TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 NISSAN ALTIMA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG INDICATED THAT THE PASSENGER SIDE SEAT WAS OCCUPIED WHEN THERE WAS NO OCCUPANT. PRIOR TO THE FAILURE, THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE AIR BAG SENOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 19,875.
THE VEHICLE "HIGH CENTERED" AT VARIOUS PLACES ON SPEED HUMPS, SOME OF WHICH REQUIRED BACKING UP TO SPARE WORSE AFFECTS. EARLY DAMAGE IS INEVITABLE, AND UNSAFE, AND COSTLY. FREQUENTLY THE VEHICLE SCRAPES AT PARKING BARRIERS AND CURBS. IN NO WAY CAN IT BE DRIVEN ON A PASTURE ROAD OF RUTS AND CENTER RIDGED ELEVATIONS, BOTH FOR "HIGH CENTERING" AND CATCHING PLANT LIFE ON FIRE DUE TO DRAGGING THE VEHICLE BOTTOM ON THE CENTER RIDGE. THE REAR CAMERA IS MORE DISTRACTING THAN BENEFICIAL, SINCE ABOUT FIVE VIEWS MUST BE MADE WHEN MOVING IN REVERSE, AND THE CAMERA VIEW, THE 6TH, IS SO INCONCLUSIVE.
CAR WAS PURCHASED NEW IN LATE APRIL 2015. WHEN I OPENED THE TRUNK OF THE VEHICLE FOR THE FIRST TIME, I NOTICED THERE WAS RUST IN THE SPOT WELDS ON THE LEFT SIDE OF THE TRUNK. FRONT BUMPER ALSO STARTED TO POP OUT ON BOTH SIDES AFTER DRIVING IT THE FIRST DAY AND IS RUBBING AND PEELING PAINT FROM FRAME OF VEHICLE. REAR WINDSHIELD WAS PUSHED ALL THE WAY TO THE LEFT WITH A LARGE GAP TO THE RIGHT. THIS IS A BIG SAFETY ISSUE. FRONT FASCIA MISALIGNED FROM FACTORY AND RUST EATING AWAY AT MAIN FRAME OF VEHICLE DESPITE THERE BEING NO SCRATCHES OR DAMAGE TO VEHICLE. BOTH SIDE SKIRTS MISALIGNED. ALL DOORS SIGNIFICANTLY MISALIGNED FROM FACTORY. POWER STEERING WHINES AND TRANSMISSION GROANS AND SHIFTS ERRATICALLY. CAR DOES NOT DRIVE STRAIGHT AT SPEEDS 55+ AND WANDERS BETWEEN LANES. IT TAKES MUCH EFFORT TO KEEP IT STRAIGHT. TRUNK LID NOT ALIGNED PROPERLY. BBB MANDATED NISSAN TO REPURCHASE VEHICLE AND BRAND IT AS A LEMON DUE TO SERIOUS SAFETY DEFECTS & NON-CONFORMITIES. NISSAN FAILED TO FIX REAR WINDSHIELD AFTER ONE ATTEMPT AND FAILED TO FIX OTHER ISSUES AFTER 3 REPAIR ATTEMPTS. CAR HAS BEEN AT DEALERSHIP FOR 28+ DAYS. NISSAN FAILED TO CALCULATE CORRECT REPURCHASE NUMBERS AND NISSAN STILL REFUSES TO FIX VEHICLE. AFTER MY PROTESTING, NISSAN REPAIRED REAR WINDSHIELD BUT STRUCTURALLY, THE REST OF THE CAR REMAINS A SAFETY ISSUE. AN INVESTIGATION SHOULD BE LAUNCHED. I REQUEST NHSTA TO INSPECT THE QUALITY AND BUILD OF THIS VEHICLE AS IT ENDANGERS MY SAFETY AND THOSE OF OTHER DRIVERS AROUND ME. I AM STILL IN POSSESSION OF THIS VEHICLE.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 NISSAN ALTIMA. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 65 MPH, THE VEHICLE DRIFTED LEFT OR RIGHT WITHOUT WARNING, WHICH MADE IT DIFFICULT TO KEEP THE VEHICLE STRAIGHT. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE BECAME MORE SEVERE IN WINDY CONDITIONS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER, BUT THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE DETERMINED. THE DEALER STATED THAT IN ORDER TO STEER THE VEHICLE, THEIR HANDS NEEDED TO BE LOCATED ON THE BOTTOM OF THE STEERING WHEEL IN ORDER TO BETTER STEER THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 16,500....UPDATED 09/14/16 *BF *CN
I believe the headlights need to be recalled & re-done due to you cannot see to drive the car very well at all at night. I purchased this car in April 2021 & I have had this issue since I bought this car. I have had it inspected by the dealership auto garage & they did check & said there was no recalls in the headlights so I would like the whole headlight be replaced before I have a major accident due to not being able to see the road ways at night. There are no warning lights on so this is just a poor design in the headlights! Please replace!!!!!
