BOTH EXHAUST MANIFOLDS FAILED TWICE. AT 40,000 MILES AND 80,000 MILES. NISSAN REPLACED UNDER WARRANTY AT 40K WITH SAME DEFECTIVE MANIFOLDS WHICH FAILED AGAIN AT 80K. NISSAN OFFERED TO REPLACE WITH SAME DEFECTIVE PARTS FOR A TOTAL OF $2400.00. LEAKS WEREN'T DISCOVERED TILL 83K MILES. I NOW OWN A VEHICLE THAT HAS CONSISTENTLY LEAKED CARBON MONOXIDE INTO THE PASSEGER CABIN. MY SPOUSE IS WONDERING IF THIS WAS THE CAUSE OF MY SIX YEAR OLD'S BRAIN CANCER WHICH WAS DIAGNOSED 4 YEARS AGO WHEN THE MANIFOLDS WERE LEAKING FOR THE FIRST TIME. THIS VEHICLE HAS BEEN HER DAILY DRIVER SINCE NEW. IT SEEMS THAT NISSAN ARMADA AND TITAN VEHICLES HAVE EXHAUST MANIFOLDS THAT FAIL BETWEEN 30/40K AND NISSAN REPLACES WITH SAME DEFECTIVE PART. *KB
I HAVE A 2004 NISSAN ARMADA AND WAS TRAVELING AT LOW SPEED WHEN THE BRAKES FAILED. THE VEHICLE ROLLED OUT INTO THE INTERSECTION BEFORE STOPPING. JUST PRIOR TO STOPPING IT FELT LIKE THE ABS WAS TRYING TO ENGAGE, BUT THE PAVEMENT WAS NOT SLIPPERY. I DROVE SLOWLY AND TRIED THE BRAKES A FEW MORE TIMES AND EVERY TIME IT FELT LIKE THE ABS WAS KICKING IN, BUT THE BRAKING WAS SEVERLY DIMINISHED. I DROVE THE VEHICLE SLOWLY)ABOUT 1 MILE TO A DEALERSHIP. TURNED THE VEHICLE OFF, AND WHEN WE TURNED IT BACK ON AGAIN , THE PROBLEM WAS GONE. THE TECH NICIAN DID A CODE SCAN AND FOUND THAT THE ABS NEEDED TO BE REPROGRAMMED, WHICH WAS BEING DONE NOW. I DOD A SEARCH ON THE INTERNET AND THIS SEEMED PREVELANT IN THE 2004 ARMADAS AND TITANS. MY CONCERN THAT THE COMPLAINTS I HAVE READ SHOWED THAT THIS CONTINUEDC TO RECUR EVEN AFTER THE REPROGRAMMING. IF THIS HAPPENED UNEXPECTEDLY AT HIGH SPEED AND A PANIC STOP THE RESULTS WILL BE CATASTROPHIC. THIS SHOULD BE INVESTIGATED. THANKS. *AK
WE HAVE EXPERIENCED PROBLEMS WITH THE ABS SYSTEM ON OUR 2004 NISSAN ARMADA SINCE EARLY 2006. PERIODICALLY WHILE DRIVING THE BRAKE LIGHT WILL ILLUMINATE, WHEN BRAKES ARE APPLIED THE ABS SYSTEM ACTIVATES AND THE BRAKES ARE VERY SPONGY. WHEN RELEASED IT SOUNDS AS THOUGH A BIG SPRING IS RELEASED. EACH TIME (APPROX 8 PREVIOUSLY) WE'VE DRIVEN VERY SLOW TO A SAFE LOCATION, TURNED THE VEHICLE OFF AND BACK WHICH RESETS THE SYSTEM. THE OCCURRENCE HAPPENS AT VARIOUS SPEEDS FROM 25-70 MPH. ON ONE OCCASION I WAS ABLE TO TAKE THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP DURING MALFUNCTION. ALTHOUGH OBSERVED, THE WEEKEND TECHNICIAN FAILED TO PROPERLY RELAY THE SITUATION TO THE REGULAR TECHNICIAN RESULTING IN NO ACTION TAKEN. EACH TIME WE WERE ASSURED IF NORMAL BRAKES FAILED, WOULD STILL HAVE BRAKES WITH ABS. THE SYSTEM ALSO MALFUNCTIONS ON INITIAL START UP, WHEN TURNED OFF AND RESTARTED THE SYSTEM IS RESET. MOST RECENT OCCURRENCE WAS 5/11/2007, I CONTACTED MY CURRENT DEALERSHIP AND SCHEDULED AN APPOINTMENT. ON 5/14/2007, THEY FOUND THE DTC C1179 DELTA SENSOR OUT OF PROGRAM, IT WAS REPROGRAMMED UNDER NTB06-040 PROGRAM. MALFUNCTION OCCURRED AGAIN DURING INITIAL STARTUP OF VEHICLE ON 5/19/2007, TAKING VEHICLE BACK FOR SERVICE. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 NISSAN ARMADA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH, THE BRAKES FAILED TO ENGAGE AND THE BRAKE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT FAILURE OCCURRED SEVERAL TIMES AND AT ONE POINT THE CONTACT HAD TO CRASH INTO A TREE IN ORDER TO STOP THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER. THE TECHNICIAN WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE PROBLEM. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 110,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 NISSAN ARMADA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 55 MPH, THE BRAKE LIGHT ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE CONTACT DEPRESSED THE BRAKE PEDAL AND THE PEDAL DROPPED TO THE FLOOR BOARD. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO STOP THE VEHICLE. THE BRAKES PERFORMED AS NORMAL ONCE HE RESTARTED THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER ABOUT SIX DIFFERENT TIMES FOR A DIAGNOSTIC TEST. THE TECHNICIAN STATED THAT THE MASTER CYLINDER SENSOR, THE ROTORS, AND THE BATTERY WOULD HAVE TO BE REPLACED. BRAKE FLUID WAS ALSO ADDED TO THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE CONTINUED AFTER THE REPAIRS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED A SECOND TIME. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 6,000.
ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS AT A VARIETY OF SPEEDS THE BRAKES ON THE 2004 NISSAN ARMADA SEEM TO FAIL. THE BRAKE LIGHT COMES ON IN THE DASH, THE BRAKE PEDAL THEN PULSES LIKE THE ABS IS ON HOWEVER THE BRAKE POWER IS EXTREMELY DIMINISHED. THE "FIX" IS TO STOP THE VEHICLE AND SHUT IT OFF. IF YOU DO THIS, THE BRAKES RETURN TO NORMAL. THAT WORKS IF AN URGENT STOP IS NOT NEEDED. SHOULD YOU NEED TO STOP URGENTLY A CRASH WILL SURELY RESULT. ON MY ARMADA, THIS HAS HAPPENED ABOUT 10-15 TIMES, I PURCHASED IT NEW SO I'M THE ORIGINAL AND ONLY OWNER. I HAVE FOUND MULTIPLE REPORTS ONLINE ABOUT THIS SAME THING HAPPENING. IT HAPPENED TO ME THIS WEEK WHICH MADE ME RESEARCH THE ISSUE A BIT. MONTHS GO BY WITH NO PROBLEM BUT IT ONLY TAKES ONE TO CAUSE A SERIOUS CRASH. NISSAN NEEDS TO RESOLVE THIS PROBLEM AND ISSUE A SAFETY RECALL. *JS
REPEATED BRAKE ISSUES; ABS COMPUTER SHUTDOWN; BRAKE JUDDERS. THIS HAS BEEN ONGOING SINCE BUYING THE VEHICLE IN 2004. VEHICLE HAS HAD AT LEAST 5 DIFFERENT BRAKE KITS INSTALLED AND THE ABS COMPUTER HAS MALFUNCTIONED TWICE IN THE PAST 6 MONTHS. *TR
2004 NISSAN PATHFINDER ARMADA. PURCHASED AT 11488 MILES ON 11/5/05. EXPERIENCED VERY SLIGHT VIBRATION WHEN BRAKING AT HIGH SPEED ON WAY HOME. ALSO EXPERIENCED PERIODIC "GROAN OR THUMP" WHEN GENTLY BRAKING, MOSTLY WHILE TURNING. VIBRATION CONTINUED TO INCREASE UNTIL STEERING BECAME UNMANAGEABLE WHILE BRAKING. DIFFICULT TO BE WITHOUT A CAR SO WE COULDN'T TAKE THE CAR IN UNTIL 1/10/07 AT 22030 MILES. OUR MECHANIC SAID THEY WERE THE WORST WARPED ROTORS HE HAD EVER SEEN AND HAD THEM TURNED. HE ALSO REPLACED 50% NISSAN PADS WITH CARQUEST CERAMIC PADS. TWO DAYS LATER, THE VIBRATION WAS BACK AND DRAMATICALLY INCREASED OVER 1000 MILE ROAD TRIP UNTIL WE TOOK CAR TO DEALER ON 3/2/07 AT 24,140 MILES. STEERING NOW COMPLETELY UNMANAGEABLE! DEALER WOULDN'T HONOR WARRANTY BECAUSE WE HAD CARQUEST PADS ON CAR. ALSO TOLD US THAT WARRANTY WORK HAD BEEN DONE ON ROTORS AT ABOUT 7000 MILES UNDER ORIGINAL OWNER. DEALER TURNED ROTORS AND INSTALLED NISSAN PADS AND INFORMED US THAT WE WERE NOW BACK UNDER WARRANTY UNTIL 36000 MILES OR 8/07. DON'T FEEL SAFE ON ROAD, ESPECIALLY AFTER READING POSTS OF COMPLETE BRAKE FAILURE, YET NEED A CAR TO DRIVE ON TRIPS. PLEASE ISSUE RECALL. *JB

MONTHS GO BY WITH NO PROBLEM BUT IT ONLY TAKES ONE TO CAUSE A SERIOUS CRASH. NISSAN NEEDS TO RESOLVE THIS PROBLEM AND ISSUE A SAFETY RECALL. I LOVE THIS VEHICLE AND PAID ALOT OF MONEY FOR IT. I WOULD EXPECT NISSAN TO RECALL AND CORRECT THIS VERY SERIOUS ISSUE THAT HUNDREDS IF NOT THOUSANDS OF OWNERS ARE EXPERIENCING. *TT
THE BRAKE LIGHT WILL GO ON WHILE THE CAR IS IN MOTION. WHEN THE BRAKE IS APPLIED AT THIS TIME THERE IS A SIGNIFICANT LOSS OF BREAKING POWER AS WELL AS A GRINDING AND JERKING MOTION. IT IS EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO BRING THE VEHICLE TO A STOP. I HAVE ALSO NOTICED THAT IF I TURN ON THE VEHICLE AND LEAVE IT IN PART POSITION FOR 10 MINUTES OR SO, THE BRAKE LIGHT WILL ALSO GO ON. IF I PUT THE CAR INTO DRIVE, THE SAME LOSS OF BRAKING POWER OCCURS. I HAVE EXPERIENCED THE LOSS OF BRAKING POWER IN VARIOUS SITUATIONS FROM GOING 75 MILES ON THE FREEWAY TO AS LITTLE AS BRINGING THE CAR OUT OF PARKED POSITION. THERE ARE MANY COMPLAINTS WITH THE SAME LOSS OF POWER AND NISSAN HAS FAILED TO ISSUE A RECALL. *TR
I PURCHASED A BRAND NEW NISSAN ARMADA BACK IN 2004. STARTING AROUND 2006 I HAD A BRAKE FAILURE ISSUE. THE EMERGENCY LIGHT COMES ON UNEXPECTEDLY AND THE BRAKES WOULD NOT APPLY PROPERLY. YOU CAN HEAR A GRINDING, CRANKING, SPRING NOISE WHEN "TRYING" TO STOP THE BEHEMOTH VEHICLE. I TOOK THE CAR IN TO SEVERAL NISSAN DEALERS (WHILE IT WAS UNDER WARRANTY) BUT THEY ALL COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG BECAUSE... IT WAS NOT HAPPENING AT THE TIME I TOOK IT IN. THIS WENT ON FOR YEARS AND YEARS!!! HOW CAN I GET IT FIXED UNDER WARRANTY, IF THE NISSAN DEALERSHIP CAN'T TELL ME THE PROBLEM? RECENTLY NISSAN THEN ADVISED ME TO DO A DIAGNOSTIC CHECK. SO AFTER PAYING $115 OUT OF POCKET TO PROVE SOMETHING IS WRONG, THEY TOLD ME