IT MAKING A LOUD SOUND SINCE I HAD NEW BRAKES PUT ON
THE CHROME AND I HAD LIGHT LAMP IS BURNING IT IS A KNOWN ISSUE AND THERE HAS NOT BEEN A RECALL THROUGH NISSAN THERE'S NOTHING WRONG WITH THAT I'D LIKE THERE'S NOTHING WRONG WITH THE BULBS AND THERE IS ZERO VISIBILITY AT NIGHT.
VISIBILITY HAS ALWAYS BEEN BAD. CANNOT SEE WELL DRIVING AT NIGHT. THE HEADLIGHTS DO NOT PROJECT.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 NISSAN ALTIMA. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE RPM DECREASED. ADDITIONALLY, WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE WAS SHAKING AND SHUT-OFF WITH SEVERAL UNKNOWN WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS RESTARTED AND OPERATED AS DESIGNED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO FONTANA NISSAN (16444 S. HIGHLAND AVE, FONTANA, CA 92336, (909) 574-2288) WHO DIAGNOSED THE VEHICLE AND CONFIRMED THAT THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHCILE WAS NOT REPAIRED DUE TO HAVING A SALVAGE TITLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE DEALERS WERE INDEPENDENTLY OWNED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 74,000.
Nissan has issued a replacement of headlights but parts are unavailable. Car is unsafe to drive during hours of darkness. I spoke with both the dealer (Coggin Nissan on Atlantic, Jacksonville, FL and Nissan this morning. Parts were ordered in August but as of today there is no indication as to when they will be available. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE. I cannot use this car safely between dusk and dawn.
The contact owns a 2014 Nissan Altima. The contact stated while driving 70 MPH, he heard an abnormal knocking sound coming from the rear of the vehicle and lost control of the vehicle. The vehicle drove towards the right lane, but the contact was able to veer to the side of the road as there were no other vehicles around. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the rear passenger’s side lower control arm was fractured and needed to be replaced. The contact stated that the failure reoccurred while driving. The contact veered to the side of the road. The contact exited the vehicle and noticed that the rear driver’s side lower control arm was fractured. The contact continued to drive the vehicle slowly to his residence. The dealer was not notified of the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that they could not assist because the VIN was not included in an unknown recall. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 108,000
VEHICLE TRAVELING STRAIGHT ON HIGHWAY AT APPROX. 65 MPH. VEHICLE JERKED IN A FISHTAIL MANNER TO THE LEFT HAND DRIVERS SIDE. I IMMEDIATELY PULLED OFF THE HIGHWAY, DISCOVERED A COMPLETELY FLAT TIRE (PURCHASED ONLY 2 WEEKS AGO). VEHICLE TOWED TO DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD THAT REAR LOWER CONTROL ARM WAS SEVERELY CRACKED, UNSAFE TO DRIVE. SERVICE MEMBER ALSO ADVISED ME THAT THIS IS AN ONGOING ISSUE WITH MY VEHICLE AND THAT I NEEDED TO GO THROUGH NISSAN USA CONSUMER AFFAIRS SINCE MY VEHICLE (ALTHOUGH THE MILLIONS OF ISSUES ON RECORD) TO HAVE MY REPAIR APPROVED. VEHICLE IS CURRENTLY AT DEALERSHIP AND I AM AWAITING NISSAN USA CONSUMER AFFAIRS TO CALL BACK TO ADDRESS THE ISSUE. VEHICLE IS APPROX. 7K MILES OUTSIDE OF 60K MILE WARRANTY.
THE AIRBAG LIGHT HAS BEEN ON CONSISTENTLY.
THE AIRBAG LIGHT WON'T TURN OFF. I'M UNSURE WHICH AIRBAG, BUT FROM WHAT I UNDERSTAND THE LIGHT ON MEANS AIRBAGS WON'T DEPLOY CORRECTLY IN THE EVENT OF AN ACCIDENT. IT STARTED ON 12/13/20 AND HAS CONTINUED THROUGHOUT 12/14/20. THE LIGHT STAYS ON REGARDLESS OF WHAT POSITION IT'S IN. PARKED, TURNING, DRIVING, ETC.
