I'VE MADE SOME RESEARCH AND I'M SURPRISED TO FIND OUT I'M NOT THE ONLY ONE THAT HAS THIS PROBLEM. SOMETIMES WITHOUT NOTICE THE BRAKE LIGHT COMES ON AS YOU TRY TO BRAKE YOU HEAR A LOUD GRINDING NOISE AND LOOSE BRAKING POWER. I PULL OVER TURN OFF THE TRUCK FOR A FEW SECONDS, TURN IT BACK ON AND THE BRAKE LIGHT GOES AWAY. IT WORKS GOOD AFTER THAT BUT SOMETIMES I GET THE SAME PROBLEM MULTIPLE TIMES THROUGH OUT THE DAY. IT GETS SCARY WHEN TRAFFIC SUDDENLY STOPS AND THAT HAPPENS. NISSAN SHOULD REALLY MAKE A RECALL ON THIS.
I WAS TRAVELING OVER THE 285 SPAGHETTI JUNCTION BRIDGE WHEN A CRASHING SOUND LIKE A GUN SHOT DISRUPTED MY DRIVE. I GRIPPED THE STIRRING WHEEL AND WAS ABLE TO PULL OVER TO THE SIDE. CATCHING MY BARRENS, WE REALIZED THAT THE SIDE "CURTAIN" AIRBAGS DEPLOYED. THERE WAS NOT AN ACCIDENT, NO ONE HIT US AND WE DID NOT HIT ANYONE SO WE WERE NOT SURE ON HOW OR WHY THE AIRBAGS DEPLOYED. WE CONTACTED NISSAN HEADQUARTERS AND THEY ARE NOT WILLING TO ASSIST US STATING THAT BECAUSE OF THE MILEAGE AND YEAR OF THE VEHICLE THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO. IT IS REALLY UPSETTING THAT THEY ARE NOT CONSIDERING THE INCIDENT COULD HAVE BEEN DEADLY IF THE AIRBAGS DEPLOYED IN THE FRONT AND BLINDED MY VISIBILITY. INSTEAD NISSAN WILL NOT GIVE US A REASON FOR THE DEPLOYMENT OR EVEN CHECK OUT THE VEHICLE AS IT SITS AT THE NISSAN INFINITI DEALERSHIP. WE HAVE CONTACTED OUR INSURANCE COMPANY, BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU AND NO ONE IS WILLING TO ASSIST OR BE ACCOUNTABLE. OUR HANDS ARE TIED LOCKED IN A CAR PAYMENT THAT WE ARE NOT EVEN ABLE TO DRIVE. *TR
AS DRIVING I HAD A SUDDEN RED LIGHT WHEN HIT BRAKES PEDAL VIBRATED NO BRAKING AND SLIPPING, AND MAKING NOISES, AND BRAKE LIGHT CAME ON, I WAS ABLE TO PULL OFF THE ROAD IN A PARKING LOT AND TESTED THE BRAKES FOR ABOUT 10 MINS BUT IT WAS DOING THE SAME THING, I TURN ON AND OFF BUT STILL, AFTER MAYBE 15 MINS, LIGHT WHEN OFF AND THEN I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE. I GOT MY OIL CHANGE AT NISSAN NALLEY IN DECATUR GA. I TOLD THEM WHAT HAD HAPPENED AND HE SAID THAT THE LIGHT FORM BRAKE WAS ALREADY OFF, AND WAS NOT GOING TO BE ABLE TO DIAGNOSED SINCE CPU HAD ALREADY DELETED. JUST TWO DAYS AGO (5/29/14)AT 78K WHILE I'M HEADING TO PARK WITH WIFE AND DAUGHTERS IT DOES IT AGAIN, NOW AT ABOUT 25 MPH, I PULLED IN A STREET WITH LESS TRAFFIC AND DID THE SAME AGAIN, DON'T WANT TO DRIVE THIS CAR ANYMORE, AS IM WORRIED IT HAPPENS AT A HIGHER SPEED WITH MY LOVE ONES IN, *TR
APPLIED BRAKES, BRAKE LIGHT WENT ON ABS STOPPED WORKING, BRAKES GROAN. THEY WORK AT 10 %. PLEASE SEE YOUTUBE ENTER ARMADA BRAKE SYSTEM PROBLEM. THERE ARE 100'S OF COMPLAINTS FOR THE EXACT SAME FAILURE. THERE IS A PROBLEM IN THE BRAKE BOOSTER. ONCE YOU SHUT OFF THE VEHICLE AND RESTART IT THE ABS RESETS UNTIL THE NEXT OCCURRENCE. THIS HAS OCCURRED MANY TIMES OVER THE YEARS, THIS SYSTEM FAILURE WILL CAUSE DEATH IF NOT ADDRESSED. *TR