THAT THE MASTER CYLINDER BOOSTER SENSOR WAS "DEFECTIVE". SO I LET NISSAN NORTH AMERICA KNOW ABOUT THE "DEFECT" AND OF COURSE THEIR RESPONSE WAS "YOUR VEHICLE IS NO LONGER UNDER WARRANTY". HOW HEINOUS OF A COMPANY CAN NISSAN BE? NOT CARE FOR THE THOUSANDS OF DRIVERS INCLUDING THEIR FAMILIES (IT IS A FAMILY CAR) AND OTHERS WHO ARE AT RISK OF BEING INJURED OR KILLED BECAUSE OF THIS DEFECT! ON TOP OF THAT THEY KNOW ABOUT THE ISSUE! THEY HAVE SOLD ME A VEHICLE WITH DEFECTIVE PARTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THEY NEED TO BE FINED AND BE ACCOUNTABLE AND FIX THE DEFECTIVE PROBLEM FOR ALL THE CONSUMERS WHO ARE GOING THROUGH THIS TERRIBLE STRESSFUL ISSUE NOT KNOWING WHEN YOUR VEHICLE CANNOT BRAKE! BRAKES PULSATE AND STEERING WHEEL SHAKES WHILE APPLYING BRAKE AND TIRES ARE CUPPING AT5919 MILES. DEALER SAID TIRES NEEDED TO BE BALANCED. THEN AT 13539 MILES STILL THE SAME THING DEALER TURNED ROTORS PAD KIT,BOLT,BOOT KIT. THEN AT 21985 MILES SAME COMPLAINT DEALER REPLACED FRONT ROTORS,PAD KIT,SLIDE SHIMS, AND TURNED REAR ROTORS. THEN AT 26897 MILES THE DEALER ALIGNED ALL FOUR TIRES AND SAID I SHOULD REPLACE THEM BECAUSE OF THE CUPPING. I COULD NOT FIND ALL OF MY REPAIR INVOICES FOR ALL THE TIME THAT I TOOK IT IN FOR THE SAME PROBLEM ALL FOR THE TIRES CUPPING AND THE BRAKES SHUDDERING .I NOW HAVE IT IN THE SHOP AGAIN FOR THE BRAKE PEDAL GOING TO THE FLOOR AND THE STEERING WHEEL SHAKING WAS TOLD CAN NOT FIND PROBLEM WILL HAVE TO HOLD THE CAR ANOTHER DAY. TODAY IS 9-21-06. *NM
ANTENNA FOR RADIO BROKEN LOCATED IN THE TWO REAR WINDOWS(PASSENGER AND DRIVER SIDE ), WINDOWS ARE DESIGNED TO OPEN AND CLOSE. WHEN VEHICLE REACHES SPEED OF FORTY MILES AN HOUR OR GREATER WINDOWS WILL RATTLE . NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY NOR UNDER EXTENDED WARRANTY. THE COST FOR REPAIR FOR ANTENNA IS IN THE RANGE OF 800.00 TO 1000.00. I FEEL THAT THIS IS AN ENGINEERING DESIGN FLAW, AND SHOULD BE REPAIRED AT NISSANS EXPENSE. NOT AT THE CONSUMERS EXPENSE! REPAIRS NEEDED REPLACEMENT OF PASSENGER AND DRIVER SIDE GLASS AND REWIRE. REMOVAL OF HEAD LINER( WIRES ARE LOCATED UNDER HEAD LINER). *JB
I PURCHASED A 2004 NISSAN ARMADA ON 12-28-04. SINCE THAT TIME THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN IN FOR SERVICE ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS. THE LARGEST PROBLEM BEING THE BAD VIBRATION AND SHAKE OF THE VEHICLE WHEN BRAKING. NISSAN HAS REPLACED THE PADS AND ROTORS, WHICH HAS NOT CORRECTED THE PROBLEM. ON SEPTEMBER 7, 2006 I WAS AT NISSAN AGAIN, AND WAS TOLD THAT NISSAN WOULD NO LONGER MAKE THESE REQUIRED REPAIRED REPAIRS. I WAS ALSO TOLD BY A MECHANIC THAT THE REAL PROBLEM IS THAT THE BRAKES AND ROTORS PUT ON THE 2004 ARMADA ARE TOO SMALL FOR THE WEIGHT OF THE VEHICLE, AND THAT IS WHY THE PROBLEM EXISTS. NISSAN MUST CORRECT THIS PROBLEM BEFORE SOMEONE IS INJURED OR KILLED AS A RESULT THIS SERIOUS MECHANICAL PROBLEM. THE NEXT ISSUE IS WITH THE REAR SONAR SYSTEM. THE PROBLEM IS THAT WHEN IT RAINS THE REAR SONAR GOES OFF WHEN THE VEHICLE IS PLACED IN REVERSE. I HAVE TAKEN THIS TO NISSAN FOR REPAIR OR REPLACEMENT ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS. THE REPLACED THE SYSTEM ONCE, AND THE PROBLEM HAS RECURRED. I WAS TOLD BY THE NISSAN SERVICE MANAGER THAT NISSAN IS WORKING TO FIND OUT WHAT THE PROBLEM IS WITH THE SYSTEM. HOWEVER, I HAVE NOT SEEN A SERVICE BULLETIN OR RECALL FOR THIS PROBLEM. THE LAST PROBLEM IS THAT SINCE JUNE 17, 2006 NISSAN HAS REPLACED FOUR (4) RADIOS IN MY VEHICLE. I WAS TOLD THAT NISSAN USES RADIOS MANUFACTURED BY CLARION IN MY VEHICLE, AND THAT THERE HAVE BEEN PROBLEMS WITH THE RADIOS. IF THIS IS SO NISSAN SHOULD GO TO A MORE RELIABLE COMPANY. ON SEPTEMBER 8, 2006 I MADE A CALL TO NISSAN CUSTOMER SERVICE. I WAS ASSIGNED FILE # 5460708, AND TOLD A COMPANY REPRESENTATIVE WOULD GET IN TOUCH WITH ME. SINCE NISSAN IS UNABLE OR UNWILLING TO CORRECT THESE IMPORTANT PROBLEMS, ESPECIALLY WITH THE BRAKES, I AM REQUEST THE ASSISTANCE OF YOUR AGENCY IN THIS MATTER. *NM