THE HEADLIGHTS ON LOW BEAM PUT OUT ALMOST ZERO LIGHT, IT IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE. THERE ARE MANY THREADS ON THE INTERNET AND THIS IS IS A KNOWN ISSUE.
LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS ARE VERY DIM, CHANGED BULBS, CLEANED HEADLIGHTS NOTHING FIX THE PROBLEM, NEED TO CHANGE COMPLETE HEADLIGHTS
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 NISSAN ALTIMA. THE CONTACT HAD STATED THERE AN ABNORMAL BURNING ODOR COMING FROM THE VEHICLE. THERE WAS NO WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 20 MPH, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO ACCELERATE PROPERLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TURNED OFF AND RESTARTED AND ACCELERATED AS DESIGNED. THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT WAS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT CALLED HEADQUARTER NISSAN (1725 WHITTLESEY RD, COLUMBUS, GA 31904; (706) 225-8100) HOWEVER, THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 105,000.
HEADLIGHTS NO LONGER LIGHT THE ROAD ADEQUATELY ON THE DIM SETTING. TRIED REPLACING BULBS BUT NO IMPROVEMENT.
The contact owns a 2014 Nissan Altima. The contact stated that the headlights of the vehicle were continuously dim. The contact stated that the headlight bulbs and the headlamps were replaced; however, the failure persisted. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was determined that both headlights needed to be repaired. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact related the failure to NHTSA ID Number: 10242160. The manufacturer was contacted and informed the contact that she would be charged a fee for the repairs. The failure mileage was 75,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 NISSAN ALTIMA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE PULLING INTO A GAS STATION, THERE WAS A POPPING SOUND COMING FROM THE VEHICLE FOLLOWED BY A RATTLING SOUND. THE CONTACT BECAME AWARE THAT THE REAR PASSENGER'S SIDE TIRE WAS SLIGHTLY BENT. THE CONTACT THEN LOOKED UNDERNEATH THE VEHICLE AND NOTICED RUST NEAR THE BOLT AND JOINT WITH THE CONTROL ARM, AS WELL AS, A FRACTURE. A CERTIFIED MECHANIC INSPECTED THE VEHICLE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE REAR CONTROL ARM FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. MANCHESTER CITY NISSAN LOCATED AT 30 TOLLAND TURNPIKE, MANCHESTER, CT 06042; (860) 398-4326) WAS CONTACTED AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VIN WAS NOT UNDER RECALL. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 107,000.
I WAS DRIVING WHEN MY CAR STARTED TO JERK AND A SLIP INDICATOR LIGHT APPEARS ON THE DASHBOARD BUT I CONTINUED DRIVING ON CITY STREET. I GOT TO A LIGHT ABOUT TO TURN AND THE CAR WOULD NOT GO FORWARD BUT ONLY ROLL BACK. IT'S THE CVT TRANSMISSION PER TWO SHOPS THAT RECEIVED CODES FOR THE TRANSMISSION. ALSO I SEE WHERE NISSAN HAS A LOT OF COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE CVT TRANSMISSION IS THERE VEHICLES. EVEN THOUGH MY WARRANTY IS EXPIRED I HAVE ABOUT 140,000 MILES ON MY VEHICLE CLEARLY IT'S SOMETHING WITH THE EQUIPMENT.
LOW BEAM LIGHTS DO NOT WORK TO WHERE YOU CAN'T SEE 50 FEET IN FRONT OF YOU. REPLACED THE LIGHT BULBS AND STILL NOT ANY BETTER. HUGE SAFETY CONCERN WHEN DRIVING AT NIGHT
AS OF NOVEMBER 2020, THE AIRBAG INDICATOR ILLUMINATED AND REMAINED ON. IT INITIALLY OCCURRED WHEN STARTING THE CAR AND THERE WERE NO PASSENGERS. MY CONCERN IS WHETHER THE AIRBAG WILL DEPLOY PROPERLY IN THE EVENT OF A CRASH, WHICH IS A SAFETY ISSUE.
LOW BEAM LIGHTS ARE EXTREMELY DANGEROUS. CANNOT SEE AT ALL. MUST USE HIGH BEAM IN ORDER TO SEE WHAT IS AHEAD. HAD LIGHTS REPLACED TWICE AND DOESN'T CORRECT THE ISSUE.