MY WIFE WAS DRIVING ABOUT 30 MPH IN THE EVENING AND ALL OF A SUDDEN WITH NO ACCIDENT NO FENDER BENDER OR BUMP THE SIDE AIRBAGS DEPLOYED FOR NO REASON, SHAKEN AND SCARED SHE CALLED ME TO INFORM ME OF THE SITUATION, THANKFULLY MY KIDS WERE NOT IN THE CAR AT THE TIME! I BEGAN TO DO RESEARCH AND FOUND THAT I WASN'T THE ONLY ONE, THIS AIRBAG SENSOR THAT IS BAD ON ALL ARMADAS WERE RECALLED EXCEPT THE 04 MODEL ACCORDING TO NISSAN CUSTOMER SERVICE, SO INITIALLY I WAS APPALLED, THE NICE LADY AT NISSAN SAID THAT IN ORDER FOR ME TO DO ANYTHING FURTHER I WOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR A DIAGNOSTIC OUT OF MY OWN POCKET LIKE THE OTHER POOR GUY ON HERE WHO PAID AND WAS OUT OF A VEHICLE FOR ABOUT 3 WEEKS JUST TO END UP IN A SITUATION WHERE THEY WON'T DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT AFTER THEY FIND THAT THE SENSOR STATES VEHICLE WAS IN A ROLL OVER ACCIDENT EVEN THOUGH IT WASN'T!!! WHAT ARE WE AS CONSUMERS TO DO IN A BAD SITUATION LIKE THIS? CAR HAS ABOUT 137766 MILES DRIVEN. *TR
ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS, WHEN HITTING THE BRAKES, THE BRAKE LIGHT WOULD COME ON. THE BRAKE PEDAL BECOMES SOFT AND SPRINGY, LOSE ABOUT 50-75% OF THE BRAKING POWER OF THE VEHICLE. I AM AFRAID THAT THIS WOULD HAPPEN WHILE MY WIFE IS DRIVING, AND THIS MAY CAUSE HER TO PANIC AND HAVE AN ACCIDENT. *TR
I WAS DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY WITH MY FAMILY AT APPROX. 70 MPH, WHEN THE ENGINE SHUT DOWN INSTANTANEOUSLY. THIS WAS A VERY POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS SITUATION, WITH CARS GOING BY ALL AROUND US AT 70+ MPH. AFTER WE STOPPED, I TRIED STARTING THE ENGINE AGAIN A NUMBER OF TIMES, BUT THERE WAS NOTHING. THE TOW TRUCK OPERATOR CAME 10 MINUTES LATER, & HE SAID TRY IT ONE MORE TIME. I DID, & IT STARTED IMMEDIATELY, & I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE OFF THE FREEWAY. I DROVE IT ON SURFACE STREETS TO GET HOME FROM THERE, & THEN IT DIED ONE MORE TIME. HOWEVER, THIS TIME IT STARTED UP AGAIN & WE REACHED HOME. I TOOK IT TOO A VERY EXPERIENCED MECHANIC I USE, & HE COULD FIND NOTHING. I TOOK IT TO THE NISSAN DEALER,, & THEY COULD FIND NOTHING. THIS VEHICLE IS METICULOUSLY MAINTAINED. I HAVE BEEN DRIVING THE VEHICLE FOR 2 WEEKS, & NOTHING HAS HAPPENED. I DRIVE IT ON THE FREEWAY, BUT IN THE SLOW LANE & WITHOUT MY FAMILY IN THE CAR. *TR