THIS CAR WAS PURCHASED NEW IN EXCHANGE FOR A 2015 NISSAN ALTIMA THAT HAD SERIOUS ISSUES WITH THE POWER STEERING COMPONENTS. THIS CAR SEEMS ONE STEP WORSE THAN THE ONE I JUST TRADED. HEATED STEERING WHEEL DOES NOT WORK. POWER STEERING GROWLS WHEN THE TRANSMISSION IS PUT INTO GEAR AND WHINES WITH A HIGH-PITCHED NOISE THAT CAN BE HEARD VERY CLEARLY IN THE CABIN WHEN THE WHEEL IS TURNED. ENGINE IS NOISY. THERE IS ALSO A SHIMMY IN THE STEERING COLUMN WHEN THE CAR EXCEEDS SPEEDS OVER 40 MPH. APPOINTMENT MADE WITH DEALER WITH A NISSAN REPRESENTATIVE (REQUESTED BY ME). POOR MANUFACTURE AND DESIGN OF VEHICLE. NISSAN HAS INNOVATION THAT IS DISAPPOINTING, TO SAY THE LEAST. IF NISSAN IS UNABLE TO REPAIR VEHICLE PROPERLY, I WILL TRADE VEHICLE FOR A SUBARU AND NEVER PURCHASE ANOTHER NISSAN AGAIN DUE TO POOR DESIGN AND SAFETY ISSUES. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 NISSAN ALTIMA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT 70 MPH, THE VEHICLE LOST POWER AND SHIFTED INTO NEUTRAL INDEPENDENTLY. IN ADDITION, THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED AND THE VEHICLE FAILED TO ACCELERATE BUT INCREASED IN RPMS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE RECURRED ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 1,767.
THE DASHBOARD/CENTER CONSOLE AREA HAS HIGHLY REFLECTIVE/SHINY PLASTIC, THAT REFLECTS THE SUN INTO THE DRIVERS AND PASSENGERS EYES, TEMPORARILY BLINDING THEM A LARGE AREA OF THE CENTER CONSOLE IS HIGHLY REFLECTIVE, EVERYTHING AROUND THE STEREO CONTROLS AND UPPER CENTER VENTS.. THIS IS A HAZARD, AND NOT FOUND ON MANY OTHER MANUFACTURERS . *TR

WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE CONTACT'S VISION WAS IMPAIRED BY A REFLECTION OF THE DASHBOARD IN THE FRONT WINDSHIELD AND THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDE MIRRORS. THE PASSENGER AIR BAG SOMETIME WILL TURN OFF, WHILE PEOPLE STILL SITTING IN THE FRONT SEAT. THE SENSOR OF THE PASSENGER AIR BAG IS JUST NOT SENSITIVE ENOUGH WITH LIGHT WEIGHT ADULT WEIGHT LESS 120LBS. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2015 NISSAN ALTIMA. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 55 MPH, THE DRIVER LOST CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. IT TRAVELED DOWN A HILL BEFORE CRASHING INTO A TREE. THE DRIVER'S SEAT AIR BAG DID NOT DEPLOY. THE DRIVER SUFFERED CONTUSIONS, ABRASIONS, AND LACERATIONS TO THE LEFT HIP AND PELVIS AREA AND AN INJURED LEFT LEG THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 2,700.