MY HEADLIGHTS ARE EXTREMELY DIM WHEN DRIVING AT NIGHT. I REPLACED THE HALOGEN BULBS, AND IT DID NOT FIX THE PROBLEM. I ALSO TRIED TO SWITCH TO LED BULBS, BUT THAT DID NOT FIX IT EITHER. ON HIGHWAYS, IT'S HARD TO SEE STREET SIGNS AND ON MULTI-LANE FREEWAYS, THE LANE MARKERS ARE HARDER TO SEE BECAUSE I'M GOING AT A FASTER SPEED. ON TOP OF THAT, I CANNOT SEE FURTHER AHEAD ON ANY ROAD AND ONCOMING CAR'S HEADLIGHTS THAT ARE BRIGHTER THAN MINE MAKE THE PROBLEM EVEN WORSE. I NEED THIS PROBLEM FIXED.
I HAVE BEEN HEARING A CLUNKING SOUND FROM REAR OF CAR FOR FEW YEARS MULTIPLE TRIPS TO DEALERS AND HAD THEM LOOK INTO NOISE. THE ONLY THING THEY CAME UP WITH IS THE SHOCKS WERE BAD, I REPLACED THEM AND CAR STILL HAD THE CLUNKING SOUND. I WAS RETURNING HOME FROM TRIP TO STORE AND WHEN ENTERING MY DRIVEWAY OFF PUBLIC SIDE ROAD @ ABOUT 2MPH THE DRIVERS SIDE REAR CONTROL ARM BROKE CLEAN OFF FROM THE MOUNT BOLTED TO THE FRAME AND THE TIRE CRASHED INTO THE INNER FENDER AND TWISTED TO ~45 DEGREE ANGLE. I KNOW THAT THE 2013 HAS A RECALL IN USA AND CANADA AND CANADA ALSO HAS RECALL FOR 2014 FOR THE SAME PROBLEM. IF THIS HAD BROKE WHILE I WAS ON EXPRESSWAY 5 MINUTES EARLIER THIS COULD HAVE CAUSED SERIOUS INJURY TO MYSELF AND PASSENGERS NOT TO MENTION ANY BODY ELSE THAT COULD HAVE IN MY PATH. WHEN DEALER REPLACED DRIVER SIDE HE SAID THAT THE PASSENGER SIDE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED ALSO AS IT WAS SHOWING STRESS CRACKS. THE CAR IS GARAGE KEPT AND LOCATED LOCATED IN WISCONSIN I HAVE ALL THE PARTS THAT CAME OFF THE CAR IF ANYTHING IS NEEDED I CAN BE REACHED @ [XXX] REDACTED TO PROTECT PERSONALLY IDENTIFIABLE INFORMATION PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6). *CC
MY LOW BEAM LIGHTS ARE VERY DIM. I CAN BARELY SEE AT NIGHT. I HAVE REPLACE THE LIGHT BULBS AND THAT DID NOT HELP. I HAVE TO CONSTANTLY DRIVE WITH HIGH BEAM ON BUT WITH INCOMING TRAFFIC I HAVE TO GO BACK TO LOW BEAM AND IT'S LIKE THE INCOMING TRAFFIC IS BLINDING ME. I CAN BARELY DRIVE THE CAR A NIGHT DUE TO THIS ISSUE. IT'S BEEN AN ONGOING PROBLEM WITH THE LIGHTS. THEY ARE GETTING WORSENED BY THE DAY.
THE DIM HEADLIGHTS SUDDENLY BECAME DANGEROUS WHEN DRIVING AT NIGHT BECAUSE YOU CAN'T SEE 50FT IN FRONT OF YOU WITH THE LIGHTS ON DIM. THE DRIVERS SIDE SUN VISOR SQUEAKED WHEN THE CAR WAS NEW AND WHEN THE CAR WAS OUT OF WARRANTY THE INTERNAL CLIP ON THE VISOR BROKE.
