THIS IS THE FOURTH TIME THE PASSENGER AIR BAG SENSOR LIGHT CAME ON WITH AN ADULT IN THE SEAT. NISSAN HAS ATTEMPTED TO FIX IT NUMEROUS TIME WITHOUT SUCCESS. I QUESTION WHETHER THE BAG WILL GO OFF IN AN ACCIDENT. I WAS TOLD BY THE LOCAL DEALER THAT I SHOULD CALL CORPORATE AND RECORDED THE COMPLAINT. THEY SAID THEY WOULD GET BACK TO ME. *TR
UNABLE TO SHIFT THE GEAR SHIFT LEVER OUT OF THE PARK POSITION. AT FIRST I THOUGHT I MIGHT NOT HAVE PRESSED ON THE BRAKE. AFTER A FEW ATTEMPTS IT UNLOCKED AND I WAS ABLE TO PUT IT IN GEAR. I TOOK IT TO THE LOCAL NISSAN DEALERSHIP ON FRIDAY MARCH 27, 2015, AND WAS TOLD THE 'BRAKE SAFETY SWITCH' FAILED. THIS WAS REPLACED AT A COST OF $154. LEFT THE DEALERSHIP AND CAR WAS SHIFTING FINE. THE NEXT MORNING I DROVE A LOCAL DAY WENT TO LOCAL STORE AND PULLED INTO A PARKING SPOT, WHEN I CAME OUT AND WHEN TO LEAVE, I WAS NOT ABLE TO SHIFT THE GEAR SHIFT OUT OF THE PARK POSITION. CALLED THE NISSAN DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD TO HAVE IT TOWED IN. THE TOW TRUCK DRIVER REMOVED THE "SHIFT LOCK COVER BUTTON" AND USED A SCREWDRIVER TO OVERRIDE THE GEARSHIFT LEVER AND THEN PUT THE CAR INTO GEAR, AND ON THE TRUCK. THE SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE STATED THAT THE ENTIRE GEAR SHIFT MECHANISM HAD TO BE REPLACED. THEY HAVE NOT TOLD ME WHY IT FAILED. WHEN THE CAR HAD 59,000 MILES I TOOK THE CAR INTO THIS SAME DEALERSHIP. AT T AT THAT TIME, THEY REPLACED THE TRANSMISSION, STATING THAT THERE WAS A "CODE FAILURE". SINCE THE CAR IS NO LONGER UNDER THE MANUFACTURER'S WARRANTY, THE COST FOR REPAIR IS OVER $650. THEY HAVE NOT INDICATED WHAT CAUSED THE FAILURE, ONLY THAT IT HAS TO BE REPLACED . SEEMS FUNNY THAT THIS WOULD FAIL RIGHT AFTER THE TRANSMISSION WAS REPLACED. *TR
CAR PURCHASED 2/27/2015. HAVING A TIRE SENSOR AND TORQUE CONVERTER REPLACED IN LESS THEN TWO WEEKS OF PURCHASING THIS THING, NOW THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON WEEKS LATER. TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP. WAS TOLD THAT THEY RAN TESTS AND COULDN'T FIND ANYTHING. WAS TOLD THAT A PART MAYBE GOING BAD BUT THEY COULDN'T DO ANYTHING UNTIL IT WAS COMPLETELY BAD. THEY TURNED THE LIGHT OFF AND WAS TOLD THAT IF IT CAME BACK ON THEN TO BRING IT BACK. TWO DAYS LATER, THE LIGHT CAME BACK ON. I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD THAT THEY COULDN'T GET ME IN TO CHECK IT FOR 4 DAYS. MY HUSBAND WENT UP THERE TO TALK TO THE REPRESENTATIVE. HE TOLD THEM THAT WE WERE HEADING OUT OF TOWN OVER 600 MILES AWAY. HE WANTED TO KNOW IF IT WOULD BE OK AND DID WE PURCHASE A LEMON. WE WERE