLACE CONTROL ARMS ON MY 2013 NISSAN ALTIMA AT 79,000 MILES. I SAW THERE WAS A "SERVICE ALERT" NOT RECALL BY NISSAN TO REPLACE THESE IN "SALT STATES". I LIVE IN FLORIDA NEAR THE WATER, AND THERE IS WATER IN THE AIR HERE. ARMS ARE CRACKING, CORRODING. WOULD LIKE NISSAN TO PAY FOR THE REPLACEMENT. MAAS BROS. NISSAN IN NEW PORT RICHEY FL SUGGESTED THE REPAIR...OVER $1000.
CAR STALLING AT IDLE OR STOPPING. CAR STARTS THEN CUTS OUT, WON'T RUN. CAR HAS BEEN IN SHOP FOR 3 DAYS NOW PROBLEM IS INTERMITTENT AND CAN'T SEEM TO PIN POINT EVEN WITH FIXD OR OTHER DEVICES.
WHILE DRIVING ON STREET, THE GAS PEDAL WILL NO LONGER PROVIDE POWER TO THE CAR AND BEGIN TO SLOW ITSELF DOWN. I WILL PUSH ON THE BREAKS BRIEFLY AND TRY THE GAS PEDAL TO SEE IF IT WORKS AND IT WILL TAKE A FEW TIMES BEFORE IT DOES. WHILE ON THE FREEWAY THE VEHICLE AGAIN, GAS PEDAL WOULD NO LONGER PROVIDE POWER TO THE CAR AND BEGIN TO SLOW ITSELF DOWN. THIS HAS NOW HAPPENED 8 SEPARATE TIMES TO THE CAR. IT WILL WORK FOR A FEW DAYS AND THEN DO IT AGAIN, WITH OUT NOTICE. NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT GOES ON. SECOND ISSUE IS, THE STEERING WHEEL WILL ALSO FEEL EXTREMELY LOOSE, NOT DURING THE SAME TIME BUT WHEN MY SPEED IS OVER 70 MPH. ALSO, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT NOR ANY SAFETY NOTICES WILL GO ON. LASTLY, THE AIR BAG LIGHT WON'T COME OFF. THE GAS PETAL ISSUE HAPPENED AGAIN ON JULY 3TH, 2020 AND I DECIDED TO TAKE IT TO GET LOOKED AT. THE DEALER FOR A 5 POINT INSPECTION AND THEY FOUND NOTHING WRONG. I CHECK THE NHTSA WEBSITE AND IT SHOWS NO RECALLS DONE. DOES THIS MEAN THEY HAVE NOT BEEN COMPLETED? *TR
VEHICLE STOPPED AUTOMATICALLY (BY ITSELF) WHILE IN MOTION. LUCKY THAT IT WAS IN A PARKING LOT OTHERWISE THIS COULD HAVE BEEN A FATAL ACCIDENT. WHEN TAKEN TO THE DEALER, THEY MENTIONED ITS AN ISSUE WITH THE TRANSMISSION AND WILL NEED TO BE CHANGED. LOOKING IT UP ON GOOGLE MADE ME UNDERSTAND THAT ITS A COMMON ISSUE WITH NISSAN ALTIMA AND NISSAN HAS NOT TAKEN ANY STEPS OR OFFERED ANY HELP TO ITS CUSTOMERS TO SUPPORT FIXING THE ISSUES. ITS A DISASTER WAITING TO HAPPEN, KINDLY TAKE SOME ACTIONS!

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. NEITHER THE DEALER NOR THE MANUFACTURER WERE MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.
THE LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS ON MY 2013 NISSAN ALTIMA ARE EXTREMELY DIM! IT IS NEARLY IMPOSSIBLE TO DRIVE AT NIGHT WITHOUT MY BRIGHTS ON. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFTEY HAZARD FOR ME AND OTHER DRIVERS AS WELL! MY EYESIGHT VISION IS CONSIDERED TO BE BETTER THAN AVERAGE AND EVEN WITH THAT I CAN'T DRIVE AT NIGHT UNLESS I HAVE MY BRIGHTS ON. I HAVE TRIED LED AND HID BULBS WITH NO IMPROVEMENT. PLEASE HELP FIX THIS PROBLEM!
Headlight assemblies have developed film on inside surfaces, causing the headlights on low beam to be extremely dim, significantly reducing normal night vision to a dangerously low level. Low beam light output is less than that of the fog lights!! Only driving with high beams resolves the issue. Will not drive the vehicle at night! Have discussed with dealership and was told it is a KNOWN problem on 2013-2016 Altima and Maxima vehicles. That was within the past six months. Was told that only resolution would be to replace the headlight assemblies at an estimated cost of at least $450/headlight. Recently spoke to Dealership manager regarding the issue. Available for inspection. Not inspected by manufacturer / police / insurance reps. No warning lamps, messages, etc. First appeared within the past year. Case number 44352662 issued today @ ~ 12 noon. Awaiting response back from Nissan Customer Affairs supervisor, but not expecting call back until tomorrow.
WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE ON OPEN HIGHWAYS THE VEHICLE WILL EXPERIENCE A LOSS OF POWER AND ENGINE SHUTS OFF RESULTING IN LOSS OF STEERING AND BREAKING. VEHICLE WILL ALSO EXPERIENCE THE SAME ISSUES WHILE DRIVING IN THE CITY STREETS. WHEN COMING TO A STOP THE VEHICLE WILL LOSE POWER AND BREAKS WILL NOT WORK. THIS HAS BEEN OCCURRING SINCE NOVEMBER 2019
WHILE DRIVING ON A HIGHWAY, MY NISSAN ALTIMA STARTING MAKING NOISE FROM THE REAR AND THE CAR FEEL GOING TO THE LEFT BY ITSELF. AFTER I STOPPED I FOUND THE REAR CONTROL ARM WHICH HOLDS THE SPRING PART BROKE APART. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS.
ON FRIDAY 6/26/2020 WHILE DRIVING ON THE MA TURNPIKE I-90 W, SHORTLY BEFORE EXIT 20, THE HOOD OF MY 2013 NISSAN ALTIMA FLEW ALL THE WAY BACK CRASHING INTO THE WINDSHIELD AND FRONT PORTION OF THE ROOF. LUCKILY I WAS ABLE TO SLOW DOWN AND PEEK UNDER THE BOTTOM PORTION OF THE HOOD TO PULL OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY. MY WINDSHIELD WAS CRACKED, BOTH SIDE FENDERS WERE BENT UP/ SLIGHTLY DISPLACED, THE ROOF WAS DENTED, INSIDE THE CAR THE CEILING SPEAKER/ SUNGLASS CONSOLE CAME CRASHING DOWN AND MY HOOD WAS DENTED AND HAVING TROUBLE STAYING SHUT. I MANAGED TO SECURE IT DOWN AND DROVE SLOWLY TO EXIT 20. I IMMEDIATELY STOPPED AT AN AUTO SHOP NEAR BY AND THE OWNERS FIRST WORDS WERE, "LOOKING AT YOUR CAR, I CAN TELL YOU THIS IS EXACTLY HOW PEOPLE GET KILLED IN MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENTS". I AM NOT SURPRISED. HAD I NOT BEEN ABLE TO SEE OR SAFELY SLOW DOWN, I MAY BE DEAD. THE SHOP OWNER SHOWED HOW THE SPRAINED HINGES ALLOW THE HOOD TO GO ALL THE WAY BACK CAUSING WINDSHIELD DAMAGE MAINLY DUE TO THE SECONDARY HOOD LATCH NOT FUNCTIONING PROPERLY. HE DID SPRAY SOME WD 40 ON THE LATCH TO GET IT TO FUNCTION A LITTLE BETTER; HE STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT SAFE AND WOULD NOT RECOMMEND DRIVING IT. THE DAMAGE WAS ESTIMATED AT $4000.
NISSAN ALTIMA 2013 LEFT REAR LOWER SUSPENSION CONTROL ARM BROKE OFF WHILE DRIVING STRAIGHT ON THE HIGHWAY. THE CAR SWERVED VIOLENTLY TO THE RIGHT. IT COULD OF ENDED HORRIBLY BUT LUCKILY NO ONE WAS HURT. THIS IS TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE AND ABSOLUTELY NOT SAFE. NISSAN NEEDS TO LOOK INTO THIS!! *TR
WHEN I DRIVING 75 MPH ON THE FREEWAY, SUDDENLY MY 2013 ALTIMA TRANSMISSION GEARBOX SLIPPING TO NEUTRAL. I HAD TO TOW THE CAR TO NISSAN DEALERSHIP FOR REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION FOR $3700.00. *TR
BOTH REAR CONTROL ARMS HAVE CRACKED AND NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE FIRST WAS AT ABOUT 125,000 MILES AND THE SECOND WAS 137,000 MILES. MANY PEOPLE HAVE TOLD ME THIS IS AN ISSUE WITH 2012-13 NISSAN ALTIMA'S AND SOME HAVE HAD NISSAN REIMBURSE THEM FOR THE COST OF THE REPAIR, WHICH IS QUITE EXPENSIVE. *TR
(1) THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG LIGHT IS FAULTY. IT IS ALWAYS LIT AS 'OFF' EVEN WHEN THERE IS A PASSENGER ON THE SEAT. (2) CAR JERKS WHEN CHANGING GEARS. I WAS REVERSING INTO A PARKING SPACE. WHEN I TRIED CHANGING GEARS FROM REVERSE TO DRIVE, THERE WAS A DELAY AND THEN THE CAR JERKED. AS I TRIED TO SLOWLY ACCELERATE, THE CAR WOULD NOT ADVANCE AS IT NORMALLY SHOULD. I THEN PARKED AND THE CAR BEGAN TO ACCELERATE/ REV WHILE IN PARK. MY CAR IS UP TO DATE ON EVERYTHING. I'M AFRAID THIS COULD HAPPEN ON A BUSY STREET OR HIGHWAY. PLEASE HELP. *TR