THE REGULAR HEADLIGHTS (NOT HIGH BEAMS) ARE SO DIM THAT IT MAKES IT VERY DIFFICULT TO SEE AT NIGHT. IN LOW LIGHT AREAS (CITY STREETS) I HAVE BUMPED THE CURB BECAUSE I COULD NOT SEE IT AND WHEN TURNING IN LOW LIT INTERSECTIONS, I AM UNABLE TO SEE WHERE THE LANES ARE, MAKING IT VERY DIFFICULT TO SAFELY TURN. I HAVE CLEANED THE OUTER PART OF THE HEADLIGHT AND REPLACED THE LIGHTS WITH NO IMPROVEMENT.
The vehicle does not detect the front passenger.
THE LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS ARE POOR. NISSAN INSTALL A BRAND NEW SET OF LIGHTS AND I CAN'T SEE BUT 5 FEET IN FRONT OF MY CAR AT NIGHT. THE LIGHT ILLUMINATED IS TERRIBLE. THE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY IS THE PROBLEM. THEY KNEW IT BEFORE THEY TOOK MY $130 TO REPLACE WITH LIHGHTS THAT DID ME NO GOOD. I USE HIGH BEAMS MOSTLY.
MY WIFE AND I STARTED TO NOTICE THE DIMNESS OVER A YEAR AGO, BUT IT BECAME MORE APPARENT WHEN WE DROVE THROUGH SOME BACK COUNTRY WITH WINDING ROADS FOR A WEEKEND GETAWAY WITH THE FAMILY. IT WAS STRESSFUL, SCARY AT TIMES AND OBVIOUSLY A HAZARD. I PRETTY MUCH HAD TO KEEP MY HIGH BEAMS ON FOR THE WHOLE STRETCH OF THE DARK ROADS ESPECIALLY ON SHARP AND BLIND TURNS. SINCE THAT EXPERIENCE, WE TRY TO STEER CLEAR OF TAKING TRIPS IN THE EVENING... BUT EVEN NOW ON REGULAR ROUTINE DRIVES ON FREEWAYS OR EVEN PULLING UP TO MY COURT THE DIM BEAMS ARE MORE OBVIOUS THAN EVER. I WENT TO GET MY OIL CHANGE SERVICE DONE TODAY, AND MENTIONED MY ISSUE WITH THE HEADLIGHTS AND INQUIRED ABOUT REPLACEMENTS. THEY SUGGESTED RUNNING A DIAGNOSTIC TO IDENTIFY THE SOURCE BUT IT WOULD COST $375 OR SOMETHING JUST TO DO THAT... I MENTIONED THAT THEY RECENTLY DID A DIAGNOSTIC (THAT I PAID FOR WHEN THEY WERE TRYING TO FIGURE OUT ANOTHER CONCERN I HAD WITH THE BRAKE LIGHT GOING AND NO ISSUES WERE FOUND, JUST NEEDED TO TOP OFF THE BRAKE FLUID) SO I PASSED ON IT... I THEN INQUIRED ABOUT REPLACEMENTS AND WAS TOLD THEY WOULD BE ABOUT $400 TO REPLACE BOTH SIDES. FROM THAT POINT I GOOGLED COST TO COMPARE AND CAME ACROSS ARTICLES, FORUMS THAT BROUGHT TO LIGHT THAT I WASN'T ALONE WITH MY CONCERN AND ISSUE WITH THE HEADLIGHTS. AND SOME COMMENTS MENTIONED REPLACEMENTS SUCH AS HID OR LED DIDN'T DO MUCH TO HELP THE DIM BEAM. I AM NOT SURE NOW IF I WANT TO SPEND THE MONEY TO REPLACE OR KEEP GOOGLING ON WAYS TO HELP FIX THE PROBLEM IN A MORE COST EFFECTIVE WAY. HOPEFULLY THERE IS A RECALL BECAUSE THE DIM LOW BEAM IS A HAZARD THAT FIXING WILL SAVE LIVES AND MAKE IT LESS STRESSFUL AT NIGHT TO DRIVE... ESPECIALLY WHEN CARRYING SPECIAL CARGO.