`DRIVING FROM A CUSTOMER BUSINESS MY RED LIGHT FOR SUPPLEMENTAL AIR BAG CAME ON . I TOOK THE CAR TO THE LOCAL DEALER AND THEY DIAGNOSED AND ORDERED A AIR BAG MODULE. WHEN PART CAME IN ON APRIL 13TH 2015 WITH MILES OF 11276 DEALER REP SAID THAT THE MODULE DID NOT TURN RED LIGHT OFF. SERVICE ORDERED A DRIVER AIR BAG MODULE AND INSTALLED THIS ON MILES 11738, APRIL 17TH,2015, RED LIGHT STILL ON. INFORMED ME THERE IS ONLY ONE MORE PART THEY CAN PUT ON IT IS CALLED A NEW CABLE..CAR IS NEW AND UNDER WARRANTY, BOOK SAYS IF LIGHT IS RED THAT THE AIR BAGS WILL NOT DEPLOY, CALLED SERVICE ON AFTERNOON OF APRIL 17TH AND SUGGESTED THEY GIVE A LOANER TO ME IF THIS CAR WAS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE . SERVICE SAID IT WAS SAFE, JUST THAT THE LIGHT IS ON.I DRIVE 100- 300 MILES A DAY IN THIS CAR AND IF THE RED LIGHT IS ON THE SERVICE MANUAL SAYS THIS IS DANGEROUS, HOWEVER THE DEALER REFUSES TO OFFER A LOANER CAR, SERVICE REP SAID THE AIR BAGS WOULD STILL WORK AND THAT THE LIGHT JUST WILL NOT GO OFF. I HAVE TAKEN THIS CAR IN THREE TIMES IN THREE WEEKS AND THE LIGHT IS STILL RED..I AM TO TAKE THIS BACK NEXT WEEK TO HAVE A CABLE INSTALLED AS PER INVOICE.. *TR

THE VEHICLE JERKED AND STOPPED QUICKLY REGARDLESS OF THE AMOUNT OF PRESSURE TO THE BRAKE PEDAL. THE DEALER DIAGNOSED THAT THE BRAKE PADS FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 39,000.
PURCHASED CAR NEW. I PREVIOUSLY OWNED A 2014 NISSAN ALTIMA WITH NO ISSUES. POWER STEERING ON CAR WAS VERY NOISY AT ALL TIMES. IT SOUNDED LIKE A HIGH-PITCHED DENTIST'S DRILL THAT ONLY GETS WORSE WHEN WHEEL IS TURNED. NOT SURE HOW LONG ELECTRIC POWER STEERING SYSTEM WILL LAST. AFTER THREE WEEKS, DEALER AGREED TO ACCEPT CAR BACK AND SWAP IT FOR ANOTHER ONE. APPARENTLY, THERE IS NO FIX FOR THIS. DEGRADATION IN QUALITY AND SAFETY IS NOTED ON THE 2015 NISSAN ALTIMA.WILL NEVER PURCHASE ANOTHER NISSAN AGAIN. *TR
SINCE ORIGINAL PURCHASE (NEW) 11/30/14, THE PASSENGER AIRBAG INDICATOR SYSTEM HAS NOT WORKED CORRECTLY. 3 COMPLAINTS ( ON SITE, IN WRITING) THRU NISSAN DEALER HAVE NOT CORRECTED PROBLEM. QUESTION IS, WILL PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG WORK IF IN A COLLISION? MALFUNCTION MAY RESULT IN MAJOR INJURY OR DEATH. DEALERS ONLY EXPLANATION IS TO WAIT 15 SECONDS BEFORE DRIVING WITH A PASSENGER. INDICATOR SYSTEM WORKS AND FAILS INDISCRIMINATELY.