I WAS PULLING OUT OF THE GAS STATION, WHEN I APPLIED THE BRAKE IT BEGAN MAKING A POPPING SOUND, THE PEDAL WENT ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR AND BRAKE LIGHT CAME ON. IT ALMOST CAUSED AN ACCIDENT. I PULLED OVER TURNED IT OFF THEN TURNED IT BACK ON AND THE BRAKE LIGHT WENT OFF. I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE HOME WITH NO OTHER ISSUES. TODAY I WAS BACKING OUT OF THE DRIVEWAY AND THE SAME THING HAPPENED. THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG WITH THE BRAKE SYSTEM. I CAN'T BELIEVE SOMETHING HASN'T BEEN DONE WITH ALL OF THE SIMILAR COMPLAINTS. I WENT TO GET IT CHECKED AND THEY CAN'T FIND THE ISSUE. PLEASE LOOK INTO THIS BEFORE A FATALITY OCCURS. *TR
BRAKE LIGHT CAME ON AND BRAKES MADE A SPRINGING SOUND AND CAR WOULDN'T STOP!!! IT'S THE DELTA STROKE SENSOR AND THIS IS NOT FIRST COMPLAINT. THESE VEHICLES NEED TO BE RECALLED. THEY R A DEATH TRAP!!! SOMEONE IS GONNA BE SERIOUSLY HURT OR KILLED! *TR
WE OWN A 2004 NISSAN ARMADA. THE SUB FRAME WAS CORRODED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS CONFIRMED THAT THE SUB FRAME WAS CORRODED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100,000. *TR
DRIVING ON SURFACE STREETS GOING APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH WHEN A THUD SOUND CAME FROM UNDER THE CAR AND THE BRAKES WHEN PRESSED SCREETCHED AND WERE MUSHY AND NOT EFFECTIVELY STOPPING THE CAR, IN ADDITION THE PARKING BRAKE LIGHT ON THE DASH LIGHT UP BUT WAS NOT ENGAGED. I WAS ABLE TO PULL TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND COME TO A STOP BY REPEATILY LIGHTLY PUSHING ON THE BRAKE AND JUST LETTING THE MOMENTUM OF THE CAR DIE DOWN. ONCE STOPPED I TURNED OFF THE CAR AND LOOKED UNDER THE CAR FOR ANY SIGN OF DAMAGE OR LEAKS AND POPPED THE HOOD OF THE CAR TO DO THE SAME. FOUND NO EVIDANCE OF ANY DAMAGE OR PROBLEMS. WHEN I TURNED ON THE CAR THE LIGHT ON THE DASH WAS OFF AND THE BRAKES WHEN PRESSED BECAME HARD AND NO SOUND CAME FROM THE BRAKES AND THE BRAKES WORKED AS THEY SHOULD. *TR
AMAZING HOW MANY COMPLAINTS ON THE ARMADAS "WITHOUT WARNING" BRAKE FAILURE AND YET STILL NO INVESTIGATION? IS IT BECAUSE OF THE CLASS ACTION SUIT AGAINST NISSAN FOR THIS VERY THING? ARE YOU NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR THE SAFETY OF PEOPLE? I THOUGHT THAT WAS THE PURPOSE OF THIS ORGANIZATION. DISAPPOINTING THAT YOU ARE STILL WAITING FOR SOMEONE TO DIE BEFORE ANYTHING IS DONE. *TR
WIFE WAS DRIVING ON DRY PAVEMENT, APPROACHING TURN. BRAKES GAVE A GRINDING SOUND AND FAILED ALMOST COMPLETELY. SHE WAS BARELY ABLE TO MAKE THE TURN AND ENTER A PARKING LOT WHERE IT EVENTUALLY SLOWED TO A STOP. *TR