TOLD THAT THEY DON'T SELL LEMONS AND WE SHOULD BE FINE. THE ASSOCIATE TURNED THE LIGHT OFF. AFTER RETURNING FROM THE TRIP 3 DAYS LATER, 2 HOURS FROM HOME, THE LIGHT COMES BACK ON. TWO DAYS LATER IT WENT OFF. A WEEK AND A HALF THE LIGHT COMES BACK ON AND MY HUSBAND, BEING FEED UP, TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AGAIN AND WAS TOLD THAT THE SYSTEM NEEDED TO BE UPDATED FOR $160 AND THAT'S WHY THE LIGHT KEPT COMING ON. THE UPDATE WAS DONE ON 4/20/2015. TODAY, 4/22/2015, I WENT TO MY SON'S SPORTS BANQUET AND THE LIGHT IS BACK ON. MY HUSBAND AND I ARE TAKING IT BACK UP THERE ON THE 24TH. I AM BEGINNING TO BELIEVE SOMETHING IS GOING ON AND WE ARE NOT BEING TOLD ABOUT THIS VEHICLE. I HAVE CHECKED FOR RECALLS AND EVERYTHING BUT NOTHING HAS COME UP. I AM JUST ABOUT READY TO GET RID OF A 2013 CAR THAT I HAVEN'T EVEN HAD FOR A FULL 2 MONTHS. *TR
EVEN AFTER BEING REPAIRED FOR A RECALL, THE PASSENGER AIRBAG LIGHT CONTINUES TO BE ON INTERMITTENTLY. THE DEALER DID A SIMPLE INSPECTION AND CLAIMED NO PROBLEM FOUND. THEY REFUSED TO PERFORM DETAILED INVESTIGATION UNLESS I PAY FOR THE DIAGNOSIS, BECAUSE THE WARRANTY HAS EXPIRED. *TR
THIS HAS OCCURRED MULTIPLE TIMES SINCE THE RECALL WORK WAS DONE ON MY CAR. WHEN DRIVING THE PASSENGER AIR BAG OFF LIGHT WILL TURN ON, EVEN WHEN AN ADULT PASSENGER IS IN THE PASSENGER SEAT. I'VE TAKEN THE CAR INTO THE DEALERSHIP TO ADDRESS THIS ISSUE AND WAS TOLD THAT THE SYSTEM IS FUNCTIONING PROPERLY. THE ONLY WAY I'VE FOUND TO FIX THIS ISSUE IS TO PULL OVER, TURN THE CAR OFF AND TURN IT BACK ON. SOMETIMES IT TAKES MULTIPLE RESTARTS FOR RESOLVE THE ISSUE. *TR
WE HAVE HAD MULTIPLE INCIDENTS IN THIS VEHICLE OF THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT AIRBAG LIGHT NOT EXTINGUISHING, INDICATING THAT THE AIRBAG IS NOT ARMED, EVEN WITH AN ADULT PASSENGER SEATED AND BUCKLED. WE HAVE DEALT WITH THIS ISSUE ON AND OFF FOR AS LONG AS WE HAVE HAD THE CAR, DESPITE THE RECALL LAST YEAR APPARENTLY DESIGNED TO FIX THIS ISSUE. I DECIDED TO FILE A COMPLAINT TODAY BASED ON A NEWS ARTICLE I SAW THIS MORNING THAT INDICATES THAT THIS IS AN ONGOING ISSUE FOR MANY DRIVERS OF THIS VEHICLE. THERE DOES NOT SEEM TO BE A LOGICAL REASON WHY SOMETIMES THE LIGHT GOES OUT AND SOMETIMES IT STAYS ON. THE CONCERN IS THAT THE PASSENGER AIRBAG WOULD NOT DEPLOY PROPERLY IF IT IS EVER NEEDED. *TR
I'M HAVING AND ISSUES WITH THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG NOT ENGAGING WHEN I HAVE A PASSENGER IN THE FRONT SEAT, NOT REGISTERING THAT THERE IS SOMEONE SITTING IN THE SEAT.. ANOTHER ISSUES IS WATER SATURATING THE PASSENGER FLOOR BOARDS ALL THE WAY TO THE BACK SEAT WHEN IS RAINS OUTSIDE