I'VE BEEN IN CONTACT WITH NISSAN REGARDING THIS, BUT THEY STATED THAT THE NHTSA IS THE AGENCY RESPONSIBLE FOR ISSUING RECALLS BEFORE THEY WOULD ADDRESS ANY VEHICLE ISSUES OUTSIDE OF WARRANTY. I WAS TOLD THAT MY VEHICLE HAS ABOUT $1,500 WORTH OF REPAIRS NEEDED BECAUSE OF SOME RUST/CORROSION ISSUES WITH THE REAR LOWER LINKS. AFTER DOING A LITTLE RESEARCH, I DISCOVERED THAT THERE IS A RECALL FOR THIS ISSUE, BUT IT ONLY APPLIES TO 2013 ALTIMAS IN THE US, BUT BOTH 2013 AND 2014 ALTIMAS IN CANADA. SO I WANTED TO REACH OUT TO YOU AND SEE IF YOU COULD ADD A LITTLE INSIGHT INTO THIS AND HOW IT MAKES ANY SENSE THAT THERE IS A KNOWN SAFETY ISSUE WITH THE 2014 ALTIMAS AND SO THEY OFFER A PROGRAM LIKE THIS, BUT THEN LEAVE OUT THE 2014 MODEL IN THE US, BUT INCLUDE IT IN CANADA? IT'S THE SAME MODEL VEHICLE REGARDLESS OF IF IT'S IN CANADA OR THE US AND I FEEL QUITE CONFIDENT THAT CANADA'S ROAD SALT USAGE IS NOT SIGNIFICANTLY HIGHER THAN MINNESOTA'S. AS IS EVIDENCED BY THE FACT THAT MY VEHICLE HAS THIS ISSUE AND THAT THE 2013 MODELS WERE INCLUDED WITH THIS CAMPAIGN FOR SELECT US STATES. SO IF YOU COULD ADD THE 2014 ALTIMAS IN THE US TO THIS CAMPAIGN/RECALL, IT WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED. I HAVE A VIDEO SHOWING THE ISSUES FROM WALSER NISSAN IF WOULD BE HELPFUL. PLEASE ADVISE. THE LOW BEAM ON MY NISSAN ALTIMA IS EXTREMELY DIM. IS SO DANGEROUS TO DRIVE AT NIGHT. MY FRIEND GOT AN ACCIDENT LAST NIGHT BECAUSE OF THIS ISSUE. I HAVE TO USE THE HIGHT BEAM WHEN I'M DRIVING AT NIGHT, THIS IS ALSO ANOTHER SAFETY ISSUE WHICH AFFECTS THE THE OTHER DRIVES BUT WE HAVE TO, OTHERWISE WE COULD HIT SOMEBODY.
THIS IS A KNOWN PROBLEM WITH 2013-2015 ALTIMAS. THE HEADLAMP PROJECTOR BOWLS DETERIORATE AND DO NOT PROJECT THE LIGHT CAUSING A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE BECAUSE YOU CANNOT SEE THE ROAD AHEAD. NISSAN IS DOING NOTHING ABOUT IT. I HAVE HAD TO REPLACE THE EXPENSIVE BULBS TWICE WITH BRIGHTER BULBS AND THIS DID NOT RECTIFY THE PROBLEM. THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL!!!!!
TL* THE CONTACT'S DAUGHTER-IN-LAW OWNS A 2014 NISSAN ALTIMA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING DOWN A SIDE STREET SHE HEARD A POPPING NOISE AND HAD TROUBLE STEERING THE VEHICLE. AN UNKNOWN WARNING LIGHT FLASHED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE CONTACT TEST DROVE THE VEHICLE AND WHILE ATTEMPTING TO REVERSE, THE REAR WHEEL COLLAPSED UNDER THE WEIGHT OF THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT BELIEVED THAT IT WAS THE REAR LOWER CONTROL ARM THAT WAS FRACTURED. NISSAN 112 (730 MEDFORD AVE, PATCHOGUE, NY 11772, (631) 417-3236) STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY OR RECALL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 79,000.
The contact owns a 2014 Nissan Altima. The contact stated that when headlights were activated, the illumination was very dim. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer to diagnosed; however, the mechanic was unable to determine the cause of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 100,000.
