Hood flew opened while driving.
The contact owns a Baby Trend Travel System, Model Number: TS44D23A, Manufactured Date: September 23, 2020. The car seat was being utilized in a 2014 Nissan Altima. The base latch would not release as a result, the car seat was not able to release easily. Additionally, the child was not able to be properly secured while using the seat. The contact also stated that the chest strap would tighten without warning. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The car seat was not repaired or replaced. The VIN was not available.
My wife made a left hand turn and heard a noise and the car started to handle poorly. She called me and thought she had a flat tire. I went to the scene and determined the tires weren't flat but the rear left control arm was broken off. I was able to get it to our mechanics shop. When we put it on the hoist we could see not only was the left side broken off completely but the right side is cracked in the same spot on that side as well. The traction control light did light up when it happened but not before.
There is a known issue with Altima headlamps that causes dimming of the lights. This resulted in a class action lawsuit. Though Nissan is making a test available to confirm eligibility for replacement, they are not providing a time frame for when they will provide dealers with parts to correct the issue. This is resulting in a severe inability to see well when driving at night especially if weather events occur and/or lighting of roads changes. I qualified, per dealer, for headlamp replacement but they cannot provide an ETA as to when the work can be done because Nissan is not giving them any sort of time frame. I have chosen to only drive roads I know during night hours, however, unexpected events like sudden rain showers or lighting being off on roadways unexpectedly - is a huge hazard and makes it difficult to see people, animals, and road markings. I am having to limit the use of my vehicle in order to drive safely, however there are times when unknown/unexpected circumstances beyond my control change visibility of roadways and the dim lights cause an enormous safety concern. That Nissan will not even provide an ETA on replacement headlamps is severely irresponsible and negligent. This is an ongoing matter and not limited to one specific date.
Light is dim, tried to replace bulb several time. Please see Suarez vs. Nissan North America
My 2014 Nissan Altima has dangerously dim headlights. At night driver and passengers cannot tell the lights are on. In foggy, rainy, and snow conditions at night, they are virtually useless. I have had new bulbs installed, which did not improve the problem. I have been told the problem emanates from a manufacturer defect in the headlight assembly. Both headlight assemblies must be replaced, which is very costly. This safety issue could cause a traffic accident. We often must turn the high beams on just to see the roadway. This could also cause another driver to be blinded.
The contact owns a 2014 Nissan Altima. The contact stated that while driving at 65 MPH, the hood inadvertently opened and hit and cracked the windshield on the passenger’s side. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact veered to the side of the road and closed the hood. There were no injuries sustained. The contact was able to continue to drive the vehicle. The contact stated that the hood was bent and would no longer open as needed. The contact became aware of NHTSA Campaign Number: 20V315000 (Latches/Locks/Linkages). The dealer and the manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 88,000.
When driving my rear control arm, on my nissan altima 2014 rusted and corroded so much that it broke in the back. When taking it to pep boys, they had said the left side was only a matter of time as well before that too suffered a similar fate. I live in Michigan which constantly uses salt to help the roads during winter. I have received an invoice of 2700 for repairs and after some googling I saw that Nissan had a major issue with this, that's great, however I was never notified via mail, emial, phone, nothing. I had no way of knowing this was going to, or happen, until after the fact.
The rear lower control arm failed and broke in half, causing springs, shocks, struts, pins, knuckles, bolts to fracture/break or collapse. The tire bowed inward at the top and made loud knocking and rattling noises for six months. I took to three different Nissan dealers, and all told me nothing was wrong. 1/6/22 I was driving on I-90S in Chicago, IL, and when the rear driver control arm failed and craked, utterly separating. The electronic stability control, lade departure, and blindspot warning system all deactivated and gave me malfunction code on the display screen in my dash. The steering wheel loosened and turned 30-40 degrees left, causing the vehicle to spin. I was able to take back control of the car after almost being hit and killed, getting to the shoulder hitting the concrete guard rails. Nissan parts director inspected my vehicle and determined that my vehicle indeed met the failure criteria based on what occurred and the damage. Nissan N.A. denies any fault despite approving to pay and replace some but not all parts and damage caused by their defective parts. It is currently under repair order warranty approved by Nissan N.A. and being investigated because the vehicle has frame damage as result now also but continues to deny any fault.