THIS IS FOR THE CURRENT SAFETY RECALL ISSUE ON THIS MODEL. I HAD THE DEALER "FIX" THE INITIAL RECALL BUT HAVE HAD NUMEROUS INCIDENTS AFTERWARDS WITH THE AIRBAG. THIS INCLUDES THE AIRBAG LIGHT INTERMITTENTLY GOING ON/OFF WHILE MY WIFE IS IN THE PASSENGER SEAT. IN ADDITION I HAVE HAD THE SAME ISSUE WITH NOTHING IN THE SEAT. I HAVE VIDEO AND PHOTO EVIDENCE OF THIS OCCURRING AFTER THE CAR WAS SENT TO NISSAN FOR THE INITIAL "FIX". WHEN THIS OCCURS I AM FORCED TO PULL OVER AS SOON AS POSSIBLE TO RESTART THE CAR. I HAVE TOLD MY LOCAL NISSAN DEALER FACE TO FACE THAT I DO NOT FEEL SAFE DRIVING THEIR CAR WHICH IS LEASED FROM THEM AND THEY DID NOT TAKE MY CONCERN SERIOUSLY. I BELIEVE I SHOULD BE ALLOWED TO RETURN THE CAR AND TERMINATE MY LEASE SINCE I DON'T FEEL SAFE DRIVING MY FAMILY AND FRIENDS AROUND IN THIS FAMILY SEDAN. I HAVE TAKEN MY NISSAN ALTIMA 2013 TO PREMIER NISSAN DEALERSHIP IN FREMONT CA MULTIPLE TIMES FOR PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG INDICATOR, WILL REMAIN ON EVEN WHEN AN ADULT PASSENGER IS SITTING IN PASSENGER SEAT. NISSAN DEALERSHIP IN FREMONT CA HAS TRIED TO FIX THE PROBLEM MULTIPLE TIMES BUT PROBLEM STILL REMAINS SAME. ONLY THING THAT CHANGED WAS ME, THAT I STOPPED COMPLAINING ABOUT IT TO DEALERSHIP. VEHICLE WAS SERVICED BY NISSAN DEALERSHIP PER NHTSA CAMPAIGN #14V138000 ON 3/11/15. ON 3/12/15, THE OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION SYSTEM CONTINUED TO OPERATE IMPROPERLY (E.G. NOT DETECTING AN OCCUPANT IN THE PASSENGER SEAT). THIS HAS BEEN NOTED SEVERAL TIMES SINCE THE OCS SOFTWARE WAS UPDATED BY THE OEM. *TR
TIE ROD LOSE WITH SO FEW MILES HOW COULD THIS OF HAPPENED. I HAVE NEVER HEARD OF THIS EVER BEFORE AND AM SERIOUSLY GOING TO WATCH OUT FOR PROBLEMS. OUR DEALERSHIP WAS EXCELLENT IN FINDING IT WITH THEIR INSPECTION. I CAN ONLY PRAISE THE DEALERSHIP AND SERVICE DEPARTMENT. DEAR NHTSA, PLEASE INVESTIGATE IF THE WINDSHIELDS ON 2013 NISSAN ALTIMA'S ARE DEFECTIVE IN NATURE. THAT IS, DO THESE WINDSHIELDS HAVE A PROPENSITY TO EASILY CRACK POSSIBLY DUE TO WEAKNESS OR DEFECTIVE MANUFACTURING? OUR BRAND NEW ALTIMA WHICH HAS LESS THAN 2 YEARS OLD SUFFERED A CRACK WINDSHIELD PASSENGER SIDE, THAT APPEARED OUT OF NOWHERE. CAR WAS PURCHASED ON 2/27/2015. LEFT THE CAR LOT AND WENT BACK TO HAVE TIRE SENSOR REPLACED AFTER 30 MINUTES OF DRIVING. ON 3/3/2015, MY HUSBAND WAS IN THE CAR WHEN IT STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT AND WOULDN'T MOVE. THE ENGINE WOULD START BUT WOULDN'T MOVE. CALLED DEALERSHIP. THEY SENT A TOW TRUCK AND GOT US A RENTAL CAR. AFTER A COUPLE OF DAYS, WAS TOLD THAT THE TORQUE CONVERTER WAS GONE IN THE TRANSMISSION. THIS WAS REPLACED COSTING ME $100 DEDUCTIBLE. ALL OF THIS BEFORE MY FIRST CAR NOTE IS PAID. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 NISSAN ALTIMA. WHILE DRIVING 30 MPH, THE HEADLIGHTS BEGAN TO FLASH ON AND OFF INTERMITTENTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER TO BE REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 64,500. ....UPDATED 12/30/15 *BF
NISSAN ALTIMA 2013, 50,000 MILES. HAS A CRACKED WINDSHIELD. I HAVE SEEN MANY REPORTS OF OTHER OWNERS THAT HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM. THIS SHOULD BE INVESTIGATED AND A RECALL SHOULD BE ACQUIRED SINCE IT IS A SAFETY CONCERN. IF THERE'S A CAR ACCIDENT AND THE AIR BAGS DEPLOY WITH A CRACK WINDSHIELD THE AIR BACK MAY NOT DEPLOY CORRECTLY. THE VEHICLE HAD BEEN STATIONARY FOR A COUPLE MONTHS. CRACK APPEARED ALL OF A SUDDEN. I DO NOT RECALL A HARD IMPACT BY A ROCK OR OTHER SIMILAR DEBRIS. THE CAR HAD NOT BEEN DRIVEN IN THE FREEWAY.
FRONT PASSENGER AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT SAYS PASSENGER AIRBAG IS "OFF" EVEN WHEN SOMEONE (ADULT) IS SITTING IN PASSENGER SEAT. HAPPENS INTERMITTINGLY AND LIGHT GOES OFF (PASSENGER AIRBAG "ON") AFTER A WHILE-5 TO 10 MINUTES. COMPLAINED TO DEALER. THEY SAID THERE WAS NO RECALL. SAW NO PROBLEM.
TRANSMISSION LAGS SEVERELY AROUND 2,000 RPM. FAMILY MEMBER BOUGHT THE 2015 ALTIMA AND THE CVT TRANSMISSION, SEEMS FINE / STEADY. MINE HOWEVER NEEDS ADDITIONAL GAS APPLIED JUST TO AVOID THE CAR SLOWING SIGNIFICANTLY. HAVE READ MANY REVIEWS ABOUT THE 2013 FAULTY TRANSMISSION, AND THE FACT THAT NISSAN REFUSED TO RECALL. WILL NOT BE CONSIDERING ANOTHER NISSAN IF THIS CLEAR ISSUE ISN'T RECALLED.

A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED AND THE CONTACT SUSTAINED CHEST INJURIES . THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE AN INSPECTION WAS DONE ON THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 13,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.
ONGOING HARD STARTING WHEN WET OR COLD. FINALLY STARTED AFTER GRINDING FOR ABOUT 3 MINUTES. RAN ROUGH AWHILE.ENGINE LIGHT ON NOW. RUNS OK FOR NOW. SUSPECT CRANK OR CAM SENSORS. JUST TURNED 50K MILES. MY 97 ALTIMA IS MORE RELIABLE. ANYONE ELSE REPORTING PROBLEMS LIKE THIS? THIS IS RIDICULOUS. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 NISSAN ALTIMA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH, THE HOOD UNLATCHED AND STRUCK THE WINDSHIELD. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 55,000.