ON EIGHT DIFFERENT MY 2004 NISSAN ARAMADA HAD COMPLETE BRAKE FAILURE. EXECUTIVE JEEP NISSAN DID NOTHING TO FIX PROBLEM. VEHICLE VERY UNSAFE. BEEN OFF THE ROAD FOR 3 MONTHS. DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD WENT TO STOP VEHICLE AND BRAKE WENT TO THE FLOOR AND NO STOPPING POWER. NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE TO FIX PROBLEM. AFTER LOOKING INTO THIS ISSUE MANY PEOPLE WITH 04 ARMADA HAVING SAME PROBLEM.. NISSAN REFUSES TO FIX PROBLEM! VERY DANGEROUS. *NM
I WENT TO APPLY BRAKES TO STOP AT A LIGHT. THE BRAKES FAILED TO OPERATE, FORCED TO DRIVE OFF ROAD. MYSELF AS WELL AS MANY OTHERS HAD EXPERIENCED THE SAME PROBLEM. NOTHING WAS DONE TO FIX!! *JB
WIFE WAS IN OUR NISSAN 2004 ARMADA AND WAS COMPLETELY STOPPED ON FLAT GROUND, PLACED SUV IN PARK. GOT OUT OF SUV PLACED BOTH FEET ON THE GROUND TO STAND UP AND THEN THE SUV SURGED AND JUMPED FORWARD, WHILE STILL IN PARK. THE VEHICLE CRUSHED AND PINNED HER BETWEEN THE DOOR AND THE DOOR JAMB WITH A CONCRETE METAL POLE ON THE OUTSIDE OF THE DOOR PINNING MY WIFE. THE FIRE DEPT AND EMS HAD TO EXTRICATE HER BY PLACING THE SUV FROM PARK TO DRIVE MOVE FORWARD TO RELEASE MY WIFE. MY WIFE IS STILL RECOVERING AND HEALING FROM A " OPEN BOOK FRACTURE OF HER HIP" BROKEN RT LEG, ALONG WITH DEVELOPING BILATERAL KIDNEY STONES FROM INJURY AND CARRYING OUR UNBORN DAUGHTER. CARRIED TO DEALERSHIP THEY STATE " NOTHING FOUND NO WAY COULD HAPPEN" WHEN THERE ARE SEVERAL TESTIFIABLE WITNESSES TO THE INCIDENT BESIDES THE FIRE DEPT. *NM
2004 NISSAN ARMADA BRAKES FAILED TWICE. *KB *JB
I TOOK MY NISSAN ARMADA 2004 LE TO MY MECHANIC AND HE SAID THE BRAKE ROTOR WERE WARPED. I BOUGHT IT AT 16,500 AND IT NOW HAS 18,500 MILES. IT HAS PULSATED EVER SINCE I PURCHASED IT. MY MECHANIC SAID IT WAS ODD THAT THE ROTORS WOULD WARP SO SOON. HE TOLD ME TO CHECK WITH NISSAN BEFORE HE REPLACED THEM, SINCE MANY OF THE ARMADAS AND TITANS HAVE HAD BRAKE PROBLEMS. I WENT TO THE DEALER AND THEY CHARGED ME 95.00 DOLLARS TO DIAGNOSE AND SAID THE BRAKE ROTORS WERE WARPED. THE DEALER BAY RIDGE NISSAN 532 65TH ST IN BROOKLYN NEW YORK 11220 TOLD ME IT WAS NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANT. THEY KNEW OF THE DEFECT, BUT SAID AT 18,000 MILES IT WAS DUE TO WEAR AND TEAR. MY MECHANIC SAID THAT IS ODD. *NM
I PURCHASED MY VEHICLE (2004 NISSAN ARMADA) WITH 4,836 MILES...AT 19,673 MILES WHILE DRIVING I NOTICED MY BRAKE & ABS LIGHT COME ON SO I WENT TO PULL OVER..AS I SLOWED I PUSHED MY BRAKE AND IT MADE A LOUD SPRINGING AND GRINDING NOISE AND THE BRAKES LOST AT LEAST 80% OF ITS POWER "IT FELT VERY SOFT"..TURNED THE VEHICLE OFF AND THEN BACK ON AGAIN AND EVERYTHING SEEMED NORMAL, DROVE ABOUT 3 MILES TO THE DEALER AND LEFT THE VEHICLE THERE. THEY CHANGED THE ROTORS, PADS, TORQUE MEMBER ALL WERE NO GOOD!!! NOW AGAIN AT 23,800 MILES THE BRAKES HAVE FAILED AGAIN HAPPENING IN THE SAME ORDER THAT IT DID THE FIRST TIME. THE DEALER TOLD ME YESTERDAY THAT THEY THINK IT IS ELECTRICAL.....? SO I ASKED THEM DID YOU PHYSICALLY CHECK THE BRAKES? THEY SAID NO....SO MY HUSBAND ADVISED THEM TO CHECK IT!!! A DAY LATER I AM STILL WAITING TO HEAR WHAT IS GOING ON? I HAD RESEARCHED IT OVER THE INTERNET AND NOTICED THAT I ALONG WITH HUNDREDS OF OTHER PEOPLE ARE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM...WHY NO RECALL!!! HAD A FLAT TIRE SO TRIED TO CHANGE MYSELF WITH FACTORY JACK KIT. I WAS IN A PARKING LOT ON FLAT ASPHALT. WE I STARTED TO LIFT THE CAR AND WHEN I GOT A LOAD ON THE JACK IT FROZE AND THE CENTER SCREW BENT AND THE CAR SHIFTED. THE AUTO CLUB HAD TO REMOVE THE JACK AS IT WOULD NOT FUNCTION. THE DEALERSHIP IS GOING TO REPLACE IT WITH A SAME TYPE JACK. THE JACK IS NOT STRONG ENOUGH FOR CAR. I WAS LUCKY IT HAPPENED WHILE LIFTING NOT AFTER I GOT THE WHEEL OFF. *JB
DT*: THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING AT 35 MPH AND ATTEMPTING TO STOP, THE ADJUSTABLE BRAKE PEDAL FRACTURED AND TOGGLED FROM SIDE TO SIDE. AS A RESULT, THE PEDAL COULD NOT BE DEPRESSED IN TIME TO STOP THE VEHICLE CAUSING A CRASH. A PREVIOUS COMPLAINT WAS FILED ON THE BRAKE ROTORS AND PADS, ODI # 10134217. THE DEALER WAS ALERTED.