I CAME TOO A STOP SIGN. I PROCEEDED TO MAKE A RIGHT TURN AS I ACCELERATED I HEARD WHAT SOUNDED LIKE A GUNSHOT. THE SUNROOF APPARENTLY EXPLODED AND IT RAINED GLASS ON ME. I WAS SHOCKED I PULLED OVER AND LOOKED THROUGHOUT CAR LOOKING FOR A OBJECT THINKING IT WAS THROWN AT THE CAR. I EXITED LOOKED FOR PHYSICAL DAMAGE BESIDES THE SHATTERED ROOF. NOTHING WAS SCRATCHED OR DENTED. I LOOKED AT THE ROOF I NOTICED THE GLASS SHATTERED UPWARD. IT LOOKED LIKE IT EXPLODED INSIDE OUT. I LOOKED UP ONLINE AND SEE THIS HAPPENS MORE THEN I THOUGHT. *TR
WHILE DRIVING ALONE ON 03/12/2015 NOTICED THE AIRBAG AUXILIARY LIGHT COME ON IN MY NEW 2015 NISSAN ALTIMA. THE ALTIMA WAS SERVICED FOR THIS ON 03/18/2015 AND THE LIGHT WAS RESET WITH THE TECHNICIAN STATING THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG SENSOR WAS UNDER RECALL. THEN, WHILE DRIVING ON 03/22/2015 THE AIRBAG AUXILIARY LIGHT CAME ON ONCE AGAIN, ALSO WHEN I WAS THE ONLY OCCUPANT IN THE VEHICLE. THE ALTIMA WAS SERVICED AGAIN FOR THIS ISSUE ON 03/25/2015 WHERE THE TECHNICIAN STATED OBJECTS LEFT ON THE PASSENGER SEAT (LAPTOP BAGS, ETC.) CAN CAUSE THE SENSOR TO GO OFF AND THAT IT'S A KNOWN ISSUE. THEY RECOMMENDED TO NOT PUT ANYTHING ONTO THE PASSENGER SEAT ASIDE FROM AN ADULT PERSON. ALTHOUGH I HAVE PLACED A BAG ONTO THE PASSENGER SEAT A COUPLE OF TIMES WHILE DRIVING, THE AIRBAG AUXILIARY LIGHT NEVER CAME ON WHILE ANYTHING OR ANYONE WAS IN THE PASSENGER SEAT. THEN AGAIN TODAY, 03/26/2015, THE AIRBAG AUXILIARY LIGHT CAME BACK ON IN MY 2015 NISSAN ALTIMA WHILE I WAS DRIVING WITH NOTHING/NO ONE IN THE PASSENGER SEAT. *TR
I PARKED THE CAR FOR A FEW MINUTES LEFT IT IDLING. WHEN I RETURNED, STRAPPED MY CHILD IN THE CAR SEAT THEN GOT IN WAITING FOR HER MOTHER. WHEN SHE GOT IN PULLED OUT OF THE SPOT THE CAR HESITATED TO ACCELERATE, I DROVE A FEW MILES IN WHAT I GOT TO KNOW AS LIMP MODE TRYING TO UNDERSTAND WHAT'S GOING ON. WHEN WE REACHED DESTINATION, TURN CAR OFF AND THEN BACK ON IT WAS FINE. RETURNED THEM HOME THEN ON MY WAY HOME IT HAPPENED AGAIN. I DIAGNOSED THE CAR AND GOT P0776 SOLENOID STUCK/OFF. IT SEEMS THESE CARS HAVE AN ISSUE NOT BEING ADDRESSED I JUST BUY THE CAR WITH 68000 MILES IF THIS HAPPENS AGAIN I'M GOING TO THE DEALER AND THEY BETTER FIX IT AT NO COST TO ME OR GIVE ME ANOTHER CAR I DON'T NEED EXPENSIVE PROBLEMS. WHY HASN'T THESE CAR BEEN RECALLED. CLEARLY THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE.
EXTREMELY LOW VISBILITY. BO MATTER HOW MANY TIMESBIVE CHANGED OR ADJUSTING MY HEADLIGHTS/BULBS THERE IS NO IMPROVEMENT AT ALL. I FINALLY CHANGED THE ENTIRE HEADLIGHT ITSELF AND NOW I CAN FINALLY SEE 2 FEET IN FRONT OF WHEN ITS DARK OUT. NISSAN USED HORRIBLE QUALITY HEADLIGHTS AT THE COST OF DRIVER SAFETY.
OCS SEAT SYSTEM SAME PROBLEM OVER AND OVER PASSENGER SEAT OCCUPIED INDICATOR LIGHT STILL ON
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 NISSAN ALTIMA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DRIVER SIDE AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT WAS ILLUMINATED. THE WARNING CHIME TO LATCH THE SEAT BELT DID NOT SOUND. BOTH FAILURES BEGAN WHEN THE AIR CONDITIONING STOPPED WORKING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER MULTIPLE TIMES FOR THE FAILURE. THE MECHANIC RESET THE AIR BAG LIGHTS THREE TIMES AND REPAIRED THE AIR CONDITIONER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 22.