DRIVING SLOW IN A 25MPH NEIGHBORHOOD MADE A TURN HEARD A CLUNK THOUGHT I HAD A FLAT TURNED AROUND LESS THAN A 1/2 A MILE BACK HOME LESS THAN A BLOCK. HAD I MADE IT TO THE FREEWAY THE RESULTS COULD'VE BEEN MUCH WORSE. CALLED MY MECHANIC AND HE ORDERED A PART, DECIDED TO LOOK AND IT SEEMS THIS MAY BE A PROBLEM WITH THESE CARS

THE TRACTION CONTROL WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT VEERED TO THE SHOULDER AND CALLED ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC AND INSPECTED ON THE FLAT BED TRUCK. THE MECHANIC NOTICED THAT THE REAR DRIVER'S SIDE LOWER CONTROL ARM WAS FRACTURED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. RON BOUCHARD'S NISSAN (490 OLD UNION TPKE, LANCASTER, MA 01523) WAS CONTACTED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THERE WERE NO RECALLS ON THE VIN. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DRIVABLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT TO CONTACT NHTSA TO LOG A COMPLAINT. THE CONTACT REFERENCED NHTSA ACTION NUMBER: EA19002 (SUSPENSION) OPEN INVESTIGATION FOR THE SIMILARITY IN THE FAILURES STATED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 101,000.
I HAVE BEEN HAVING TROUBLE WITH MY HEADLIGHTS. THEY ARE EXTREMELY TOO DIM. I CAN BARELY SEE AT NIGHT. MY BRIGHT LIGHTS WORK GREAT. SOMETIMES I FEEL AS IF THEY ARE NOT ON. I HAVE CHANGED THE BULBS SEVERAL TIMES. IT IS MUCH DIMMER ON THE DRIVER SIDE THAN THE PASSENGER, BUT THE PASSENGER SIDE HEADLIGHT IS STILL DIM. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE. I'M NOT SURE WHAT TO DO NOW. I'M NOT SURE WHY THIS HAS NOT BEEN RECALLED BY NOW. SOMEONE WILL MOST DEFINITELY GET INTO AN ACCIDENT. I HAVE ALMOST WRECKED SEVERAL TIMES BECAUSE OF THIS. THIS NEED TO BE A MAIN CONCERN FOR NISSAN. THEY ARE RISKING OUR LIVES. HOW MANY BULBS DO I HAVE TO CHANGE? ON DARK ROADS I HAVE TO PUT MY BRIGHT LIGHTS ON BUT WHEN ANOTHER VEHICLE IS COMING THEN I HAVE TO CUT MY BRIGHT LIGHTS OFF. WHEN I DO THIS THEN I FEEL AS IF I'M GOING TO GO OFF THE ROAD. I CANNOT SEE AT ALL. THIS IS A VERY IMPORTANT PROBLEM AND NEED TO BE ADDRESSED IMMEDIATELY. I'M PRETTY SURE THAT THERE HAS BEEN ACCIDENTS BECAUSE OF THIS. I HAD TO PUT A DATE ON THIS BUT THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON SINCE LAST YEAR. I'M A NURSE AND I HAVE TO LEAVE EARLY IN THE AM FOR WORK ON A DARK ROAD. THIS IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS.
THE CONSTANT VELOCITY TRANSMISSION (CVT) DIED WHILE DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEED. THIS FAILURE OF THE CVT IS PREMATURE AT LESS THAN SERVICE LIFE OF THE VEHICLE. CVT FAILURES FROM RESEARCH ARE QUITE TO COMMON TO BE AN ANOMOLY
CONTROL ARM/REAR SUSPENSION LOWER LINK RUSTED OUT AND LOST CONTROL OF THE CAR ON THE TACONIC STATE PARKWAY. NO INJURIES.NISSAN HAS BEEN AWARE OF THIS ISSUE SINCE 2103. WONT REPLACE AS THEY STATE CAR HAS TOO MANY MILES WHICH HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH RUSTING OUT. IT STATES ON THEIR WEBSITE A SERVICE CAMPAIGN AGREEING THAT SEVERE CORROSION OCCURS IN STATES WITH HIGH ROAD SALT USAGE AND NEW YORK IS ONE OF THESE STATES. WHY ISNT THIS A RECALL? SHAME ON NISSAN. HAD WE BEEN ALERTED TO THIS SERVICE CAMPAIGN WE WOULD HAVE HAD IT INSPECTED ON A REGULAR BASIS TO AVOID THIS MISHAP. NISSAN ALSO STATED SINCE THE CAR WAS NOT TOTALED, THEY WILL DO NOTHING. PLEASE ALERT ANYONE WHO OWNS A NISSAN ALTIMA TO BE AWARE! WE WILL BE FIXING THIS CONTROL ARM AT OUR EXPENSE AS WELL AS THE OTHER CONTROL ARM AT OUR EXPENSE SO THAT THIS WILL MAKE THE CAR SAFE AND TO AVOID A MAJOR ACCIDENT OR DEATH. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 NISSAN ALTIMA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT HER FRONT HEAD LIGHTS FAILED TO ILLUMINATE PROPERLY WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS BEING DRIVEN. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE BEAM PROJECTED FROM THE HEAD LIGHTS WERE INADEQUATE TO SEE THE ROADWAY WHILE DRIVING IN LOW LIGHT CONDITIONS. MAUS NISSAN OF NEW PORT RICHEY (3939 US-19, NEW PORT RICHEY, FL 34652, (727) 999-6287) WAS CONTACTED INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS NOT UNDER RECALL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE THE VEHICLE WAS DIAGNOSED AND IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 89,000.