ONE DAY LAST SUMMER, THE BRAKES ON MY ARMADA FAILED TO WORK PROPERLY. THE BRAKE PEDAL FELT LIKE IT DEPRESSED MORE THAN NORMAL AND THE CAR DID NOT FEEL LIKE IT WAS GOING TO STOP. WHEN THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED FIRMLY THE CAR WOULD COME TO AN IMMEDIATE STOP. LOUD NOISES COMING FROM NEAR THE FRONT OF THE CAR COULD BE HEARD. I DROVE VERY CAREFULLY ACROSS TOWN TO HORIZON NISSAN NOTIFYING THE SERVICE WRITER THAT I WOULD BE THERE SHORTLY. I PULLED IN. TURNED THE CAR OFF. A SERVICE ADVISOR CAME WITH ME FOR A TEST DRIVE . THE CAR DID NOT HAVE THE PROBLEM. I WAS INFORMED THAT PERHAPS A ROCK GOT STUCK IN MY BRAKES AND FELL OUT AFTER I TURNED THE CAR OFF. TWO MORE TIMES, THE BRAKES FAILED TO OPERATE IN A SAFE MANNER. I PULLED OFF THE ROAD. TURNED THE CAR OFF. TURNED THE CAR ON AND THE BRAKES WORKED NORMAL. ONCE AGAIN, TODAY, THE BRAKES FAILED TO WORK PROPERLY. WHILE WAITING AT THE INTERSECTION AT A RED LIGHT, I THOUGHT I COULD RESET THE BRAKES TO WORK. TURNED THE CAR OFF, ON, AND THE BRAKE LIGHT STAYED ON AND THE BRAKES DID NOT WORK. I ARRIVED AT MY DESTINATION AND TESTED THE BRAKES AGAIN. TURNED THE CAR OFF - ON. BRAKE LIGHT WENT OFF, BUT CAME ON AFTER ABOUT 10 SECONDS. I THEN HAD THE CAR TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP AS I AM VERY WEARY OF DRIVING THE CAR ANYWHERE NOT KNOWING WHEN THE BRAKES ARE GOING TO ACT UP. *NM
OUR MECHANIC INFORMED US THAT HE BELIEVED THE TIRES ON OUR NISSAN ARMADA WERE NOT RATED HIGH ENOUGH TO TOW THE CAPACITY THAT NISSAN CLAIMS THEY WILL. STANDARD WITH THE ARMADA ARE P265 70 R18 "PASSENGER" TIRES THAT ARE 4 PLY. WE TOW A LARGE 3 HORSE TRAILER THAT WHEN LOADED TO CAPACITY IS AT THE LIMITS OF THE ARMADA, NOT TO MENTION THE INCREASED WEIGHT OF PASSENGERS AND LUGGAGE IN THE ARMADA. WE HAVE CONTACTED NUMEROUS TIRE COMPANIES ASKING ABOUT WHAT TIRES THEY WOULD RECOMMEND KNOWING THAT IT IS OUR INTENT TO TOW HEAVY LOADS, NOT TO EXCEED THE LIMITS OF THE VEHICLE. NO TIRE COMPANY (GOODYEAR, BF GOODRICH, LES SCHWAB) STATED THEY WOULD SELL US "P" RATED 4 PLY TIRES FOR OUR VEHICLE BECAUSE THEY BELIEVED THE TIRES WERE NOT UP TO THE JOB OF HANDLING SUCH HEAVY WEIGHT CAPACITY. RENO NISSAN SAYS THERE IS "NO PROBLEM", HOWEVER, WHEN WE EXPLAINED TO THEM THE PROBLEM WITH THE ARMADA "BRAKE RECALL" AND THE "TRAILER WIRING" RECALL, WE TOLD THEM WE DIDN'T BELIEVE THEM. ALSO, THE XTERRA HAD A "TRAILER HITCH" RECALL BECAUSE THE HITCH SYSTEM WAS NOT STRONG ENOUGH TO HANDLE THE LOADS NISSAN SAID THEY WOULD. WE HAVE MADE CONTACT WITH SEVERAL REP'S FROM NHTSA WHO ASKED THAT WE FILE THIS FORMAL COMPLAINT ABOUT THE TOW CAPACITY RATING/TIRES OF THE ARMADA. FORTUNATELY, THERE HAVE BEEN NO FAILURES WITH REGARDS TO OUR TOWING, HOWEVER, THE ARMADA IS NEW AND FEW PEOPLE MAY HAVE YET TO EXPERIENCE THIS PROBLEM. ADDITIONALLY, IT IS UNKNOWN HOW MANY OWNERS ACTUALLY USE THE ARMADA FOR THIS TYPE OF TOWING APPLICATION WHICH WOULD SKEW THE NUMBER OF REPORTED FAILURES AND/OR COMPLAINTS RELATING TO IMPROPER TIRES SUPPLIED BY NISSAN. WITH THE FAILURE OF THE BRAKING SYSTEM AND THE TRAILER WIRING HARNESS ON THE ARMADA, IT IS NOT UNREASONABLE TO SUSPECT THAT NISSAN ENGINEERS SIMPLY MADE ANOTHER MISTAKE AS NISSAN WAS TRYING TO GET INTO THE LARGE SUV MARKET. *JB
TODAY I TOOK 2004 ARMADA THROUGH A TOUCH LESS CAR WASH AS I HAVE DONE MANY TIMES BEFORE. THE UPPER REAR HIGH MOUNT BRAKE LIGHT HOUSING, ACTUALLY A BODY PART OF THE VEHICLE, CAME OFF DURING THE EXITING OF THE CAR WASH. THIS HAPPENED WHEN THE BLOWER BLEW THE WATER OFF THE ARMADA AND BLEW THIS HOUSING DOWN ONTO THE REAR WINDOW. UPON INSPECTION THE PLASTIC RIVETS THAT HOLD THE HOUSING IN PLACE HAD SHEERED OFF, AND THE WIND BLEW THE UNIT DOWN ONTO THE WINDOW. THE UNIT CAME DOWN WITH ENOUGH FORCE TO BREAK THE BACK WINDOW AND DID INFECT SCRATCH IT. THE ONLY THING PREVENTING THE UNIT FROM COMING COMPLETELY OFF AND BECOMING A PROJECTILE OBJECT WAS THE WIRING. IT APPEARS THAT THE AUTO MOBILE MAKER IS AWARE OF THIS, BUT DOES NOT WARN CONSUMERS, AND WILL NOT REPAIR THIS DESIGN FLAW WITH SUBSTANTIAL ANCHORS. IN A ROLL OVER THIS COULD COME OFF COMPLETELY AND BECOME A PROJECTILE OBJECT. ADDITIONALLY, UNTIL I AM ABLE TO GET THIS FIXED I AM RIDING AROUND WITHOUT BENEFIT OF A REAR BRAKE LIGHT AS REQUIRED BY FEDERAL LAW. I HAVE BEEN TOLD BY OTHERS, ARMADA NEWSGROUP, THAT THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THESE UNITS, AND THAT NISSAN REFUSES TO ACCEPT THE LIABILITY. WE PURCHASED A 2004 NISSAN ARMADA IN MARCH OF 2004. SINCE ALMOST DAY ONE WE HAVE HAD ONGOING BRAKE PROBLEMS (MOSTLY ROTOR AND CALIPER RELATED). IN JANUARY OF 2006, MY WIFE AND THREE OF MY CHILDREN WERE IN THE CAR WHEN THE BRAKES COMPLETELY FAILED. FORTUNATELY, MY WIFE WAS ABLE TO DRIVE UP AN EMBANKMENT AND STOP THE VEHICLE BEFORE ANYONE WAS HURT. THE DIAGNOSIS WAS A FAILED DELTA STROKE SENSOR IN THE