I WAS APPROACHING AN INTERSECTION WITH A STOP LIGHT WHAT WAS RED. THERE WERE 4 CARS AHEAD OF ME. WHEN I APPLIED THE BRAKES, MY FEET ALSO HIT THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL AT THE SAME TIME. THE CAR JUMPED FORWARD AND HIT THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME AND ALSO PUSHED IT INTO ANOTHER CAR RESULTING IN A MULTI CAR ACCIDENT. MY CAR SUSTAINED MINOR DAMAGE BUT TWO OF THE OTHER CARS HAD SIGNIFICANT DAMAGE. THIS WAS THE SECOND TIME THAT THIS OCCURRED TO ME WITH THIS VEHICLE. THE OTHER TIME WAS A SIMILAR SITUATION WHERE I WAS APPROACHING A STOP SIGN. FORTUNATELY, NO ONE WAS IN FRONT OF ME. IN BOTH INCIDENTS, I WAS WEARING WESTERN STYLE BOOTS. BUT IT COULD HAVE EASILY HAPPENED WITH WORK BOOTS. I BELIEVE THAT THE PLACEMENT OF THE BRAKE PEDAL IS TOO CLOSE TO THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL. THIS VEHICLE ALSO HAS ADJUSTABLE BRAKE PEDALS, WHICH COULD ALSO BE A CONTRIBUTING FACTOR. *TR
MY 2004 NISSAN PATHFINDER ARMADA, RADIATOR HAD AN INTERNAL LEAK WITCH MADE MY TRANSMISSION FLUID MIX WITH MY COOLANT FLUID AN NOW I NEED A NEW TRANSMISSION AND A RADIATOR . NISSAN FAILS TO HELP ME WITH MY ISSUE. WHEN THERE WAS A EARLIER LAWSUIT ON A VERY SIMILAR IF NOT THE SAME PROBLEM WITH THE NISSAN TRUCKS FROM 2005 TO 2010 . I HAVE NOW SPOKE WITH DIFFERENT MECHANIC'S AND THEY SAY THAT THIS IS A VERY KNOWN ISSUE WITH ALL THEIR TRUCKS. MY TRUCK ONLY HAS 76,646 MILES ON IT I WAS INFORMED THAT MY RADIATOR HAD A WARRANT OF ONLY 36,000 MILES WITCH I WAS NOT INFORMED OF WHEN I BOUGHT THIS TRUCK IN 2008 BECAUSE HAD I KNOWN ABOUT THIS I WOULD HAVE HAD THEM GIVE ME A NEW ONE RIGHT AWAY. WAS DRIVING VEHICLE 35 MPH SLOWED DOWN TO GO AROUND SHARP CURVE. WHEN VEHICLE DROVE AROUND CURVE THERE WERE VEHICLES IN FRONT OF US THAT STOPPED SUDDENLY. APPLIED BRAKES AND PEDAL PULSED AND REQUIRED ALOT OF EFFORT TO SLOW DOWN. WAS UNABLE TO SLOW VEHICLE DOWN FAST ENOUGH AND REAR ENDED VEHICLE IN FRONT OF US. CAUSED A 3 CAR PILEUP. THE 3 PASSENGERS IN OUR 04 ARMADA SUFFERED WHIPLASH, THE DRIVER SPRAINED HER WRIST AND WAS OUT OF WORK FOR 3 DAYS BECAUSE OF ACCIDENT. THE NISSAN ARMADA WAS TOTALED AND HAD TO PURCHASE ANOTHER VEHICLE. THE BRAKES NOT WORKING CORRECTLY IS WHAT CAUSED THE ACCIDENT. *TR
I HAVE HAD THE SAME PROBLEM IN REGARDS TO THE NISSAN ARMADA BRAKE LIGHT COMING ON WITHOUT WARNING DURING DRIVING. THIS HAS HAPPENED NUMEROUS TIMES WHILE ON AND OFF THE FREEWAY. I WOULD TURN THE ENGINE OFF AND THEN BACK ON AND THE BRAKES LIGHT WOULD GO OFF, RESETTING THE BRAKING SYSTEM TO NORMAL FUNCTION. THIS LAST TIME WAS ENOUGH AND I FINALLY TOOK IT INTO NISSAN AND THEY TOLD ME THAT IT'S A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THE BRAKE BOOSTER, AND IT WOULD BE OVER $1000 TO FIX!! NISSAN NEEDS TO BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS FAULTY SENSOR OR PART. ITS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS TO DRIVE THIS VEHICLE UNDER THESE CONDITIONS. THANK GOODNESS MY WIFE AND INFANT DAUGHTER HAVE NEVER BEEN IN THE VEHICLE WHENEVER THIS HAPPENED. DO BETTER NISSAN, I'VE HAD NO OTHER PROBLEMS WITH THE VEHICLE OTHER THAN THIS. *TR