MY HOOD LATCH DOES NOT CLOSE LIKE IT SHOULD. THE WHEELS ARE SHOWING TO HAVE A WHEEL BEARING PROBLEM. POPS WHEN PRESS ON BRAKES AND TURNING. ALSO MADE A BIG "BANG" NOISE.
ON 9/9/2020 MY WIFE WAS DRIVING OUR 2014 NISSAN ALTIMA HOME FROM AN ERRAND WHEN SHE FELT THAT THE STEERING WAS COMPROMISED. AFTER ARRIVING HOME SHE ASKED ME TO DRIVE THE CAR. I PROCEEDED TO BACK OUT OF OUR DRIVEWAY AND AFTER TRAVELING ONLY ABOUT 6' THE DRIVER REAR WHEEL 'DROPPED'. BEFORE EXITING THE VEHICLE I TOLD HER THAT IT FELT LIKE THE WHEEL HAD FALLEN OFF. I CRAWLED UNDER THE VEHICLE AND FOUND THAT THE REAR DRIVER CONTROL ARM HAD COMPLETELY RUSTED THROUGH CAUSING THE PART TO FAIL. I SPOKE TO NISSAN CONSUMER AFFAIRS AND LEARNED THAT THERE WAS NOT AN OPEN RECALL FOR THE 2014 ALTIMA BUT THERE WAS FOR THE 2013 ALTIMA. I THEN DECIDED TO INVESTIGATE ON THE NATIONAL HIGHWAY TRAFFIC SAFETY ADMINISTRATION WEBSITE. I LEARNED THAT THE 2013-2018 CONTROL ARM SHARE A SIMILAR DESIGN WHEN FURTHER READING NHTSA ACTION NUMBER EA 19002. I ALSO DISCOVERED THAT THERE WAS RECALL FOR THE 2014 ALTIMA IN CANADA AND WE LIVE 17 MILES FROM THE CANADIAN BORDER. I FEEL THAT THE RECALL FOR THIS PART SHOULD BE EXPANDED TO INCLUDE MODEL YEAR 2014-2018 BECAUSE OF THE SHARED DESIGN.
WHEN I AM IDLE AT A RED LIGHT AND GET READY TO TAKE OFF, I STEP ON THE GAS AND THE RPM HAND MOVES HOWEVER,T HE VEHICLE DOESN'T AND THEN IT SUDDENLY JUMPS TO TAKE OFF. MANY TIMES I WAS ALMOST REAR ENDED BECAUSE OF THE DELAY OF THE VEHICLE NOT MOVING AND MY FOOT IS OFF THE BREAK. DRIVERS WOULD ASSUME I AM GOING.