BRAKE BOOSTER. A REPAIR WAS MADE, BUT SINCE THAT TIME WE EXPERIENCED INTERMITTENT WARNING LIGHTS FOR THE VEHICLE DYNAMIC CONTROL AND SLIP. LAST WEEK WE STARTED TO EXPERIENCE SEVERE STEERING WHEEL AND BRAKE VIBRATION. WE TOOK THE VEHICLE IN FOR SERVICE AND THE DIAGNOSIS WAS A FAILED ABS UNIT, A BURNED OUT 4 WHEEL DRIVE COMPUTER, AND A FAILED SWITCH IN THE BRAKE BOOSTER. THESE PARTS HAVE BEEN REPLACED, BUT THE VEHICLE IS STILL SHOWING ERRORS WHEN HOOKED UP TO THE DIAGNOSTIC COMPUTER AND IS STILL UNDER REPAIR, BUT NOBODY IS SURE (INCLUDING NISSAN) WHAT THE PROBLEM IS. I LOVE MY NISSAN TRUCKS BUT FILL DANA SHOULD ISSUE A RECALL TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM FOR NISSAN BEFORE SOMEBODY GETS HURT OR KILLED. OCTOBER 5, 2005 RE: VIN# [XXX] (2004 NISSAN ARMADA) THE BRAKES ARE DEFECTIVE AND DO NOT WORK PROPERLY WHEN APPLYING PRESSURE TO STOP. WE HAVE NEVER RECEIVED ANY NOTIFICATION FROM NISSAN DISCLOSING ANY BRAKE ISSUES OR CONCERNS. WE HAVE ALWAYS BEEN THE ONES TO INFORM THE DEALER OF OUR PROBLEMS EACH TIME EVEN THOUGH THERE WAS A NISSAN BULLETIN IN EXISTENCE. LAST MONTH (SEPTEMBER, 2005) WAS THE FIRST TIME WE RECEIVED A LETTER FROM NISSAN WITH RESPECT TO THE BRAKES AND THEY HAVE INFORMED ALL OF THE NISSAN ARMADA OWNERS THAT THEY WILL ALLOW UNLIMITED MILEAGE/OR UP TO 36 MONTHS TO FIX ANYTHING THAT HAS TO DO WITH THE BRAKES. AFTER FOUR TIMES GETTING THE BRAKES FIXED THE BRAKES ARE STILL DEFECTIVE. THE BRAKES ARE A HAZARD TO ME AND MY FAMILY AS WELL AS TO OTHERS ON THE ROAD. THE BRAKES VIBRATE INTENSELY AND CAUSES THE WHOLE CAR TO SHAKE AND VIBRATE NOT JUST THE STEERING WHEEL. IT IS HARD TO CONTROL THE STEERING WHEEL AND THE VEHICLE ITSELF IS HARD TO CONTROL. EVER SINCE I PURCHASED THIS CAR (2004 NISSAN PATHFINDER ARMADA) IN DECEMBER 2003 I AM EXPERIENCING SOME BRAKE PROBLEMS AND THE DEALER HAS BEEN TRYING TO SOLVE THE PROBLEM AND IT IS GETTING WORSE. I HAD IT TOWED TO THE DEALER AND THEY SAID THERE WAS A LEAK IN THE MASTER CYNLINDER. THEY REPLACED IT AFTER 2 WEEKS AND WHILE MY WIFE WAS TAKING THE CAR HOME, THE SAME PROBLEM OCCURED AGAIN. THIS TIME THE DEALER IS BLAMING THE PROBLEM ON THE BRAKE BOOSTERS. THEY WILL NOT HAVE A REPLACEMENT AVAILABLE BEFORE 3 TO 6 WEEKS. THE MAJOR INCIDENT OCCURED ON SEPTEMBER 29, 2005 BUT THE OVERALL BRAKE PROBLEMS STARTED IN MARCH 2004.

BRAKE JUTTER, GRINDING, SHAKING WHEN BRAKING. ABS VDL SLIP BRAKE LIGHTS UP ON DASH--UNABLE TO TURN OFF. STOPPING VEHICLE AND RESTARTING CORRECTS THE PROBLEM SOMETIMES; OTHER TIMES THE LIGHT STAYS ON. BRAKE PADS ORIGINALLY REPLACED EARLY AFTER PURCHASE IN 2005 WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS STILL UNDER WARRANTY. THE VEHICLE IS RARELY DRIVEN--THERE IS APPROXIMATELY 36K MILES ON THE VEHICLE--BUT THE PROBLEM HAS BEEN PERSISTENT OVER THE YEARS WHEN DRIVEN. LATELY, I HAVE BEEN DRIVING THE VEHICLE MORE OFTEN AND THE PROBLEM IS CONTINUING AND IT IS MORE APPARENT THAT THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THE VEHICLE BRAKES. I AM ALSO EXPERIENCING PROBLEMS WITH THE LIFT GATE AS IT RECENTLY STOPPED FUNCTIONING WHEN PRESSING THE KEY FOB OR EITHER OF THE SWITCHES INSIDE THE VEHICLE. I BEGAN OPENING AND CLOSING THE LIFT GATE MANUALLY AND NOW IT WILL NOT CLOSE SECURELY, I.E., IT IS NOT GETTING THAT FINAL SEAL WHEN CLOSED. IN ADDITION, THE FRONT PASSENGER WINDOW NO LONGER GOES UP OR DOWN AND DOES NOT WORK WHEN USING THE DRIVER'S OR PASSENGER SWITCH. FINALLY, THE DRIVER'S SEAT DOES NOT RESET TO THE POSITION PROGRAMMED WHEN THE ENGINE STARTS AND TURNS OFF. I DECIDED TO RESEARCH THE INTERNET TODAY AND WAS QUITE SURPRISED TO SEE THAT THERE ARE SO MANY OTHERS WHO ARE EXPERIENCING THE SAME PROBLEM WITH THEIR 2004 AMADA. CALLED A LOCAL NISSAN DEALER TODAY AND THEY WERE WELL AWARE OF THE PROBLEM. JUST AS SO MANY HAVE WRITTEN ALL OVER THE INTERNET, THE DEALER SUGGEST THAT YOU BRING THE VEHICLE IN WHEN THE BRAKE LIGHT ISSUE IS DISPLAYED SO THAT THEY CAN PERFORM DIAGNOSTIC TEST. *TR
BOUGHT NISSAN TRUCK IN MAY 2005 AND THE TRUCK HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP 6 TIMES FOR BAD BRAKE PADS AND WARPED ROTOR. *JB
CONTINUOUS BRAKE SHUDDER VIBRATES THRU STEERING WHEEL. SEATS SQUEEK. FUEL GAUGE DOESN'T MOVE TO THE FULL MARK WHEN FUEL NOZZLE SHUTS OFF. THIS IS THE FOURTH TIME FOR THE BRAKE PROBLEM AND THE THIRD TIME FOR THE FUEL GAUGE. THEY REPLACE THE BRAKE PADS AND RESURFACE THE ROTORS AND THEY REPLACED THE FUEL PUMP ASSEMBLY ALL THESE PROBLEMS IN LESS THAN A YEAR FOR MY 2004 ARMADA. WHY HASN'T THERE BEEN ANY RECALLS I SEE ALL THESE COMPLAINTS AND I'VE COMPLAINED MANY TIMES. I THINK WE SHOULD BE REFUNDED OUR MONEY ON THE VEHICLES OR GET A BRAND NEW VEHICLE. I HAVE 22,000 MILES. AND I'M STILL WAITING FOR THESE SO CALLED REPAIR KITS THAT THERE SUPPOSE TO HAVE ITS BEEN MONTHS. WHAT ARE WE SUPPOSE TO DO WHEN OUR WARRENTY RUNS OUT!!!