THIS VEHICLE WAS LEASED NEW ON DEC, 2, 2014 FROM A NISSAN DEALER LOCATED IN WASHINGTON, PA. THE VEHICLE HAS HAD A BURNING AND SULFUR ODOR SINCE DAY ONE AND THE SULFUR ODOR IS GETTING WORSE. THE VEHICLE IS RATED FOR 38 MPG HIGHWAY AND 27 MPH CITY. THE VEHICLE MPG IS GROWING WORSE AND IT GETS ABOUT 24 MPG AS I WRITE THIS. VEHICLE WAS TAKEN IN FOR SERVICE TO DETERMINE THESE ISSUES AND I WAS TOLD NO PROBLEMS FOUND. IT WAS SUGGESTED TO ME TO TRY OTHER FUEL STATIONS AND TO KEEP IN MIND GAS IS NOW CHEAP! CONTACTED NISSAN USA SEVERAL TIMES WHERE YOU SPEAK TO PEOPLE WHO REFUSE TO GIVE OUT THEIR LAST NAME AND I WAS TOLD THE SELLING DEALER WILL NOT LOOK AT THE CAR ANY FURTHER SO I ASK FOR NISSAN TO BUY IT BACK. AS OF 2/6/15 I AM WAITING FOR A RESPONSE FROM NISSAN USA. I MADE AN APPOINTMENT WITH ANOTHER NISSAN DEALER AND THEY HAVE AGREED TO INVESTIGATE MY COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE SULFUR ODOR AND VERY POOR MPG. MY WIFE HAS A ALLERGY TO SULFUR AND CANNOT DRIVE THIS VEHICLE BECAUSE SHE NEVER KNOWS WHEN THE SULFUR ODOR WILL FILL THE CABIN AND SHE THEN HAS TO PULL OFF THE ROAD, OPEN THE WINDOWS. THE LAST TIME SHE WAS OPERATING THE VEHICLE ON AN INTERSTATE HIGHWAY (01/31/15) THE CAR BEGIN EMITTING A VERY STRONG SULFUR ODOR AND SHE HAD TO PULL OFF AND GET OUT OF THE CAR. THE SELLING DEALER REFUSES TO PROVIDE SERVICE OR ASSIST IN ANY MANNER. NISSAN USA IS BACKING UP THE DEALER. THIS IS HOW NISSAN TREATS AN CUSTOMER WHO HAS OWNED/LEASED 8 NISSAN VEHICLES! *JS
ON JAN 22, 2015 , I TEST DROVE A BEAUTIFUL 2015 NISSAN ALTIMA, THE SPEED DURING TEST DRIVE DID NOT EXCEED 45MPH AND THE DRIVE WAS SMOOTH AND WITHOUT INCIDENT. I DECIDED TO BUY THE VEHICLE AND TRADES A NISSAN 2012 ALTIMA WITH LOW MILEAGE AND NO MECHANICAL PROBLEMS. ON THE WAY HOME , ON THE FLORIDA TURNPIKE I NOTICED A DRIFTING FROM LEFT TO RIGHT WITH NO EASY TRANSITION BACK TO CENTER LANE. THE WHEEL WAS PULLING TO THE LEFT AND THEN WOULD SORT OF HANG UP WHEN I TRIED TO RETURN TO CENTER LANE. EACH TIME IT WENT LEFT, WHEN I TRIED TO RETURN TO CENTER LANE IT WOULD OVER COMPENSATE AND DRIFT TO THE RIGHT. THIS SHIFTING OCCURRED THROUGHOUT THE RIDE HOME WHICH IS APPROXIMATELY 12 MILES OF TURNPIKE AT A SPEED OF 70MPH. I TOOK THE VEHICLE BACK RIGHT AWAY AND 2 MORE TIMES AFTER THAT, THE LAST TIME THE STEERING ALMOST CAUSED AN ACCIDENT AT 70MPH ON THE TURNPIKE. I CONTACTED THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY AGAIN SAID VEHICLE IS IN TOLERANCE AND NOTHING CAN BE DONE. I CONTACTED CONSUMER AFFAIRS FOR NISSAN AND THEY ALSO COULD NOT HELP, SINCE THE DEALERSHIP SAID THE VEHICLE IS IN TOLERANCE. OTHER FAMILY MEMBERS HAVE DRIVEN AND CONFIRM MY FEARS THAT THE VEHICLE IS NOT SAFE. *TR