WITHOUT WARNING MY CAR STOPPED ACCELERATING. IT DIED AT IN INTERSECTION AND HAD TO HAVE IT TOWED TO A DEALERSHIP. THE PROBLEM STARTED ON THE HIGHWAY AND THE CAR DIED AT A BUSY INTERSECTION. CAR HAS 123000 MILES WITH NEVER AN ISSUE WITH CVT.. DEALER TOLD US IT WILL COST 4,000 DOLLARS TO FIX. TRANSMISSION SHOULDN'T FAIL AT 123 000 MILES. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 NISSAN ALTIMA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE JERKED AND LOSS MOTIVE POWER WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT PULLED OVER TO THE SHOULDER OF THE ROADWAY HOWEVER, THE VEHICLE HESITATED TO ACCELERATE FORWARD. THE VEHICLE FAILED TO RESUME BACK TO NORMAL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO MICHAEL JORDAN NISSAN (3930 DURHAM CHAPEL HILL BLVD, DURHAM, NC 27707, (919) 489-3800) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED AND IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE TRANSMISSION FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 155,000. *BF*JB
HEADLIGHTS TO CAR BECOME DIM BECAUSE REFLECTIVITY MATERIAL IN LIGHT HOUSING DETERIORATED AND NO LONGER HELPS PROJECT SUFFICIENT SOURCE OF LIGHT ONTO THE ROAD AHEAD. EVEN WITH BRAND NEW, AND APPROPRIATE REPLACEMENT LIGHTBULBS DO NOT PROVIDE ANY SUFFICIENT LIGHT. VERY DANGEROUS AND CANNOT SEE AT DARK AND ALMOST NOT DRIVABLE WITHOUT USING BRIGHTS OPTION. CAN GET STOPPED BY POLICE FOR ASSUMPTION THAT HEADLIGHTS ARE NOT APPROPRIATELY ON FOR THE SAFETY OF THE ROAD FOR THE DRIVER AND OTHER DRIVERS.
THE TRUNK LATCH BECAME UNDONE AND LIFTED WHILE I WAS ON THE HIGHWAY HEADED HOME. ALL OF MY ITEMS FELL OUT AND I HAD TO FIGURE OUT A WAY TO RELATCH.
Unable to engage automatic gear shift from park to drive or reverse. Must use small object, (screwdriver) with brake to place in drive.
LIGHTING ON THE 2013 NISSAN ALTIMA IS A SAFETY RISK AND POTENTIAL LIABILITY WAITING TO HAPPEN. THE VISIBILITY WITH THE STOCK LIGHTS WILL LIMIT YOUR VISIBILITY AND PUTS YOU AND PASSENGERS AT RISK. THIS HAS TO BE CORRECTED AND TAKEN SERIOUSLY BY NISSAN. THE LIGHT THAT IS ILLUMINATING HAS TO BE OUT OF CODE FOR A LEGAL ACCEPTABLE VEHICLE. *TR
REAR LINKS, THE DEALER TOLD ME THE SUSPENSION COULD BREAK AT ANY MOMENT. REPAIR COST ME $440.00 AND THEY REFUSE TO REIMBURSE ME STATING CUTTING OFF RUSTED COMPONENTS WAS NOT RELATED TO THE FIX. CAMPAIGN ID IS P9324
ALL 4 WHEEL BEARINGS FAILED. NOISE LEVEL INCREASED WITH TIME AND EVENTUALLY CHANGED WHEN I WAS CONCERNED WITH MY SAFETY. CONFIRMED BY MECHANIC, THAT ALL 4 BEARINGS WERE BAD. MECHANIC CHANGED BOTH FRONT BEARING FIRST BEFORE CHANGING BACK BEARING TO CONFIRM FAILURE ON BACK WHEEL BEARINGS AS WELL. CHANGED BEARINGS AT ABOUT 110,500 MILES. HAVE LOVED NISSAN BUT I'VE HAD TWO MAJOR SAFETY CONCERNS WITH TWO VEHICLES AS OF LATE

THE PASSENGER AIRBAG ISSUE FROM CAMPAIGN ID #R1609 IN 2014 AND AGAIN IN 2016. THE SAME ISSUE IS NOW HAPPENING AGAIN. THIS INCLUDES THE PASSENGER AIRBAG LIGHT SHOWING THE AIRBAG IS NOT ACTIVE WHEN AN ADULT IS SITTING IN THE SEAT. THE SEAT BELT LIGHT IS ALSO ON SHOWING THE PASSENGER IS NOT BUCKLED UP WHEN IN FACT THE SEAT BELT IS CONNECTED AND LATCHED. THIS HAPPENING WHEN THE VEHICLE IS BOTH MOVING AND NOT MOVING. NISSAN ISSUED A CONSUMER AFFAIRS CASE NUMBER, BUT IS REFUSING TO FIX THE ISSUE UNDER THE RECALL DUE TO IT BEING FIXED TWICE BEFORE.
HELLO ITS SEPTEMBER NOW AND NISSAN HASNT FIXED THE HOOD LATCH RECALL YET CAN'T USE CAR NOW SINCE JUNE BECAUSE OF RECALL THEY TOLD ME IT WONT TAKE LONG BUT ITS TAKING LONG NOW