I WAS DRIVING NORTHBOUND ON MAXWELL ROAD NORTH OF HYNE ROAD IN BRIGHTON, MI. IN PREPARATION TO MAKE A 90 RIGHT HAND TURN TO STAY ON MAXFIELD, I APPLIED THE BRAKES WELL IN ADVANCE OF THE TURN. AFTER DOING SO, THE ABS BRAKES PULSED THE BRAKE PRESSURE REPEATEDLY RENDERING THE BRAKES USELESS. I TRIED TO COMPLETE THE TURN AND HALFWAY THROUGH THE TURN, I REALIZED I WAS HEADING AT ~45 RIGHT INTO A TREE. I TOOK MY FOOT OFF OF THE BRAKE AND CUT THE WHEEL AS HARD AS I COULD TO THE LEFT. THE FRONT RIGHT BUMPER AND FENDER HIT THE TREE. I HAD CONSIDERED WRITING A COMPLAINT REGARDING THE ABS AND TRACTION CONTROL ON THIS VEHICLE PREVIOUSLY AS THERE HAVE BEEN SEVERAL INSTANCES WHERE I HAVE FEARED FOR MY SAFETY AS THE VEHICLE DOES NOT STOP IN A REASONABLE DISTANCE AND I HAVE ALMOST SLID INTO A BUSY INTERSECTION SEVERAL TIMES. ALSO, POWER TO THE WHEELS IS CUT MUCH MORE THAN WHAT IS REASONABLE WHEN STARTING ON DAMP OR SNOWY ROADS TO THE POINT THAT I FEAR PULLING OUT ONTO A ROAD AND HAVE TO WAIT UNTIL THERE IS NO TRAFFIC FOR OVER A MILE. I BELIEVE THAT THE TUNING OF THE ABS SYSTEM AND TRACTION CONTROL SHOULD BE INVESTIGATED TO DETERMINE IF THERE IS AN ISSUE. IT SEEMS AS THOUGH THEY ARE TURNED THIS WAY TO PROTECT THE CVT FROM ANY SORT OF IMPULSE DUE TO THE WHEELS SLIPPING AND THEN GRABBING PAVEMENT. *TR
BRAKES FAULTY AND MALFUNCTIONING. ISSUE FOR MANY OWNERS OF 2013 NISSAN ALTIMA. THIS MECHANISM SHOULD BE RECALLED BEFORE SOMEONE IS INJURED OR KILLED.
I PURCHASED A 2013 NISSAN ALTIMA IN SEPTEMBER OF 2015 WITH LESS THAN 43,000 MILES. THE CAR WAS REALLY GOOD GAS AND I WAS REALLY HAPPY WITH THE PURCHASE. IN FEBRUARY OF 2016 WHILE ME AND MY HUSBAND WAS DRIVING IN TRAFFIC WE CAME TO A STOP AND THE CAR SHUT OFF. WE STARTED THE CAR UP FINE BUT AS SOON AS WE PLACED THE CAR IN DRIVE IT SHUT OFF AGAIN. WE REPEATED THESE STEPS OVER AND OVER AGAIN UNTIL HE WAS ABLE TO KEEP THE CAR RUNNING WHILE IN DRIVE SO WE COULD PULL ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. WE WERE VERY CLOSE TO THE WARRANTY EXPIRING SO WE TOOK THE CAR TO ANTIOCH, CA NISSAN DEALERSHIP. THEY SAID THAT THEY WOULD HAVE TO "DUPLICATE" THE PROBLEM BEFORE MOVING FORWARD. THEY KEPT OUR CAR FOR 3 DAYS TO NO AVAIL. THEY SAID THAT THEY COULD NOT "DUPLICATE" THE PROBLEM AND TO COME PICK UP THE CAR. 2 DAYS LATER WE STARTED EXPERIENCING THE SAME PROBLEM. WE