REGARDING MY 2015 NISSAN ALTIMA...THE HEADLAMPS ARE A SAFETY HAZARD. FAR TOO DIM! I AM CONSTANTLY ASKED BY PASSENGERS IF I HAVE MY LIGHTS ON. TO BE SAFE, I NEED TO USE MY HIGH BEAMS; WHICH IN ITSELF IS NOT SAFE, HOWEVER SINCE ONCOMING DRIVERS RARELY FLASH THEIR HIGH BEAMS BACK AT ME, I ASSUME THEY AREN'T VERY BRIGHT EITHER. COMPLAINTS LIKE THIS FOR THIS CAR ARE ALL OVER THE INTERNET AND I HAVE A HARD TIME BELIEVING IT HASN'T BEEN BROUGHT TO YOUR ATTENTION. THERE NEEDS TO BE A RECALL ON THIS. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE. THIS ISN'T A MATTER OF CHANGING THE BULBS. I'M NO MECHANIC, BUT IT SEEMS TO BE A PROJECTOR ISSUE CAUSING MANY OWNERS TO REPLACE THE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY. SINCE THIS ISN'T A COSMETIC ISSUE, BUT SAFETY, WHY HAS THIS NOT BEEN RECALLED? IT SEEMS TO AFFECT 2013 THROUGH 2015 MODELS THE MOST. SINCE THERE IS NO DATE TO REPORT, AND THIS FORM REQUIRED ONE FOR COMPLETION, I AM PUTTING JANUARY 1ST 2015 AS A DATE.
I WAS DRIVING MY 2015 NISSAN ALTIMA ON THE ROAD AND THERE WAS HEAVY TRAFFIC SO IT WAS SORT OF STOP AND GO AND LOTS OF IDLING. EACH TIME I PRESSED ON THE GAS, IT SEEMS THE CAR HESITATED TO GO. AFTER I GOT TO MY DESTINATION, I THEN DROVE ONTO INTERSTATE 85 IN GASTONIA, NORTH CAROLINA AND THE CAR STARTED MAKING A LOUD WHISTLING NOISE AND WOULD NOT ACCELERATE. THE DRIVE SHAFT ALSO STARTED SHAKING REALLY BAD. THE CAR STALLED AS I WAS DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE AND I WAS ABLE TO PULL OFF AND THE CAR COASTED OFF THE HIGHWAY. THE CAR STOPPED ON ME. I ATTEMPTED TO CONTACT THE DEALERSHIP THAT I PURCHASED THE CAR TO GET DIRECTION ON WHAT TO DO AND THEY WOULDN'T SPEAK TO ME OR RETURN MY CALLS. I ENDED UP CALLING NISSAN ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE IN RE THE CAR. THE GUY ASKED FOR MY VIN # AND I GAVE IT TO HIM AND HE IMMEDIATELY ASKED IF MY CAR'S ENGINE STALLED ON ME. I ADVISED THAT IT DID IN THE MIDST OF MY DRIVING WITH MY CHILDREN ON AN INTERSTATE. HE ADVISED THEY WOULD SEND A TOW TRUCK TO GET MY CAR BUT THERE WASN'T ANYTHING HE COULD DO FOR ME TO HAVE TRANSPORTATION AND I'D HAVE TO SPEAK WITH THE NEAREST DEALERSHIP TO SEE IF THEY COULD PROVIDE A LOANER. THE DEALERSHIP ENDED UP DIAGNOSING THIS AS A BAD TRANSMISSION IN THIS BRAND NEW CAR. I WANTED TO KNOW HOW THE ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE GUY KNEW THAT THIS CAR HAD STALLED ON ME PRIOR TO ME EXPLAINING THE PROBLEM. THE DEALERSHIP THAT REPAIRED IT ALSO ASKED ME IF I HAD HAD THIS PROBLEM 3 TIMES PRIOR. I HAD NOT. WHEN I PURCHASED THE CAR IT HAD 101 MILES ON IT AND I BELIEVE THIS CAR HAD PROBLEMS THAT THEY WERE AWARE OF AND THEY SOLD IT TO ME ANYWAY. I REQUESTED A REPLACEMENT VEHICLE FROM NISSAN CONSUMER AFFAIRS B/C I HAVE NO CONFIDENCE IN THIS CAR AS IT WAS A NEW CAR WITH A BAD TRANSMISSION AND I DO NOT TRUST IT'S SAFETY FOR MYSELF AND MY CHILDREN. I BELIEVE THAT THIS IS NOT A ONE TIME THING AND THIS HAS HAPPENED PREVIOUSLY. *JS