ALOT OF TIMES WHILE PRESSING THE BRAKES YOU HERE A NOISE, SCRUBBING, BRAKE PADS GOES TO THE BOTTOM OF THE FLOOR , LIGHTS COME ON AND UNABLE TO STOP PROPERLY HAVE TO TURN THE CAR OFF TO GET THE LIGHTS TO GO AWAY THIS COULD CAUSE SERIOUS PROBLEMS BEING UNABLE TO STOP
I WAS DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY AND MY EMERGENCY BRAKE LIGHT CAME ON. AS I EXITED OFF THE FREEWAY AND TRIED TO STOP THE BRAKES WERE MAKING A TERRIBLE NOISE AND FAILED ME. IT WAS VERY FRIGHTENING AS MY CAR WAS NOT ABLE TO STOP AT ALL, THANKFULLY I WAS ABLE TO USE THE TRANSMISSION TO SLOW THE CAR BY DROPPING DOWN TO FIRST GEAR. I HAD MY 2 CHILDREN IN THE CAR AND THANKFULLY WE WERE NOT IN AN ACCIDENT ALTHOUGH WAS VERY CLOSE AS THERE WERE CARS IN FRONT OF ME STOPPED AT A LIGHT. WHEN I CAME HOME WE CHECKED THE BRAKE FLUID AND PADS AND BOTH WERE FINE. WHEN WE TURNED OFF THE CAR AND TURNED IT BACK ON EVERYTHING WAS FINE AND THE PROBLEM DID NOT REOCCUR. I HAVE MY CAR MAINTENANCE VERY REGULARLY AND THIS PROBLEM STUMPED OUR NORMAL MECHANIC. I HAVE SINCE LEARNED THAT THIS IS A COMMON OCCURRENCE AMONG VEHICLES LIKE MINE AND IS APPARENTLY THE BREAK BOOSTER WHICH NISSAN WILL FIX FOR $800. THIS IS VERY DISTURBING THAT A CAR CAN LOSE COMPLETE CONTROL OF ITS ABILITY TO BREAK JUST LIKE THAT WITH ABSOLUTELY NO WARNING THEN AFTER I TURN IF OFF AND BACK ON BE JUST FINE. I BELIEVE THIS IS A DANGEROUS PROBLEM AND THE MANUFACTURER NEEDS TO DEAL WITH THIS PROBLEM IMMEDIATELY BEFORE SOMEONE IS SERIOUSLY INJURED. I HAVE NO PROBLEM FIXING THE BREAK BOOSTER BUT HOW IS NISSAN ABLE TO INSURE ME THIS PROBLEM WILL NOT HAPPEN AGAIN? I FEEL VERY UNSAFE KNOWING AT ANY TIME IT COULD RE OCCUR. *TR
2004 NISSAN ARMADA BRAKE ISSUE. DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AND THE BRAKES START GRINDING AND ITS HARD TO STOP. THEN THE E BRAKE LIGHT COMES ON. ONCE I GET PULLED OVER AND RESTART THE VEHICLE IT SEEMS TO BE FINE. THIS HAS HAPPENED TWICE GETTING VERY NERVOUS TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE. WORRIED ABOUT TOWING OR HIGH SPEEDS THIS COULD BE FATAL. *JB
WHILE DRIVING IN TRAFFIC AT 35 MPH I PRESSED THE BRAKES AND THEY WENT ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR AND THE BRAKE LIGHT CAME ON. I TURNED THE VEHICLE OFF AND ON AND THE BRAKE LIGHT WENT OFF AND THE BRAKES RECOVERED. SHORTLY AFTER THE BRAKES DID THE SAME THING AGAIN AND I ALMOST CRASHED INTO SOMEONE BUT WAS ABLE TO SWERVE. *TR