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 NISSAN ARMADA. WHEN APPLYING THE BRAKES AT 40 MPH, THE BRAKE PEDAL EXTENDED DOWN TO THE FLOOR. THE VEHICLE STOPPED WHEN THE EMERGENCY BRAKE WAS APPLIED. WHEN THE CONTACT TURNED THE VEHICLE OFF AND RESTARTED IT, THE BRAKES OPERATED NORMALLY. THE DEALER CHANGED THE WARPED ROTORS AT 2,500 MILES. THE VDC WAS REPROGRAMMED AT 38,581 MILES. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 60,186 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 2,500.
IN NOVEMBER 2004 I PURCHASED THE ARMADA 2004. I DROVE IT TO FLORIDA IN DECEMBER 2004 AND LEFT IT IN MY HOUSE. I LEFT WITH THE MILITARY UNTIL JUNE 2005, I DROVE THE VEHICLE SEVERAL TIMES UNTIL JULY 2005, IN WHICH, ONE MORNING I TRY TO TURN IT ON, THE VEHICLE DID NOT START AND IT SOUNDED LIKE THE BATTERY OR STARTER WAS NOT WORKING PROPERLY. THE BATTERY GAGE WENT FROM HALF WAY TO THE NEGATIVE SIDE AND THEN BACK TO THE MIDDLE AND ONCE AGAIN TO THE NEGATIVE SIDE AGAIN. THE CONTROL SYSTEMS ARE STILL SHOWING NEGATIVE INFORMATION OF BEING OFF OR ON. I HAVE NOT TAKEN IT IN FOR A CHECK UP DUE TO I PURCHASE THE VEHICLE IN NY AND I AM IN FL. I HAVE TO CHECK WITH THE NY DEALER IF I COULD TAKE IT ANY NISSAN DEALERSHIPS IN FL. I WILL REPORT BACK ON ANY INFORMATION FROM THE LOCAL DEALERSHIP. DT: CONTACT OWNED A 2004 NISSAN ARMADA. T WHEN DEPRESSING THE BRAKES FRONT END SHAKES. THE PEOPLE AT NISSAN'S CORPORATE OFFICE THOUGHT THIS WAS NOT A BIG DEAL BECAUSE THERE WAS NOT RECALL. HOWEVER, THE GOVERNMENT BECAME INVOLVED, AND THAT WAS WHY CONSUMER ENLISTING Y HELP. I BEGAN HAVING PROBLEMS WITH FRONT ROTORS IN FEBRUARY OF 2004. TOOK VEHICLE TO A LOCAL NISSAN DEALER WHO FIXED THE PROBLEM BY ROTATING THE ROTORS. THEN , ON JUNE. I HAD SAME THE SAME PROBLEM . CALLED THE LOCAL NISSAN DEALER AGAIN AND THEY CHECKED THE FRONT END AGAIN. THIS TIME THEY SAID THAT THIS WAS A PROBLEM THAT HAS BEEN HAPPENING WITH THE ARMADA, AND THAT THEY WOULD HAVE TO ORDER THE PART FOR THE VEHICLE, AND THAT IT WOULD BE ABOUT THREE WEEKS. THREE WEEKS WERE UP SATURDAY JULY 16. CONSUMER CALLED THE DEALERSHIP ON JULY 15 AND SPOKE WITH SOMEONE FROM SERVICE. HE ADVISED CONSUMER T THAT THEY COULD NOT TELL WHEN THEY WILL BE ABLE TO FIX THE TRUCK BECAUSE THEY COULD NOT ORDER THE PARTS FROM NISSAN. ALSO, THEY HAVE A STACK OF ORDER FORMS, AND IF CONSUMER CAME IN ABOUT TWO OR THREE WEEKS AGO THEN SHE WOULD HAVE HAD ABOUT 7 OR 8 PEOPLE AHEAD. WHEN CONSUME R TOLD HIM THAT SHE DO NOT FEEL SAFE DRIVING THE VEHICLE, AND IT DID NOT MAKE HER FEEL ANY BETTER TO KNOW THAT THEY DID NOT KNOW WHEN IT WILL BE FIXED. DEALER THEN SAID THAT THE VEHICLE WAS SAFE. CONSUMER ASKED HIM HOW COULD IT BE SAFE WHEN THE FRONT END SHAKES. *AK *NM
ON THREE OCCASSIONS, AT MILEAGE 7500, 15000, AND 22000, THE FRONT ROTORS HAVE WARPED ON MY NISSAN PATHFINDER ARMANDA 4WD, CAUSING DANGEROUS STEERING AND DRIVING CONDITIONS. THE PROBLEM HAS BEEN DESCRIBED AS INCORRECTLY SIZED BRAKE PADS WHICH HEAT UP AND WARP THE ROTORS. NISSAN HAS CORRECTED THE PROBLEM IN EACH CASE BY GRINDING AND/OR REPLACING THE ROTORS. THE PROBLEM HAS BEEN DESCRIBED AS THE "ARMADA BRAKE ISSUE".
1) 130LB FEMALE ADULT SITTING PROPERLY IN THE RIGHT FRONT PASSENGER SEAT IS UNABLE TO ENGAGE THE AIRBAG SYSTEM. NO MATTER THE SEATING POSITION, E.G. UPRIGHT, SLOUCHING OR OTHERWISE, THE INDICATOR LIGHT SHOWS SYSTEM IS DISABLED. 2) VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO LOCAL NISSAN DEALER WHO WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE A SOLUTION, SUGGESTING THAT A GREATER WEIGHT WAS NECESSARY TO ENGAGE THE AIRBAG. 3) COMPARABLE VEHICLES, AND NISSAN DOCUMENTATION SHOW THAT WEIGHTS UNDER 60 LBS SHOULD DISABLE THE AIRBAG FEATURE. NISSAN IS DEFICIENT AND NEGLIGENT IN ALLOWING THIS VEHICLE TO BE OPERATING WITH A KNOWN SERIOUS DEFECT.