FOR SEVERAL MONTHS THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG INDICATOR LIGHT HAS BEEN WORKING INTERMITTENTLY. SOMETIMES THE LIGHT SHOWS UNOCCUPIED WHEN AN ADULT IS SITTING IN THE PASSENGERS SEAT. I DON'T KNOW IF THE AIRBAG IS WORKING PROPERLY OR NOT. I TOOK MY VEHICLE INTO THE NISSAN DEALER IN LEESBURG, FL LAST WEEK FOR ROUTINE SERVICE AND TOLD THEM ABOUT THE PROBLEM. THEY PERFORMED A DIAGNOSTIC TEST AND DID NOT FIND ANY FAULT CODES. THEY THEN GOT IN AND OUT OF THE SEAT SEVERAL TIMES AND SAID THE AIRBAG LIGHT DISPLAYED PROPERLY. THE NEXT DAY WITH AN ADULT PASSENGER IN THE SEAT THE LIGHT AGAIN SHOWED UNOCCUPIED. WHY HASN'T THERE BEEN A RECALL REGARDING THIS PROBLEM.

THIS IS A KNOWN PROBLEM WITH THE TRANSMISSION. THEY DID NOT REIMBURSE OR FIX AT NO CHARGE. NOW MY POWER STEERING WENT OUT. THIS IS THE WORST CAR I EVER BOUGHT.
TRANSMISSION 1ST GEAR OR 2 GEAR DELAYS SHIFT AND SHUTS DOWN . SOON AS I PULL OFF MY ENGINE OR TRANSMISSION DOES THIS LOUD GRINDING NOISE AND STOPS MOVING
THE SYSTEM THAT DETERMINES WHETHER THE PASSENGER AIRBAG WILL DEPLOY ON MY VEHICLE IS NOT FUNCTIONING AND IS DEFAULTING THE AIRBAG TO NOT DEPLOY. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO MY DEALER FOR A QUOTE AND WAS TOLD IT WILL COST UP TO $1,800.00 TO FIX. I KNOW THERE HAS BEEN AT LEAST ONE RECALL PERTAINING TO THIS SYSTEM ALREADY (RECALL NUMBER 15V681000). I ALSO ASKED IF THERE WAS A WAY TO HAVE THE AIRBAG ALWAYS SET TO DEPLOY BUT WAS TOLD THAT WAS NOT POSSIBLE. AN $1,800.00 FIX FOR A CRITICAL SAFETY FEATURE IS A HAZARD THAT WILL DRIVE PEOPLE TO ACCEPT UNDUE RISK. A RECALL FOR AFFECTED NISSAN VEHICLES TO REPLACE THE SYSTEM OR WHICH WOULD DEFAULT THE AIRBAGS TO DEPLOY WOULD MITIGATE THE RISK TO THE POPULATION.
THE DRIVER SIDE LOW BEAM HEADLIGHT IS SIGNIFICANTLY DIMMER THAN THE PASSENGER SIDE ONE. I HAVE CHANGED MULTIPLE BULBS AND NONE CAN FIX THE DIMNESS BEING EXPERIENCED. I SUSPECT THIS ISSUE HAS SOMETHING TO DO WITH THE HOUSING AND I KNOW OTHER OWNERS OF THE SAME MODEL THAT HAVE THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM. PS, I'M NOT THE FIRST OWNER OF THE CAR AND I'VE SEEN THIS ISSUE SINCE PURCHASE. SO I'LL SET THE DATE TO TODAY'S DATE.
2014 NISSAN ALTIMA 2.5SL AIRBAG LIGHT CAME ON AND STAYS ON
THE RIGHT REAR CONTROL ARM BROKE ON MY VEHICLE WITHOUT WARNING. I WAS UNABLE TO CONTROL THE CAR. FORTUNATELY, I WAS ONLY ON A 30 MPH ROAD AT THE TIME. IF I HAD BEEN DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY, I MOST LIKELY WOULD HAVE BEEN SERIOUSLY INJURED OR POSSIBLY KILLED. THERE WAS A RECALL/REPLACEMENT PROGRAM IN CANADA FOR THIS TYPE OF ISSUE ON THE 2014 NISSAN ALTIMA, BUT NOTHING IN THE U.S. THE REPAIR COST ME $730 DUE TO HAVING TO DROP THE REAR SUSPENSION IN ORDER TO REPLACE THIS PART WHICH MADE THE JOB LABOR INTENSIVE. I FEEL THAT THIS TYPE OF ISSUE SHOULD ALSO BE COVERED IN THE U.S.