CRACKED EXHAUST MANIFOLD IDENTIFIED. DEALER TOOK 2 MONTHS AFTER REQUESTING A TRIP TO THE DEALERSHIP (200 MILES RT) TO DENY ANY RESPONSIBILITY BECAUSE VEHICLE IS OVER 8 YEARS NEW. BEEN CRACKED FOR YEARS AND THEY KNEW ITS AGE BEFORE REQUESTING AN INSPECTION. WE WERE TOLD BY DEALERSHIP TO BE WARY OF EXHAUST LEAKING INTO THE CABIN. *TR
WHILE APPLYING BRAKES, I NOTICED THE BRAKE LIGHT ON THE DASH CAME ON AND THAT WAS FOLLOWED BY A SERIOUS REDUCTION IN BRAKING POWER, SHUTTERING, GRINDING AND PULSING OF THE BRAKE PEDAL. THIS CONTINUED UNTIL THE CAR WAS STOPPED AND TURNED OFF AND THEN RESTARTED. I ALMOST REAR ENDED A VEHICLE BUT WAS ABLE TO MAKE A RIGHT TURN AT FAIRLY HIGH SPEED TO AVOID TRAFFIC. I HAVE RESEARCHED THIS ALL DAY AND FOUND THAT MANY ARMADA'S IN MY YEAR RANGE ARE HAVING THE SAME EXACT PROBLEM. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 NISSAN ARMADA. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE TRAVELING AT ANY SPEED, THE ABS SENSOR ILLUMINATED AND THERE WAS A LOUD SPRINGING SOUND INTERMITTENTLY COMING FROM THE BRAKES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER. THE TECHNICIAN CLEARED THE COMPUTER FOR THE VDC CODE, REPLACED THE BALL BEARINGS AND THE DIFFERENTIAL HOUSING. THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE CONTACT HAD TO CONTINUOUSLY TURN OFF THE VEHICLE AND RESTART IT IN ORDER TO RESET THE ABS SENSOR AND THE VDC SENSOR TO NO AVAIL. THE VEHICLE WAS TO BE INSPECTED, DIAGNOSED AND REPAIRED. THE CONTACT WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBERS: 07E046000 (EQUIPMENT). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 108,000. PAM UPDATED 8/11/14*CN
2004 NISSAN ARMADA BRAKE ISSUE. DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AND THE BRAKES START GRINDING AND ITS HARD TO STOP, EMERGENCY BRAKE LIGHT COMES ON. ONCE I AM ABLE TO SLOW DOWN AND PULL OVER, I THEN RESTART THE VEHICLE AND THE BRAKES GO BACK TO PERFORMING NORMALLY. THIS HAS HAPPENED NUMEROUS TIMES SINCE PURCHASING THE VEHICLE. THIS MOST RECENT TIME HAPPENED WHILE TOWING A 6500 LB LOAD. THANKFULLY, NO ONE WAS IN FRONT OF US. I HAVE DONE QUITE A BIT OF RESEARCH ON THE ARMADA AND TITAN FORUMS AND THEY REFERENCE NTP06-040 AS WELL AS A RATHER EXPENSIVE BRAKE BOOSTER REPLACEMENT AT CLOSE TO $1000. WHILE DRIVING, THE BRAKE LIGHT CAME ON AND WHEN I PRESSED ON THE BRAKES, THE PEDAL WENT ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR AND A GRINDING NOISE WAS HEARD. THIS HAS HAPPENED BEFORE. TOOK IT INTO NISSAN AND I WAS CHARGED ABOUT $100 TO REPROGRAM THE SYSTEM. THAT WAS SUPPOSED TO HAVE FIXED BUT APPARENTLY IT DID NOT. LUCKILY, WE HAVEN'T BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT YET. *TR