DECIDED TO TAKE THE CAR TO A DIFFERENT NISSAN DEALERSHIP IN CONCORD, CA HOPING THAT WE WOULD GET A DIFFERENT OUTCOME. NEEDLESS TO SAY THEY COULDN'T "DUPLICATE" THE PROBLEM FOR 2 WEEKS!! THE GUY IN SERVICES ADMITTED THAT THEY HAVE MANY CARS COMING IN WITH THE SAME EXACT PROBLEM AND HE KNEW HOW TO GET THE CAR TO ACT UP SO THAT THEY COULD MOVE FORWARD. HOW CRAZY IS THAT??? HE CALLED ME 2 WEEKS LATER AND TOLD ME THAT THEY HAD TO "RESET" THE TRANSMISSION SYSTEM. HE ALSO TOLD ME THAT EVEN THOUGH I WAS VERY CLOSE TO MY WARRANTY EXPIRING THAT IF THE PROBLEM OCCURS AGAIN THAT THEY WOULD STILL HONOR THE WARRANTY BECAUSE THE PROBLEM PRE-EXISTED. NOT EVEN A WHOLE 2 MONTHS PASSED WHEN MY HUSBAND AND I WERE MOVING FROM CALIFORNIA TO TEXAS DID MY CAR STARTED HAVING THE EXACT SAME PROBLEMS IT HAD BEFORE BUT THIS TIME I NOTICED THAT THE TRANSMISSION WAS SLIPPING. I WAS GOING 80 MILES PER HOUR ON THE FREEWAY WHEN MY CAR SLOWED ALL THE WAY DOWN TO 40 MILES PER HOUR WHILE DRIVING IN FRONT AND ON THE SIDE OF A BIG RIG!!!!
THE BRAKES STARTED SQUEALING AFTER A COUPLE A DAYS AFTER I PURCHASED THE CAR, AND CONTINUE TO SQUEAL AFTER REPLACEMENT. TI HAVE CONTACTED THE DEALER AND THEY TOLD ME THAT IT IS COMMON, AND THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO. THIS CAR SQUEALS REALLY LOUD WHEN IT IS IN MOTION, AND WHEN THE BRAKES GET HOT.
MULTIPLE TIMES I'VE BEEN DRIVING AND OR SITTING IDLE. THE RADIO HAS FROZEN TO WHERE I HAVE TO PULL OVER, SHUT OFF THE VEHICLE, AND RESTART IT. THIS MAY TEMPORARILY CORRECT THE ISSUE. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED FOR THE RECALL. WHILE DRIVING 60 MPH, THE HOOD LATCH FRACTURED AND CAUSED EXTENSIVE DAMAGE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO FURTHER INSPECTED THE HOOD LATCH AND STATED THAT IT WAS NOT REPLACED. THE MECHANIC CHECKED WITH THE MANUFACTURER WHO STATED THAT THE HOOD LATCH HAD BEEN ON BACK ORDER AND THAT THE DEALER LUBRICATED THE LATCH, BUT DID NOT REPLACE THE PART. THE INDEPENDENT MECHANIC STATED THAT THE HOOD LATCH NEEDED TO BE REPLACED TO PREVENT THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT WAS UNABLE TO DETERMINE WHEN THE MANUFACTURER WOULD BE ABLE TO SUPPLY THE HOOD LATCH PART TO THE DEALER. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED BY THE INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 44,000.