The low beam headlights are almost non existent. The only way to get sufficient lighting for nighttime driving is to use the hi beam lights exclusively. There is no safe speed to operate vehicle with only the low beams. It is not an issue with bulbs, but rather the entire headlight assembly. I will put a date in the "additional details" box, but it is an issue that has been an ongoing degradation of the lights and not a date specific problem.
Latches, locks, linkages, hood. Recall number 372379
The contact owns a 2014 Nissan Altima. The contact stated while driving approximately 30 MPH and at various speeds at night, the low-beam headlights were very dim; requiring the contact to use the high-beam headlights to illuminate the roadway. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The contact had taken the vehicle to a local dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the halogen headlights needed to be replaced. The contact was told that the headlights were under the Manufacturer Recall Number: PC890 (Halogen Headlamps). The contact was advised that the parts to perform the recall replacement were not yet available. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 121,000.
The contact owns a 2014 Nissan Altima. The contact stated that upon taking the vehicle to an independent mechanic for an oil change, the independent mechanic informed her that the check engine warning light was illuminated. The contact stated that the independent mechanic hard reset the code; however, while she was driving the vehicle, the ABS warning light, the brake warning light, TPMS warning light, traction warning light, check engine warning light, and other unknown warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to another independent mechanic who diagnosed that the vehicle’s computer was not communicating as designed. The vehicle was then taken to the dealer who diagnosed that the CVT transmission and ECM needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that they would only cover 50% of the transmission repair under an unknown recall as the vehicle had been out of warranty for 5 months. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 74,000.
Lights are very dimmed at night even the high beam. Can barely see at night when driving. Lights need to be changed to a brighter set ASAP before an accident or death happens.
Front lights very dim, cracked light covers
My hood slammed open when I was driving on the parkway. I entered the parkway ( Route 28) in Pittsburgh, Pa during rush hour. Three to four cars entered the road seconds before me. While I attempted to gain speed to keep up with the rush hour traffic and avoid being hit by the on coming traffic my car hood slammed open. The auto body shop stated the fenders on both side need to be repaired or replaced. There may be damage to the hood, unknown until repair is performed. I had the hood latched recalled correction done to my car in late August or early September 2021. The latch is more prone to disengage after the repair. Nissan chooses not to make any repairs to my car.
The contact owns a 2014 Nissan Altima. The contact stated that while driving at an unknown speed, the contact noticed that the headlights were very dim, making it difficult to see the road. The vehicle was taken to the dealer however, the dealer refused to repair the vehicle. The dealer referred the contact to the manufacturer for assistance. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 55,000.
The air bag light came on, on November 2021, and stays on all the time. When I took the car to the dealer to check what was wrong with it I was told the airbag might not deploy in case of impact. The car is less than 8 years old, but I was told it was not under warranty and there was no recall for that. I was told they had to replace two parts: 98820-9HN9ASensor-Side AIRBAG Center and 87650-9HP3ABack Assembly Front Seat, for a total cost of approximately $2400, but the parts were not available. The money was refunded to me three months later and the parts have not been replaced. I do not feel safe driving the car around; unfortunately it is the only car I have. The car is available for inspection upon request.
I am trying to ship my vehicle from Grafenwoehr, Germany (military base) to Colorado, United States. I have the safety recall for my hood but none of the dealerships near me, can help me fix the issue so I can ship my vehicle back to the states. I was told I need some documentation saying this. So I can ship my vehicle. Can i get help please.
WITH HEADLIGHTS ON DIM IT LOOKS AS IF THE LIGHTS ARE NOT ON AT ALL VERY DIM TO NO VISIBILTY. HAVE TO DRIVE WITH LIGHTS ON BRIGHT.
The contact's fiancée owns a 2014 Nissan Altima. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, the vehicle was making abnormal roaring and whining sounds. An unknown warning light illuminated. The contact stated that the failure occurred increasingly while depressing the accelerator pedal. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the CVT transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that they could not assist as the vehicle was out of warranty. The failure mileage was approximately 98,000.