AS MANY, MANY OTHER HAVE STATED ON THE NISSAN FORUMS, THIS VEHICLE HAS SOME DANGEROUS BRAKING ISSUES. WE HAVE HAD OUR ARMADA FOR ABOUT 4 YEARS AND HAVE EXPERIENCED THIS ISSUE AT LEAST NINE TIMES. THANKFULLY FOR US, IT HAS NOT HAPPENED WHILE WE WERE ON THE FREEWAY AT HIGH SPEEDS OR IN A SITUATION WHERE WE HAD TO STOP INSTANTLY. HERE IS AN EXPLANATION OF OUR ISSUES: WHILE APPLYING THE BRAKE PEDAL WE IMMEDIATELY HEARD A GRINDING AND POPPING NOISE, AS WELL AS NOISES INDICATING THAT THE ABS WAS ACTIVATING OFF AND ON. THE PEDAL WAS VERY SOFT AND KICKS BACK MULTIPLE TIMES. THE BRAKING EFFECTIVENESS WAS SEVERELY DIMINISHED. WE HAVE TO PULL OVER, TURN THE VEHICLE OFF AND ON AGAIN BEFORE WE CAN CONTINUE DRIVING. I FIND THIS TO BE A SEVER ISSUE WHICH IS GOING TO GET SOMEONE KILLED, IF IT HAS NOT ALREADY. MORE THAN A FEW CLASS ACTION LAW SUITES HAVE BEEN FILED FOR THIS ISSUE IN THE TITAN TRUCK, ARMADA AND INFINITI QX56 AS THEY ALL SHARE THE SAME PLATFORM AND PARTS. *TR
WHEN COMING TO A STOP AND APPLYING THE BRAKES, THE VEHICLE LOST MOST OF ITS BRAKING POWER. THE PEDAL WENT SOFT AND BEGAN PULSATING WITH A GRINDING NOISE. THE BRAKE LIGHT CAME ON. IT ACTED AS THOUGH THE ABS SYSTEM WAS ACTIVATED. THE BRAKE SYSTEM STAYED IN THE FAILED MODE UNTIL I COULD PULL OVER AND TURN THE ENGINE OFF AND THE COMPUTER WOULD RESET ITSELF. *TR

WHILE DRIVING MY 2004 NISSAN ARMADA LE, I WENT TO SLOW DOWN TO MAKE A TURN, AND MY BRAKE PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR ACCOMPANIED BY A METALLIC GRINDING SOUND. I DOWNSHIFTED AND PUMPED THE BRAKES TO COME TO A STOP, BUT HAD VERY LITTLE BRAKING EFFICIENCY FOR THE NEXT THIRD OF A MILE TO MY HOUSE. THE BRAKE LIGHT HAS PERIODICALLY STAYED ON AFTER THE EMERGENCY BRAKE WAS RELEASED, BUT TURNING THE VEHICLE OFF AND THEN BACK ON HAS ALWAYS RESET THIS CONDITION. AFTER THE INCIDENT TODAY, THE BRAKE LIGHT REMAINED LIT EVEN AFTER RESTARTING THE VEHICLE. THE BRAKE PADS, CALIPERS, ROTORS, PISTONS, AND MASTER CYLINDER ALL APPEAR TO BE IN NORMAL CONDITION. I FEEL THAT OUR VEHICLE HAS EXPERIENCED FAILURE OF THE DELTA SENSOR OR BRAKE BOOSTER, AS ONLINE FORUM DESCRIPTIONS OF THESE SUDDEN FAILURES SEEM CONSISTENT WITH OUR EXPERIENCE. NISSAN NEEDS TO ACT QUICKLY TO CORRECT THIS FAILURE TO AVOID DRIVER INJURY OR DEATH. IT APPEARS THAT THERE IS NO OPEN RECALL AS OF YET TO ADDRESS THE FAULTY BRAKE BOOSTER ISSUE. *TR

SO LAST WEEK PROBLEM HAPPENED AGAIN WITHOUT WARNING THIS TIME WITH MY 3YR OLD DAUGHTER IN THE CAR AND I WAS LUCKY THAT IT DID NOT RESULT IN AN ACCIDENT. $818 IS A FINANCIAL HARDSHIP FOR AN OBVIOUS HUGE SAFETY ISSUE WITH NISSAN. CAR INVOLVED IS A 2004 NISSAN ARMADA. I WAS PULLING UP IN FRONT OF MY SON'S FRIEND'S HOUSE TO DROP HIM OFF. I FIGURED IT WAS A FLUKE THING AND PAID MY $1000 DEDUCTIBLE AND THEY REPAIRED THE $8500 WORTH OF DAMAGE. I AM VERY CONCERNED BECAUSE IF I WOULD HAVE BEEN SLOWING DOWN FOR SOMEONE AT A CROSSWALK I WOULD HAVE RAN THEM OVER.