NISSAN ARMADA HAS A KNOWN PROBLEM WITH IT'S FRONT BRAKES BEING UNDERSIZED IN THE EARLY MODELS OF SAID VEHICLES (MODEL YEARS 2004-2006). SEVERAL TIMES HAVE HAD ISSUES WITH BRAKES NOT RESPODING AND LOST CONTROL OF VEHICLE. THIS IS CAUSED BY UNDERSIZED BREAKS. NOT HAVING PROPER SIZED BRAKES HAS LED TO ROTORS EASILY OVERHEATING AND GLAZING THE BRAKE PADS WHICH THEN LED TO HOT SPOTTED, WARPED, OR OTHERWISE RUINED FRONT ROTORS AND PADS. THE GREATEST UNSAFE SYMPTOM IS THAT ESPECIALLY IN THE WARMER MONTHS THE OVERHEATING OF THE ROTORS WOULD CAUSE THE ANTI-LOCK FRONT BRAKE SYSTEM SENSORS TO TRIGGER (FALSE POSITIVE) RANDOMLY AND YOU WOULD DANGEROUSLY LOSE CONTROL OF THE VEHICLES ABILITY TO BRAKE (AND STEER) SAFELY. *TR
DT: THE BRAKES WERE TOO SMALL FOR THE VEHICLE. THE CONSUMER TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY REPLACED THE PADS. THE SECOND TIME THEY SHAVED THE ROTORS. *JB WHILE BRAKING THE STEERING WHEEL SHOOK AND THE BRAKED MADE NOISE. *NM
DT: WAS DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY AND HEARD A SOUND OF EXPLOSION AND IT WAS THE TIRE THAT EXPLODED ON THE FREEWAY. WAS DRIVING AT 70 MPH. THEN PULLED OVER TO CHANGE IT WITH THE SPARE. I SAW A HOLE ABOUT SIX INCHES ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE TIRE WALL NOT IN FRONT SIDE. THIS WAS THE RIGHT REAR TIRE. CALLED NISSAN DEALER. THEY SAID TO CONTACT THE TIRE MANUFACTURER. CONSUMER CALLED CONTINENTAL TIRES. AND THEY SAID THEY WERE NOT RESPONSIBLE BECAUSE IT HAPPENED ON THE FREEWAY. THE ONLY OPTION WAS THAT CONSUMER PURCHASED A NEW TIRES WHICH COST $300.00. WENT BACK TO THE DEALER. THE CAR WAS CHECKED , AND HAD NO MECHANICAL PROBLEMS . NISSAN DEALER SAID TO CALL BACK CONTINENTAL TIRES. CALLED THE AGAIN AND CONTINENTAL TIRES DID NOT WANTED TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY. AS OF NOW CONSUMER COULD NOT DRIVE WITH THE SPARE TIRE, AND COMPLAINED AGAINST CONTINENTAL TIRES.*AK
PURCHASED 2004 NISSAN ARMADA 11/2004. PROGRESSIVELY GREATER SHIMMY/JUTTER WHILE BRAKING. UNSAFE FEEL WHILE ATTEMPTING TO STOP. BRAKE FAILURE COULD RESULT IN SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH. BRAKE SYSTEM WAS INSPECTED AND FOUND TO HAVE UNDERDESIGNED COMPONENTS FOR VEHICLE WEIGHT AS STATED BY NISSAN DEALER ON 5/27/05. DEALER TURNED ROTORS, REPLACED PADS, STATED "THIS WAS NOT A PERMANENT FIX". THIS ALL DONE WITHIN 8000 MILES.

BRAKES QUICKLY WAER DOWN TO THE POINT OF NEAR LOSS OF FUNCTION DUE TO VIBRATION. THIS INCREASES STOPPING DISTANCES AND CAN CAUSE ACCIDENTS. DEALER RESURFACED ROTORS, BUT PROBLEM RETURNED WITHIN 2 MONTHS. *NM
I PURCHASED MY 2004 NISSAN PATHFINDER ARMADA IN DECEMBER 2004 WITH APPROX. 10 MILES. AROUND THE TURN OF 4,000 MILES, MY VEHICLE BEGAN TO SHAKE UNCONTROLLABLY WHEN THE BRAKES WERE APPLIED. THIS SHAKING WAS SO BAD THAT THE TRUCK WAS UNABLE TO STOP OR STEER PROPERLY. MY WIFE AND I HAVE BOTH NARROWLY AVOIDED MAJOR POTENTIALLY INJURIOUS ACCIDENTS AS A RESULT OF THIS PROBLEM. WE STOPPED DRIVING THE VEHICLE BECAUSE OF SAFETY CONERNS, BUT WHEN THIS WAS BROUGHT UP TO THE DEALERSHIPS AND NISSAN NORTH AMERICA WE WERE ASSURED THERE "WAS NO SAFETY ISSUE". THE DEALERSHIP HAS ASSISTED WITH THE PROBLEM AND PROVIDED A "TEMPORARY FIX" TO THE PROBLEM. THE DEALER ALSO EXPLAINED THAT THIS TEMPORARY FIX WILL NOT LAST VERY LONG AND I'LL HAVE TO COME BACK WITHIN A FEW HUNDRED TO A THOUSAND MILES. THE DEALER ASSURED ME THAT THEY'D ATTEMPT TO GET THE HARDWARE TO REPLACE THE SOURCE OF THE PROBLEM, "INFERIOR ROTORS THAT ARE TOO SMALL FOR THE TRUCK", BUT UNTIL THEN I'LL HAVE TO CONTINUE TO PAY FOR MY INFERIOR PRODUCT. THE MOST DAMAGING STATEMENT MADE BY THE DEALER, AGAINST THE CORPORATION, WAS THAT SINCE SO MANY VEHICLES HAD THIS PROBLEM AND THE CORPORATION COULD NOT ORDER ENOUGH PARTS FAST ENOUGHT TO FIX THE FAULTY VEHICLES, "NISSAN MOTORS WILL NOT ALLOW ME TO GET A HARDWARE PACKAGE UNTIL YOU BRING THE VEHICLE IN THE THIRD TIME". THIS WAS ACTUAL GUIDANCE PUT OUT BY NISSAN MOTORS TO DEALERS TO AVOID A BACKLOG. THIS WAS CONFIRMED WHEN I SPOKE WITH NISSAN MOTORS NORTH AMERICA ON JUNE 09, 2005. I HAVE DOCUMENTED ALL OF THIS INFORMATION IF ANYONE IS INTERESTED IN IT. NO ONE IN MY FAMILY WAS INJURED AS A RESULT OF THIS, BUT IT IS PROBABLY ONLY BECAUSE WE TOOK OUR VEHICLE OUT OF SERVICE VOLUNTARILY.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 NISSAN ARMADA. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH, THE VEHICLE VIBRATED EXCESSIVELY AND A WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE INDICATOR REMAINED LIT UNTIL THE ENGINE WAS TURNED OFF. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER FOR INSPECTION, BUT THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT TIRE SHOP AND THE TECHNICIAN STATED THAT THE REAR WHEELS NEEDED TO BE ALIGNED. THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 65,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