My headlights are dimming. I’ve had the bulbs replaced, my battery replaced and the wiring checked. No one can seem to find why these are dimming
Head lights are not visible when on low beam at night
My 2014 Nissan Altima’s transmission has to be replaced. The Nissan dealership gave me a quote of $4,093.00 to replace it. The car starts to run fine, then when at a stop and go, the car doesn’t go when I step on the gas or is delayed in going and the RPM’s are high and it feels forced. I was on the freeway and the car lost speed which was very scary because I could’ve have caused an accident. My safety and that of others was put at risk. I’ve had to stop using the vehicle until I can repair this costly issue. There were not any lights or warning messages in the car when this happened. Now that I’ve done research I know that there are many complaints and lawsuits related to the transmission issues Nissan has had for many years and they’ve done nothing about it. They should take responsibility and issue a recall on these vehicles to correct the issue.
I been trying to fix my vehicle recalls at my nearest location but they just don't got the time to work on my car, i experienced a terrible situation when i was driving on the freeway back from Los Angeles my hood opened i thank good i was driving less than 65mph with a few cars around me and my reactions was not too panic and slowly looking in all directions was able too pull aside of the freeway and closed the hood, I had family in my car and I just thank god nothing major happened I just can't imagine how terrible the situation could of end for my family and mine if i would of been going faster and not paying attention we could of lost our lives , i really do not feel safe at all driving this vehicle with my family anymore but this is our only transportation , I honestly want Nissan to upgrade me a new car i do not feel safe at all even after you guys fix it , I do not want to risk a similar situation again pleas contact me at [XXX]. I parked my car, I tried to exit my automobile. The front driver side door would not open, the handle being very loose. I had to climb over the console and exit the passenger side of the auto. At 82 years of age, this maneuver was something certainly not expected. After exiting the car, I tried the driver side door from the outside, the door opened. I drove the car to the Nissan service center. The service employee said that he has seen this happen about 3 or 4 times and that it was a poorly designed This interior. He quoted me a price of $500 to $600 to fix the problem. I would hate to think of my husband who has arthritis as well as circulatory problems being in this situation. God forbid if someone had to exit the car in an emergency. I wouldn't want to think of being trapped in this vehicle if an emergency exit was warranted.
The contact owns a 2014 Nissan Altima. The contact stated while driving 45 MPH, the primary hood latch inadvertently released, causing the windshield to crack, and denting the hood and fenders. The check engine and air bag warning lights were illuminated. The dealer was made aware of the failure and referred the contact to the manufacturer. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and a case was opened, but the contact had not heard from the manufacturer since. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 20V315000 (Latches/Locks/Linkages) which was associated with the VIN. However, the contact never received notification of the recall. The failure mileage was approximately 203,000.

I was driving on the interstate and a deer struck my vehicle going approximately 60-65 mph. None of the airbags deployed. The sensor lights were not on and did not indicate any airbag sensor issues. The incident damaged the radiator and my vehicle had to be towed. I could have potentially suffered a serious physical injury. Insurance representatives were contacted and the vehicle is at the repair shop currently.
I was driving and I had noticed car was about to stall out. I was in major traffic and my car shut completely down in rush hour traffic. There's a recall for CTV transmission. I had taken my car to the dealership numerous of time for them to fix the recall. The service representative had advised that they don't have the CTV parts yet. So on October 14 2021 my 2014 Nissan Altima SV shutdown on a major highway a d that God I didn't get hit. I had to call a tow truck and they towed my car to the Nissan dealership. I'm still waiting on Nissan Headquarters for an answer. Also Nissan Headquarters gave me a case number

Due to the failure, the contact had the vehicle towed to his home. Upon doing research online, the contact discovered a technique that would cause the vehicle to reset itself once the failure occurred. The contact eventually took the vehicle to a dealer; however, the dealer was unable to determine the cause of the failure. The contact also found information that the failure with his vehicle could be linked to the camshaft sensor or crankshaft sensor. The manufacturer had yet to be notified of the failure. My mother in law was driving this vehicle with 3 of her grandchildren (one was my son). She noticed the car seemed squirrelly on the highway. They stopped at a Restaurant and called me. I drove there and took a look. The right rear wheel was at a terrible angle. I looked underneath and noticed the right rear control arm was nearly broken apart. Picture will be attached. This could have ended much differently. The car was towed to a shop and they noticed both the left and right control arms needed to be replaced as they were both rusted out. This is on a car that was kept in a garage it's entire life. The shop told us there is a recall for Altimas for this but not for our VIN number. Why this recall was not for the vehicle is unbelievable.