I JUST PURCHASED A 2015 ALTIMA SV WITH THE TECH PACKAGE. THIS INCLUDE SEVERAL SAFETY FEATURES, BUT THE ONE I WANTED MOST WAS THE BLIND SPOT WARNING SYSTEM. I DISCOVERED IN THE FIRST 2 WEEKS THAT WHEN IT WAS RAINING OR THE ROADS WERE WET, THE BSW COULD GIVE FALSE ALARMS LIKE A CAR WAS NEXT TO ME, WHEN THERE WAS NO OTHER CARS NEAR ME. I BROUGHT THE CAR TO THE DEALER TWICE FOR THIS AND ON THE SECOND TIME, I WAS HANDED A BULLETIN THAT SHOWS THE ISSUE. I WAS TOLD BY THE DEALER TO CONTACT NISSAN CUSTOMER SUPPORT FOR RESOLUTION. I JUST HEARD BACK FROM THEM ON 12/30/14 AND THEIR RESPONSE WAS THAT IT WAS WORKING AS DESIGNED. HOW CAN A SAFETY FEATURE THAT IS PART OF A 1000.00 PACKAGE BE DESIGNED TO GIVE FALSE ALARMS WHEN THE ROADS ARE WET. PLEASE INVESTIGATE AND HAVE HAVE NISSAN RESOLVE THIS ISSUE BEFORE IT CAUSES SOMEONE TO GET INTO AN ACCIDENT. THANKS. *JS
THE PASSENGER AIR BAG SENSOR INTERMITTENTLY DOES NOT SENSE A PASSENGER THEREFORE THE PASSENGER AIR BAG WARNING SYSTEM STAYS OFF. MY WORRY IS, IF IN AN ACCIDENT WILL MY WIFE OF 54 YEARS BE SAVED BY THE AIR BAG DEPLOYING OR NOT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN IN TO FUTURE NISSAN OF ROSEVILLE, ON 03/24/15, INSPECTED, STATED COULD NOT DUPLICATE PROBLEM. WE WERE TOLD NO RECALL OR REPORTS FROM OTHER OWNERS ARE KNOWN. THE PROBLEM IS STILL HAPPENING. WE HAVE HEARD OF THE SAME ISSUE OCCURRING WITH OTHERS. MY WIFE AND I ARE VERY CONCERNED WITH OUR SAFETY.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 NISSAN ALTIMA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE RODENTS WERE BITING THE WIRES INSIDE THE ENGINE. THE FAILURE OCCURRED ON THREE OCCASIONS. IN ADDITION, THE HEADLIGHT WIRING WAS DAMAGED DUE TO THE RODENTS. THE VEHICLE WAS N OT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 4,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
AFTER STARTING THE VEHICLE WHILE STILL STATIONARY, THE FRONT PASSENGER AIRBAG IS DISARMED DESPITE THERE BEING A PASSENGER IN THE SEAT. THE VEHICLE MUST BE RESTARTED FREQUENTLY UNTIL THE LIGHT INDICATES THE AIRBAG IS ARMED. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO THE DEALER ON TWO SEPARATE OCCASIONS BUT BOTH TIMES THEY FOUND NOTHING WRONG AND COULD ONLY RE-CALIBRATE THE SENSOR. IF SOMEONE WERE TO NOT NOTICE THE LIGHT IT COULD POTENTIALLY BE A DANGEROUS SITUATION FOR THE PASSENGER.
THE HEADLIGHTS ON THIS VEHICLE HAVE ALWAYS SUPPLIED POOR LIGHTING AND IT HAS GOTTEN WORSE EACH YEAR TO THE POINT NOW IT IS A SAFETY HAZARD WHEN DRIVING AT NIGHT. WE HAVE EVEN TRIED REPLACING THE BULBS AT OUR OWN EXPENSE WITH BRIGHTER ONES BUT IT DOES NOT HELP. ACCORDING TO STANHOPE NISSAN IT IS A COMMON COMPLAINT WITH THIS VEHICLE AND IT CAN ONLY BE RESOLVED BY REPLACING THE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLIES WHICH WOULD COST OVER $1000. WE HAVE AN EXTENDED WARRANTY BUT IT DOES NOT COVER IT. I TRIED CONTACTING NISSAN WITH THIS ISSUE AND THEY DON'T CARE. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL, PERIOD.