I WAS MAKING A RIGHT TURN ONCE AND THE VEHICLE SHOT FORWARD AT A SPEED THAT IS TOO DANGEROUS FOR MAKING THE TURN SAFELY. I HAD THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER ON 2-25-15 AND THEY SAID THAT THE PROBLEM I AM EXPERIENCING IS NORMAL FOR THE CVT TRANSMISSION AND IT ADAPTS TO THE DRIVER'S HABITS. I DIDN'T KNOW IF I SHOULD LAUGH OR CRY. I WAS TOLD TO DIFFER MY DRIVING HABITS PERIODICALLY TO ALTER THE TRANSMISSION. I HAVE BEEN DRIVING FOR 56 YEARS OF ACCIDENT FREE DAYS. THE ISSUE FIRST STARTED TWO (2) MONTHS AFTER I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE, MAKING A SHUTTER/POWER SURGE FEELING UNDER ACCELERATION. THE BRAKES ALSO SHUTTERED, THE BACKUP CAMERA WENT IN AND OUT, THERE WERE NUMEROUS RECALLS FOR THE VEHICLE AS WELL. I BROUGHT IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY "FIXED" ALL OF THE ISSUES WITH SOME SOFTWARE UPDATES, RESURFACED THE ROTORS, AND ALSO REPLACED THE SIDE MIRRORS. THE TRANSMISSION SEEMED BETTER FOR A COUPLE OF MONTHS. THEN THE ISSUE STARTED AGAIN, THE CAR WOULD MAKE A LOUD GRINDING NOISE AND WOULD SHUTTER AT LOWER SPEEDS NOW. I BROUGHT IT BACK AND THEY COULD NOT REPLICATE THE ISSUE, SO I LEFT. I BROUGHT IT BACK A THIRD TIME WHEN IT STARTED GETTING WORSE AND THE ENTIRE TRANSMISSION WAS REPLACED UNDER WARRANTY. I GOT THE CAR BACK AND NOW THE PROBLEM IS HAPPENING WITH THE TRANSMISSION. IT SHUTTERS VIOLENTLY AND HAPPENS AT ALL SPEEDS UNDER ACCELERATION. I BROUGHT IT BACK FOR THE FOURTH TIME AND THEY COULD NOT "REPLICATE" THE ISSUE AND TOLD ME TO MONITOR THE ISSUE AND IF IT HAPPENS AGAIN TO BRING IT BACK IMMEDIATELY AND THEY WOULD LOOK AT IT. TODAY 09/16/15 IT WAS WORSE THAN OTHER DAYS SO I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO BECAUSE THEY WERE TOO BUSY TO SEE ME. IT STILL SHUDDERS/SURGES DAILY AND AT ALL SPEEDS. IT REALLY FEELS LIKE THE TRANSMISSION IS ABOUT TO LET GO.
LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS DO NOT ILLUMINATE THE ROAD. I CANNOT SEE THE ROAD WHILE DRIVING IN THE DARK WITH THE LOW BEAM HEAD LIGHTS ON. THIS HAS BECOME PROGRESSIVELY WORSE. THE DEALERSHIP SAYS THIS IS A DESIGN FLAW AND THE ENTIRE HEADLIGHT UNIT COSTS $1400 EACH PLUS LABOR. OR I COULD BUY A NEW CAR, THEY SAID. I AM NOT AWARE OF THIS WHILE DRIVING PLACES WITH LIGHTED STREETS UNTIL DRIVING IN UNLIT AREAS DURING THE DARK TIMES OF DAY. WE TOOK IT TO A NISSAN DEALERSHIP, THE TECHNICIAN SAID THAT IT IS A KNOWN MANUFACTURING DEFECT AND HE RECOMMENDED LED BULBS. I CHANGED THE BULBS AGAIN TO LED ONES AND NOTHING CHANGED. I CANNOT SEE MORE THAN A CAR LENGTH IN FRONT OF MY CAR AT NIGHT. WHEN A CAR IS BEHIND ME WITH REAL HEADLIGHTS, IT THROWS A SHADOW AND MAKES IT MORE DIFFICULT TO SEE IN FRONT OF THE CAR. I CANNOT SEE WHERE I AM TURNING AND I AM AFRAID I AM GOING TO HIT A PEDESTRIAN OR RUN OFF THE ROAD BECAUSE OF SUCH POOR VISIBILTY FROM THE DIM HEADLIGHTS. NISSAN IS AWARE OF THIS DEFECT. I HAVE READ COMPLAINTS FROM MANY OTHER ALTIMA DRIVERS WHO HAVE THE SAME DANGEROUS ISSUE. THE PROBLEM IS IN THE HEADLIGHT ENCLOSURE ASSEMBLY (PROJECTOR/REFLECTOR ISSUE) WHICH MUST BE REPLACED WITH NEW AT A COST IN EXCESS OF $1,000 BECAUSE IT REQUIRES REMOVAL OF THE FRONT BUMPER COVER AND PLASTIC SPLASH LINER UNDER BUMPER COVER.