Low beams are too dim while driving at night they look like they are practically not even on at all.
On my 2014 Nissan Altima, sometimes from a stop when accelerating there is a delay. RPM's do not go up, just no movement. But if you leave the gas pedal engaged when the motor decides to work it hits hard. The danger is entering traffic. It's very scary. If it was to happen to my wife she would panic and press the accelerator more and that also creates a whole different situation... I have read that "Nissan" is not claiming any responsibility for this problem and actually hasn't fixed any customers cars because they cannot recreate this failure! Thank you, Tom
As many other complaints I have seen on here, the headlights on the car go dim over time. If we can switch the bulb, that would be great but that doesn't solve the issue. I can barely see at night when driving. I avoid driving at night because of that reason. The manufacturer should be responsible for replacing these for the customer. We shouldn't have to wait for someone to get hurt or worse before something is done about this.
While driving the car will suddenly jerk and starts to shake and when pressing the gas the car will not accelerate so I have had to turn on emergency lights to not get hit in the back the rpm goes up but not the mph
The contact's girlfriend owns a 2014 Nissan Altima. The contact stated that while his girlfriend was driving approximately 60 MPH, the steering wheel was uncontrollable. The steering wheel failed to correctly move left or right. The contact stated that the steering wheel turned a full 360 degrees. The driver was able to safely pull over to the shoulder. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was towed to the local dealer where it was diagnosed, and the contact was informed that the control arms on the driver’s and passenger’s side had fractured. Additionally, two bolts needed to be sheared off. The vehicle was repaired. The contact stated that the owner never received a recall notification. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and agreed to cover half the cost of the repairs. The contact is concerned about receiving reimbursement for repairs. The failure mileage was approximately 132,000.
The headlights have deteriorated so badly that I cannot see to drive at night. A quick search online reveals this is a very common problem with this model. I bought the car new and it has been very well maintained. The reflective internal coating on the headlight assembly deteriorates apparently due to the high heat of the halogen bulbs. This is a tremendous safety issue. Please due the right thing and force them to recall these cars to fix this very dangerous situation.
The contact owns a 2014 Nissan Altima. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, the headlights were dim. The contact owns a 2014 Nissan Altima. The contact stated while driving at 35 MPH, the steering wheel became loose and he almost lost control of the vehicle. The traction control warning light illuminated. The contact stated he was able to park the vehicle. The vehicle was towed to the independent mechanic, who diagnosed that the driver and passenger rear lower control of the vehicle had failed due to corrosion. The dealer was made aware of the failure and informed that the contact would be responsible for the cost of repair since the TSB only covered vehicles manufactured in 2013. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but did not provide assistance. The approximate failure mileage was 158,000
Low beam lights extremely low, I almost hit the median because I could not see it ahead at night , even when the low beam lights were turned on. I notice the low beam light are very dim and I often have to use the Hi beam lights to be able to see the road at night. This extremely low light issue has been going on for years even after I replaced the light bulbs with brighter light bulbs. The problem is really bad , both when driving in the city and driving on the road, .

Many people complain about the sunroof leaking and the compressor. This will be the second time having issues with compressor. It effects my defrost which can be a serious safety hazard. Water accumulates in the floor boards and the headliner which causes mold and mildew which leads to respiratory issues. I paid 1200 to replace the compressor one year ago and not I am having the same issues. I see many people talk about this issue online. Standing water on the floor boards and air does not cool.