SINCE THE PURCHASE OF THE VEHICLE IN SEPT 2014, I HAVE HAD RECURRING ISSUES WITH THE PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG. WHEN MY DAUGHTER, WHO IS 5'9" AND WEIGHS 150 LBS IS IN THE SEAT THE "AIR BAG OFF" LIGHT WILL RANDOMLY ILLUMINATE. SHE IS NOT FIDGETING IN HER SEAT. SHE IS SITTING EVENLY IN THE SEAT AND NOT MOVING. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO THE NISSAN DEALER 4 TIMES. THE FIRST TWO TIMES THEY CLAIMED TO HAVE READ THE ERROR MESSAGES AND REPROGRAMMED IT. THE ISSUE CONTINUED, THE THIRD TIME IT WAS IN, THEY REPLACED THE SENSOR IN THE SEAT. THE PROBLEM PERSISTED AFTER THE SENSOR WAS REPLACED. I WAS THEN DIRECTED BY THE DEALER TO FILE A CLAIM WITH NISSAN. I DID SO AND THEY DISPATCHED A DEALER SERVICE TECHNICIAN TO EVALUATE THE CAR. HE CLAIMED THAT HE COULD NOT RECREATE THE ISSUE AND THAT THERE WAS NOTHING THAT NISSAN COULD DO. HIS REPORT INDICATED THAT THE "SYSTEM IS WORKING AS DESIGNED". I RECEIVED A COPY OF A TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN DATED AUGUST 29, 2014 WHICH STATES THAT OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION SYSTEM (OCS) RESPONDS TO DIFFERENT SEATING POSTURE AND MAY BE OPERATING NORMALLY. I WAS ALSO TOLD BY THE TECHNICIAN THAT IF IT HAPPENS TO HAVE THE PASSENGER GET OUT AND GET BACK IN TO RESET THE SYSTEM. I HAVE NEVER HAD A CAR WHERE THE PASSENGER HAD TO SIT A CERTAIN WAY OR GET OUT OF THE CAR TO MAKE THE AIR BAGS WORK PROPERLY!! I REQUESTED TO HAVE MY CASE ESCALATED TO THE NEXT LEVEL AND WAS TOLD THERE WAS NOT A NEXT LEVEL. THE SAFETY OF MY CHILDREN IS OF EXTREME IMPORTANCE TO ME AND I HAVE NO ASSURANCE THAT THE SYSTEM WILL WORK IF TESTED. UNFORTUNATELY, THE ONLY WAY TO TEST IT WOULD BE TO GET IN AN ACCIDENT. I DO NOT WANT TO TAKE THAT CHANCE!! I HAVE REQUESTED A BUY BACK FROM NISSAN AND AM AWAITING THEIR RESPONSE.

I'M AN ENGINEER AND I CAN ATTEST STRESS FRACTURE ON A GLASS DOESN'T GUARANTEE THAT THERE'S NO CHIP ON THE EDGE ALONG THE WAY. THIS LOOK LIKE A STRESS FRACTURE, OR WORKMANSHIP DEFECT. NHTSA, PLEASE INVESTIGATE THIS CAN LEAD INTO SERIOUS ACCIDENT IF IT HAPPENS WHILE DRIVING IN HIGHWAY. *TR

WHICH IS THE PROPER WEIGHT FOR SOMEONE HER SIZE. WHEN SHE SITS IN THE SEAT THE AIRBAG LIGHT REMAINS ON, TELLING US SHE IS NOT PROTECTED BY AIRBAGS. IF 40,000+ PEOPLE LIVES HAVE BEEN SAVED BY AIRBAGS, WHY DOES THE INDUSTRY ALLOW LIGHTER WEIGHT PASSENGERS TO NOT BE PROTECTED? IS THIS A RECALL ISSUE?

THE CONTACT WAS UNABLE TO DETERMINE FOR MONTHS AS TO WHEN THE PARTS WOULD BECOME AVAILABLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.
